Whole new game. #Yungmeng Jiang isn't a lawless land. It's just a land with different laws. #And one of those laws is to forcefully domesticate the catboy coded Lan boy through any means necessary. #Completely different tangent: I drew the thumbnail for this before I did comic 134. I then realized they had the same visual gag. #So I had to space this one out so it didn't seem like I repeated the waking up joke. I cannot shake my thoughts about this and I’ll know I’ll keep this drama close to my heart. The fact that Myung ha’s ‘sunbae’ opened the riff to the world with the question “would you change it for me?” Also the fact that Myung ha’s alternate universe/game world started with the sound of an ocean tells already a lot about it but we won’t know until Episode 8 why. Throughout the series we watched Myung ha doing everything in his power to make Yeo woon happy while he himself couldn’t rely, couldn’t trust, couldn’t open himself up to him. We know the phrase of his ex gf “you don’t know how to love anyone.” left a deep scar in his soul which he carried with to the alternate universe/game. I try to think the system errors which occurred during the game was a way to change Myung ha’s mindset to not make the same mistakes and/or go on with his habitual habits he did in his life before he drowned himself. Also the different tasks was it actually for Myung ha to realize that he’s the one who makes Yeo-woon happy (which he didn’t). He retreated himself from Yeo woon because he couldn’t choose between the most important persons in his life as we saw his grandma died in real life which makes me think if he also knew that because in one sequence in the game/au it asked him if he wants to bring back some memories of Myung ha’s life. Also the last I love you from Yeo woon was the cherry on top to let the system completely crash where he distanced himself from Yeo woon. “I want to spend my remaining time making Yeo woon happy as best as I can. But it seems the more I try, the more unhappy I make Yeo-woon.” Which Myung ha remembers what Yeo-woon said: “whenever I see you, I both feel good and want to cry. I feel so much about every little thing. But I’m not happy at all right now.” Which again I try to think it is about why Myung ha doesn’t rely more on him? Why he doesn’t open himself up to him? A relationship is based off of trust, give and take… etc. but Myung ha goes into this relationship with deep rooted traumas which causes lack of self love. If one loves not itself enough how can they expect to love someone else which what explains Myung ha’s last phrase in the same scene so much. “Why did I think I could make you happy?” It’s as if he doesn’t think that a loner like him could be the one to give him love and happiness. What follows after is that he choses Yeo woon’s happiness even if he’s not his happiness… which again brings me to the beginning where Myung ha thinks “but I prefer lonely supporting characters to happy protagonists.” In this case he’s the lonely supporting character to our happy protagonist Yeo-woon. “But being fated to live that kind of life… is just so unfair.” He knew/knows how cruel life can be so he chose his happiness over everything and got vanished from the game. He realized by now that Yeo-woon is/was more important than he wanted to admit. Yeo-woon is/was a glimpse of happiness in Myung ha’s life. What brings us to the tragic backstory of his life and how he lived. All the obstacles he endured and went through led to his drowning (at this point we saw Yeo-woon’s obstacles in the alternate universe/game at least in my opinion). This is the turning point for Myung ha. “I was hoping if you saw yourself from someone else’s perspective, you would learnt to love yourself. I thought if you learned to love someone, you would be a little happier.” I want to make a reference here to the title itself “Love for Love’s sake” because all the sacrifices he did and cared more for others than himself… but he found happiness. In Yeo-woon. And he chose his own happiness for once. It’s the way he chooses all these things for himself, to open himself up for him, to rely and be cared for. “It would be nice to have someone. Someone who cares by my side. Someone who gives me chances when I fail and feel hopeless. It would be nice to have someone who always gives me love.” Which they found both in each other.

(Also maybe not the best picked characters for immediately post purgatory but I'm soft on morning crew - five man definition - so shoot me)

High in the sky, Philza finally dares open his wings. Everyone is already thrown up, why not give himself a moment to glide down? To feel the wind again, to taste the sky again, for one more moment to be truly free.

After all these months his feathers have grown back and his bones have healed, and finally he can twist and soar in the air once more. He does not just glide - he spins and he laughs and for a long moment he is truly free once again.

The others watch in awe, or do not notice too worried with saving themselves.

People are watching; if he wishes to keep his wings, he cannot use them, this he has long known.

Slowly, reluctantly he descends, rejoining his people on the ground and accepting their joy to lift him in a different way and once more.

Less than fourty eight hours later, Philza awakens on the floor of a train to the smell of blood and already screaming in pain. His head is in a sobbing Tubbo's lap, while many hands press against his back - his wings - and chaos reigns around them.

"Phil?" Tubbo's shaky question.

Philza cannot find it in himself to speak; he gives a sob and a chip and hopes it's enough - he knows what this is, he knows what this is, it might be Tubbo with him now, where it was Wilbur before, but it's all the same again.

"Stay with us, big boy," it's Fit who speaks next, from somewhere behind Philza.

He hates the idea; he fights the darkness anyway, because fuck it at this point.

A door opens, there's a shift from some of the hands on his back and a hiss that sounds a little like Cellbit, echoed like someone else is joining in - the door closes and the footsteps which tried to enter leave.

"We're nearly at the station," it's a softer and less familiar voice that speaks next - not one of the other people at his back, but over by the window. Pac, perhaps, though Philza's brain is shaky. "If my bag is there, there are potions."

"If they are not, they are shits," Etoiles is more obvious, sharper. "Make him bleeding on the train? They are the worst. Do they also want to be the worst shit?"

The words manage to draw a bubble of laughter from Philza, who shakily reaches out an arm to his friend. Etoiles takes it, intertwines their fingers, and looks ready to rant all over again.

"It's fine, mate," Philza gasps slightly at the pain of speaking, his head falling heavier onto Tubbo's lap. "Fuckers did it last time, too; nobody even had potions then."

He can almost feel Fit's eyes narrow on him, but ignores it anyway; instead he listens with half a brain to the sound of Etoiles voice as he rants, even angrier than his previous one would have been.

Why I revoiced Kaidan for Cary Interactions

  So, I didn't really want to bring this up as I feel almost, foolish, I guess, I'm not sure of the right word. This isn't something I wanted to bring up, but I've been hearing confusions at to why I hired a new VA to voice Kaidan in the Caryalind interactions and people talking about me because I would revoice Dan. I will place a TLDR at the end of this post for those that don't want to read the whole thing. But I do hope to make this mostly quick as the whole situation makes me icky and don't want to type about it for too long.

   Originally, I made the Caryalind interactions through spliced dialogue. However, after some thought, decided that there's a chance it could be like AI voice acting and didn't seem fair keeping it up unless I got Dan's blessing. Seeing as this dialogue was made with old dialogue, I didn't see a reason to email the EE team and just Dan for a simple "Can I use this since it's your voice?" (I also know the EE team doesn't like me and I feared I wouldn't get a response from them.)

   After a few days with no response from Dan, I got the lines revoiced. It wasn't until after talks of an entire revoice came up that I got an email back from Dan stating that he owns Kaidan's IP and dialogue and that I was infringing on his copyright by revocing the spliced dialogue. After receiving the email I asked him if he could clarify which lines are his so that I could make sure I wasn't using any, in which he clarified that he is "the voice of Kaidan in a literal and legal sense."

   This threat hung around for a week until someone was able to talk to Dan about the situation. While I never heard back from Dan, I did get confirmation that my interactions were in the clear.

   In all honesty, this situation really has ruined Kaidan alot for me. But since the character was such a big part of how I experienced Skyrim, I don't want to give up on the character.

   Due to all this, and that he isn't open to being hired outside of the EE team, I rather not work with Dan as he's made me super uncomfortable with this situation and the legal threat.

   I'm sorry about posting this, I really didn't want to. But I've been told my name is being dragged about for not messaging the EE team and not wanting to work with Dan. I feel icky, and stupid, and... I'm not sure. This situation did leave me scared for a bit as I'm just a college student. I'm 23. I don't know about all this legal stuff. But I'm thankful I had friends to help me get through it and give advice. If I didn't, I don't what I would have done about Dan intimidating me with this...

   Sorry once again... I hope this clears some things up.

   TLDR; I didn't message EE team because the email I sent was about old lines and none of their work, and I don't feel comfortable working with Dan because he sent me a legal threat.

I made a moanability chart, because enstars sex linguistics has taken over my brain, I guess.

It's all in order, so someone closer to the left will have a more moanable name than someone to the right, but it got kinda hard to choose the lower down the chart I got...

Analysis under the cut!

I did check the IPA to see if there were any consistent patterns with what was deemed moanable/unmoanable, but for the most part there wasn't much.

One thing I did notice, however, was that names featuring velar plosives (and, I feel, velar sounds in general), regularly fall on the lower end of the scale. That would be sounds such as "K" and "G", so the highest one here would be "Kaoru", who is at the very end of the "Pretty Moanable" category. The rest are all lower, with a few ("Kuro", "Koga") at "Average Moanability", and the rest all at "A Little Moanable" or lower ("Kanata", "Makoto", "Mika", etc). The trend seems to be that "K"s at the start of the name are more moanable than names with "K"s in the middle.

I've already spoken about Mao and Tatsumi's names briefly here, so I won't repeat myself in this post.

Hokuto is in second to last place because the glottal fricative is very easy to ignore and miss out entirely (resulting in many dialects that all but eliminate the sound in casual speech), and the "U" sound - surrounded by TWO plosives!!! - it very easy to bastardise into a schwa sound. So you could, in theory, make it more moanable, but by doing so you'd be mispronouncing his name a bit and so it doesn't count.

Rei is in second place because - similarly to Mao - his name has some very pleasantly cyclical mouth movements. The main difference is that the sounds in Mao's name have more of a commitment to them that the sounds in Rei's name don't ("M" is solid and hard to mispronounce, whereas "R" is vague and kinda floaty). You start off at a moderately neutral "R", move slightly larger to make the "E" sound, and then slowly narrow and widen your lips for the "I", and you can go back to the "R" again from there quite neatly.

As a last main point, I will say that while a lot of the names lower down do lose out on moanability, they do have a fair bit of whineability! (E.g. "Tatsumi", "Niki", "Natsume", etc)

If anyone wants me to elaborate on any positions here or otherwise wants to discuss this, my ask box is open, and I'm willing to talk about sex and linguistics to anyone who will listen. <3
