The stories of Hallowe'en poisonings were just that – stories. No one was poisoning kids on Hallowe'en – except this monstrous murderer, who mistook rampant scare stories for truth and assumed (incorrectly) that his murder would blend in with the crowd.
Last week, the dudes behind the "comedy" podcast Dudesy released a "George Carlin" comedy special that they claimed had been created, holus bolus, by an AI trained on the comedian's routines. This was a lie. After the Carlin estate sued, the dudes admitted that they had written the (remarkably unfunny) "comedy" special:

As I've written, we're nowhere near the point where an AI can do your job, but we're well past the point where your boss can be suckered into firing you and replacing you with a bot that fails at doing your job:

AI systems can do some remarkable party tricks, but there's a huge difference between producing a plausible sentence and a good one. After the initial rush of astonishment, the stench of botshit becomes unmistakable:

Some of this botshit comes from people who are sold a bill of goods: they're convinced that they can make a George Carlin special without any human intervention and when the bot fails, they manufacture their own botshit, assuming they must be bad at prompting the AI.
This is an old technology story: I had a friend who was contracted to livestream a Canadian awards show in the earliest days of the web. They booked in multiple ISDN lines from Bell Canada and set up an impressive Mbone encoding station on the wings of the stage. Only one problem: the ISDNs flaked (this was a common problem with ISDNs!). There was no way to livecast the show.
Nevertheless, my friend's boss's ordered him to go on pretending to livestream the show. They made a big deal of it, with all kinds of cool visualizers showing the progress of this futuristic marvel, which the cameras frequently lingered on, accompanied by overheated narration from the show's hosts.
The weirdest part? The next day, my friend – and many others – heard from satisfied viewers who boasted about how amazing it had been to watch this show on their computers, rather than their TVs. Remember: there had been no stream. These people had just assumed that the problem was on their end – that they had failed to correctly install and configure the multiple browser plugins required. Not wanting to admit their technical incompetence, they instead boasted about how great the show had been. It was the Emperor's New Livestream.
Perhaps that's what happened to the Dudesy bros. But there's another possibility: maybe they were captured by their own imaginations. In "Genesis," an essay in the 2007 collection The Creationists, EL Doctorow (no relation) describes how the ancient Babylonians were so poleaxed by the strange wonder of the story they made up about the origin of the universe that they assumed that it must be true. They themselves weren't nearly imaginative enough to have come up with this super-cool tale, so God must have put it in their minds:

That seems to have been what happened to the Air Force colonel who falsely claimed that a "rogue AI-powered drone" had spontaneously evolved the strategy of killing its operator as a way of clearing the obstacle to its main objective, which was killing the enemy:

This never happened. It was – in the chagrined colonel's words – a "thought experiment." In other words, this guy – who is the USAF's Chief of AI Test and Operations – was so excited about his own made up story that he forgot it wasn't true and told a whole conference-room full of people that it had actually happened.
Maybe that's what happened with the George Carlinbot 3000: the Dudesy dudes fell in love with their own vision for a fully automated luxury Carlinbot and forgot that they had made it up, so they just cheated, assuming they would eventually be able to make a fully operational Battle Carlinbot.
That's basically the Theranos story: a teenaged "entrepreneur" was convinced that she was just about to produce a seemingly impossible, revolutionary diagnostic machine, so she faked its results, abetted by investors, customers and others who wanted to believe:

The thing about stories of AI miracles is that they are peddled by both AI's boosters and its critics. For boosters, the value of these tall tales is obvious: if normies can be convinced that AI is capable of performing miracles, they'll invest in it. They'll even integrate it into their product offerings and then quietly hire legions of humans to pick up the botshit it leaves behind. These abettors can be relied upon to keep the defects in these products a secret, because they'll assume that they've committed an operator error. After all, everyone knows that AI can do anything, so if it's not performing for them, the problem must exist between the keyboard and the chair.
But this would only take AI so far. It's one thing to hear implausible stories of AI's triumph from the people invested in it – but what about when AI's critics repeat those stories? If your boss thinks an AI can do your job, and AI critics are all running around with their hair on fire, shouting about the coming AI jobpocalypse, then maybe the AI really can do your job?

There's a name for this kind of criticism: "criti-hype," coined by Lee Vinsel, who points to many reasons for its persistence, including the fact that it constitutes an "academic business-model":

That's four reasons for AI hype:
to win investors and customers;
to cover customers' and users' embarrassment when the AI doesn't perform;
AI dreamers so high on their own supply that they can't tell truth from fantasy;
A business-model for doomsayers who form an unholy alliance with AI companies by parroting their silliest hype in warning form.
But there's a fifth motivation for criti-hype: to simplify otherwise tedious and complex situations. As Jamie Zawinski writes, this is the motivation behind the obvious lie that the "autonomous cars" on the streets of San Francisco have no driver:

GM's Cruise division was forced to shutter its SF operations after one of its "self-driving" cars dragged an injured pedestrian for 20 feet:

One of the widely discussed revelations in the wake of the incident was that Cruise employed 1.5 skilled technical remote overseers for every one of its "self-driving" cars. In other words, they had replaced a single low-waged cab driver with 1.5 higher-paid remote operators.
As Zawinski writes, SFPD is well aware that there's a human being (or more than one human being) responsible for every one of these cars – someone who is formally at fault when the cars injure people or damage property. Nevertheless, SFPD and SFMTA maintain that these cars can't be cited for moving violations because "no one is driving them."
But figuring out who which person is responsible for a moving violation is "complicated and annoying to deal with," so the fiction persists.
(Zawinski notes that even when these people are held responsible, they're a "moral crumple zone" for the company that decided to enroll whole cities in nonconsensual murderbot experiments.)
Automation hype has always involved hidden humans. The most famous of these was the "mechanical Turk" hoax: a supposed chess-playing robot that was just a puppet operated by a concealed human operator wedged awkwardly into its carapace.
This pattern repeats itself through the ages. Thomas Jefferson "replaced his slaves" with dumbwaiters – but of course, dumbwaiters don't replace slaves, they hide slaves:

The modern Mechanical Turk – a division of Amazon that employs low-waged "clickworkers," many of them overseas – modernizes the dumbwaiter by hiding low-waged workforces behind a veneer of automation. The MTurk is an abstract "cloud" of human intelligence (the tasks MTurks perform are called "HITs," which stands for "Human Intelligence Tasks").
This is such a truism that techies in India joke that "AI" stands for "absent Indians." Or, to use Jathan Sadowski's wonderful term: "Potemkin AI":

This Potemkin AI is everywhere you look. When Tesla unveiled its humanoid robot Optimus, they made a big flashy show of it, promising a $20,000 automaton was just on the horizon. They failed to mention that Optimus was just a person in a robot suit:

After rewatching tlok i'm still holding on to my theory that Omashu either was a lion turtle city in the past or still is a lion turtle city and the turtle is just dormant (or dead, which is more morbid but still possible)
If you compare the design of Omashu to the design of multiple lion turtle cities, they both appear to be very stacked cities, with buildings across all different heights. They're both circular cities as well.

The origin tale of Omashu dates from around the conception of earthbending, which we now know to be about 10.000 years prior to Korra's time (aka Wan's time). Oma, the woman from the story, is said to be the first earthbender. Lion turtles granted people the ability to bend, which both Oma and Shu used to make the secret tunnel leading to and away from the city. The difference is, Oma and Shu learned the technique from badgermoles, which is why they were considered so powerful. (Just like Wan, who learned from the dragon during his time away from the city).
There's a very real possibility that there was a war within the turtle city (we saw all the class problems in Wan's city, and humans are gonna human) and in order to escape the war, Oma and Shu asked the turtle for earthbending so they could escape and be together safely.

On the avatar wiki, it also explains that after the era of the spirits, during the era of the Avatar, the lion turtles got hunted into near extinction. Some turtles chose to hide, like the turtle Aang came across in the show who chose to pose as an island. Earth lion turtles are able to bury themselves into the ground. Omashu could very well be an earth turtle that's buried underground to hide from society, and because so much time has passed history turned into myth.
I know it's a loose theory but i just can't get over the fact that the history of earthbending near Omashu and then the history of lion turtles seems to contradict but also align so well. It makes sense that the two lovers were granted the ability of earthbending from their own turtle and then learned how to use it from the badgermoles.

Orin and Durge have their disagreements - Orin is not happy how Durge is running the temple and Durge teaching Orin what Bhaal likes, and offended Orin that her imperfection maybe because of her diluted blood, while Durge is the sole kin and came from blood of Bhaal, Durge is the only one who understands him. Durge does praise Orin saying that she kills beautifully and even Durge cannot achieve that kind of talent/skill.
Orin responds to Durge’s letter - with a threat because her freedom got limited since she gets to spend her time with the other “Chosen” - hence she will craft herself a better Chosen - by putting a worm on Durge’s head to become mindless.
These are all possible because Orin saw the letter of Apology Durge created and felt disgusted by it.
From the Memoirs of Gortash. They met with Ketheric first, Gortash discovered that there was a mind flayer colony and did crown of Karsus Heist. Then the raid to capture and enslave the elder brain. Orin beat up Durge and put a worm in its head. As mentioned, Durge was the very first to be “enslaved”. Then Orin presented herself to the other 2 chosen declaring that they went on a duel she is now the new Chosen. Gortash as one of the original initiator of the plan cannot delay the raid because of leadership issues of one of their allies, it will meant to disrespect the other Chosens and their Gods.
Ketheric was not happy as well with your presence since you came to be commanding in Moonrise towers - which is his domain. The guards were advised by Ketheric to show outmost respect but Durge already asserts its dominance which they believe Durge haven’t earned yet - this was also mentioned by the warden.
Ketheric said that Myrkul mentioned to join with “Orin” and Gortash as part of the Chosen, Durge was never mentioned, as a prize Myrkul will revive his daughter. So Ketheric was just waiting for you to be replaced by Orin. (But in the end when Durge and Ketheric meant - an option will be given if Ketheric will repent to the things he had done, succeeding that option and you will not fight Ketheric but he will throw himself and fight avatar of Myrkul instead.)
After disabling Durge - since it happened in Moonrise and Ketheric is aware - he asked Balthazar to take care of it, to make it a thrall. But since Durge was so beat up, no one expected that Durge will still live until Kressa repaired Durge.
Gortash from his memoirs created a strike team to get the Astral Prism as it serves as a threat to their plans, with the Emperor leading it. Kressas’ husband plead to Balthazar to send away Durge since his wife has been obsessed and doesn’t act like her since the thing arrived. Balthazar then includes Durge in the nautiloid.
Gortash and Durge’s relationship from wiki explains that their relationship is built on mutual respect. They understood the value of alliance, but in the end, it is a battle of dominance, who’s Chosen will win, and who is the God that will prevail. Each of them have plans to either betray or kill each other and control. It just so happens that Gortash plans to defer all none Bane allies to them, Gortash plans to rule over his allies, but with Durge, Bhaal is in the way. That’s why when he founds out that Durge rejected Bhaal - he was thrilled. Happy even, that Durge is not bound anymore to Bhaal, It’s may also be possible that Gortash read the letter of Durge. And sees that the problem with their relationship is that Durge is being held in the neck by Bhaal and the reason for the urges. Gortash understoods that. It also explains why he was genuinely happy when Durge went into his coronation.

I will say that some of your critiques of Prime make it clear you were kinda checked out halfway into season two and the show never grabbed you enough after. Because I loved the show and several of your critiques came completely out of left field. Like things you say weren't explained, were, and your descriptions of the chaos council doesn't reflect how they're actually written in the show. Not trying to change your mind about the show, just something I feel I have to point out.
i'm not sure what you think i missed the explanations for, but i won't discount the possibility that i missed a few things or forgot details from prior seasons. but also i literally went and checked the wiki to see if they had answers for certain things i had forgotten from the first two seasons, and they didn't have any meaningful answers
if i was a little checked out it's because the show sucks and is extremely boring to watch. you are allowed to like it more than i did. you do not have to agree with my opinions. i still think it sucks. the plot details i felt weren't conveyed clearly enough are the least of my problems with the show compared to the fact that i just don't like most of the characters or the dialogue or the conflicts or the settings or the entire premise of the show

Well... i finished both snootgame and volcano high, i needed to talk a bit about them
First of all: I LOVE THESE CHARACTERS SOO MUCH, FANG I LOVE YOU I HOPE TO YOUR HAPINNESS
2:. . .jeez, it's so difficult talk about both games without making parallels or comparing them
SG is a very simpler visual novel with a... very questionable reason to exist to begin with, but even with that it surprises you with a very beutiful story of self development and young love in the modern times. The multiples endings all of them are EMOTIONAL DESTROYERS, even the obvious joke-shouting-super edgy ending 1, but just 'cause all the care and love you have for the characters, you feel it in a more deeply way and you suffer watching them like this, giving you strenght to do the best ending possible and. . .oof, that destroys you too, but in a different way
I love Fang an Anon soo much, i wish them nothing but hapinnes
And talking about the elephant in the room? Well... i don't think snoot game is anti-LGBT propaganda
"B-but it's about fang doing destransicion"
That's the take talking about SG in GVH wiki and i'm not with that
Yes, anon is openly an ashole about lgbt themes and always talked shit about it
And the game treat the whole fang(they/them) with humor. . .both of those things happens between the first hour and the bad ending
As the game progress and anon makes the RIGHT choises you can see him at least try to comprenhend the pronouns thing, and perhaps he makes mistakes about it,but he get that is something important to fang
And yes, there's an ending where fang simply leaves behind all that identity and becomes a generic femenine wife? That's not the true ending
The true ending actually respect that side of fang, with her still liking that style,style being like that, still being fang, the only thing she doesn't keep is the pronouns
To me at least, fang's story isn't just about being no-binary. But being a young person trying multipples sides of their persona and life to try and found itself, with the help of the ones who cares about them to grow as a person
Fang could be a She,a he or them, and i would be perfectly fine with any of those
But if at the end she found herself more happy in this new version. What's the problem? If precisely that's the goal with this theme right?
BUT.... snootgame have a very heavy sin to carry and is. . .it's a 4chan game, and is a parody made to make fun about an openly pro-LGBT+ game
Even with how good the story is, with how NG never attacks directly the community and the movement, it's very hard to believe there's no bit of bath fait in the people behind
We still have all this early shit-talking about this theme after all
But having all in mind. . .i just can't hate snootgame, with it short experience it turned those characters in a very big part of my life (at least for this month lol), and the story touched me in various levels 'cause personal reasons (let's just say i had a "trish" in my life)

I'm sorry,i know what i said but. . .volcano high is broken by so much sides
I really wanted to enjoy it, i really wanted to love this version of the characters and the story but. . .fuck, i can't
Almost all the characters are soo flat (personality i mean)
All and everyone of them talk about ona (1) thing that they like and never shut up about it, you can be talking about anything else and- OH here's comes trish to talk about her worm. . .again, or sage and their cooking, or fang and their band. . .i get it, they're character traits and you need to use them but... i don't know these people, i don't know at all these characters at all.
In the first hald of the game you need to at least try to tell me something about them, their relationships, their past and problems, give me a reason to give 2 and a half shit about them... and they try, but everytime they talk and seems to be about to give some context they start to just talk about that one and only thing they like, leaving me with nothing to work with
And that's the problem of volcano high in general to me. Is obvious there's a story, there's a background to these characters and there's real context to almost every conversation they have. . .but we don't know it, we can't see it, we don't KNOW these people and is frustrating. After the 2 hours i just shuted down my brain and every time this happend i just go "oh yeah,some cute experience we don't know about them)
The two musical montages (there's 2 right?) With photos of the group living their lives and interacting with each other. . .they're very cute and seems to be fun, but we don't live any of this. Fuck sake i WANTED TO BE SAD in the ending, i wanted to feel the characters and their lives sliping away at the end

See al these beutiful and impactful moments? Well. . .i'd love to see them, to live them with them
But we don't. They're just a bunch of PNGs passing by at the end as the music continues. And that upset me a lot...
And what upset's me the most. . .you know why i care so much about the characters? Why i need to know their lives and feel something in this story?
BECAUSE OF FUCKING SNOOT GAME
They made me to care about fang and the gang, abour nazer, about naomi, about stella and rosa, i cared about this characters soo much that. . .i feel attatched to the GVH ones too. Even if volcano high do close to nothing to make me care for them at this level
It's to sad and so unfair, volcano high obviously was made with a lot of heart and they OBVIOUSLY cares about the characters a lot more than almost anyone in both fandoms, just the "memories" from above show it. But with the game story and characters as they are right now. . .i don't want to compare them so much, but honestly without NG being so important i wouldn't finished volcano high
And about the story itself? Well... is very rushed to say at least
As i said earlier they spent too much time trying to made us meet the characters (but without letting us know them)
To sudenly introduce the meteorite plot and. . .it feels zero important. Yeah it drives the characters to the harsh decisions they're making and how they interact with each other, but for half the game the meteorite is just there in the background and just mentioned over here and there as a reminder. Just to sudenly be the most important thing in the world at the last hour and half of the game.
Before that all the plot is about fang,the band and the battle of the bands (wich i hardly care about at this point)
But. . .fang and the band? Here they made it a very good work
Yeah, fang talk almost exclusively about the band as is their (1) personality trait, but still they manage to make me feel and understand how important is this to them, and. . .wow, i really felt how fang was feeling reed and specially trish leaving them behind and not taking the band seriously (and still having fang at the edge with promises of being a team but without helping them AT ALL)
I mean, there's no problem with reed and trish don't seeing the band as something more than some fun friends time after school and wanting to make something else for their life. The problem is they seeing fang talking 24/7 aboud the band their future together and openly taking life decisions about it and never saying "hey pal, i think you should focus more in a solos career, we don't want to live with the music but we're still friends" or something like that. . .and they do
Trish says this to fang. . .in the battle night, just in the most important night in fang's life, just to say that she's leaving the band in this very important moment and taking choises she never discussed with fang (as fang did talk with trish about theirs)
And the story insist on pointing out fang as the bad person here, who makes all the bad choises and burn all the bridges with everyone. . .but they doesn't
Even at the end with everyone crying and yelling each other, is fang who talk to everyone and says they're a horrible person and you can blame everything on fang because. . .reasons? Idk because with all the choises and talking options we taked at this point, we clearly made fang a very patient and caring person, but still there's one and only way the story was made and was with fang being constantly a bitch with everyone, so it doesn't matter if you take the bad or good options to talk about 6 hours, the dialogues are all about the bad ones almost constantly. And that's fucked and unfair for my dude fang the pterodolphin, i love them so much
But. . .not everything is bad with volcano high

The background arts are beautiful and very colorful, a lot of cute dettails and i love them
The characters? Well. . .it's weird, i love them a lot and they're very unique, in the special images and animations they look soo good
But in the normal gameplay...

They look kinda derpy all the time, and the few animations they constantly use for everything get repetitive after a short while (take a shot everytime trish does the eyebrow rise grin animation, tell me how you died)

The art style in general of the game is very cute and i love it, but for the in-game animations they needed some more time to make them. . .feel alive and les akward
And the music?
Hell yeah this is good shit, i love fang's voice and definitely i'm gonna check more of their music soon
In conclusion...
I can see where all of this came from, if that leaked script is real it just makes soo much sence about how the final product ended,i can see every original plot being planted as seeds in the final game but never having the chance to grow or even blossom, just a little sapling in the dirt, and that make me so sad. . .
Even with all of that,they managed to launch the game,and leaving out all the controversy i think the game got very descent sales and everything was kinda worth, i really hope they don't give up again with this type of story
But Ko_On and cavemanon are full of talented people and they deserve a chance to grow and shine by themselves
Both without being a perhaps-bad-faith parody, or without so massive backlash from the wrong people who's not are even interested in the quality but the politics in the games
I don't make this kinde or post so often,but i had to speak my mind about something so important to me

So recently I’ve been having this idea ever since Hazbin Hotel had been getting popular before its release on Amazon Prime. And that idea is to build the Alastor animatronic! Yes you heard me, a fully-fledged A1000 AI-Interactive Alastor animatronic that can walk, run, talk, sing, have thoughts and feelings, and do other stuff that he does throughout the show and has been listed and confirmed in the fandom wiki all on his own! Although this animatronic is going to be the coolest animatronic yet! The problem is, I don’t have a team that can help me build this guy. As A1000 animatronics can be difficult to build without the help of some people. Once the Alastor animatronic gets built, my future team and I are going to start out small by taking him to public places such as animation conventions to earn money through photo ops or autographs (more info will be posted in the near future). Then that money will be used for my other future projects such as building more AI-Interactive animatronic characters from the Hazbin Hotel verse (and others from other indie tv shows (and possibly movies)) and for my largest project which is going to be an indoor indie-animation theme park called Flaming Hydra Entertainment Center which would be located in (to be decided), Iowa. Although I may be in my last year of high school, I will do everything that I can to make this project (and dream of mine) into a reality. i've been thinking about this since i got it yesterday but i wanted to finish the next chapter's draft bc i was on a roll this is SO FUN
i had it in my head that RAD had cheerleaders for fangol but i think i absorbed that from some fics bc there is no mention of them on the wiki SO WE GOT FREE REIGN BAYBEE (also forgive me i haven't seen the movie in a hot minute)

📣 OBVIOUSLY asmo would have no problem gettin in that cheerleading outfit (he probably would design them), i feel like solomon and simeon would have a good attitude about it, and i know i said Diavolo is a judge but you cannot stop this demon from wearing a cute outfit and he deserves it.
📣 in the middle tier, they would all take varying levels of conviction to put on the outfit, but the initial instinct isn't there, right?
📣 and of course, OF COURSE the avatar of pride wouldn't subject himself to the "embarrassment" bc he's a fucking killjoy 😆 he would rock it and he won't even give it a chance

Ithink that Topher's mentality is very well summarized in "I am always right and I am always the good one" because he takes this "woke" mindset and tries to be the best person possible, to the point that he changed his identity so as not to be recognized as one of the worst historical figures, and those are good actions, not being a person with a conservative mentality is good, and I don't think that deep down Topher doesn't believe what he says , I just think that his true desire Is to be loved by others, and the way he tries to achieve it is by being an ally to as many causes as possible, is something he puts so much effort and so much attention that it ends up being something artificial/fake, because he doesn't really wants to be someone educated on those topics, he wants to be seen as a good person and good people are aware of the bad things in this world and do everything possible to change it!!
also it's an easy way to get people's support, and taking into account everything that happened to Abe in ep 1 s2 I'm not surprised that Topher took that path, but Topher is someone intense who gets angry easily and shows the worst of him when he's angry, so those traits of him along with his "woke" mentality only end up making him a hypocrite, because while he goes around shouting that everyone deserves respect, as soon as he gets into an online fight he reaches the point of MAKING THE OTHER PERSON CRY, and he doesn't hesitate to do horrible actions in order to get what he wants
He makes himself seem like a good person, and he says all these things worrying about the problems in the world, but he really doesn't care that much, and that's what's missing, his interest, but what really matters to him is If people like him

I was listening to this song and thinking about Topher, then I remembered that the other day I saw that he is on the villain wiki and I think that's interesting
like, in his introduction he said he doesn't want to be associated with columbus because he is cancelled for being a dirt bag, and that's why he changed his whole identity, because he wants to be a good person
but he isn't a good person, hes an hypocrite, and he's rude with abe even though he was the only person that gave him and opportunity
and he isn't even capable of seeing that, he thinks the bad thing about him is being the clone of a horrible person, but he's just a clone and , as far as I remember, no one has judged the clones for their clone parents
(note?: also I think it's interesting that in the main cast Topher is the only one whose clone parent is known for doing atrocities, but there are background clones like Ivan the terrible so he's not alone )
so yeah, it's not his fault being a clone, but his decisions ARE HIS fault, he's not bad because he's the clone of a colonizer, he wasn't the one who did all those things, and it's not like the other clones exclude him or judge him for that, he's bad because he does bad things like the black mailing, he made jfk cry, he screamed at his mom and he screamed at Abe when he just wanted to do something fun with him!
of course that isn't comparable with colonizing a whole continent 😭😭 but my point is that Topher thinks that he's a good person, yeah he's educated in what Columbus did and isn't proud of being his clone, but he does all those horrible things that had nothing to do with being a clone, and he doesn't realizes that those things things are what makes him a horrible human being, and not his clone father
I think that it's interesting the connection between Topher's relationship with his clone father and his desire to be someone people love

The concept of the overlord always confused me.
He is described as darkness and evil itself. While I have no problem with an unsympathetic villain, the plot of Ninjago has always focused more on a sense of balance especially in the later seasons such as the existance of the Oni and Dragons. So I find it very hard to accept that they make the Overlord a primordial being representing everything evil when the Oni already exist representing destructon- not that Oni are evil (Mystake I love you) but they already represent a side considered dark.
Yes, I know that the Overlord is an already established character from the very first seasons of Ninjago so even if they wanted to change what they said about him, it wouldn't be easy but I wish they involved a backstory for him? Not really but c'mon Ninjago- give me more than just a simple "I was born from darkness"
WHY...WERE YOU BORN FROM DARKNESS? Were you the previous "God" of Ninjago before the first spinjitsu master came? Was Ninjago that "evil" of a realm that the overlord came into being? Did the first spinjitsu master make some big mistake for you to manifest?
(After asking myself that question I went to the wiki and saw that the overlord was born out of darkness because Ninjago was created so what if because of FSM's desperation to make a peaceful world he didn't know th consequemces to that and then the overlord came into being. Man I wish this was canon and they explained it in the show....)
Did you create Wojira or were YOU her? I don't know give me something especially with how complex Ninjago made the Dragon and Oni lore :((((
This is probably Crystalized's fault for messing up the lore so much but I persinally like making sense of canon even when it DOESN'T make sense overall- I mean fanfics and headcanons exist!!!
Continue if you want Headcanons that possibly- most likely don't make sense. They're just Ideas that I thought of that seem cool.
1. Personally, I like thinking that the Overlord is the Oni's leader and not that pushover Oni Lloyd and Garmadon fought in March of the Oni. Like, the Oni migrated right? There were no more Oni in the first realm when the Ninja came and clearly they left a long time before season 9 happened.
Ooohh what if March of the Oni happened cayse the Oni were trying to prepare for the Overlord.
I know this headcanon makes it look like I'm saying the Oni are a one dimentional race but it's just cool if both Oni and dragon (cause there's ultra) came to Ninjago to look for FSM anf while Oni were missing (?) the dragons befriended his sons. Idk it sounds cute.
2. I noticed while watching some Ninjago clips that the Overlord looks like a combination of a dragon and an Oni, like a dark dragon. I mean that's what he transforms into in season 2- Maybe this is why the Dragon and Oni were so desperate to get the FSM on their side cause before him the Overlord came, decided he woke up on the wrong side of the bed, nearly destroyed both species and then they banished him somewhere else.
Oh? You're saying I'm giving a supposedly unsympathetic villain a backstory when he isn't meant to have one? Ya so what? It's an interesting take if I do say so myself even if the FSM lore we're given contradicts me

SAMS fan theory/rant: Is Moon a good brother?
Note: This will be a long rant, but I just want to get something off my chest.
so, is Moon a good brother? More or less, a good brother to SUN? I started coming up with this theory when I read a fan theory of how Sun could possibly die. And some of the reasons were focused around Moon and his relationship with Sun. So, I’m going to deep dive today into the reasons why his is good or bad.
Information 1: Wiki. Im going to start with the Sun and moon show wiki, and see what I picked up from there. I will just be putting examples of how he acts towards Sun. ‘Though he is closed off and puts on an act of indifference towards Sun.’ ‘He can still be mean and insulting, though he seams to try and do this in a playful way. However, he has issues with misplaced anger, often taking it out on Sun.’ ‘His relationship with Sun is not a healthy one despite both parties caring for each other.’ ‘He is also very trusting of sun, despite his gut telling him something is off.’ Those are just a few examples from the wiki. However, something stood out to me. Almost every paragraph I read, it said: ‘Sun comforted his brother’ but I hardly read any ‘Moon comforted his brother.’ You can tell from that, that’s a step down.
Information 2: Personality and impressions. This paragraph will focus on their relationship that we see on the show. When they first met, Moon threatened to kill Sun and make is life torture, just from sharing a body. When they split up, Moon decided that instead of destroying his kill-code he would put it in SUN. That caused the whole Eclipse problem. Soon, they started the show. Something I notice though, is that Sun was a LOT more outspoken, and always told Moon what he was doing. Moon, however, didn’t care. Whenever Sun accidentally said something wrong, Moon would LASH OUT at him. Skip forward a bit, they’re trapped in the bunker. Moon starts blaming Sun for things that Eclipse did, and even PUNCHED his brother. That caused a bit of FEAR in Sun. He left, and hadn’t been the same since. He shied away from his brother, not quite as outspoken as before. Skip forward a bit more. Sun killed Bloodmoon with the barrel. Instead of telling Moon when he asked, he lied, afraid of moons reaction. When moon found out, instead of talking with Sun about it, he locked him in the cellar Sun was scared of. Time travel to after Moon got his memories erased. Sun was having trouble coping. Moon was a lot nicer, and the only thing bad really, was that Moon teased him about his long gone crush on Roxanne. Then, Eclipse. Sun learned star power behind his brothers back, scared to lose him. He even lied to moons face. When moon found out, Sun was In tears from moon yelling at him. Earth even had to step in to help them talk. Fast forward to Eclipse’s ‘death.’ Sun had totally beaten himself up from Eclipse. Yes, moon did care, but Sun was still injured because of Moons mistake. The next few days we’re about moon forcing sun to go to different dimensions. Sun almost died MANY times. Fast forward, eclipse is back. Sun is freaking out, however, he tries to calm his brother. However, like before, Moon just shoved Sun away, yelling at him. The next few episodes, moon teases sun about Roxanne, calls him an idiot, and is just kinda rude. Moon knows this, and though he lost killcode and should be mean anymore, his old anger and hatred is coming back.
Information 3: other siblings and the future
this one will probably be my final paragraph. I really quickly just want to compare these two to Earth and Lunar. When they first met, Earth only have heard of Lunar, she was always sweet. They never hid information from each other, only when it was going to hurt them. When moon first woke up from the reboot, he instantly yelled at Sun. And when earth talked to castor for the first time, she didn’t hide it from lunar, instantly confronting him about it. Sun, however, didn’t tell moon of eclipse, scared of moon response. As for future predictions? Suns death has been teased MANY times. However, many people think someone will kill him. Well, I think that Sun will die, but at the hands of himself. He cares for his siblings, even thought he blames himself. He has mentioned this at his therapy session, though it’s not obvious, that he knows moon talks badly behind his back. I think the only reason he alive right now, is that he wants to fix the problem HE got blamed for, when it wasn’t his fault. And when it does, when he dies, maybe then Moon will finally see what he did.

Seraph of The End and its plot
Let me clarify this: Seraph of The End is a masterpiece, a work of literary art. Despite this, it has a lot of problems with its plot.
Let me state the extremely obvious; Seraph of The End is on an acid trip at this point of the plot. There's a lot of plot twists, and definitely some plot inconsistencies. This is probably because Kagami is changing up stuff so that it matches with his ideal outcome/ending for it, of course. Not to say it's near, since it's still a total clusterfuck and a lot of things have to be clarified before the manga can progress (not to mention it is MONTHLY, so we get 12 chapters per year to work with).
I personally, don't understand how YUU is MIKAELA. This is physically impossible, because, we know that Yuu is the eyeball. Not the fucking human???? unless Yuu is being stupid again and misreading his memories. Like, Michaela named the eyeball, the first Yuu, you know... Yuu. That just doesn't make sense. The eyeball basically gave life to a bunch of humans, so it would more be Yuu's child than a vessel of Yuu. Michaela and Yuu do not appear to be similar at all. You can tell because of the way his personality starts out. A fearful child, and a generic tsundere teenager. He just grows more innocent and foolishly blinded by his affection for life as time progresses. Michaela isn't exactly innocent in the child-like sense, he's more curious. Curious as to why life is... well, life. Honestly, I just don't get it at all. I just have no other way to explain it.
And then, where would Mikaela get his personality from? We know he's a successful clone of Michaela, but we don't know much about him [MIKAELA] as a person. We know a lot about Yuu, he's the first main lead; who the story is about. However, the story is centric around Mika too. So, it's inconsistent and just all the more confusing.
Shinoa Squad, GureMahi, and KrulFeri. (Not using their names as shipping, but more of an abbrev. for their names since theyre seen together) What about them? We have no idea what's going on with them. Since, our original leads in the previous plot arc was centric around them too. Shinoa Squad has been there from the start, so what'll be made of that? Seriously, seems like Kagami just cut them out and forgot them.
The plot is literally inconsistent as shit. Everything went downhill from the conversion of Mika to cursed gear and forth. After that it just got so much more confusing than it actually should be. And yet again, the story falls victim to the plot inconsistencies! Wow. Surprising. The story still remains interesting, but it's still extremely, extremely confusing. This may also ward off newer readers, because it's just not easy to wrap your head around unless you like overanalyzing stuff.

Alright, now there's two possible ship endings that I can think of right now when it comes to our main leads.
A.) MikaYuu. They've been together from the start, they are the epitome of "It was always you", sacrificed everything to be with each other, show parallels to a ship considered "semi-canon" according to the ship wiki (this being GureMahi, as it has the most material to have parallels be made to)., and of course is a fan favorite. This can work, if Kagami decides to please his readers with something that you wouldn't see in a shounen: queers. I can see the world ending again, with Mika and Yuu sitting together, smiling at the destruction. [Although, I picture Mika slightly less happy.] Yuu and Mika watch as their greed has caused all of this, but they just don't seem to care all that much. After all, they're together.
B.) YuuNoa. They're the main leads. Main female, main male. They display parallels to GureMahi as well (but I find they have less), Shinoa's canon crush on Yuuichirou (that I will write a masterpost analyzing later), it's a shounen there has to be some straights somewhere, maybe Shinoa's love will have some good outcome for her. For YuuNoa, I picture that Yuu decides to revive the world (with Mika being by his side, can't kill off the main guy completely), with Shinoa finally having the strength to profess her love. Yuuichirou being like "WOW!! You like me!? AWESOME!!!!" and boom, they hold hands or something.
I'm mentioning these potential endings because shounen has some kind of outcome for their main characters. (ex: naruto's marriage, goku and chichi, ichigo and orihime, etc.) Of course, it's up to Kagami with what he wants to do with the romantic tensions. As for my stance on ships? Whatever seems the most canon at that moment is what I will support. Of course, as long as it isn't fucking disgusting. At this moment, it looks like MikaYuu is going to be canon. This may change, but I'm all for some queers.
SO, to conclude: Owari no Seraph is kind of a clusterfuck, and that's not a good thing. If it's gonna be saved, Kagami has a lot of explaining to do. Potential endings with ships can happen, depending on what Kagami wants to do with the story.

...and God.
Frustrating as the arc's been up to this point, the emotional confrontation hits. I was not prepared for this sharp turn into solid drama.
I think this is why Sigh ramped up the Mikuru bits. They took too long getting to this point (unsurprising in the same season that gave us Eternal Eight) but I get it now. Haruhi's always been the show's main point of conflict but this arc pushes her into full-blown villainy.

There is a point being made here. Courtesy of the group enabling her behavior, Haruhi is getting worse. She started out a selfish, violent misanthrope and now she's getting worse because her actions don't have consequences.
This is the reason, the exact reason, why she can't be allowed to know that her will governs the universe. Filming this movie allowed Haruhi to play God, and gave everyone a real taste of the kind of God she would be.
(I love how ugly her expressions get to be here. Animation quality through the roof for the sake of thoroughly animating the contortions of her face as she scowls furiously and screams her head off at Kyon. For daring to have a problem with her drugging Mikuru.)
It gets so bad that Kyon almost does it. He almost starts The Fight He Can't Win that he's threatened a few times.

Even Haruhi's victim stops him.
He can't hit her. They have to let her do what she wants. Because she's God.
This has been the ominous reality in the background for the whole show up to this point, but here it's really laid out there. How truly, genuinely horrifying this reality is.

Yo, Itsuki just posted his latest Anime Theory about what's going on in the show.
New possibility: Maybe Haruhi isn't God, but rather a divinely chosen human tasked with reshaping the world from the shitsack that it is into something more favorable. And we're the ones selfishly blocking her from her duty so we can continue to linger in the world we like better.
I like how the show doesn't conclusively explain Haruhi. She's a time anomaly. She's the key to cosmic evolution. She's God. She's a miraculous prophet. It's all presented as theories and suppositions by various characters, with no concrete answer ever given.
Because "What is she?" ultimately only matters for academic purposes. We would like an answer so we can type it up for her wiki page. But it's not what the story's about.
What she is doesn't matter. That she is, is what matters. The consequences of her choices matter more than where she came from. She doesn't need to be explained. She's a Weird Cosmic Thing that happened one day in a great and unfathomable cosmos that owes you no answers. We can only observe her and try to make our best guesses.

And now she's suffering consequences.
It's not fair that these people have to bend over backwards for her. It's not fair that the fate of the universe rests on the entertainment squad jangling keys in front of her for the rest of her life. Haruhi was born into the ultimate privilege.
But that is what is. And you have to live in the world that is, even as you work to make it better or keep it from getting worse.
I don't think Kyon did anything wrong here. For once. Haruhi's depressed and... that's concerning, of course. Gonna want to cheer her up before she decides she doesn't like this world anymore or that Kyon and his stupid face should go away.
But someone had to speak up. That Haruhi cares what this trash boy thinks means he is uniquely positioned to tell her off when she goes too far. Which he often does but... this time it actually got through. Because it wasn't just a snippy comment; It was a screaming match that nearly became a fistfight. It was friendship destroying.
God. I relate to this so hard. I have been her. She needed to learn that she can be hurt by the consequences of her choices. Even if that hurt was, in this case, more emotional than physical.
She needed to lose something. Even if only for a day.

I like that Kyon doesn't apologize here. Because he isn't wrong. He doesn't offer her forgiveness because that would undo any personal progress she might have made from questioning herself.
Look at the vulnerability in her eyes as she turns to look at him, before her confident mask slips back on. She's been thinking. She's been experiencing the post-eruption regrets and doubts that always sink in after you lose your head.
People who haven't wrestled with anger management might not know what it's like. But this is how it goes. You scream. And you hurt the people you love. And you storm off. And then you break down and cry and ask yourself why you just did that, why you keep doing that. Why does every relationship end like this? That is what a meltdown is like.
She isn't mad. She wants to be mad. She tries to be mad when he walks in. But she isn't mad. She's scared. Scared that her selfishness destroyed a relationship she'd been taking for granted. And that's a good thing for her to feel. That is the feeling that is going to guide her to better behavior.
Haruhi needed this.
So it's good that Kyon doesn't apologize. Instead, he takes a diplomatic approach, not invalidating what just happened between them but conveying to Haruhi that he is still willing to be her friend. He doesn't offer forgiveness. He offers a second chance to be better.
I don't know if the show will stick this, or if she'll be right back to over-the-top abusing Mikuru next episode. But in a vacuum, this episode got really fucking good out of nowhere.

A/N: hiiI!!! just want to note a few things before you proceed- this is meant to be read as a wlw. Tav isn't described necessarily so it can be read as a gn tav or even a male. but I wrote this with the intention of Tav being femme presenting. I do try to avoid using "he said/she said/they said" so if you see that please tell me so I can fix that since I do want this to be as gn as possible in case you don't imagine a femme Tav. also tav's gender really isn't relevant to what I am planning for the later part, same goes for tav's race.
tav is also meant to be a selunite, but I don't know a whole lot about it, I am actively reading a wiki on it but again, can't make everything lore accurate lolol. hopefully I was able to portray the character correctly! another thing to note is that this is the inbetween of her first romance scene but not in act 2 (aka post tiefling party). so at this point tav and shadowheart kissed. anything else that needs to be adressed i cannot possibly think of so with that, enjoy!!
Upon waking up, you already felt that it was going to be a long day, one that was longer than usual. The sores from numerous fights and hours of walking were ever present from the moment you opened your eyes; the feeling of the Astarion’s fangs wringing your neck numb. You mentally check off the numerous problems before you get out of your tent and set off for the day. Upon leaving the dimly lit tent, you were blinded slightly by the morning light. The smell of breakfast filled the air as idle chatter continued. You take a moment to look at your companions. Gale was the one cooking, making idle chatter with Wyll and Karlach, the latter who was most likely the one who started the fire. Lae’zel was by herself, sharpening one of her many swords. Astarion emerges from his tent, also having just woken up. You continue to scan the camp looking for someone in particular.
‘No sign of her…’ You think to yourself, pouting slightly. From the corner of your eyes, you see Astarion approaching you. Sighing, you can already tell it was going to be a long day. 
“Glad to see you didn’t die last night.” He greets with a smirk. You look at him, already feeling the regret of letting him feed and an oncoming headache. You pinch the bridge of your nose, hoping it will relieve some tension. 
“Well if someone didn’t take any more than he should have, I wouldn’t have passed out.” You quip, to which Astarion lets out a laugh. 
“I did not take any more than I normally do. You just lost a lot of blood yesterday.” He says as he crosses his arms and shifts to the side. You look at him blankly for a moment, thinking if it would be worth it to put a stake in his heart. Listing the pros and cons, it seems that keeping him alive has more pros shockingly. Sighing once more, which was something that happened a lot when Astarion was around, you cast lesser restoration and begin to walk towards Gale, Karlach, and Wyll. However, before you can even approach the trio, you see Shadowheart emerge from her tent.
Your heart skips a beat as you look at her from afar. From the moment you had seen her while on the nautiloid, you had some sort of feelings stirring for her. Just a glance at her tells you how much of a beauty she is. The way her onyx hair framed her face, her braid that swished and would often rest on her shoulders, and the soft makeup that furthers her beauty in a way that feels almost godlike. Not to mention her eyes. The soft hazel green stood out with her darker eyeshadow, luring in the very person who looked into them. However, it wasn’t just her physical beauty that lured you in, it was the subtle beauty that seemingly showed when she wasn’t paying attention.  The soft smile that creeps up her face when you were swarmed by children at the grove, or how she plays with Scratch when she thinks no one is paying attention. You would often find yourself looking forward to fights, just to get injured so she could heal you, watching how her hands would tenderly cover the wound. In essence, her mannerisms, voice, and beauty have bewitched you, terribly. Often you were left lying awake late at night, thinking back on any conversation or memories you have of her. 
Since the tiefling party a few nights ago, you have had numerous things to think of. Truthfully, you were elated that you had agreed to a drink with her, since in your mind it showed that she had a fraction of attraction towards you. While it was hard to tell how she truly felt since she was sharran and they were sworn to secrecy; you did not need words to know that she enjoyed the moment you two shared. The kiss you two shared. The morning after you two had talked about it, and she agreed that there was indeed something between the two of you. However, soon after she began to withdraw herself from you. She would avoid being alone with you, cut the conversation short, and even volunteer to stay behind at camp. It hurt to see her detach herself from any social interaction with you. You even knew that she was avoiding only you, catching glimpses of her talking to the others. However, you found it better to give her her space, something that she appreciated in the past, though it was showing to be harder than you wanted it to be. 
“You know, it is rude to stare.” A voice cuts you out of your train of thought. Blinking, you look at the voice and see that it is Astarion. Confused as to what he is talking about, you give him a look. He rolls his eyes and smacks his teeth. “You have been staring at Shadowheart’s tent for a good while, my friend. A bit too long, might I add.”
Quietly, you let out an ‘oh’ before you turn towards your tent. You decide to start getting ready for the day, no longer hungry. Stripping your camp wear and donning your armor, you mentally summon all your courage so you can ask Shadowheart to accompany you, Gale, and Karlach. Finishing the knot of your boots, you equip your weapons and leave your tent, the blinding rays of the sun stinging your eyes for a brief moment.
‘Moonmadein please guide me.’ You utter in your thoughts before you make your way to Gale and Karlach. Even though you were nowhere near them, Karalach seemed to notice you were heading their way. Turning her head from her conversation with Gale, she makes eye contact with you. Her face seemingly lights up as small flames rise out of her skin.
“Mornin’ soldier!” She hollers. Gale says something to her in a quiet tone, one that you can’t hear. Whatever he told her caused the flames on her to diminish. Looking back at you, she lets out a slightly nervous chuckle and says, “Sorry about that. Just excited to get on the road again.” 
“No worries, and good morning to you Karlach. You too Gale.” You reassure Karlach quickly before you greet the wizard. Gale smiles in return and greets a quick ‘morning’ before leaving, presumably to get his stuff for the road. You look back to Karlach and ask, “Have you seen Shadowheart?”
“Oh, I think I saw she went with Scratch into the woods,” Karlach says, her mood seemingly more down. She hesitates for a moment, before asking “Why?”
“I just want to see if she is us on the road. It has been a bit since she left camp.” You explain, hoping that you weren't evident in your real reason for talking to her. Truthfully you weren’t telling a full lie, you did want to know if she wanted to leave camp for a while. You also just wanted a moment alone with her, in case she didn’t want to go. However before anything else could be said, the bushes rustled slightly. You and Karlach turn to the noise, however, you don’t need to go and investigate since Scratch jumps from the bushes and runs toward you. He jumps onto your chest, tackling you to the ground before he starts to lick at your face. Laughing at the slightly ticklish feeling, you try to move him off of you, not too keen on smelling like dog breath or even having slobber on you. Thankfully he gets off with ease and goes to bother you someone else. Still chuckling, you get up from the ground, with the help of Karlach who is laughing with you. The rustling of leaves happens once more, catching your attention once more. This time it was Shadowheart who emerged from the woods. You briefly make eye contact with her, your heart skips a beat and you shift to move towards her. Though it seemed she noticed you moving, since she looked away first and headed back to her tent, not even uttering a greeting or looking back. Your shoulders sag, clearly dejected at her avoidance. ‘I can’t be like this all day. We have to move forward.’ You think to yourself, quickly shaking the feeling and standing up straighter, putting on the front that you were not bothered by it. 
“It seems like she has no intent on leaving today. I suppose we could drag Astarion with us.” You jest lightly to Karlach. Wanting to leave sooner, you readjust your pack and look for Astarion. Thankfully, he seemed to have read your mind and was already in his gear. You look for Gale briefly and see that he is equally as ready. With a nod, the four of you leave camp and begin the day.

Terry's Birthday: Fandom, the Internet, and Citations
Or, a too long, too in depth essay on a fictional character's birthday
If you aren't thinking I'm a total nerd by the time you're done reading this than you didn't really read this. But, let's start at the beginning. Recently I posted a timeline I made for "Batman Beyond" and in the time since I made that post there's been something I've seen pop up in tags which I'd never heard of before. A few people were saying that Terry's birthday is August 18th. I was really interested in the source of this claim because I had no recollection of ever seeing it anywhere before now. I looked it up on google (as you do) and found this date scattered around the internet. Case closed, right? But I quickly realized there was a consistent problem on every site I came across. None of them cited a source for Terry's alleged August 18th birthday.
Just look it up yourself and you'll find that the date is ubiquitous across the internet. Yet, as far as I can tell after all my research, it's also completely unconfirmed. I mean, I may have missed something, but if I have than someone else is going to have to point it out to me. I also made a post prior to this one asking people to cite a source for Terry's birthday and no one has so far. You can have a look at that post if you want to know what I consider a good source on this subject. In any case, if this date or any other had been confirmed in any piece of media or in an interview with any DC creator involved in Batman Beyond than I think I would have found a citation for that source somewhere by now.
Right now it kind of seems like August 18th is fanon that's been recycled into "canon". This seems to have happened through a process of source-less wikipedia edits being parroted across reddit threads, sites featuring profiles of comic heroes, other wikis, etc. The less popular June 27th birthday for Terry seems to have gone through the same process. As my research continued I came across some possible witness testimony of the first mentions of these birthdates:
a.) In this archived thread from the DCAU wiki, in quotations below, I've copied an excerpt of an exchange between two users that I feel is most relevant to this post (emphasis mine):
"So, I've noticed lately that a lot of different sites have been stating Terry's birthday to be August 18th with various years attached to the date. The earliest mention of which I could find is an edit to his wikipedia page in 2008 (which prior to the change stated his birthday was June 27th). I don't remember a mention of when he was born on the show or tie-in comics, and the third volume of comics didn't come out until 2010, so would anyone here know where these dates originate from? -- ReachingForRevolution (talk) 17:48, September 26, 2013 (UTC)"
"I've done some extensive timeline research, and I never came across a good source for those dates. All I saw was a wikipedia edit war with those two dates, but neither is correct AFAIK. The most cited year of birth is 2023, which is speculation as well, but there's at least some foundation for that. --Tupka217 17:56, September 26, 2013 (UTC)"
b.) A similar claim was made in this thread. The relevant excerpt, written by the user "Yojimbo" on October 16, 2023, is in quotations below (emphasis mine):
"No official birth date was ever given.
There was a wikipedia edit war in the 2000s but no source was ever given for either disputed date, June 27, 2023 and August 18, 2023."
As I've travelled down this rabbit hole, I've begun to suspect I won't be able to find exactly where it began, but this is as close as I've gotten. Allegedly, sometime around 2008, there was an edit war on Terry McGinnis' wikipedia page between at least two users over the birthdates of June 27th and August 18th. Now, how or why that edit war even started, I don't know. Why those dates, I also don't know. What I do know is that August 18th is the birthdate that gained the most popularity in the end and spread across the internet.
I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes with this post or call anyone out, really. If anything, this post exists because the subject was interesting to me and I've found the journey enjoyable. If you want to say Terry's birthday is June 27th or August 18th, then please do. Fandom is about fun, not perfectly sourced and cited dissertations on fictional teenagers' birthdays...unless, of course, that sort of thing is fun for you. I know I've loved every minute researching for and writing this...because I'm a massive nerd...but I certainly don't adhere to a strict reading of the timeline myself which is something I plan on covering in an upcoming addendum to my timeline.
In summary, my own research has produced no officially confirmed birthday for Terry McGinnis. This leads me to believe that August 18th and June 27th are fanon birthdates. It may be that I've just not found the citation for one or the other of these dates so I'm open to anyone who can provide me a good source. But really, none of this matters in the grand scheme of things, although it's interesting to see the way user edited/moderated wikis can sometimes bring less clarity rather than more. I'm sure this isn't the only example of that. Assuming I'm right and these birthdates are fanon, I wouldn't consider this a cautionary tale or anything so dramatic. Instead, I'd say this was a case study in the interaction between fandom collated information about fictional works as it exists across the internet and why the adage, "cite your sources", will never die...or something like that...

What do you think about the short story "A Fear of Fire"? The transcript is on the wiki if you haven't read it yet. I think it's pretty interesting as a concept, even if nobody talks about it much.
To be honest, I'm not super fond of it.
(The basic premise is that Tigerclaw sees Rusty before he was made into Firepaw, and has a vision of fire and freaks out about it. Like an implication that he knows Firestar will be his demise.)
I feel that Tigerclaw having any thoughts or feelings about Firepaw before he joined the Clans kinda cheapens how immediate, horrible, and severe his reaction is to what's essentially a foreign teenager.
In Into the Wild, you get to see how much Firepaw values the respected warriors of ThunderClan, and the respect that he gives them. It's actually Tigerclaw's mistreatment that makes Fire start to dislike him, though he still remains respectful until the secrets about Redtail start to leak from his friend, Ravenpaw. I love how this establishes that Tigerclaw is the problem, because of how he sees Firepaw as lesser, Graypaw as his accomplice, and Ravenpaw as a problem to be dealt with.
The awful treatment of those at the "bottom" of the pecking order is perfect for showing how bad he is, even before you've learned he is a murderer.
So I think that having dislike of Firepaw be rooted in anything else, ESPECIALLY a possible glimpse of his own demise... I hate that. I don't WANT it to be fear-related. I want Tigerclaw to have known NOTHING about this kid, and this is his genuine, honest reaction to an ex-kittypet.
It's pretty rare that I like any retcons relating to TPB though, to be fair.

Of course! I actually have never played Gears Tactics so I had to resort to cutscenes, lol. Sorry if this didn't come out the best, I couldn't find much on his personality so he may seem... off or not very intense :( Any constructive help is appreciated. I feel I could make him more yandere in a short scenario with a plot more than a concept. So things are a bit butchered sadly.

Alright, so I imagine the plot of this concept would take place in Gears Tactics.
Gabriel has been given the job of tracking down the Locust scientist Ukkon and killing him.
In order to take on such a task, since the COG decided to not give him any reinforcements, he has to scavenge COG fighters and Outsiders.
This could be a way you meet him.
You could be rescued as one of Ukkon's human experiments, you could be a COG stranded and taken in, or you could be an Outsider who is ordered to help.
I'm genuinely surprised that his wiki page doesn't say anything about his personality considering he gets a whole game.
The most we know is he's a good leader and tactician, easily able to lead a group and come up with a plan to get rid of Ukkon.
Despite this, he seems to have a more gentle nature when it comes to commanding people than most.
He's seems caring and would show that personality towards his obsession.
It's really upsetting that his personality is... bland because he looks like a nice character.
He's your typical leader character, which means he naturally falls into the caring and protective category.
He seems like he would have sympathy towards his obsession and is determined to make sure they live through this journey.
As long as you can fight... he's happy to have you.
Even if you aren't the best... he could really use all the help he can get to take down Ukkon.
Even as Gabriel begins to not trust the military and leaves, he keeps his eyes on you.
He takes calculated sacrifices and likes to know all the facts before acting.
You mean a lot to him... so he hopes he can protect you.
He is a man who lives to win wars and protect.
It's too bad that he learned the COG is often the source of humanity's problems.
He's level-headed and crafty, good traits in a natural leader.
Gabriel may be controlling and not mean to.
For the most part you can't tell if there's something darker stirring within him.
He's caring and always attentive.
He keeps you away from most of the dangerous fights, but tries to let up on his protective behavior when you call him out on it.
For him it feels like instinct.
You look so... innocent compared to what he's seen.
He's seen blood, death, all sorts of violence.
He fears losing you, he hates failure due to what he's seen at Gatka Ridge along with other battles such as Emergence Day.
He just wanted to be an engineer at one point... but then he meets you, and he finds someone to fight for...
But also gains an entirely new fear.
Gabriel tends to blame himself for poor actions.
He has trauma, when he looks at you he thinks of Gatka Ridge.
It really is incredibly easy to lose what you love in this world.
Gabriel knows that.
You may fight him when he gets paranoid, but to him it's unintentional at times.
He knows you can most likely handle yourself at this point.
Despite this... he wants to help you.
He doesn't want you to leave him, he doesn't want you to think he's overbearing, he feels bad that he's falling apart.
But soon he may just not care what you think.
He doesn't enjoy the fighting too much.
But when he has too... he gets used to the blood coating his skin and armor.
He just wishes you'd listen to him more...
But... perhaps he can teach you some discipline.
Definitely the usual "I am doing this for your own good" kind of yandere, keeping you under high surveillance and restricting your environment.
It only gets worse when he becomes a Stranded after defecting and creates an Outsider group.
Trust issues are often on his mind, feeling hesitant later on towards COG around you.
He hates that you grow to dislike him... that he has you on such a "tight leash".
Friends are restricted, no matter if he's like a parent or a lover with you.
He won't harm them... not unless they harm you.
If you question his authority... his adoration... you'll learn your lesson.
He'll make you see you can only trust him... no matter how much blood is shed or if you have to be in a cage until you learn he's in power.
