(All) Can I ask where the idea of your games come from (when did you have them and if there was a specific inspiration)?
Honestly, it's hard to really say where inspiration comes from. Part of The One Chosen (for example) comes from a discussion I had with a friend about a world where everything runs on the concept of Destiny, what would happen if someone was born without any Destiny? Later on, this kind of idea became "what if the Chosen One was accidentally replaced by someone without a Destiny?" And the story grew from there.
Meanwhile, Totem Force is one of my oldest story ideas, with its initial roots back when I was a teenager: the story of four or five teens who discovered an alien spaceship that (for some reason) looked like a giant skull... (yes, this initial version would also inspire the show-within-a-show, Super Awesome Magic Anime Battle Team!) Later on, it got far more anime-inspired, taking inspiration from both mecha and 'mon animes to become the story it is now. (Ironically, the Power Rangers/Super Sentai aesthetic was one of the last additions, added as I was literally writing the first chapter.) I kinda want to go into more detail about the evolution of this story, but this probably isn't the best place.
Lovecraft Academy has one of the most obvious inspirations: the works of HP Lovecraft. The school aspect comes from early British school stories (mainly by Charles Hamilton, a man who is possibly the most prolific author in history, across dozens of magazines and over twenty pen names), which I enjoy in part because it's usually very easy to spot gay couples in the stories, even if the writers didn't realise it themselves... And given the time periods, a crossover between a Lovecraftian horror and a group of Hamiltonian schoolboys seemed completely natural. (As a warning to anyone interested: Lovecraft's works are pretty infamously racist, and while Hamilton's do feel more well-intentioned, he was definitely a product of his time, too.)
And Unearth Your Gays, as well as being obviously based on various different types of undead, mainly comes from how many Interactive Fiction romances kept ending up dying on me...

Thoughts on the new Pokémon games? Any favorite Pokémon or characters?
They are pretty good! My favorite character is Nemona and my favorite Pokemon is Chi-Yu, who I have lovingly named "Splashy".
I do have some more in-depth thoughts if you want to keep reading.
Graphics (5/10)
Probably some of the worst I've seen in a mainline game, despite the character and Pokemon models being really high-quality.
The low-quality draw distance is to be expected, but it's still pretty jarring seeing NPCs without their hand animations fully rendered. Some hands would look like 🤚 when holding a Pokeball or even just a pencil.
The environments are really lackluster, and the weather can cause the frame rate to drop into the single digits.
Glitches are plentiful, but not in a good way. Pokemon spawning in walls, HP bars glitching in Tera Raids, environments glitch when camera is not at an optimal angle, etc.
However, the Pokemon's textures look absolutely fantastic. I love how shiny the Magnemite line looks. :3 I kinda wish the particle effects were better on Pokemon like Skeledirge and Chi-Yu, but that's ok.
Story (10/10)
I'm so glad the story ended up so much better in SV than in SwSh. I remember not being able to play through Shield after playing Sword because of how boring the story was. Not this time, though. SV continued to keep me engaged throughout the whole thing.
(SPOILER ALERT) I kinda wish they put more effort into making Scarlet and Violet different from each other regarding the AI Sada and Turo. I don't think it would have been too farfetched to have Sada a golem because of the existence of legendary titans.
Arven's story is fantastic, and although he is not a favorite character of mine, I've really warmed up to him after learning his goal in healing his Mabosstiff.
Gameplay (7/10)
I really thought Gym Leaders, Titans, and Team Star Battles would be scaled. That would have been really cool...
I was deeply saddened that they decided to remove the majority of the QoL features from PLA, and reverted to its traditional turn-based gameplay. It isn't bad by any means, but it makes the game slower than it should be.
Being able to sneak up on Pokemon and catching them off-guard was really fun, but I wish it can be applied to also catching them and not just battling them.
However, auto-battling is really cool and fun!! I love it! Being able to bring out my Pokemon and battle other wild Pokemon really sped things up.
Follower Pokemon are back!! Although I kinda wished they changed the speeds of some of the Pokemon when they're running/walking with you. Chien-Pao, I know you have a walking animation, please just relax and walk with me!!
RIP sparkling sounds when finding shiny Pokemon. I understand that it makes finding them more exciting, but I think it makes it harder for those who have difficulty telling colors apart to find them. I don't really get having to remove a feature that would otherwise make finding shiny Pokemon more accessible to others.
Characters (8/10)
Although no one really got me all "doki-doki" like Guzma has, the cast was absolutely fantastic this time around.
I love that almost all of the gym leaders have their gym challenges as something they do on the side. Their passion is something else that they're into and they bring it into their Pokemon battles, whether it's baking, creating art, streaming, cooking, etc.
The Elite Four is fantastic, too. It's great seeing another Gym Leader become another member of the Elite Four. :3
That said, I don't trust Geeta.
Please help Larry.
Overall Score (7.5/10)
Pretty good! It's a good start to an open-world Pokemon game, but kinda falls behind compared to other open-world games out there that have surpassed it by a long shot and were released earlier! I mean like. The franchise is nearing its 30th anniversary and it still doesn't have voice acting of any kind.
It's an obvious result of dev crunch, and I really hope they space out release dates if it means getting better games. However, I don't think this will happen anytime soon.

I want to hear your thoughts about the HP movies! So here go a number of asks, you of course don’t have to answer all of them (or any), but consider this an invitation to share!!
Which movie choice do you think…
-was the most pointless (there’s just nothing to be gained from the change and yet they did it anyway)?
-had the most outsized or lasting impact on how a character is viewed by the fandom?
-was actually a positive change?
-annoys you personally the most?
Thank you for this very excellent ask!! I will absolutely be answering all these questions.
Which movie choice do you think…
-was the most pointless (there’s just nothing to be gained from the change and yet they did it anyway)?
There are so many but the most obvious answer is casting Lavender Brown as white. Not only was there nothing to gain, but there was a lot to lose and it was just needlessly racist. I'm also not a fan of how Jessie Cave played her, but it's unclear how much of that was her choice and how much of it was the direction. She didn't play it like a 16 year old with a crush, but like she was a fangirl. Ron was just another kid in her class, it made no sense. When you have a crush at that age you might put the person on a pedestal, even idealize them without knowing them well, but the way she fawned over him was almost vaudevillian in how over the top it was. Her performance made the whole thing feel like a caricature, not an immature high school relationship. Knowing that she was given the role over a black actress only to give this performance feels like it was definitely a pointless change, but then, so many other choices in the films were too...
It also made that relationship and its effect on Ron too simplistic. It was part of his character to be awkward and inexperienced, and the main reason he went into that relationship was because these factors made him feel insecure and because it fed his ego. That's an important aspect of a character who's the youngest son in a family with 5 older brothers most of whom were high achievers, and whose best friend is famous. But then Ron's whole character arc of being fed up with being overlooked when Harry's name comes out of the goblet in GoF is shoved aside in that film as well, so why would HBP suddenly treat him as three dimensional? There was a lot of character development that Ron went through in HBP, in large part due to his relationship with Lavender, which was left out of the film completely as a result of how simplistically and cartoonishly Lavender herself was portrayed. It's one of many examples of ways in which the films didn't try to tell a story, but instead seemed like frantic efforts to check plot points off a list in order to get to the end.
Which movie choice do you think…
-had the most outsized or lasting impact on how a character is viewed by the fandom?
Hagrid. He's a complex and problematic character who doesn't seem to have formed friendships with students other than Harry, Ron, and Hermione. And if it weren't for his friendship with Harry, then Ron and Hermione wouldn't have spent time with him either, let alone formed a relationship (which Hermione did, at least, as we see in PoA). We see throughout the books that the other students are, at best, ambivalent about him, and at worst don't like his teaching style or his choice of creatures. We see this especially when Professor Grubbly-Plank subs for Hagrid and several students are vocally enthused about her, to the point of saying they hope she replaces Hagrid permanently after just one lesson.
Harry's connection with Hagrid is profound, because Hagrid was not only the one who welcomed him into the magical world and hand-delivered his Hogwarts letter, but also knew his parents and is a connection to them. Harry loves him not because he's big and cuddly and dumb, but because as a child looking for any kind of parental figures to latch onto, Hagrid was the first person he met who actively wanted to take care of him, did so when he took him to Diagon Alley, and continued to do so in welcoming him in his cabin and having him for tea regularly. Hagrid gives him advice at times, and is fiercely loyal. He also endangers Harry on several occasions and asks inappropriate favors of him, and these things altogether are what make Hagrid so complex. He plays a significant role in Harry's life, but not really in any of the other students'.
If you take the films on the whole, then by the end of the second film Hagrid is set up as this jolly giant beloved by the whole school (mostly because Steve Kloves/Chris Columbus didn't know how to end the film so they just focused on Hagrid's return from Azkaban - I can't even talk about Hagrid getting sent to prison with no proof or trial and that going completely unaddressed 👀JKR). Throughout the rest of the films we see Hagrid as someone who the trio have a relationship with only when it's relevant to the plot. They don't go to his for tea just to be social, and that's something that could have been fit in in ways that simultaneously offered plot development. I think it's a consistent problem in the films that moving the plot forward is prioritized without attention to developing relationships or understanding how that feeds into character and story development. In a franchise based on a book series that people latched onto because of their love for the characters, it's startling to see how little attention was paid to the thing that spoke to readers most.
Most of Hagrid's creatures like the skrewts or even nifflers are left out, as are many other elements that serve to color the wizarding world and make it feel more tangible. The only "monstrous" creature we see Hagrid teaching in the films is Buckbeak who is alone and not part of a flock and is left out of subsequent films. Care of Magical Creatures is left out of OOtP completely and it isn't even in class that Harry learns what thestrals are, but then Professor Grubbly-Plank isn't in the films at all. All the scenes where Hagrid is drunk around the kids are left out, as well as most of the ways he endangers them in various ways. If it weren't for Umbridge's bit in the forest, Grawp would have been left out of OOtP altogether (and tbh since she was carried off by centaurs anyway, he could have been).
Tl;dr the films exaggerated Hagrid into a big, cuddly, silly giant of a man who showed up when it was convenient for the narrative and didn't present any of the problems or challenges he did in the books.
(Runner up answer to this question is Hermione, who's portrayed as a two dimensional matriarchal harpy with consistent characteristics - like calling Ron "Ronald" which is... pointless and overly formal - that make her out to be an uptight school marm. Her personality is chopped at the knees and her main role is to be the voice of exposition, not a character unto herself with her own growth and development. Third place is the Dursleys who were an excellent bit of social commentary and contrast to Harry's world as well as a relevant example of abuse that informed Harry's character and emphasized parallels between him and Voldemort as well as him and Snape, but I'm trying to keep my answers to one thing. The general answer to this question is honestly just "omg everyone, everyone, every character was changed in pointless and terrible ways, help me understand why." The fact that Snape isn't even in the top three on this list tells you everything, because I could write a whole essay on that alone.)
Which movie choice do you think…
-was actually a positive change?
Leaving out Nearly Headless Nick and his Deathday Party in CoS. It added color to the book but not much else and it makes sense it was left out of the film. It would have added nothing to it. And that film was enough of a mess without it, let's be honest. I also don't mind that most of Rita Skeeter's bullshit was left out of GoF. I get that Rowling was making a comment on the press with her character, but I felt Skeeter was more of a result of Rowling having resentment after becoming famous by the time she sat down to write the book and GoF being the first one where her editor gave her free reign. It's uncomfortable the way this grown woman who's a successful journalist goes after literal children and has a petty feud with them. It's not even a reasonable parallel for how famous children are treated by the press because most of them either have a publicist or a parent who has one, they aren't expected to go up against journalists on their own. But then, Rowling's metaphors are often not fully thought through.
Which movie choice do you think…
-annoys you personally the most?
I'm lumping them as one choice but really it's the same choice made over and over and over again and I hate it so much it makes me want to throw hands:
"I know."
Character development is consistently choked by using this device of, "I know what you're thinking," "I know you're going to ask," and other variations of the same. Sometimes it's more subtle, like when Dumbledore takes Harry to meet Slughorn and Harry says, "I just apparated, didn't I?" but it's the same thing again and again. There's no reason Harry couldn't say, "what the?--" and Dumbledore couldn't answer, "I'm sorry, I forgot to ask if you had ever apparated before." Or, in a surprise plot twist, it could have been presented as it was in the book, with Dumbledore simply asking Harry if he'd done it before and Harry replying no and having a new experience. The change in the film offers nothing. It's boring. It deliberately prevents characters from being challenged and growing as a result. It's also often, but not always, Hermione who offers this kind of exposition, because that's her main purpose in the films and she needs a job, I guess? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I just don't see the point of it. It feels very much like soap opera writing. In terms of writing and meeting a studio production's expectations, you wouldn't gain page numbers or screen time if you had a character ask a question that another had to think about and answer. When Harry goes up to Katie Bell in HBP, there's no reason he can't ask her how she is and then what she remembers, instead of her saying "I know you're going to ask but I don't know." It would have used op the same amount of space on the page and the same length of time to film. (Actually, if HBP had spent less time having Slughorn narrate how and why he was taking acromantula venom and instead had him do so covertly as he did in the book, there would be enough screen time left to spread across adding a few lines of needed dialogue in several scenes. This is another frustrating thing about the films, and what I mean when I say they just try to check events off a list to get to the end: in the book, Slughorn's motivation to go to Hagrid's with Harry is to procure acromantula venom, which is rare and valuable. Once this motivation is taken away, as it is in the film, it's pointless to have him go through the motions of doing so, let alone doing it so overtly and with Hagrid's permission, which goes against the latter's character. It shows a profound lack of understanding of the story and its purpose that this moment received so much screen time when the point of that scene was for Harry to end up in a situation where he could get Slughorn into a vulnerable enough state to get the memory from him.)
The whole "I know" thing feels unnatural, forced, and pointless. It's clumsy and two-dimensional writing and if these films had to stand on their own and weren't based on a beloved book series, this kind of writing would have tanked them after the second one.
Thank you for this very fun ask! I have a lot of issues with the films, but I do enjoy them and still watch them often. I don't have high hopes for the HBO series (and I don't think it's necessary), but I do wish often that these films had been better done and by writers, producers, and directors more suited to the job.

I am making a new thread here.
Enlkanomiya probably never stood a chance of coming back, that's what I am saying. The music themes for Enkanomiya aren't even in line with other styles of Genshin. It features heavy violins and that usually speaks of tragedy. The God they worship was Ouroborous, then Istaroth a bit, and then Orobashi joined. So, Enkanomiya worshiped two snakes. Orobashi is even revered on Watatsumi island because he is the one who created it.
After not being able to end warring Gods during Archon War, he leaves Teyvat. And then after ending up in Enkanomiya, Orobashi read their book Before Sun and Moon, and learned about Seven Sovereigns (original elemental dragons that ruled Teyvat), about Primordial One, the Second One Who Came, and was like.. Damn son. That book likely gives Orobashi the idea that one of the Sovereigns is gonna be reborn among the Vishaps. And starts to experiment. For that that Heavenly Principles charges him and his people with counts of blasphemy, and instead of letting his people suffer, he takes the punishment.
Orobashi is back in Teyvat, Watatsumi Island isn't very crop-rich. People are suffering. Orobashi knows that going to war with nearby islands would be a death sentence as Raiden Shogun will slay him, leaving Watatsumi without a God. And that's exactly what happened. Raiden allowed Watatsuumi to worship Orobashi after his death.
Good call. The previous thread was getting long lmao
Yeah, I'm an idiot. I forgot the name of God of Time and thought Istaroth was a separate person. But yes, the overall theme and history of that place just screams 'the end of a chapter'.
Watatsumi Island really went through it, damn. I don't think it's very fair that Orobashi had to suffer consequences over the mistake of Istaroth because if that acknowledge was so forbidden, why leave the book somewhere that curious eyes could find in the first place? Why even write the events down on paper if it's obvious that the truth is meant to die out with the ones who was there to actually witness it? I wonder if Istaroth is still alive or if she faced any punishment for it. Unless HP is one of the four shades, I kinda doubt it could punish such a prominent figure of Teyvat. I guess it would depend on Primordial One and their relations with its four shades. Would it be the possessive type who would rather punish but keep them since it's literally only four of them? Or would it have no problem getting rid of one of them if they step out of line? Only time can tell as we learn more.
But the way everything played out really just feels like a warning call of a potential rematch. If it's true that this Sovereign of water might take on a human form, I don't think it's going to look good for Celestia, HP and the Abyss. As dragons, it might be a bit easy to keep them restricted but taking on newer forms will make moving about far more easier. Especially now that Traveler opened those doors and, I don't think, ever closed them. It would make blending in to lie in wait easy. Why I think so? Because I highly doubt powerful beings being forcefully stripped of their world and displaced wouldn't be building up centuries of resentment. Lowkey, I would've been pissed too.
Ah, now that I remembered something, I don't think Istaroth could've possibly died during that time. Last time she was mentioned was during the cataclysm as Ei believed that she was the one who helped Makoto. If that's the case, where is she I wonder? And would she be considered equal to HP and the gods or above them?

Bongo Bongo - CR15 Outsider (Shadow Plane)
Shall I play with you, pa-rum pum pum pum?  You’re on my drum.
Tumblr media
Artwork is official art from The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, copyright Nintendo.
Translating Legend of Zelda bosses into Pathfinder is a challenge because they’re frequently massive, and nearly impervious until the player performs some specific action to make them vulnerable.  That’s a fun boss design as long as the action is obvious enough (like “kill the minions”), and as long as the boss gives the players time to breathe instead of being able to crit them to death in one round, but it’s pretty different from how Pathfinder combat usually works.
This particular one was also a challenge just because its name is so stupid that I almost didn’t post it.
The origin of the Bongo Bongo in Ocarina of Time was left mysterious, but considering its powers and the fact that it flees into the Shadow Temple when it breaks free, I feel like it makes perfect sense for it to be an outsider from the Shadow Plane (or the Realm of Twilight, in the Zelda cosmology).
It’s too big to move around much indoors without the use of Shadow Step and Shadow Walk, so players might be able to immobilize it with light magic.  I imagine that’s part of how Sheik sealed it at the bottom of the well in Ocarina of Time.
This creature has two Bongo Bongo Hands as minions, which are included below its main stat block.
In combat, its general strategy is to stay invisible and let the hands attack unless it has a safe opening, then heal the hands when they’re reduced to -1 HP.  If the main body attacks, it tries to do so by opening its eye while invisible, and attacking on the next round, closing its eye at the end of the round immediately after attacking.  Outside of combat, it uses its prying eyes spell to detect approaching enemies; the prying eyes are typically commanded to return and report if they see unknown or hostile creatures.
I previously posted the Stalblind, another Zelda boss.   I also want to give a shout out to The Legend of Zelda: An RPG to the Past for more Zelda creatures, races and items converted to Pathfinder 1e.
Bongo Bongo - CR 15
Emerging out of the darkness is the upper torso of a massive shadow creature with a single glowing orange eye where its head should be, shadowy flaps surrounding the eye like the leaves around a flower bud.  Its gargantuan arms end in severed wrist stumps, but a pair of floating hands fly around in front of it.  And then, as the hands begin to slam onto the ground as if playing the drums, the body becomes invisible.

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Closed Eye (Ex) A bongo bongo typically keeps its eye closed.  This leaves it blinded and prevents it from casting twin heal and shadow step, but increases its natural armor bonus from +10 to +25 and gives it DR 20/—.  This is already included in its statistics above.  It can close or open its eye once per round as a free action.
This does not affect the vision of a bongo bongo’s hands, each of which has a massive eye in its palm.
Open Eye (Ex) A bongo bongo can open its eye in order to allow it to see and cast twin heal and shadow step, but doing so reduces its natural armor bonus from +25 to +10 and removes its DR.  It can close or open its eye once per round as a free action.
Hands (Ex) A bongo bongo has two hands, which function as independent creatures.  A bongo bongo’s hands cannot move more than 60 feet from it (even unwillingly, including teleportation effects).  Their statistics are included below.  If a bongo bongo moves or teleports, its hands move automatically along with it; this movement provokes attacks of opportunity, but does not count against the bongo bongo hands’ movement for the next round.
If a bongo bongo’s hands are killed, destroyed, or lost while the bongo bongo lives, only a regenerate spell or equivalent effect can restore them (although this is unlikely to happen due to their Undying Shadow ability).
If a bongo bongo dies, its hands immediately die.
Injured Hands (Ex) If a bongo bongo’s hands are both reduced to -1 hit points, it its eye immediately opens (see the Open Eye ability), lowering its armor class and removing its DR.  It cannot close its eye (see the Closed Eye ability) until at least one of its hands has been healed to 0 hit points or more.
Twin Heal (Sp) As a standard action, as a spell-like ability, a bongo bongo can restore both of its hands to full hit points and remove a number of negative conditions from them, functioning as the heal spell except that it targets the bongo bongo’s hands and has unlimited range as long as the bongo bongo can see them.  This immediately ends any and all of the following adverse conditions affecting its hands: ability damage, blinded, confused, dazed, dazzled, deafened, diseased, exhausted, fatigued, feebleminded, insanity, nauseated, poisoned, sickened, and stunned.
Twin heal does not remove negative levels or restore permanently drained ability score points.
When a bongo bongo casts twin heal, it becomes visible if it’s currently invisible, and is dazed until the end of its next turn.
Treat this as a sixth-level conjuration (healing) spell.

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Clap (Ex) A bongo bongo hand can ready an action to make a slam attack against the same target as another bongo bongo hand, attacking it with a clapping motion.  When a pair of bongo bongo hands attack in this way, they lose their grab ability, but can use their Drum ability even if there is no surface within 10 feet (effectively each hand using the other as a surface).
Drum (Ex) When a bongo bongo makes a slam attack against a creature within 10 feet of the ground, a wall, a ceiling, or another surface, it can strike that surface like a drum as part of the attack, causing a shockwave.  All creatures within 30 feet of the struck surface point, except for bongo bongos and bongo bongo hands, take 1d8 sonic damage, must succeed on a DC 23 Fortitude save or be staggered for 1 round, and fall out of the air if they are flying unless they succeed on a DC 25 Fly check.  The save DC is Strength-based and includes a -5 penalty.
Hands (Ex) A bongo bongo hand functions as an independent creature, despite being a body part of a bongo bongo.  A bongo bongo hand cannot move more than 60 feet from the bongo bongo (even unwillingly, including teleportation effects).  If the bongo bongo moves or teleports, a bongo bongo hand moves automatically along with it; this movement provokes attacks of opportunity, but does not count against the bongo bongo hands’ movement for the next round.
If a bongo bongo’s hands are killed, destroyed, or lost, only a regenerate spell or equivalent effect can restore them (although this is unlikely to happen due to their Undying Shadow ability).
If a bongo bongo dies, its hands immediately die.
Sacrificial Recovery (Su) As a full-round action, a bongo bongo hand can reduce itself to -1 hit points in order to remove negative effects from the bongo bongo, functioning as either break enchantment or dispel magic with a caster level of 20.
Undying Shadow (Ex) A bongo bongo hand cannot be killed while the bongo bongo lives.  Its hit points cannot go lower than -1, and it automatically stabilizes.

Okay so...
• I feel like you and Olive have the same kind of personality traits. And that you'd just look cute together.
• You start dating after knowing each other for a few decades. I seams like a long time to know each other for, but things work differently in the loop and one of you wasn't sure whether the other only viewed each other as a friend.
• She would literally love your peculiarity. Because lbh, butterflies are the best (sorry not sorry). She would spend ages just staring at your wings whilst you read or wrote. If you're trying to show her a new book which Millard had introduced to you then there is a 85% chance she'd wonder off attention wise to where your wings where. They're just mesmerising to her ~ "Ol ? Ol ? Olive ?" *quick blinks* "Huh ?" "I was saying about this line in chapter seven-" ~
• Your dates would be pretty small, but cute. They would probably be held at the bottom of the garden or in town, in an attempt to get away from the noise of the kids. If you where in town then they would have to not be obvious, because of the era you where stuck in and all that, but sometimes you two would be really obvious about it just for the fun of them not being able to remember after a few hours. If you're having a picnic date with princess dresses and tiaras, (probably gonna end up happening because we all live for the aesthetic) then Claire and Bronwyn would usually end up making excuses to bring more food to you so then they could join, which Olive was sometimes too nice to protest to, but at least you got some time together without interruptions before they turned up.
• Okay hear me out on this one but, she'd constantly be stealing your dresses. Your outfits are just too cute for her to resist most of the time, so she'd sneak into your room across the hall and 'borrow' some clothes from time to time ~ *olive strolls into the room with a pot of tea* *looks over from the piano, squints eyes* *olive waves* *enoch scowls because why not* *tilts head* *olive leaves the room with the empty tea pot* *turns back to the piano before looking back around to Enoch, eyebrows pull together in confusion* "she's wearing your cardigan, yes." "I thought so !" ~
• When Jacob arrives, he's a little confused as to why you're glaring at him ~ "She's really nice, loves everyone." "Even Enoch." "Shut up Millard." *Jake looks over to where you're sat with a book upside down, looking over the top with your eyes dark and glaring at him* "She seems lovely." *Olive grabbing onto his arm to drag him off to the next room on the 'tour'* "Isn't she just, next is-" ~ . You eventually loose your glare when you remember that Olive isn't into him, after much assurance from her and alot of bad jokes from a certain dead raiser.

Okeydokey ...
• Okay so I imagine you transfer from Ivermory in like fourth or fifth year and staright from the get go, George is infactuated with you.
• Like it's boarder line obsessive.
• Fred is his No 1 hype man. Well he thinks he is, in reality he sits there and makes sarcastic comments to his twin whilst the lad accidentally stares at you as you talk to your friends at the Yellow decorated table ~ "And here we have a wild George Fabian Weasley. Mating season has come around once again and he has his eyes set on a certain American honeybadger. In fact, he's had his eyes set on her for two years, he's just too much of a pussy to ask her out." "D'ya think she has to wake up really early to make her face that beautiful ?" *Fred looks up from his bacon with a confused look, ends up staring at his brother in disbelief* "It's probably just natural. She's so pretty Fred, isn't she ?" "Mate, if you don't shut up I will hit you." ~
• Okay so you're both pretty different. You're a literature girl ; books, music, writing and academic. He, however, was not. You did find out though, that he was good at potions from all of his and Fred's prank concoxions. And your potions weren't the best to put it politely. You'd obviously been harbouring a crush on him for a while, a few months after you'd started at the school precisely. How could you not, he was funny, kind, didn't cat call you, was one of the beaters for Gryffindor's quidditch team and he wasn't too bad on the eyes. He also had never pulled a prank on you which you where grateful for, but you weren't sure whether that was just because he hadn't noticed you. That's how you became friends, you'd asked him to tutor you in sixth year since your grades where dropping. Fred obviously teased him relentlessly for this because he didn't pull the first move.
• Time skip and in seventh year, after he's dropped out, he asks you on a date. Obviously you accept.
• Another time skip and you meet his family. Because Harry and Hermione are busy stopping the wizarding world from dying, you become the new source of Muggle infomation for Arthur. Obviously, George isn't too fond of your time together being interrupted by his dad whenever you're at his parents house ~ "Dad." "So the machine doesn't have a small elf in it washing the clothes ?" "No. It's just the machine's-" "Dad!" *You and Arthur look up from the couch to see George leant against a wall* "Hi son." "Hiya Georgie." *annoyed wave* "We where just talking about those muggle washing machines. Did you know-" "No I didn't . Anyways, darling how about now that we've seen mum and dad we go back to the shop ?" *Gets dragged out the door* ~
• Side note... but the pet names he would call you. THE PET NAMES. (darling, sweetheart, princess, huffles, honey)
• You end up getting on really well with Fleur, to Molly's dismay because your her favourate future daughter-in-law. You share a bit in common and she ends up taking you shopping in the village she grew up in for cute dresses. She tries to get you into french literature, which you end up giving into trying. Also France has alot of art history so you end up begging her to go on a little art tour with you. Bff vibes.
• I think you and George would just make a great couple in general. It's kinda a yin yang thing you have going on together. You balance each other out.

Right. Canto IV spoilers
We’ll get the bad stuff first.
So I do think there were maybe a bit too many fights with all the robots/EGO users on parts 1 and 2.
Like yeah you want to do a few 2 wave fights with weak enemies, sprinkle some 2 wave fights with a big robot maybe and then a 3 wave with more big ones.
Same with the EGO users, few 2 waves, few 2 waves with stronger variants and then 3 wave with named characters (I’m sorry don’t remember. Milano or something?).
Like I haven’t checked, but it felt that there were maybe 3-4 nodes that we could do without. Minor complaint.
---
This one is on me for having very high expectations after Dongbaek, but the final boss being Dongrang was both super obvious and surprising.
Does make sense thematically, project moon loves to explain a character’s motivations and immediately kill them, and Yi Sang needed that closure.
The way Yi Sang’s passive was worded I was expecting a LOR Whitenight style fight: Farmwatch would kill Sinners one by one until only Yi Sang remained, clashing on the final attack.
The clash did happen but it was not in combat, but an underwhelming check, detracting from a potential nice story/gameplay integration.
Again this one is on me, I was expecting a great finale. Still a decent fight, a 3k HP enemy with no stagger seems a bit long, but he takes 2% (60 HP) on the last part and he dies quickly. 1 Stagger if he eats the 4 plants, I missed one and that part got a bit long.
Weirdly difficult on some turns, when he uses his mass attack (7) and heals for 70+ if he hits, but then he has nothing dangerous really.
---
Now the dungeon having 3 of the abnormalities that we interact with on the mirror dungeon was very nice. I think the worm was bugged because it didn’t get shield on the first turn and instead staggered, so I got to break the head for free pretty much. Fairy was somewhat easy, and drifting fox was interesting because I was actually losing sanity on everyone.
It didn’t feel particularly long, we get story on almost every room and the fights are doable. T corp dudes where missing some icons, nothing major.
Stephanette and her companion (?) was a welcome surprise, we actually get to see the outskirts (other than LOR epilogue).
We also get confirmation (as if we needed it) that Carmen is still up to no good. Haunting the narrative and all that. Don’t distort, just say no and manifest EGO.
Alfonso is hot but doesn’t quite do it for me. Evil woman(?) tho.
---
Very nice detail that memory wipes don’t work on Dante (or us), so we can all remember the tearful thing.
The high point was definitely Dongbaek’s fights, it evoked the exact same feeling I got on LOR when fighting love town. (I’ll do a write up on this later [future link]).
Overall you can tell that the story is moving along nicely, we see who we’ll have to fight later on. Classic project moon clunkyness, most likely fixed soon since they are delaying mirror dungeon 2 and railway 2 to polish chapter 4.
I’m used to LC problems and LOR insane difficulty (that later got nerfed) so I would say that what we got was pretty good.

How to the skellies react to having a S/O that isn’t fond of psychical touch. Hugs, holding hands etc make them uncomfortable but to make up for it they commonly make or get gifts for their skelly or help around the house with chores and are affectionate with words.
Undertale Sans - He's really fine with it. He's not really the hugging type anyway. He doesn't mind, sure, but because of his low HP, he prefers way much more when people keep their distance near his soul. The gifts and the nice words are more than he would ask anyway. He's a man who enjoys the smallest thing he can get.
Undertale Papyrus - It will take time and a lots of mistakes to keep his hands to himself, but he will do his best to not hug you too much in his excitement. He really wants to be a good guy and respects your boundaries, but sometimes, he gets a little overwhelmed. Once it entered his head, he will be careful and not to pushy.
Underswap Sans - He doesn't mind either. He looks like the hugging type, but he is really not that much. He prefers much more this to a clingy S/O. He's a man who prefers gifts and affectionate words as well, so you two get along pretty well.
Underswap Papyrus - That won't do. The giy needs his hugs too badly to be happy with a S/O that can't give him that. It's his favorite way to show affection too. It's going to be too hard.
Underfell Sans - Man, he didn't know just a few months ago someone could actually like him. He doesn't mind how you show him attention, any attention is good attention. He really doesn't mad and flushes every time you're giving him a pet name.
Underfell Papyrus - He's not a hugger from the beginning and he hates hugging in public because it's showing a weakness to potential ennemies. He is really fine with it. Though he is still holding your hand from time to time even if he feels as equally awkward about it. But it's the most efficient way to protect you, that's literally the only reason.
Horrortale Sans - It's ok, he doesn't mind (and if he's missing hugs, he can just pretend he accidentally hugged you in his sleep even if he was totally doing it on purpose). He will need to write it several times though, the first weeks are going to be hard because he keeps forgetting. But as long as you're patient and let him time to process, it's going to be fine. He's going to purr to hell with or without hugs anyway.
Horrortale Papyrus - That's going to be very difficult. Willow is comforting himself a lot by hugging people, and not being able to do it might make him very anxious very fast. It's probably not the best match. He would refrain himself for the sake of his S/O, but at the cost of his own selfcare, which is very obvious if you know him a little.
Swapfell Sans - As if he needed hugs in the first place, ew. Nox hates physical touch, that's one of the reasons he is always wearing gloves, adding to his sharp claws. He is more than happy like that. Nice words are already too much for him since he's not used to them. Keep it stupid and simple, he needs time to adjust.
Swapfell Papyrus - He's fine with it but be very, very cautious. He knows it's your weakness. Say no for more mcnuggets and he will hug your arm or your leg just to piss you off. It's just teasing, but he will stop if it's really pissing you off.
Fellswap Gold Sans - Just like Nox, he is not a hugger. At all. He hates hugs and that makes him very uncomfortable too, because huggers usually kill you in his world, pretending to be poor little victims. He's happy you are not like that, this way he can turn his back without fearing a back attack. It's comforting.
Fellswap Gold Papyrus - Never ahahah. He would not be happy, he needs physic touch to keep his anxiety low. He could never have a S/O that doesn't like that.

Take Two - jily fic
read on AO3
Tumblr media
December Winter Tropes @jilychallenge, partnered with @prettymachete! PROMPT: "my family invites you to join our holiday meal as an obvious setup and oh my gOD i’m sO sorry"
Lily turns off her phone with a  click.  Flaming red heels snap against the pavement as she steps out of her car, tucking the cellphone into her purse and suppressing a shiver against the biting cold.
In front of her stands a towering, handsome building with rustic brick wall, a navy-blue arched doorway, and not one or two but  three  balconies on each of the floors.
Perhaps she’d read the address wrong, she muses, but immediately tosses that idea down the drain. After all, she’d just double-checked Euphemia’s message, and this — this  behemoth  of a house — is, indeed, 655 Archimedean Way. A regal name for a regal building.
Not for the first time, Lily wonders why she accepted Euphemia’s invitation in the first place. Sure, she’s known Euphie for nearly a year now and she’s been the loveliest boss Lily’s ever had —  and  she’s the reason Lily has her job in the first place — but only a madwoman would show up to Christmas lunch hosted by an elderly woman she hardly knows.  Even  if she has nowhere else to go.
But it’s far too late to back out — not to mention she’d promised Euphemia more than once that she would be there — so Lily takes a deep breath, bracing herself, and walks up the winding path to the doorway.
She hardly raps on the door knocker — an ornate peacock — once before it swings open and she’s face to face with...
“James Potter?” Lily blurts out.

My #1 post of 2022
Hello
I was wondering which of your stories have a desi James?
hello!! almost all of my fics include a desi james (half, on euphemia's side) even when not mentioned explicitly (though there's usually some mention of brown skin). the one exception, off the top of my head, is Take Two, where james is half-greek and white.
however, a fic where I explicitly refer to/incorporate james's indianness is You're Worth Splinching For, in which he is half-Marathi! despite me not being Marathi LOL
EDIT: another one that totally slipped my mind is this drabble with james as an indian immigrant!
one of these days I will write something in which I can properly explore his identity as indian! and when I do, you best believe I'll never shut up about it!
until then, I recommend these amazing fics by authors who wrote desi!James:
blink three times by @thequibblah (and other assorted fics by her including the 700k word epic Come Together, for which this is an extra w/ negligible spoilers)
Nine Days - an adorable Navaratri WIP by @alstroemeriablack
everything by aheartcalledhome (including the "rewrite potter" series in which it's HP but jily lives and james is indian) but especially on james potter and his impeccable singing voice, which legit made me cry
although I have not read this yet, apparently @fetchalgernon and @ghostofbambifanfiction have written James in (The Completely Unwilling Participants on) The Bachelor as Indian!
tamilprongspotter and mashallahmangoes if you can find their work anywhere
bonn's Everybody Needs A Nervy B Now And Then, also have not read b4 but will read asap!
october31st1981 on FFnet and prongsmydeer on tumblr! there are a bunch of drabbles not on her FFnet on her tumblr
the lovely @jilyism and @alittlebitofeverything23, AKA mi and shreya!
As you can see, there are LOTS of fantastic authors who write an Indian James! Please shower their writing with love!
If you have written Indian James or know fics that have it, PLEASE put the links in the reblogs! Maybe this can become an Indian James masterlist 😂

For the emoji asks: 😅🎯😬
😅 What’s a story or scene you’ve created that you’re a smidge embarrassed exists?
I have two answers for this one. For things written within the last six months, when I came back to writing my own fanfics I'd say it would be Backstage Pass. Mostly because I'm not quite satisfied with how I wrote it, I think now knowing myself a little better I could really do a better job of it. Maybe once SiS is done I will go back and update it, re-work it so it flows better??
For things in my whole life? I think the HP Self Insert fanfic I wrote with my BFF freshman year of high school would be the worst offender because not only was it far more filthy anything I've written since becoming and legal adult and not a virgin, buT WE FORGOT IT IN OUR SPANISH TEACHERS CLASSROOM AND I KNOW THAT WOMAN READ IT AND WE WERE STUPID AND USED OR REAL FIRST NAMES.
🎯 Have any of your readers accurately guessed major plot points? Care to share which?
lol SO without giving too much away, a few times people have gotten close or guessed something close to the major plot point of Sinners but nobody has hit it right on the head so I will consider that a win for now LOL
😬 Which of your fics would you be most horrified for friends, family, or coworkers to stumble upon?
OH GOD ALL OF THEM AHAHAHA. Particularly right now I'd say Sinners is number one, mainly because of the content but Consumed by You is probably a close second mainly because its very obvious that all my fics contain my own kinks and idk if anyone irl is ready to let the image my sweet, timid, married ass wants a gangbang with at least two satanic popes, their personal ghouls and Swiss.
Though the mental image of my obviously on the spectrum gym-bro of a boss finding my fanfics after hours and maybe even being into it before finding out its me has me CACKLING on the floor

Chapter 11- Part 1
Tumblr media
So, this is where we left off- everything looks perfectly normal right now, yeah? Well, random little tangent here, let’s just take a look at the Trainer card, for no particular reason-
Tumblr media
Oh? What is that I see? A different name for the player avatar? No longer my name, but the name I gave to the character?
Yeah, so- as alluded to in the last chapter, I was really itching to change the in-game name to…well, Xera’s name. And with some information given to me by a reader (information that I was able to confirm for myself with a quick Google search), I was able to figure out a way to do exactly that! Xera’s name is now real, and will remain that way for the rest of the game! How did I do this?
…I don’t think I’m legally allowed to say, just look it up for yourselves.
There is one caveat to this, though. Apparently, changing the name in this way doesn’t change the OT tags on the Pokémon that were caught beforehand. For example, Riptide:
Tumblr media
But I think the name change will apply to all Pokémon caught after the change? Not that it matters much to me either way- I don’t typically pay attention to the OT tags unless they’re specifically something different in an interesting way (like whatever Bloom’s deal with Sweet Co. is).
Anyways, now let’s get into my plan for this session. This part is going to be mostly housekeeping things- wrapping up some sidequests and events in Obsidia and Coral Wards before we head into Onyx Ward. You know all that stuff I did in Peridot Ward before challenging Julia? Same situation here- and just like last time, I did some looking-into with the events and such, but once again, only enough to have a basic understanding of what to do. Besides, some of them I was already well aware of- for example, the Egg!
Tumblr media
As you can see, I’ve put Prong in the Box for the time being to have the Egg in the party. Without a Pokémon with Flame Body (or other such Abilities that can speed up the hatching process), we’ll be going the full Egg cycle for this- and since I don’t know what Pokémon this will be, I don’t know how many steps this will take, so it’s better to be safe than sorry and have it in the party while we walk around.
So now, the most obvious quests to take care of are the two trades- the Nosepass and the “tablecloth.” And that means we need Sentret/Furret and Patrat/Watchog!
Tumblr media
Hello again, Obsidia Park. A newly-opened area with some newly-available Pokémon- including one we need right now!
Tumblr media
Boom, Sentret! This’ll be easy enough with Whiskers- Disarming Voice to lower its health, put to sleep, then profit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Scout” seemed too obvious, so “Watcher” felt like a fitting alternative.
Next up, Patrat, and like I said in the past, I already know where to find one.
Tumblr media
Welcome back to Opal Ward! C’MERE-
Tumblr media
It’s an early-game rodent Pokémon, only Lv. 4, and with Sleep- I don’t even think we need to lower its HP for this to work.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Huh- I never noticed that Sentret and Patrat have the same category. Well, now I definitely can’t name this guy “Scout” either.
Tumblr media
There we go, “Vigil” works just as nicely!
So now, the party looks like this:
Tumblr media
And now, since we still have a surplus of Exp. Candies, we can speedrun leveling these two up to evolution!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Long girl!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And tall bo- actually, I thought Watchog was taller than that, hm.
Well, regardless, let’s get to trading! First, let’s go back to the one house to trade Watcher-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, it was a Castform! I knew it! …Wait, Castform still doesn’t look like a tablecloth in any of its form, it always has like a…cloud-like appearance to it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
No worries, Xera will appreciate it more than you ever did- but at least she and her dad gave it a good name, “Meteo.”
Tumblr media
And of course, PokéDex entry, for the fun of it-

i was going through blogs and saw an old hp meta and i mostly respect that person's opinion so i went back and reread the last 2 books and that was fun and now i have so many feeling i need to let them out
-the main one is that i don't hate snape? like he's an asshole for bullying kids but after seeing his entire life flash before my eyes there was no room for anything but pity. mind you not the aw poor bb pity but the damn life really is a bitch and then you die. like your family's shit and you're ugly and everyone hates and you can't let go so you end up perpetuating the abuse cycle and there's no redemption. you failed, the end. kinda amazing tbh that she wrote him like that i.e a brave dude who managed to do the right thing after he ruined everything but also a thoroughly unpleasant human being till the end.
p.s: is he even a bad teacher? most of his students pass, his detention is scrubbing pots and he makes mean girls tier remarks. Meanwhile the good guys send children to the forbidden forest and expose them to dangeorus animals without protection lmao
+ the always~ line is overused and criiiinge just like the ship itself. The real goat line is ''And my soul? Mine? It cut me deeply cause i was also dumbledore's (wo)man's through and through and i didn't care about his hitler boyfriend and his secrets and i even went as far as to make a note in the book (the only note) to plead with harry not to doubt him. and he was the only thing remotely close to a friend snape had cause he was the ony one who knew the truth but he did use him cause he wanted to save harry and the world and even fucking draco and it just sucks, it all suuuucks
++and it's not like draco got a redemption, his entire family was dogshit and still got away with everything. i felt this so hard cause thanks to churchil the nazi collaborators in my country never got their comeuppance so their descendants also hold positions of power now and keep eroding our democracy
+++still can't believe the one that got rehabilitated was kreacher, like i hated him so much for sirius but hermione was kinda right. and it was so sad when he must have waited and waited for them to show up and eat that kidney pie
-i remember i hated how my precious perfect hermione ending up with he's just ron but this time i didn't care much. his rapid fire cool AND considerate moments in the battle were very forced in my opinion and a little too little too late but eh whatever as long as she's happy.
+i think it's cause as a kid i wanted her with harry but now he was kinda annoying, idk he can be a pretty annoying kid. i mean it makes sense considering what the poor child had to got Through. But also he's basically the messiah with his love spiel and dying for everyone and i'm sitting here with my hurt cheek and a core that craves a proportionate justice that doesn't exist.
btw i'll never understand people who still complain about albus severus. it's a shit name to be sure but if you spend 7 years with harry it should be obvious this is a 200% in character thing to do.
++adulthood is realising krum was the best and deserved better and we deserved better instead of unrepentant asshole malfoys
-i still hate ginny and molly. molly was poor but had seven kids and the only one who would always get the short end of the stick was ron. it was just so pitiful with the wand, and the cloak and the rat. and she was so obsessed with being harry's mom she got pissed at sirius for being the cool dad (dude had his issues too obviously but they should have met in the middle) and she thought the sun shined out of harry's ass so she froze a teen girl she knew cause of something she read in the Sun. Kinda hated how she got the bella kill too
ginny went from nobody to best at hexing AND sports AND doesn't cry AND she's so hot everyone wants her and lmao what kind of cardboard dating game self-insert is this? Her sense of humour has asuch a mean streak too. And the way they treated fleur argh I felt like i was in an aita about the stereotypical evil mil and sil. and the people who say it was mutual cause fluer was snob? yeah she was and i ripped her one too when she looked down on my favorite chaotic magic murderschool but they weren't bullying her because of that? they were being mean cause they were jealous she was beautiful and men went gaga, because they thought that meant she was shallow and of course she wasn't good enough for their son/bro
and the trashiest thing was when they made fun of accents. these people who only knew english and had never tried learning any other languages! like come on dude
-i had forgotten how hedwig dies aaaaaaa i still can't believe it was so fast and then nothing it still hurts...

I've talked about ideas for campaigns on here before. Mostly just the Microcosm, a campaign where the players got whisked away to a demiplane that has aspects of every plane in the Great Wheel and have to team up to gather items from mysterious chests and get strong enough to escape. There will be a few dmnpcs, a ranger, warlock, rogue, paladin, and 3 wizards, but none of them are the focus and only a few will accompany the party at any given time.
There's also my main world I'm not sure if I ever talked about. The gist of it is basically runeterra from league of legends but dndified and with names switched around. Also the gods in that world are actually just metaphysical positions of power that can be stolen and used to turn other beings into gods such as the god of knowledge being an aboleth who abused aboleths' memory heredity to beat the old knowledge god in essential a trivia game, and a party member or someone they like could theoretically beat the aboleth and replace them too. This system was lifted from the Judge system in Wildbow's web serial Pale.
Main one I wanna talk about and get in order in my head is a 3rd idea. Basically Genshin but dnd. The players will be vision users from wherever they want. Each vision will give special actions they can take related to their element, which is represented by a damage type. Anemo is Force, Geo is Bludgeoning, Electro is Lightning, Dendro is Poison, Hydro is Acid, Pyro is Fire, and Cryo is Cold. A vision user gains resistance to their damage type and can infuse their next Action with that damage type as a Bonus Action. Infusing it with attacks will give them an extra die using the vision damage type but the normal die used by the action. Spells are mostly the same but if a spell already had the associated damage type then that damage is doubled. Actions other than attacks and spells that match their element will need to be run by me first yo see if I can justify a bonus for infusing the element on it. I hope to be generous with this. Oh yeah, and if they have a spell of matching their element, they're allowed to cast it a number of times equal to their Proficiency bonus before a Long Rest without using a spellslot. This counts all spells and not individually for each spell.
If they want a player can try to get a delusion too. Unlike visions, delusions will be items they have to attune to. (I didn't want the visions to take up attunement slots but they'll need to go out of their way to get delusions so those can.) Delusions work essentially the same as visions except they provide stronger elemental infusions. 2 extra die instead of 1, triple spell damage instead of double, greater effect on non-attack actions, but there's catches. Most obvious one is that players will need to activate a delusion as an action. Once they do they lose access to the power of their vision until they turn it off. (While Childe was able to use hydro & electro together on his 3rd phase, it is currently believed he can only achieve this due to his abyssal transformation, which is also why his 2nd phase swaps to delusion only and why Signora doesn't use vision and delusion in tandem.) While a delusion is active the character using it will take 1 necrotic damage every turn, or 10 every minute. If they reach half health while their delusion is active they gain a level of exhaustion that doesn't go away until they Long Rest. They gain a 2nd if they get to what my group calls the Mortaled state (1/10th total hp or 10 or less hp). If a character has multiple levels of exhaustion gained this way, only 1 can be recovered per Long Rest.
I may also try to include elemental reactions but I don't know yet.
What about races? I've thought of that too. The main race can be almost any 5e dnd race within reason reflavored into a genshin race so you have access to normal abilities, but you also get an extra trait for your actual genshin species. Humans can be from any of the seven nations and gain 2 extra skill proficiencies, tool proficiencies, or languages. Beastfolk as I'm calling them (Diona, Sucrose, Gorou) gain Darkvision if they don't already have it, 1 Skill, and the ability to better communicate with related animals as if using Speak with Animals. Mondstadt doesn't presently have any special races (Albedo seems to be the only known homonculus, while Klee & Alice are both likely elves we know nothing about elves, and I'm not gonna let my players play gods like Venti), so we move on to Liyue specific races. First are the adepti, like Xiao. They gain a beast form that gives them a flying speed equal to their walking speed, increase their physical stats by 2, and the ability to cast Detect Good & Evil or Detect Magic as an action without using a spellslot once per Long Rest for either. The transformation is similar to a druid's Wild Shape in regards to armor and items and can only be done once a day. Second are Half-Adepti, like Ganyu or Yanfei. They don't get a transformation but do get to cast Detect Magic as an Action without using a spellslot once per Long Rest, gain passive +1 bonuses to all mental stats, and the ability to project an aura to their allies to increase ally stats once per round, capped at the current level of the half-adepti's version of the stat and maintaining the aura requires Concentration. This ability is also once per Long Rest and can only last up to 1 minute. I won't do zombies because most aren't as autonomous as Qiqi. Next up is the Inazuma races. Tengu like Sara are first. They gain a flight speed of 40 ft when not wearing armor and they gain a feather fan which gives them advantage on Dexterity checks and saves so long as they have it. Oni like Itto are next. They get general boosts to Strength and essentially the Tough feat, but after reaching level 5 then once per Long Rest they can channel all their power into a single strike where they have advantage to hit and treat their Strength as if it were 30. They gain a level of exhaustion after using that. Next are kitsune, of fox envoys as I've also heard them called, such as Miko. They can transform into a fox form as an Action which has advantage on Stealth or Charisma checks, and they can also command minor spirits to aid them with healing or small amounts of damage matching the player's element. Technically tanuki could also appear here at some point but I won't count them since there are no currently playable tanuki. I also won't be counting the valuka shuna of Sumeru like Tighnari because we know fuck all about them, nor will I allow aranara due to their inability to be seen by most people.
Also worth noting that languages are getting an overhaul. Each region will have their own languages which are real world languages in google translate. Mondstan is German, Liyese is Chinese, Inazumese is Japanese, Sumeri is Hindi, Fontench is French, Natlish is Spanish, and Snezhnayan is Russian. That's not all the languages just the main important ones. There's also Vindagnish which is Finnish, Enkanomeek which is Greek, Eremic which is Arabic, Araskrit which is Sanskrit, and Icelandic which is Khaenrian. If you're curious for some of the odder choices, Sumeri is Hindi because at first I thought Sumeru was specific India instead of just a couple south Asian and middle eastern countries. Eremic is arabic because they're based on the Egyptians who speak Arabic. Enkanomiya spoke Greek, Sal Vindagnyr had a referenced character with a Finnish name, and Natlan uses Spannish due to American colonization by the Spannish and because as far as I know Natlan is going to be either native American tribes, the Aztecs, the Mayans, or some combination of 2 or more. Also none of their languages show up google translate. I also have a language specific to Celestia and the gods which right now I'm thinking should be Latin.
Also gonna just rip enemies straight outta the game, convert their stats, and yeet em at the players. Nothing super special here except that it got me wondering if Dvalin is technically a really big anemo vishap since he's the only dragon that isn't ever referred to as a vishap.
Story is mostly to follow the game story accept both Travelers rule the Abyss instead of just 1 and the player party takes the role normally taken by the Traveler after discovering Paimon and then going to meet the different archons to see if they know what she is. Big difference is that they don't necessarily have to do the regions in the same order. They can start virtually anywhere, not just Mondstadt, then go to any adjacent country...excpr for Snezhnaya probably since it's so significant. I can use the fatui to block em out of there.

By the Thursday after the Hogsmeade trip you were ready to crack. Tom hadn't said a word to you, but he was constantly staring. Blatantly staring. At meals. In the halls. He'd even managed to interrupt your Arithmancy class with a message for the professor and had been so obvious about it a couple girls in the class glared at you for it.
"Just tell him you're not interested," Abigail said between bites of her breakfast, her own heated glare fixed on the Slytherin you had your back too.
You speared a potato harshly as you stared at the wall behind her. “He hasn’t expressed any intention of anything.”
“That’s a load of gnomedung and you know it,” she shot back, her plate scraping loudly against the table as she pushed it away. “Everyone’s talking about the girl who Tom Riddle can’t stop looking at. Ralph’s even heard the rumors! You know he’s realized you’re avoiding him, right? He sent you those chocolates and you haven’t thanked him at all for it! He’s devastated.”
You let out a huff of a laugh. The expensive box of chocolates was half eaten on Larissa’s bed because you couldn’t stand the type of filling he’d chosen for them. Even if you hadn’t absolutely loathed the chocolates themselves, you wouldn’t have eaten them. “I’m sure he’ll be over it in a few days when he finds someone else to fancy.”
“Rowena save you for being so bloody daft,” she said. She shook her head, standing up from the table. “I hope you start to see sense before you muck up your family’s name.”
You watched as she left in a huff, wishing Larissa hadn’t skipped out on breakfast that morning. Feeling too many eyes on your back you followed a moment later.
Classes dragged by that morning. Professor Merrythought’s lecture was torturously long and uninformative. The guest professor covering yet another of Dumbledore’s Transfiguration classes was so forgettable you couldn’t even recall his name. Your desk mate had performed a better Hair Colour Changing Charm than he had. Pathetic, really.
Lunch was—well, lunch was worse.
Seated at the Ravenclaw table, at your table next to your friends, was McLaggen. Abigail tapped his hand lightly as you walked into the Great Hall and pointed you out at the entrance. She’d been watching, waiting for you to stroll in so you didn’t have time to turn away.
Reluctantly, you joined them. Abigail slid over and offered you the space between her and McLaggen. Of course. Of course. Forcing conversation. Bloody brilliant.
"You look lovely," he said, eyeing you in a way that made you shift uncomfortably. "As you always do."
"Thank you," you replied shortly. Abigail nudged your side and shot you a disapproving glare, but you elected to ignore it as you piled your plate with too much of the least appetizing food on the table. Anything with onions.
"Abigail was telling me how busy you've been with classes this week. Nine is a lot to take, isn't it?"
Your response was an automatic, "Ten." If your mother would have heard your tone, you'd have spent a week without a tongue. "They're not that difficult." Not until Dumbledore was back from France.
Thirty minutes of McLaggen's one sided conversation was about as interesting as one of Professor Binns’ lectures. You left as soon as it was socially acceptable, leaving a furious Abigail and dejected McLaggen behind. The same pair of dark brown eyes that followed you all week watched you disappear out the doors, a smile on his face.
Abigail didn't try to speak to you that night. Not that you minded. She was the one trying to push you to do something you very clearly didn't want, you had nothing to say if she didn't. While her and Larissa stayed in the common room—working on homework supposedly—you used the time to sneak upstairs and browse the catalog you'd received from Flourish and Blott's. They had to carry something that delved deeper into the Old Magicks. Though as you flipped page after page after page, you began to doubt that.
Nothing.
It was as if it had been erased from history, only the vaugest mentions of it surviving whatever purge had happened. Grandfather had complained about the Ministry hoarding information, that they were scared of people learning things and taking control out of their hands. Maybe there had been a shred of truth to his conspiracy theories.
It only made you more curious.
Maybe Azar knew…
With a huff of annoyance, you threw the useless catalogue to the side. Azar would know if his father had ever mentioned things like Old Magick. Maybe even know if there are books about it in the Avery Library. But trying to speak with Azar without Tom around would be difficult and the few times you may be able too would be too public to discuss things considered ‘Dark Magic’.
Your father wasn’t as interested in the less than legal aspects of magic. His addictions were more…physical. Gambling, other women, elicit potions. All under the guise of a loving husband and father. Mother didn’t seem to mind. As long as you looked like the perfect, happy family he could do whatever he pleased.
Friday passed in a blur, in and out of breakfast before either of your roommates rolled out of bed, passing on lunch to avoid the hell you’d endured the last time, and getting to dinner late enough to have an excuse to not speak to anyone. Abigail didn’t attempt to speak to you in any classes but you barely ducked in time to avoid McLaggen’s sweeping gaze of the corridor DADA’s classroom was located. The library didn’t seem like a safe option either that night, two of his less scholarly teammates taking up the desk directly in front of the door.
So you found yourself in the safest option: the alcove on the seventh floor, past the Gryffindor Common Room. You knew which Prefects were on patrols tonight. And the Fifth Year Hufflepuffs and Slytherins wouldn’t begin their patrols of the upper floors until well past midnight. It would be the first time you’d broken curfew, but you felt it worth the risk.
“It’s an hour past curfew.”
Tom’s voice doesn’t make you jump. You half expected him. “Are you going to give me detention? Deduct points?” you ask, not looking up from the essay you’d just finished.
“No.”
“Then go away.”
He chuckled, leaning into the wall. “Always full of surprises. No hexes? No running? Just ‘go away’?”
The wording you used in a sentence seemed off and you took a moment to cross it out and replace it. Tom could wait. “I’m running out of ways to tell you I’m not interested,” you finally answered
“Now I doubt that. A brilliant mind like yours must have a hundred more for me to ignore.”
Rolling the parchment, you gave him an exasperated look. It'd been a long, stressful week. Hell, it had been long, stressful months because of him. You were done playing niceties. "Here I was thinking you'd be upset I'd bested you in a duel. You seemed rather peeved when you were tied to the tree." Feral, more like.
He shrugged nonchalantly, face still at ease. "You caught me off guard. I was peeved. I don't like to lose. But it was impressive. No one's broken through my Shield Charm since third year. I owe you an apology for underestimating you."
The compliment burned at your ears. The praise on your abilities from him seemed somehow more worthwhile than others. You shoved down the intruding thoughts, keeping your face neutral. "Better to be underestimated. Gives you an upperhand."
"Does it?" he asked, cocking an eyebrow. It was a rhetorical question. You'd seen the side of him he didn't show the rest of the world, just as he had seen yours. It was valuable to be unassuming. It may have different meanings for the two of you, but it was a trait you shared.
"I should get back to the Common Room before one of the prefects who will give me a detention decides to patrol." You were already standing, your things shoved into your satchel. The longer you spoke with Tom, the more likely you were to fall into one of his many traps. "Have a good night, Tom."
"Is McLaggen still bothering you?" he asked, easily falling into step next to you.
Of course he wouldn't just let you walk away. "He's easier to avoid than you are. And he doesn't stare as much."
"You still enjoy my company more than his."
You let out a laugh. "That's an incredibly low bar." But it was true, at least with Tom you didn't have to feign politeness anymore. "I'd still prefer whatever creature Hagrid let loose over either of you."
"By the end of tomorrow, I have a feeling he'll no longer be a bother to you," he said casually.
Your steps came to a halt. The conflicting emotions of relief, confusion, and concern battled on your face. "What are you going to do to him?"
"Me? Nothing," he said. You didn't believe it. "But Azar, he was rather concerned. I believe he may have written his sister about it this morning. He felt compiled to look after his niece."
Idiots. The both of them. Your mother not knowing about McLaggen's interest was a saving grace. She had tea with his mother on a semi-regular basis. She'd be nothing but thrilled at the prospect. You felt nauseous. "By the end of tomorrow, I'll be dangling off his arm like some blasted trophy! Mother will insist on it!"
The hostile reaction didn't seem to phase him. "Unless Azar revealed something that would taint his image, and, by proxy, yours if you were to be his trophy."
You blinked at him, mouth unattractively agape. "What?"
"Gryffindor's little Golden Boy isn't so golden after all. Then again, who is ever as they seem, hmm? But the simple minded ones are horrid at hiding their dirty little secrets." He took your arm, just as he had two weeks prior, and continued. "It seems McLaggen had a run in with a Muggle over summer. His child is due sometime in April."
The information wrapped around you comfortingly. Mother would never allow that. Best of all, she'd be discreet but brutal. One letter to him and you'd never have to deal with him again. "How? How did you find out?"
He smiled. "I'll tell you one day."
You tried to remind yourself that his interference was not for your benefit, but his. He was pursing you. He was just getting rid of the competition. There had to be something he wanted or expected in return. But he said no more on the matter as he walked you to the base of the spiral stairs that led to Ravenclaw Tower. His lips brushed over your hand as he bid you good night and walked away.
Larissa and Abigail were already asleep when you entered your dorm. A blessing. You weren't sure if you could resist the temptation to rub the knowledge you'd been given on McLaggen into Abigail's face. Nor would you be able to resist telling her who had found the information.
In the morning, you were able to see McLaggen's reaction in real time. His excited expression and quick glance at you when an owl dropped a letter in front of him. The way his face fell and grew pale as he read it. How he shoved it deep into his pockets and all but ran out of the Great Hall. Probably off to burn it.
Tom's smile was nearly as wide as yours.
Then a letter plopped on the table in front of you. Your name was written in the familiar handwriting of your mother. Mother wrote to you once a month and she'd already written to you this month. With shaking hands, you opened the letter.
Tumblr media
You are incredibly lucky your uncle cares so much about you as your poor judgement in men could have very nearly ruined our family's reputation. Your father and I had a very serious discussion last night and have come to the conclusion that there needs to be an arrangement made in order to prevent this atrocious misjudgement from happening again. We've already been contacted by several families interested in keeping their families pure. A decision will be made soon and you will do your duty to our family, just as I did.
-Selene Selwyn
The world ended right then. The weight of the written words were suffocating. An arranged marriage. You hadn't done anything wrong. It had only been a week of him considering you as a romantic prospect and you'd spent that time avoiding him. But it didn't matter. You were still going to suffer the consequences of someone else's actions.
Air. You needed air.
You stumbled out of the Great Hall, barely reacting when you bumped into someone. Any hope of freedom was gone. The little choice you had had been stripped from you by a single sheet of parchment. Mother was nearly eighteen years younger than Father, making him twice her age when they had gotten married less than a month after she graduated.
The crisp air filled your lungs but it did little to erase the bubbling panic. A wife. A mother. A witch with someone else's name. Past the lake. Past Quidditch Pitch. Past the trees on the edge of the Forbidden Forest. Deep enough that when you screamed, no one would hear you.

❝ wanna be yours ❞
Tumblr media
miya atsumu x reader — in which atsumu can’t help himself from falling in love all over again when talking to his parents about his favourite topic; you
Tumblr media
dt — @seijohlogy ;; jae, hottie, you’re so lovely and i’m very much in love with you, atsumu, oikawa and anyone else you wanna fall in love with <3
Tumblr media
“tsumu’ it’s so nice to hear from ya!”
atsumu smiled at the sound of his mothers voice coming from the end of the line as he sat up in his chair properly.
“yeah, sorry i called late this week, i was busy with-”
“-we know tsumu, ya never have to apologize for that. we’re just happy you’re happy.” atsumu’s father cut in swiftly.
atsumu smiled at the reference of you. he always called his parents every wednesday at around 7PM without fail with the exception of today, after promising to take you out to the new restaurant you’d been eying.
“they looked really pretty today ya know,” the setter’s voice perked up as his heart fluttered with eagerness to talk all about you. “like, really pretty.”
“how are they?” atsumu’s mother asked, softness threaded through the tone of her voice. atsumu’s mother had taken an instant shine to you upon meeting you for the first time. her own heart filled with just as much joy listening to her son talk about you, so she’d always make sure to ask questions about your wellbeing and such whenever the opportunity arose.
“great actually, i’ve had more time off this week so i’ve been around them a lot more, oh! yesterday we cooked together for the first time in a while, we actually followed one of yer old recipes.” atsumu chatted as his eyes wandered over to the framed photos placed neatly on the desk.
childhood photos of him and osamu stared back at him through the delicate glass as well as photos from their inarizaki days. his favourite photos however, were the two he had kept preserved in frames different to the other places near the emptier areas around his sleek desk.
two frames outlined with mirrored glass always caught his attention whenever he glanced in their general direction. one photo of the two of you together on the right frame and one of you alone in the left. his eyes instantly gravitate to your face though. he’d practically burned the memory of these photos into his head and he was grateful he did. he loved the way you smiled, the expression making him tumble further and further down the road of being so in love with you. the soft crinkles as your eyes smiled with your lips, held a special place in his heart too. to know that he made you genuinely smile so brightly, it filled his heart with pride and joy and he had no intentions to ever make you stop smiling like that.
“oh really?” his mother hummed curiously on the other end of the line. “i know they would’ve done me justice, but i’m not too sure about you.” she teased as both atsumu and his father laughed.
“they always keep me in check… it was edible just in case ya were wonderin’.”
a soft expression graced the blond’s face as his thoughts stayed content in the mental territory of you.
“when the two of you marry, ya gotta make sure to learn to cook for yerself a bit more.” his father commented. atsumu’s face flushed slightly at the thought of marrying you. sure, he had obviously had thoughts on the topic before, but discussing it so rawly was something he wasn’t so used to yet. the idea of physically and legally making you his and him yours, made his heart stutter and his mind go hazy. he absolutely wanted nothing more.
“you are going to marry them aren't ya?” mrs miya pressed on. atsumu could picture his mothers scolding face and quirked eyebrow upon hearing the strict but playful tone of voice.
“well obviously.” the setter practically scoffed. “i’d be an idiot not to.”
he got up and stretched, phone still in hand and pressed up against his ear. “i wanna have a big wedding someday, for them of course.” he mused as he wandered around the spacious study, eyes scanning the walls littered with polaroids and framed photos hung up. his smile yet to be wiped off as he sighed into the phone.
“good. we already give our blessing for you to give them the surname ‘miya’, they already fit in so well.” atsumu’s father said proudly. he had also taken a liking to you after seeing the control you had over his untamable son. you were his rock and both mr and mrs miya noted this as obvious after observing their sons adoring behaviour around you. they loved you as their in-law already and atsumu still had yet to actually propose yet.
“they suit ‘miya’ don’t they?” atsumu grinned as he stopped in front of a photo of both you and him. a particular favorite of his. msby had just won an important match and you were pictured beaming proudly beside him. his own expression is what really made his heart full. his own eyes looking down at you, rather than an overwhelming look of excitement gracing his face, he looked rather in love. admiring eyes shining at your form, the soft smile tugging at his lips as he registered just how proud he could make you.
miya atsumu was a prideful man, but being a prideful man for you was his brand and he made sure that much was obvious.
dating was great, he loved the dynamic and he loved the openness between the two of you, a pair of matching rings and last names did sound nice to him though. he couldn’t wait to have pictures with those elements included someday. to have a picture of the two of you with the caption ‘the miyas’ matching wedding rings and smiling faces was his ultimate goal. no trophy, medal or title could hold a light to that prize, he wanted to chase after a stable future with you and he’d make sure to go full 100% until he got there.
“they sure do kid, so ya better get down on one knee soon okay?” his mother teased as atsumu snickered.
“i promise.” he spoke firmly.
not just a promise to his parents of course though, but a promise to himself too. he would get down on one knee the next day if he could, but there was a time and place for such a moment to occur and atsumu knew that playing the patience game was worth it sometimes.
he’d find the right moment soon and then, he’d be a step closer to reaching his ultimately desired goal; to be yours for good.

Back when episode 53 aired in Japan, a lot of people (on forums, YouTube, etc...) weren't happy with what they saw (Suicune being portrayed as weak, Goh capturing a legendary, and so on...), but for me, episode 53 is one of my favorite episodes of Pokémon Journeys because it's a really great episode for Goh's character and it also happens to have some standout Ash/Goh moments. With the dub episode having aired recently in some countries, now seems like as good of a time as any for me to give my thoughts on what makes this episode so memorable - at least for me! 🙂
Episodes that feature legendary Pokémon have the potential to be something special and this story surrounding Suicune doesn't disappoint. The stakes may not be as high as in some of the Pokémon movies involving legendaries, but that's fine - there isn't anything inherently wrong with stories that have a smaller scope. Not only do we get to see some of the lore surrounding Suicune explored, but we also get to see it in action, as well as how it cares for weaker, more vulnerable Pokémon, and how they, in turn, care for it.
Tumblr media
Suicune is shown to be no more different than any other Pokémon. In the context of the anime, it's just another living, breathing creature with emotions. Yes, it's stronger than a lot of other Pokémon, but just because it's stronger and it's seen as a legendary doesn't mean it's an unstoppable force. I don't see its power having been purposely "nerfed" here by the Journeys writers just to give Goh an "easy catch" or handled in a manner to push a narrative that everything comes easy for Goh.
The episode establishes that the Pokémon hunters have been purposely polluting the lake for a period of time. Suicune having to repeatedly purify the lake (and remember, Suicune supposedly travels the world doing this, so we don't even know its energy level at the time the hunters are polluting this one lake), is going to weaken it. Goh points this out in dialogue, too. Suicune is already in a weakened state, but then it gets attacked by three different Pokémon and sustains multiple hits - and on top of that, is visibly poisoned. Legendary or not, if you're playing a Pokémon game and attack a Pokémon this much, its HP is going to drop, and inflicting a status condition - like poison - makes it easier to catch.
Tumblr media
If Goh had just happened to stumble upon a seemingly healthy and strong Suicune and chucked a Poké Ball at it, capturing it without any resistance, then I could understand the arguments that Goh gets everything handed to him. That's not what happened though. Also, Goh is shown here to only catch Suicune as a means of saving it from the hunters. He wants to help it, and doesn't see any other option. He sees Suicune as a living creature that needs help, not just as another object for his collection or stepping stone toward his goal of capturing Mew.
A quick observation on character growth here - by the time events in this episode happen, Goh's attitude toward helping Pokémon had already changed, but just think how differently the Goh from episode 3 would've reacted here. Ash has had a very real impact on how Goh has grown as a character and that's one of the many reasons I love the pairing.
So Goh captures Suicune in a way and for reasons that I think makes sense and doesn't feel forced. It's obvious too that Suicune didn't "let" itself be captured willingly because later, when Goh trips and Suicune is accidentally released from the Poké Ball, it's visibly angry. The only reason the capture had been successful was because Suicune had been weakened sufficiently. Again, for all the complaints surrounding Goh capturing Pokémon without weakening them, everything that has happened here is in line with the core game mechanics. I'm sure plenty of players captured Suicune as far back as the Generation II games...
Moving on, as I said, this is a great episode for Goh's character. It reinforces how far he has come since episode 3, and now, much like Ash, he's not willing to just give up when things get tough. He won't abandoned Suicune, and it's his compassion and sincerity that wins over the forest Pokémon, and helps Suicune see that maybe, just maybe, he can be trusted. He sends out his Pokémon to keep a watchful eye on Suicune while he goes to collect berries - some of which are good for treating poison, and he has medicine on hand, all of which show just how knowledgeable and good at analyzing/being prepared for a situation he is. This isn't Goh being some Gary Stu type of character - these are established character traits that go back to episode 2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Goh does all this because he wants to help and protect Suicune. Him doing this all the while not having any intention of keeping it, to me, is proof that Goh cares just as much about the wellbeing and happiness of Pokémon as any other character in the anime and when people try to frame him as being something else, I simply don't see that as being fair. When Suicune does make it clear to Goh - who is trying to release it at the end of the episode - that it wants to be his Pokémon, I feel it's because of everything Goh has done for Suicune. Suicune can see how pure Goh's heart and soul are and senses that he is genuinely a good person. This isn't handing Goh Suicune on a silver platter - Goh earned Suicune's trust. He cared for and healed Suicune and literally put himself in harms way to protect it. I don't at all see this as a cheap/ridiculous capture.
Tumblr media
As I said (er... kinda awhile ago at this point...😅), this episode is not only a favorite of mine because of Suicune and Goh, but also because it really shows just how much Ash and Goh have come to trust/care about each other. Ash trusts Goh to take Suicune someplace safe (though Goh at first doesn't want to leave Ash behind). Goh worries about Ash's safety while running away. Later on, Ash yelling out Goh's name as he rushes to help him after the hunters overpower him. The two battling back to back (Goh's come a long way when it comes to battling, hasn't he? Some more character growth right there)... and then, this scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Goh chooses to push Ash out of the way, leaving himself and Cinderace open to Houndoom's attack. It's visible, imo, in how Goh's face is animated that he seemingly, for a split-second, thinks about what to do... and decides to go with trying to protect Ash over himself and/or Cinderace. It's obvious what conclusion I'm gonna draw since I love the pairing, but I do think it's interesting how this saga of the anime has shifted a bit more toward the human/human relationships. Here, I would've expected Goh to try and protect Cinderace over Ash, just like in this clip from episode 72, I would've expected Ash to call out Pikachu's name first/hug Pikachu after being separated from him, yet he says Goh's name first and they lock hands/eyes and smile at each other while Pikachu is kinda just... there, on Ash's shoulder. Just an observation!
As I'm sure you can see, I had a few thoughts on episode 53. 😄
