Under the Cover of Knight

The High Queen Phantom and her two heirs are doing quite splendidly, so Fright Knight thinks. But he realizes that suitors must soon be screened, even if unwillingly.

Though before, this had been done by specifically trained ghosts, Pariah's tendencys had undone that. Therefore, it was up to him, as the royal family's guard.

He may not be able to create a mortal disguise, but he was nothing if not determined. So Fright Knight sets out to find Lady Gotham, who is delighted to let him stay and search for the potential suitors of the royal family. She wishes him the best of luck!

After proudly announcing his presence to two mortals in an alley, he now had two new workers in his search for the suitors.

He attempts to test many of the prominent mortals and liminals he comes across, though it usually results in being obscured or outright attacked.

Fright Knight sits on the floor of an abandoned house, deep in thought, his numerous soldiers in search working around him. Harold Devita has bought hotdogs.

Perhaps, Fright Knight should not be upfront. Perhaps, he could employ some trickery. Knight he may be, but Halloween is the day of tricks, after all.

How could Clover's skirt cause pain to her broken tail in that scenario?

Warning: Discussion of injury and self-mutilation ahead, as well as SPOILERS (I'd call it minor, or at least non-detailed) for the Guardians of Ga'hoole book, "The Rise of a Legend".

I'm not thinking so much that the skirt itself causes pain. Although having the skin pull on the injured spot might hurt a little.

I'm thinking more like a Lyze of Kiel situation, from the aforementioned book. (For context, he is an owl.) In that book, one of his toes/talons gets injured and causes him chronic pain. So he rips it off.

Clover is no stranger to pain--She can and will handle it in bursts. But I can see her getting fed up with chronic pain, especially if she sees a way out of it.

Alternatively, maybe something else ripped off her tail and part of the skirt, so she decided to finish the job.

I think we need to get more comfortable with the idea that sometimes shitty, racist, homophobic, bigoted people are still incredibly talented.

I feel like every time I see a post addressing someone’s shitty behavior the post also takes the time to mention that they’re not even good at [x] anyway. And that’s just not always true? Equating being good at a skill as being morally good is just not necessary. Someone can be a fantastic writer, can have a beautiful singing voice, can create breathtaking artwork, and still be a horrible person.

I know part of this is probably just the instinct to dislike everything about a person when you dislike them, but I also think this mindset leads to people defending creatives way past where they should, because if bad people create bad art, then if this person creates art that I like and resonates with me, then they can’t be a bad person!

And you know. That’s just not true. Those two things are simply completely unconnected and I think it’d be healthier if we all started disconnecting them in our heads.
