icons
so i’ve noticed a few ppl following me on here still have default icons and i’m not gonna block you so dw, if you are reblogging stuff/interacting or have a description or whatever, i can see you are a real person!
however, i always see overly negative posts about this and never any actually offering any advice so i’ve decided to make a post collecting together ideas for icons, in case you guys just dont know where to start (i’ve been there)
so:
i think one of these bottle caps would make a cool icon
these pies from animal crossing are also pretty cool
this (@oldwindowsicons) a blog full of old windows icons which is pretty cool. They have old style pixel ones and also newer ones from vista ect. And they collect ones from other software and games, you might find one from your childhood!!!
if you are particularly attatched to your default icon, this person (@anonymous-leemur ) makes edits of them! so they are still the same little guys but different (and very cool imo)
there are loads of other blogs dedicated to collecting icons for ppls use so see if you can find any others!
other options:
there is an icon tag! where ppl post icons theyve made for people to use
is there an artist you really like on here? send them a message and ask if you can use a piece of their art as a header/icon (many artists are completely fine with this, tho in the case of art you should always ask)
if they do commissions you can even commission a custom icon from them!
are you an artist? share some of your art with us! draw yourself an icon
particularly like a certain character? take a screenshot from a show/published comic and use that
take a photo of something you like or find a stock image/ clipart on search and use that. your icon could be your favourite fruit, an animal, a tool you need for your job/hobby, a landscape, any other object (picture of an orange??? a fish? a paintbrush)
pretty much, the world is your oyster. there are loads of options, the general etiquette is just that if an image isnt in the public domain already (by being in a show/published comic/stock image) you check with the artist that they are cool with you using their art. if someone is posting stuff tagged as icons, they want you to use them and you dont need to ask! some artists will ask that you credit them, you can do this by making a post saying thanks to @[artist] for the icon/header

@pluviaart @cloud-savanna @ekumellow @ashanimus @cozylittleartblog @gathoscorner @reblog-trash-can @regular-gnome @nonbinarycollector
all of you. Almost every bot follower I get, which is varying between about seven and hour to twenty an hour, is also most if not all of you as well. I'm fairly all of us, save Reblog Trash Can since their blog doesn't have top posts on, post or have posted about the Owl House. I want to figure this out.
Have any of you interacted (sent an ask, liked, followed on accident) with a spam account sometime recently? This is the most bots I've gotten ever, even more than both times I've been reblogged by Haiku Bot, and it started when I sent an ask to a blog asking if they were real or not. Have you interacted with one recently, or do you think it might have to do with the Owl House tag, maybe?
We're all strugglebussing together with these bots. My strength and patience goes out to you.
Edit: Found one that's literally just following us and Staff

i love your blog and everything you post! you are basically living my dream life, and i sometimes despair of ever achieving anything close to it myself. part of me wonders how you accomplished this feat of owning a small farm in the mountains and taking care of these animals (though you obviously don’t have to explain!) bc i’m not sure i’ll ever be in a position to buy property at all, much less enough land to live on in this way. anyway. my real question, if you’re willing to answer (or haven’t already somewhere i didn’t see!), is—does your farm produce? like, are you growing crops or maybe intend to sell llama fibre? or is it more of a hobby farm? (which is not a pejorative term, just in case anyone is unfamiliar with it! just means a farm that isn’t run for profit, essentially)
Hi, I’m glad you like this blog <3 I don’t mind questions, though I prefer to answer more personal ones privately (off-anon.) But as for your last question—I initially intended to use this land to start a small business, but unfortunately I moved here in mid-2019 and so I was planning on using my first year to get settled, look for local artisans etc. and then start construction work in the spring of 2020. Which turned out to be as we all know the ideal moment in history to embark on such an adventure. It was hard to get anything started in 2021 too, we were still having national lockdowns until almost halfway through the year and I couldn’t plan anything in advance as I didn’t know what the rest of the year would look like. Then this year with the Ukraine war and the huge increase in the price of just about everything + shortages of various materials it’s been difficult to plan for things / get things done as well (and I’ve had to revise my entire budget.)
So yeah I had exciting plans for this place (I even did a presentation at my region's Chamber of Commerce back in 2018, and had their support) but they got completely derailed by Current Events for the past three years, it's a bit discouraging. But we've all been having a hard time since 2020 haven't we, and I’m really lucky that I get to live here at all (and that I got to spend the lockdowns in a rural place.) I’m also glad I got my animals in my first year here; at least I have company as I wait to see how things will unfold ! Plus taking care of animals makes it hard to look at the past year and feel like you’ve accomplished nothing, because they would disagree.

Amazon is awful, but I am forced to use it
Who sends someone an email to inform them they're getting a payout of less than a dollar this month? Amazon, apparently.
So, in the interest of not curling into a tight little ball and wondering why I tried to do all of this in the first place as I slowly sink into deep, dark, squelching dread...
Here is a link to short stories what you can purchase!
If that is indeed a thing you are into.
They are quite spooky, most are bloody, one has a horrible thing happen to a generally nice dude (that one is Don't Look, and if you're not comfortable reading about assault of the sexual variety then I insist you obey the title).
I apologize for my face, it has no excuse to exist, but it does and I was told to put it up...so it is there.

a while ago I made a post cataloging all the white supremacist dogwhistles I've seen around and the responses from the piss on the poor website have ranged from "always make sure to use your judgment!" which is something I said in the first paragraph of the post to "someone using these doesn't make them a Nazi!" which misunderstands the definition of the word dogwhistle. wonderful job team

will u still continue artfight? whats going on with af
hi! yes, i will still be continuing to participate in art fight. no, the event is not over.
just to start off: i joined art fight as a user in 2016, was hired as a chat & site mod on february 2018, and resigned in march 2022. my resignation was due to the fact that at the time, i could no longer keep up with mod responsibilities while juggling school, work, and extracurricular activities.
right now, there's been staff resignations across the server/site for multiple reasons. i'm erring on the side of caution at the moment and will let further announcements disclose exactly why. nobody, former or current, is calling for boycotts. and personally, i'm of the opinion that referring to what's happening right now as a "strike" is inaccurate. you can continue working on your attacks and participating in the current event. every one of us loves art fight and would like to see it continue and have also worked to make sure that users are able to enjoy it as well. i would advise against donating to the site until the dust settles.
there's a lot of misinformation and out-of-context messages going around right now. please take these with a grain of salt: i saw a couple docs and screenshots going around with outdated or straight up incorrect information (for some reason i saw mentions of a data breach going around? there is no data breach, i don't know where people are even getting that from. furthermore, there is no "ceo of artfight". art fight is not a corporation or a company, so this language, to me, does not properly describe what's happening rn)
i'm not sure what can be disclosed to the public aside from this ^ so please hang tight, be excellent to each other, so on & so forth. thank you <3

going to keep this vague on purpose but playing reload has reactivated brain chemicals in me that i forgot i had.
i think i'd want to make a more thought out post later, but i think my favorite thing about reload (aside from seeing minato in full HD glory) is how much it's made me think about video games as a storytelling medium- specifically with what mechanics and game design imply for characters.
there's a lot of quality of life features added to reload that help players easily enter a flow state and get immersed in the gameplay (most notable with tartarus)! which is so dope! reload has been such a nice blend of the mechanics from both FES and portable and it feels like a love letter to persona 3 fans.
there are definitely mechanics i miss from FES (minato's ability to wield multiple weapons being one of them). i can't deny that FES has some dated mechanics that don't necessarily feel fun for the player experience... but!
i think i mostly miss things from FES because i feel like so much of minato's characterization (for me) was informed by the gameplay experience and mechanics (e.g. fatigue system). obviously there's still other ways you can put together his personality (his dialogue responses), but i think game mechanics are a bit part of it, for me.
but in spite of that, i think reload is a really nice introduction to persona 3, it's so much more accessible and has a bunch of things to help make it more fun :) so far i think i'd recommend it to people :D
