Happy first day of Black History Month and HAPPY 3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO THE BCM COMMUNITY!!!!

It's been three years….three years since we decided to make a small zine server into this beautiful and blossoming community that it is now. We are a space that people seek for advice, comfort, connection, and so much more.

We've come so far and have done so much for creatives of color over the years and we couldn't be happier to continue to serve, uplift, and hype up ALL of you in your creative journeys.

But regardless of how you got here, we're so happy that you're here with us and being your wonderful authentic self.

BUT WE'RE NOT DONE YET!!! 3 years is JUSTthe beginning! As you all know we're working towards becoming an official non-profit to better aid everyone here to the best of our ability.

We are happy to announce that on February 25th, 2023 we will be hosting our first ever 12 hour long fundraising stream!!!! There will be community games, return of past speakers, new speakers, giveaways, live shenanigans and so much more! Save the date on your calendar because it's going to be a BLAST!!!

I read a lot of book series that had been handed down to me by my siblings, but you could really tell whose they were before based on their condition. One sibling left foodstains and dog ears, another left spine breaks and ripped paperbacks, and the final would threaten my life if I so much as dented a page. Such is life with shared things

I guess you could say those books were well loved, for better or for worse lol

(❁´▽`❁) #it's been a very warm autumn in Germany so far so it has not really felt like fall yet #but yesterday it was all rainy and stormy and I had two new books and it was the best day possible to have a slimey cough (: #and now I feel SO much autumn I am close to buying a set of window colors #I do not know what I would to with the window colors I just have this strong urge in me to buy a window color set #the last time I did a window color was at the birtday of a class mate I think she turned 9 and I made a deer #but for some reason we did this craft 5 minutes before we all had to leave so we had to carry our window color deer home wet #unfortunatly for the deer and me I fell down the stairs of her house and smeared the deer all over me and i screamed the entire drive home #which wasn't very long but it probably felt very long for the mother who had a screaming child covered in window color deer inside her car

I have so many thoughts but I at least want to address the "for the new unicorn" note. because first of all it's so incredibly gratifying for izzy to finally be accepted into a community. it was shown before that the crew cares for him in some way but it was the first time he really saw that. that he isn't useless and alone, that he still has a place on the ship. even more so the crew WANTS HIM to be on the ship. and also that they want him to embrace his disability which doesn't make them think any less of him.

but also the choice of words. because inherently it rings queer, unicorn as a symbol of queerness. and even if it may have a negative sound when you use it differently here it is extremely positive. izzy is not only accepted to the crew, he's also accepted to the queer community, to the family. the unicorn on the revenge was also the one that was leading the ship, so one can argue that they want him to take that role in their dynamic.

and you can see that he does so immediately. he puts himself together and starts helping the crew. he's still bitchy but no longer violent and cruel. he helps stede and lucius immensely because that is what he does now. he's part of the family. twat.
