luke castellan who’s normally pretty docile in camp (at least when all the other campers and counselors are around) but it’s when you happen to spot his pretty face easily in a crowd, noticing that stupid shit eating grin that’s only ever worn when you’re below him, crying from the relentless overstimulation, that you can feel your knees buckle, and maybe even a slight tensing of the muscles in your thighs. to you, it’s almost concerning how easily he can make your stomach do flips and have your thoughts consist of him and only him while you’re supposed to be helping the younger campers string their camp beads.

the very same concern wasn’t anywhere to be found when luke had you under him later that night. perhaps it drifted through the cracked-open window along with the rest of your thoughts, and the muggy air that inhabited the hermes cabin. no way in hell was there anything behind your eyes as luke dumbed you down. he made sure of it by letting his hips set their own pace. one that abused your inner walls and left arousal seeping out from under his dick, only to get fucked back in once he picked your thighs up and brought you even closer. luke hadn’t particularly explored the asphyxiation fetish you casually described while innocently picking strawberries one day, but what better moment to test the waters than right now?

the way that 99% of the major plot changes are at their core just hammering down the fact that this is a character driven story about a dysfunctional family is the most miserable build up to "family, Luke, you promised" because now we're talking about a 5-year arc that ALREADY includes

percy developing rightful anger at the absentee gods

medusa accurately describing the gods as monsters and the rest of them as victims

echidna, mother of monsters, nailing in that maybe their parents aren't actually the shit they think they are

percy outright telling annabeth "family isn't supposed to be like that"

annabeth AGREEING with this and acting upon it

to the point of convincing hephaestus, a god himself, that they should be different

and will POSSIBLY (we will know within a few weeks) include

percy and sally getting back at their abuser, prioritizing their family

percy going back home to his family for the school year despite the dangers

percy at the same time having a conflict about this because chb is also his family

annabeth going to her family too, despite their complications

& this is all in the span of one summer with 4 more to go so it is needless to say that I am SO NERVOUS.

everyone thinks the annabeth having a crush on luke storyline is insanity but honestly him treating her as a little sister while she develops a crush and then him later using that against her is very much villain behavior

it’s gross but very much him grabbing at anything to keep her on his side. he clocked the crush and used what he noticed to try and sway her to go along with him because he was well aware of his impact on her

it’s been a while since i’ve read the first couple of books but from what i remember her never behaves like he likes her romantically BUT will use that language in order to manipulate her and get inside her head which is him using the crush to his advantage

he doesn’t ever actually act on it? (right? bc i genuinely cannot remember)

anyway bottom line the whole point is he is manipulating her. he screams family but knows she’s young and knows he’s one of very very few male protector figures in her life so he can switch up the language because she’s confused. she doesn’t know exactly how she feels about luke other than love, this is HOW he can successfully manipulate her.

I think the show is very clearly planning on having Luke only ever view Annabeth as a younger sibling which has me smiling, grinning, jumping for joy, but I think they may also be getting rid of Annabeth's crush on him??? Which is just??

If the TV show will also include things outside of Percy’s POV (I saw Rick talking about how they added scenes that happen outside of Percy’s POV) then they better include some with Luke.

Show me scenes of him while Percy is gone on his quest and he is still at camp playing "mediator" to the other demigods. Show him struggling against Kronos! For the love of the gods show Luke writing in a worn out green diary that has someone else’s name on it!

Show him becoming seemingly more distant towards other campers. Show his struggle! I need more insight!
