i think that a lot of people's criticism of taylor writing a breakup album again comes from them becoming fans because of folklore/evermore which were "fictional" and not necessarily tied to what was happening in her life at that specific moment, and then seeing midnights which focused a lot on the past rather than this specific moment as well, and they're uncomfortable with her presenting her own life and experiences so clearly because they're not used to it
