I can’t believe I didn’t know that Dave Gahan and Martin Gore are autistic because now that I know, it just makes so much sense.
Come to think of it, I don’t know why I ever thought ANYONE in Depeche Mode was allistic. I don’t think they have a single allistic member.

1 in 10 infections (not people, actual infections) will result in long covid for most people. Significant nerological impacts, significant cardiovascular impacts, fatigue and chronic pain, complications with other conditions, and other symptoms we dont yet understand are what come with long covid. And yet, the World Health Organization has declared today that the pandemic is over.
The covid pandemic is not over at all, only just beginning. The mass disabling of people over time of repeated infections will overwhelm our deeply ableist systems not built for accommodating disability on a wide scale.

i think finnstr is delightful to me because in a lot of ways he is single handedly reintroducing everybody to being a transvestite as like, a thing. to cross-dressing as a lifestyle. nobody could look at this guy and tell me he's not a little bit queer -- he's definitely not standard model -- but our modern taxonomy doesnt have a spot for him: he isn't trans (in its current definition), but he also isn't really cis.
it's interesting because it was only relatively recently that transvestitism got shoved out of the official rainbow flag. our modern definition of trans as just "transgender" is a reduced capacity of what it was just ten years ago, when "trans*" was often used to mean "transgender, transsexual, transvestite, genderqueer, nonbinary, etc".
i think the main "party line" of the marriage equality movement being "we should be allowed to be weird because we were born this way, we don't have a choice" did some major damage but one of the most significant was definitely the removal of people who do "have a choice" from the "community" entirely. transvestites got kind of entirely booted, and people fight about whether bisexuals or asexuals should be allowed because they "have a choice to blend in". finnstr does have a choice, but he keeps making it. why should that preclude him from being queer?

I think it’d be really funny to play with timelines just enough so that Jason, after dying and undying or whatever, comes back to Gotham only to see not only Batman having gained like four more kids, but at least half the justice league have a bunch more kids as well.
Batman’s adoption problem isn’t just genetic, it’s contagious and there are so many time travel/dimension shenanigans to work through here, as well as an unsettling number of secret bio kids, and Jason is one more “wait, where did they come from” away from tearing out his hair so he finally decides the rest of his plan can wait. He needs answers.
He’s not going to go ask Batman for anything, obviously, so someone else will have to do. There are many great potential options here, but my pick? Hal Jordan.
Just Jason going to Hal because Batman would never look for him there and Hal wondering how he went from discovering Gotham’s Red Hood in his kitchen to explaining the family structures of the entire Justice League to Batman’s not-so-dead son.
