Don't you just love it when it's the middle of the night and that aromantic loneliness hits you in the face because once again you're thinking about the fact that society values romantic relationships way more than platonic ones and that you'll never be as important to your friends as they are to you because romantic relationships are the most valuable thing in the world and platonic ones will almost always be overlooked, left in second place, sometimes even forgotten?

The pushback to the term "cultural Christianity" from atheists is real odd to me because, as someone who has been an atheist since 13, only ever went to church a handful of times never with my own family (made a note never to sleep over at that friends house on a Saturday again bc I HATED church it smelled like shit, was boring, pews are uncomfortable as fuck, and the religious people I knew were all wildly misogynistic and I've never been here for being told I was less of a person for being Born Like This), and generally had no actual connection to Christianity in a meaningful way but still only knows Christian mythology, has been steeped in Christian values I had to untangle, and my religious understandings are still deeply Christian.
Like Ive never paid attention to the bible, church, Jesus, Christian teachings, or whatever but if you asked me about any religion the one I'll reliably know the most about is Christianity. I don't know why atheists are offended by being called culturally Christian because they have bad blood with the religion because like sorry bruh that doesn't mean you're less indoctrinated by Christian values if the culture you grew up in is predominantly Christian. In fact I'd say that religion being this ubiquitous in the culture regardless of anyone's consent to exactly ONE religion being shoved down our throats is reason to team up with other religious folks who ALSO don't like being constantly evangelized to by the culture at large, not a reason to throw a fit because you don't like being tied to a religion that is so ingrained into the culture that shit like "oh my god" and "Jesus Christ" are common expressions of surprise regardless of how atheist you are. Like surely I'm not the only atheist to notice the shocking amount of cultural religious shit that works it's way into my life and speech despite having not set foot in a church since I was like 10, and I can't remember the last time I was in one before that.
Idk man cultural Christianity seems like a pretty damn useful term to describe my relationship with a religion I never fully bought into and then actively rejected as a child yet still hold weird connections to and knowledge of just because Christianity is so baked into the culture I grew up in like it or not. If you want to be mad, be mad at the Christians who stole your freedom from religion from you, not usually religious minorities who discuss cultural Christianity and how it damages them too.

no but,NO BUT, I just wrote on in my tags about it but isn't "Full Moon Full Life" basically a duet?? I'm sure the lotus juice part's written from the protagonist's point of view, but the parts where Azumi Takahashi(the lead singer) sings, it seems like the lyric's being sung from someone who's been watching the protagonist rather than the protag himself. This person seems to be cheering him on, aware of all of his journeys and acknowledges it all
They are the one who is aware of the eventual outcome.
No matter how far (No matter how far!)
How you'll go (How you'll go, how you'll go)
How long it may last
When there’s a beginning
There's an ending too
and they are "with" the protagonist, they refer to them as "we".
Only from the high will reach us to the sky
Ups and downs, we put these hands up and enjoy the ride
Only time will tell the magnitude of this
No longer we were made to be this way to keep
and they give protagonist life advice
As you go (As you go)
Believe in (Believe in)
The faith in yourself
Choices were made, reflect hope and fear
Be brave, enduring the pain
They also talk about something that "goes away" but will remain
The pictures fade away
But it will remain the same
in which the protagonist responds to as:
Heavy, low fates are riding like the trill
Abide by the rules, but I'll shine and prove it to you
I think this should be ryoji. I think this song's sung from ryoji's perspective. Him and the protagonist are singing together because they work like metaphors of life and death, they're pretty much inseparable and were essentially in a single body for a long period of time. To live life to the fullest, you have to acknowledge death too. So I think they're singing together this time for the remake Carpe Diem and all
you know how in burn my dread the protag "grapples down the god of fear and throws him into hell's fire?" I love that so much btw, I think it's a powerful take on living life head-on
but Full Moon Full Life might be making this "god of fear" and the protagonist make peace and sing together in harmony.
and it's death now that tells life:
It's your life, burn your dread
If that's the case, I think that's so beautiful and displays another way to embrace life

one of the reasons why TNP is one of my favorite IFs is because the cast is trans AND Hunter can be trans too and it will be acknowledged. when it was revealed in the story that Lea and Marry are trans too I was so happy!! there are barely any trans characters in IFs and VNs, even less of them are genderlocked/always trans no matter the chosen gender.
thank you! i always found it very transparent when a game only allows the mc to be nb (very few of them have actual options for binary trans people - it's too hard to do more than just code "they/them" pronouns and be vague i guess) and in my opinion that's way more immersion breaking, because that's not how the real world works. you will see trans people, every day, at like.. target or whatever. and this isn't even just about trans people but also diversity in general.
obviously when it comes to trans characters, this is an attitude that has changed a lot very fast over the past few years, so looking back at older games i don't necessarily expect there to be trans options, nor do i expect everyone to be out here writing complex "transgender" narratives, either. most people that accuse us of that are just bad faith actors. in my experience, people are just looking for basic acknowledgement; they want to see people like them existing and going on fun adventures, too. that's what i want, and that's why me, a trans author, likes to write about trans people being trans in the genre that i like - but rarely get to see myself in.
i also think when it comes to fantasy or scifi, how boring do you have to be to allow for fantastical world-building but draw the line at societal expectations? and if you want to really be specific about world-building, then why would a gender binary exist in a world where there was never a colonial power enforcing it? why do you want sexism, racism, and homophobia to exist so bad? why does it upset you so much when it doesn't?

Thinking about how Kakyoin couldn't really say why he wanted to come with Joseph Jotaro and Avdol to fight DIO. How do you tell an almost complete stranger that he's shown more kindness to you than anyone else in your entire life? How do you tell someone you were just trying to kill that he didn't just save you physically, he also jilted you into your journey of recovery? How do you tell someone that just risked his life and got physically violated for you that you've never even had the hope for being cared for like that? How do you tell someone that you've been humiliated, manipulated, physically and emotionally violated and the only way you can deal with the trauma is to confront it directly?

while i totally get your apprehension of viral self-improvement content, i would love to read a "museenkuss self-improvement/how to introduce change in your life" guide (if that's something you'd like to cover in a substack article or in a post on here)! ♥️
This means a lot to me, darling!! Thank you so much 🌹✨ once I’ve structured my thoughts on the matter (and put them into practice), I’ll write on it for SURE. 💋💋💋!
