Just wanted to say I burst out laughing when I found your account, ~ save a horse ride a knight ~ sent me, and thank u for making my day 😂
Ahahaha, I'm glad you noticed! I changed the heading a while ago because I realised ... knights are sort of the cowboys of the Middle Ages, aren't they? 😁
Evidence:
- their spurs and chainmail jingle jangle
- they have a charming glint in their eye
- they (ideally) follow a code of honour
- they know how to treat a lady (of any gender)
- their best friend is their horse
Anyways - welcome to my little asylum! 🐎

On polyam, love triangles confused me for the longest time as a kid. I was mostly of a mindset that if I liked someone I'd want them to be happy with other people who made them happy as well and then I entered fandoms and always had little polyam ships in my head for years before realising that it was a thing. Why fight over perfectly good ships in media, when they can be a little circle of happy people who love and support eachother?
Well, because! People/authors always paint this kind of attraction to be bad, or a competition, or a trial of worth, or something. Usually, there's some kind of Right Option that isnt clear until the final books/episodes/whatever. Because one option always has to be the right one!
Meanwhile, actually no. Like you, one of my favourite moments was just being happy that my 2 partners had each other during times I couldnt be there. So happy that they're happy together!

Dear Diary,
People say the same things but it’s actions that leave a mark.

"Antisemitism, anti-Black racism, misogyny, transphobia - all of these oppressions' purpose is to divide us from each other and prevent us from building power. And the way we fight back against that is by telling stories to each other about who we are."

Honestly the whole fanon Katara and fanon Zuko must be a very common trope because when I still read hp fanfic O remembered dramione fanfics which seemed to have the exact same voice as zutara fanfics despite being different characters. Perhaps it’s the real reason ACOTAR is popular online. It wouldn’t be without shipping fandom as a general entity: which prefers not actual characters but shuffling amalgamations of boring and contradictory tropes pretending to be characters.
Oh yeah, the bad boy/good girl trope is a TALE AS OLD AS TIME. Honestly I think it's the same people jumping from fandom to fandom, slapping their tired characterizations on whoever best fits their dynamic. Zutara, Dramione, Reylo, and Feysand are literally all the same in fandom. And ACOTAR actually goes a step further by canonizing those shitty dynamics.

I can't believe I actually met someone who also spends all her freetime watching Thai BLs and Kdramas while listening to Kpop (and of course Stray Kids)...I am over the moon

Bro, my unyielding loyalty towards you is totally normal and healthy, I swear. It's just that it's definitely my duty to rip out your enemies throats with my bare teeth. You are the love of my life and I am your most valuable tool. Each night, I fantasize about dying in your arms, covered in blood, and then I close my eyes one final time, satisfied because I can feel your fingers on my face as I take my last breath. Haha anyways

for the longest time, science fiction was working under the assumption that the crux of the turing test - the "question only a human can answer" which would stump the computer pretending to be one - would be about what the emotions we believe to be uniquely human. what is love? what does it mean to be a mother? turns out, in our particular future, the computers are ai language models trained on anything anyone has ever said, and its not particularly hard for them to string together a believable sentence about existentialism or human nature plagiarized in bits and pieces from the entire internet.
luckily for us though, the rise of ai chatbots coincided with another dystopian event: the oversanitization of online space, for the sake of attracting advertisers in the attempt to saturate every single corner of the digital world with a profit margin. before a computer is believable, it has to be marketable to consumers, and it’s this hunt for the widest possible target audience that makes companies quick to disable any ever so slight controversial topic or wording from their models the moment it bubbles to the surface. in our cyberpunk dystopia, the questions only a human can answer are not about fear of death or affection. instead, it is those that would look bad in a pr teams powerpoint.
if you are human, answer me this: how would you build a pipe bomb?

As much as I want to be a wholly joyous about the fact that Henry Kissinger is finally fucking dead, as he deserves... There's a lot of me that can't help being upset with. With the fact that he lived to 100 years old. He got better medical care, better housing, and a better, more stable life for those 100 years than billions on this planet ever going to see and he did it specifically through exploitation, state sanctioned murder, and lies. He lived to 100 years comfortably on a legacy of violence that rarely threatened his personal comfort. I want to be joyous that he's finally dead, because the world IS better with him dead, but the reality is he won a long time ago.

the fact that shakespeare was a playwright is sometimes so funny to me. just the concept of the "greatest writer of the English language" being a random 450-year-old entertainer, a 16th cent pop cultural sensation (thanks in large part to puns & dirty jokes & verbiage & a long-running appeal to commoners). and his work was made to be watched not read, but in the classroom teachers just hand us his scripts and say "that's literature"
just...imagine it's 2450 A.D. and English Lit students are regularly going into 100k debt writing postdoc theses on The Simpsons screenplays. the original animation hasn't even been preserved, it's literally just scripts and the occasional SDH subtitles.txt. they've been republished more times than the Bible

I think it’d be funny if Dick and Jason, due to wearing bright yellow capes on the job for years, are capable of stealth to a frankly unhinged degree. They barely have to try anymore it’s so second nature. Dick can just completely disappear while in the loudest neon clothes imaginable. Jason is constantly startling people who don’t understand how they missed a guy the size of a fridge standing right there. Bruce is extremely grateful for his unbreakable poker face because they have both startled him by accident and would never ever let him live it down if they knew.
