"no- i really don't understand this part" you quickly changing the subject

and your reflex was to get away from him, resulting to you falling off the chair
"woah im sorry! you okay?" he went to help you get up, resulting you to slide away from his touch
"i- im okay!" you said, avoiding him

once again thinking about Hey Melissa because this story lives in my brain like a little worm that wants to slowly kill me. anyway I've thought of exactly what changes I think would've made the story work better in my opinion so uhh here's my Hey Melissa script doctor I guess djskfjdsk
cut Paul's dog story. I get what the intention was, it's meant to be a full-circle thing at the end, but I just don't think it works the way it was meant to. it muddies the story too much and makes Melissa's motivation more complicated than it needs to be. if in every timeline she's trying to kidnap Paul to keep him as a dog (and she hates and kills dogs), why is this framed as her breaking point? why does she like him at all? and why does him just meowing convince her? cut all that, simplify it. Paul's a cat from the start. give her little club a bit of a clearer and simpler base logic: men they hate are kept as dogs, men they like are kept as cats. Melissa's been wanting a cat for so long, and she's had her eyes on Paul, and she's finally got him where she wants him.
Paul still denies that he's as good of a person as Melissa thinks he is, but instead of telling the dog story, have him just. lose his temper and be kind of a dick to her. he wanted to let her down easy, but she just keeps pushing. goddammit Melissa, he'd like you more if you'd drop this. he's made it clear he's not interested. she's not his type, he doesn't like the things she does. they're not compatible. and he's dating Emma right now anyway. can she please just let this go and stop pestering him so they can at least stay friends? Melissa's clearly upset, barely holding back tears, but says she understands. Paul now feels guilty, asks if there's anything he can do. Melissa asks him to feed her dog. the dog is Ted, and Melissa knocks Paul out. Paul wakes in the cage, afraid he's going to be defingered like Ted, but Melissa assures him no, she would never declaw a cat. Ted's a dog, see, he's a nasty, filthy dog pretending to be a man, he needed to be taken off the streets to keep everyone else safe. but Paul? Paul's a sweet kitty who's just confused and thinks he's a man, thinks he knows what he wants, thinks he's happy. thinks he doesn't like her back. he broke her heart, but that's okay, he's just a feral cat who doesn't understand that he's safe with her. he bit and scratched her because he doesn't know what love really is. he just needs to be trained and socialized. in time he'll understand that all Melissa wants is to love him, and he'll come to love her, too.
add like. one scene or moment to ground the tone and force the viewer to sit in how horrific this would actually be. one mention of Ted's wounds being infected, or the guys being cold and malnourished. just like, a single line, or a brief exchange between Ted and Paul would be enough. keep it light and absurd the whole rest of the time, but one moment that takes the situation more seriously would add a lot, I think.
have Emma bitch Melissa out after their exchange. do not have her just walk away crying, let her get MAD. let her rip into this freak who's boasting about having stolen her guy. who does Melissa think she is?? someone who deserves a cup of milk to the face, Emma thinks. it's full of spit, by the way. fuck you. and fuck Paul. you assholes deserve each other. and Emma starts crying then, at the end if her rant, and realizes she's. a lot more hurt than mad, actually. more hurt than she'd expect to be about Paul. fuck, she'd thought there was something special about him. but he's just another asshole. and then she storms out crying.
foreshadow Paul's decision to stay with Melissa. one moment of him starting to kind of like being here. she's scratching his chin, or petting his hair or something, and he's enjoying it a little. has to snap himself out of it, like he forgot for a moment that this is a waking nightmare. would give the ending more of an ambiguous terror, that maybe it's not just the bump on his head, and there was something in him that was being won over, because we saw it.
at the end Paul apologizes to Melissa for breaking her heart, thanks her for being patient with him. he always wanted to be a good man, but he never believed he was. but Melissa believed he was a good cat, and now he is. she made him what he could never be on his own. and to make up for hurting her, he'll be hers until he dies.

*Summary: Colt happened to overhear that there was a gift exchange. What will he do to get involved when he hears a member of the lighting crew shit talking someone else on staff?

“Ah damn.” Colt’s ears perked up as he overheard one of the lighting guys. He was in between scenes right now and he had another two hours of sitting on set before they’d actually need him for the day. So he did what came naturally to him, snoop.
“What?” The other guy asked, not looking up from the lights he was tweaking
“You know that one PA?”
“There’s a lot of them on set.” The other man rolled his eyes
“The one that hardly talks to anyone, and if she does she covers her mouth with that stupid clipboard she has?”
“Oh that frigid bitch.” His friend laughed. Colt raised an eyebrow. He knew the production assistant that they were talking about. He’d never had a problem with her in the past, and honestly she was probably the nicest member to him. She’d always make sure that he had enough time in between scenes to run to the craft table when he needed some coffee. 
“Yeah, her. So I got her for the stupid secret santa. Wanna trade?”
“Hell no. You think I want that bitch who sucked a cock to get her job?”
“Well I don’t want her either, and no one else in lighting fucking wants her.”
“Did you ask the prop department? Someone in there might be desperate enough…”
“I’ll take her.” Colt, who up until then had been silently listening made a couple strides across the way, “I’ll take her for the gift exchange or… whatever.”
“Okay.” The first guy looked him up and down, “Who are you anyway?”
“I’m the stunt guy.” Colt nodded
“Fine. Here. Give me your sheet.” The guy held his hand out
“What sheet?”
“The secret santa sheet.” He rolled his eyes, “Did you even sign up?’ “Yeah. It’s just… in my car.” Colt slid away for a second and pulled a sheet of paper out of a script someone left around. He copied the general format, and wrote down a bullshit name. He strided back in and handed it off to the guy, “There.”
“Thanks.” He looked over it for a second before a runner came and started screaming about how the director needed everyone in lighting over at the other lot. Colt took a look at the sheet that he had tucked in his pocket so as not to get the two confused. He frowned a little bit as he saw how little she wrote. A woman of few words, he guessed. If he was going to get her something she’d like as a thank you for all the coffee breaks on set, he’d have to continue snooping. He looked down at his watch and hurried to the set where his next scene was. She was probably setting up there.

Sure enough, he found her pointing directions out to other members of the crew. He could hardly hear her and he was only about 10 feet away. Maybe his eardrums were just shot to hell being next to explosions? He shook his head and walked over to her. He gave her a quick nod. Without missing a beat she quietly said,
“You’re early. You’re never on set early.”
“Yeah. But I’m on time.”
“Last time you were two minutes late.” She looks down at her phone. He sees the music banner on her screen and asked,
“What are you listening to?” He was fishing, but maybe that would give him some ideas about what to get her
“Nothing.” She looked at him, a bit confused. “I was listening to something on my commute.”
“Oh yeah?” He leaned against a cart, only for it to move out from under him. He tipped over slightly before catching his balance and giving her a thumbs up. “That could’ve been bad.”
“Don’t get injured.” She replied. That was nice of her. “Our insurance won’t cover it.”
“Ouch.” He laughed, “I mean you’re probably right.”
“Not probably. I am right.” She sighed, “I appreciate your company, but I really need to finish setting up for the scene… Mark will be mad if I don’t.”
“First name basis with the director?’
She sighed again, even more exhausted, “Listen if those… guys from VFX sent you to spy on me. I swear I’ve never done anything immoral to keep my job… I just come to set, do my job and go home.”
“No that’s not why I’m here…” He tried to explain, but how could he without giving away that he was trying to get her something? “I’ll just… sit over there.”
“Thank you.” Her shoulders loosened up as he sat quietly in the corner of the studio. Other members of the crew filtered in, then the actors paraded in. She started talking with the star about some rewrites the writers had come up with and guided them through it. He crept closer to listen in, given that it might change his performance too. She raised an eyebrow as she saw him move into her line of sight, but decided to not do anything about it until one of the actors piped up about the intrusion. Surprisingly, no one said anything and they got to work filming. The director guided both Colt and the man he was doubling for on how to perform the stunt correctly, the angle and distance the camera would be to ensure no one saw the switch between the two. Colt nodded along as if he were paying attention and his eyes darted back to the PA. She looked to be underlining the script with due diligence.
“And action!”
Colt watched the scene until it was his time to step in. It was a basic fight scene with a fall, easy enough. He landed on the mat perfectly and rested on it for a moment, waiting for his back to crack as he pushed into the plush pad. When he got up he walked back over to behind the camera, seeing her with her teeth pressed down into her lips.
“You okay?” He asked her
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
“You want some coffee?” He asked in a way that wasn’t really a suggestion. She nodded and he guided her outside the studio. When she knew no one was looking at her she started to sob. Something in Colt’s heart broke seeing her completely shatter that he took her into his arms and held her. She seemed a bit confused by the gesture but wrapped her arms around his and cried. After a couple heaves and a tear stained shirt, he asked, “You want to talk about it?”
“I… sorry this shoot’s been a lot. Doesn’t help that Mark is fucking asshole.”
“Yeah.” He never noticed it, but the director was kind of a raging asshole when he thought about it. “The shoot’s done for the day, right?”
“Yeah.” She sighed, trying to regain her composure
“Why don’t I take you home?’
“Okay,” she said with a little grin. It wasn’t a date, per say. Colt considered it a mission to find out more about her when no one else on set seemed to care. He just knew when he saw something in her house it would click like that.

At the Christmas party, Colt was eager to give her her present. He’d grown to really like her and he noticed her more on set. There was some kind of change in her that he couldn’t quite put his finger on. People talked behind her back still, but it was less about her being cold and her being ‘bossy’. Colt shrugged it all off because at the end of the day it really didn’t matter to him. His head kept turning instinctively towards the door every time someone came in, but she was nowhere to be seen. He almost decided to go home when he saw her walk in. Her hair was styled, but the curls were mostly deflated as she played with the ends at her shoulder. He waved at her and she caught his gaze, practically running over to him.
“Hi! So sorry I’m late,” she started to apologize to him, “I know I said I’d be on time…”
“It’s okay.” He smiled
“I just had to make sure my boyfriend, Nick… well he texted me that he had a flat tire…” She explained. Colt’s smile faded. He tried to pretend to be happy for her sake, but he hid the box behind his back.
“Is he okay?” He asked. It was polite, if a bit disinterested
“Yeah, he’s fine. He’s parking my car now.” She replied, looking over her shoulder
“That’s good. Glad you’re alright.”
“Thanks.” She smiled back at him. “Oh there he is.”
“I should let you go then…” He hesitated
“No, you two should meet, I think you’d really like him!” She pulled him over. “Hey hon.”
“There you are.” The other man pressed his lips onto her cheek once, then again on the other side. She hugged him tightly. It wasn’t personal, but Colt couldn’t help but see it as a reminder that she wasn’t his. From the looks of it, she’d never be his. After she pulled out of his reach, she turned to face Colt. She gestured towards her friend on set,
“Hon, this is Colt.”
“Nice to meet you.” Her boyfriend smiled back at him. He looked like he was in another world… Colt really couldn’t blame him. He held his hand out and Colt shook it loosely
“You as well,” He replied. He didn’t have much else to say to her boyfriend but he tried his best to keep a conversation going between the two of them while she went to grab a drink. She managed to find the person on the crew who she was Santa for and gave her her gift. They shared a quick hug and she came back to the two.
“I guess I should tell you, I was your Santa.” Colt rubbed at the back of his neck with his free hand
“Oh!” She smiled, “Thank you. I’m sure whatever you got me is nice. You don’t have to give it to me right now if you don’t want to.”
“Yeah, I seemed to misplace it…” He acted like he dropped it when he went to get a drink, but really he left it on the table everyone had discarded their presents on. “I was just gonna head out then. I’m all partied out.”
“Oh. Okay.” She nodded, “I get that… Let me see if I can find my present before you go though. I’ll just hold onto it.”
“Okay.” He smiled at her as she went to find his present. Sure enough, she found the little box and she brought it back with her
“I can’t wait to open it later.” She smiled as she held it between the palms of her hands
“Yeah, I hope you like it.” His words seemed to deflate as they left his lips. He turned around and left the party. He sat in his truck for a moment before riding home alone.

The next day that they needed him on set, production had promised it would be his last. He came in with thoughts running through his head. Would she be mad at him? Would she scream ‘how could you give me this’? He wasn’t sure how she’d react. Maybe he didn’t really know her enough to have wanted to ask her for a kiss. He walked into the studio and it felt like nothing had changed. He followed her directions, the scene was shot and it was time to go home. Before he could though, he felt a tug on his shirt sleeve from behind him.
“Hey.” She said
“Hi.” He replied
“I…”
“Listen. I’m sorry about my gift. I just thought that we were getting really close. And I was gonna ask you that night for a kiss.”
“I’m sorry.” She bit her lip, “We’d just gotten together a couple days before the party.”
“Oh.” His heart broke even more. “He seemed really nice though. I hope you’re happy.”
“I am now.” She nodded, “I… don’t think I would have been able to talk to him if we hadn’t met.”
“Oh.”
“That’s to say… I feel like I owe you something.”
“Whatever it is, let’s just call it even,” he took her hand off of him
“No I mean… Colt.”
“Yeah?”
“Maybe… maybe it could have worked out.” She said after a moment of silence lingered in between them. She leaned in and pressed her lips onto his. He pulled away from her and looked at her. He had to walk away otherwise he’d never be able to live with the feeling in his chest of tearing her away from her happy ending. He dryly laughed and said,
“Well at least we weren’t under the mistleto…” She pulled the gift box from out of her pocket and held it out for him to see. He turned his back on her and walked away. She didn’t try to chase after him. Maybe they were better off this way after all.

-Hey, there you are!- Chan’s voice reached your ears in a light yet excited tone, a bit out of breath, as he ran to you: his curly hair was a bit damp and he was carrying a duffle bag besides his school bag. He dropped both on the ground and welcomed you in a rushed hug. That morning he asked you to meet after his soccer practice, though he arrived a bit later than expected.
You smiled at him, your eyes carefully scanning his whole image, still trying to understand why he wanted to meet in such an odd place, and why he didn’t want to wait for the following day to talk. You saw each other every single day, anyway.
-So, about that… about this…uhm…- he started blurting out, clearly looking like he was trying to follow a specific script his mind wasn’t able to find
-Find your own words, Chan, it’s okay.- you giggled, resting your hand on his arm while his eyes were messily wandering from one point to another. 
The moment he was sure he calmed down enough to start talking, you both got startled from the sudden presence of one of his teammates.
-Hey, Chan! We were looking for you anywhere, where the hell did you run to, dude? Let’s go eat something? The others are waiting for…-his words slowly died on his lips when he realised what, more like who, he was in front of.
-Oh…- he couldn’t say anything else, an embarrassed smile on his lips as he looked at you, and then at Chan before quickly walking away.
-What was that just now?- you looked at the other guy walking away before looking back at Chan. Or better, looking back at where Chan was supposed to be.
He ran away in the opposite direction as his teammate, also bringing his two bags with him. He was quite far away already but he was able to scream a rushed “See you tomorrow!” while waving bye at you.
You were deeply  confused by…whatever had happened, but you had to admit that was a hilarious scene. Yet, it brought no conclusions at all.

Days had passed. And Chan kept asking you to meet, once right after class ended but it started raining so bad you both decided to go home and apologise to each other via text message; once during lunch break, but your professor assigned you some tasks and you found yourself running errands from one point to the other of the whole building, and once again- you apologised to him via text, promising yourself you would have brought him a chocolate snack the following day. 
It felt incredible, at that point, how the two of you were always interrupted and how it took Chan nearly two weeks to finally talk to you in private. No interruptions, no distractions.
It was a sunny afternoon and class finally ended. You were getting your bag ready to walk home but as you left your class, you suddenly felt a warm hand grab your arm. It was, obviously, Chan but he seemed a bit quiet and serious, or too lost in his thoughts.
-Chan, uh, hello to you, too?- you commented, with a bit of sarcasm in your voice, while your eyes were able to simply catch the image of him and his short, brown curls, and his back covered in a white shirt walking in front of you. 
You walked for a few minutes and you found yourself in the big garden right behind the library. Silence flooded the space between the two of you, some birds chirping in the distance, a light breeze brushing through your figures. 
Chan was in front of you, his ears were cutely painted in a red colour and his eyes weren’t brave enough to directly look you in the eyes. His hands let go of your arm at that point, and were now frantically rubbing on his black jeans. The way he was quite nervous didn’t even make you realise how much affection your eyes were full of while looking at him.
-Hey.- you tried to somehow calm him down, your hand trying to stop his -you might ruin them if you keep going like that!- you laughed.
You really wanted to make him feel a bit calmer, you knew him for quite some time already, yet you never saw him that nervous. You couldn’t know, though, that all that nervousness was because of you.
-Uhm, yeah yeah I’m fine. So…- he began, his eyes wandering from yours to your hair, your shirt, your hand holding his, and once again your eyes. -I’m sorry this might be the tenth time already but it was getting ridiculous at this point, and everything seemed to interrupt me whenever I tried to do something, and you’re always so nice to me and I never saw you getting mad over all this, and you… you have really pretty eyes and your... you, you’re amazing and I always felt so comfortable with you and… I really, genuinely mean this and… gosh, I didn't even ask if you had something to do now and…- he started to blurt out a series of disconnected words, gradually getting more and more frustrated at how hard it was getting for him to express himself. 
Your eyes never let go of his gaze, the same way your hand never let go of his, and you lightly squeezed it, silently trying to encourage him to take a few seconds and talk, as you clearly wanted to know whatever he was trying to tell you.
You didn’t expect, though, those sudden gentle, trembling words leaving his lips.
-I… I love you, dammit.- he mumbled, his cheeks looking tremendously on fire as well as his ears, that he was now trying to cover with his hand. His eyes suddenly looked at you with deep intensity, and you were found at a loss of words. Your heart skipped a beat and you didn’t even register the way you grabbed his hands and drew him closer to you, so your lips could gently brush against his in a shy, yet excited gentle kiss. 
You heard him gasp before one of his hands slowly rested on your warm cheek, fireworks sparkling in the hearts of both of you as you shared such a soft, precious moment together.

Summary:  Y/N and the Winchester brothers are on the trail of a mysterious werewolf, but who knows where this may lead them? Another successfull hunt or a more serious mess?
Everyone around got their phone out to capture the action scene, making it hard to see through the various moving phone flashes. But it didn’t matter at the moment. As I saw his glowing eyes looking directly at me, nearly piercing through my soul, panic took over my body and I froze completely. Everything was blurring around me.“Y/N! I’m here, get behind me!” screamed Dean as I felt his hand on my shoulder before putting himself between the werewolf and I. Shots were fired. “Son of a bitch!” Dean, who always was a bullseye, missed every single shot because of the lights. Thankfully, none touched the people around.  I tried to gather my courage as best as I could, I would not let those people get in harm's way. But I was scared to miss and hurt people around me. My hands were trembling, making my gun waddling weirdly in the air. Such a hunter, Y/N…I was thankful that everyone here thought it was a crappy animation and not a real attack, we didn’t need a panicked crowd around. The werewolf tripped over something but kept running toward us. Weirdly enough, the werewolf wasn’t as fast as the last time we saw him and he seemed to ignore everyone around. Maybe the silver bullets still had an effect on him? Or maybe was he only there to finish us off? With the poor lighting of the room and the moving lights, it was quite hard to see him properly, apart from his glowing eyes. I saw someone moving out of the corner of my eyes.
It was Sam, who took advantage of the apparent focus the werewolf had on Dean and I to prepare himself on the side. Before jumping on us, the werewolf howled again and moved his paws like a demented. He was in mid air when Sam jumped at him and made him fall to the floor by charging him by the left side. At each action, the ‘public’ was cheering. The werewolf managed to throw Sam by yanking him by his arm and quickly got up. “Sammy!” Sam got to his feet rapidly and took his gun that landed on the floor. While the same move seemed to cost the werewolf loads of energy. When he finally got up, he tried to throw a clawed punch at Sam but Dean was faster and tried to hit him. But the werewolf, or should I say Joe, avoided his punch and pushed him harshly on the side with a sickening sound. “Dean!” Dean must have hit his head in the fall because he wasn’t moving. I ran to join and protect him. “Dean, you okay?” I nearly screamed while looking at his face. His eyes fluttered open and he slowly nodded his head. I was so relieved that I could almost forget the immediate danger. Sam tried to shoot it but missed because of the flashes moving around. This attempt seemed to anger Joe further as his growls became louder. 
Suddenly, the werewolf must have remembered Dean and I because his head snapped in our direction, ignoring Sam as if he wasn’t there at all. He jumped at us again, threw me to the floor and went to try to maul Dean with his paw. Adrenaline suddenly activated in my body and without thinking, I got up and jumped on the creature with a silver dagger. “Y/N!” screamed Sam and Dean in unison. The cheers were deafening but I had a mission. I was already tackling the guy on the floor. I put my whole weight on his torso and was about to stab him. “Don’t you dare touch him, son of a bitch!” I nearly growled. The werewolf jolted in panic.“Hey guys! Chill! It wasn’t even in the script!” I heard a muffled voice say. Sam, Dean and I looked at each other and confusion could be read on each of our faces. “Just pretend to kill me, people will cheer and we can go about our day. Deal?” added the fake werewolf.
The light went on again and the room exploded in applause. Now that I was closer and had proper light, I saw that the costume was not of high quality. The guy got up and left without any other word. I turned to Dean and Sam to make sure that they were okay but they were surrounded by a crowd. That’s when I saw him,Joe, in the back. He flashed me an evil smile and headed toward the door that led outside. Without thinking I sprinted toward it. But I felt someone grab my arm. “Oh my god! You were amazing! I already told you, but you really have Y/N energy. The moment you protected ‘Dean’, goodness. I had goosebumps when you growled at the werewolf. You could be her in real life.” Oh, if only you knew sweetie. And a crowd quickly formed around me. I couldn’t even understand what they were saying. I was just nodding my head randomly. “I’m really sorry but I have to go. I’ll come back later!” I said as I freed myself from the crowd. I prayed to myself that this asshole was still there. I opened the door so violently that I nearly fell. I didn’t care about taking a risk. If he was there, I had to stop him, even if it killed me in the process.
 After a few minutes of thorough looking everywhere, I had to surrender. Then I heard the door opening behind me. As a reflex, I got my hand on my silver dagger. Then I heard her squeaky voice. Becky. “Hey! Y/N, you okay? You were amazing there, not as amazing as Sam, of course but you weren’t that bad either and…” I jumped and gripped her shoulders. “Who organized this animation, Becky?!” She was a bit surprised at my sudden move but answered me anyway. “I don’t know his real name, just his pseudonym, fullmoon67. I heard a few guys called him Jay or Joe, I can’t remember.” Of course a ridiculous name with an allusion to lycanthropy. “I barely talked to him. He said he wanted to be in charge of animation and I was relieved because I’m very busy as you know..” “Okay, Becky. I get it. Focus on the basics. What does he look like? Do you know the guy who played the werewolf or even where he is at the moment?” Her face twitched in concentration.”I always thought that you liked Dean, as implied in the book. It’s a surprise you’re looking for someone else.” I shot her a warning look to signify her that I was serious. “Okay. Sorry. The guy you’re looking for is in the backstage room for employees. Can you tell me what is happening?” I sighed and closed my eyes for a second. I really needed to find Dean and Sam but avoiding the crowd in the process would be difficult. Then, I had an idea. “Thank you Becky. I promise I’ll tell you everything later. Last question. Is there a way to access the employee’s room without going inside?” Her eyes lit up and she explained to me how to get there. I waved at her and ran away.
As I reached the employees room’s door, I tried to think of what I would say and do once inside. What if Joe was waiting for me inside? I was used to traps, by now. I took a breath, turned the door handle and decided to improvise from scratch. I was greeted by a somewhat tall brunette guy. For a moment, my heart almost jumped. It was like Ethan was here before my eyes. But then, the guy turned around and the memory faded instantly. “Hey!” greeted the guy. “Thanks for not killing me earlier.” He said with an awkward smile. “Sorry for that. I have a few questions for you,...” He understood that I waited for him to tell me his name. He brought a hand to his chest, where I tried to stab him not that long ago, and replied “Aiden.” “Okay. Aiden, who hired you for this animation?” He seemed to think for a moment and finally said “It was a tall guy, Joe something, I can’t remember his full name. He told me that he worked for a convention and was looking for an actor to play a werewolf for an animation and that it was well paid. I got the job and he told me that you and the two giant guys were my partners for the show and that I had to fake fight you. He said that you already had the script and that I just had to come out when the light went out and start the fight. Then I saw your reaction and I was ‘Well, guess we’ll improvise now’. So the fight went on.  But when I saw the pure hate you had in your eyes when you were above me, I understood that it wasn’t a fake fight anymore. I’m really sorry that you went into such a panic, but I guess it means that I am a good actor.” He said with a small smile. “Also I’m sorry for your boyfriend, didn’t mean to knock him out like that.” 
Was it this evident that I was in love with Dean? Then I realized that my reaction was a bit over the top when it happened. I felt my face growing warmer. “ Thank you Aiden. I’m sorry that I tried to kill you.” He smiled again, I could tell that he was sincere. “Don’t worry about it. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go take my paycheck and go to perform at a 10 years old boy’s birthday. Have a good day.” He said and waved at me. “Have a good day too.”  I then got out of the room. This son of a bitch was definitely toying with us. But why? He could have killed us a thousand times. Why put so much energy into such a plan? I had to find Dean and Sam as fast as I could.
To my relief, the crowd had disappeared and the brothers were talking in a corner. As I approached them, I saw Dean turned his head and practically ran to me. “Goddamn, Y/N! Where were you? Sam and I looked everywhere to find you!” I could see a slight mix between fear and panic on his face. Sam was not far behind him. Dean’s eyes were scanning my face. “I saw him.” Was all I said and Dean and Sam understood immediately. “Let’s get somewhere less crowded.” said Sam while taking the lead. We were interrupted in the process by several fans who were amazed by our performance. I was walking between Dean and Sam the whole time, as if they were afraid that Joe was still here. 
When we finally reached a kind of lounge room, I began to tell all the information I gathered. “When we were lost in the crowd, I saw him going inside the room, he smiled at me and went outside. I didn’t have the time to run after him because I was stopped. But then I sprinted  outside and no one was there. Then Becky told me that apparently Joe is one of the organizers of the convention in charge of animations. So I managed to find Aiden, the fake werewolf.” I was sure that I saw a hint of jealousy in Dean’s eyes but maybe it was just a figment of my imagination. I kept going. “He told me that Joe hired him to play the werewolf and also told him that we were fellow actors who already knew the script. That’s why Aiden was surprised when I almost stabbed him. Now the 1 million dollar question is why? Is he toying with us or something?” All the information seemed to sink in their minds.“Well, you were right about the trap but this guy is even more twisted than we initially thought. First a series of murders near Lebanon, then the trap with his son and now the fake werewolf… It’s a plan to attract our attention but why?” Asked Dean. I could see gears turning in his head. Sam’s face crunched in concentration and finally said “What if he took advantage of our scene to commit another gruesome crime?” This perspective was scarier because we weren’t able to save anyone if that was actually the case. “I hope not and that this son of a bitch enjoyed the show!” exclaimed Dean. “Drives me crazy to be some puppet into someone’s scheme.” he said while running his hands in his hair. I patted my hand on his shoulder and looked at him. “We’ll stop him, Dean. One way or another.” Sam seemed deep in thought while Dean put his hand over mine. The tension was so heavy in the room that I wanted to relieve it but I knew that it was pointless. Joe escaped us again and who knows what was next. Because it was sure that this wasn’t going to end that easily. “So, did you guys find anything while I was gone?” I asked, hopeful. “Nothing, just boring talks with people and Dean got a bunch of numbers.” said Sam with a sigh. By this time, Dean had his head in his hands. “Guys, the convention day is over, maybe we should head back to the motel and try to rest a little?” Dean lifted his head and looked at me. “You sure that it was just a day and not two?” I could feel that he was tired. “Yeah, I’m sure. Come on, we have to go.” Sam got up as well as Dean.
We tried to sneak discreetly but apparently Becky had a way to sense Sam from a mile away. She practically popped in front of us with Chuck next to her. Was she ever tired?.“Leaving so soon guys? Come on, stay a bit longer. Thank you so much for the show, we already got incredibles reviews on our page!” Then she seemed to remember something. “Y/N, you were supposed to tell me what you were doing here.” I decided to disguise the truth a bit. “We’re looking for a werewolf in San Francisco.” It wasn’t a total lie, just a less complicated and scary truth. “Oh! That’s so exciting! Are you going to write about it Chuck?” That’s the moment Dean appeared in the conversation. “About that, do you remember the promise you made us to not write anymore?” Remembrance seemed to hit Chuck. “W…Well I know. But do you guys know how hard it is to survive as an author? Plus, I wrote about the arrival of Y/N in your life to help you.” Something broke in me and I was about to jump on him. “So you’re the one who provoked Ethan’s death?! Do you know how hard it hurts?!” I felt a pure wave of violence and Dean tried to sooth me a little by placing himself next to me.
But it was useless. “Must admit that I got a bit lazy with a simple demon hunt but hey, it builds character” he said rather casually. I lost it. “I’m going to build you something! I don’t care who you are, I’m going to…” This time, Dean grabbed my shoulders to stop me from doing something I could regret. But how could this so-called author belittle my pain like that? Even though I was grateful to be with the Winchester, it didn’t justify that cost. My heart was thumping loudly in my ribcage.The anger was consuming me completely.To the point where Dean’s strength wasn’t enough to stop me completely so Sam joined him.
They managed to get me out of the place. By this time, I stopped struggling. ”Sam, go fetch Baby. I’m taking care of Y/N.” He said while throwing him the keys. He then turned to me and placed his hand under my chin to gently lift my head. “You should breathe a little.” whispered Dean in my ear. Usually, this proximity with him would help me but this time it didn’t. The chilly air of the night wasn’t enough to cool me down and tears threatened to fall. Then I felt a pair of strong arms around me, then all my anger began to fade slowly as his cologne and warmth filled my senses. All I felt was just sadness. “I know how much it hurts, believe me. But the most important thing is that you’re not alone, we’re here for you. I’m here for you.” He released me for a second to look me in the eyes. I could see all the feelings his green eyes were able to express without a single word. He looked like he was about to cry himself. I wouldn’t be able to fight tears if he ever cried.“Ethan would be glad to see that you are with people who love you, who would die for you if needed. That you have a family, as dysfunctional  as it is, but  a loving family. He would be proud of who you became: a fearless woman who can kick anyone’s ass and saves many lives on a daily basis. Don’t let assholes like Chuck get the better of you, they’re not worthy of your time. Now, look at me.” I once again lifted my eyes to look at him.
If I dared, I would forget about my fear of rejection and kiss him. But I could not let my feelings get in the way again and jeopardize my friendship with him. “It will always hurt. But with time, you’ll tend to only remember the good memories and cherish them. They’re gonna be the first you’ll think about when you’ll think of him, as if nothing bad ever happened. I know what I’m talking about. I know that Chuck could have made you run across us randomly instead of this, but we can’t change what happened. I learned it the hard way. I’m just glad that this demon didn’t kill you too and that you are here in front of me today.” He gently caressed my cheek with his calloused hand. We stayed like that for a few more moments but the roaring motor of Baby interrupted it. Dean helped me up and led me to the car. He exceptionally let Sam drive us to the motel.
Once in the car, Dean put my favorite mixtape on the radio just to lift my mood. The mixtape he gifted me a year ago while one of our binge watching nights. It contained some songs he couldn’t stand but that never failed to make me smile. “ Feelin’ better?” asked Sam, while throwing me a glance. I smiled a little. “Yes, thank you.” The whole drive was a happy one, filled with laughter. Even though the danger lurked, a little joy, as feeble as it was, couldn't hurt. Soon, without noticing it, we were back in the city. “So, do you guys want to eat something? I saw that a diner is near our motel. Maybe you could get some pie?” “Yeah, sure! And Y/N?” “Yeah?” “I’m watching you this time. Don’t even consider getting close to my pie.” I couldn’t help but laugh a little. This little white lie saved me earlier. “ I hope they have a pecan one and…” Dean interrupted himself. There were at our right a bunch of cop cars and an apparent crime scene in a dead end alley. “Do you think…?” I began. I didn’t need to finish my sentence, they understood. “Yeah, it’s possible. We’re gonna need our feds suits.” said Sam while driving to our motel. 
Timeskip
We parked the car and once out, we walked toward the cops who were there. Sam spoke first. “Agents Ford, Hamill and Fisher. We want to speak to the sheriff.” as we all showed our fake badges. The agent just nodded then turned on herself to lead us to the sheriff. The further we went, the more gruesome the crime scene looked. Blood splattered on the concrete and the walls. Various cops were looking around. The sheriff was looking through a number of miscellaneous papers and speaking at the time with a forensic agent. Then he noticed us. “Well, good evening, agents?” “Ford, Hamill and Fisher.” said Dean as we showed our badges again. It seemed to satisfy him. “Is the FBI really concerned about this kind of case?” he asked, lifting his hat a little. Dean had his confident smile on. “Well, this could be the pattern of the next Ted Bundy, so we have to investigate.” The sheriff nodded and he began to expose. “It seems like our victime is a 26 years old man. His ID indicates that his name is Aiden Barnett. His heart has been ripped out from his chest and he has massive lacerations on his face and upper body. We also found a paycheck with a name on it. The person who made it identify as Glen Kyle. The main problem is that Glen Kyle died many years ago.” Aiden… Utter horror overtook me. I could have saved him if I only knew. “Agent Fisher? Are you okay?” said the voice of the sheriff. It brought me back to reality. “Uh yeah, just tired.” When I threw a glance at Dean and Sam, I noticed that something seemed to trouble them as well. “If you’ll excuse us, we have to talk.” said Sam, without waiting for the sheriff’s answer and he took Dean and I both by the arm. Once we were alone he said “Glen.” Confusion was written all over Dean’s face. “Remember Madison’s nice werewolf neighbor? The one we had to kill in San Francisco a couple of years ago?” asked Sam. Then Dean’s eyes widened. “And that dead guy made a paycheck for Aiden, as Aiden the fake werewolf? This is getting crazier and crazier.”

Agent Elvis Bloopers, Part 2
Author’s note: So...I couldn’t resist making another one lol! I think maybe I could turn this into a series or something lol.
Ep. 1 (Part 2)
SCENE: The gallows. Elvis, Cece, and the others are tied up and being forced to listen to Manson’s ramblings. Suddenly, in the middle of Manson’s speech, Elvis starts twisting and turning in his chair in obvious discomfort.
M (in the middle of his monologue): Actually, pretty much everyone else gets drugs. Don’t forget to get drugs, everybody! Now, I know what you’re thinking, you’re worried you might not--
E (keeps twisting in discomfort): Stop this! Please, you gotta untie me!
M (confused, as he knows that’s not part of the script, but thinking Elvis is ad-libbing, he tries to go with it and starts to redo the line): Like I said, dude, you gotta join the family first. Now, I know what you’re thinking, you’re worried--
E (beginning to sweat, almost yelling): Dude, I’m fuckin’ serious here! I ain’t acting! Hurry up and untie me!
M: Uh...okay, sure dude.
After Manson finishes untying him, Elvis runs off the set like a maniac, with everybody giving confused looks. After a little while, the sound of a toilet flushing is heard offscreen and Elvis returns, smoothing his clothes and his hair in the process before he sits down again.
E: Ugh. Sorry, guys. I had way too much coffee and it started fighting those three fried PB& banana sandwiches I had for lunch. Okay, I’m all right now. Sorry!
C: Wait, did you say fried PB& banana sandwiches? Eeew.
E: Hey, don’t knock ‘em until you try ‘em.
Director (sighs before pinching the bridge of his nose): CUT! Okay, guys, I’m only gonna say this once: go to the bathroom before shooting, got it?!

SCENE: The big fight. Elvis, Cece and the others (minus Bobby Ray) have managed to escape and are now hacking away at Manson’s “family”. They then notice that despite their attacks, many of the cult members are still standing.
E: Huh. Well, that’s new.
C: They’re not going down! They’re like...hippie zombies--!
M: Even better! They’re so high they can’t feel a thing! It’s beautiful, man!
Cece reaches for her knife to stab one of the “zombies” behind her, but instead suddenly pulls out what looks like a large rubber chicken.
C: Huh? Wait, this isn’t mine!
She begins to laugh, followed by Elvis and the others.
Director: CUT! Alright, who replaced Cece’s knife with a rubber chicken?
Scatter begins laughing maniacally in the background.
Director: Ugh, Scatter! Really?! We don’t have time for practical jokes! All right, let’s reset! Wipe off the blood and let’s go again!
****
SCENE: Graceland. Elvis and Priscilla are sitting and watching his comeback special, with Priscilla cuddled up to Elvis on the couch. Priscilla’s supposed to lean over to kiss Elvis, but after the “action” call, nothing happens.
E: Uh...honey? You okay?
Elvis gently pokes Cilla’s shoulder and her cheek, before hearing a soft snore; he realizes she’s fallen asleep on him. 
E (laughs softly): Uh, maybe we should try this tomorrow.
****
SCENE: The bar. Cece’s enjoying a drink and talking with the Commander in the shadows.
C: He’s a big boy, he’ll be fine.
Co (speaking a little more slowly than usual): Well, not exactly. Maybe I’m underselling this a bit. The monkey--
The bartender interrupts
B: Hey, Don Corleone! Your Manhattan’s ready!
The Commander turns around and steps out of the shadows, already looking like he’s had a few drinks before unsteadily reaching for the next one.
Director: CUT! Look, save the alcohol for the end of the day, please!

and it won't matter how much the outdated but self proclaimed cool kids screech or cry or throw drama bombs or twist things or lie, we're going where we're fucking going, so if you guys just want to convert to an anti server now, just rip off the bandaid and get it over with.

some thoughts on st4 vol 2. read at your own risk:
i think the most disappointing thing about vol2 was that it just seemed like they were going through the motions of finishing all the setups from vol1. but nothing felt surprising or exciting because it was all so obvious
what was the purpose of a 2.5 hour finale? there were so many places they could’ve split that last episode and had a 10 episode season? and it’s not like anyone WASNT going to watch it all at once, it would’ve accomplished the exact same thing. im so confused why they didn’t split that last episode.
the pacing this whole season was just horrendous
i feel like they could’ve just ended the show. it seemed like everything was wrapping up and then at the last minute they were like “jk” so that they would have something to do for season 5. but it could’ve just ended there…
i felt literally 0 things about eddie’s death because it was so obvious that it was going to happen. like yeah it was sad because he was a fun and good character but it was so obvious that it was going to happen that i was just like. okay.
honestly i wish they’d actually had the guts to kill max. not because i don’t love her or because it would’ve even necessarily been a good storyline but just because it would have been *something* that happened. like i feel like literally nothing of consequence happened this season. at least if they’d had the balls to actually kill a main character then like… there would be actual stakes
the eleven stuff in the lab was SO BORING and it remained SO BORING. it’s unbelievable to me that nobody read that script and was like “hey guys are you sure we need to repeat the exact same information like seven times. i feel like people will get it the first time” i was honestly about to fucking fast forward through it. please why couldn’t that have been cut
i still think the 001 henry vecna character was lame and this didn’t change my opinion on that in any way
mike still sucks and i still don’t understand it. i can barely even articulate how mad i am because THAT IS NOT MY MIKE they fucking destroyed him. and for WHAT
the russia stuff was also still boring. even the hopper joyce kiss was just like ok yeah. but they barely interacted for the whole season like their whole romance this season was just like “trust us guys” based on development that happened in the last three seasons so that when they finally kissed it ended up just being sort of meh because they only had like 4 minutes of screentime together. like i can’t believe we built up to that for so long just for me to be like. okay.
i guess we weren’t going to find out why dr brenner was alive. i guess also there was going to be literally no purpose in bringing him back either. also why did he have to die so dramatically and for such a long scene when THE MAN DIED ALREADY IN THE SHOW. look i love matthew modine but seriously what was the point
literally can anyone tell me what the point of robin as a character is? and even more so what the point of her stupid love interest is??? she literally didn’t do anything. like. again i was just like WHO CARES
i guess lucas and max are cute still
the jock character also literally did nothing. he just was there to add some suspense in the lucas and max scene in the attic and then get knocked out and never appear on screen again? okay.
if they had really planned all this out then why didn’t they shoot some of those eleven flashbacks when mbb was still a little kid huh. instead of doing the weird uncanny valley cgi. it almost makes u think… that maybe…… they didn’t plan it all out…………
what is will doing as a character. seriously what did he do this season that impacted the plot in any way. we just got ANOTHER “i can feel him” speech to end the season like WE GET IT but can they give this poor kid something to *do* (please give me evil will. like not evil by choice but give me will villain era. it was hinted at so hard and then he still did nothing)
stancy gang… we neither won nor lost tonight. we didn’t win to the extent i was dreaming we would, but we also didn’t lose to the extent i was worried we would. the door is still open for stancy. that’s literally the only thought in my only brain cell that’s still hanging on to anything in this show.
i don’t even know what to think like what was the point of any of that.

got carried away writing a book review of the day of the doctor so here u go i guess
the episode itself is. fine I guess. there are some good moments & its fun seeing ten & eleven interact and there's some good angsting etc. like the episode is fairly solid even though it does that typical moffat retroactively-changing-massive-parts-of-canon thing that he liked doing. its not perfect but whatever, there are lots of good bits! The Novelisation. Is. Dare I Say Kinda Bad.
(also I should point out that this is written by steven moffat who was the showrunner and wrote the script for the episode like he should know what he's doing)
it starts off with the doctor narrating in a typical slightly silly pretentious fourth-wall breaking kinda thing and you're like okay this is sort of cool yup very eleven that feel like him. the narration switches between the doctor talking about himself in third person cos a) that's how books work and b) he's just Like That but will slip into first person in select moments to show he's getting caught up in remember events or his feelings and the idea is that you're reading it on psychic paper & it's being beamed into your head telepathically or whatever and that's cool!! that's a good idea!
HOWEVEr. there are three (mainly) versions of the doctor in the book the war doctor the tenth doctor and the eleventh. and YOUD THINK THEY JUST CALL THEM WAR DOCTOR TEN AND ELEVEN like normal people but noooooooo depending on whose pov you're in he gives them all silly nicknames based on how various characters perceive them which is really hard to follow, or just call all of the The Doctor, which is their name yeah but like ??? which one is talking???? you kinda have to guess sometimes??? added to that is that there are shapeshifters in this one so there's another layer of 'is this the real guy or the Copy Guy' as well as BAD WOLF being there (who isn't rose, its bad wolf, but it isn't her either because it's a sentient superweapon that's talking to him that just LOOKS like rose.), there's just all in all a lot of Multiple Versions Of The Same Few People which can be hard to keep track of. like it's just confusing to read sometimes. not too hard even if the endless silly nicknames for ten & eleven get annoying a bit.
and there's a bunch of inconsistencies too (and yes I know I know this is the who needs continuity show) between this and the episode and I guess moffat can do what he likes adapting his own stuff but he kinda missed out some good bits? doesn't even have the 'this is his grunge phase' line and some of the stuff that makes ten and eleven's dynamic so funny but has all these random extra scenes of kate lethbridge-stewart and osgood that are just ?????? we didn't need that there??? it wasn't reeeeally adding anything??? and in the episode ten and eleven cant see bad wolf/rose/the moment ar all but here they see it for a bit?? but like no reaction really from either of them even though ten at LEaST should have had a visceral moment of loss there or something. idk.
and then at the end where there's that curator guy who is tom baker and its kinda I think supposed to be ambiguous as to whether its really four or not or some kind of coincidence but in the book it's like 'ahah! i was really narrating as four all along!' but like how is that even possible sorry I know this is the time travel show but why is he there and what is the implication? i think it's cos 11 says 'oh I could retire and be a curator' and then four is all old n stuff and Is the curator but like???? he regenerated?? is this a ten/fourteen type situation of the far future like a decade before they came up with that and then why is four in 2013??? what?? idk did they just really really want tom baker in it?
and then there's more foreshadowing of peter capaldi as twelve and then ten says 'i don't want to go' again which you're supposed to find sad but is fitted in in the most awkward way possible like. he would not say that no one would have said that sentence just then sorry guys. the ending feels kinda rushed more so in the book cos the narrator (four?? eleven??? is literally Not Paying Attention to the last conversation and then there's a page that says HELP ME over a bunch of tally marks ?????? idk man????? also there's all this stuff in the comedic chapter interlude narration that's referring to 'chapter nine' 'stop trying to find chapter nine' is he just saying 'yeah ok the ninth doctor's not in this one sorry guys'???? i think so??
cos it starts with chapter eight which is the eighth doctor getting regenerated into the war doctor (a soldier in the time war, the very thing he was saying he'd never become) (more of Moffat retrospectively Majorly Altering Canon) which was uhm. quite the scene cos in the episode he chooses it?? but in the book it says he was forced to by the sisterhood of karn???? what???????????? if that's so then why isn't that made Very Clear in the episode???? girl what???? there's lots of references to classic who which is fun but then he goes and says 'oh yeah btw one and two were actually colourblind that's why 1963-69 was in black and white' like okay. that's a slightly stupid writing decision which every other author has managed to ignore because it doesn't matter that they were in black and white cos the show started airing IN THE SIXTIES you can accept the limitations of historical content into canon!! he did the exact same thing in twice upon a time when he made One make sexist jokes so he could point out how progressive the show was Now which actually backfires Majorly because it makes The Doctor sexist instead of making The White British Colonial Men Who Wrote It In 1960s England sexist like ausgnauhgnshansghn CMON! and on that note Why Is This STuff So Sexualised like????? there was no need to say that the doctor found clara pretty, or rose/bad wolf/the moment/whatever, ten ends up marrying queen Elizabeth I which is kinda funny ngl but some of the things eleven says about that! is so weird! and unnecessary! and theres the fuckinhnsaa scene with the comparing the size of the sonic screwdrivers which is SO BAD LIKE YUCKKKK WHAT WHY WOULD YOU PUT THAT IN THERE ITS A FAMILY SHOW DUDE and like all the women at some point have a Comment on their appearance except for maybe kate lethbridge-stewart but idk. ahjsajnsajnsan. ick. and moffat just changes canon around all the time! gallifrey is gone again! but not really! but now it's back for real! the hybrid! (still don't know what was up with that) the impossible girl! mels/melody/river song! why!
and like some of it was so good!! the three doctors who are all the same person but not the same person, and some of the character writing was really really good & the interactions between different regenerations and like i Knew sometimes when ten was speaking cos the way he reacts to his own issues is so predictable (good predictable. like he has A Way He Acts its fascinating) and how they talk to each other (themself) as a representation of what the doctor is always struggling with about the decisions he's made. and i love the 'time lord art is bigger on the inside' bit that's really cool & when the war doctor starts the calculations and then eleven can finish them cos its four hundred years later even though they're in the same room together, like that's cool! moffat understands how to use timey-wimey stuff in the time travel show and he does it very well, a lot more (and better) than russell t davies does. but i watch this episode and think what no i really like this one and then i think about it and There Are Problems!!

Why hasn’t he yet? (Ben mentions Britin getting a house) I highly doubt that will ever happen. I like the loft. Why is Justin so doubtful about it? See! Even Blondie knows the loft is better (ben says he needs to carry mikey in and justin says he wouldnt know what married people do) me and Justin are both gonna puke right now.’ ‘Why is Mike such a bitch? Also where the fuck is Hunter? Did he forget he has another kid? I will give my kidney up to get Brian and Justin back and not see this anymore’ Brian pops up on screen literally a second later ‘I’LL TAKE IT! They want to tear down the club for a gallery? Why is blondie making me feel like he regrets being back in Pittsburgh?’ And we are finally getting some Britin and he got all happy finally ‘MY BOYS! FINALLY! (Brian hugs Justin from behind) AHHHHHHHHH LOOK AT HIM ALL AFFECTIONATE AND SHIT! Wait he dropped out again? Of course Bri Bri wants him to go back to school. Man, where was this 20 years ago? I HATE MIKEY AND BEN in this season with a passion. Ugh. And then they go roping Justin into their nonsense.
Yeah Emmy being the Queer Guy is going to make a lot of uncomfortable commentary about that show given your brother is a fan. Remind him that the original version of the show was not what it is today (I definitely watched it back then too, I won't lie)
Also can we have your brother write a fic where Justin wants to open a gallery in place of Babylon and it's an enemies-to-lovers fic? OMG Justin got sent to conversion therapy, comes back this uptight version of himself, wants to take down the big bad gay club and meets Brian and...
LBR your brother, at this point, would do anything BriBri asked him. ;) including go back to college.
The how did I scene is everything. These are the moments we need to survive this awful season.

Okay, let's talk Netflix One Piece, spoilers below the cut.
Hard to sum up my thoughts, I guess... better than I expected before the second trailer came out, worse than after I got my hopes up? There were a lot of great moments, and a lot of very confusing choices.
Like, casting-wise Iñaki Godoy is great for the role, he really embodied Luffy very well. Same for Emily Rudd as Nami, that felt very natural.
The rest.... Eeehhhhh? Mixed feelings. They were mostly good, although Mackenyu felt like maybe 70% like Zoro? Jacob Gibson as Usopp was okay, but Usopp needs to feel more childish, at least IMO.
Sanji was fine. Less of a disgusting creep, which was nice. (On a similar note, points for not doing tons of fatphobic jokes about Alvida! She actually seemed like a cool villain!)
Funny that they kept Usopp's one-on-one fight with Chew but Hatchan vs. Zoro didn't make the cut, honestly I wish they sold Usopp's internal conflict in that fight better, that was one of the big scenes that originally sold me on his character in the manga. I also missed the Usopp Pirates as part of his characterization, I wouldn't have cut them.
Same with Rika bringing the rice-balls to Zoro in the bar instead of sneaking into the prison yard, that kinda reduced his character in those moments to "being nice to kids" instead of "respecting and reciprocating the effort and sacrifice of a major act of kindness".
The Baratie stuff was... Look, I understand the budget and time constraints that made them cut the Don Krieg fight, he's honestly not the most memorable villain, but those episodes got kinda boring? You could tell when they were padding because it was either "Zoro falls down a well" time or "Zoro is in a coma" time, and those moments fell pretty flat.
Actually speaking of, were there budgetary reasons why there was so little blood when Zoro got injured? Shouldn't be a big deal except they kept remarking on how much blood he was losing, made it more jarring when the script and the visuals didn't match up.
And little changes around the Arlong plot didn't work so well for me. Nami keeping her plan a secret from her sister and the village felt like a pretty good character decision tbh, she sold that self-blaming motive enough that it seemed right. The walk to Arlong Park happening before Nami failed to stop the villagers from doing an uprising was worse, that should have been her breaking point, when she couldn't stop her loved ones from sacrificing themselves. Not a big thing, but yeah. And Arlong hunting Luffy down and fighting him once before also detracted from that final conflict, because Luffy and the Straw-Hats can't really come off as punk-ass kid underdogs when everyone's already taking them seriously, Luffy kicking the door down doesn't mean as much when he's already being scrutinized.
Mostly the aesthetics were a decent blend of silly and gritty, although I would have leaned wackier in a lot of smaller parts. Like I said in another post, it takes serious skill to make characters yelling out their attack names come off as cool in live action, and they threaded that needle even when Buggy threw his crotch at people.
There were some fun choices too! Buggy stole the show, and I never found him all that interesting most of the time. Then again my One Piece OC is from a circus so maybe I'm biased towards certain aesthetics. I dunno, he was over the top in all the right ways. Somehow he came off as entertaining despite dressing like a Mad Max character trying to be the Joker.
Arlong was a good villain too actually! Different kind of hammy villain, but it was fun to watch him be a tough-guy shithead with those ridiculous prosthetics, felt like exactly the right amount of weird and silly.
I liked the more in-depth use of Kaya's mansion as a setting too, it was way more distinctive than just fighting some pirates on an island, and the dark of night made it very atmospheric- some great shots of Kuro's silhouette.
Tonally, it was mostly good! It was fun and silly in a lot of the right places, and the parts that fell the most flat were the ones that didn't have much levity or weirdness to them.
Speaking of... What the fuck did they do to my dude Garp! Look, I tried to go into that subplot with an open mind, but it felt kinda pointless at the end. First off, why is he so severe! Garp is a goofy meathead like Luffy! Why can't they let him be dumb and funny! It was so jarring to see him talking about strategy over a dramatic game of Go, same guy who falls asleep mid-fight and makes his men fix the wall he just busted through for dramatic effect. And it's because... He wants to stop Luffy from being a pirate and/or test him? Honestly who cares! I have no idea why that was what they chose to insert from out of canon instead of... I dunno, anything more relevant or interesting? Bringing in Smoker early as an actual nemesis? Buggy's quest for revenge with Alvida? Some bigger Baroque Works foreshadowing?
But overall, it did catch my emotions in a lot of great moments. Fun, heart-wrenching, exciting, dramatic, all the good stuff.

Okay, I'm five episodes in and certainly enjoying myself, but I am also incredibly frustrated, and distracted, and want this show to be so much better than it is and arghhh...!
I’m liveblogging The Winchesters as a Supernatural!virgin. Please keep my lack of knowledge in mind if you continue...
In episode thoughts:
Hey, X-Files. So X-Files. What is it with episodes calling back to other shows? Is it intentional?
ADA YOU ARE SO SUS.
Ah, at least this time she has a reason to be suspicious. Somehow I’m not buying that she’s only sus to protect her son. I think she got the son by being sus. In another show, I think Ada would be the example of darkness that John and Mary would need to turn back from, but here I feel like she’s just… par for the course.
This makes me kind of sad.
I suddenly realise I don’t remember how Ada relates to the others. Carlos and Lata are at least clearly friends with Mary and trying to be her partners, but Ada was just… Henry’s partner I think? Except she already knew Mary and Co? I don’t remember. It doesn’t bother me overmuch, but… yeah. I’m distracted, suddenly.
Betty should be a bigger character. She feels bigger than she is.
…Tony’s actor deserves a different script. What is it about dream-jumping characters having such bad scripting? And this actor’s too real, too heavy for the lines. He’s saying words that fit someone floaty and sweet, and he’s just… solid. It doesn’t fit.
LATA SHOULD BE IN A LABCOAT IN A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR LAB. This scene is so distracting in how it doesn’t fit the context…! My supernatural cop show would be terrible but still fit these characters more.
Oh, Carlos… you are a terrible actor. Please stop. Please. Honey. Please.
Wow, Mary’s being like… good this episode? Like… heroic good? I’m… confused by this sudden lack of pragmatism.
Okay, see, Tony’s much better in this scene where he’s being practical and brisk. A doctor who uses magic. It works. It was just that one scene that didn’t fit his style, and it fell apart because of exposition. That’s so frustrating.
Side note – X-Files actually had the same problem quite often! So it’s on-brand for this episode, at least.
Okay, I don’t LIKE John, but at least he’s consistent when they’re not trying to make him seem naïve and charming. He’s a hardline jerk who belongs in the 70s with its toxic masculinity. The fact he’s not being kind when forcing Mary to deal with her stuff is very true to that line.
That punch was uh… that was a thing that happened.
MARY HE IS GOING TO DRAG YOU DOWN SO HARD.
YES LATA WRITE TO THAT BOY. Exchange flirty pictures. I approve of this practical magic pairing.

So, five episodes in, let’s reflect.
I am… enjoying myself. But I don’t think I could handle a LOT of this. Like, there are a few things that are turning me off, and they’re things I suspected about Supernatural too. Things that stopped me from even trying, because I knew I’d end up frustrated.
The characters are… both shallow and complicated in a way that is frustrating. As in like… they are shallow representations of complex issues. Please don’t roast me fandom, I am five episodes into a prequel series that is clearly talking to something that had like 20 years of exploration. I appreciate that I don’t know what I’m talking about.
Like, take John for example. He’s not a good guy. There are too many things about him that are dark, with no self-awareness, no desire to be good. He just assumes himself to be Right, and Therefore Good. And… because he’s the main character, in theory, I don’t know how we’re supposed to feel about him. Are we watching his downfall or are we rooting for him to succeed regardless of the cost?
…I am having sudden Star Wars prequels flashbacks… Is John Annakin? I feel like John is Annakin.
 Meanwhile Mary… wants to be redeemed. She wants to be saved from this life. But John is not a saviour.
Carlos is a saviour. But he can’t save John, and Mary wants to be saved by John. She doesn’t respect Carlos enough to be saved by him, which is… both appropriate to her character and the time and yet really freaking annoying. Because he’d be so good as a saviour character.
In fact, you know what? Carlos is in the wrong show. He’s in the wrong show! He should be in some anime inspired nonsense where he can truly be the dark magical girl he doesn’t know he so desperately wants to be.
And this show… argh, it is so very set in the 70s. John is such a 70s male character, but the show is not a 70s show! The show is a 2000s SyFy channel series with 2020 sensibilities. I love the diversity, I love the way the characters exist so comfortably in themselves, but every time we are reminded that it’s the 70s I get absolute whiplash because none of these characters would be treated this well by the people they’re interacting with. I mean, I don’t want to watch another treatise on why the past sucks, but these characters are outsiders already. Show me their struggles to exist even on the periphery of society so I can believe their situation!
But then… Jay’s posts imply this may actually be an alternate reality. Maybe that’s why. This is an alternate reality, where 70s America was much more enlightened, and 50 years into the future we will all be happy and Get Along. Maybe that’s it. Next episode, I’m going in with that mentality.
So, TL;DR: I’m enjoying it, but I’m also very frustrated by it. ARGH. Anyway. I’m moving onto chapter six.

"Hello! I'm Adrien Fox with Pop Sugar and we are here with stars of the new film 'Week Off', Tom Holland and Y/N Y/L/N!" Adrien introduced you and Tom to the cameras.
You and Tom gave little waves, "Hello!"
"Now, let's get right into it."
Adrien began asking generic questions while you tried your best to prevent any spoilers from leaving Tom's lips.
"Can you explain the movie a bit to anyone who is unfamiliar with the book or hasn't watched the trailer?"
Tom opened his mouth to speak before closing it, "I think I'll let Y/N do that."
Adrien laughed before you spoke, "Yeah, um. It's basically a comedy with a little rated R content. Some romance, but mostly raunchy and hilarious stuff. It follows the employees in this law firm and their vacation away from work. Lots ensues during said trip including relationships, arguments and too much drinking."
"And you guys worked with many famous actors and actresses in this film. Like, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth, Kevin Hart, Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and The Rock. How was working with that many iconic people in the industry? You guys are obviously incredibly well known as well, but I imagine some of these people were your idols growing up." Adrien asked and you and Tom nodded.
"Yeah, uh, yeah. It was an honour. Absolutely amazing. Like, I never imagined I'd be making films, let alone films with stars like Kevin Hart and Emma Stone, you know? I'm just really proud of this one and I love everyone who we worked on it with." Tom gave his answer making you nod.
You cleared your throat, "Yeah, Zendaya is my best friend and she has been for years, long before this movie came along, but I still got so excited about working with her. Jennifer Lawrence is amazing, so hilarious. You put her and Chris into a room together and it's just comedy central." you laughed with Tom at the memory.
"We've seen in the trailer that you two share many intimate and – may I say – risqué scenes in this film. Was it hard to keep that level of professionalism and friendship while shooting those scenes?"
You let out a little chuckle at the question before Tom rubbed his chin and spoke, "Since Y/N and I are already good friends off screen, I thought it would be awkward filming those scenes, but Y/N does this weird handshake after every take and it wasn't awkward 'cause it just made me laugh."
Adrien laughed a little before speaking, "What handshake?"
You shook your head with a smile as you recalled the first time you ever did the handshake with Tom.
"Ready, Holland?" you had your pyjamas on and were making your way to your mark in the set of your character's hotel room.
Tom nodded before following you in, cameras and crew hot on his heels, "Ready as I'll ever be."
He was shirtless. A pair of loose fitting grey shorts hung low on his waist. His costume for this scene as Niko Sai.
A black silk slip hung carelessly off of your frame. Ending at the middle of your thighs, v-neck dipping low on your chest. Your costume for Kora Patel.
"We're going to take it from Tom's line; 'You want me just as much as I want you'. Okay?" you and Tom gave a thumbs up, "Action!"
"You want me just as much as I want you. Everytime you sneak a glance at me and you think I don't see, but I do because I'm already looking at you, Patel." Tom walked behind you, looking at you through the mirror in front of you. "I don't blame you, I am incredibly good looking." he smirked to himself.
"I'm guessing you couldn't fit your shirt over your ginormous head?" you rolled your eyes.
Tom's smirk only grew, "Is that a little bit of drool on your mouth, Patel? Who knew the Kora Patel had a thing for Niko Sai? Oh, the Lord is good."
You rested your hands on the sink and leaned forward, "This is a useless conversation, Sai." you turned to face him, "I feel nothing for you. Don't you get that?"
He stepped closer to you and cupped your face in his palm, "Yes you do, you just don't want to." his face showed pain, all humour drained from his character.
You shook your head with a dry laugh, "You're only trying with me because it's convenient. The company's quiet little Kora Patel, right?"
He took another step towards you, holding your hip in a tight grip, "That's a lie. Nothing about us is convenient."
You chuckled before your hand flew to grasp his hair, tangling your fingers in his curls. Your other hand pressed against his pec. Nails tracing patterns on his skin. Tom's breath hitched along with yours as his body automatically drew closer to you.
You tightened your grip on his hair, "It is convenient because you know I keep to myself. You know that I won't go running my mouth about how long you last or if size really does matter. You know that I'm an easy one to fuck," you pulled him closer, "And toss aside, right, Sai?"
"No." Tom swallowed, "You're wrong, Patel."
You shrugged, "I can give you what you want," you ran your thumb across his bottom lip, "Physically." your eyes met his with heavy lids, "Not emotionally. That's why you need Remedy. Not me." your lips brushed his as you spoke, your voice just loud enough for the mics to pick up.
He leaned in and nearly kissed you before you pushed him away slightly by his chest, foreheads still touching, "Let me kiss you." he whispered, sounding so desperate that you nearly abandoned the script and pulled him into you.
You rolled your lips between your teeth, "And if I don't?" you raised an eyebrow, challenging him.
"I'll leave you alone. If that's what you want, I'll go and have a useless one night stand with a girl who could never measure up to you." he pulled your hips flesh against his, "But if you let me kiss you. I promise to show you how much I mean it when I say that I'll spend all night showering every inch of your body with the love it deserves." he brushed his lips against yours again before bringing his mouth to your ear, "Just say the word, darling, and I'm yours."
Your heavy breaths were the only things that could be heard besides the small sound of shuffling behind the cameras. Your eyes flickered from his eyes to his lips before you closed the distance and pushed your lips to his.
Fighting for dominancy, teeth clashing, hands roaming. Unscripted groans falling from Tom's lips as you tugged on his hair, running your fingers along his scalp. His hands gripped the bottom of your thighs before you jumped and wrapped your legs around his waist.
"I still hate you." you breathed against his lips as he kissed the corner of your mouth.
You felt him smirk, "You sure have a funny way of showing it."
He carried you to the bedroom, gently laying you down and climbing on top of you, never breaking the kiss. His hands running down your sides, squeezing and rubbing. Your lips moving in sync until he pulled away only to attach his lips to your jawline, leaving slow but hard kisses down your neck, leading to your collarbone.
"Still hate me?" Tom mumbled against your skin.
You let out a breathy moan, "More than ever."
"What do you hate about me, Patel?" he lifted up the bottom of your black slip.
"E-everything." you fake gasped as he rolled his hips into yours.
He laughed dryly, "Everything, huh? The noises you're making say otherwise."
"You're such a dick." you moaned.
He smirked against your breast, "You're about to take my—"
"—Don't finish that fucking sentence, Sai."
Soft moans fell from your lips as you wrapped your legs around his waist again and pulled him closer to you. He groaned against your skin as the cameras picked up every noise, every movement, every kiss. You ran your nails down his back, surely leaving marks in its wake. His grip on your hips was almost punishing, as if he wanted there to be bruises the next day.
"And cut! Great work, guys. Ten minute break and we'll shoot it again."
Tom immediately got off of you and sat to the side of the bed before looking at you with concern, "Are you okay? Did I hurt you?"
You let out a laugh before shaking your head, "No, you didn't hurt me. Dap me up." you held out your hand and he stared confused.
"What you up?" he chuckled.
You smiled before lifting his hand and doing the movements for him, "Just like that." he finally got it down and smiled.
"You Americans are definitely odd." he teased.
You tossed him a wink as an assistant handed you a robe, "See you in ten, Holland."
"And that's the handshake. It's not really a handshake, more of a greeting. I just did it after our first intimate scene because Tom was acting weird and I didn't want things to be awkward." you explained with a shrug as Adrien and Tom laughed.
Tom nodded, "I thought I hurt her! So I asked if I did and all she said was 'dap me up', like, what?" he laughed with you.
"You guys have really great chemistry on and off screen." Adrien complimented making your cheeks heat up.
You nodded, "Thank you. It took a lot of work to break through his industrial ego." you joked with an exhausted sigh as Adrien laughed.
Tom gasped beside you, "I do not have an industrial ego!"
"Mhm, sure." you joked before reaching over and giving Tom's thigh a gentle squeeze, "I meant indestructible."
Tom huffed and crossed his arms, "This is bullying."
Adrien laughed again, "We have to talk about something," he started and you already knew what was coming, "Lots of fans have speculated that the romance on screen carries on off screen." he smirked.
You and Tom laughed nervously. Almost awkwardly.
The situations that you went through with Tom while filming definitely built your relationship with him and strengthened it. In all honesty, you didn't know if the feelings you had for him were reciprocated.
In Tom's head, he was adamant that you had no feelings for him beyond the big screen. Both of you were too timid to confess first. His feelings for you developed a few weeks into filming and since then have only gotten stronger as your friendship grew and you spent more time together.
The amount of times that this topic had been brought up today was tiring. Every answer was the same: "No, no. We're just really good friends."
You decided to joke around, "Honestly, I've asked Tom out at least twenty times and he keeps rejecting me." you pouted and sniffled.
Adrien let out a joyous laugh as Tom gasped and choked on air at your words.
"That is not true! She has never asked me out!" he defended himself.
You shook your head with a deep frown, "He's broken my heart too many times. This is probably my last time acting with him." you continued on with the joke.
Tom shook his head furiously, "That is one hundred percent false. If she had asked me out, we would already be dating." he let the words fall from his lips without a second thought.
You fought the instinct to snap your head towards him. His confession catching you off guard. You played it off with another pout and shrug. Unsure if he was joining in on the prank or not.
Adrien raised a suggestive eyebrow, "What I'm hearing is that Y/N just needs to ask you out and we have our new couple."
You fake gasped, "Why do I have to ask him out? He should be asking me out with a million roses and a horse drawn carriage." you flipped your hair over your shoulder.
"You don't even like roses." Tom laughed, "You like dandelions because they turn into those fluffy things that you can make a wish with." he remembered the information off of the top of his head, "And because it sounds like you're saying 'dandy lions' when you say their name."
You nodded with a smile, "A million dandelions then. And maybe I'll think about it." you joked with a yawn making the two men laugh.
"You heard it here first. We have a new couple on the rise. Tom just needs to find a million dandelions and a horse drawn carriage." Adrien laughed again.
Tom scoffed dramatically, "Find? I already have them in my garage, ready to go."
Adrien cheered as you felt a heat creep up your neck, "Did I say dandelions? I meant daisies."
"Got those, too." Tom smirked making you roll your eyes.
"Okay, we need to end this interview before Tom buys all the flowers in Berlin." you joked.
After the interview ended, you said your goodbyes to Adrien and the crew before you and Tom made your way back to your temporary hotel suite for the week of press junkets.
Tom walked you to your room, stopping at the door, "That was an odd interview." he chuckled.
You nodded, "Indeed. It was fun, though." you smiled and he returned the expression.
There was an awkward beat of silence before he spoke again, "T-that whole asking me out thing. You were kidding, right? Like, just a show for the cameras?" he laughed nervously.
You swallowed air before replying with a timid smile, "Y-yeah. Totally. Just for the fans." you nodded again, "Um, I should head to bed. More interviews tomorrow. See you in the morning." you gave him a little wave before turning to your door and pulling out your key.
He nodded with the smallest of pouts before turning on his heel and starting the walk back to his suite.
Just as your hand was turning the knob, Tom's voice called out to you again.
"Would you like to go on a date with me?" he spoke in one breath.
You bit your lip to conceal your smile, but it was no use. His question sparked a flame in your stomach that wasn't dying out anytime soon.
You turned with a bright grin, "I'd love to."
His features went from pure fright to relief in a matter of seconds, "G-great. I'll- uh, I'll text you the details. Goodnight." he gave you a little salute making you laugh.
"Sounds good. Night, Holland." you nodded your head before entering your hotel room.
You leaned against the door as soon as it shut. A euphoric glow radiating off of you. You were going on a date with Tom Holland.
Tom happily punched the air. Skipping down the hallway, a new found joy in his step. Chris Hemsworth walked out of his room and examined the gleeful boy.
"What's got you all smiley?" he chuckled.
Tom stopped and smiled, staring at the ceiling, "I just got myself a date."
Chris raised an impressed eyebrow before laughing, "You really are Peter Parker. Night, kid."
"Goodnight, Chris." Tom's smile never faded as he made his way back to his suite.
Not even ten minutes had gone by since he last spoke to you and he already missed you. He pulled out his phone and pressed on your contact.
Tom: sorry i didn't have any dandelions. hope you can make an exception x

SPN Conspiracies - Applying Logic to Chaos
Its been over 2 months now since the Supernatural finale aired. I am still so angry, hurt, and confused by it and I don’t think I will ever get closure unless someone like Andrew Dabb, or Jensen Ackles, actually opens up and gives us an explanation that makes sense.
What annoys me most right now is people trying to gaslight fans into believing that we should accept the narrative we have been given at face value: That the finale was always planned to be that way, that Destiel was never on the cards, that there was no Network interference, that the only changes made were due to covid and were minor at best.
This harmful gaslighting is FALSE.
NO ONE KNOWS THE TRUTH OF WHAT HAPPENED.
Look, I don’t agree with some of the crazier conspiracy theories. I don’t believe that there was some huge campaign among the CW Network execs to remove anything remotely gay out of homophobia. I don’t believe that the finale was changed because of some desire to make it into a Walker promo. I don’t believe that the finale was really bad on purpose in protest by Dabb for not getting to do an ending he truly wanted. I don’t believe that Dabb left us smart fans a bunch of secret messages in the finale to hint that he was on our side all along and that everything was fake.
I do, however, believe that all of these conspiracy theories have some elements in them that are plausible. At least, more plausible than the bullshit narrative mentioned above that some people are pushing in some desperate attempt to defend the Network (which imo is really strange behaviour anyway - why would anyone care about a TV network with a history of terrible behaviour?!?)
We have facts, based on information provided before the covid lockdown, which for some reason, people like Misha have since backpeddled on. So let me try to outline some of the information that makes no sense.
Below the cut I go on a deep dive into the conspiracies and statements I have heard about the SPN finale and try to make some sense of this whole fucked up situation. It gets long.
1. “Cas was never gonna be in the finale”.
False: We have many fan accounts of Misha confirming that he was filming the finale. We have video evidence of Misha confirming he was going back to film the finale after the lockdown. We have confirmation from fans in Misha M&Gs from March that he had about 5 days of filming left.
We also had fan accounts of discussions with Alex Calvert (I think) where he confirmed the final shot of the final episode was all four of them though I would LOVE if someone can find a source for this.
2. Okay, Misha was gonna be in the finale, but only as Jimmy Novak
False: I heavily side eyed Misha when he said this. But I think I can come up with a plausible explanation for it. Per above, Misha was supposed to film for 5 days. This does not align with the half a day he described of filming as Jimmy Novak. My own belief is that after Cas was cut from the finale (for whatever reason we don’t know) someone (probably Jensen Ackles) put up a fight and complained that Misha should be there for the final episode. The writers probably tried to come up with a way to bring Misha back without having to deal with Cas, and pitched the idea of Jimmy Novak being in Heaven. Misha, obviously annoyed about this, turned this stupid pitch down.
3. Destiel was never a thing, never planned, never part of Dabb’s ending. Bobo and Misha pushing the confession was the part of the season that was Wrong.
False: We have a SPN writer on record saying that Castiel’s confession was the first thing written for Season 15 when the writers returned to the writers room. If it wasn’t planned, why was it the first thing written, why does it align so well with the rest of season 15? Look I know some people either a. hate destiel and refuse to see it even if it slaps them in the face, or b. have major heteronormative goggles on, or c. are just homophobes in denial, but 15x18 fits in perfectly with the narrative of season 15. Everything Cas says, everything that happened in that scene was so in character it just works. It fit. If you just rewatch the season whilst applying some critical thinking skills and pay attention to the narrative and character arcs, trust me, the confession fits in with pretty much every other plot point, and character story in the season.
Also: We have known for a while that the network did market research into Destiel, wanting to know if it would go down well or not. They were well aware of its popularity and considering it. Where would this have come from if not pitched by the showrunner? Dabb must have at least been considering it. If you take all of Dabb era into consideration, starting with mid season 11, all the way through the season 12 build up, season 13 grief arc, and then Bobo’s Destiel break up arc in late season 14, early season 15, it is clear that there was some toing and froing on the issue of Destiel, but ultimately, I still believe that Dabb was on board. He wrote 13x01 for christs sake. No way he wasn’t taking it seriously.
 4. It’s always been about the brothers. The finale just stays true to what Supernatural is all about.
*rubs temples* Fundamentally FALSE: The show has time and again reasserted the message of “Family don’t end with blood”, as well as the messages of AKF and YANA. Sam and Dean may be at the heart of the show, but a heart can’t exist without a body to support it. Without bones, and lungs, and blood, and muscles, and a BRAIN. The finale abandons the shows core messages. It forces the characters back into their season 1 characterisations and the whole thing becomes hollow and souless. But I’m not here to complain, I’m here to lay down the facts. Dean’s heaven was supposed to be surrounded by loved ones right? We know OG Charlie Bradbury was gonna be in his Heaven, we also know CAS was gonna be in there. So this idea that the finale as it currently stands was how it was meant to be is wrong. Dean was supposed to die and reunite with his found family and loved ones. This alone would have been a far better ending than the one given. Do I think this was solely a covid issue? Fuck no.
The randoms that WERE in the finale are proof alone that they could have got people in and quarantined. We also have several actors on record saying that they WOULD have quarantined for the finale had they been asked to return but they WEREN’T.
Lies have been told. Samantha Ferris and Chad Limberg have confirmed that we have been lied to about the original plans for the finale.
This alone is proof enough that there is more plausibility in some of the conspiracy theories than any bullshit narrative some people are pushing in defence of the barbaric mess of a finale we were given.
So lets address some of the conspiracy theories now:
Conspiracy No.1: The CW Network reviewed Supernatural during the covid break, and due to homophobia, refused any Destiel arc that wasn’t already filmed, shut down any potential reciprocation from Dean, and forced Dabb to change his finale.
I don’t think this is entirely what happened. But I do think it is very strange how there is a such a huge disconnect particularly in Dean’s characterisations between what had come before the lockdown, and what came after. The one fact we have here, and please someone provide a source if you can find it because I know there is one, the finale script was still going through changes up to only 2 weeks before it was filmed. We know that there was some weird editing in 15x18 (which was still in post and uncompleted before lockdown) and we know from Jensen’s own mouth that there was more to the confession scene on Dean’s side that was cut. We also know that this isn’t the first time that Destiel heavy moments have been changed in post - the prayer scene is another big scene that went through a lot of changes and Bobo fought to have his script play out the way he wanted it.
There are certain things that in my own opinions, are basically true of SPN which I have put together from years of keeping one eye on the writers room, the network, and all the various comments made. My opinion is this:
The writers room has always been split on Destiel. Some writers heavily supported making it canon, others did not care, or were against it.
The Network considered it over the course of several years, did market research, green lit it, then changed their minds, possibly several times over the course of Dabb’s era. Destiel was pitched to the Network early in Dabb era.
The crew on set were also split. Some people heavily supported it, and worked to assist the reading, whereas others did not care/did not support it. The same can be said for the editing room.
Bob Singer supported the subtextual homoeroticism, but never supported bringing it into text (this is an opinion, but I think it aligns with everything we know about him.) IMO Bob Singer also supported subtextual homoeroticism between Sam and Dean - the guy is gross is what I’m saying. He isn’t exactly a progressive person.
Fun fact - a while back our old enemy Sera Gamble went on a Twitter rant about writers rooms and the ways a script goes through changes. I don’t think this was in relation to the SPN finale wank but she basically inadvertantly confirmed that the Network can step in and make sweeping changes to a script if they want to and if they decide they don’t like the direction of a story. Sera Gamble confirmed this as a fact.
Now. I’m not saying that this is what the CW did with Destiel. I just think its very strange how pre lockdown, the last thing filmed is a heartfelt homosexual declaration of love between Dean and Cas, and we have a finale script that Misha had not seen, but knew that he was meant to film as Castiel for 5 days (5 days on set is over half of an episode as far as I know). Then all of a sudden, Covid happens, and Cas is cut from the finale completely, a desperate attempt to bring Misha back only as Jimmy Novak takes place, which Misha rightly refuses, leading to a finale which makes zero sense narratively and appears in every way completely and utterly butchered.
The only explanation provided by anyone involved is that Covid meant changes had to happen - but that covid didn’t change the actual story at all.
But this makes no sense because we know that Cas was cut from the finale. This is FACT. Do not let anyone gaslight you into thinking otherwise. Misha was preparing to quaranting to return to set as Cas post Covid, so whatever happened to cut Cas from the finale, it wasn’t Covid.
I’m gonna have to Occum’s Razor this and say that the most logical explanation here is the one that is most likely true. Someone got cold feet with the Destiel story, and to prevent any possible interpretation that included Dean reciprocating, any hints of Destiel were removed from the finale script, including Castiel’s whole appearance.
Now, this isn’t me saying I think that Dabb’s original finale was full of Destiel love confessions and a homosexual kiss or whatever, but I am asking you all to really think about it and ask yourselves WHY Cas would have been totally cut from an episode he was supposed to be in at LEAST half of? 
We will probably never know the real reason Cas was cut, but he WAS cut. I’m not saying it was all homophobia, but some fuckery went down.
Conspiracy No. 2: The CW Network changed the finale to make it into a Walker promo because they only cared about raising up Jared and not Jensen and Misha as they were losing them anyway.
I don’t agree with this in terms of the finale being butchered solely to make it into a Walker promo. There are however moments in the finale that are clearly supposed to be Walker Easter Eggs and added to excite fans of Jared/Sam in particular such as Sam’s gratuitous and unnecessary topless scene, as well as the call on the “case in Austin”.
I will take this moment to say something pretty damn controversial though.
*Deep breath*
The fact is, Dean Winchester has been the “lead” character of Supernatural’s narrative for years now, with Sam often being sidelined and not given great storylines himself. Even in Season 15, right up until the finale, I myself felt bad for Sam sometimes because so much of this show has become all about Dean. Jensen Ackles is clearly the better actor when it comes to emotional story arcs, so the emotional heart of the story has most often leant on him.
So you can understand my confusion, when this is turned on its head in the final episode, to make Sam carry all the emotional weight, and have the most lines/screentime, and story resolution (even if his story resolution was just as crappy as Dean’s).
If we pretend that Destiel is not a thing, and ignore Cas’s confession, the story change in the finale from Dean focus to Sam focus is still rather suspicious. Again, I’m not saying I completely approve of or agree to the conspiracy theory that Walker influenced the butchering of the script, but I can believe that perhaps a note went down from the CW to someone like Bob Singer, to emphasise Sam/Jared more than they perhaps would normally, because the CW wanted to shine the spotlight on Jared to raise excitement for Walker.
I can also believe this note might have said something like “we wanna cater to fans of Sam/Jared the most - don’t do anything to piss them off.” but now I am getting into my own conspiracy theories so by all means dismiss this as me being bitter.
Conspiracy No.3: Dabb purposely made it bad, as a secret message to Destiel fans that he had been silenced, by layering meta clues into the episode that he knew fans would notice.
I doubt this one is true. Though some of the theories are quite compelling. The old vampire silent movie theory for instance starts off quite well, but loses me the moment it brings up Urban Dictionary slang.
Sometimes I have just had to accept that Supernatural is a bad show that is sometimes accidentally a masterpiece. However, some writers really did go That Deep with their stories - anything by Ben Edlund or Steve Yockey for instance, their episodes are meta masterpieces with a hundred different layers of beautiful subtextual storytelling and are a joy to analyse. Bobo Berens has certainly done some A+++ work especially now we KNOW that he was working hard all this time to bring Destiel to canon text (so any analysis of Destiel in the subtext in his episodes is very accurate). There have been many other key elements analysed over the years which have been confirmed true. Cas’s death in Season 12, Dean’s time as a demon in season 10, Season 11 ending in unity of dark and light, these were all plot points predicted by meta writers just by analysing the narrative. Sometimes the writers really have been very smart and they do add things to the show to aid us in our meta.
Richard Speight Jr for instance, confirmed that SPN has a visual library that the production team use to give clues and hints in the narrative. Pizza, for example, always means a lie has been told. Whenever Pizza is being eaten or even just mentioned on screen, there is dishonesty in that particular moment.
The beers also have a very specific message and the one thing I can’t let go about the finale, was that Dean was drinking El Sol beer. The beer his dad gave him, that was terrible.
El Sol has been used in the show to indicate something being wrong, a fake reality, or another lie, for the longest time. It is the beer of deception.
The fact that in the final episode of this entire show, Dean is in Heaven, supposedly at peace, and then he gets handed an El Sol beer to drink? Thats a HUGE red flag for any meta writer watching who can read SPNs visual library.
If they had given him the Margiekugel beer of family then it would make sense. Dean is in Heaven, with Bobby, his family, at peace. Margiekugel should have been the beer of choice. But nope. El Sol. Something is wrong.
I don’t know if it was Dabb, or Singer, or some disgruntled ADs and crew members who added these elements into the finale, but their very presence confirms some message of Wrongness.
I could go into a huge rant about Vampire Mimes not making sense and the very glaringly obvious symbolism of cutting out peoples tongues too, but that is high school level film analysis. It’s obvious. It means to silence someone. There is validity in interpreting this as Dabb saying he was silenced. I don’t know how true it is, but i can’t 100% dismiss it, because as I said, this is high school analysis levels of obvious subtextual storytelling.
So in summary, whilst I don’t think that Dabb intentionally went out of his way to sabotage his own script, and leave a breadtrail of secret messages for savvy fans to put together to confirm that he was silenced by an evil network into not getting what he wanted... I do think that there is validity in questioning these odd choices for the finale. Cutting out tongues? Vampire Mimes? El Sol beer?
The evidence is somewhat compelling is all I’m saying. I don’t believe the full conspiracy theories, but as I have said many times before, some fuckery went down.
So What Do I Believe?
That some fuckery went down and whatever company line they are pushing is bullshit.
I believe that the original script included Cas (since thats fact). I believe that the original script probably always had Dean dying on a vampire hunt (due to Jensen’s issues with it and in particular, his sarcastic comments about vampires in the past year or so which in hindsight are hilarious and prove he never really came to terms with Dean’s idiotic death). I believe Dabb’s original script was some less crappy version of what we got, which potentially included showing Jack rescuing Cas from the Empty and resolving the outstanding Empty plot points (potentially this was actually a 15x19 plot since Mark P commented that his final scenes were supposed to be with Jack and Cas), had Cas reunite with Dean in Heaven and had them have a discussion about Cas’s confession. I believe that there was probably a lot of back and forth over how to handle that with some people wanting Dean to obviously reciprocate and others believing they should keep it ambiguous. I believe that Dean and Cas would have reunited with Charlie Bradbury, and Bobby Singer, and possibly others (though if this was the case it must have been very early on since no one ever looped in Sam Ferris, Chad Linberg or any other Roadhouse people).
I believe that Sam’s ending probably didn’t change much, but I do feel that initially they were planning on him ending up with Eileen, because it is the only thing that narratively makes sense. Cutting Eileen and giving him a blurry wife is something I won’t ever understand and Jared’s bullshit explanations are quite clearly pulled out of his ass to appease bronly types. I believe the reunion on the bridge would have included Cas and Jack, with a final shot of all four of them together, at peace (as this aligns with Alex’s comments from around a year or so ago that the final shot was all four of them). (I also am not sure it was always supposed to be on a bridge since the foreshadowing in an earlier episode showed Dean, Cas and Sam all in the Roadhouse together).
I believe that script went through countless changes and redrafts, and not even production people or the types that some fandom people claim as their “sources” would even have seen those early scripts, since even Misha never saw it. I believe that these rumours of Dabb never having Cas in his finale and ignoring all Destiel elements likely come from people who only saw later versions, weren’t party to network discussions and felt bitter about the final scripts they did see (being the crappy butchered one that was ultimately filmed). Those “sources” are now spreading rumours to discredit Dabb.
I obviously believe Dabb is a weak ass pushover who either didn’t care enough to fight back, or gave up since he’s been stuck with fucking Bob Singer on his back for years, but I will NEVER believe he didn’t care about the DeanCas love story, because he has been one of the few writers who has championed for it for years. You can’t look back at Dabb’s episodes in earlier seasons and claim he didn’t care. Dabb was a writer whose creative ideas were beaten out of him by an unforgiving Network only concerned about where their future money was coming from. Do I think he gave up too easily? Yes. But I also have one other huge reason for not believing the bullshit about Dabb being this anti-Destiel villain.
Bobo. Because if Bobo truly believed Dabb was gonna fuck that up at the end, I don’t think he would have given us Cas’s love confession to begin with. If he had known it was gonna end like that, I think he would have reconsidered, because had Cas not confessed his love, I don’t think he would have been cut from the finale. Bobo - a gay man, would not have wanted such a horrible message for queer fans being put across in the show he worked so hard on. He started writing that confession scene the day they returned to the writers room. Dabb would have been there, would have seen what he was writing, probably discussed it with him, after all, other episodes were written with the confession in mind. No way was Dabb planning to fuck up the ending knowing what Bobo was giving us. Nope.
Something went very wrong over lockdown. Someone, somewhere up the chain of power caught wind of the confession scene in 15x18, realised that it demanded a resolution which would make Dean Winchester, their protagonist, queer, and pulled the plug. I believe this did not come from a place of homophobia, but of bad business sense.
The CW is constantly trying to win the approval and attention of the one demo group that they seem to fail at getting the most: young straight men. Supernatural was one of their only remaining shows that appeals to young straight men, and Dean Winchester is more often than not the fave character of those young straight men who project onto him. Making Dean Winchester, established Han Solo of Supernatural, queer and in love with his best friend in the finale would have come across as a betrayal to those young straight men. The CW probably feared they would lose that demo group for good, and with a show like Walker starting soon with Jared at the helm, they couldn’t take the risk.
Hence there was probably a whole bunch of back and forth script redrafts with the Network, with Dabb and Singer fighting to make a finale that would appeal to everyone. There was most likely no way that they could bring Cas back without addressing what had already been filmed, because any resolution of that plot would either a. make Dean queer, or b. address it awkwardly by having Dean reject Cas (this storyline would probably have been slammed by critics worse than the finale because it meant addressing it. It might have got the attention of LGBTQ activist groups and caused a bigger shitstorm than what we got). The best option was therefore C. Bury it and Cas, pretend it never happened. Never address it again and distract Dean with other things. Hope that Destiel fans will accept no answer from Dean as ambiguous enough to imagine a future reunion rather than shutting it down with a rejection, and still keep hold of the blissfully ignorant heteronormative straight boys so they can carry over to Walker when it starts.
I also believe (controversially probably) that there was concern that any resolution of Dean and Cas would have overshadowed network darling Jared Padalecki. If Dean and Cas had come together in the finale, with a very clearly textual homosexual reunion, then that would have been all anyone talked about. The reviewers, the critics, the audience, everyone. It would have been nothing but Dean and Cas (and look, if they did think this, they were right, Destiel trending over the US ELECTION.)
So what is the network to do, when they are losing the two stars who would get the most attention from this storyline? The one star they were holding on to and getting his own show, relegated to third place in the finale of the show where he was first on the call sheet? Nope. That’s pretty unacceptable. Even without Walker I can imagine people at all levels side eyeing the Destiel thing over the years. This IS a show about two brothers, and their relationship should be the core relationship, we can’t have one brother pushed aside in the finale to make way for a queer relationship that will get all the attention instead. It was never gonna get approved for this reason ALONE.
At the end of the day, if I look at it from a business perspective, it makes far more sense that the CW shut down Destiel, rather than “oh Dabb never cared and ruined it because he’s an idiot.” The writers cared, and had built on that story over years. But their mistake was leaving any Destiel resolution to the finale. If they had instead gone and got Dean and Cas together in early season 15, then they could have ended it in a way that satisfied everyone. Destiel wouldn’t have threatened pulling focus away from Sam and Dean, and the show could have gone out on a high.
When I lay out all the conspiracy theories, and line them up next to the cold hard facts, the conspiracy theories in some way or another, make more sense. To believe the company line, the narrative we have been fed, is to ignore your own eyes, ears, and memories pre March 2020.
All I’m asking people to do is take a look at the show, the narrative presented in the show, and the information presented above. I’m not telling you to believe what I’ve written here, half of which is just my own opinion. I’m asking you to ask yourselves if it makes sense to you. Because it sure as hell doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t think I’ll ever be satisfied.

What the Fuck Happened to the SPN Finale?
Okay so here it is, my Charlie Kelly style manifesto.
Before I get into it, I recognize that I will look like this to many of you, and that’s okay, I understand:

Secondly, your personal Takes about the writers don’t interest me, I don’t need to hear them. This, as I’ll explain, is going to remain a writer positive blog, and that’s the end of it.
Third, and most importantly: some of what I’m going to talk about is fact, and some is highly educated speculation. I will notate what is speculation, just so there’s no confusion or hot takes in my inbox that I’m a conspiracy theorist or stirring shit up for no reason.

This is very long and under a cut, but I hope you’ll give it a read.
The Episode In Regards to the Rest of the Season
So, I’ve discussed this already here, but it’s the most obvious thing to me, and that’s the way this episode simply doesn’t fit with the rest of the season.
These people in this room have, truly, been nothing but consistent when it comes to their arcs, especially this season, and the marked dropoff in quality for the finale episode is just too sus to discount to me.  Dabb’s whole focus has been character-based.  In his seasons, we’ve moved far away from MOTW and bro-codependency, the found family taking it’s place.  Does it really sit right to anyone that that was all thrown away in literally the last episode of the entire show?
This is speculation on my part, but as a writer myself, there is no way I would be happy or willing to stamp my name on something that I didn’t think would, at the very least, wrap up the season+ character arcs that I and my team had been crafting.
And before anyone comes in here saying, “well GOT did that!”  Bruh.  The writing was on the wall for GOT long before the final episode.  You could tell that the showrunners just wanted to be done (not only from the plot, but from the fact that they lobbied for a shorter season).  Miss me with that, it doesn’t apply here.  Andrew has, besides Singer and J2, been with the show longer than anyone.  He cares, he is meticulous and detailed, and this ending feels worse than anything Bucklemming has ever written, let alone Dabb.
Additionally, I’ve seen a lot of people say that Dabb was never behind Destiel, that it was all Bobo and Meredith and no one else.  That is reductive to the point of insult of the work Dabb has done to get this greenlit.  This man did not write the s13 Dean grief arc to be slandered like this.  That being said, YES, Bobo and Meredith were the leads on the DeanCas arc this season, but ANDREW IS THE SHOWRUNNER, TO GET EVEN THE CONFESSION APPROVED BY THE NETWORK HE WOULD HAVE TO HAVE THEIR BACKS.  AND HE DID.
Finale Issues
So, now that we’ve gotten the fact that this episode doesn’t hit on any of the major themes the show was barrelling towards all season, let’s discuss the fact that the episode is just...weird.
Not only is it shorter than any other episode (I think with the intro and the credits/crew thing at the end, it was around 38 mins), but it was also...idk, 90% filler?

This is weird, y’all.  Most series finales are LONGER than normal (Lost, SOA, Longmire are the ones I can think of off the top of my head), and for the final episode to be this?  I saw more than one person point out that we only really needed 19 episodes, what was the point of 20?  AND THAT’S EXACTLY IT?  WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THIS FINAL EPISODE IF THIS WAS ALL WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GET?
It simply doesn’t make any sense, the first half of the episode was rushed, a final monster hunt gone wrong, but in the second half?  Nothing really happened?  Sam lived his entire life and Dean just drove around.  It doesn’t make sense to have all the emotional arcs left unaddressed in an episode that definitely needed some kind of spark.
Here’s the speculation I have: the episode seemingly went through a lot of changes between the initial inception of the final season and when we actually got it, but I think it would have been passable (as in, we wouldn’t be sitting here asking each other why each arc feels incomplete) until the editing room got ahold of it.  The only think that makes this episode make sense is network fuckery.  Truly, that is the only thing.  It explains the weird, cuts, the rushed pacing of the first half followed by nothing in the second half, the double montages of “Wayward Son” back to back, and Dean just...driving around for the last half of the episode.
Scene Placement and Speculation of Scenes Cut
Before I get into this section, the info of the shots in the episode I have come from a source that @occamshipper​ got a week or so before the finale.  She’s talked about this here.
So here’s what Min was given:
1-5: 1 INT MEN OF LETTERS – DEAN’S ROOM Dean is greeted by Miracle
6-10: 6 INT MEN OF LETTERS – HALLWAY/SAM’S ROOM Sam has his routine
D1 1 11-15: 15 EXT FARM HOUSE Establishing
N1 1/8 16-20: 19 Dad’s journal, marker, drawing of masked man in journal.
21-25: 23 INT IMPALA – PMP Driver picks the music
N2 1 3/8 1,2 26-30: 28pt2 INT BARN: A face from the past
28pt3 Sam and Dean say goodbye
28pt4 Shot early for technical reasons, presumably the overhead shot
N2 31-45: 41 INT MEN OF LETTERS – SAM’S ROOM Sam’s alarm goes off D4 1/8 1 46-60: 56 INT N7glasses for Sam, laptop.
So...it all fits right?  It all tracks with the actual episode, where it lands, etc.  The issue is between shots 29-40 which were apparently “too big to spoil.”  Uh.  Where are they?  And where’s 28 pt4?
After Dean dies, the next scene is Sam burning him, then shot 31, the shot of his alarm going off.
So.  Where are those 11ish shots?
PLUS we have the boards, which are scenes we KNOW were actually shot:
As well as scenes for 20 that were shot in 19.
It’s just...weird, it’s weird and again hits on the fact that the episode is so short and like 80% montage.
The Scrubbing of Jack, Cas, and Eileen
So now we have to reckon with the fact that Eileen was last mentioned by Sam after she got snapped by Chuck, Jack’s last mention is that he’s off being God somewhere, and Cas’ last mention is a ~knowing look~ between Dean and Bobby.
I’m sorry, make it make sense:

????????  That’s the end if it?  They don’t need to be discussed after this???  It’s just simply not something a writer would do, they would not introduce these characters, these arcs, without thinking there’s going to be some kind of follow through here.
So not only were three major characters (including two leads and both of the original characters’ love interests) completely wiped from the finale episode, it was as though Sam and Dean never even needed them, which just...ain’t it.
So why Eileen and Jack too?  Why not just take Cas out of it if they were afraid of the gay?  Because, ultimately, the episode went back to Kripke’s original story: just the bros, they only need each other and no one else.  They don’t want anyone else, they don’t need anyone else.  Easier to go back to something they knew was successful than trust the writers and their audience and take a big leap.
Alex even said he shot for 20 with “some of the guys” here.  What happened to that footage?
The complete 180 of it all still shocks me, I still cannot believe that we were essentially at the finish line, and the network just stopped short, and decided to go run another race, at the expense of the arc of this fifteen year legacy show.
Network Involvement and When Things Were Cut
Okay, now into the juicy stuff.
So I’ve pretty well established that network fuckery is clear, but how much did they get involved, what was the original intent?
Well again, we may never actually know what Andrew’s original script was, but I think, at the least, it would involve Dean speaking his truth to Cas and Sam living a life with Eileen.
Now, it seems today, that Misha said that Jimmy Novak was supposed to be in the finale in one iteration of the script, and while initially my brain was like “that truly makes no sense and he’s either straight up lying or telling a half truth,” I think what may be happening is Misha talking about as much as he can right now.

So Jimmy right.  Weird as fuck.  Why would he been in the Roadhouse and not Cas?  My current thought (this is about as reachy as I’ll get) is that Jimmy had no lines, could he have been in the Roadhouse as a red herring, like it said “Jimmy” in the script but it was just Cas in human clothes, a way to get around the network saying Cas couldn’t be in the final scene.  Also, you’ll notice that Misha didn’t say that Cas wasn’t supposed to be in the ep at all, just Jimmy in the last scene.
All this to say, there have clearly been multiple versions of the script, getting lighter and lighter with Cas and Eileen as the network pulled further and further back.  Remember, Dabb has to get things approved before they get shot, and if the network kept asking and asking and asking to cut Cas and Eileen, he had to find a way to work around it.  Granted, I still think that if we had been able to get a Dabb script that wasn’t torn to shreds in editing, it wouldn’t be so bad.  It may not be what a lot of us wanted (Dean speaking his truth to Cas and a reciprocation), but doing everything he could to give it to us in subtext or visual clues.
Plus, in all honesty, my man can’t keep his story straight anyway.  He said twice in his panel that the Empty and offscreen Heaven ending weren’t his original ending either.
In addition, remember that Jensen did ADR post episode 18, AND said in a meet and greet last weekend that Dean’s reaction to Cas’ confession was “cut down.” (Source here).  Many of us clowns got excited when we first heard about ADR, because we thought it would be upping the ante on Dean’s reaction, but I remember being a little sus when it was just crying.  My speculation on that is that they cut out Dean actually SAYING something, @winchestersingerautorepair​ spoke about that here.
The biggest sins were, in my opinion, committed during editing, where the network got too gun shy and sliced the episode until it was nothing but a heartless bro-fest of a finale, not mentioning anything about the other major characters that we all love, and letting the boys just suffer in separation until Sam died and finally joined Dean in Heaven.  The editing came by cutting all the major emotional beats between anyone other than Dean and Sam, leaving the skeleton of the story intact, just shorter and less...poignant than it was ever supposed to be.
Misha
We know Misha was in Vancouver, we know he quarantined, but we also know he wasn’t in the final scene, when he spoke about being in the last moment of the show months ago.  We were not crazy, he was there, he quarantined, and, in all likelihood (speculation but fitting with the timeline), he actually may have shot something (not much, but something).
I have sources here, here, here, and here showing where Misha was at that time.
Remember, the man was completely open about coming back until they finished shooting (look at this thread).  The switch happened, just like everything else, halfway through them shooting.
Please also remember Jake Abel posting his “Where’s Misha” video here.  Jake isn’t malicious, he isn’t being nasty here.  Misha was there, and everyone that’s trying to convince people he’s wasn’t just...isn’t telling the truth about it.
This is one of the things that makes me really mad, because they’re literally attempting to gaslight people into thinking, “oh we were totally wrong he was never supposed to be there” WHEN HE WAS THERE, WE KNOW HE WAS THERE.
So we’ve already heard from several people (Meghan Fitzmartin, Jay, a PA on the set of 19 (WHO WAS NOT WORKING FOR 20), Misha himself) that this was all down to Covid restrictions.  Ultimately, as this post says, we’ve heard FIVE versions of where Misha was.  None of it makes sense, but the Covid protocol seems to be the company line that others are repeating.

You may ask: why?  Why lie to all of us when we have questions?  Why, in Jay’s case, say that we’re all spreading false lies to stir up trouble, when we just have questions and things that do not make sense.  Simply?  Warner Brothers is absolutely massive.  These people have their careers to protect and are likely all under NDAs.  They want to work for WB again and don’t want to burn bridges, including Misha.  It sucks, but that’s why it’s unlikely that we’ll hear someone come out and say, “yeah we’re lying to you.”
Silence of the Cast Post Episode
So this is...probably the worst part of all this, at least in my opinion.
The guys had all been pretty excited about the end of the show (especially Jared, but Jensen’s panel last week was Jensen as happy and jokey and positive as I’ve ever seen him.  He was so excited about episode 18, about what it meant for Dean and for Cas, and I just cannot buy that he would have been that excited unless he thought there was something more in the episode.
Misha live-tweeted the episode, and was watching it with his kids.  It’s well known that Misha and the kids don’t watch the show because it’s too scary, and let’s ask ourselves, why would he have them watch an episode that he’s barely even mentioned in?
He also stopped live-tweeting at a very specific point in the episode (Dean’s death) and has not mentioned Supernatural since then. 
None of them, not Jared, Jensen, Misha, or even Alex, said anything about the episode for nearly 36 hours, when Jensen posted a salty photo on instagram.  It’s just...not what you’d expect for the end of a 15 year show, when the cast and crew are so close to the fans, so close to each other. 
My theory?  They didn’t know.  They thought Misha was, at least, going to be in the episode in some way, and when he wasn’t, they decided not to say anything.
You really think that Jensen “Heller” Ackles would have been so excited about the end of the show last week if he thought Cas wasn’t going to be in it at all?  Nah son, doesn’t make any sense.
Even today, in Jared and Misha’s panels, they seemed sad and...more than a little careful, both saying that there were things they couldn’t say, both talking around things that we all have questions on.
Jensen Speaking with Kripke
So this is where a lot of people are getting fodder to take shots at the writers, saying that Jensen hated it from the beginning, but I don’t think so.  I actually think I know what Jensen went to him about, and it wasn’t the lack of Cas or the weird pacing or the montages (which I don’t think were there when Jensen got the script); I think it was the manner of Dean’s death.
I know a lot of people were upset about that, upset with how...normal it was, coming off an episode where they literally beat God.  I actually didn’t mind it, I thought it was an interesting thematic take to be like: you can be a hero all your life, but sometimes shit happens, and you just die.
But imagine how hard that was for Jensen to read.  He would run to Kripke for that, because for him, Dean dying by being impaled by a piece of rebar had to be tough to swallow.
So, why didn’t Kripke say that?  Why didn’t he say, “oh well he had a problem with Dean’s death, none of that other stuff was in the script.”
Guys.  Why would he get involved?  He’s not going to burn bridges any more than anyone else is.  He said the ending was good because it’s the easy thing to do, it’s simple, will cause him no problems in his career, and he can just ignore the people trying to engage with him on it.
Walker
Something else to talk about is the major shift this episode had from the rest of the season: the shift from Dean to Sam.  I am NOT saying that Sam isn’t important, he definitely, absolutely is, but it was DEAN who really needed to wrap up his arc, Sam just needed to move on, get married to Eileen, become the leader he was always meant to.  So what changed?  What was with the shirtless scene, the Austin number and random case there, most of the episode being heavily Sam focused, going through his entire life in a montage?
Anyone else notice the 375 Walker promos, or Jared’s little spiel about Walker and how he hoped SPN fans would “come along for the ride.”
It’s...kinda obvious?  CW wanted to appeal to who they think the key demographic of SPN and Walker is: rural areas in the South.  It would explain a lot, why so much editing, why so Sam focused, the Austin number, the number of Walker promos, all of it.
I’m not saying this is fact, I don’t know that it is, but it is a little suspicious that even in Jared’s panel today, he talked A LOT about Walker and how he hopes SPN fans will watch it.
Why Would the Network Get Involved?
Simply put: $$$
If they think Walker can be the new SPN, and that those crazy SPN fans liked it originally, it’s a lot safer to go with the “original intent” of the show than do something risky (like making one of your two original leads queer).
And?  They don’t care.  They don’t care that the episode didn’t make sense, they don’t care that all the emotional arcs were left hanging, they don’t care by (potentially) smashing together two of Dean’s monologues (one to Sam, one to Cas) that it came of as...gross. ( @curioussubjects​ wrote a beautiful post showing how part of that death speech was likely meant for Dean here).  They don’t care, they never have, they just want to make their money and move on from the too-loud fandom that fought for representation too hard for too long.
It can’t help but feel insidious, which, honestly, it might be, but it really all comes down to the next cash cow, which, they think, is Walker, even at the cost of the fifteen year legacy show.
The Writers and What I Want
So here it is, all this weird, sus shit laid out on the line.  And you know what?  To me, there is no way to blame the writers, because they didn’t want this.
I don’t think Dabb and Bobo would have gone ahead with the confession in 18 without thinking that there would be some closure to that arc, they wouldn’t have done that not only to the fans, but for the sake of their own story as well: no writer wants to start something that they can’t finish. (And this applies to both Cas and Eileen).
Here’s a basic rundown of what I think happened: they had a clear arc from 18-20, ending in reciprocation at some level from Dean, Sam marrying Eileen, Hunter Sam as the new Bobby, Dean in heaven with Cas and big roadhouse reunion at the end. Covid prevented a good amount of that. Network had to stare at big gay 18 for six months, got cold feet. Thought about Walker, target audience and alienation of the rural areas if it went full gay. Misha quarantined and likely shot something (not much), he was then cut by execs and went home. They likely added in lines referencing Eileen and Cas to make it clear but more subtextual. They wrap, editing gets it and hacks it to pieces, so we get a shorter episode that’s mostly montages and jarringly bro-centric with nothing else. Arcs are left hanging. Dabb gets episode but it’s too late, there’s nothing he can do. Actors aren’t told so they can continue to do positive PR for the ending, they all found out at the same time we did: hence almost complete silence about the finale.
And you know what?  They warned us.  I talked about it here, but they’ve been telling us all season that Chuck wasn’t the writer, he’s the network.  I don’t think, still, that they thought it would be cut up like this, into something so unsalvageable that it’s been panned by almost everyone, even people who didn’t care much about Dean and Cas.
Finally, a masterpiece can be ruined by editing, and while I’m not sure even the script they ended up shooting on was a masterpiece (due to the network meddling already), but to me it’s blatantly obvious that it’s no one but the network that caused this, that took away closure for Dean, Cas, and even Sam.
So what do I want?  Nothing really, there’s nothing we can do, but I wrote this mostly to show people that the writers are not your enemy.   In fact, to the people trashing them?  You’re doing exactly what the CW wants you to: blame the obvious targets, blame Misha, blame Jensen and Jared, blame Dabb.  Scream and yell at them on Twitter and about how the show is ruined because of them.  The network keeps their engagement levels high, they don’t get as targeted for their behavior, and just keep moving along.
Just, please, think about who did this,  Mourn the show, be angry, but not at the people who fought tooth and nail for this for literal years, not the people who wanted it more than we did, not the people who cannot say anything because of their careers and the NDAs they’re bound by.
Someone is going to spill eventually, but until then, we just have to wait, and continue to be loud.
