Can I ask about your Venus de Milo headcanons???
Sure!
But jsyk, I have a ton of Venus-related hc's. Like, a truly ridiculous amount of hc's for a character I've only drawn a couple of times😅
Because of that, for now, I think I'm gonna just stick to general stuff. Any more in-depth hc's would require context and long explanations i don't have the energy to go into right now, unfortunately.
Okay, here we go!
Venus is a red-eared slider and hatched from the same egg as Leo
While Leo and Venus are twins, since Donnie's egg hatched the same day, approximately 6 1/2 minutes later, the three are considered triplets
Venus and Leo are fraturnal, so they don't look exactly the same. While Leo has cresent moon shaped stripes, Venus' stripes are curvier and more fish-hook shaped. Also, while they both used to have bright green eyes when they first hatched, Venus is the only one to still have green eyes since Leo's turned brown (like Lou Jitsu's) post-mutation
Venus is 5'4" (one inch shorter than Leo, one inch taller than Donnie)
Venus has innate mystic abilities like Mikey, except hers first developed when she was about five or six, much earlier than Mikey's did (I like to think Mikey's a bit of a late-bloomer)
Because of a mystic-related injury she suffered when she was much younger, Vee has prominant geometric scarring and chronic pain in both her arms. She uses long, specially made compression gloves to cover her scars and help with the pain
Vee was primarily raised by Big Mama and partially raised by Draxum. It was the opposite situation with Jennika, who was primarily raised by Draxum
Venus and Jennika were extremely close growing up, and still are today, tho because of numerous other headcanons that would require a lot of explaining that I'm just not up for atm, the two aren't as close as they used to be
Venus had an extremely lonely and sheltered childhood/adolescence due to having almost no friends her own age to engage with aside from Jennika (who she only got to see on weekends) and her best friend Hansel (who she didn't meet until she was ten)
Because of her sheltered upbringing, Vee has very poor social skills and struggles with things like picking up on social cues and generally interating with people
Despite the stony, silent facade she dons while wearing her mask/working for Big Mama, Venus is actually a very emotive, energetic chatterbox with a penchent for going on long, winding, stream of conciousness-esk rants and infodumps. Seriously, Vee could give Leo a run for his money with how much she loves to talk about anything and everything
Venus' relationship with Big Mama is... strained. And complicated. Very strained and very complicated
Venus, once you get past her Assistant persona, initially seems like a very sweet, bubbly, downright ditzy girl who both wouldn't and couldn't hurt a fly. This is an extremely false (not to mention dangerous) assumption to make about a young lady who was raised by Big Mama and Baron Draxum. This girl grew up watching yokai tear each other apart in the arena every day since she was an infant. Her mother is the Hidden City's most powerful and fearsome crime boss. Her father was a genocidal warrior alchemist who had zero qualms with performing highly dubious and illigal acts if it meant achieving his life's goal. Hell, Vee's big sister is the Hidden City's most notorious bounty hunter with a ludicrously high body count for someone her age (just some Jenny headcanons, don't worry about it). Venus herself is a skilled and intellegent mystic prodigy, is completely and utterly desensitized to death and violence, and can name off the top of her head all the best places in the Hidden City to hide a body. She is highly chaotic nuetral and you'd do best not to underestimate her.
And lastly, for now, Venus is Aro/Ace!

Tumblr media
Benjamin: So, what did you bring me out here for, Pico?
Pico: Well, I know you've been busy with your rehearsals for the upcoming concert, and I can't really blame ya. It's just... It's something important I need to get off my chest. For now, it's just between you and me.
Benjamin: I mean, why isn't Grace allowed to hear it? She'd definitely understand.
Pico: Heh, I know. But right now, I don't want to start any mass chaos erupting because of this news, especially not if her dad learns about it.
Benjamin: What do you mean?
Pico: Well, Ben... I'm from the OLD iteration of this universe.
Tumblr media
Benjamin: O-Old iteration? What do you mean?
Pico: It's... a long story. I'll explain it...
WARNING: From this point down, there are unmarked spoilers for Friday Night Funkin': Mario's Madness, ESPECIALLY for its endgame. If you haven't seen or played the mod, please stop reading now to avoid spoilers.
Pico: Remember the whole ordeal the three of us had with that creepy Mario and Xenophanes?
Benjamin: Yeah?
Pico: Well, that was actually meant to be our last conflict, but we managed to escape it alive.
Benjamin: Heh, yeah. We do make a good team.
Pico: However... That haunted cartridge was right at the end of it all for... the ORIGINAL you.
Tumblr media
Pico: As "Boyfriend", you were even more brave, albeit with the urge to tackle practically any challenge laid before you if it meant keeping "Girlfriend" safe. All of what happened here was handled differently in the original universe. He fought those trying to kill him, those who just wanted some fun, and even some who... didn't exactly want to be a part of his business.
Tumblr media
Pico: And no matter who it was, even if it was Xenophanes throwing tantrums over actually losing, Boyfriend always persevered in the end. That's what I admired about him; he was not outright a fearless fool. What I learned from the Corruption I experienced was that he always looked to the positives, knowing that there's always a brighter day ahead. At least, until THAT day happened.
Tumblr media
Pico: Like what happened here, I was drawn into the cartridge business when neither BF or GF returned any calls. It must've felt like days when I came to check on them, only to find the TV blaring red static. Before I could even react, I was dragged into that world, where I had to fend off that "Mr. L" entity posing as Luigi... or apparently, a vengeful spirit of him. Even to this day, I don't know what its motives were, but it clearly wanted me dead for the evulz. I managed to escape safely and got on the hunt to find BF and GF safely. However...
Tumblr media
Pico: They were dead when I finally found them... And I was all alone in that digital hellscape with no way back out. I've never forgiven myself for being too late to come to their aid, though I survived as long as I could, busting into the Minus World to try and evade that killer plumber. While there, I came across this entity that resembled... King Koopa? I didn't have long to process this, as everything vanished before my eyes as "Ultra M" approached.
Benjamin: Then what happened?
Pico: I was pretty much reborn into a new universe. THIS one. One key change was the links to the SEGAVerse; you being the younger brother of Hatsune Miku. And you had a bigger family than the "canon" iteration, who simply had a rap-rat as an adoptive brother. Events definitely played out normally, but with numerous changes:
You and Grace dropped out of high-school at 17.
I halted the whole school dangers quickly by dealing with Cassandra promptly, therefore saving even more lives than I once did.
You managed to get Daniel Dearest on your good side after he admitted to his crimes and felt guilty for it.
You've been arguably kinder than the original Boyfriend.
Updike stood down and shut down the Greater Good, thanks to the efforts of you and Whitty, along with Grace, Carol and Sunday, of course.
Benjamin: I had definitely been through a lot.
Pico: Mhm. And when we crossed into Alan Becker's computer, that's when we became teens again, and that's when the things I predicted came to an end. We met Chris and all the others, you got a new boyfriend in Luis, and, well... the rest is history!
Benjamin: Mhm. So, like OMT Tails, I'd be classed as some "anomaly" by those guys because of your actions?
Pico: It shouldn't come to that, hopefully. I'm just really concerned about how you're feeling after what happened to you back in MP-2021, Benji. I really don't want it to take a toll on your life. Same with what I just told you.
Benjamin: Hey, don't worry! I've got an optimistic future ahead! We got the whole Christmas Festival getting set up next week, and Softie's gonna be showing up. Heh, I can't wait to meet him in person. I really want to have him as a little brother and show him the care he deserves!
Tumblr media
Pico: Heh, man. I really admire you for staying positive, even after all the hell you've been through.
Benjamin: I mean, I'll always have you guys. And as long as you're all okay, I'll always find motivation to keep on moving!
Pico: Thanks, Ben. I really appreciate that.
Benjamin: Alright. Why don't we go catch up with the others? They must be getting worried.
Pico: Of course!
Benjamin: Man. I wonder if Evan and Holly will be able to show up there.
Pico: Heh. I'm sure they can make the time if Evan's parents are alright with it.
Meanwhile, at Dimension URB-2023...
Tumblr media
Bently: I'm happy things are okay in the original dimension. You keep being you, Benjamin. Well, who I once was, heh.
Tumblr media
Isabella: You feeling okay, Bently?
Bently: Heh, yeah. If anything, I feel at peace, knowing everything's alright in a version of the universe I came from.
Tumblr media
Isabella: Glad to hear it!
Bently: Well, let's get moving to school! We don't wanna keep Mrs. Aoibhe waiting for too much longer.
Isabella: You got it!

A strange concept I had was Stranger Things x Sally Face. I know they're different times and all, but I became hyperfixated on how all the gang would interact with the party.
Sal is the best to go to for making schemes and plans because he's been dealing with the strange and paranormal for longer than everyone else. Maybe not the best strategist, but he's a realist at heart and doesn't try to get the kids way in over their heads
Todd can create things to help the party in their investigations and also for when they go to the Upside Down. He managed to turn Sal's Gearboy into a ghost hunting device, he'd be able to turn just about anything into a tool to deal with just about anything the Upside Down throws at them.. with trial and error of course
Larry would be the best friend to most of the party members, but he's also the most protective. He's the alternate to Steve (since Eddie isn't around ue ue ue) and acts sort of like the cool uncle everyone likes who commits minor (and sometimes major) crimes and screams "FUCK THE COPS" every time he sees one... unless it's Hopper. Everyone loves Hopper
Ashley would definitely teach everyone how to fight properly and you can't prove me otherwise. She knows how to fight and isn't afraid to step up and help the party out in the ways that matter. She cares about their safety and takes a sort of older sister role for a few of the kids, taking their feelings into account
Dude. It's gotten so bad that I've drawn artwork for this shit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obviously things would be moved around, such as Addison Apartments and the like. Addison Apartments and the Devourers of God cult still very much exist and instead they're both on the outskirts of Hawkins, as well as the church. That's why mostly goes unnoticed because they're so disconnected from the small town that nobody really pays attention to the strange church or weird, creepy apartments. They just kind of brush them off.
Sal and the gang are the same age as Steve (so a year older than Nancy and Jonathan) and most of their storyline is still roughly the same - Red-Eyes, the funky ass bologna, the cult, etc. It's just also intertwined with the events of Stranger Things. Sal and Larry are close friends with Eddie before 1986 since all three of them share very similar musical tastes and interests in general, so he's extremely prevalent in their story in this AU.
Nancy is also the only one of the party who witnesses Red-Eyes because she visits the apartments for a project she and Sal are doing and it tries to attack her. That of course brings Nancy and Sal closer and makes Sal a rival to Steve for a bit because Sal very obviously has a crush on Nancy (can you blame him?) but once Sal and Steve have to work together with the party, they actually talk things out and it's (mostly) okay.
By the events of season 4, Sal and the gang are attending college in Columbus, Ohio after the cult disappears mysteriously with the Mind Flayer during the destruction of Starcourt Mall, all in hopesto have a normal life. Only to be called back when the cult suddenly reappears and Chrissy dies by some unknown force.
Anyways, that's a lot of info dumping on a wild ass au that probably nobody but me cares about because I overthink everything and make up weird ausall the time, especially with Sally Face. So that's that. And here's the pictures I used for reference of the artwork. Rest assured. I will be posting more about this whack au with even more art.

please don't tell me that this au doesn't work because i am well aware of that. just let me have my delusions

Thoughts on Jedi Apprentice: The Only Witness
Okay, this is another book I hardly remember at all. After the previous three books, my interest in the series was seriously waning, so I've probably only read this book a couple times. Literally the only thing I remember about it is "Obi-Wan romance"??? I don't remember how all that works out, but if that's actually true, I can completely understand why this book was a hard pass from younger me. But let's see how it shakes out!
Jedi Apprentice #17: The Only Witness
Chapter 1
A few months have passed since the last book, and Qui-Gon is still deeply grieving Tahl's death. He knows he needs to accept the grief and move past it, but isn't even sure he wants to do that. But when the Jedi Council asks him if he's ready to take on missions again, he agrees.
Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are sent to Frego, to protect Lena Cobral, an important witness to the Senate against the dangerous Cobral family, who run a crime ring that controls the government of Frego. Lena's husband Rutin was recently killed, and she wants to give the Senate vital information against the Cobral family to bring them down. Rutin was the one originally going to testify against his family, so that may be why he was killed.
My heart goes out to Obi-Wan, who wants to help Qui-Gon the same way he's helped Obi-Wan many times as he's dealt with grief and uncertainty, but Qui-Gon is rebuffing every attempt. It seems like he just wants to suffer alone all the time.
Chapter 3
When the Jedi reach Frego, a woman named Mica (Lena's cousin) leads them through the city to where Lena is hiding. She tells them about how Rutin wanted to get out of the crime ring, and at first planned to take it down from the inside once he became the leader of the family. But then his brother Solan found out about his plans and kicked him out, and so Rutin decided to take down the crime ring from the outside instead, and bring evidence to the Senate. But he was killed before he could do so, and now Lena wants to do what he could not. Unfortunately, she has no hard evidence against the Cobrals that she can bring to the Senate.
Qui-Gon is annoyed that Lena lied to the Jedi, since she doesn't actually have anything against them. At first, he wants to just go back to Coruscant, saying that Lena can't be trusted and thus they shouldn't provide her an escort to Coruscant. But Obi-Wan urges him to help her, because she's obviously in danger, and he senses that she's sincere in her desire to carry out Rutin's wishes, even if she did lie to them at first.
And that brings up another point...Obi-Wan is kind of smitten by Lena ^^' She's beautiful - I honestly kind of imagine her to look kind of like Padme - and he's immediately drawn to her earnest, honest demeanor and obvious need for support as she grieves the loss of her husband, whom she seemed to truly love. It makes sense that Obi-Wan would be attracted to someone like her, and he is 17 in this book. I've just never liked shipping him with anyone, so I don't like this plotline very much.
Chapter 4
The first step they take to find concrete evidence against the Cobrals is to go to the apartment Lena and Rutin shared, where Rutin kept the incriminating evidence. Unfortunately, someone has been there before them, ransacking the apartment and deleting all the information on Rutin's hidden computer. In its place, the only thing left on the computer is a message saying, "You cannot stop us. You can only die trying."
Lena doesn't know who could have deleted the information, since the computer wasn't connected to any network. But in order to get the information she needs, she decides to go and ask for help from her mother-in-law, Zanita.
Chapter 6
They go to the Cobral estate and sneak in, avoiding the gathering of the whole family to celebrate Rutin and Solan's brother Bard's birthday. Lena waits until Zanita leaves the main party, then goes and speaks to her alone while the Jedi listen in. Lena begs for Zanita's help, telling her that she suspects Solan of arranging Rutin's death. Rutin was Zanita's favorite son, and she clearly gets along well with Lena, so she eventually agrees to help get some incriminating documents to her, as long as her name will be left out of the investigation.
Lena and the Jedi sneak out and almost make it out without detection, but then right before they reach their speeder, a huge statue falls on top of it. If Obi-Wan hadn't gotten a warning in the Force just in time, they would all have been crushed along with the speeder. Zanita and a servant from the kitchens, Juno, rush out to see what happened. Juno is acting rather suspicious and hostile towards them, but Lena and Zanita manage to pass off the Jedi as friends, and then they take one of Zanita's speeders and leave before anyone else sees that they were there.
Chapter 9
Lena takes them by a circuitous route back to her hidden living quarters, in case they were being followed. When they get there, Mica shows them a package that arrived, addressed to Lena. She says it's in Rutin's handwriting. Once Qui-Gon makes sure the package isn't booby-trapped, they open it and find nothing inside but some boots and a vial of dirt.
Mica steps into the next room to prepare some food, and Obi-Wan follows her. While they're alone, Qui-Gon asks Lena about how the package could have gotten here, since no one is supposed to know she's staying here. He asks about Mica's loyalty, but Lena is confident Mica would never betray her. They are cousins, but grew up like sisters, and Mica has no love for the Cobral family, since they killed her mother right in front of her. Nevertheless, Qui-Gon is suspicious that Mica may have revealed Lena's whereabouts.
Meanwhile, Obi-Wan follows Mica and discovers that she's trying to escape. He catches up to her before she can leave the building, and demands to know what's going on. Mica reveals that she was the one who erased Rutin's files. She doesn't think Lena will be able to bring the Cobrals down, so out of fear for her own life as well as Lena's, she's trying to stop her from testifying against them. But when she got to the apartment, she saw a couple thugs ransacking the place, as if looking for something. They ran off as soon as they heard her coming. But, to Obi-Wan's surprise, Mica reveals that she wasn't the one who left the threatening message on Rutin's computer. Who could have done so?
Chapter 12
Qui-Gon goes to see where Obi-Wan's got to, and Obi-Wan tells him about Mica's treachery (and remorse). I was surprised when Qui-Gon actually confronts Obi-Wan pretty bluntly about his obvious attraction to Lena, and how his infatuation may conflict with the mission and make it impossible for him to see any potential flaws or deceptions on Lena's part.
When they return to the main room, they discover that Lena has disappeared. Mica has an idea of where Lena might have gone, and takes them to the Tubal Park, a sort of greenhouse open to the public, filled with plants and fountains, one of Lena's favorite places to go when she needed to think. They split up to look for Lena, Qui-Gon staying with Mica while Obi-Wan goes on his own.
Obi-Wan doesn't want to admit that Qui-Gon was right about him, especially because it feels rather hypocritical for Qui-Gon to chide him for letting his feelings get in the way of the mission, when he's still reeling from the loss of Tahl, and up to this point almost seemed like he wasn't even invested in the mission. But the more he thinks about it during his search, the more Obi-Wan has to admit that Qui-Gon is right. He's falling for Lena, but he doesn't think that's why he's convinced she's trustworthy. Qui-Gon is suspicious of her, but Obi-Wan believes she is honest about wanting to expose the Cobrals.
They don't find Lena, but when they return to the hideout, she's there waiting for them. When they ask where she's been, she responds vaguely, saying she needed to think and figure out what Rutin was trying to tell her when he sent the clues to her. He's the only other one who knew about the hideout, so he must have sent the package there just in case he died and Lena would have to carry on without him.
Chapter 14
It turns out that, while Lena was out, she went by her old apartment, and found a datapad left there by Zanita. It has a message on it for Lena, giving her a time and location to meet up. Qui-Gon doesn't think it's wise, because it could be a trap. But they don't really have any other leads to go on, so they have no choice. Lena wants to tell Zanita that she's decided to give up on giving the Senate evidence against the Cobrals, and just run away instead. Her hope is that Zanita will stop putting herself in danger that way.
Unfortunately, when they reach the location, Zanita shows up - being held as a hostage by her son Solan. Mica also turns up, trying to cover for Lena by saying that Lena was covering for her, and she is the one with the dirt on the Cobrals. Solan decides to just kill them both to cover all his bases, and sends some droids out to do the job. The Jedi burst out of their hiding place and fight the droids. In the scuffle, Solan shoots his blaster, and Obi-Wan is too slow to deflect the bolt. It hits Mica and kills her, and Solan escapes with Zanita.
Chapter 15
Weeping, Lena covers Mica's body, and they leave. Suddenly realizing what Rutin's clues mean, Lena takes them back to Tubal Park, and goes to a specific place that was special to them. They look around, and eventually find a panel in the floor hidden by moss. They break it open, finding a small chamber with water pumps, presumably for watering the plants in the park. Lena looks around in the small space and manages to find a small watertight tube.
I really liked this part that kind of brings everything full-circle: "Qui-Gon nodded. 'I, too, have wished I could have given my life to save another, one whom I had loved. But now I know that it is often harder to be the one left behind. I would not have wanted her to feel such loneliness, to go through the pain I have gone through.' ... Qui-Gon looked into Lena's eyes, and knew that his words were getting through to her. Surprisingly, he felt a lightening in his own chest as well. His grief for Tahl was still excruciating, but he suddenly knew that there would come a time when it would be possible to bear. And in his heart he was certain that Tahl would want him to carry on, too. She would have hated the way he had chosen to mourn her, he realized suddenly. He had allowed his grief to remove him from everyone who had tried to help him. Because the weight of his sorrow was so terrible, he could not lift his head to see that others mourned her, too. Obi-Wan. Yoda. Bant. Clee Rhava. The list was long."
Chapter 17
They go back to the hideout to check the contents of what they found. Sure enough, there's a datapad full of evidence against the Cobrals, exactly what they need to bring them down. They contact Frego's senator and make plans to go to Coruscant the next day to bring the evidence to him to present before the Senate. In the meantime, they try to get some rest.
Obi-Wan struggles with feelings of jealousy and guilt about why Qui-Gon confided in Lena about his grief, but not Obi-Wan. He worries that he doesn't know how to help Qui-Gon :'(
But partway through the night, Obi-Wan hears a scuffle in Lena's room, and rushes to investigate. There's an intruder who has tied and gagged Lena and is about to steal the datapad and leave. The Jedi knock him out, untie Lena, and retrieve the datapad.
The next day, they board the ship provided for them by Senator Crote, but Qui-Gon makes them sneak off and go in a different ship instead. When they're safely on their way, he explains that he saw the senator's seal on the man who tried to steal the datapad. He wasn't working for Solan, he was working for the senator. The corruption extends even to Senator Crote. As a final clincher, midway through their journey, they receive a call from Yoda, telling them that the ship they were supposed to be on has just blown up.
Chapter 19
Mace Windu meets them when they return safely to Coruscant. The Jedi escort Lena to the Frego consulate, where Lena freshens up in preparation for her speech to the Senate (Obi-Wan thinks she's more beautiful than ever, awwww!). Then (in a scene that reminds me so much of Queen Amidala in Episode I) she goes before the Senate and tells them everything, including how Senator Crote tried to have her silenced. He objects, but the evidence is all too clear. There is a vote, and then Senator Crote is removed from office, the Cobrals are to be arrested, and a new government will be put in place.
After a small party to celebrate, Lena decides to turn in for the night before returning to Frego. Obi-Wan lingers behind, reluctant to say goodbye since they'll probably never see each other again, and he happens to hear the sounds of a struggle (this poor girl has been kidnapped and snuck upon in her private rooms so often, she's bound to have trauma after this @_@). Listening through the door, Obi-Wan realizes that this time it's Zanita. It turns out she's actually the true power behind the Cobrals (and thus Frego itself), and she was furious when she discovered that her own son was working to bring them down. She was the one who ordered Rutin's death. Now she tries to kill Lena as well, but Obi-Wan bursts in just in time to stop her. He does so successfully, but unfortunately he isn't able to stop Zanita from killing herself with a vibroblade. It's all very Shakespearean.
Chapter 20
In the final chapter, Obi-Wan is going to say goodbye to Lena, and stops by Qui-Gon's room to see if he wants to come along. As they're walking, Qui-Gon reflects on how, even though Obi-Wan is still a boy, he's grown up so much and will soon be a Knight himself. They talk a bit about Lena, but I was surprised that they don't really address Obi-Wan's attraction to her at all. Obviously, he wasn't going to let it go anywhere; we know he's not going to leave the Jedi again or anything, and Lena never really seems to reciprocate his feelings. But it just feels like a loose thread they never quite tied up :/
Okay, the way the book ends is by far the best part of all: "Suddenly Qui-Gon stopped and turned to face his Padawan. 'I am the one who was lost, Padawan. You were generous and patient with me. And I needed that patience. I still carry the wound I suffered when I lost Tahl. I will for the rest of my life.' Obi-Wan nodded solemnly. 'I know,' he said softly. Qui-Gon placed a hand on Obi-Wan's shoulder. 'I am grateful for your efforts to help me through my pain. For a long time I was not ready to hear your words, but you were still right to speak them. Thanks to you I have found myself again--I have found a way to go on. Your words...you are a comfort to me. Thank you.' Obi-Wan let out a deep breath and smiled. 'You're welcome,' he said."

I haven't played TGAA, but I find the double standard in the way Barok is treated vs the way Miles, Fran and the rest of them are treated kind of strange. Barok is supposedly insufferable, plus he's racist and xenophobic. I ain't excusing that, but that's just how 19th century England was.
Miles and Fran have most likely sent innocent people to jail or even landed them the death penalty, simply because they cared more about securing a guilty verdict than actual justice. Godot is a literal murderer, and I've heard some unpleasant things about Simon and Nahyuta as well.
Yet, all (or most of) these characters are redeemed. Barok's biggest crime is...upholding the views of everyone else at the time. And that somehow makes him irredeemable, despite him actually warming up to Ryonosuke later. I'm not saying everyone should like Barok, but if Barok is irredeemable, so is every other prosecutor in AA.
This has been pretty much my point ever since they announced GAA's localization.
Barok is obnoxious, that is undeniable. Nipponese this, Eastern island that, his mocking of Ryuu easily crosses a line that leaves the player uncomfortable, as it should, because if his xenophobia doesn't bother you it says more about you than about the game.
But. Being obnoxious is all he does.
He does not present forged evidence, or use loopholes in court, or coach witnesses, like Edgeworth and Franziska used to do.
He's never ever physically violent against the defense, unlike Franziska, Godot, Simon or Nahyuta - he breaks his own glasses and bottles when frustrated, but he never harms anyone. (it says something that the entire series so far had only three prosecutors who are decent human beings)
His objective as a prosecutor is simply to find the truth. While he pushes very hard to prove the guilt of the defendant, it's clear that it's because he genuinely believes in his case - once Ryuu manages to convince him his theory makes sense, Barok drops most of his hostility and helps him. Unlike Edgeworth pre-heel face turn and Franziska, he couldn't care less about his own record, which means that he never deliberately gambled with the lives of potentially innocent people for his own ego. He is biased towards Ryuu, not only because he's Japanese but also because Barok admits to personally taking his cases even if they're banal, but he's not completely driven by a petty grudge like Godot - like I said, he'll help Ryuu win if he does a good enough job in his book, no matter his personal feelings towards his learned Japanese friend.
Both he and Edgeworth post-heel face turn share the same goal of finding the truth. However, Edgeworth has hurt at least one person in his quest, infamously Adrian Andrews when he threatened to reveal her mental illness in court and even said "if you kill yourself, that is no concern of mine". Compare this with Barok, who has shown himself capable of kindness as soon as his second appearance, when he (spoilers for Case 4 of GAA) subtly implied he would allow Roly Beate to keep his job despite tampering with the crime scene, because he could empathize with the poor man wanting to spend one day with his wife.
He's genuinely competent in his job, relying simply on cold hard logic to dismantle the defense's arguments as a good prosecutor should - to be honest, it may be the different writers, but Klavier, Simon and Nahyuta never struck me as being especially good at their job, with Klavier having to deal with a rather incompetent Apollo in AJ and Simon and Nayhuta happily abusing the old "attacking the defense" and "asking evidence for every word you say" tricks. (to be fair Simon gets to demonstrate his interesting manipulative skills in one case... Turnabout Storyteller, when he's Athena's ally. Also, I can't remember anything particularly horrible he does beyond being an ass like usual, in fact he may be the best prosecutor of the second trilogy)
Speaking of Nahyuta, the reasons I can't stand him while I love Barok are that Nahyuta is nothing but repetitive, unwitty, painfully realistic obnoxiousness propped up by a shallow twist revealed at the tail-end of the game; he has no real character development, because "sowwy guys i was good all along" is not development; he prosecutes simply to win even if it means insisting that a young girl committed murder in spite of the defense's reasonable arguments; there is no in-game justification for shit like him tormenting Athena in Japanifornia, or even him being an asshole in Japanifornia at all; and there's no weight in the realization that he let hundreds of innocent people being sentenced to death while he stood aside to protect his sister (like, that has got to mess you up a bit right? Can you show me that, game?). Barok not only has a much more fleshed out, drawn out backstory that explains most of his behavior (although I have my reservations at tying his racism to One Trauma); not only he slowly (... very slowly) warms up to Ryuu; not only he has humanizing traits like feeling horrible about being branded the Reaper of the Old Bailey, like it would happen to anyone being rumored to be a death bringer; but he is, most important of all, an overdramatic bitch and the contrast between his intimidating demeanor and the shit he pulls behind the bench is infinitely more hilarious than being told for the umpteenth time that you're a putrid lawyer who's going to hell. It doesn't sound like much, but a good AA game masters the art of "love to hate".
You know how Klavier is a base-breaking prosecutor because some consider him too nice? Barok is what happens when you take Klavier's honest, well-meaning demeanor and give him enough presence to be hated and loved at the same time. I completely understand if people find him too annoying (he's testing my own patience lmao), but I still think he is one of the best prosecutors in the series, both as a job and as the role of the rival.

I must say I don't know much about Andal, but I've become interested thanks to you ;~; Do you have any specific lore recs to read about him?
Hmmm, I think his section on Ishtar Collective covers almost everything and there's not that much lore about him anyway. But since I've noticed it misses a couple of things, I thought I'll make my own list too.
SO, here's every valuable mention of Andal I can remember (in some sort of an order, but not really):
The Man They Call Cayde - the greatest piece of candal fanfiction by Cayde himself, bless. If you can read only one thing from this list, READ THIS. Almost half of this book is about Andal, honestly, and the way Cayde writes about him is so... ugh. Just read it, if you haven't already 🥺
Micah's letter to Tallulah, warning her about Andal. I wonder what he did to give her such a strong impression of a troublemaker that she advised Hunter Vanguard herself to go and pick him up 😂
Andal telling a fascinating story about how he barfed into the ocean met Tallulah. I find it absolutely endearing how literally everyone tell us what a cool & competent Hunter he was when speaking about him, and then we have this gem written by the man himself, where he embarrasses himself by dying from Tallulah's friendly slap
Tallu remembers talking to him by the fire - very touching one and that line about his cloak.........
Actually the whole Vanguard Dare set has quotes about him: casque, grips (this quote lives in my head rent free… "He was ours first", omg…), vest and boots. Not that much about Andal in the last one, but it mentions him and I think Suzume's personality really shows here, lol. Oh by the way, WHY DIDN'T YOU BOTHER TO GIVE HER A NAME BACK THEN BUNGIE HUH??? Also I think it's a crime this set is now a cosmetic ornament only, so there's no way to see those quotes in the game anymore (unless you have an old set stored in your vault)
Fall of Osiris comic, featuring Andal's famous "I trust him with my life" line about Cayde (in hindsight he probably shouldn't have tbh)
Consensus meeting about firing Osiris - Andal's casual comment about "two birds, one man" and nobody even batting an eye on that makes me think he didn't give grandpas a minute's rest with all sorts of bird jokes, no wonder they both abandoned their Vanguard positions adfgjskjd
Teben being not happy about "Brask's Exo replacement". This one is actually kinda interesting, since it implies Andal leaned more on Drifter & Co side about Darkness, thinking of it more as of a tool that can be used for good, while Cayde was dead against it and cut off all ties with dredgens undoubtedly once he became the Vanguard
Eris' letter to Mara covering the whole Taniks' Nightmare situation
She also speaks about it in the respective Nightmare Hunt
"I knew Andal Brask. Did I ever tell you? The Vanguard's Hunter before Cayde. He taught me much, but my time in the darkness of the Hellmouth taught me so much more." - Eris again, you can get this one randomly by sticking around her on the Moon
"Did you ever meet Andal? He taught me a lot about being a Hunter. He kept telling people that Cayde was Rasputin though." - Ana speaking about him (random line you could get by hanging out around her on Mars)
Warmind comic - he barely shows up there a shame since I like how this one is drawn, but check out his flawless fashion sense (wait, is that BARE ARMS, whoa, hold on sir, that's way too revealing, have some shame!!)
Cayde speaking about him and the famous "you're Rasputin" joke (this is also the origin of this quote from D2's reclaiming the Light quest)
Cayde mentions him again in his message for Taniks
Presumably the last note Andal sent to Cayde and it's fucking heartbreaking knowing what happened next. And to think Cayde kept this little note all these years, g o d...
Aaand I think that's it?.. Feel free to add anything I may have missed!
EDIT: Added one more quote from Eris

PARTY FAVOURS I CHAPTER 34
💖 first time reader click here 💖
Tumblr media
A little bit of plot, but mostly ironstrange x reader filthy porn. Bukkake stuff. Stephen finally opening up a lil bit, I mean... I've slept through a 1/3 of a hospital and lemme tell you, doctors are kinky bastards. On the same note, there's definitely going to be a chapter where all three men are involved after the plot shit is resolved.
Tumblr media
There was something big brewing. I had a hunch... which was more like a strong sense of doom... hanging over me and the rest of the world. Peter also had noticed the sudden spike in anxiety, quoting the sudden disappearance of many low-tier mutants from the streets. Usually, Peter dealt with at least a few enhanced enemies during his patrols but the closer it got to Christmas, the less enhanced bothered with small-time crimes, the more intense the buzzing of his Spidey sense became.
Now that my immediate lack of income wasn't a problem anymore, I set business onto that damn mercenary. I was no spy, I was no SHIELD operative but... I could be very clever.
First things first, I had to make sure I would stay alive no matter what. A subdermal tracker was a good guarantee of security and I spent many hours making one - having to keep it a secret was incredibly hard, I hated lying to my loves and I hated avoiding Wanda even more - I was constantly on the edge around the telepath, hyperfocused on keeping up the pretense of normalcy.
I wouldn't be me if I couldn't successfully pull off a whole ass façade. Unfortunately, the continued failures of the people searching left and right for the mercenary only fueled my strength for the inevitable fuck-fest that I would have to create in order to make sure my people get the peace they fucking deserve. The web of lies grew in size every damn day.
Subdermal tracker, an implant that reports directly to Friday upon activation. It hurt like a bitch - I had cut myself open, an inch wide gash on the inside of my forearm - and put it in without any anesthesia in my own bathroom, not even thinking twice before making up a lie that I had been careless in the lab and hurt myself.
An antidote to common tranquilizers, creating it gave me a headache the size of Moscow but I'd been successful; Tony assembled the whole team when he found it out, offering me a ridiculous amount of money for the formula. It was weird. SHIELD was interested, too, and I had to witness Tony and Coulson argue. Apparently, the agency wanted to recruit me and Tony was adamantly against it, totally forgetting the promise Natasha had given me. In the end, the spy and Coulson shared a quiet conversation and the man left, respectfully complimenting my skills.
I sold the formula to Stark Industries, unable to get rid of the weirdness of the situation. I had to shake hands with my own boyfriend and his ex-girlfriend... In a business setting. What. Just what. Bucky and Stephen couldn't stop laughing at the face I made all throughout that day - and Clint even went as far as to bake me a gag cake, a cartooney handshake drawn in frosting on top of it. I hit him with a spatula, Loki smiled in his direction for the first time in, like, ever. It was a trip and Tony had way too much fun with the incident.
Perhaps, turning myself into a cyborg stew wasn't the best plan that was possible to think up in a few weeks' time but I've never claimed to be exceptionally intelligent; if anything, I've always considered myself to be a moderately educated idiot. It is common knowledge that there are two halves of a whole idiot: my second half was on his way from California, having had received my very detailed e-mail about the whole cursed box fiasco and the consequences that followed. I could barely contain my excitement at the prospect of seeing uncle Eddie and his symbiote again.
Tony wasn't even half as excited; if anything, he bordered on outright hostile, bickering, and sassing everybody left and right. It could have been the situation at hand finally getting on his last nerves. It could have been his jealousy, the same that appeared every time I paid extra attention to someone that wasn't him, Bruce or Stephen. Either way, Bruce was sighing all the time now and Stephen's remarks began to fill with poison once again.
Just like the good old times, I guess. I was forced to pull a Me over and over, interrupting their petty arguments with increasingly absurd remarks. I felt like everybody was laughing at me these days, which ended in only one way it could have...
"Brat," Stephen's patience was paper-thin and, being forcefully distracted from yelling at Tony, he directed his angst at the nearest person - me. "I oughta put you over my knee. I swear to Cosmos..."
"Blah, blah, blah. Don't you ever get tired of listening to yourself talk?" I raised my eyebrows, tone deceptively calm. "You're talking too much for someone who can't even..." I didn't get to finish my sentence, suddenly finding my mouth firmly glued shut. It was magic - the sensation was pulling, but not unpleasant. Reminded me of a ball gag Tony had used on me in the early days of our relationship.
"Now, Dumbledore, hold your horses..." Tony interjected looking none-too-happy. The engineer placed a warning arm on the sorcerer's bicep, their little spat seemingly forgotten.
"What, Tony? She's been nothing but a mouthy urchin the past few days, I can't stand it anymore," They shared a meaningful look; no matter how much Tony wanted to argue, he knew Stephen was right. What he didn't know was that there probably have been a magic versus science altercation... Or worse. Humiliation was a small price to pay for some (relative) peace.
I did what I do best. I annoyed them further, throwing up a juicy middle finger to the two men and turned around with a huff, mind set on finding Loki to undo the mute ban Stephen gave me. Needless to say, I didn't make it very far.
In mere seconds, I was sandwiched between the two men, Stephen's finger delicately holding my chin to force me to look into his eyes. Tony was holding onto my shoulders from behind me - I could feel the tension, my engineer was almost buzzing with it. I was pretty sure my eyes were laughing anyway because Stephen's frown slowly transformed into a coy smirk once his stormy blues focused on my face.
"Brat," He repeated once again. "She's doing this on purpose."
"I can't say I'm surprised," Tony's breath tickled the nape of my neck. "That does sound like our little Princess," Apparently, it took all of a 0.1 second for Tony to switch from annoyed to horny. Men, they were so easy to play. "Baby, if you wanted our attention you could have just said so," He chastised me, hands sliding down to my waist.
I hummed, and then aggressively hummed some more until Stephen removed the magical gag. "Not like you'd notice it, being occupied with tearing each other's hair out," I pouted.
The sorcerer briefly averted his eyes, leaning down to softly kiss my pout. It was very unlikely I'd get an actual apology but a kiss I won't be complaining about either. "So, your best tactic was to annoy us even more? How does that work out for you?"
I pulled on the tied fabric around his waist, bringing him closer to me. "Pretty good, if I'm being honest. You're exactly where I wanted you to be," Carelessly, I began untying the layers of silks and cotton I had become intimately familiar with over the course of the past few weeks. Most of the time Steph wore his wizard garbs and while figuring out how to undo them was a trip at first, I had gotten him desperate enough a few times, for him to show me a few tips and tricks for easier access.
Tony snorted somewhere behind me. "You just want us for our bodies," His hands wormed their way under my shirt, brushing the underside of my breasts. Bra? Hardly know her. "Our beautiful, sexy bodies." Yes Tony, very humble.
"When will you learn, people?" I asked rhetorically, simultaneously leaning into both Tony's and Stephen's touch. "Why fight each other when you could be fucking me into oblivion instead?"
Stephen snorted, still not completely used to the at times crude things that left my (and occasionally Tony's) mouth. I had a hunch the sorcerer was holding back somewhat - for whatever reason - and I was eagerly waiting for him to get comfortable enough to reveal that special part of himself. Whatever it was, I just knew it was delicious and sinful and-
"Do you really think I will be giving you what you want after your little... Stunt?" Steph went balls out; his voice dropped and the intensity of his stare left me breathless. The hand that was stroking my face wrapped around my throat as he had some sort of a silent conversation with Tony.
"Yeah," I emphasized the word with an inaudible 'duh' behind it but obediently trotted along as Stephen backed up towards the couch, leading me by the throat like a pet on a leash. I was steadily going into 'no thoughts, head empty' territory.
"I like it when you get all bossy," Tony remarked casually but he was close enough for me to hear the strain in his voice. Every time we fucked, Tony eagerly gave up the control to Stephen. I definitely saw the appeal. Stephen Strange demanded authority effortlessly, his stern but fair attitude simply demanded to kneel.
That's just what I did. As soon as Stephen made himself comfortable on the Italian leather couch, I dropped to my knees, looking up at the man with big round eyes. Just like Tony and Bruce, Stephen had his own weaknesses when it came to moi and I wasn't ashamed to exploit them. Steph's stroked my hair, carding careful fingers through it, slowly unbuttoning his pants with his other hand.
"If you insist on being mouthy, I have a better task for you," He husked, pulling me closer towards him. I called it his doctor voice. Honestly, I don't have a clue how his surgical team could be around him with their pants on back in the day... The man was a snack on a silver platter.
Steph's erection sprang free. I didn't hesitate to wrap my hand around it, stroking the underside of his glans just like he liked it, looking to the side where Tony landed on the couch next to Stephen, a curious look on his face. Yeah, Tony liked to watch. Me and Stephen or me and Bruce... Me and Stephen and Bruce? That's an idea for later.
"Don't mind little old me," Tony smirked his trademark Stark mischief, getting comfortable, ditching his oil-stained shirt and unbuttoning his pants to lazily palm himself through his boxers. "Carry on," The smirk only grew when Tony noticed both me and Steph eyeing him with amusement.
I hid my grin, nodding my head, before wrapping my lips around the tip of Stephen's cock, relaxing my throat to prepare for the intrusion. Sweet and salty, the slit on his cockhead was mercilessly teased by the tip of my tongue.
Stephen murmured encouragements under his breath as I began to bob up and down, him controlling the pace with a hand in my hair, just the right balance between cruel and gentle. The sorcerer was always too good to me, bringing me to the point of overstimulation and instantly soothing the ache afterward; "Fuck, darling, your mouth feels like heaven," He groaned as I snuck a look upwards to see his lips parted and a steady flush crawling up his neck.
"She knows how to work a man, doesn't she?" Tony's lust had him panting, hips moving into his own hand. He leaned closer to Stephen, brushing my hair behind my ear with a tender hand. "Merlin needs to share," Tony began pulling me in his direction. I reluctantly let go of Stephen's cock, keeping up the pace with my hand as I scooted closer to Tony to be able to mouth at his stiff erection.
Watching me suck cock always got Tony hard enough to pound nails with. I couldn't blame him, I knew what I could do and did well; by the time I made my way down his thick flesh, drool was dripping down my chin and the make-up around my eyes was surely smeared by tears. My engineer was much less gentle than Steph, pounding my face without reservations.
"I know you can take it, baby girl, fuck," My face was held in his strong grip, thumbs digging into my jaw. "Such a good girl," The two words went straight down to my pussy and I had to squirm and clench my thighs together, whining at the lack of friction.
The air was pierced by a low moan - Stephen was fisting his erection almost desperately now, almost as desperately as I was humping the air, whining like a bitch in heat at the taste of Tony's cock in my mouth. I knew neither of the men would last long, not with all that pent up tension running through their minds and bodies.
"Fuck, come here, baby girl," The engineer yanked me off his cock, gripping the base of it so forcefully his knuckles turned white. I was all but dragged into the space between them; still kneeling, barely seeing with snot and tears smeared all over my face, I couldn't hold in the broken moan as the realization set in.
"Keep your eyes open!" Steph instructed furiously, scooting to tower over me. Tony followed in his steps as I obediently lifted my eyes to their cocks and then their faces; nearly identical furrowed brow expressions stared back at me, lips moist and eyes wide. Both men stroked themselves with renewed vigor.
I hummed softly before sticking out my tongue; their reaction didn't let me wait long. Strings of pearly white cum landed in my hair, on my face; I felt the warmth on my skin and tasted their salt and musk on the tip of my tongue, reflexively swallowing each and every drop that landed in my mouth, savoring it just like I savored the sinful groans that left their mouths.
"Fuck, you're so good to us," Tony panted, gracelessly falling backward onto the couch.
Stephen, however, didn't hurry to catch his breath, giving me a thoughtful look. His fingers shook more than ever but he paid no mind to the discomfort, gathering the cum dripping down my face with two fingers and offering it to me, holding them up to my lips as I gently cleaned them off. And he did it again, and again, until Tony gave a weak moan of recognition, throwing an arm under his head.
"Be polite, Princess," Stephen's voice hadn't lost the lust in it just yet.
"Thank you, sir," I mumbled, utterly captivated by the way he was looking at me. Stormy blues radiated a strong sense of intensity, devotion perhaps, that I wasn't ready for.
Stephen smiled at me, almost coyly, before kneeling right next to me and bringing me over the edge with a few sharp, clever movements of his hand. I held onto his shoulders for dear life, barely noticing Tony's reaction - if there was one - my other lover seemed to be as surprised as I was, choosing to hang back and observe the unusual situation.
I had a feeling that whatever it was, it would make another appearance during our playtime. It wasn't just sex, it wasn't making love - it was... Something. I loved every second of it.

Hi!!! May I request a HP romantic and friendship matchup on both eras? (Preferably male), thanks in advance! 💞
𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗖𝗦 + 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘
19, Libra, Neutral Good, enneagram is 4w5, Ravenclaw, and my patronus spirit is swan. Bi Pan Genderfluid girl using pronouns of She/Her or He/Him. A friend of mine told me that I (kinda) look like Marinette from 𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆𝗯𝘂𝗴, Musa from 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝘅 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯, and Alexandra Trese from 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲 (a Netflix animated series), but the exception is I'm short (5'1.2") plus sized Southeast Asian woman with Spanish descent that has messy/wavy brunette medium hair, chocolate brown eyes, oriental skin and a small beauty mark on the forehead. My sense of fashion is in between emo and boyish plus korean glam.
𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬
Distant and shy at first cause' I dunno how to initiate a conversation, but a total opposite if I open up---friendly, ambivert, witty, laughing loudly on a daily basis, talkative, awkward, daydreamer (I got embarrassed from knocking at the door even I'm inside the classroom 😂), EXTREMELY clumsy, secretly likes affection, easily overwhelmed, prone to melt over any wholesomeness, flusters on compliments, lightly blushes on cheesy banters, sarcastic person with a lowkey crackhead energy citing meme references, and talented girl who can be your no. 1 supporter and unashamed to be true to myself. In terms of leadership, I only educate and guide than being a prefect (I might take the role seriously), and will lift my group when there's lacking/incompleteness. About doing projects in school, I become too extra and prepared for efforts, but I'll forget the process in the end.
People thought I'm a demure self-effacing woman that looks "idealistic" or "one of a kind," (due to my protective parents, a reason why I've never been in a relationship) but the truth is, I'm eloquent, warm-hearted, willig to help, kind, intelligent, supportive, nice, creative, enthusiastic, determined, tough, competitive, and feisty outside, but a real softie that can be childish and dramatic crybaby filled with doubts, frustrations, and insecurities with fear of failure that pushes off the limits to to please everyone, yet I still managed to be stronger than ever, even it's a slow burn process. I can be intimidating, sassy, and a douchebag if I receive ends. Immature, headstrong, perfectionist, demanding, hesitant, jumpy, very indecisive, overthinker, quick-tempered, sensitive, and anxious (no joke, my nervousness makes me think worse scenario will arrive or I might break a belonging due to my carelessness). Though can be procrastinator and arrogant, I raised as a religious 𝖺𝗇𝖽 diplomatic person, willing to fight what I believe (including my dreams) 𝖺𝗇𝖽 what is right. In addition, I have a habit of staying up late and doing sign of the cross to ease nervousness.
Blunt but the loudest idiotic feeling-brokenhearted and bitter friend in the group who fangirl a lot, swears like sailor, will act like a silent backstabber on people that we loathe, will crack up over your stupid antics before helping, and bring gossips, but a hopeless romantic who tends to banter with sarcasms or pick up lines as an endearment (but gets grumpy if I received sappy or offensive one), still generous and concerned in a subtle way.
𝗛𝗢𝗕𝗕𝗜𝗘𝗦
My hobbies are singing, drawing, roleplaying, listening to music, chatting/browsing on social media, conceptualizing, writing, and reading some stuffs. 𝖨'𝗅𝗅 𝗂𝗇𝖼𝗅𝗎𝖽𝖾 making corniest jokes/puns, 𝗌𝗅𝖾𝖾𝗉𝗂𝗇𝗀, and dancing when nobody's around or walking like a model if I feel so bold (even I'm terrible at both xD).
𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘𝗦
Loves kittens, eating a lot, cartoons, watching YouTube videos (mostly pageants, ASMR, edit audios, and mukbangs), also enjoys playing games on my sister's PSP. Sucker for arts, choir, night sky, makeup, fun/deep/dumb conversations, Christianity, documentaries (about saints, real crime stories, and inspirational people), reading interesting stuffs, talking about social issues, and writings, chilling both indoors and outdoors. Beside that, my music taste are like late 90s-2000s songs (mostly rock, pop, and country) sometimes kpop and ppop, chocoholic, and a sweetooth as well.
𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘𝗦
Things that I hate are stereotyping, HUGE creepy crawlies (spiders, toads, snakes, and cockroaches), firecracker sounds, being left out, loneliness, heart break, blackout, and judgemental people. One random fact about me is, I 𝗐𝗂𝗅𝗅 vent out EVERYTHING I despise in my entire existence---from bad soap operas to toxicity and worse scenarios in real life, because it's a big deal for me, and I consider forcing me to do what I'm not into and manipulating me as my major pet peeves.
𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗦
In terms of triggers...I only have two which are ta𝖨king about divorce/annullment/separation because I came from a generational broken family and religion/beliefs discrimination, cause' there are reasonings that doesn't makes sense because some are too hypocritical.
𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗔
My best assets are smile, eyes, personality, singing voice, artistic skills, writings, intelligence, and oratorical skills...so I can consider myself as a singer, artist, orator, and a top student who's a former active campus ministry member with three roles (choir leader, psalm singer, and reader). Currently an incoming college freshman, learning how to cook and have so many interests, to the point I don't know what I'm into because of my dreams to become a popular Filipino YouTuber, a novelist, and being part of a successful chorale competing internationally...I also consider joining pageants at school too once the pandemic ends, but maybe.
Thank you so, so much for requesting! I had a lot of fun with this one (as you can tell by some of the really long answers lol) and I hope you enjoy!!
In the Golden Trio era, I romantically pair you with…
CEDRIC DIGGORY
One of the most beautiful things about Cedric is that although he may show some introverted tendencies, he still manages to have a natural gift for connecting to others and allowing them to feel comfortable enough to open up. Really, your initial distance and shyness don't last nearly as long towards Cedric as they would with most other people.
Hearing your laughter brings the widest, cheesiest grin to Cedric’s face. Not only does he adore seeing you happy, but he also recognizes that your anxiety, insecurities, and strong emotions can sometimes cloud up your demeanor. Therefore, it brings him comfort knowing that (for the moment) you’re finding joy. He thrives when you thrive!
However, as much as he loves seeing your more energetic and happier self, it goes without saying that he’s the best comfort for when you’re not having the best day.
Cedric is an excellent listener, so he’ll most likely let you talk without interruption for as long as you need before even saying a word. He wants to make sure he truly understands your current state before acting. He may take a few seconds to process everything after you finish speaking, but then he’ll help you tackle whatever problems you’re facing. He’s especially talented at giving words of affirmation.
Cedric’s listening also comes in handy whenever you talk about your interests! He genuinely loves hearing about the things you’re interested in solely for the fact that you’re interested in them. Side note: you can count on him to be at any music performances, pageants, etc. you may have -- this guy is truly your #1 supporter.
Cedric’s a very good student (though I suspect he’s somewhat of a procrastinator himself), so I can also see you two supporting each other through schoolwork and celebrating each other’s successes.
Like you, Cedric has a strong urge to do the right thing. Talking to him about social issues stirs up a need to help, and I could see you two doing volunteer work together in your spare time.
I like to believe one of Cedric’s biggest love languages is quality time. Don’t get me wrong, this guy loves staying involved and busy. But taking a couple hours to be with you in small ways (even if that means just being in the same room while you scroll through social media) gives him a nice balance.
Overall, this kind boy will be there unwaveringly through the bad times and will laugh just as loud as you through the good!
As a friend, I think you’d best be matched with…
LUNA LOVEGOOD
You wanna talk about the best conversations, relentless support, and overall the most wholesome friendship you could ask for? Luna’s your girl.
Being unashamed to be true to yourself is one of the biggest reasons why Luna is so drawn to you. While she’s very friendly and insightful towards everyone she meets, it can get a bit repetitive for her to constantly interact with people who try to shelter their unique characteristics from the world. In her mind, these unique characteristics are what make people so fascinating! Why should anyone hide who they are?
Luna’s creativity is endless, and I can see it blending well with yours. Collaborating on a personal project outside of school (ex: novel, blog, etc.) together is definitely something I could see you two doing.
Speaking of creativity, finding creative solutions to everyday problems (both in school and in life) is your specialty as friends.
Admittedly, Luna isn’t usually drawn to louder individuals. However, the complexity behind your personality makes it easier for her to know you are much more than what meets the eye.
Speaking of, Luna has a difficult time standing up for herself -- whether it’s because she doesn’t feel a need to or she just doesn’t recognize the meaning behind certain phrases. She NEEDS a friend like you to stand up for her sometimes, and I know you wouldn’t hesitate!
Ranting to Luna is therapeutic to say the least. While her aloofness at times may make it seem as if she isn’t fully paying attention, that couldn’t be further from the truth. She’s actually catching every word, and once you’re done she’ll leave you with a philosophical solution that may seem borderline insane/irrelevant when you first hear it, but it strangely makes sense.
Overall, the lack of judgment from either of you is what draws you together. As a result, you build a unique bond that couldn’t be broken even if either of you wanted it to.
In the Marauders era, I romantically pair you with…
REMUS LUPIN
Let’s be honest, it would take you two so long to ask each other out. You were probably already really close friends, but the insecurities and “what if?” questions from both of you delayed an actual relationship.
When you finally started dating, you were both so relieved. You still share a laugh at how almost nothing changed in the way you interacted with each other.
While with mutual friends, Remus sometimes likes to sit back and just watch you, especially when you get really talkative because this is when you become the most expressive. He has the softest smile when you’re actively cracking jokes, discussing something you’re passionate about, or even calling someone out. Sometimes you may be too distracted to notice, but other times you’ll catch him.
“What?”
“Oh, nothing.” (While that same soft smile never leaves his face.)
You both hold really high standards for yourself in terms of school, so expect late-night study/work sessions to be your best bet for quality time.
Though the occasional instance of walking through/lying on the grounds becomes a favorite for both of you.
Remus listens when you’re particularly struggling through anxiety or strong emotions, but he has to consciously stop himself from interrupting because he can’t stand how he feels knowing you’re going through a tough time.
All he wants to do is soothe you during these moments. If you’re comfortable, he’ll hold you while speaking to you in a soft voice. Remus, the intellectual that he is, is also your best chance at finding a reasonable solution. So if you're not in the mood for calming words, he's also a great person to turn to for answers.
As for your ambitions, no matter what you choose to pursue, you already know Remus is going to be your biggest source of support every step of the way. He’s more than happy to help in any way he can!
Overall, Remus appreciates you, and he’s always going to make sure you know it.
As a friend, I think you’d best be matched with…
LILY EVANS
Lily especially connects to you because you manage to be determined, competitive, and intelligent without sacrificing your kindness, which is something she can relate to.
You and Lily are the C.E.O.s of doing the right thing. Neither of you hesitates to back the other up when it comes to confronting someone because you know it’s justified.
As perceptive as Lily is, you never need to tell her when something is bothering you. All it takes is a quick glance before she puts whatever she’s doing on hold to check in with you.
The reverse works as well. Typically, Lily really doesn’t internally struggle too much, and when she does she tries to hide it. You’re one of the only people who can see right through whatever she tries to pull.
The constant banter between you two is unmatched, but you both know it's because you really care about each other.
Overall, you and Lily have each other’s backs through anything, even when the other isn’t actively asking for help.

The "Judge" and The Sinner.
Tw: Violence, language, murder, Self harm
(Partially based off of 3 episodes of Angels of Death; Episode 4: A sinner has no right of choice, Episode 5; Don't let me kill you just yet, and Episode 6; Zack is the only one who can kill me. Some torture methods will be skipped over/changed slightly because most human beings can't endure all of the torture Zack and Rachel (Mostly Zack cause he's an idiot) went through without dying.)
Tumblr media
The elevator doors opened and Riley slowly walked out onto B3, immediatley noticing the machine guns mounted on the walls, as if the last floor wasn't difficult enough; Running from the sweet but obsessive and insane ginger haired grave-keeper; Eddie.
A single bullet was fired from one of the guns, just barley missing Riley's arm causing her to stumble back, just as more bullets were fired rapidly, getting closer until they stopped, only inches away.
"Great...trying to fill me with bullet holes huh?"
"Hiii~! Terribly sorry I'm late! It took you so long to get here...I nearly dozed off! Still...I'm surprised you weren't killed just now! You sure have incredible intuition dear~"
"What..."
"Y'know something? I had a feeling you'd be a great sinner~! ...I must've needed some excitement cause that woke me right up!" "That's great and all miss...but I don't really care...Could you just let me through...?"
"I supposed I can do that~"
Bright lights shined on Riley and she narrowed her eyes so it wasn't so harsh.
The iron bar door slid open and Riley walked through, and walked down the hallway to a room with locked doors.
"You said you'd let me through..." her voice was calm yet slightly irritated.
"My~ You're so impatient! At least let me finish putting on my makeup!"
Riley let out a huff of annoyance.
"There's a certain procedure each criminal must go through before their punishment is assigned~ If I were you, I'd start getting ready now. In fact I'll even open up a room for you~"
One of the doors unlocked and Riley went in.
Tumblr media
(ignore the fact Zack and Rachel are there, it's a room with the mugshot board(?), a camera, and a table with a bin with the name boards)
"Every legitimate criminal has a mugshot, right~? Take a pretty one for me! ...Oh and it's not a proper mugshot without your name board, of course~"
Riley walked over to the table, grabbed her name board out of the bin which said "Riley Morgan" on it, in letters that looked as if they were painted with blood...which wouldn't be surprising if it WAS blood.
"How am I supposed to do this by myself..."
Riley huffed, and moved the camera closer to the wall, hung the name board around her neck and quickly took a picture, narrowing her eyes slightly at the flash.
"There..."
Taking the name board off and tossing it to the side, Riley grabbed the photo and held it up towards the security camera, and the iron bars slid out of the way.
Walking out of the door; into another hallway, but this time with poorly drawn images of what seemed to be torture methods.
"They're illustrations of punishments I designed, for sinners just like you~! I'll give you a choice,...there's more than one way to punish a sinner you see~, So I've got a variety of painful options waiting for you! Of course...if you'd rather spend the rest of your life rotting in a cell...it's always on the table~!"
"What kind of pathetic person would decide to rot forever..."
"Oh~? Too bad...and here I was hoping I'd get to keep you forever! ahahah~!"
Silently Riley walked into one of the rooms, filled with dolls...life size wooden dolls in rows of chairs...with what looked to be an electric chair in the front. "She- She's really trying to fry me to death!"
But suddenly the iron bars slid open.
"Ahaha~! I know you wouldn't survive that kind of punishment! I'd like to see a little sinner like you suffer for longer~ So I ever so kindly let you through!"
Riley hesitated before walking out of that room, into another hallway, with a door that had a warning sign on it. "Doesn't seem like the best of ideas...but it's the only chance I've got"
Opening the door open, Riley imagined sitting in the electric chair and being shocked over and over until she eventually died and shuddered, once inside the door locked behind her. "Great..., as if it wasn't bad enough to be locked in here, it really stinks!" scrunching her nose at the smell, she noticed a corpse in the middle of the room.
Sighing, Riley walked over to one of the blood stained windows, pulled her knife out of her pocket and bashed the handle against the window as hard as possible, but nothing happened, not even the slightest crack.
The TV's in the room turned on, showing Cathy.
"Hiiii~! Did you miss me dear?"
"Like the plague." Riley said flatly.
"Let me give you an explanation of the room you're in right now! And you'd better listen closely if you want to live. I got a little carried away with the design~ It's completely sealed, making it impossible for air to get in or out! The window glass has been reinforced, so you won't be able to break it! And the best part...I'm about to fill it with something veryyy special! If you stay in there long enough, you'll be on your way to a nice, peaceful death. It's poison gas~! Obviously I wouldn't confine you to a place like that with no way out...in fact, here's a gift~ I've mercifully provided a gas mask! As long as you do your best, of the utmost faith you'll escape! Oh, and of course I think it'd be a bit boring if I let you sit in there forever, so I've added a time limit! I knowwww~ I'm sooo thorough! After your time runs out you'll be given another gift! A gas so potent the mask won't do any good against it! That's all for now, have yourself a good time in there, and try not to die, okay~?"
Sighing, Riley glanced at the gas mask in the middle of the floor as the poison gas began to flow into the room, noticing the cracks in the eye lenses "Yeah...that won't be all that helpful..." and then walked over to the corpse on the floor and crouched down.
"There's writing..."
Riley gently shoved the body out of the way and read it
"The one with the ugly foot, the foolish killer who stomped out life with the right foot..."
Pausing as the writing got more difficult to read Riley huffed and then continued.
"It says something like...if you feel guilty get rid of your right foot, if the crime and punishment are equivalent, light will shine in hell."
Riley hesitated before grabbing the right foot, and walked over to the scale and placed it on one side, then grabbed the bag that was placed on the table and set it on the other side of the scale and watched as it balanced out.
The gas started to get to her, and Riley started coughing as it got harder to breath, quickly running over to the gas mask and putting it on, despite the cracks in it, it'd be better than nothing. The gas mask helped a little, but made it harder to see.
"This is stupid! Why the hell bother providing something if it's only going to make it harder you sadistic bitch?!"
Letting out a sigh of frustration Riley looked around hoping something had happened, and noticed the safe in the corner of the room had opened slightly, inside was a wire and a key card. Grabbing both, Riley walked over to where the key card would be inserted and put it in.
The gas stopped slowly and Riley smiled to herself, glad she had figured it out.
"My, my~ What a smart sinner you are~!"
"You're the one that made me come in here in the first place..."
"And you're the sinner who got yourself into this place~! You coulddd chose to rot in a cell~ It's still an option on the table dear~"
"Like I'd decide to do that! I'd rather die immedatley."
"My, my~ someone's eager to be punished for her sins~!" "Not like I can leave this floor till I'm "punished" anyway..."
Cathy laughed as Riley walked out of the room, down a hallway very slowly, the gas still taking its toll. Eventually she sat down against a wall where the cameras wouldn't see her and fell asleep.
Waking up with a jolt, Riley shook her head trying to get rid of the thoughts from the nightmare. Getting up and slowly down the hall, into a room with a smashed doll house, half expecting to be required to do something, she sighed and glanced at the TV in the room.
"I'll let you pass through this one~ I didn't know enough about you to mentally torture you so you're lucky!"
"and you said I took a long time to get here, in that time you could've figured out more about me, but why would you want to? I'm just an ugly, pathetic, useless, boring bitch."
"Oh~? I don't think you're boring! You're actually quite an interesting sinner~ You're smart and I like that about you~ You remind me of that gorgeous sinner; Eddie~!" Not knowing if that was a good thing or not, Riley slowly walked down another hallway, separated in two by a wall in the center with barbed wire on the top, stopping at the table. The door up on the ledge opened and Cathy stepped out.
"How nice to finally meet you in person~!" Riley just gave her a cold glare "You gonna let me through or not?" "My! You shouldn't be so rude to a pretty lady like me~! In order to continue, you must inject yourself with those syringes, one contains vitamins and the other contains dangerous drugs!" "Which is which?" "AHAHAHAHA~!! It doesn't matter! I won't tell, besides I forgot~! Once you inject every last drop I'll gladly open up the door for you! You might wanna hurry though...or else someone you love will die~" and with that, Cathy went back the way she came.
"Great...this could kill me, I'll probably die anyway..."
Grabbing both syringes, Riley looked at them; one of them contained green liquid and the other was yellow, but the colors didn't give any hints as to which was the vitamins and which was the drugs, it wouldn't matter since she'd have to inject both. Quickly Riley injected both into her arm, tossed the empty syringes to the side and the door opened.
"Stupid bitch...my heads pounding..." Riley stopped in the dim hallway and leaned against the wall with her hands against her head.
The so called "dangerous drugs" just brought out the voices in her head, telling her to kill someone, or something and they only got more persistent by the second.
"SHUT UP! JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Riley's voice had gone shrill, laced with insanity as it echoed through the dark empty hallway.
Continuing to walk down the hall as the voices got more and more persistent until she walked into a large room and the door slammed shut behind her, locking.
"Glad you could finally join your sister and I~! It took long enough..." There was a girl standing in the middle of the room with long dark brown hair and blueish green eyes.
"What does she have to do with this? I want nothing to do with her! She left me and Jack, and Jack died!!"
"Oh~, you don't want revenge~? All those voices in your head telling you to kill her but you just can't? Maybe you aren't as great of a sinner as I thought..." The brunette glanced at Riley "R-Riley don't...please..."
"Oh but why not!? Huh? WHY NOT LEXI!? Why shouldn't I? You left us alone, and Jack died. Why shouldn't I rip your throat out right here right fucking now?! So you can go be pathetic somewhere else? Nahhh~ I'll kill you myself, slowly and painfully and see how you like it!"
Fear shined in Lexi's eyes as Riley stepped closer
"Scared~? You should be!" Cathy laughed as she watched the two
"AHAHAH~!! I've provided you with a gun as well~ Kill her as you'd like!" Riley grabbed the gun and pointed it right at Lexi's head.
"You could've avoided this y'know? But you didn't...and now you'll pay for it!"
"RILEY PLEASE!" "You're gonna beg to live? Pathetic. If you're gonna beg, do it right, you don't look nearly as pathetic as he did." "W-wh-who d-did?" "You don't know? AHAH! Go on~ Tell her~!" Riley shot a cold glance at Cathy, enough to make her shut up, temporarily. "You're clueless...Jack? Yeahhh...I did it. I killed him." "YOU WHAT?"
Lexi attemped to grab the gun out of Riley's hand only to have it pressed to her chest.
"He begged me to, so I did." "You whore-" "Do you WANT me to pull this trigger? The trigger that'll end your pathetic existence?"
"Do as you please...it doesn't matter anymore..." Riley pulled the trigger but nothing happened.
Cathy giggled and then bursted out laughing.
Silently Riley pulled the knife out "You'll die one way or another~" and pointed it at Lexi's throat.
"Please...-"
Without saying anything, Riley took the knife and slid it across her arm, blood gushed down her arm but she seemed unbothered.
Silently Cathy got up, and walked down the stairs to where the siblings are "WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!? YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE KILLING HER!" "Did I say I wasn't going to..?" The drugs would've worn off at this point, but because Riley was younger and smaller they hadn't yet, without hesitating she flicked the knife back towards Lexi
"RILEY PLEASE! Can't you hold back?" "Hold back!? IF I COULD I WOULDN'T BE HERE!" "Sinners can't control their bloodlust~ Just accept it!" Lexi stepped back only to stumble and fall
"Get up. Now." Lexi didn't get up, so Riley grabbed her arm and jerked her up making her stand up and quickly plunged the knife into her stomach over and over, blood gushed out and covered the floor around them, Cathy laughed as Riley plunged the knife deeper every time until she stopped and Lexi's body fell to the floor, limp and dead.
"My, my~ You ARE a great sinner~ Now you'll get your punishment~!"
Riley just glared at Cathy silently, her eyes seeming cold and dead.
Without warning the 4 guns in the corners of the room began firing, not knowing what to do, Riley ducked hoping they'd stop before they got to her, unfortunately they didn't and one shot her in the leg.
"You'd look great filled with bullet holes~" Collapsing on her knees, Riley glared up at Cathy "So would you" and pointed the gun at her, forgetting nothing had happened when she pulled the trigger last time.
"Go on~ Shoot me~!" "Why are you so eager to be shot?"
"Just do it! Unless....you aren't as great of a sinner as I thought~" Riley pointed it at Cathy's head and pulled the trigger but nothing happened "AHAHAHA~!! Foolish of you to think I'd actually give you a loaded gun!"
Despite the blood gushing from the bullet wound, Riley shakily got up "So...are you gonna kill me or..." "No. A sinner like you is much too interesting to be killed~!"
Riley sat on the floor, watching blood pool around her, and her sisters dead body in silence.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Credits: The art featured in the header I made for this was, like many of the things I've shared here, drawn by @hiikkups on instagram. So here's your daily reminder to check out my besto friendo. 💜 Also, aside from Rui, another one of my friends OCs, Juno, was briefly mentioned in here. So credit to my boy Flashlight for that.
Warnings: Manga spoilers in a few of the points, but they were either too funny or too relevant not to include. So sorry about that---
Notes: Am I ever gonna get around to Ayume's bio? Hopefully. But honestly, I just feel like messing around right now for whatever reason. Maybe I'm just lazy as all heck. But I figured that I'd at least give y'all this so you can learn a little bit more about her while I procrastinate attempt to work on her bio. Half of it is just memey stuff but hey. I'm having fun. So enjoy your uh... Soup? Or what ever you wanna call this---

This girl does NOT like Gojo.
She was honestly all for Juzo making him into a coatrack.
100% would shake around the Prison Realm hoping he'd get dizzy.
Probably yells insults at it too just in case he can hear.
The only one she can easily say she hates more than Gojo is Mahito.
Despite technically being on the same side, she can't stand him. But to be fair, who can?
She knows his name, but purposely gets it wrong out of spite. The most common names for him include Mahobo, Mojito, and Mahitoe. Amongst various other things.
She's threatened to feed him to Juno on multiple occasions and has at one point, tried to actually go through with it.
Unfortunately, the team "still needed" him.
Absolutely will not hesitate to bring up the fact that he lives in a sewer like the hobo he is.
She got to be the referee that one time they played ball with Jogo's head.
Ended up burying Mahito in the sand and then left him there with no remorse whatsoever.
Rui is her bestie, no questions asked.
Even if she does steal her food all the time but hey. Besties share.
Partners in crime. Literally.
Yuji and Sukuna who??
They rarely ever fight, but when they do, it's about guys.
Doesn't get what Rui sees in Gojo.
Like Geto is literally right there, c'mon now.
Supportive Girlfriend™
Actually kind of a simp.
Please excuse her. She just loves Geto a lot.
Literally cannot have arguments with him because all he needs to do is hug/kiss her and she forgets why she was mad.
He wins every time....
This only works with Geto though. With anyone else, she's as stubborn as they come.
She will fight for hours if you're not already knocked out from her kendama. Don't even bother please. It's not worth it.
She needs to be holding Geto's hand or at least have their pinkies locked at all times. This is not negotiable.
Forehead kisses are also mandatory for both of them.
Rui may or may not have tried to play wingman in the beginning.
Somehow, it worked.
A couple that commits war crimes together, stays together. 💜
She went through an extremely dark period after [REDACTED], and probably ended up clinging onto Kenjaku despite knowing he wasn't really Geto because poor girl was in denial and didn't know how else to cope.
"Girl, that's not your man."
"Close enough."
Obviously this is not healthy. She is not ok and is probably being manipulated someone help her please.
Best to focus on pre-volume 0 ending because everything after that point hurts me. Moving on--
She gets extremely pouty if you call her short.
Will kick you in the shin and watch as you fall to the ground as if to say 'You were saying?"
Geto puts her on his shoulders so she can look down on people and smug levels go through the roof.
She isn't even that short. But being surrounded by trees can do that to a person.
She falls asleep in very strange positions and has woken up upside down more times than she cares to admit.
Has definitely rolled out of bed on accident and spent the next 5 minutes staring at the celling and questioning her life decisions.
She's prone to falling asleep anywhere if she's comfortable enough.
Geto found her asleep behind the couch once.
How she got there is a mystery. But he learned to stop questioning it.
At this point she just sleeps out of boredom when she isn't feeling violent. Seems to be a habit she picked up from Rui.
She's extra as all heck, at all times. Queen of dramatic entrances.
Whether that's the flashy kind or the breaking down the door kind depends on the day.
She actually has a very pleasant singing voice, although only a few people know about it.
It's not something she intentionally keeps a secret, she just hasn't gotten a chance to show off yet.
Used to sing lullabies to Mimiko and Nanako when they were younger.
Rui ended up falling asleep too. Whoops.
It's either soft or arson with her honestly.
No in between.
Need I say more?

Before you read; I'm aware this concept I wrote is sort of vague, but thats because its still got to go through some finalizing. Once its finalized it'll be a whole lot more clear what the hell is going on.
The "woman" in the story is named Samaria Bronwen- the "man" I've yet to name but I'm thinking on naming him something like Ein or something. Idk yet.
The Empress is Empress Elisabet Arabella Vesper of the Vesper Empire who was the last ruler of the Vesoer Empire before it collapsed.
Samaria and (for now I'll just call the "man" Ein) Ein are the ones responsible for Elisabet's death and the collapse of the Vesper Empire into a 200 year long succession crisis that endd with the creation of the Mariah Empire and Vesperian Mafia State.
Samaria and Ein both have a major savior complex, and Ein was the one who put the (highly impressionable 21-year-old girl without a childhood and lack of real idea of what is right and wrong though she cared little for all the rules and laws in the world restricting stuff like murder and crime in general) idea of him and Samaria becoming the saviors of the Vesper Empire into her head.
Samaria is 4 years younger than Ein, whose 25, and by the time they murder Elisabet Samaria is 24 and Ein is 28.
Due to red often being associatd with romance (and evil though its usually whn its alongside black) thats why Samaria has a lot of red in her design. The purple eyes are meant to represent her savior complex and the pink hair represents her innocence that was destroyed by Enin.
For this I got inspired by the song "Escape of The Witch Salmhofer". Feel free to look it up because its really good but since im on mobile rn and theres no draft option for asks I cant link it because I had o copy paste the story below.
Tumblr media
Above is a picture of Samaria (that I actually completely shaded and stuff this time oofers).
~
A woman corrupted by a dangerous love;
Believing her love to have the best of intentions, she became his accomplice in his murders.
A man who was the original "root of corruption";
He was a murderer with "good intentions" who wanted to end the chaos.
The story of the fall of the Vesper Empire on the continent of Theda-
Began with the love story of two corrupted people.
A woman who knew no love, no happiness,
Held captive since her birth, she was experimented upon, her flesh violated,
She was not a true human, she was a simple experiment.
Never being able to enjoy her childhood, living in a cell,
She could only scream as knives pierced her flesh daily.
An artificial life created by the seeds implanted into her mother,
Fertilized with the intents of her captor,
Her wishes never mattered to the man she was supposed to call "father".
But one day her captor was murdered,
And she was rescued by the murderer.
The man extended his hand,
And without hesitation, she grabbed it,
Her desire to escape this "evil" laboratory being the only thing she wanted-
And she was then led away by him into the abyss of "evil".
They became a fugitive couple running across the country murdering all who they deemed "evil".
But just what is "evil"?
What is true "evil"?
For her answer, her rescuer defined "evil" as-
"Malicious intentions".
But the woman who never had learned what "evil" or "good" was simply did not understand...
"I love you!"
A woman who did not know love, who didn't know what was good or bad,
Nor did she ever care for such fickle words;
She didn't care if people called her lover "evil",
Or if now she had become "evil",
For, to her, he had rescued her from a life of pain,
He had been her angel,
The man who had rescued her from her "evil" father,
And now she would be able to live with him forever.
That was her wish,
And nobody could take it from her now.
Teaming up with the mafia to take down the woman whom they viewed to be ruining the country,
They now aimed to murder the Empress herself.
The ice queen who ruled this empire consumed by snow.
This was now what her lover, and thus now her, wished for.
It was time to release the empire from the weak grip of the Empress who did nothing to ease the chaos.
The fugitive couple would become the saviors,
That was the wish they together formed.
Now,
All that was left was to do just that.
The assassination war that had been going on for the last several decades,
A war that cost the lives of hundreds of politicians and government officials and only put the empire into a greater state of chaos,
It was time to end it all!
This chaos this country has been consumed by,
Blinded by love, the woman chose to follow her lover,
She was now "corrupted".
But to her, this was the right way to go.
Now she was a fugitive,
But she cared not for such a title.
A witch,
That's what she was now called,
An "evil witch".
Did she care?
Not at all.
The ice extending from the hands of the woman consumed the palace in a snowy frost.
The man infiltrated in search of the Empress.
The palace was swarmed and set aflame.
The evil fugitive couple enacted their plan.
the citizens who had been suffering did not even dare stop them.
The guards were overwhelmed,
The servants fled in a grand display,
The Empress looked on from her balcony,
She knew,
She knew,
She knew this was the end.
and-
She wasn't scared at all.
She didn't even fight for her life.
Her neck would then be slit.
And there her life ended.
House Vesper's 6,000-year reign in the Vesper Empire was now over.
The fugitive couple reunited at the bottom of the stairwell,
And shared a kiss in victory.
An evil couple who murdered all in their way,
They believed their evil ways were helping.
But all it did was launch the empire into chaos.
The evil fugitive couple-
A woman who had been saved from her "father",
A man who believed he would save the country,
An evil couple who believed they were now "saviors" who had freed the country,
Their act of evil would change history forever.
As always, your style of painting and lighting is very dynamic and adds a level of depth to the canvas that one should never ignore or discount because it's so somber and yet... sincere. There is just this whimsical and magical element to it that makes you drawn to the centerpiece and the one helming the story.
This one made me choke up a little because there is just so much to the story of trying to hold on and survive.

Alright, I have an interesting request. Can you tell me about one of Sarah's first solo missions as the Queen's Silencer? What was it like? What happened? I've been pulling together bits and parts of the Silencer Costume. I've enlisted a close friend of mine to help hand craft some of the leather pieces as well. They work for the Ren Faire and hand make their own beautiful and elaborate costumes. Anyhow, I need the story as inspiration for the photoshoot... and a little secret side project 🤐
Oooh! I love this question! So, in a technical sense Sarah’s actually not done a truly “solo” mission up until this point in her story. Before she was employed by Ciel, she would accompany her father on missions. Sometimes they would work separately, as Sarah and Sebastian have so far, but they would always be working with the same goal in mind.
So I will answer with more detail regarding her first mission. It’s briefly referenced in chapter 10, but here are some of the behind the scenes details...
It was May 1886 when the Queen had requested Richard Wakefield take out an English drug lord who was trading through India, which would compromise some of the negotiations which she was working with Dadabhai Naoroji. The Marquis wasted no time in acquiring the necessary sketches of the crime lord’s residence along with sending a couple of scouts to travel ahead of them to survey the estate for information regarding the guards, servants, and any additional things which might change the mission’s execution. After all that intelligence had been compiled, a simple assassination plan had been drawn up. A small group of seven would split into two groups once they had arrived at the mansion under the cover of nightfall- one to serve as a distraction to lure a large portion of the guards away from the target, the other to execute the sole purpose of the mission. An operation like this was nothing new to the group, most of them being well-seasoned fighters who had seen their fair share of blood-shed. Save one, his daughter Sarah. He knew she had reservations about joining them, was still terrified of the thought of encountering that kind of split-second pressure, but he would hear none of it. Her path had been chosen for her since she had returned from Italy. There was no going back now. And there was no way he would be able to tell if she was worth inheriting his title of Silencer without putting her to the test. Nothing revealed a person’s true character like having the barrel of a gun pointing between their eyes.
The plan had been executed without fault. At least, until they entered the drug lord’s chambers. The room was concealed from outside observation, so all the intelligence they had to go off of were the schematics provided by the designer’s sketches. Despite hating to go into a portion of the mansion practically blind, it was a risk they had to take. His chambers were the only viable hiding place in the event of an ambush. Once the three of them had slipped inside the chambers and closed the door, it was they who were ambushed by a group of ten burly, well-armed guards. It was total chaos and the focus of the small group snapped from assassination to mere survival. By some beginner’s luck Sarah had managed to break free from the fighting and, as she fled to the inner chambers, she found herself face-to-face with the drug lord.
They stood, staring, eyes wide and weapons drawn. Sarah was trembling, her pulse thrumming in her ears, her quivering finger hovering above the trigger. Every thought inside her was urging her to Shoot! Shoot already! But she couldn’t. She was frozen, drawn tight with adrenaline and terror. Then came the searing, piercing heat in her right hip. Dropping to her knees, she clutched a shaking hand to her wound and screamed when the impact sent another jolt of pain from her hip and up her spine.
This was it. She thought, her attention drawn from her wound when her eyes caught movement from across the room. The man she was supposed to kill was rushing for the doors to the balcony. This was what her father had been trying to teach her. She winced, hand still trembling as she raised her gun once more to point at the retreating figure. In the Underworld, there were only two options: survive or die. She closed her left eye, focusing on her target. Fire. A flash of light and sulfur burnt her senses when the man paused to glance back before running through the open doors. He was lifeless before he hit the floor. And hesitation was irrevocably deadly.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I hope that provided some of the detail you were looking for. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! I always enjoy talking about WG. <3
Thank you for this ask! I can’t wait to see what you and your friend are able to fashion for the photo shoot. It’s going to look so cool! And you definitely have me intrigued by your secret side project. ;) But thank you again! Questions like these help to fuel my creativity and drive to write. <3

I used to be a fan of creepshow but since she got a bigger following and became buddies with other youtubers she's changed. Idk I feel like back when she was smaller you could critique her and she would listen if it was done in a polite way but as I've seen in the last few days those days are clearly gone. It's always the same shit with youtubers as soon as they get bigger they all see criticism as just some haters and people chasing for clout. She seem spiteful these days.
I used to be a suscriber too until it came out a video of her saying “you must accept criticism as a content creator, no matter how insulting it is, because how else are you as an artist suposed to improve??” and unsuscribed because I hate that mentality. I would still have some of her videos recommended to me and I would watch as white note while doing something else, and for that I can tell there was certainly a shift on the way she handled topics or what topics she used. For one, she stopped talking about general artist stuff or youtubers on the artists community to be more broadly drama. I have no doubt this happened specifically because she must have noticed that general drama is a lot more profitable than art drama. So she started talking about Shane Dawson, James Charles and Trisha Paytas and other trendy topics like that, because that was on everyone’s mind and of course would bring a lot of traffic. All she said was information readibly available for everyone and it wasn’t nothing specially controversial. Until then everything was fine. It was silly drama, after all.But then she started talking more about Onision, Vanity and Yaniv, real known predators/abusers whose crimes are extremely serious and should be handled by authorities, and that is where I think she started to get this idea that she was the chosen one to talk about Real Issues(tm). She is someone with no media traning, no training in law, no training in how to handle these serious topics, just a “normal” person with opinions and, fuck, that seemed to be enough. People were telling her “thank god you are speaking about this”, “this person is so awful, we need people like you dennouncing them”, “you are so right, you speaking the truth, queen, yes, just tell them” and other things that convinced her then that she was doing the right thing. That she was making a difference. That this was good. That no one else was going to do what she was doing, so it should be done.So she started to get sloppier. After all, she just had to report things easy to find online and she would get praise for it. Why would you ever need anything else? I first really noticed this with that video about some lady supposedly faking so many illnesses, injuries and food alergies. This lady is the face of body positivity for a lot of people and also for disabled visibility, so she was big and she faking having all those issues was also big. What a fraud! So Crapshow reunited all the “evidence” and put it out. Hey, guys, it’s Sharon, and today we are going to speak about this lady possibly lying for attention, don’t forget to like and suscribe! She didn’t consult with any disabled person about how common the experiences of that lady actually were. She didn’t stopped to think how common is to doubt disabled people’s struggles and how damaging it can be for them spread the narrative that you can “prove” someone’s disability, that in fact you should, because fakers are bad and we can’t allow them to exist, no matter how disproportianaly affects disabled people and their hability to get the assistance they need. People told her this. There was no way no one in the internet wasn’t going to let her know maybe that was unnecesary and irresponsible thing to do. But the response of people telling her “yeeaaaah, you tell them, queen, you bring down those fakers!”, “my queen Sharon is speaking nothing but the truth!”, “I am so glad you are covering this!” was greater and they were more people, so why shouldn’t listen to them instead? They were the majority, and it couldn’t be that ableism is a thing so normalized that people fell into it without realizing, so case close. Then she talked about MAPs in twitter (don’t drag me to map discourse o I will block you) and once again she was getting praised for her bravery and resolution to save the kiddies, for talking about dangerous people, for talking about Real Issues that were Important. The look from that high horse must have been amazing for her, I bet. From there, it was only a matter of time before she spoke about “cartoon cp”. It could have been loli or shota in general, about how it’s wrong and it’s disgusting and how she cannot believe there are people who seek that content out, when those are lItErAlLy cHiLdReN and bla bla bla. Let’s forget about how she defended just-a-fish from detractors who used him following a loli account as a reason to hate on him and call him a pedophile. Let’s forget about how she defended an artist from backlash after making a grown up version of a teen character. Let’s forget about how she has claimed to be the saviour of big titty drawn ladies because art and it’s fine and you are all too damn sensitive. Let’s forget how none of her videos are age restricted and when she still posted her own speedrawings, a lot of times those drawings were about naked ladies.Let’s forget about all of that. There is kiddies to save, money to make and, hey, this should be easy, right? I am sure someone was “hey, Sharon, now that you are speaking about predators on twitter, how about you speak about this artist that does this disgusting shit. Just look at this lewd images and don’t even paid attention to the context of abuse. These literal kiddies are naked! And they do lewd stuff! You have to talk about this, Crapshow, we need you” and that is all she needed. As I said, she was getting sloppier and sloppier already so easy target (small account), easy subject (kiddies in danger!), easy to talk about (it’s disgusting, therefore this is illegal!), so of course she was going to get into it with her personal disgust as the only reason for anything. As long she keeps being praised for the shit she does, she is never have a reason to change her mentality. I am sure she thinks she only spoked the truth, that this was something that should have happened, that this was important and if no one else is talking about it, then, why else does she have a platform. But the way she reacted to people telling her how wrong she was, that only made it clear she gives a solid fuck about honesty or compassion. It’s all performative, just like antis have always been performative. Can you even imagine Crapshow going against her audience’s opinion on anything, ever? I can’t.

Maynila Sa Mga Kuko ng Liwanag (1975) & Insiang (1976), dir. Lino Brocka
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maynila sa mga Kuko ng Liwanag had a small cast, yet it was effective enough to be able to portray what the director wanted to show the audience. For the most part of it, I find myself being drawn to the movie which is definitely a good thing, by the way, but in all honesty, I don't like how the turn of events follow throughout the film. I didn't like what was happening in the movie, but it doesn't necessarily mean that I don't like the movie itself; there's a thin grey line there. I do get the point that the plot of the film isn't exactly rainbows and sunshines, but it was all so heavy to take in. Although yes, that is the point, and maybe it says about how harsh life can be when set foot to the city of Manila where you think it's where you'll become successful yet only a start of something that could change your life forever. I happen to always put myself in the characters' shoes in every film, whether it may be something I have experienced myself or not. It's a way for me to be able to comprehend and fully understand what the characters are going through and how they deal with it. I'd say one is a good movie when it makes me feel something. Since I was able to empathize with the characters in this movie despite the differences in the generation, experience, and status in life, I was still able to feel for them, and that I think is what makes it a good movie for me.
The same can be said on the other Lino Brocka film, Insiang. The characters in the film aren't a lot too, yet it effectively shown what its message is. I adore how the characters are all unique in their own way and have their respective personalities. They all have their own voice in the movie, regardless if their character is likeable or not. To some extent, you are able to see some gradual character developments in the film despite the setting being the same places over and over again. Especially with the main character, Insiang. You'd see how she's very passive and innocent-like. It's as if despite all the things that had happened to her, she still doesn't try to fight back. She attempts to get help from the people she trust but to no avail. I've been waiting that if not any of the people in the film can help her, maybe she'd help herself by finally fighting back and standing up for herself. What we did see though is her doing things unexpected of her, like how she starts to seduce and give in to Dado when she was harassed by him without being scared of what her mother nor her boyfriend would react about it. It then turn out to be Insiang using Dado as a way to get revenge on her boyfriend and her using her mother's anger towards Dado's betrayal in order to drive her to murder Dado as a way to get revenge on both him and her mother.
With regards to the style or visual of Maynila, the setting really do depict the contrast between rural and urban areas. The setting has this realistic vibe that builds up to the scenes and blends well with its entire plot. This adds up to the realistic approach the film wants to put. Also considering the time this was made, the cinematography is well put out. I'm quite impressed how they've managed to pull of some of the shots. With the era this has been made where there are little to no resources with regards to visual or special effects, the film has successfully achieved a visually pleasing masterpiece. The shots are done raw and all so naturally which is just right for the entirety of the film. In terms of the narrative, it's immensely focused on the character of Julio, how we can see his development that would later turn into his transformation into a violent person. I love this way or storytelling because you, as a viewer, would feel more connected to the film and get invested to the character that would have a greater impact. In this way, not only do you get emotionally invested, it makes you want to watch the film as you get hooked waiting for what would happen next. As I watched the film, I was able to see that and also feel empathy for the main character. It's something that rarely occurs to a film that you may not be familiar with or a big fan of or something that doesn't really sparks your interest, and that says a lot about how this film was able to go beyond what you are expecting and makes you root for the character and as well as the entire plot.
For Insiang, however, the style and visual wise, it had shown the rawness of the lifestyle within a small town that is typical of the Philippine setting. The way they captured this goes the same with Maynila, and that's one of the little factors that makes you think that they are both made by a single director. It's pretty much similar to Maynila in a way that it depicts the way of life in a certain community and a certain household. You could also see some similarities with the actors and actresses in both films. What I was able to notice too is how the setting they utilize in the film are always fixed that you don't just see the places once or twice, it's pretty much shot within a particular area that is noticeable. There's nothing bad with that, though. It's in fact fascinating how they repeat the settings without it feeling dull and tiring. There's always something new or different within the setting that is constant throughout the film that enables you to observe how some of the characters progress or change and indicates how the story develops.
What I have observed from the film languages are how they have utilized the different angles in certain scenes that depict how a person is low down the slums or high above anyone else. It also indicates how something is important or when something is about to happen. There's nothing much to point out with regards to it, but the fact that they have used this as a means to tell something to audience is really prominent and I love how it speaks directly to the audience. You know when someone is connected or disconnected to a person. You also know when someone is trustworthy or sketchy. There have been a lot of this that plays around with the viewer's perspective. Nonetheless, it had been effective at delivering a message and telling a story behind it.
Applying the context of the Auteur Theory in both films from Lino Brocka, you'd see the similarities between the two in general. With Maynila, you see how it's a story about a man from province grew from innocent to violent because of anger and vengeance. Same goes to Insiang, you'd see how a simple girl from the slums of Manila grew from silent and passive to vengeful and passive-aggressive. Both of the main characters in the films have this common ground and goal. Same with how their character was developed into something they didn't use to be. What can be said from these similarities are how the director wants to send a message. Perhaps it had something to do with the repression. It can be seen in Maynila that the one who held Julio's girlfriend, Ligaya captive in the urban city is actually a Chinese. That subtly indicated that at that period there have been already a quarrel between the Philippines and China. As for Insiang, it is seen how the people she's close to or hold on to for help don't actually care for her and are not sincere. They all have their selfish minds and cruelty on Insiang which is why she turned on them. Perhaps it also tells something about repression, maybe something about how we have been colonized only to be used and abused.
The two films, besides having major similarities, have an identity that makes you think that it is a Lino Brocka film. By watching them, there's that unspoken truth that lies between the films that it is something made by this particular director. It reflects how he has these ideals and perspective in the Philippine context. Perhaps it's also safe to assume that he is driven or motivated to direct said films because of an underlying issue or problem that the country is facing.
Maynila tackled the social issue with regards to the twisted side of Manila, and how people from provinces are blinded by it. It shows their naivety, how they think highly of those who reside in Maynila. Although to some extent, I find it becoming extremely cliché, it's still the reality we have that's still happening up to this date; it probably have gotten worse throughout the ages. However, they don't only show the bad side of Maynila. They have also shown that despite the wrong people they've trusted and encountered along the way, there will always be people who are genuinely kind and concerned. It's a balance of the good and the bad side of Maynila, although the bad side of it is dominant; and as someone who grew up in Metro Manila, I do agree with it to a certain point. There are also scenes that show the side of the LGBT Community back in this era, that they are more objectified and stereotyped that aren't a good reflection of how they identify with compared to this day. They are seen more of a threat to the society and are only seen as people who are obsessed with men and sex, who would also do everything to make money out of prostitution and in exchange, pursue them.
On the other hand, Insiang had tackled more on the abusive side of Manila or the country in general, especially during those times. How particular women are always objectified and abused. These can be observed with the first few parts of the film, how the women in the film are abused or harassed and there is little to none justice to it besides personal vengeance from family members or friends. It's as if it's a norm and not considered as a crime or a sort of abuse compared to how sensitive a topic it is to this date. Rape culture in the country have also been tackled in this film, and it is alarming how back then, there weren't much protection for women and how lacking the generation was with its awareness towards rape. It also signifies how victims aren't heard but are often judged, and when it comes to asking for help, there are little to none that you can reach out to or would actually offer to help you with it. That being said, it had also talked about the toxic masculinity especially back then where men were in power compared to women and that they "own" the women they "love". Another is how in every conflict, it must be resolved through violence where in not only it is toxic but also unnecessary as not everything has to end up with that. It had also tackled the judgmental society, how every action that you make, regardless of what intentions you have or if it really is a fact, people will always talk about you the way they choose and want to see it. People create their own truth, and although this film didn't entirely focus on that, the fact that it is there speaks about the society we have back then and up to this date. Lastly, it also tackled about the toxicity within family members, that despite their abusive traits, you must stay with them because they are "blood". This is shown through Insiang's mother, how she talks down to Insiang and see her more as a maid than her daughter, ordering her around every time.
Maynila had a lot of scenes I personally didn't like, but doesn't necessarily affect the quality of the film. One of the things that I only find unnecessary in the movie were certain events like two of Julio's friends dying throughout the film, Perla's home burnt down, Julio being robbed by a cop, him encountering gay prostitutes, and so on. I find them completely absurd and irrelevant to the main plot of the film which mainly revolved (or at least what it implied) within Julio's job and the whereabouts of his significant other, Ligaya. I kept having questions as to what happened and how it led there, but these events are constantly happening in between the film which to some extent infuriates me until I get tired or bored of it. It made me grew frustrated, probably because they kept teasing like how they showed that one Chinese place Julio thinks Ligaya is in yet gets no leads or progress from it besides when he sees the lady that brought Ligaya in Maynila. Maybe it would've been much better if they put out some of those unnecessary scenes that I might as well call “fillers”. But I do get it though, it adds up to what I was talking about when they were trying to also show the bad side of Maynila. I also didn't like how they portrayed the LGBT Community but I do understand that it's different back then compared to today. But there is certainly no denying that I didn't like how that turned out to be.
Same with Insiang, there are also a number of scenes that I didn't like, and those are the aforementioned social issues that have been tackled in the film. One of those that I have mentioned that I particularly didn't like was the way they have shown how badly treated Insiang was, particularly women. I didn't like how the other women Insiang trusted turned back on her, especially her mother. Women are supposed to help each other against the repression against abusive men, but that wasn't shown in this. Although what substituted to that was how they shown Insiang develop into a vengeful woman and indirectly ruined their lives which is what I liked about it. It was powerful, they way she took revenge on the people who have hurt her. You would expect that she'd turn on them typically by forming an alliance or taking them down violently or anything that anyone would expect to happen. This one took a different perspective on vengeance, how she was able to take down the people who had hurt her without getting in trouble nor getting her hands dirty. It was something logical and psychological, and that's something I didn't expect from a film that's dated a few decades ago.
I find Maynila great despite of how a lot of things change in our society, views, and culture. Simply by looking at how things were way cheaper back then compared to now is already a big factor of change, which is why it's somehow challenging to be able to review a film from a different generation objectively especially since there had been drastic changes in the field of cinema as well. Nonetheless, it's fascinating how the movie can still speak to you and how there are things that haven't changed — like how some issues tackled in the film can still be seen nowadays, and it's alarming. It serves as an eye-opener to each and everyone of us, no matter where you came from. Whether you were born in Metro Manila, raised in the province, or vice versa, you will be able to feel for this film. It's how great its impact is, especially to the Filipino.
As for Insiang, it wasn't something I was expecting from the beginning to the end. It's very unpredictable and at the same time a great film. It's way ahead of its time, and it's also something that speaks to the audience, especially with the underlying messages and social issues that it has. Regardless of what period you are in, it's safe to assume that the issues that it tackles will always be relevant in the society you live in. It makes you think how these things are already occurring back then yet is still happening today. Although it's alarming, this film had managed to be able to send that message off to its viewers and that alone is something commendable for a film and a director. You'd see how Lino Brocka really has that deep kind if mindset towards these things and it does help you too, as an audience to become more wary of the society and the issues we are facing, regardless if you are directly affected by it or not.
There's nothing much recommend really, but I wished there were parts that they changed or didn't do, especially when it has little to nothing to do with the plot or storyline. But the main reason too as to why there's nothing much to recommend is because of how these films are made during its time, where all the values, ideals, culture, and mindset were different comapred to how it's shaped to this date. All in all, both films directed by Lino Brocka are something that each one of us need to watch. It may not be suitable for everyone, yes, but you know that the message behind every film he makes have something to tell you that a certain problem in the country is happening at this point and we have to do something about it. It's a food for thought that films like these are a medium used to communicate to people and spread awareness on the coexisting problems we face or people face on a daily basis. In conclusion, not only does Lino Brocka have a mindset that's beyond his time, he also sees to it that the films are something that will speak to the general audience despite the differences in perspective and experience.

In a previous ask you listed Stefan as one of your favorite characters and I wonder what makes him one of your favorite characters? What makes your drawn to him and root for him? A lot of people say his character is boring, but I disagree, though I've only seen the first 3 seasons so I might not have right to an opinion as I haven't watched the later seasons.... but I love Stefan and I absolutely adore Paul and I think he's very good at portraying his character and the different sides of him etc
Of course you have the right to have an opinion. Even if you’d only watched one episode, you still have the right to have an opinion. I’m more than happy to share with you why I love Stefan, but a little pre-warning there will be spoilers from seasons 3-8 and also my response will be pretty hefty, which I’m sure you’ll be expecting if you’ve read any of my other responses to asks haha.
When I think about what makes Stefan one of my favourite characters there are so many reasons that I couldn’t just choose one. But a good place to start would be to say, the simplest reason is that I’m just connected to him and once you develop that connection with a character it’s hard to break it.
Other than that, the reason I love Stefan is because he’s just such a complex character. He’s actually so complex, that the writers themselves haven’t seemed to know what to do with him a points throughout the course of the show. Paul’s abilities as an actor are fantastic and the fact that he is able to so perfectly portray Stefan and the Ripper and make them feel like two separate people that are also interlinked is amazing. Honestly, I only have to see a gif and I instantly know whether Stefan has his humanity or not based on Paul’s expressions, eyes and body language. It’s really incredible how he manages to do that. And I don’t want to reveal any spoilers, but in season 5 Paul demonstrates his acting abilities even further.
It frustrates me to no end that people brand Stefan as being boring. It’s such a narrow-minded and stereotypical view of his character. I understand where it comes from since in seasons 1 and 2, he was that typical good guy, always doing the right thing. As Matt said, Stefan’s “that guy”, as in the guy that’s so perfect that everyone hates him. But I don’t understand how anyone that actually watched the show (past season 3 in particular) can have that opinion of him. The truth of the matter is that Stefan in season 1 was only half of himself, if that. He was still so caught up in the baggage of his past, so consumed with staying “clean” and managing his blood lust, of not giving into his dark urges as a vampire, that it forced him to strip himself back completely. He spoke softer, he carried himself in a particular way, he forced smiles, he tried his hardest to be an ordinary 17 year old, but in reality he was anything but. Regardless of how you look at it, a lot of the time in season 1, Stefan wasn’t himself. We got to see more of a glimpse of the other side to him towards the end, when he struggled with his blood lust after Elena gave him her blood to save him in 1x18. This is where we really saw that Stefan wasn’t “that guy” and that he was just like everybody else - he had his issues, he lost control and he wasn’t perfect. The thing that struck me the most during those episodes when Stefan was struggling with his blood lust, was that he was torn between that part of him that really just wanted to let go and drain the blood from everyone in sight and the part of him that was desperately clinging to the person he wanted to be and was deep down inside. The fact that he told Elena at the end of 1x19 how much he was struggling really highlighted that. Stefan really opened the flood gates in 1x20 when we finally learned the story of how he and Damon came to be vampires and he explained to Elena how he truly felt; the crippling guilt he carries all the time and the pain that goes along with it that was so intense that it actually made him not want to live anymore. That’s the point where we started to get a glimpse of the experiences that had led Stefan to where he was and formed the person he was. We saw that he’d done terrible things in his past and he was a monster, but the fact that he felt genuine remorse and pain for that proved he was more than that and as Elena said, he made a choice to be good and reject the person the blood made him. How can you not root for someone like that? Someone that is not naturally good, but nonetheless fights their damn hardest to be the best they can be?
What I also love about Stefan is that, as you mentioned, there are so many different sides to him. Obviously the first thing that comes to mind when I say that is Stefan and the Ripper, but it’s not limited to just that. I think perhaps a more accurate way to describe him is to say that he’s very multi-layered, rather than saying he has different sides to him. With each episode that passed I caught a glimpse of a trait of his that I’d never seen before or I learned more about his past. There’s always something new to learn about Stefan and even 8 seasons on, there still is. Whilst in the earliest episodes he came across as rather boring and lacking in personality or substance, with the appearance of Lexi in 1x08 we were opened up to a completely different side to him. Suddenly he was a really fun guy with good taste in music (Bon Jovi, duh!), that, in Lexi’s words, jumped naked into the Trevi fountain and got drunk on the torch of the statue of Liberty. We got to see him relax, loosen up and show his lighter side and we discovered that him being uptight is just because he’s not fully comfortable around people he doesn’t know too well. Is that a crime? In fact, I’d argue most people suffer from the same problem and struggle to be themselves around new people. Personally, this made Stefan very relatable and that’s one of the first steps in me connecting to a character. Stefan is also deeply sensitive, he really feels things and is affected by the pain of other people. He can’t help but get emotionally invested and involved in other people’s problems and it’s the reason why he’s always stepping in to save people and help them in anyway he can. His journal has always been his way of being able to channel those emotions and express his inner turmoil at carrying the weight of not just his own feelings, but those of the people around him and yet again, all of this is something I personally relate to, because I’m exactly the same.
I know that along with being branded as boring, Stefan has also earned the title of “good guy”, which is kind of directly tied to being boring. That guy that’s always the hero, always doing the right thing and is just and fair is generally boring because people want the anti-hero, the villain that they can root for to earn their redemption. The thing is, calling Stefan the good guy is as narrow minded as calling him boring, because he is certainly not the good guy. He has maimed, tortured, killed and feasted upon countless of innocent people all for his own amusement and I believe there’s a deep part of Stefan that is truly evil. The proof we have of that is how drastically different Stefan is whenever he is without his humanity. With characters such as Damon and even Caroline, let’s be honest, there was barely any difference when they didn’t have there humanity and with Damon in particular, I actually couldn’t tell you at what points during the series he had his humanity and the points that he didn’t. However, when it comes to Stefan, boy, you know it. Without his humanity, he is utterly ruthless, there is no limit on what he’ll do, nothing that’s too far or too much, he just does whatever the hell he wants. His eyes, his mannerisms, his behaviour, his actions, the things he says, everything about him is different when he doesn’t have his humanity. Watching Stefan in season 3 was the first time I really took notice of him and was like, “Whoa, this guy!” Seeing that dramatic turn in his character was intriguing and honestly made me fall in love with Stefan in a completely new way. But what was fascinating about Stefan in season 3 is that no matter how far he fell into that black hole of darkness, he never stopped clinging to that humanity, deep inside himself and that is who Stefan truly is. That’s his heart and soul. The darkness in him is essentially created solely from his vampirism. That’s what’s so strange about him, too, is that I actually genuinely don’t perceive his darker side to be a part of his true self. I think that if you dig right into the center of Stefan and get to his soul, he is truly good and pure. All of his issues come from being a vampire. Think about it. As a human Stefan was pretty happy - he was the apple of his father’s eye, his mother doted on him (before she “died”), he had a good relationship with his big brother, he lived a wealthy lifestyle and when we saw flashbacks of Stefan as a human he always struck me as being pretty contented. The start of Stefan’s issues were when he accidentally killed his dad and took those first few drops of blood. From there it spiralled and once he’d made Damon turn and Damon completely turned against him, the dark side of Stefan was born. I personally have always believed that the Ripper was created because of Stefan’s issues with Damon. He lost his mother, killed his father, was responsible for Katherine’s “death” and Damon was the only person he had left in the world. All that kept him going was the thought of spending eternity with his brother and once he realised that he’d messed up and Damon hated him, it broke him. The only way he knew to deal with that pain and loneliness and devastation was to turn it off and lose himself in the blood. And those impulses have never left him, it’s become almost a learned behaviour for him now. He feels pain and his immediate reaction is to feed to numb the pain. It’s his coping mechanism. But I’d argue that unlike a lot of Stefan stans, that Stefan doesn’t have an addictive personality. If he was human or had always been human I don’t believe he would be an addict. His need for blood was created from being a vampire and the events that led to it and the consequences too.
Another reason I love Stefan, which is actually one of the simpler ones: have you seen how he treats Elena? How he treats Caroline? How he treats Bonnie? How he treats everyone? (x) (x) Stefan is a gentleman. He’s sweet, he’s kind and he’s sincere. From the second he came onto the show in season 1 he had an overbearing desire to protect everyone. Even though it was Damon that turned Vicki, Stefan took full responsibility for her and dedicated himself to trying to help her deal with the transition, he supported Caroline through her transition and without him she really wouldn’t have made it, he forgave Katherine for the trauma she put him through for 160 years and gave her peace in her final moments, he teamed up with Rebekah and promised to help her find the cure despite her being his enemy, he saved Damon multiple times despite the fact Damon had made his life a living hell, he stepped aside from the love of his life to let his brother be happy, he forgave his mother for abandoning him and pretending to be dead for over a century. The list could continue, but the point is Stefan is a forgiving, compassionate person that constantly shows how much of a decent and strong person he is through the selflessness and mercy he shows, even to his enemies. These are the traits that make a person strong and Stefan has all of them.
Every time I look at him, I just can’t help but wish the best for him, because he deserves it so much. I’ve seen him sacrifice so much and he’s never really got the rewards or benefits and he’s never begrudged that or even complained. He keeps trying to move forward and I also love that despite the fact that he comes across as a rather brooding and depressive character, he is actually so filled with hope. No matter what happens to him, he never gives up, he simply looks at what’s happened and finds a way to deal with it. And I hate making comparisons, but I feel it’s relevant to make this point. Unlike Damon, Stefan actually rarely (if ever) flies off the handle when he’s upset or angry (unless he has no humanity). I mean, Elena dumped him and slept with Damon within 24 hours, then they both lied to him about being together and do you know what he did? He threw a chessboard across the room. In season 5 when he was dealing with PTSD after being locked in a safe and drowning over and over for months and was still struggling to deal with his break-up with Elena, he kept it all inside and dealt with it by letting Caroline and Katherine help him. He didn’t blame anyone else or result to violent or reckless behaviour, he pushed through and attempted to deal with it in a healthy way without being a burden on anyone else. And that is who Stefan is. He never asks for anything, he never wants pity or sympathy or credit, he just does what he has to, what he’s supposed to and that’s it.
I could really go on all day about why I love Stefan, but the best way to summarise it is that he’s just a loveable character to me in every single way. He has so much to offer and despite the writers failing on knowing what to do with such a fantastic character, their poor writing still can’t take away from the complexity of his character and I really praise Paul for managing to convey that, even as the seasons have progressed.
From the beginning the story was narrated as being Stefan’s story and he was the one that drew me in. He’s the vampire I was intrigued to know, his history was the one I watched for and his relationships and development were what I wanted to see and that has never really changed. Stefan is the heart and soul of the show (along with Elena) and it wouldn’t be the same without him. And whilst I have the chance, I want to argue the point, that although Damon has the reputation for being the funny brother, Stefan is actually very funny (x) (x). Damon might have his snappy one liners, but Stefan’s snarky comments and sass is so much more subtle, and in my opinion, funnier. Just thought I’d throw that out there as a final point haha.
