Why do titles have to be a thing? A quick glance at my masterlist will prove that I do not enjoy doing it and mostly don't bother. I either leave them out entirely or it's like one word lol. I got lucky with Threads, the title for that hit me like a bolt of lightning and then I never looked back.

But I've been trying to come up with one for Arrie's story all day. I even spent an unfortunate amount of time sprawled across my bed, staring at the ceiling, just thinking like somehow it'd come to me in a flash of inspiration.

It did not.

In the meantime, I'm making good progress on the editing again so at least there's that. Trying to decide if I want to do profile posts for the new OCs before or after they're introduced in the story itself. Four newbies who have significant roles, one who is only mentioned by name, and one who makes an extremely brief appearance.

Also lately been thinking about Ciaran's story in general because it has three other OCs that I am also fond of... and one of them in particular has been on my mind lately.

BUT ANYWAY. The goal is to finish Arrie's story by the end of the month! I'm so determined to actually do it! But that means I also need a title 😭

are some of the people newer to tumblr aware of the joys of theme customization on desktop? I know some ppl are just on mobile so they can’t really change things but like SO many blogs nowadays have 0 theme customization and just use the default theme and I’m beginning to wonder if they even know about the option. It’s one of the main reasons why I still use tumblr

Yo! It's home! It's rly warm and humid, like Hoenn but a lot warmer. There's also a lot less urban spaces (the capital Pura is the biggest city here, and it's roughly the size and vibe of Slateport). Other places are more homey, think the kinds of cities where news gets around. The towns are even more close-knit; everyone is at least familiar with everyone. (some of the towns are a bit shady and. not very safe. But do you really want to hear about those) There's a lot of nature too! Not a lot of formal hiking routes, you're left to fend for yourself through the trees, but some people who Really Know Their Way Around tamp through the dirt so that it's packed. There, that's your hiking route. look out for venipede, and stare at that cool river delta in the distance. the food's good, you like rice cakes?

now i've watched a fair amount of d&d i've started to pick up on the differences between dm style i think

like brennan IS all the bad guys. every game he dms is brennan vs the players. he makes npcs and battles that make his friends throw things at him and he smirks the whole time. he makes them tell him their worst fears and then he makes them do it. and it's awful and amazing and really funny

matt IS exandria. his characters and battles never feel written or constructed, they just feel like things that already existed in the world. it's all about verisimilitude with him, and he's amazing at it. he tends to fade into the background and let the players react to the story and it makes everything he does incredibly cinematic

aabria dms like she's just another player at the table reacting to the story, right up until someone gets lulled into a false sense of security and tries to fool around and THEN she throws a curveball by making them deal with the consequences of their choices. she's like oh you think that's funny?? then i'm about to be hilarious, bitch. and she keeps getting away with it bc she's just that good!

basically, brennan's an evil bastard, matt's the world, and aabria's the queen of consequences

He doesn’t even let the books burn in 1941. He didn’t have a choice in 2019. Crowley might not run a bookshop, but he’ll keep it safe.
