Clothing Tips! (based on my own mistakes)

Moths will eat your wool clothing. They are fast. In the off season put wool items in a plastic box. If you suspect there are moths in it already you can freeze it. Moth repellents and killers only work in enclosed spaces like sealed plastic boxes or bags. Cedar hangers do just about nothing.

If moths ate holes in your nice suits some places can repair them with a service called "reweaving" it's hard to find, though. For more casual items this is your chance to find some cute patches, or learn a weaving darning method. It'll make your sweaters more fashionable!

If you are cleaning your closet, and have clothing too worn out to donate don't forget you can make rags for cleaning. Also don't forget to harvest all the buttons and snaps and things from clothes before you toss them. You should NEVER have cause to buy store-bought buttons.

Pearls make every outfit look better for every gender.

Ordering clothing that's custom fit to be your exact size will do more to make you look good than any other kind of money you can spend on clothing. Perfect fit clothes just look amazing. If you can't afford to order custom clothes either make friends with a tailor or learn to sew.

I'm not kidding about the moths. They ate my husband's charles tyrwhitt light tweet suit and it was so tragic. I know they don't know any better, but I remain angry at the little fiends.
