The people who booed Lewis Hamilton are not fans of motorsport, because if you booed Hamilton yesterday, you are booing an incredibly exciting competitive championship.

If the Silverstone incident hadn’t happened, Verstappen would have increased his lead again and it would have looked even less likely that Mercedes might be fast enough to make the rest of the season a competition. If the race today is a procession, Hamilton will take the lead, but it will still be so close!! How exhilarating!!!

Now, I do have a preference for who wins the driver championship, but I want it decided on the last lap of the last race of the season. I want to watch this nail biting championship change hands every race before Abu Dhabi. Because that’s why I love sport. I can’t understand why a fan of motorsport would boo the most exciting championship since the Senna vs Prost days
