Part 2 of the Nesta gets sick, acofas re-write thing

This is not my best work honestly. It's more of my quick writing. But you know what? It is what it is. Not everything can be a masterpiece and I should post things even when I don't think it's perfect. Keeps me humble and keeps me brave. This was a pep talk for me.

Part 1

~

The icy wind scars his face, but it's a small form of torture. Her name sits on his tongue, but he has yet to see if the mountains will hear him or if the people of Velaris will point the way.

Which tavern? Which music hall? Which book store? Which person's bedroom will he find her in?

How drunk will she be?

Cassian wishes he was drunk right now, but...

Has he ever been sober since he's seen her face?

Cassian sees her and the words spill out his mouth. Nothing honest--no. If he were telling the truth, he'd have sunk to his knees. Human, fae, or... death.

She breathed life back into him.

Now Nesta's being haunted by her thoughts, drinking them away, so they may be silenced, so the ice on his face--the piercing slice of winter, is a small price to pay. A small sacrifice. A small revenge for he deserves more than this.

"Nesta!" he yells, but Cassian's sure the wind swallows his call, howling like a wolf to the moon.

Cassian doesn't like the thought of her traveling in this. The city is bright, but he's unsurprised that many of the businesses are closed. It is a holiday after all. Thankfully, the taverns are alight with patrons and noise. He's almost glad it's open if only to offer Nesta reprieve.

Because she isn't at home when he knocks on her door. He can't sense her at all. Cauldron knows her apartment must not have good heating, or at least the door felt as cold as ice. Quiet and mocking. For that alone, Cassian's sure she'd be somewhere here.

So which tavern will it be?

He clenches his fist, but he tells himself it's to warm them and not because the thought of her uncared for goads on his nerves. Not because the thought of her cared for in another's bed makes him want to gut someone brutally.

"We haven't seen her, my lord," the barkeeper says.

"Cassian," he quickly corrects, though he knows none of the workers will do as he asks, formality running heavy throughout town.

"We haven't seen her in a couple of days actually," a younger fae, who offers to pour him a drink, notes. "She usually sits right over there, nearest to the musicians. They've been traveling, you see, so perhaps she's tried another tavern."

"We hope she comes back, my lord. Our high lady's sister is always welcome."

Cassian is sure she is, since he's seen the bills collected on her behalf. "Do you know where she might be?"

The barkeeper shrugs, "maybe Blue Mill? Have you tried the Wolf's den?"

"She's not there," he says, though Cassian offers his thanks and moves on to another tavern down the way, much tamer than the last.

Nesta's not at that one either. The snow sprinkles down and it packs the ground in deep white. He can feel it in his boots.

Where can Nesta be?

Perhaps, he should have told Azriel to send his shadows, but he does what he knows, so he shoots to the sky, not bothering to think about how much his wings will ache from this weather.

He doesn't know how long he searches, before something starts eating at his gut. Something pokes and prods at his chest. Something is not right.

Something is terribly wrong, and it is not this storm or the sting against his wings. It's not the fact that the city sings even from above, as if nothing but him can sense this.

Nesta is nowhere in sight.

She's not at the bridge, the taverns, the trail to her house, the walk to the bookstores, along the Sidra. There is nothing that says that Nesta lives here, all he sees is white.

White is the color of death, he finds, and something morbid calls him forth.

Nesta. Nesta. Nesta.

He thinks the wind calls her name, an echo of his voice. A chant. Cassian thinks of death gods. Of monsters. Of villainous people.

What is happening to her?

Why can't he find her?

Cassian circles the mountain, pulling at his hair.

There.

A scarf circles around a lamp post and it looks like the one Elain gifts to Nesta for her birthday last spring. Light blue and waving hello, come find me, I need you. When he grasps it, Cassian can catch the slightest whiff of her scent.

"Nesta," he calls, peering at the space as if she'll come out of hiding. He sees piles of snow, no footprints in sight. All he can smell is wind and winter and cold. "Nesta!"

He finds a shroud near the stairs, her head lying against the stone. Touches of brass and pale skin. Snow has already begun to pile on her body. A blanket of white. A funeral.

"Nesta," he gasps. "Nesta. Nesta!"

She is so perfectly silent, it fills him with dread.

"Talk to me, Nesta," he demands as he grasps her shoulders, and then her hands, blowing into them as if that my warm her from the inside out.

Her cheeks are a budding pink and her lips are tinged in blue. Cassian thinks of death, corpses, and pale flesh. He can't help it. Nesta lays so still, he wants to throw up.

Her heart beat is faint, but Cassian thinks it might just be the wind drowning out any noise. At least he keeps repeating that to himself, because pulling out his own won't help hers beat louder or stronger.

"I'm going to take you to the house," he says, though she doesn't make a sound. Nesta's head lulls into his neck as he holds her to his chest. Cassian's surprised to find a touch of warmth at her skin and for that he sends a thousand thanks to the Mother.

"I've got you Nesta," he says, kissing at the top of her head without thinking. "I've got you."

I'm never leaving you alone, again.

You see I have a very good memory, so I had this book series memorized like the back of my mind. But then I went into a PhD program, and brain dumped it all. SO I cannot remember some details or at least I can't remember which things happened in what book... just like SJM ( LOL ). So if this is not bookly accurate, just ignore it. Nothing about this is bookly accurate anyway.

Also this is hella dramatic. I should have really just started off with... he found her with no explanation... which is what I usually do. But I tried to give explanation. And... it's dramatic. But whateva.

Health Conscious Curry: Hypmic Curry Drama Track TL

Jakurai: Hifumi-kun, Doppo-kun. I thank you for coming all this way to help make our curry. Time is of the essence, so let us begin right away.

Hifumi: Okie dokie!! I’ve got a bunch of ingredients here, so we can make whatever kind of curry we want!

Jakurai: Oh my! It does indeed look like a supermarket sized collection.

Doppo: And if there’s anything missing, please just say the word and I’ll run out to buy it!

Hifumi: So we got chicken, beef, pork, lamb and venison! And I even bought seafood and veggies, but I can’t decide on what main ingredient should be!

Jakurai: With this curry battle, it’s to be expected that the other divisions’ quirks will present itself in their curry.

Doppo: So then… what would be our trait?

Hifumi: Well, that’s obvs gotta be “finacially secure adults,” right?

Doppo: “Financially Secure Adults’ Curry” … Then, should we use this high-class sea urchin?

Jakurai: Yes, let’s. And… I would like to use something that makes one think of Shinjuku.

Hifumi: Great idea~! Something like our glimmering neon lights~!

Doppo: “Glimmering Neon Curry” …? D-do any of these ingredients light up??

Hifumi: Heehee~ I thought something like this would come up, so I brought some gold luster dust!!

Jakurai: It will surely be beautiful as a finish.

Hifumi: Chan-Doppo, you gotta let me know what you think too~!

Doppo: B-But it’s not like I have any cooking sense…

Jakurai: Doppo-kun. This is a curry to be made by the three of us. Therefore, you’re indispensable.

Doppo: I-Is that so…?

Jakurai: Of course. Please do not feel hesitant; let’s make this curry together.

Doppo: Um… If it’s okay, I really would like meat to be in the curry…

Hifumi: Cool!! What kinda meat??

Doppo: We’re trying for a sense of luxury, so I guess we should use beef, but some people don’t like beef… So, I guess chicken would be the safest choice? No, but it has to be something special, so we should use game meats right…?? Aaaargh, this is too hard, I can’t make up my mind!!

Hifumi: Woah?? But don’t take it out on the meat??

Jakurai: …How fascinating.

Hifumi: Eh?

Jakurai: A doctor, a host, and a salaryman are certainly on different corners of society… And yet, somehow, life has brought us together. I feel that this is the appeal of Shinjuku Division.

Doppo: I see! So then we should… Um, what should we do?

Hifumi: We should go with this!!

Doppo: We’re using all the meat??

Hifumi: Heh heh~!! We’re going to combine these land meats and sea meats and make it work!! It’ll be like we're making the Curry Division!!

 Jakurai: Haha. I hope we’ll be able to create a harmony of it, just like ours as Matenrou.

Doppo: It looks amazing!! Is this really our curry…??

Jakurai: It has quite the impact. As for the taste…

MTR: *eats*

Doppo: It’s so good!!! None of the ingredients are overpowering, but it still tastes like fine dining…!!

Hifumi: Heh heh~!! Obviously it’s because we only used the finest! If we sold this at a restaurant, you’d have to pay yen in the tens of thousands!!

Doppo: That can’t be the price?? Who would buy our curry??

Hifumi: Welp, I think that’s something the curry battle producers are gonna have to think about! …But, what’s up, Doc? You’re making a weird face over there.

Jakurai: I must apologize to the both of you. I have overlooked the most important aspect I wanted to include.

Doppo: W-What was it?

Jakurai: For this curry battle, I wanted to stress the importance of eating meals to maintain health. This curry is far too high in cholesterol, fats and in purines….

Hifumi: And using butter rice probably isn’t helping keeping that calorie count down…

Jakurai: If we continue to eat this, I fear gout and obesity would be imminent.

Doppo: That’s horrible!! I can’t believe we created something that dangerous…!!

Jakurai: This curry is a masterpiece. However, if it’s alright, can we create something else from a healthier standpoint?

Hifumi: Can do! But we kinda used up all our ingredients in that first batch…

Doppo: ...Ah! We still have these left!

Jakurai: Canned chickpeas and canned tomatoes…!!

Hifumi: Way to go, Doppochin!! If we use these, our curry’s bound to be healthy, right??

Jakurai: Yes. Beans are rich in dietary fibers and in protein and tomatoes have antioxidant benefits. This curry will surely be a healthy dish.

Doppo: A curry that’s conscious of health is still something of an adult appeal, right?

Jakurai: And to support everyone’s busy day to day lives, this meal will heal the mind and body. Victory is sure to be set with our “Health Conscious Curry”!

CHRIS IS GETTING PAID HANDSOMELY FOR HIS EFFORTS…

Autumn is over so it’s time to get back to work…

Chris has finally grown tired of looking at leaves and trees changing colors. Also all that reflecting he did with his kind of wife must have become tiresome. Pottery and weed will have to be put on hold for a while since he is getting ready to get back to work. He had said that there won’t be another year with 3 movies. But this coming year already has 2 and according to rumors there’s more in the pipelines. 

Chris is getting the best opportunities he’s had in a very long time…

Certain blogs (trolls/plants) were obviously lying when they were stating that Chris was blacklisted. He didn’t agree to this shitshow, so that he could retire in the sunset with his Nazi “bride”. We knew that there would be payment for all of his efforts. Sure for a lot of us, his efforts selling this RS/marriage didn’t look that great but they were good enough for his masters anyway. And it was all that mattered in the end. 

And now he is getting his reward. Look at the 2 gigs he just got. 

Honey Don’t is directed by Ethan Coen, a multi academy award winner. And Celine Song (the director of the materialists) just directed Past lives which is considered by many to be a masterpiece. And I personally agree, that movie is extraordinary.

Sure we don’t know how these new movies will turn out but these are the most exciting projects he has been a part of since Sunshine by Danny Boyle and Snowpiercer by Bong Joon-ho. If you exclude his involvement in Marvel of course. 

So Chris is getting amazing opportunities at the moment and yet it makes little sense. 

Payment for the PR shitshow…

Not that Chris is not talented. I do believe he is. But he has recently starred in many panned movies, that were not only flops commercially but critically as well. And he just got his first nomination for a Razzie award. Actually he even got 2 nominations at the Razzies. Red One looks like another disaster in the making.

His numbers on social media are plummeting. The engagement is quite low. So the math ain’t mathing. But actually it does…

Anyone who had followed Sebastian Stan’s own shitshow knew of the great opportunities Seb got after it and is still getting to this day. Chris is following the very same route. Anyone who is excited to see Chris in these exciting new projects needs to understand that this PR shitshow was the price to pay for it. 

Most actors go through ups and downs. Sometimes the downs can be terribly long and horribly painful. By agreeing to this PR, he has taken a shortcut. He has taken the easy way out. Or the lazy way out I should say. I do consider what he did to be a lot more difficult for the soul though. No one is in his shoes and we can't judge. All we can do is to wish him the very best and hope that all of this was worth it.

Very early breakfast

As little droplets of rain tip tap on your window, you realize you are awake. The sun is barely out, the streetlights are still on and yet you feel completely refreshed. You had an amazing night of sleep. You stretch out your arms as you yawn. You contemplate the idea of staying in bed for another hour or two, but you are rarely up so early and so you decide to seize the day.

As you get out of bed, you grab a warm hoodie. It’s one chilly morning. You make yourself a nice hot beverage and sigh as you look out the window. Why can’t every morning be like this. Oh yeah ! Life. The sun is finally showing its rays and illuminates the sky in a thousand colours. You decide that your dingy windows are not where you want to see such a masterpiece. So you make your way to your front door to see the real sky in all it’s glory.

But as you open your door…it stops ? It’s as if something is blocking it ! You push harder and harder and, finally, it opens. You peek your head out to see what was blocking it, it was a collapsed body. “Aaah !!!?” You scream in surprise. To this, the body twitches, and slowly rises. You are greeted by a worn out but familiar face. It’s that superhero guy you met a while back.

“….(Y-Y/N)…I-I…..”

And he fell back face first on the ground. “Ah!!?” You said again. What happened to him ? And more importantly, what is he doing here ?! You guess that you can’t exactly ask him now, so you decide to bring him inside for now. As you grab him, you notice how cold his skin feels. He was out here for a while it seems. But something else chocks you. Is he even lighter than he was before?

Inside, you put him on the couch and cover him with blankets. You make your way to your kitchen to prepare a second cup of hot beverage for your unexpected guest. As you come back, cup in hand, you see that the man has awoken and seems to question where he is. “Mh…Hey !” You utter. He jumps a bit but calms down when he recognises you. “O-oh. (Y/N)…Good evening.” He gives you a polite bow.

You put down the cup in front of his and sit near him. “It’s morning…actually..” You begin. “Soo…hm…” You were  going to ask him the question that is burning your lips but you notice his eyes glancing back and forth at the cup, eagerly. You push it a little closer to him. “P-please drink. I made it for you.” “O-Oh ! T-Thank you !” He pretends he wasn’t eying the drink and does another little bow as he pick up the cup and savours the liquid. You decide to let him finish drinking before you question him.

It is not very long until the cup is bone dry. “T-Thank you..” He mutters shyly. “No problem.” You smile. “But now...I’d like to know what you’re doing here !” He jolts suddenly. “Oh ! Of course !!” He fumbles through his pockets and takes out various coins and a few bills. “H-here. It’s what I owed you for...last time…” You don’t take the money, instead you inspect it. You have a feeling that it’s the exact price of the pizza you bought for him, down to the cent. “I told you I didn’t need you to repay me.” “B-But I must !” He insists. You back away a bit. “No, really, please keep it. I’m sure you need it more than I do !” “N-no ! I don’t-..”

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooowwwwls…

Silence erupts through the room. The Vigilante has never been more red. You bear the silence by giggling. “You sure about that ?” “I-I..hm…mmmh..” He can’t form a sentence. You guess that he must have saved up every loose cent and dollar to pay you back. You sigh. “Honestly, you look even worse than when we first met. Just earlier, you collapsed on my doorstep. Be honest, was it from hunger ?” He looks the other way. “N-No…..it could be lack of sleep…” You sigh a second time. “I though you said you were going to take better care of yourself!” “I-I know…I’m……..sorry…” Now it feels like you’re scolding him again.

You stand up. “I was going to make pancake for breakfast today, does that sound good to you ?” You visibly caught him by surprise. “H-Han ?! N-no no no ! I-I cannot ask this of you ! I-I’m fine really I…” “HEY !” You take a serious tone. “You help people all night and don’t ask for nothing, so you can let me help you while not giving me anything in return !! Right ?!” He backs away. “R-Right..” You are satisfied. “Good. Well make yourself at home. It won’t take long.”

You leave this nervous man in your living room as you start cooking in the kitchen. For a while, there a pure silence. Than, shy little steps trot behind you. As you turn around, you see a shy and nervous but determined hero. “I won’t try to repay your kindness anymore…but please let me help you!” You can help but smile. “alright, measure the flour please.” Happily, he gets to work. The two of you continue your cooking cheerfully. It’s early in the morning. There is a strange man in a hero costume in your kitchen and you’re making pancake with him. What a day.

The Vigilante is very diligent in his cooking. Measuring things precisely and clean up after every spill. Although he is eying every ingredient with hungry eyes. As you start frying the pancakes, his tummy begins to cry loudly due to the smell and sound of the frying doe. You feel bad for making him wait but you hope it will be worth it. Of course he apologizes at every groan of his belly and acts all shy about it which makes it even harder on you.

Finally, the pancakes are ready and you begin eating. You made a double recipe to be sure that the hero has his fill. But to your surprise, the Vigilante does not eat much. He took only a few more pancakes than you did and no matter how you pry he claims he can’t take a bite more. You wonder if his stomach is so used to being empty that it shrank or something. You guest does look full and so you decide to let him be.

You offer him to stay longer and rest a bit but he declines. “I thank you for your offer. But I have duties to attend to.” “Hero duties ?” You ask, jokingly. “N-no. Normal duties.” So he DOES have a job. “Well, take care. And do it for real this time !” You point your finger at him to make your point more serious. He laughs a bit. “Yeah. Yeah. I will. Thank you for everything, once again.” You smile. “No problem ! Anytime !” you wave him good bye and go back to you living room. But as you pass by the table you notice…something. A bunch of coins…and bills…with a thank you note. “. . . THAT FREAKING- !!!”

18. Are there emotions that come to you easily while writing? Or ones that are difficult for you to describe?

Weirdly, because I’m generally a happy person…pain, frustration, and heartbreak come rather easily to me? (Shocking, looking at my fic list, I know). I wouldn’t say any are particularly difficult that I can think of at the moment.

19. Who is another author (fanfic or otherwise) that you admire? Why?

Anyone writing a multichapter fic! ESPECIALLY anyone tackling a canon novel-length one like @chdarling’s TLE, @thequibblah’s Come Together, and @possessingtheproperspirit’s The Price We Pay. And can’t forget about the fics that you can take SO MUCH research like @clare-with-no-i’s Theogony, and other gems like @nodirectionhome-ao3’s Kindly Stopped for Me and @theesteemedladydebourgh’s The First Time Divorcee’s Club.*

The amount of planning my 5-chapter pirate fic took was such a headache I cannot fathom the amount of work and care that goes into masterpieces like these.

20. When do you get most of your ideas and inspiration for writing?

Frustratingly, when I’m going to sleep or when I’m DRIVING. I think driving happens because when I drive is my prime time for listening to music, and music is where I get a lot of my fic inspiration.

My Most Anticipated Movies of 2024

Here we are - Christmas behind us and right at the precipice of the end of the year with 2024 ready to rock and rumble. So naturally as per usual this time of year I do all my film-related Top 10 lists, with the first up My Most Anticipated Movies of 2024. An interesting aspect of 2024 is that it is in fact bare bones when it comes to superhero flicks with both Marvel and DC taking a little break as they reorganise that respective cinematic universes, with the only major flicks of that genre being Deadpool 3 and the Joker sequel. As such, I’m really hoping we will get some stand out releases from the indie and more niche market, so looking forward to those surprises down the line, as for now here are the movies on my radar who I see having potential at being the stand outs in 2024…

10) KUNG FU PANDA 4 - Jack Black’s Po the Dragon Warrior is back for another round of hijinks. DreamWorks animation sequels recently have been nothing short of superb, with the genuinely laugh-out-loud hilarious Croods 2 and then the fantastic Puss in Boots: The Last Wish that had no right to be THAT good! Like honestly, how the hell was Puss in Boots 2 so awesome!? From the striking and ambitious animation style, to the soundtrack and one hell of a title track with “Fearless Hero”, to the narrative itself tackling surprisingly mature themes and honest depictions of panic attacks - Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is a masterpiece! There, I said it. As such really high hopes now for DreamWorks’ other projects, with Kung Fu Panda always a reliable series, yet I must say the trailer was a tad underwhelming hence why it’s so low on the list. Still though, the previous 3 have been solid so no reason for this one not to. Let’s give this panda some love!

9) THE MINISTRY OF UNGENTLEMANLY WARFARE - Director Guy Ritchie has been on a real hot-streak lately, delivering quality after quality. 2019’s The Gentlemen is one of the coolest gangster flicks in recent memory, 2015’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E was an entertaining action espionage caper with some great humorous banter, and this year’s The Covenant was one of the more underrated surprises, delivering a tense and realistic pulse pounding war thriller that was so out of character for Ritchie, yet honestly delivered such an edge of your seat experience. Then there’s that Aladdin remake with a blue Will Smith. Look, everyone’s gotta pay the bills, but nonetheless Guy Ritchie really is hitting the mark non-stop, so really looking forward to this World War II based action spy film produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Love the title alone. Also Henry Cavill’s in the lead and that guy’s simply cool.

8) ARGYLLE - So much so that this is the second film on the list featuring Henry Cavill in the lead. What a cast - John Cena, Sam Rockwell, Dua Lipa, Bryce Dallas Howard, Samuel L. Jackson, Sofia Boutella and Bryan Cranston. Talk about an ensemble! This comes to us from Matthew Vaughn who made those Kingsman movies, and one could argue that this looks and feels like a Kingsman movie. Wouldn’t even be surprised if at the film’s end there will be a twist connecting it to that franchise Cloverfield-style. Looks like a good time though, as long as they brush up on their special effects, as that CGI cat is Garfield-level bad!

7) BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE - When a music biopic is done right then it is SO right! Taron Egerton rocked as Elton John in Rocketman, and Baz Luhrmann visual frenetic style paired really well with the crazy life of Presley in 2022’s Elvis. And who can of course forget the incredible tale of Dewey Cox, as he walked hard through his drug-filled Bob Dylan-stealing life where absolutely nothing bad happened to him. I’m of course kidding, but if you’ve never seen Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story then you’re missing out on of the funniest music biopic satires ever. That movie is hilarious and the Beatles scene alone is worth the price of admission. Anyway, in regards to One Love, the trailers for this Bob Marley biopic have actually been really intriguing. Kingsley Ben-Adir seems to be impersonating the famous reggae singer really well and the movie itself seems to offer a powerful depiction of Marley’s journey behind his revolutionary music. At the very least I’m going to enjoy listening to “Buffalo Soldier” on the big screen, and that’s gotta count for something.

6) FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA - One of the stand-outs of George Miller’s absolute batshit insane wasteland hit Mad Max: Fury Road was Charlize Theron’s headstrong Furiosa. Well Theron is not returning and instead Anya Taylor-Joy takes on the role as a younger version of the character. I am always hesitant with prequel stories as I always wonder what’s the point of them, however Miller’s Fury Road was visually incredible with some outstanding action sequences, and additionally the trailer for Furiosa features an unhinged Chris Hemsworth, and for those of you who’ve seen Bad Times at the El Royale you’ll know the guy can play insane really well.

5) DRIVE AWAY DOLLS - The Coen Brothers are behind some of the most thrilling crime capers in film history, yet recently they temporarily parted ways to focus on their own projects. Joel went on to direct a truly spectacular Shakespeare adaptation of Tragedy of Macbeth that gave Roman Polanski’s original a run for its money, and now Ethan Coen has got his first solo directorial outing with Drive Away Dolls. It’s a queer roadtrip buddy comedy about two friends whose spontaneous trip to Tallahassee is undermined by a gang of amateur criminals. Should be a fun time at the movies with hopefully some of the Coens’ signature wit, and the supporting cast featuring Pedro Pascal and Matt Damon simply sounds delightful.

4) MICKEY 17 - Bong Joon-Ho’s highly anticipated science fiction film starring Robert Pattinson. Not much is known about this however Joon-Ho is fresh of winning an Oscar for Best Picture for his incredible Parasite, and Pattinson has really proven in the last decade that he’s a very talented actor, and that the quicker we forget about his Twilight times the better. Look, it’s a movie that is made by a very talented group of people, so I’m really rooting for this one to be a hit.

3) DEADPOOL 3 - One of the few superhero flicks of 2024, and the only one I really care about, as, well, it’s fricking Deadpool! The first two were awesome, and we have Ryan Reynolds back in this one, this time with the highly anticipated return of Wolverine himself - Hugh Jackman. Again, there are reasons to be worried, as the MCU’s Multiverse saga has been very underwhelming and this film is posed to be at the centre of this cinematic plot line. Additionally, due to the writer’s strike earlier in 2023 Ryan Reynolds was not allowed to improvise on set, and I feel like Deadpool thrives of the ad-libbing and actors being allowed to act in the moment, so take that away and what do we have? Fingers crossed the team know what they are doing and I’m still really looking forward to it, yet Deadpool 3 has a lot to prove come it’s summer release day.

2) MAXXXINE - The final entry is Ty West’s horror trilogy X. Following the only survivor of the bloody incidents of X, Maxine continues her journey towards fame to be an actress in 1980s Los Angeles. Both X and Pearl really reinvigorated the horror genre as they both took inspiration from the old yet managed to blend in something new, as such making this third installment one of my most anticipated this year. In fact, I don’t enjoy horror films that much, so when one gets me so invested it really proves a point that it is something truly special.

1)THE LORD OF THE RINGS: WAR OF THE ROHIRRIM - Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy are my favourite set of films ever. So of course anything to do with Lord of the Rings gets my blood pumping. Amazon Prime’s recent Rings of Power show was an absolute slap to the dick, and was such a disservice to the fans, however War of the Rohirrim sounds more promising. The prequel will be an anime adaptation of Tolkien's world and will take inspiration from the look and feel of Peter Jackson's original trilogy, with Miranda Otto returning to narrate, and as you may recall Otto played Eowyn, the daughter of Theoden, in the original trilogy. The film is directed by anime industry heavyweight Kenji Kamiyama, known for his work on Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Blade Runner: Black Lotus, promising excitement for both Tolkien and anime fans with his impressive track record. It sounds like The War of the Rohirrim will be worth the wait at least because at Annecy Film Festival in June 2023, an exclusive first look was screened and the first reactions are very positive. And look, it is a new Lord of the Rings movie that will be playing in cinemas! I am very afraid but also very excited!

The title in itself is already genius, but then when you read further that pales in comparison to how fucking brilliant this is. The AU is perfectly translated and all our beloved characters and their stories drafted for the fic fit seamlessly. All the Top 5s are hilarious and relatable and/or discussable, and inside all of that you have two sad boys who need to find their way back to each other ♥️ Please do yourself a favour and go read it, and then go and read all of the author's works, because Greysnow or not, her way with words is one of the most unique and fascinating things I've ever encountered.

Two men, broken beyond recognition, but still there, still alive and now reunited after being through the wars - and they do recognize each other (sobs galore!!) The attention to both Jon and Theon's characters is stunning, the descriptions gritty and evocative, the whole AU idea so so SO good. Special mention to Satin, the true MVP. 2 more chapters of this masterpiece are coming, and I couldn't be more thrilled! Go and read and subscribe and bookmark, you won't regret it one bit.

Dany says: I had a really hard time trying to choose one out of my 100+ Greysnow works (I have either too much time or too little self-control, or both), but in the end I decided to go with my longest fic (so far, I'm pretty sure 1x1 will be double that in the end). I can't objectively say anything about the quality, but I can tell you it was a blast to write and I still love everything about this fic.

It was a dark and stormy night, as all good horror stories tend to begin. I was sitting alone in my room, staring at the blank page in front of me. I needed inspiration, something to spark my creative juices and lead me to my next masterpiece.

My name is Amelia, and I am a struggling writer. I have always dreamed of fame and success, of being a household name with my words adorning bookshelves around the world. But reality has been far from kind to me. I have poured my heart and soul into my writing, but it never seems to be enough.

I was lost in my thoughts when I heard a knock on my door. Startled, I got up to answer it. To my surprise, it was my childhood friend Alexander. We hadn't seen each other in years, but he had always been my biggest supporter. He had read every single one of my stories, and his encouragement had kept me going even in my darkest moments.

'What are you doing here, Alex?' I asked, pulling him into a hug.

'I was in town for a business trip and thought I'd stop by to see my favorite writer,' he replied, grinning.

I invited him in and we caught up over cups of hot cocoa. As the rain pelted against my window, I told him about my struggles with writing and my desire for fame. He listened intently and then said something that sent shivers down my spine.

'Have you ever thought about making a deal with the devil?' he asked with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

I laughed at first, thinking he was joking. But the more he talked, the more I was convinced that he wasn't. He told me about an eerie old mansion on the outskirts of town, where an elusive figure was said to reside. The figure was known as the Muse and it promised fame and success to those who were willing to pay the price.

I was skeptical, but Alex's words lingered in my mind. As he left, he handed me a slip of paper with the address of the mansion scribbled on it. I stared at it for a long time, unsure of what to do.

The next day, against my better judgment, I found myself driving to the address. The mansion was foreboding, with overgrown ivy climbing up its walls and dark windows staring back at me. I took a deep breath and rang the doorbell.

To my surprise, the door was opened by a woman who looked like she had stepped out of an old Hollywood movie. She was beautiful and elegant, but there was something chilling about her.

'Amelia, I presume?' she said, her voice silky smooth.

I nodded, unable to find my voice.

'Come in, my dear. The Muse has been expecting you,' she said, leading me inside.

The mansion was filled with haunting artwork and I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was being watched. I followed the woman to the study, where a figure was sitting in a high-backed chair. Its face was hidden in the shadows, but I could feel its piercing gaze on me.

'So, you want fame, Amelia?' the figure asked in a voice that sent a chill down my spine.

I nodded, unable to find my voice.

'Very well. I can make you famous, but it comes with a price,' the Muse said, stepping into the light.

It was a grotesque creature with twisted features and a hideous smile. I wanted to run, but I was rooted to the spot.

'If you accept my offer, you will have all the fame and success you desire. But in return, you must offer me your creativity. Every story you write from now on will be inspired by me,' it continued with its sickening smile.

I knew it was a deal with the devil, but my desire for fame was too strong. I accepted the offer and the Muse disappeared into thin air.

The next day, my story was published and it became an instant hit. I was inundated with invitations to talk shows and book signings. I was finally famous, but at what cost?

As I sat in my mansion, surrounded by luxury and fame, I couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness. The Muse had taken over my creativity, and I was merely a puppet in its hands. Every day was a struggle to come up with new stories, and I could feel myself losing my identity.

One night, I heard a knock on my door. It was Alexander, looking older and more haggard than I had ever seen him.

'What have you done, Amelia? You sold your soul to a monster and now you're like him,' he said, showing me a picture of my latest book cover, which featured the grotesque Muse.

I finally realized the true price of my fame - my soul. In that moment, I knew I had to break the deal. I ran back to the mansion, but it was gone, along with the Muse and my creativity.

I am now a recluse, haunted by the events of that night. I realize that fame is not worth sacrificing who you are. My stories may never be published again, but at least I have my soul. And that, is worth more than any fame or fortune.
