Gray and Graysons

One of the Bats has a secret. Something they never told to the others.

They were so very young but they have memories of a sibling, so small and tiny. They remember the burst of warmth they had in their heart when they held the tiny baby for just a moment.

But they weren’t allowed to keep them, their family couldn’t raise them. Money was tight, just enough for three but not for four, despite their shows always bringing in a crowd it was getting harder and harder for the world to be wowed by them in the new age and their sibling was too small and tiny and needed to be cared in a single place than for them to be on the road. Their lifestyle was not good for his tiny sibling apparently.

They had to watch as their parents gave his sibling away to people in suits, them promising to give his baby brother to a loving family when they find a ‘home’ for him. He watched his parents try to be strong only for his mother to break down once the car left down the road, his father holding her and apologizing, the rest of the circus troupe all silently coming over to give the heartbroken family condolences.

Richard ‘Dick’ Grayson had tears running down his face when he last saw his baby brother.

A brother he got to name before he had to be given away.

Daniel ‘Danny’ Grayson.

Dick never told the others. If anyone dug deep into his past they might find his brother’s birth records maybe, if someone got around to digitizing the paperwork for him but given the fact he was placed in the US childcare systems just a few days after his birth and the fact that Dick was still pretty young they most likely believed he didn’t remember his baby brother now. Not after so many years.

But they were wrong, Dick remembers. And he kept the secret close to his heart and memories.

And the only physical evidence he had was a single picture of him holding his brother, a smile on his tiny face towards their father who had taken the photo of them together. When he had lost his parents, lost most of the things that connected him to them, to his past in the circus that had been his whole life, had been taken from him in Gotham’s ruthless childcare system, he held on tight to the picture in secret. Hid it away from anyone trying to rip it from him, hid it from Bruce when the man took him in days later, hid it from Alfred despite how gentle the butler was towards him. He couldn’t, wouldn’t risk losing his photo at the time, he hadn’t trusted anyone and by the time he did he didn’t have the heart to reveal it.

So yes, the existence of his baby brother Danny was his most guarded and best kept secret.

So that’s why Dick, as Nightwing, nearly died from a heart attack when leaving a Justice League meeting he spotted a familiar face among one of the new engineers working in the Watchtower.

It was like seeing a young version of himself. Only, Dick could see that the young man was more than a copy of him, so much more than a clone. He held many traces of John Grayson but also had a bit more of Mary Grayson than Dick did. Small details that Dick foggely remembers taking note when he had held his baby brother.

“Hey, hurry up with that report Gray!” Shouted the head engineer from down the hall, his hand beckoning the young adult to come over.

“Coming! And boss, I told you Danny is fine!” Danny shouted back before hurriedly leaving a stunned Nightwing.

Also, justice for Lizzie!! I was so hoping for her placing high this season, she is the epitome of tragedy in my opinion.

Her first season: Plagued by the biggest betrayal the Life Series has ever witnessed. Her downfall was the fault of her allies. She was even permanently taken out by a fellow red name in a play for a life which never came to fruition. Her death was a senseless sacrifice.

In Secret Life: While it may have been a ploy to complete her task, no one showed up to Lizzie’s Birthday. NO ONE WAS EVEN DOING ANYTHING! They still didn’t come. Lizzie was never shown true loyalty by anyone. Except her Husband. And because of that loyalty, she took on something silly in order to help him. Despite telling Cleo multiple times to wear a pumpkin in the last episode, despite her LITERALLY LIVING IN A PUMPKIN PATCH, she still died to an Enderman. She was so close to killing Scott to, she just needed another well placed hit, or anything really! It was so accidental. Everything that could have gone wrong did. She even had an enderpearl, but she didn’t react quick enough. And isn’t that just Lizzie’s life series definer? She needed to react to Bdubs quicker, she needed to push Scott on that edge, she needed to throw the enderpearl, and so much more.

Small tragic accidents have always been Lizzie’s downfall.

It’s not a curse, not really anyways. Not for a player like Lizzie. Because here’s the thing, she is so good at this game. She has a hand in all of the skills that make a winner. Style, social, strategy, build, PvP, Redstone, etc. she has it all. She set’s herself apart and yet can’t help but lean into chaos. She can’t help but lean to much into the chaos. She’s erratic instead of calculated. She’s as Chaotic Good as they come and that’s why it’s not a curse. It’s just her nature.

With all that being said, please don’t make Lizzie’s death about the Canary Curse. She is more than that. Don’t forget.

Im sharing my therapy discussions publicly online here like some kind of idiot like what ive realized is that i was in a relationship that was Pretty Good and like a relationship should be more than Pretty Good. and if i am going to be in a relationship that is Totally Awesome Epic Style it will not be with a man. idk maybe that makes me a lesbian? but also ik a lot of lesbians are like eugh dating/having sex with men sounds gross and i am personally like Eh its alright we had some good times. i actually like very much liked the sex he was very good at sex. regardless of how i identify which tbh is not that important to me in this moment in time i cannot ever see myself with a man again like i think that chapter of my life is over

Weighted blankets are amazing until you have to mash your sheets and then you have to remove all your pillows and blankets and plushies from your bed and you regret all your life choices.

Why do you need “proof” of two people living in separate residences in order to believe their relationship is over?

Why is what you’re seeing - things you didn’t have to go digging for, btw - not enough of a statement?

Why does the idea of one half still hanging around the original house so bothersome when there are kids, very young kids!, that *should* be eased into a single parent household? (You guys treat this like a failed engagement they can easily move on from when there are other opinions and feelings that matter…)

Ok so I’m thinking abt all the other times I’ve gotten indications that I’m actually kinda more attractive than I think of myself as being..

And it’s really surreal tbh

Like. I think the most notable thing is my first gf and how she was consistently asking for me to send selfies to her and always commenting on how cute and pretty I was..(keep in mind I was known as a girl at this time) and it was the first time I’d ever gotten that kind of attention before and it was so foreign but god it felt nice to be liked like that!

Even tho she turned out to be lesbian (she id’ed as pansexual at the time) and I turned out to be a guy (possibly gay and not bisexual, still figuring that out tbh) it was very nice while it lasted and she was a really sweet person and she was also the first person to really make me feel wanted in that particular way so to Ardy, wherever you are, thank you and I hope you’re doing well <3

new therapist update. we just had our first session and she is AMAZING in every single way. i feel so fucking lucky

#purrs #i had a horrible couple hours earlier today so i am feeling shaken from that and it’s hard to process the goodness of that. but it was so #good. she matched my energy and we’ve been thru some of the same stuff and she validated me abt things i have never a) told anyone before b) #gotten validation about. so it was really good. im so lucky and so excited to work with her. and she even stayed on w me for an extra half #hour so i could answer all her questions thoroughly 🥹 i wish i wasn’t in so much pain that i can’t acually register how good that was now th #that im not in it but omg. i am so happy. also she kinda informally diagnosed me w trauma spectrum stuff and said that’s how we’ll approach #all my other stuff and she said she has so many ideas abt how to work w me and so much energy she was ready to take a power walk LOLLLL :’~D #she was the first person i found. i was immediately drawn to her. i was a little alarmed when she automatically assumed we would be working #together and also she spelled my last name wrong in the portal which DAMN it i forgot to tell her about omg. but yeah im so glad. it was #meant to be and she said so too. I’m now kind of laughing about the pictures of Daniel today with ZB, knowing this was going to drop today. Like I know he was being genuine because he’s too nice but I like to think it was in the back of his mind.
