oh it was mildly a shitpost, but people talk about LQR and his teaching and whether or not he was a bad teacher and if he was mean to WWX in a way that uhhh strongly reminds me of the way that Snape? was a teacher? like in the "he was terrible and stifled creativity and he was a bad teacher who doesn't deserve to work with children and he was probably also a shitty guardian for his nephews" way + joking about how he's homophobic/"would qi deviate bc of [x]" (also there's a popular thing in fic where LQR is bitter about CSSR and takes it out on WWX) which! sorry there's no basis for this in canon and I hgggg. Leliana and Marjolaine may not be a story everyone likes, which is fair enough. I think it's maybe good to remember that it was important in its time not simply for being a canon f/f ship, but because Leliana is a bi love interest whose attraction to women is not hidden from the player; regardless of the gender of your player character, if you befriend Leliana, you will hear about her past relationship with a woman. That was a big deal when Origins came out, and honestly it kind of still is.

I am not by any means saying that every bi/pan character needs to have a same-gender ex wandering around to prove their queerness--I'm not a big fan of the term "playersexual" and I'll argue that bi characters are still bi whether they always tell you or not (because things that can happen in a branching RPG are still part of the canon even if they didn't happen in your game). Nonetheless the fact that Leliana's sexuality (and Zevran's) was not missable or ignorable... that did mean something, and it still does.

Something that I see often on the revalink tag here is hate for revalink under the ship's tag- which is messed up.

I get it if you don't like revalink, if its not your thing, but leave that shit out of our tag. We're all out here just trying to enjoy a ship that doesn't deserve hate.

I have issues with Sidlink, but I'm not about to go tagging that in this post or if I ever made a post about my issues about it.

Basically, just let people enjoy their ships as long as they're not actually messed up. If you don't like seeing a ships content, filter it, or just don't interact, don't hate on something that makes someone happy.
