Not to send you an essay but do you ever think about how Gortash was the only person in the whole game who didn’t want anything from Durge but Durge. Just them, as a person. Like yes he wanted the netherstone, and wanted the alliance. But what I mean is there were no prereqs for Durge as a person. Every other companion, every other NPC even, wanted Durge to either resist and refuse Bhaal or pursue power and claim their birthright. Everyone had their two cents for what Durge should or shouldn’t do irrespective of how Durge actually felt about it. It made any friendship or love offered to them conditional, even in the case of their companions. It was always “I’ll stand by you, IF”. To be fair, not necessarily unreasonable for the normal person to set boundaries on murder and such lol. But my point is that they all wanted something from Durge first.

But Gortash. OF ALL PEOPLE. Gortash didn’t want anything from them but them. Even for Durge’s biggest supporters in either moral direction - Jaheira, Sceleritas, etc - it was not that simple. Yet Gortash’s friendship with Durge (and to be clear I think they were so in love but I say friendship here to emphasise that even on top of or irrespective of any romance, they were genuinely friends too!) was unconditional. “This changes nothing” is a line I know we all talk about to death but god. That is genuinely unconditional. It is!

(If we want to push the delusion a bit further, that’s a declaration of the unconditional nature of their alliance, which can be chalked up to nothing less than real and honest love as far as I’m concerned. He has no other reason to not care that Durge just said yeah the entire divine commandment part of this mission is in the pot. But Gortash was like I Do Not Care! And he meant it! “Oh yes incomprehensibly powerful beings came to us in our dreams and asked us to do all of this in their names in the first place, and you just pissed on that, but no biggie!” Same short-tempered petty bastard who kicks you hard in the shin with his metal-toe boot if you accidentally hit him. Who straight up attacks you if you show up to his office without any of the netherstones and say you forgot them or whatever. Guy who just kills you if you GIVE HIM THE STONES LOL. But he doesn’t care even slightly that Durge said fuck off to the lord of murder who ordered this whole plot to start? Doesn’t yell, doesn’t ask Durge what were they thinking, just goes oh ok. He makes me insane btw)

I’m also painfully aware that Durge will never find that kind of unconditional support with anyone else, ever. I just feel like this would haunt my resistance Durge for the rest of his days tbh.

(And like. My resistance Durge loves Jaheira, she’s the parent he never had and she means the world to him post-canon, he follows her around like a lost puppy because ultimately he is one but I have to wonder if he would lie awake at night with the niggling thought that maybe what he has with Jaheira would not survive if he acted any other way. Plus the thought that Gortash knew him at his absolute worst, and loved him anyway. And maybe that wasn’t a GOOD thing, morally - a GOOD person shouldn’t have loved him like that, right? - but he loved him anyway. I don’t think my Durge would ever ever get over it. Especially with the fact that he can’t even remember 99% of their relationship. Gortash can’t ACTUALLY haunt Durge cause Bane is busy using his soul as a stress ball but in every metaphorical way. Durge is haunted.)

Tldr Gortash is the guy who says “just be yourself <3” and I think that’s beautiful

You know, you hit the nail on the head.

Of course it's not unreasonable to expect your friends and lovers to stipulate, that they will only love you as long as you don't go on a murderous rampage.

That's totally reasonable, that's normal, I agree with it on principle.

But. But.

As you said.

Gortash loved you even when you went on a murderous rampage.

I am obsessed with him, because he loved the dark urge without reservation, believing in their ability to control their urge, but also admiring their intelligence and their talents.

He knew what they were from the start, and he accepted it!

And he could still love them!

I just don't think anyone else in the entire goddamn game could say that!

And that's why I'm obsessed with Durgetash.

You get me.

It's about loving someone for who they are, and not what they are to you.

They were never just the Chosen of Bhaal, whom he must work with, not to him.

Never.

They were never the Bhaalspawn, the savage dark urge, the scourge of Faerun.

They were themselves. And he liked that.

Yeah so what im getting is that off camera he's a very traditional guy with traditional values here and there he shares it, off camera he still can be a bit reckless like all the kpop idols, cause we all know they're humans. A little neglectful. But even the cards say a leader lmao. Still witty, sometimes daring, very like single- minded. But ja

He's a balanced guy off camera and has a little bit of patience and calmness. It's like he doesn't let things get to him, but he only gets to himself. If you know what I mean.

Overall pretty good tbh.

Heesung

Okay damn, so off camera he is practical, logical, hard worker, making his dreams come true, but at the same time extremely chaotic, which causes him to like go home take a shower and think deep about what he has done and how chaotic shit is. Very pessimistic too which causes him to be very nasty at times and make cruel comments, bad at communicating too.

He's a good person deep down and he means well, but communication skills are bad and he's too focused on the bad and being perfect.

Jay

Okay so he's very in his head a lot and he's so in his head that he misses good opportunities for him and he even refuses some offers to him, idk if it's pettiness or just because he's so stuck in his head, but he had a lot of nurturing and creative energy, not shocked from all his Taurus placements.

But he's more on guard and tries to think before he speaks and tries to not get into arguments. But ja sometimes he questions things a lot. Too in his head, but nothing too bad. He should just get out of his head otherwise depression starts.

Overall chill, but ja something he should work on.

Jake

So I feel like off camera he does have a lack of enthusiasm and gets bored easily and has a blocked creative side. Idk what stopping it but I think he's fixing it rn. He's overcoming obstacles and has self-discipline and some will power in him.

He's too focused on materialistic things and I feel like he feels trapped, but I think he out himself in that trap not gonna lie, he tries to avoid these problems but I think he realized he can't now.

Now he's getting over his addictions and gaining control again. Yaya yaya

Sunghoon

But he's very controlling ngl and abusive, or abuses his power. He seriously needs to get a grip of himself.

Sunoo

So off camera he is still very cheerful, optimistic, confident and had a high self-esteem. But he can be a little relentless and be emotionally cold to some people and be like cold and gone.

He can be very indecisive and he holds onto his fears and anxiety a lot. But that's not all he holds on to, he holds on top people, his belongings, ect ect.

A little stingy ngl and ja very possessive.

Niki

Damn. So he can be a little hurtful with his words and be sarcastic, sometimes a know it all, he goes with the flow and is a follower. So he just follows the group.

He had a lack of social life and friends which is sad and he has a lack of security and he can be a little stingy with his money, he's very heartbroken though. Ngl I can imagine, he basically doesn't even have a proper teenage fun years. He has blocked emotions and stuff. Shame man he just needs more friends and people that will hear him

Maiar in 'The Lady of Ithilien'

Eönwë

Herald and banner-bearer of Manwë, the High King of Arda. He's among the most powerful Maiar in Valinor and the mightiest in arms. Military leader and High Commander of the Host of the Valar, he was one of the key fighters during the War of Wrath, which marked the end of the First Age of the Sun.

Birth: he entered Arda shortly after it was created.

Married to Elenna of the House of Húrin.

Fancast: Daniel Sharman

Ilmarë

Eönwë's younger sister and handmaiden of Varda, Queen of the Valar and Manwë's wife. Along with her brother, she's one of the chiefs of the Maiar.

Birth: she entered Arda shortly after it was created.

Eventually married to Eldarion, Crown Prince of Gondor and Arnor.

Fancast: Matilda Lutz

Olórin

Also known as Gandalf (one of his many aliases), he has served several Valar throughout the various ages of Arda. He's mainly associated with Manwë and Varda, but he also served Nienna, Valië of sorrow and compassion and Irmo, Vala of dreams and visions. (Olórin is a Quenya name and its meaning is something along the lines of "dream of mind")

Birth: he entered Arda shortly after it was created.

Fancast: Sir Ian McKellen (as Gandalf during the War of the Ring. He sticks to this form for a little while longer before switching back to his usual one); Bradley James (as Olórin)

Wilwarin

Maia serving Irmo and occasionally Nienna. She's had a major crush on Olórin ever since she met him. She's not the sharpest tool in the box (sorry girl, I still love you), but she's kind-hearted and keeps to herself because no one wants to befriend her due to her perceived stupidity. SHE NEEDS LOVE AND AFFECTION, which no one has ever given her because most Maiar are stuck up and arrogant. Extremely naïve and completely clueless at times, she's been nicknamed "Wilya" (meaning airhead) by her fellow Maiar. She's obsessed with Olórin because he's the only one who's ever actually interacted with her.

Birth: She entered Arda at the beginning of the Second Age of the Sun, following the War of Wrath.

Fancast: Tuğba Melis Türk

Isilmë

Maia of Vayanna. Considered among the most beautiful Maiarin women to ever enter Arda, she has been obsessed with Eönwë ever since she first saw him. They had a brief fling following the War of Wrath, which, needless to say, ended very quickly (and badly). She's firmly convinced he's still in love with her and will do anything to get him back. Her name is Quenya for "moonlight".

Birth: she entered Arda following the War of Wrath (around the same time as Wilwarin)

Fancast: Beste Kökdemir

Isilya

Maia of Yavanna. She's Isilmë's close friend (or so she believes). She fails to realize Isilmë doesn't really love her or value their friendship, but simply uses her for her own purposes. She blindly follows her "friend" and indistinctly agrees with everything the latter says or does, as she's been brainwashed into thinking she's perfect. She doesn't seem to have a mind of her own, modeling her own behavior after Isilmë, as she's afraid to lose the connection they share. She's petty and very annoying, but not inherently evil and might even redeem herself eventually. Who knows. Her name is Quenya for "the third day of the week" according to the Númenórean calendar.

(It might sound odd, but I picked the name purely because it sounds similar to Isilmë and because I like the sound of it, not necessarily because I had a specific idea. I'm terrible at naming characters, I know. Please don't be mean)

Birth: she entered Arda following the War of Wrath.

Fancast: Dilara Aksüyek

Elenna's household

Four Maiarin ladies enter her service after her marriage to the Herald.

Handalimë

Originally a Maia of Vána, she is thoughtful, level-headed, smart and highly practical. Elenna is entrusted to her and she quickly grows fond of her new lady, becoming one of her most trusted servants and her main confidante. She's usually calm and collected and makes it her mission to protect her lady from anyone who might wish her harm—namely her sister Isilmë and a few of the Noldorin elves— and constantly worries about her. Her lady's well-being is her utmost priority.

Birth: she entered Arda sometime before the end of the First Age.

Fancast: Gülcan Arslan

Naráel

A Maia of Aulë, she's spunky and crafty but also naive and shy. She loves making rings and necklaces and will be gifting many jewels to her new lady. She can often be found chatting with Gimli, as she's never seen a dwarf before and wants to know all about dwarf customs and traditions (for fairly obvious reasons, I'd say). Kind-hearted and wiser than she lets on, she loves sitting by fireplaces (and lighting them).

Birth: she entered Arda at the beginning of the Third Age.

Fancast: Sophie Turner

Aranwen

A Maia of Nessa, she loves dancing, nature and poetry. She's not a great conversationalist, but when she does speak, one had better stop and listen. She loves reading and will spend many hours discussing books and history with her lady. She enjoys needlework and she's quite a good painter as well. She respects Elena greatly and often reassures her. Even though they get on each other's nerves quite often, she's great friends with Naráel. She too will spend a bit of time with Gimli, but only to try and convince him that ripping down trees is inherently bad. Nevertheless, she grows fond of the lord of the Glittering Caves- she and Legolas will try and teach him how to dance. Whether they will succeed is still unknown.

Birth: she entered Arda at the beginning of the Third Age.

Fancast: Rose Williams

Elenya

Maia of Varda (the name is kind of a giveaway).

She's sweet, kind and very protective of Elenna. She often likes to remark how similar their names are and loves to recount stories that most have forgotten (star-related, of course). She was lady-in-waiting to Ilmarë before she volunteered to join Elenna's household.

Birth: she entered Arda during the Years of the Trees.

Fourth Wing/Iron Flame Spoilers below cut!

So...

First off, there was so much world building that I was kind of confused. I just kind of gave up at some point and read it for the characters lol. maybe it's because i didn't re-read fourth wing before.

the names of everything was a little annoying because they were all so unique i spent like two minutes trying to figure out how to pronounce everything. like she has four basic names (liam, sloane, violet, jack) and the rest I'm like ?!?!?!? WHO?

Speaking of Jack...I'm not sure I liked that whole thing. There wasn't any alluding to the fact that he'd be back in the first book, and I feel like he basically appeared out of nowhere in the second. Yes, we knew the healer was helping mend his soul (which is interesting af to me because how many others could they have helped? or is it just because he was a venin?) but the man literally had a fucking mountain dropped on him?! No way he would've survived I'm sorry.

I thought all of the fighting between her and Xaden was kind of annoying...like come on. And we learned so much about xaden but not at all at the same time?! like, now he can read minds, which means violet misinterpreted the sage/venin dreams because I'm assuming they came from xaden now, he was probably projecting them on her subconsciously.

chapter 48 was hot tho, the throne sex stuff, always a banger in my book.

why the hell was everyone keeping so many secrets from violet. like xaden, the dragons, her family...they keep saying how smart she is and stuff but like, that doesn't mean she should have to figure out everyones secrets for themselves?! betrayal.

also, how the fuck does someone become venin? was that explained in the first book or this one because now xaden is somehow one and idk how that happened?!

low-key i'm happy dain and her are getting closer again, but also your childhood's best friend's dad trying to kill you? i feel like that was unwarranted tbh. then he got sent away because of it and i wonder if he's going to make a reappearance.

also, andarna...she was hardly in the damn book. and i didn't think her lines were anything really special. i feel like she's basically only in the book for one specific plot point and the rest she's just off sleeping or with the elders or doing something else so ry doesnt have to write her?

omg the part where nadine said she was violet and that guy immediately snapped her neck was fucking WILD.

and the whole thing with cat was like petty as fuck but her power seems interesting. i enjoyed reading the challenge violet had when she was messing with her emotions.

let's see...i wonder what violet's second signet is going to be. she kept mentioning how well andarna could blend into her surroundings so im wondering if invisibility is one that could happen...or maybe the transportation one that they said hadn't been a thing for a long time. i feel like why mention that if she isn't going to bring that back too.

also, the headers before each chapter scare me. RECOVERED letters from xaden to violet....recovered from where and why whats going to happen 😭

wow, this was a lot of thoughts lol...i also want a bonus chapter from tairn or another dragons pov because i feel like him and sgayl were fighting a lot this book but i want to know what they're saying to each other.

overall, i enjoyed the read and the midnight release experience was so much fun and cute and clever and i def think they should bring those back. maybe for cc3 they'll do that!

This last episode of The Gilded Age made me cry AGAIN. this show is perfection and I am so here for what's coming next. Spoilers under cut cuz I have mutuals who arent caught up to the most recent episode. I'm not talking about EVERYTHING tho cuz I only remember the big parts tbh.

HOLY SHIT okay so first off, Peggy and the reporter guy whose name I always forget KISSED last episode!!!!

So glad Marian was like GIRL HE'S MARRIED TF?!

Also the whole thing with the school closing, like I cannot believe they would just close it because it's a school for black kids wtf 1880's New York!! You're supposed to be more progressive, but yeah stark reminder of the times we're in during the show.

The whole thing with Mrs. Russell and Mrs. Winterton being all petty with each other now that Winterton has some pull with the old guard who are leaving the Academy for the Met??? 🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌. HERE. FOR. IT. love the bargaining to get the center box. Like Winterton, girl, this is BERTHA RUSSELL.

oh and speaking of hbic Mrs. Russell, the Duke is coming to the Met omfg her whole world just ended right there!! The look on her face when Larry and Gladys were like " Hey, were off to the party, see ya!"

That fucking party too!!!! Omfg Dash, I cannot with you!!!!! To like invite everyone that you know to this solarium thing which, baller move btw I would love to have my own solarium in a garden like living the dream

Okay, so this party is popping off too like all the DRAMA

Gladys is getting hit on by ANOTHER bachelor, and Larry comes to the rescue like a protective older brother, we stan.

Oscar and Maud are hella cute together, like I know he's gay and kind of a fortune chaser, and I have a feeling she's got something going on with her...like idk there's just some slightly red tinged flags with her background...I guess we'll see...BUT they kissed too!!!!!! And it was so hot!!!! Like daaamn Oscar!!! I didn't know you could kiss a lady like that!!

So Dashiel puts the party together for the dedication of the solarium, but then as he's making a speech about it, he brings up Marian!!!

And then he starts going on this rant about moving back to NY to have his daughter grow up where he did and he didn't expect to fall in love

Y'all the look on Marian's FACE!!??? it was the same look I had too tbh

HE PROPOSED TO HER!!!!! AND AUNT AGNES WAS ALL ABOUT IT CUZ DUH

Omg and Aunt Ada and Forte were both like UH UH YOU DO NOT WANNA SAY YES WE CAN TELL!!!!

Like everyone was hella shocked and YALL THE SCREAM I SCREAMED WHEN THEY SHOWED LARRY'S FACE!!!! this poor man just got dumped by his boss/milfy widow just to come back to NY and see the other girl he liked get engaged. Big fat L for Larry.

Cut to Jack, he sent in for a patent for that clock piece he invented, and he gets denied because he's not part of a clockmakers guild or whatever.

Fucking Armstrong over here has to shit in his Cheerios and just talk mad shit like I cannot wait for her to say the wrong thing in front of Agnes. like you're on thin ice already because of all the racist shit you did and said to Peggy, Armstrong like what is your game plan???

So Mr. Russell goes to one of the union dudes houses. Like it's the same guy who came to his house but again, I forget their names

They talk for a min and it looks like Russell is having a small change of heart when he sees the man's family. The oldest son who doesn't look more than like 17 tells Russell that he's working in the mill too, to support his family.

Russell leaves and is greeted by a mob of people who work in the mills. Like they brought their families too so you see women with babies in their arms.

Rest of the episode is going back and forth between the smaller plots. Like Bannister and one of the other servants whose name I also forget seeing Church come back to the Russell home drunk, which ended up being that it was the 30th anniversary of the death of Church's wife who died so he got drunk.

Same small plot thing, Mrs. Astor, Mrs. Van Rhijn, and Mr. McAllister all come together to plot how to save the Academy since Winterton is taking a bunch of people and taking them to the Met.

Okay, now for the worst cry I had.

Forte and Ada come to visit Agnes after their honeymoon to Niagara Falls.He had been having some back pain and he went to some doctors

At first it was just like oh here's some pain meds to take care of it, let's go do some tests though.

Well....he goes to another specialist and he tells Forte that he has something more serious.

Cut to Marian coming to visit, she's thinking it's about her engagement to Dash, so she starts to talk about it with Ada

Ada was like "I didn't call for you?"

Forte comes out and says "I did. I need to talk to the both of you." And makes Ada and Marian sit.

Scene cuts to Marian rushing into the Van Rhijn house, Agnes, Oscar, and cousin Aurora are all there.

We find out that Uncle Forte as Marian calls him, has cancer. It's the kind that starts in the back and begins to spread. So it sounds like he has some sort of bone cancer?

Agnes immediately rushed over to Ada

Scene change and we go to Ada and Forte in his bed, she's cuddling him and telling him that they'll get through it. She starts to tear up which makes him cry.

The doorbell rings, and Ada goes downstairs

She sees Agnes there and she runs into her sister's arms.

The sobbing that Cynthia Nixon did here absolutely destroyed me.

Agnes saying to Ada, "I'm here. You've not to worry." Just reminded me of my brother doing that with me when our mom died and it broke me.

Agnes tried to get Ada and Forte to come to the Van Rhijn home but they said no

Props to Ada and Forte. Death with dignity will always be my stance and I think that's what is going to be implied here.

Mad props also go to Mr. Russell for not shooting the strikers. I think he's starting to have a change of heart with the robber baron tendencies.

All in all, GOOD EPISODE. MADE ME CRY. I LOVED IT. can't wait to see how the opening night will go lololol specially cuz Winterton doesn't know about Mr. Russell basically blackmailing the dude from the Met!! Ohohohohhooooo

Just a random thought I had, won't even be canon, probably could be picked apart extremely easily and has probably been thought of before, but I have this kinda small theory.

What if William's hell isn't actually Hell?

Now, I'm no major nerd about the Lore, I only really know the surface level, but here me out at least.

It'll probably get pretty wishy washy with the details, but when have this not in this fandom tbh?

Okay so, what if UCN isn't an actual physical place, but just a dream?

Taking something from The Man in Room 1280, where The Man is being kept alive by Andrew, dead spirit kid wearing an alligator mask.

This min-theory will also have to involve the Golden Duo, which it obviously has to include Cassidy, C.C's involvement will be both a minor yet key role I believe in this.

So, we know Cassidy.

Vengeful kid with a MASSIVE (which is still an understatement) bone to pick with one William Afton for murdering her. In a case, we can believe she died in a particularly gruesome way, far more than the other kids, which is why she's so angry.

Either that, or she's just an extremely petty little ankle biter who can hold a massive grudge for a long time.

Carrying on.

So, we know she has already killed him once, via the springlock suit, and then every other kid done went and passed on. But Cassidy, probably, wasn't satisfied with William's punishment being just death by her, Charlie, and the missing children's hands.

So she stays around, probably assuming that William Afton is still alive, and that's enough to deny her rest.

So, cut forward a while later, and we have another brat that was killed by William Afton, cause we know he killed a lotta brats. This one, is Andrew, who hasn't been able to rest because he doesn't have the knowledge that his killer isn't, well, you know, fucking dead.

Probably also was unable to get his revenge because he was never able to find the fucker.

So, Cassidy tells Andrew that William Afton is still alive and Andrew? Well, how would he be able to tell if she's lying or not? Hell, Cassidy doesn't know for sure if William is alive, but if she acts like she does, shares that she too, was murdered by William and seeking her revenge, and has a noticeable amount of anger behind it.

Who can say what she says isn't true?

So, they strike a deal. Find William Afton, make him suffer for all he's done to them and the other children he's murdered.

I would believe that they would further convince themselves that they aren't doing this just for themselves, but for the other children who was unable to seek their own justice for being murdered.

So, let us assume that Cassidy and Andrew both arrive at the location in FNAF 3, finding the burnt corpse of one William Afton. They then do some fuckery with Agony and the place burning down to create some kind of body that they place him into or whatever.

Said body, made mostly of Agony, is highly unstable and could be easily taken out.

Which is where Andrew would come in.

He keeps William Afton perfectly fine and dandy in the physical world while Cassidy crafts the perfect hell for William Afton. It takes some trial and error, which she gets better and better at crafting it which would cause it to get harder and harder as time goes on.

But, alas, she hit a wall.

She doesn't have enough power to do what she wants, and her ideas are running out.

So she goes to the afterlife.

Not to rest, no, to ponder on how the hell she can make William Afton's dream hell even worse. Leaving Andrew to take control of William's torment, which he gladly takes too.

There, she meets Old Man Consequences, who obviously tells her that she needs to rest and to let go of her hatred because she's dragging this out for longer than it should've been and he already had his punishment yada yada.

Cassidy then laves to wander and ponder.

There, she meets a familiar face.

C.C.

There it was, the perfect piece of the puzzle!

C.C's agony was, and she means it, stronger than her own. His sadness, fear, and well, despair proved to make a far more potent source of Agony than her own fueled by anger and vengeance.

So, she manages to convince him to come back to the living world with her, she needs him, needs his power and she would like to have one of her few friends back and standing at her side.

How could C.C say no, after just a little more convincing?

However, C.C's own recognition of his power and how to use it is, well, certainly far lacking than Cassidy's own. But C.C didn't need to do anything, she just needed permission to tap into his power, and she'll take care off the rest.

When they returned to the living world, Afton's purgatory got worse and worse, changed a bit by Andrew's design, more difficulty, then molded even further by Cassidy's newfound power and C.C's own experiences with the nightmares he's had throughout his life.

Cassidy was the main architect of William Afton's personal hell, Andrew was the one who guarded it's gates and C.C was the source of power making this entire thing possible.

Of course, that doesn't mean that Andrew or C.C couldn't pitch in with new ideas here and there.

I have so many thoughts too, by no means an exhaustive list:

- They’re always grounding forces for each other and trying to save each other

- Buck/Nate have a history of being promiscuous—imagine Eddie is feeling petty after a fight and demands a list from Buck! And then Buck makes two lists, one with only Eddie’s name on it 🥹

- Haley told a story on their first date about feeling like she was the only one who could take care of her mom when she was sick, kind of like Eddie felt responsible for driving his laboring mom to the hospital

- Although different in nature, Nate/Buck’s parents make it clear to their sons that they weren’t wanted and only existed for a singular purpose (Nate to lives out Dan’s failed dreams/Buck to save his brother); Dan then abandoned his other son altogether, and the two eventually united against him like Buck/Maddie did against the Buckleys

- “Always and forever” vs. “have my back”

- Ooh, traumatic incidents with both kids involving water! (Jamie falling in the pool/Chris in the tsunami)

- Nate/Buck dealing with Haley/Eddie “leaving” for extended periods of time

- Haley depression/Eddie PTSD eras

- Buck/Nate for sure have ADHD

- Oh there was a moment when Haley/Nathan were talking to Jamie about handling a school bully and Haley said gave a stern look and something like “Violence isn’t the answer, right, honey?” to Nate; kinda like the video game scene! 🎮

Now I’ve rambled lol, these two shows have me in a chokehold, even though one of them is over 20 years old 😵‍💫 oh and not to be on the nose, but as of a few days ago, we knows there’s a 🏀 theme to both shows

I'm an ambivert, I'm very laid back, and prefer to go with the flow of life but sometimes come off as ego-centric and domineering. tbh I often think I’m above others, yet I am always willing to acknowledge that I’m a total piece of shit [very rarely tho] Sometimes I have fantasies and ideals that I want to start creating or becoming but I give myself a reality check and let the dream fade away. I’m very innovative but still, choose the practical route a lot. It’s easy for me to create goals and envision the end results but it’s ridiculously hard for me to remain committed to the process.

I will never admit my wrong, unless internally. It might come shocking to people who are close to me but I overthink about minor things such as what others might think of me I might not admit it aloud but others opinions matter to me.

I also get bored easily and have commitment problems but at the same time, I consider myself to be pretty loyal. I'm really petty and hold grudges.

Hazbin Hotel Songs Analysis

Aka Rei has a new hyperfixation and has to talk about it or he will explode

Since I basically grew up on Musicals (it's in my blood) and I do appreciate a hell centered cartoon/animation, of course my new fav is Hazbin Hotel.

Since the first episode I can't stop listening to the songs and well... my theorist brain is doing overtime. So here's a layman analysis of the music.

I will get to my theories about the story and such at some later point.

Let's go! Spoilers ahead, duh.

First of all: Sam Haft is a genius. Alex Brightman is amazing. And every character has a genre or at least signature instrument. And obviously a lot of my own opinions.

Happy Day in Hell

We basically get hit in the face with a classical Musical Number and get to know Charlie's dream and her musical style. Plus some small hints at Vaggie's background.

The music and the style is very reminiscent of Overtures from modern Musicals, which is very fitting.

Hell Is Forever

Already a callback to previous songs, but fast. Once Adam starts the genre switch to rock, which is Adam's signature style.

Before his guitar solo is a pretty nice reference.

The message is basically "Fuck you, I do what I want bitch"

Stayed Gone

Ah yes, the sexual tension /hj

The beginning is very rhythmical, controlled and straight (ha). Once Vox gets going it gets more swingy with repeated patterns. The quick parts show what a talker he is.

Alastor slides in and slowly takes the song over like in Hells Greatest Dad. Also the piano gets a bit more present once Alastor joins.

In the end Alastor completely took over.

It Starts With Sorry

At first this song seemed so random, but well. Now it makes sense.

When Sir Pentious starts singing, in the background there's a guitar mimicking snake Rattles.

Again a very Broadway song. I cannot get over that this again is Alex Brightman!

Respectless

I love it.

Carmilla's theme is obviously Latin with a Spanish guitar. And Velvet's Hip Hop or at least something similar, not sure because not my type of music.

Zestials small part shows how adaptable he is.

Whatever It takes

Hopefully we get more songs with Zestial.

Again it starts with guitar, and turns into a amazing power ballad. It shows Carmillas passion and devotion to her family.

Veggies part on the other hand is so "weak". Which totally makes sense, since she is still so scared. We also get some hints again. In the background you can hear a kind of glockenspiel.

The duet makes now more sense. Daphne Rubin-Vega is crushing it, amazing voice.

Poison

Ah yes, the controversial song. Tbh stop, listen again and start thinking. Chill.

EDM seems to be Angel's genre which is so fitting.

The lyrics are heartbreaking. No, he is not glorifying his abuse, he doesn't know another way. Angel has given up, he is trapped. So the least he can do is have fun. He's already in Hell, so fuck it.

The last chorus. Ah! This is not Angel Dust, this is Anthony breaking down.

Loser, Baby

No one was prepared for this. Keith David could fuck me just with his voice, respectfully.

Husk's style is kinda idk, brass ig. But don't quote me on that.

The lyrics are perfect and so relatable.

Fun Fact someone on TikTok pointed out: Husk offers Angel his hand and only pulls him along when Angel takes his hand. We stan a gentleman.

Hell's Greatest Dad

Electro Swing! The title alone shows Lucifers Pride. And how much he cares about Charlie.

Again Alastor butting in to take control. God, he loves being that guy.

The violin solo, such a nice reference.

Headcanon: Mimzy waited for the perfect time to bust in.

More Than Anything

Ah yes, the midpoint dramatic ballad duet.

It's so boring but sweet. They harmonize so nicely. Who doesn't love a good healthy bonding song.

Also harmonies in this song a peak.

Welcome To Heaven

I know this voice! Blaine from Glee went to Heaven!

The style is so clean and fake, perfect. Also organ.

The lyrics are low-key petty. Also Molly?!

You Didn't know

Such a dramatic song, very musical end of act 1.

Love the switch when Lute starts singing, again with rock but much more controlled than with Adam.

Emily's theme is also very mousy in the beginning.

The callback to Hell Is Forever is so nice, the harmonies though...

Big reveal at the end. Adam is a Dick. (Hehe)

Out For Love

Heck yea! Carmilla centered song.

Very Latin and passionate, love it, still with a modern flair.

Tbh Carmilla is underrated.

Ready For This

You go girl! Again very Broadway.

Once the cannibals join in it gets more old-timey, which fits the period the Town is in. Really sounds like a cheery war song.

Rosie and Alastors dynamic is amazing, just two queer besties being their true self.

This song also gets us excited for the final battle and stills shows Charlie's anxiety.

More Than Anything (Reprise)

This was torture. Normally a Reprise is very telling, example Hamilton.

I was so scared for Vaggie. Still amazing song, good representation.

Finale

What an ending! I was in tears.

The little callbacks amazing, Lucifer being there for his daughter. Everyone supporting her now. It's really a perfect Finale song.

Vox and Valentino being gay and their usual self.

Alastor's part reaks of foreshadowing. No, Alturist is probably not his surname. And no, he doesn't really care about Charlie and Co, he is there for power.

Conclusion

Amazing music and storytelling. Perfect for the mental ill 18+ theater nerds.

The Living Tombstone are amazing! Listen to their music.

Looking forward to the next season.

Hello! Happy Storyteller Saturday to you too.

This is a very interesting question, so thanks for that. To be honest, I haven't really thought deeply about this for all of my characters... but I have a couple of ideas for some of them that are actually made relevant within their arcs throughout the story.

Here are some of the memories/thoughts that haunt the characters in my main WIP:

Stephanie

Not really cringy, but she has a lot of crazy intrusive thoughts/nightmares about her late foster sister Melanie. They had a complicated relationship... Mel tried her best to be nice, and welcome Steph into her home, but Steph never fully grew to like or trust her, or any of her foster family members tbh. They fought a lot and ended up on bad terms. After a serious altercation between them, Stephanie has had enough and runs away from home. Shortly after running away, she hears that Mel is dead, and feels super guilty that her last interaction with her foster sister was a fight over something small. (Her dreams get progressively more intense as the story goes on... from basic petty arguments to violent vicious beatdowns that end with Mel getting severely injured. Stephanie gets troubled by her dreams and doesn't know how to deal with them.)

Stephanie is in a serious romantic relationship with a guy named Ben, who eventually has to leave the country for a year due to this work opportunity he got. So they go long distance for a while, and its really hard for her... to the point where she starts getting really paranoid about the possibility of Ben cheating on her (and even has nightmares about it). She tells her friends about her dreams and worries, and they find it funny lol (since it doesn't sound like something Ben would do). This embarrasses Steph a lot.

Elise

Usually a happy character but has her fair share of not-so-happy moments and memories lol. She used to love getting involved in school things, but kind of withdraws later on due to this really complicated family incident... (this is sort of a spoiler for a future post, but imma say it anyway) Her older brother Adam got his girlfriend pregnant while he was still at school, which was a difficult thing for her family to deal with. It was tough for her, too (I mean, her brother ended up getting kicked out! Luckily, she's still managed to maintain a close relationship with him tho), especially once the rest of the school found out about it. It became the main conversation topic everywhere she went. She'd even get teased about it (especially in her old choir that she was a part of. The rumours and teasing got so much for El that she just couldn't be there anymore, despite how much she loved it).

Alice

She asked out a crush from her old school, and got rejected in a really embarrassing way lol. He ended up telling everyone else in their class about it, making fun of the way she phrased the question. By the end of the day, even her sister knew (and she goes to a different school). Alice was humiliated, and this affected the way she views romance and dating to this day.

These are the main ones... although, I'm sure I could think about more examples for the other characters if I tried.

How do you think a Griffguts roleswap would play out?

Like Godhand Guts vs Black Swordsman Griffith?

I honestly can’t imagine what would drive Guts to make a godhand sacrifice lol, I’ve tried to think of something before and couldn’t. But assuming there is something that could drive him to sacrifice the Band then, yk, I think it could be an interesting premise. I could see a Beast of Darkness version of Guts being much more overtly obsessed with Griffith than Femto was with Guts, because Femto’s aloofness comes from Griffith’s desire to escape his feelings imo, while Guts may not have that exact desire necessarily when he makes the sacrifice.

As an incarnate Godhand idk what Guts would want lol. To be the biggest and strongest I guess. Maybe he’d be more like Gaiseric and build a shitty empire just to prove he’s the best, rather than to create a utopia lol. OR maybe he’s obsessed with getting Griffith’s attention and admiration but evily. Idk where that could go though, at least not in something aiming for the canon tone rather than, yk, porny fanfic lol. Guts builds an empire just to get Griffith’s attention and feel like his superior and there’s a ton of homoerotic suggestiveness when they meet. Griffith is still the one pretending (badly) not to care about Guts beyond wanting to kill him.

Anyway, onto Griffith. tbh he’s a little difficult to imagine because he doesn’t have Guts’ tenacity when it comes to preserving his own life. Frankly it’s hard for me to envision a post-Eclipse Griffith who doesn’t just give up and get possessed and killed by ghosts. Unless he had something to strive for, some reason to believe his dream is still achievable, or if he becomes just as obsessed with revenge as he was for his dream. Maybe his motivation of making sure the mountain of bodies behind him wasn’t for nothing ends up twisting into desperately needing to avenge them/his dream.

Anyway if he does end up persevering like Guts did I’d love to see Femto getting all Beast of Darkness-y and taunting Griffith in his dreams. Can’t imagine a better use for Black Swordsman-style petty Femto. Also Femto berserk armour would be cool as fuck. I’ve thought about it before and I imagine that Griffith’s thing in the armour would be precision rather than wild destruction, like imagine him striding through a group of monsters and eviscerating each one almost robotically, arm casually snapping backwards to catch someone behind him... sure it doesn’t fit the definition of “berserker” but it would fit Griffith and it would be cool.

Also I think Griffith would hate Puck more than Guts did at first. Like he’d actually hate him, idk if they’d work as a duo lol. I just don’t see Griffith taking well to an empath who can sense his feelings and calls him out on it. In general I can’t really see Griffith following Guts’ Millenium Falcon arc lol. I could see him protecting Casca and choosing to help her a lot more readily than Guts did, assuming the Casca situation was the same (big assumption ik, but w/e). Not because Griffith cares about her more (though he might, honestly, platonically) but because being strong for Casca is specifically how he helps shore himself up and bury his own feelings and I think he’d leap at the chance to be her protector. And he would also want her mind back as the last remnant of the Hawks.

Though it would be a sidequest for sure for him, he’d know he’s going back to getting revenge after, because if that’s what replaces his dream then Casca’s not gonna be much of a distraction. He might assume Casca would join him when she’s restored. And he might be right.

And I suppose I can see Griffith gathering followers, I mean Guts gathering the rpg group is kind of a parallel to Golden Age Griffith already lol, so it’s not much of a stretch. Actually yeah I can imagine him following much the same plot as Guts, but with the caveat that there’s definitely no actual personal growth there, it’s Griffith putting on his facade again.

Finally had a Byler Dream™ (is that a rite of passage at this point?) and I woke myself up by being too excited to jump on tumblr and gloat about it before I even finished the episode... So in that spirit I'm going to share the dream with y'all because it was very intense. I've edited slightly for clarity bc dream logic, but don't take this as fanfiction or headcanon or anything cuz it does NOT actually make any canonical sense.

It started with some promotional material they had which we were trying to analyze. It was only in very blurry subtitles/some flash of Mike's internal landscape via the upside down that showed him being anxious abt his feelings towards Eddie for some reason, like showing he had a crush/need for approval from him. I managed to find some screencap that was more clear and seemed to be someone telling Mike something about taking pride in himself so I was like "oh that's 100% gay" and trying to post about it but it got removed because it was too much of a spoiler they'd accidentally released.

Then suddenly they had dropped the next episode of Stranger Things, out of the blue basically. I was watching it with a group of people and I'm pretty sure there was more than just the Byler but tbh that was the only part my brain tuned in on.

It went like this- Mike was paired off with Steve and Robin, and they had all gone to this strange facility to find something but were now stuck in the upside down. They had figured out that very intense emotions could re-open gates to escape the Upside Down, so they were sitting together trying to come up with memories they had that could help them. They went around, with Robin/Steve not being able to think of something quite strong enough even though they had some intense stuff. When it got to Mike, he said something about his feelings for a girl (for some reason it wasn't El, just a petty crush). Robin suddenly goes "come on, you're going to pull that straight romance shit here?". Mike is confused, Robin asks Steve to back her up but he sort of chimes in like "C'mon, I don't want to do that like this." Robin goes ahead anyways, and says "yeah, I bet all we'd have to do is to get you to read out your diary and the portal would start opening, there's gotta be some intense emotions in there all about Will". She's slightly mocking, she's pissed about being stuck in the UD/doesn't feel positively about Mike. Mike is still insistent he doesn't know what she's talking about although he's starting to get uncomfortable. Robin says that it's fairly obvious, finally gets Steve to back her up so he chimes in like "as a kind of surrogate big brother to all you kids, I've had to see the relationship between you two over the years... At first maybe it was just friendship, and maybe you could brush it off as Will feeling a certain way, but I've also seen you", and then it starts showing this montage thing of Mike/Will. It also does show Mike having a crush on Eddie to show it isn't just coming from Will. He goes on "it's your choice if you want to make it platonic, but you've been doing this to this poor boy for years, I hoped you knew what you were doing because I don't want to see Will get hurt". (He's taking on the role of Jonathan a bit here as well as Eddie in a way, apparently my brain can't tell the difference between brotherly older dudes with long hair). Mike is starting to realize now, freaking out, a sort of wind picks up around them/electricity is crackling and shit. He did know about his feelings, but he's freaking out about the idea of them being obvious to others and at the thought of confronting them, especially of telling Will.

Robin comes in a little more gently, maybe regretting how she had acted, saying something like "I know it's scary but you can't just keep running from it. You're the only one who can do this, you have to take some pride in yourself" (or something a little more heartfelt probably). Mike still pushes them both away, he's sort of sobbing at this point, and finally cracks start forming and a portal tears open. They manage to all get through the portal, back into the regular world, and somehow meet back up with the rest of the group. They're being questioned on what happened, but Steve and Robin only give the barebones of what they were doing and how they got out. Mike is still basically shellshocked by the whole situation, like still shaking, but trying to hide his tears and shit. He still hasn't met back up with Will.

Hi, I have previously written to you but it was a very vague description. I am very torn between INFJ and INFP and 4w5 ( I thought I am a 5w4 with the RHETI test)

I have had a typing crisis for around a year. Many people view me as an xxTx type because I am straight to the point and honest ( even if it brings me lots of anxiety which turns into anger). I care about the opinion of my loved ones and when I was younger I wanted to be liked by my bullies so they could leave me alone, then I became much more individualistic after I got into a healthy environment (uni). I have always wanted to help people which is why I chose medicine as a major. ( Previously wanted to be a lawyer for the same reason - justice and helpfulness). I am prompted to daydream as a coping mechanism from day to day life and because of my stressful school life. I have always protected those weaker than me even if I was betrayed - I always stand for justice in situations.

That sounds a lot like a 9w8 to me, instead of an image type. Gut-reactions -- going along to get along and be left alone, but firing up in defense of people who cannot protect themselves. Escaping into an inner world to avoid the outer one (a 9 technique). The gut types (1, 8, 9) are the most concerned with "justice" in the world. If you are a 4, where's your elitism? Your brokenness defining you? Your hatred of petty, trite, superficial things? Your annoyance that people don't get you (and pleasure that they don't)?

When I was a child:

When I was young ( by my mom's words) I was very in my head Child, obedient, kind, smiley and could stare into a wall for w.g and not get bored, I could entertain myself with either my own inner world or surroundings. <- this suggests introversion for sure and also the withdrawn triad (which supports 9)

I cared a lot for my friends and actually having friends ( so I could live the normal child experience). I have been stomped over by lots of people because of my loyalty and naivety ( hurting my loved ones in the process) <- this is general high feeling

I loved to play outside imagining I am an archaeologist and hated when neighborhood kids hurt insects (cutting their heads off etc) because I believed that the insects can feel pain and it isn't fair or good for them. <- more high feeling

Now:

I am much more organized but also lost, because I constantly try to find myself through such systems. I have lost myself in the serving of others and became a much worse person to my loved ones. (Also developing anger issues) <- more 9w8 stuff? Over-serving others and not attending to your own needs is more Fe than Fi.

I am constantly torn between being brutally honest and very supportive. Being original and following the crowd too. <- more attachment (9) -- feeling like you should go along with things, be supportive, follow the crowd, while also wanting to be individualistic. The brutal honesty is iffy. Low Te can be super blunt since it has no real social filter, but Fe is more inclined to think they need to be supportive to maintain harmony with others.

I have ambitions and dreams that I have had for years (becoming a vascular surgeon) even if I change them I always return to them. <- this could indicate Ni, yes.

I want to make a change in the world whether it's making a whole new refined anatomy book or just seeing people being happy. <- more evidence against 4 as a core. You're too focused on other people, and on bringing positivity to the world (a "happy" / positive number like 9 or 7 or 2, and I also see some 2, tbh)

I am much more active in holding my ground and not giving a f...care! Yes, care whether or not people like me or what I do is pleasant for them. <- I would say Fe + 9 at this point. Concern for others influencing your decisions is Fe -- because Fe's think about how their actions impact others, not just themselves.

By the description of my mother I am a very purposeful person who is hard headed when they want to do something and doesn't sway her dreams easily. <- again, more 9 stubbornness.
