One Life for One World

Emotions whirled inside Tei as she watched Aliasie and Urianger walk away. For all he’d told her to speak her mind, no one had actually given her a chance to do just that. Such was the state of her thoughts that she wasn’t sure if that was a bad thing or not in the end. Turning to F’anwylyd—who was watching her with eyes that seemed to hold no small amount of sympathy, as though she could sense Tei’s distress—the chocobo stepped forward and tenderly nibbled her ear. Tei enveloped her in a hug, the physical contact grounding her.

After a moment, she felt Fray’s presence, quietly offering her what support he knew how to give. When he realised she wasn’t going to push him away, he spoke.

I don’t understand it all, and I cannot speak to the conflict you are feeling, but I can say this: do not condemn your friend. He did what he had to do, what needed to be done, to save as many innocent lives as he could—to protect those who could not protect themselves—no matter the cost to himself. And of all people, who better to understand than us?

He paused. Tei stood there, holding fast to the faithful support and comfort of F’anwylyd, and waited for him to continue. She had become used to shutting him out after what had happened in Whitebrim—save for when they trained—but the events of the last few months gave her pause, and she felt herself cautiously lowering her barriers. She felt him start to reach out to her, then hesitate. After a moment, he dropped back and continued speaking.

I have much and more still to learn of you, Tei, but one thing I do know is that, though your methods would have been different, you would have done the same.

With a sigh, Tei opened her eyes and stepped around F’anwylyd to mount her, and with a gentle tug on the reins, Tei turned them towards Little Ala Mhigo. The shade was right. She gave F’anwylyd her head, and didn’t reply.

But she didn’t shut him out either. And that was a reply all the same.

Tenshi (cat) hates Sasha (dog), she’ll will hiss and growl at her and runaway in terror when Sasha chases her (the dog chases the other cat we have and he chases her too, it’s their way of playing and Sasha doesn’t understand that Tenshi doesn’t know this, yes Tenshi has seen Sasha and the other cat doing this).

She’ll also only stay on the bed with Sasha if her own bed is on there (it has raised sides so she feels protected).
