I know it’s common for RE fans to lament the fact that Leon never got to live his dream of being a cop but I feel like he was going to have a severely rude awakening resulting in the loss of his innocence either way. His chief of police was a serial rapist and murderer who liked to taxidermy his victims’ bodies. In an AU where umbrella never existed and there’s no zombies he most likely would have been harassed/threatened off the force bc he tried to expose Irons.

Total Drama Psycho Noah AU, when Noah became Chris' Assistant, both Chris and Chef eventually learn how INSANE Noah truly is and how great Noah is at hiding it... As a lowkey psycho himself, Chris thinks that it's awesome... Noah would sometimes give Chris deadly ideas for the show! 😈
See, Chris himself literally states that he's fond of Scary Girl/Lauren in the reboot because she's so unhinged. Given that he's a bit (read: a lot) of a sadistic sociopath (/pos), it's pretty much a given that he'd have a weird sort of appreciation for characters who can keep up with his more dangerous tendencies; just look at how many cameos Izzy makes in seasons she's not even supposed to be a part of! And how many times Izzy manages to re-enter the competitions she's already been voted out from!
He's definitely got a bias towards the more psychotically-inclined characters.
So of course he'd think that psycho!Noah is awesome.
He'd be fully aware of just how insane Noah is, and how eerily good he is at masking such, just by proxy of being the show's host.
Remember, Noah spends the majority of his confessional time straight up mocking and taunting the audience with what he could potentially do, given his skillsets and lack of integrity, and his and Izzy's scheming is hidden from the contestants but the two of them are diligent enough to ensure that the cameras can pick up on their crazed ramblings and plots- it's good content, after all. So pretty much everyone on the production team knows that Noah's missing a few screws, and is very much so an 'accident' waiting to happen.
Not that he'd ever intentionally hurt anyone. It's still Noah, after all, and he's far more inclined towards psychological warfare than anything physical. Noah's got more self-control than his confessionals would let on, but he finds a twisted sense of amusement in threatening the viewers with his 'instability' and portraying himself as a wolf in sheep's clothing. In the same vein, he's not entirely morally bereft, or particularly violent (certain incidents non-withstanding), but his commitment/indulgence in the whole 'unhinged psychopath' display often overrides his better judgement. It's just so fun to let loose and go wild, sometimes.
(He's far more susceptible to violence when it's 'justifiable'. Duncan's a bully and a thug, and he's the one to physically accost Noah first, so he gets bitten. The Ripper is supposedly a murderer, trying to manhandle and kidnap Noah, so he gets his hand privileges revoked by means of two broken forearms. The whole 'painting the knife red' talk was a bluff on Noah's part, he was playing it up for the camera knowing that Owen would intervene- something to keep the audience on their toes, and something to add validity to his confessional threats.)
Maybe that's the reason they (Chris and Chef) take him on as a personal assistant in the first place? Given that p!Noah spends the majority of him time during Island secretly plotting and scheming with Izzy to cause as much chaos as possible, or intentionally being as unnerving towards the audience in his confessionals for his own amusement, whilst ensuring that the other competitors were none-the-wiser to his true nature (save for Duncan, eventually, in the TDDDDI special), he's the perfect candidate for someone who can keep up with Chris' wilder ideas whilst also maintaining a level of professionalism needed for showbusiness.
Because he can mask his less palatable tendencies, and he can do so proficiently and consistently enough to keep the people he's essentially trapped with fooled for ~8 weeks. That's an impressive, telling display of just how cunning and capable p!Noah is.
Though I imagine a lot of his assistantship would be Chris full-on enabling the real Noah, by tasking him with challenge preparation and encouraging him to make the challenges more deadly ambitious. It's like enrichment for the both of them; Chris gets to watch chaos unfold under his guidance, and Noah gets to actively cause chaos without having to consider the social/tactical drawbacks.
It also has the added bonus of giving both Noah and Chris an outlet for their manic energy that's relatively harmless, as opposed to letting Noah stew under his mask of indifference until he really does snap and inadvertently or intentionally hurt someone.
Note my use of the word 'ambitious' there, because that's pretty much the main defining difference between canon Noah and p!Noah (despite the obvious). p!Noah has goals and ambitions, something regular Noah lacks entirely, and these goals are to wreak as much havoc as he can undetected.
Luckily, that motivation coincide with Chris' goal of hosting an exciting show. He wants to broadcast drama, tension, and thrills to the viewing world- what's more thrilling than the perpetual threat of a crazy person finally snapping and ditching the façade? Letting said crazy person run wild with ideas that impact the whole show!
Not too wild, though.
Meanwhile, I imagine that Chef is the one to play peacekeeper between this dynamic duo and the rest of the production team, since he pretty much acts as a pseudo-caretaker/minder for Chris in canon anyway. The 'Voice of Reason', if you will, and someone hardy enough to actually confront the two should they take things too far.

So. 24.4
I am screaming. I am crying. I am standing in a saltwater filled bathtub cradling a plugged in toaster. I am inconsolable and yet collected enough to write this because the truth is, I am angry and disappointed at the same time.
I don't want to blame wildbow or make accusations —they did create a pretty awesome setting and characters — but Regents death feels so unbelievably cheap it's making me want to kill something. Perhaps it's tainted by the fact that I'm reading it years after it was released, but after having seen several 'redemption through martyrdom' scenarios all I can say is that I hate them now as I hated them back when I first saw it in LOK.
It's impactful and dramatic, sure. But it's also so incredibly cheap. You don't want to put in the effort that would go into actually showing a character redeeming themselves and getting better. Worse perhaps the implications that you don't think a character — and by extension a person — can seriously improve, or prove themselves to be a better person unless they literally die for it.
On this very chapter there are several comments about this being the only heroic thing Regent ever did and it's making me want to scratch their eyes out and perhaps fill the sockets with maggots. He faced no less than four (4) S-class threats. But sure, dying is the only heroic thing he's capable of, especially in such a stupid, preventable manner.
Why exactly would imp assume a literal endbringer wouldn't be able to see through her abilities? And why would she risk that to aid someone when it's been established that she's the kind of person who needs to be persuaded to help? Why would she put herself in harms way like this, when the fallens own group is much better equipped to help them?
This, in combination with the way taylor narrates the last interactions with him really make it seem like this was just a way to wrap up the character that was too fucked up™ to be allowed to live, bonus if it makes the endbringer seem a little scarier — which for the record, it didn't. It just made imp look like an absolute idiot, and golem and tecton incompetent as they could have helped her without throwing themself in the line of fire. The only thing Regent provided was a momentary distraction — one of weavers bug decoys would have sufficed. His death was pointless and preventable.
I'm even more disappointed because armsmaster, you know the ADULT who deliberately chose to get people killed just to make himself look better was allowed a (sorta) redemption arc, but the abused, mentally ill teenager whose very sense of morals was completely distorted by his surroundings wasn't.
It would be one thing to kill him in an effort to show how dangerous this fight is, but to set it up in such a hollow way, just so he can sacrifice himself for Imp? It feels very deliberate, it feels forced, almost like an afterthought. Oh yeah still gotta wrap that up, better kill him. But make him sacrifice himself first because that's the only way people will ever acknowledge that he did something good. It may seem like a stupid thing to say after such an essay, but I am truly disappointed beyond words. Crushed, if you allow the ill timed pun

okay deeply unpopular opinion time. dogs. are gross. frankly it's unhinged that in our society it's normal to have an animal that for no reason runs around your house, gets hair on everything, smells bad, throws up on the floor, jumps on people, massively restricts the flexibility of your schedule, and goes to the bathroom in your yard which you then have to PICK UP with gloves and baggies. dogs are incredible animals that can be very smart and endearing but they need to have jobs, not just exist in your 500sq ft apartment to bark at and jump on your guests. "haha sorry he's just so excited to see people!!" no. he's just totally untrained and its not CUTE why do you think it's CUTE. *drops something while cooking* "haha its fine the dog will get it :)" susan. why is it ok that an animal is going to lick food of the ground. you know that doesn't make the floor clean, right. susan. SUSAN,

Class of 09 has been rotting my brain so much for the past week or two and it's both good and bad. It's good because I love looking at all the fanart and reading all the fanfics and it's unbelievably happiness-inducing. Bad because I can't really focus on anything else, including stuff like studying for university, and I think I overdosed on escapism to the point of being jealous of fictional characters. I kind of want to start writing my own Class of 09 fics, since it's eating away at my motivation for literally everything else, but so far I've written like two short stories for a pretty niche audience so I'm terrified of the idea of writing something that I know is going to have actual people reading it. I don't really have a point I'm getting to with this, just a ramble that almost no one will read. But uh. Yeah that 09 brainrot is really getting to me.

I do think that strict parents create anxious, sneaky, fearful adults with no self-esteem but I also think that parents who let their kids do anything create unstable, selfish, unempathetic adults with too much self-esteem so they can’t take constructive criticism and totally shut down whenever they’re met with conflict so like. How do you know how to get the balance right this is one of the things that scares me the most about potentially having kids one day bc I refuse to create a person in either extreme lmao

i need to say this
Tumblr media
look at this list of characteristics that dennis very much displays
Tumblr media
oh it's the dsm v criteria for a diagnosis of antisocial personality disorder aka the umbrella term for psychopathy and sociopathy (which are subsets and are not diagnosable anymore)
nowhere does it say that someone with aspd doesn't have emotions. accepting that dennis does have aspd doesn't take away the of course i have feelings. i would say that if we take into account the whole of the show literally everyone in the gang has aspd to some degree. going off on that tangent beneath the cut
disclaimer i KNOW this is a comedy and their traits are played up for laughs but i dont care
dennis:
fits 1 through 7. examples:
1: obvious
2: obvious, ass kickers united, johnny, dennis system, etc
3: impulsivity: im jumping in the pool, running the car into the river, marrying maureen, etc. failure to plan ahead: self sustaining economy though i don't think failure to plan ahead fits him in general
4: obvious, esp later on on the show
5: safety of self: taking crack to scam the government, safety of others: obvious
6: marrying maureen, never really works, didnt at the oldies rock cafe either. is not consistent with how he handles his money, on the gang gets whacked the only one in the gang to have any money was dee and she gets paid the least of all the gang
7: the way he racionalizes everything (hiding macs dads letters) or plain doesnt give a shit (dennis system) is insane
also showed signs before 15, animal cruetly and his whole high school golden god thing though that aligns wayyy more with npd which he 100% has too
dee:
1 and 2, 3 and 4 are debatable, 6 and 7. still more than 3 which is the minimum. examples:
1: obvious
2: $cammin
3: some failure to plan ahead, again $cammin, impulsivity as a generalized tendency i dont really know about
4: she does get in some physical fights, like in bums making a mess all over the city, and she did set her roomate on fire, but i wouldn't say that she's super super irritable
5: safety of self: crack, the whole pepper jack thing, though i wouldnt say this is super generalized in her, safety of others: obvious
6: i mean stick it to the man but from a normative living point of view she didnt work well at the oldies rock cafe either. not too bad on the handling her money front though i would say
7: doesnt regret setting her roomate on fire, doesnt regret getting that stripper to strip for his daughter (i dont remember at least), she was literally gonna kill dennis and frank to get the inheritance and when questioned about it her answers went to show that she probably would not feel remorse after doing it
i would say that if anyone is a psychopath (as in callousness as well as the stuff mentioned before) in the gang it's her. never has dennis been as callous as her in things like planning to kill him and frank like she truly didnt gaf that theyre her family. also histrionic personality disorder mayhaps and about 7 npd traits and you need 5 to be diagnosed so. lotta overlap tho you know how it is
mac i am actually kinda on the fence about. 1 for sure, 2 not really though he was disgusting in billboard contest and idk that id say quid pro quo harassment counts as conning for personal profit but idk, 3 kinda?? 4 meh hes kinda irascible but i wouldnt say that its in like. the dennis way, he does get in fights though (with dennis on mac bangs dennis' mom and charlie gets cr*ppled, with charlie on gang gets racist), 5 yeah, 6 we haven't really seen mac work outside of paddys so idk, but also bad with his money 7 in some episodes (extreme home makeover though he thought he was doing good so idk if im counting that, we are going to hunt you cricket, gang gives back, though i would say that this isnt generally a trait of his. that amounts to about 1 + 0 + 0.5 + 1 + 1 + 0.5 + 0.5 = 4.5 so hmm..but i will give that a meh
im getting tired but charlie is another meh, def different if we count out dee and charlie find love or not, because like yeah that was once but his manipulation for personal benefit + lack of regret were very marked. id also say schizotypal tendencies but not diagnosable also he lacks the whole social anxiety thing. but i feel like it must be taken into account that he happened to run into this group of people that accepts him, he might have turned out different if he had to be with normative people
frank is actually there in the minimum with 3, which r 1 5 and 7, but 5 is not super super prominent so idk
anyway im not a professional just yet so dont take any of this super seriously, just a psych major + they are characters in a tv show that can be pretty inconsistent with this stuff and that has episodes like gets extreme that just . outlier in how deranged they act
#dennis reynolds#dee reynolds#its always sunny in philadelphia#iasip#im so tired of the nooo dennis isnt a sociopath agenda cause like. yall!!!!#also dennis doesnt fit the dsm v criteria for bpd but thats a conversation for another day#because it requires 5 of the traits it lists and he barely displays 4#ale yasta si antes tenia 0 chance d getting anywhere en este fandom ahora es -3 pero idgaf#tired of the woobification accept they are diagnosable#also unrelated to sunny itself but.. antisocial does NOT equate asocial or someone who doesnt want to be with people as you have been able#o notice thru this post so please stop referring to urselves as antisocial unless ur going around like getting into fights and infringing t#e law.#also id have to ask my lawyer friend about this but...............i think that at least in the uk the legal definition of insanity is that#when you committed a crime you either thought you were doing something completely different or you truly didnt know what you were doing was#wrong. and in the gang gets extreme they genuinely think they are doing good to the not-juarez family while they completely (ilegally) wrec#their shit and stuff so. technically legally insane in that episode?#NO CLUE i know nothing about the law as opposed to charlie#anyway logging off forever#last tag dennis also prbably has an eating disorder#and yeah charlie dyslexia mac possible adhd etc#look at me a former r*se lal*nde near kinnie waving the dsm around like an asshole. proud of where ive come#like even when i started m*ths i kneww this is what i was gonna end up doing#m treure el pir i starem totes contentes jo ho veig#se puede companyes#no anon hate i am very sensitive i still think of the kys i got like 2 years ago#also i got anon hate for disliking meiko the v*caloid as a teenager. lol

sorry yall its been too long since i last posted polychamps angst so can i refresh u with this idea:
tw for cannibalism i guess
An INTRUSIVE idea that's been in my head lately is the idea that Capsaicin has eaten other cookies before.
Mostly just for survival at the time, due to an... incident when he was a child. He got over it as he grew older and left it buried in his past. But overtime he starts to miss the taste of warm, freshly baked cookies. Something about watching cookies just roaming the streets of different kingdoms and schools... it was like free meals just sitting right in front of him. But for the sake of the cookies at his school, he refrained himself as much as possible.
Obviously when he leaves the arena with Kouign and Prune Juice, he tells them this. It's not something he's proud of. But Kouign and Prune Juice don't hate him for it or feel scared of him.
Prune Juice tries coming up with potions to satiate Capsaicin's hunger for cookies. Kouign-Amman tries to do it manually through means of therapy. Until eventually they realize nothing was working.
Capsaicin didn't want to come out of his room due to the fact that he thought he was a monster.. which he was, by all means. But not to Prune and Kouign. In fact, they told him to embrace this new habit of his and only use it for good. Like for example, killing a corrupt politician or serving 'justice' to a criminal.

"[T]he Nautolan said, "You did know that Dalok's an Abyssin, didn't you? That Abyssins have regenerative abilities?" ... "No," he lied. "I didn't know." The Rodians trembled. Maul knew he was going to enjoy his time at Orsis Academy." (Windham, 83-4).
You can see in this excerpt Maul's inheritance so far. He was taught sadism and the pleasure of being feared through example by Sidious. He was taught to lie for his own benefit by Deenine. Up to this point, Maul has been a brutally honest child. By being honest with him, she gave him the gift of dishonesty.
I wonder what gifts Kilindi will give him.
