Poppy's got a much bigger role now. MUCH bigger. She had an accidental litter with Jayfeather, and is secretly the mother of Dovewing and Ivypool.

They've been best friends from a very young age. Jayfeather saving her from StarClan is a HUGE plot beat in an arc where he rages against the heavens, culminating with him fighting an angel. That angel? albert einstein Molefall. Her dead brother.

She is also now the one who started Jayfeather's Garden; it was a result of their shared interests from when they were apprentices. They were just messing around and trying to see what sorts of plants they could grow on their own. Eventually, it became something productive and serious.

In terms of personality, she is VERY curious and outgoing. She likes secrets and riddles, learning new things, and solving problems. Poppyfrost is also very fond of going out of camp and just wandering around without a purpose to observe nature, and jumps at the chance to casually visit other territories.

She's the sort of person you ask to tag along just 'cuz you don't want to be alone. Good companion.

Politically though she has a flaw; Poppyfrost hates conflict and prefers avoidance. Even when she agrees or disagrees, if there's an argument she'd like to stay out of it.

For example, in Bonefall TBC, the secret of her oldest litter's parentage is forced out of her by the imposter, but she won't be standing up against him until her mate and child, Berrynose and Cherryfall, die pointlessly. She also avoids conflict through OotS and AVoS.

rewatching with hindsight is interesting because it shows that Elena had a difficult time (at least, far more than she was used to or liked) ~managing Caroline and her reactions even back in season 1. “you’re being ridiculous” “now this is about me and Bonnie?”. ZERO grace, not at all achieving the intended effect (placating Caroline, or better yet, making sure that EVEN when Elena spends an evening semi-subconsciously making sure Matt still puts her in a pedestal in front of Caroline’s face, she won’t actually be emotionally capable of getting angry at Elena, let alone voice such opinions).
