it's crazy how cool imogen is. like she legit feels like a superhero (or an x-men char at least)
she is so damn cool. whenever laura describes what she looks like as she's casting spells it's like wow that could've been the lamest spell ever but you made it sound so awesome and powerful

Whenever CR starts their next campaign, what types of DND classes would you find fun or enjoy to see the cast explore?
Ooh, anon, this is a fun question! Let’s see what I can come up with. Travis is the only one that I have an immediate answer for. Listen this has exposed me as a cleric stan, I’m sorry.
Travis: He’s the easiest for me. I’ve known this forever. I want to see him play a Cleric (outside of a oneshot). I want to see him play fullblown spellcaster (not that Warlocks aren’t, but Hexblade, you know?). I also really want to see him play a support class. Travis has put a lot of focus on protecting his friends in both campaigns and it would also be fun to see him play a high Wisdom character. However, since Travis also likes doing massive amounts of damage, I think my second choice for him would be Druid. He’d be a delight with Wild Shape and he would still have the option of being somewhat of a tank, while also having some healing abilities to continue protecting his friends. Oh yeah. For Cleric, I’d pick Light Domain or Order Domain for him. And then Druid, I’d go Unearthed Acana and say he should do the Wildfire circle.
Marisha: She’s played a spellcasting class and a martial class. I think she’s great with spellcasting, but I understand how relaxing it is to know exactly what you’re doing every turn. Ideally, for Marisha, I’d like to see her go either Paladin or Ranger. That way, she could remain mostly melee, but she would also be able to heal (if she wanted) and have access to a little magic. Also, if she were a Ranger, she could pick a Horizon Walker, which would make me so jealous. Horizon Walkers are sick.
Liam: I think it would be pretty fun to see him play a Cleric, too, actually. I’m not sure if it would feel too tedious to play spellcasters that have to prepare their spells two campaigns in a row, but I think he’d be a good Cleric. Second choice... I think he’d also have a good time playing a Fighter.  Eldritch Knight, specifically. Or an Echo Knight, actually. Echo Knight would be cool.
Sam: Again. I’m apparently obsessed with Clerics. But I think about how much he also likes protecting his friends. Sam would be a really interesting Cleric, I think. However, I think that he would also be an incredibly chaotic Sorcerer, which would be really fun. I want to say he should do Storm Sorcery, because I love that subclass, but it might feel a little similar to Yasha.
Laura: I know the popular opinion for her is Bard and I do think she’d be great at it. But I’d actually love to see her get directly into melee and just cause constant damage as a Barbarian. Path of the Totem Warrior. It would be ‘nature’ oriented enough that I think she could continue the trend of having a pet into the third campaign and get away with calling it a character choice instead of admitting she just loves pets.
Taliesin: ARTIFICER! I want to watch someone play an Artificer from level 1 (or 2, I guess). And Taliesin would be perfect for it. He could go back to a high Int class, which I think is his comfort zone, but there is also so much intricacy to this class that maybe he would still feel challenged. I kind of want to say Artillerist, but that might be too close to Percy. I’m actually kind of worried Artificer would feel too close to Percy in general. Alchemist would be pretty funny. He could go a Victor route.
Ashley: ROGUE! Let. Ashley. Roll. A. Decent. Stealth. Check. That’s all I want. Give her Reliable Talent and Expertise, please. Also, sneak attack damage is so freaking satisfying. And the Soulknife subclass is Unearthed Arcana currently, but it sounds really amazing.

c3 class and race predictions, based on how c1 > c2 went
ashley: rogue
i’m very sorry this one is super unscientific of me, but would there be literally anything hotter than ashley playing a rogue?
laura: okay i am so sorry this draft has literally been sitting in my tumblr for months now and i STILL CAN’T THINK OF ANYTHING FOR LAURA. everything she does never ceases to surprise me and all i can say is i’m looking forward to it.
liam: tabaxi cleric
so on top of his emphasized fondness for cats in c2, liam kept saying he would take cree if there was a tpk and yknow what? i fully believe him.
liam…liam is just….ok. guys he’s just overflowing with love for his friends, i’m just waiting for him to play a support class, and we have this pattern of like. in c1 vax loooved magic, was super fascinated by it, and then there was his relationship with gilmore. in c2, while there’s not as big emphasis on healing specifically, mid-to-late game caleb absolutely throws himself into saving his friends, especially with that big pivotal moment of giving the luxon beacon up. also there’s his relationship with jester–“i may be the transmutation wizard, but you are the one who changes people.” soooo yeah. cleric.
marisha: tiefling bard
marisha’s gone pretty tame on races so far. i think that she would a) like to troll taliesin and b) branch out a little from her past characters. i’m predicting lots of terrible tinkerer jokes.
ok i just REALLY want to see marisha play a bard in a main game. she’s good at it. she’s just, kinda fucking amazing in general. and i would loooove to see her in a more perform-y character. beau and keyleth are both socially awkward in completely different directions…i have to wonder how marisha would play suave artist.
sam: kenku
to continue the trend of the small! also, holy shit, the mimicking is SO on brand with sam’s typical “make it a funny thing” > “fucking break your damn heart”. think about “go fuck yourself!” “ooh, i’m a captain” vs “i’m so proud of you” and “welcome to the mighty nein!”. i mean. come on. you KNOW sam would just lay us flat with a line from episode one in the hundredth episode that was a joke at the time but is suddenly heartbreaking
taliesin: centaur artificer
look if anyone’s gonna be a centaur, it’s gonna be taliesin. percy aside, we know he likes the out-there races and appearances. so. centaur
why artificer? cause i think percy has never left the back of taliesin’s head, and based on some of the stuff he’s said on talks that basically amounted to “fuck, shit, caduceus isn’t smart enough to figure that out”, i think he’ll want to go back to an inventive class
travis: aasimar sorcerer
ok so aasimars are kickass. travis tends to play physically imposing characters and i feel like he’d have fun playing with all the appearance variations that they get. plus i personally think it would be neat after ash played a barbarian. like. now they’ve got a thing yknow
i think travis really loved the casting part of being a palalock (wardin?), he took way more levels in warlock than i was expecting. maybe he’s ready to go next level in the spells department? i know he’s said he found it intimidating before, which is why i didn’t predict wizard cause that’s a whooole mess lol

So I am in critical role hell so here is what I would like to see class wise from the cast for Campaign three:
Travis: Sorcerer or Druid. i want to see him as a full caster and a wild magic sorcerer is just up his chaos ally. Also Druid would just be funny because animals Liam: Barbarian. I want to see Liam go ape shit. Marisha: Rogue. I feel like she does well in non magic classes and melee classes. She would make a pretty good rogue. I don't see her going magical again. Ashley: Shes played two holy warrior so far might as well go all out with paladin! Sam: Wizard. He misses magic and it shows! He is also insanely creative and I would love to see a wizard in his hand. Tal: Vague shrugging. Whatever he plays he will be good at it but also like I dont know what I want to see Tal play.
Laura: Warlock. I think she mentioned wanting to play one but also just would be neat to see how she interacts with her patron.

While I’m certainly nowhere near ready for the story of the Mighty Nein to come to an end, I am also a D&D nerd and there’s a new sourcebook coming out soon with a bunch of new subclasses in it. By the time Campaign 3 of Critical Role gets underway, that book will be published, leaving a wealth of new options for the cast members to choose from, so why not entertain myself by making barely justified predictions of what the cast is most likely to pick for their next characters! (Disclaimer: Some of the new subclasses have been confirmed and some haven’t, so for a few of these picks I’m just going off of what I think is going to be in the book).
Travis
Cleric (Tempest Domain): Travis has been playing lowkey EMT since campaign one, and Laura’s already confirmed that Travis almost went cleric for campaign two. Between Grog with his barb-boosted movement speed to get around the battlefield so he could shove healing potions into his squishier teammates, and Fjord multiclassing into paladin and lovingly tapping his friends with single hit points to get them back up, it would be delightful to see him fully jump in and embrace the classical healer role. Of course, this is Travis, so I don’t see him picking a cleric domain that doesn’t allow for at least some whoop-ass, and Tempest Domain brings plenty of it. You get proficiency with all armor and weapons, Divine Strike at level 8 for boosted melee damage, you can use a reaction to inflict lightning or thunder damage against any enemy within melee range that’s hit you. And if you climb up high enough in levels, you gain a flying speed equal to your walking one whenever you’re outdoors. Pretty nifty, and makes for a fitting subclass for a guy that’s voiced Thor on multiple occasions.
Blood Hunter (Order of the Lycan): I mean, come on. The only reason it isn’t number one is that it was already widely assumed this would be Travis’s pick for campaign two, and I wouldn’t put it past him to surprise us again. But still, we saw him get a taste in Liam’s one shot and he was clearly having the time of his life. Besides, we lost Molly far too early to really see the blood hunter’s potential come to life; it would be damn cool to see someone else take a crack at it, and Travis is enough of a D&D gambler to not shy away from the class’s riskier features.
Artificer (Armorer): Speaking of Marvel connections, if Travis doesn’t lean toward fantasy Thor, then fantasy Iron Man might catch his attention instead. Artificer is an official class now, and since it’ll be reprinted in TCoE by the time campaign 3 gets underway, it’ll be a lot more visible as an option. The Armorer sits in almost a perfect middle ground of what Travis has done before: tanky and a frontliner, but also still has spells and tricks to help the party. Plus, you get a badass suit of power armor out of it. What’s not to like?
Marisha
Bard (College of Creation): After Hazel Copperpot, we all saw the pure magic that was Marisha Ray playing a bard. I know she implied that Hazel was supposed to be her campaign two backup character, but I hope this doesn’t discourage her from making another one. There are quite a few bard subclasses, a number of which I could see her being drawn to (Lore, Glamour, maybe even Swords), but I really vibe with the idea of Creation. I can’t exactly say why; maybe the idea of the ‘dancing object’ feature in Marisha’s hands is very funny to me (remember Keyleth’s adorable “Be Our Guest” moment? That, but this time it’s a walking wardrobe beating the shit out of the enemy).
Paladin (Oath of Vengeance/Conquest): As of yet, no one on Critical Role has ever played a paladin from the start, only multiclassed later down the line. I think this would be a cool departure for Marisha. Both campaigns she’s played characters that were either suspicious or at least indifferent to faith and the gods. Paladins are typically associated with deities, but they’re not tied quite so closely to them as clerics are. It would be fascinating to see what she did with it. As for the subclass, I just think Marisha’s earned her turn on the Goth Character Carousel, and while I know Conquest paladin is very unlikely given its moral grayness by default which might cause undue conflict and that Vengeance is a much more likely and acceptable pick, I just think it would be a sexy character choice.
Wizard (Bladesinger/Graviturgist): This is a much more pie-in-the-sky, wishful thinking pick on my end, but not impossible imo. Marisha has experience with heavy spellcasting already, so she probably wouldn’t shy away from a wizard, but like Travis I suspect she likes a bit of oomph to her characters, and probably wouldn’t play as support heavy as Caleb does. To that end, Bladesingers get a bit more survivability and some modicum of physical prowess alongside their spells, while Graviturgists are definitely on the more aggressive side of the spectrum for wizard subclasses, with unique dunamancy spells to boot. I’m not sure how restrictive Matt would be about Xhorhassian characters in the next campaign if it takes place on another continent, but hey, you never know. Plus, she picked one of Matt’s homebrew subclasses for the current campaign; it would be cute if it happened again.
Liam
Druid (Circle of the Shepherd): At some point before Critical Role comes to end (hopefully far in the future), I know Liam’s gonna play a druid, I can feel it in my bones. He's too big of a Kiki fan not to. However, while Circle of the Moon might feel obvious given the potential for homage and how much he likes turning into animals, I feel like he might regard it as getting too close to old territory (also, I don’t know if Circle of the Moon is like an exclusive thing to the Ashari tribes, and if it is that would be rather restrictive for building a backstory). If that’s the case, Circle of the Shepherd feels like the next best bet. It has some great support options via the totems you can put down, and rather than becoming badass animals, you instead just get really good at summoning a fuck ton of them. It’s like Frumpkin, but ten of him. And they’re bears. (Honorable mention: If Circle of the Moon would feel like treading old territory then I’m certain Circle of Wildfire would too, but I’d bet my dice collection it would at least be tempting).
Cleric (Unity Domain): Listen. The pure sap potential that would be at Mr. O’Brien’s fingertips with this subclass is incredible. The domain all about strengthening and protecting the bonds between friends and loved ones?? The domain with the Channel Divinity that can spread damage taken by one creature across the party however the cleric chooses to distribute it to lessen the blow to the individual??? The domain that used to be called the Love Domain???? I’m practically gagging on the soft moments and unspoken devotion conveyed through spellcasting already.
Fighter (Rune Knight/Psi Knight): Liam has yet to play a tank in a long-term campaign, and while I’m more enamored with the potential of the above classes, it would be novel to see him play a character with an actually respectable amount of hit points. However, I feel like if he was gonna commit to a straight frontliner, he’d probably want something a little more unique than a Champion or Battle Master (especially since he’s played those already for one-shots). Rune Knight has some fun options and built-in flavor, and with Psi Knight you can basically be a Jedi. Not bad options at all if you ask me.
Taliesin
Warlock (Fiend): Yeah, it might be expected, or Percy might have been too close to warlock anyway to feel like there’s new ground to cover, but hear me out. Both Percy (who, let’s face it, was a warlock multiclass in all but the actual mechanics) and Fjord were the classic reluctants. They got in over their heads without really knowing what was going on, and once they did they wanted out, cutting ties with their patrons and getting clear with only the scars remaining. I want to see Taliesin commit to a warlock in a way I imagine only he could manage to pull off. How fun would that balancing act be, to have a character that has no intentions of breaking their pact, who’s here for the powers, and is willing to work that delicate balancing act between keeping what he’s got and not letting his contract holder get the better of him? Give it to meeeeee.
Sorcerer (Psionic Soul): Psionic Soul has a bit of that eldritch flavor that vibes with Taliesin so much, with the added interest of introducing a brand new feature to 5E, the Psi Die (with this subclass, using them can do things like letting a sorcerer learn a spell they don’t already know for a few hours, allow you to cast spells without needing verbal, somatic, or material components, and can give you telepathy). Taking both Percy and Molly into account, it seems Tal likes to lean into those unique additional mechanics, and while Psi Die aren’t as risk-heavy as Gunslinger or Bloodhunter, they do add a layer of variability and unpredictability that seems to match his style.
Rogue (Swashbuckler): We only got a little bit of time with Molly, and so missed out on the opportunity to see Tal play a more cavalier character this time around. If he feels like leaning away from spells next time and back toward martial, I think a high-charisma, high-swinging swashbuckler from Tal would be a delight to watch.
Laura
Barbarian (Path of the Ancestral Guardian): Laura deserves to hit things, okay? Yes, spellcasting is great and comes in clutch frequently and Jester’s amazing, but you can tell Laura misses doing fat stacks of damage to the enemy in a single round. I personally think it would be amazing to watch her just cut loose and go full rage machine. As for the subclass, I’m not glued to the idea, but Ancestral Guardians are pretty kickass, have decent support capabilities for a barb without detracting from their DPS at all, and it doesn’t tread on any previous characters’ toes or their aesthetics.
Rogue (Scout/Soulknife): Laura deserves to play her favorite class at last, okay? She’s been class poached two campaigns in a row, and though that resulted in both Vex and Jester and I wouldn’t trade them for the world, Laura has earned first pick. Seeing as she already dipped into Assassin as Vex and Sam took Arcane Trickster, I could see Scout being a viable subclass choice. It’s in the classic sneaky vein, relatively simple in concept, but comes with features that grant easy-to-understand benefits that you can never turn your nose up at (boosts to movement, advantage on initiative, giving advantage against a target to everyone else in the party, etc.). If she’s looking for something a bit flashier, Soulknife has the benefit of retroactively dunking on Vax by taking the basic knife-rogue and making it better, with psionic knives that you can manifest with a thought, that can teleport you around Whisper style, and cranking up that stealth to ridiculous levels by just being able to turn invisible for ten minutes, no concentration or spell needed. The psionic die mechanics are a little funky of course, but I don’t imagine it’s any trickier than learning to manage all those cleric spells.
Monk (Way of the Open Hand): Between Beau just being super cool and her brief stint as Farriwen Breeze, monk wouldn’t be a surprising pick from Laura. An Open Hand monk might be the definitive version everyone knows, but you can’t deny it’s a solid subclass, and between previous overlap and the concepts of the other subclasses just not seeming to fit, I could see the classic being what she went with. But hey, it’s Laura Bailey. She could surprise us with Way of the Drunken Master or something.
Sam
Ranger (Monster Slayer): Let’s be real, I don’t think this would be his actual first pick for a Campaign 3 character, but the amount of shit-stirring he could achieve by making a character with the aim of pissing off Laura Bailey specifically would be hilarious (and since Matt isn’t completely opposed to UA and acknowledges that PHB ranger has a lot of issues, I wouldn’t be surprised if they went Revised Ranger this time).
Warlock (Genie): Actual first pick here, Pact of the Genie Warlock is confirmed by now, and the potential of a warlock in the hands of Sam Riegel is pretty vast (for some reason I’m imagining he would go the ‘spoiled sugar baby’ route). The subclass doesn’t matter as much, but the Genie one is nice in that, depending on the type of genie patron you pick, you can get a wide variety of extra spells, you get a container like a classic lamp or lantern that you can bamf into for short rests, and you get a limited Wish ability for your capstone, all features I feel like would especially appeal to Sam.
Barbarian (Path of the Wild Soul): I want to see Sam play a fairy barbarian. ‘Nough said.
Ashley
Fighter (Eldritch/Echo Knight): Ashley really seems to vibe with the crushing power of martial classes (she does love her brutal kill descriptions), so I could see her sticking with it rather than going back to full caster. However, I do see her picking one of the magical subclasses for some variety after Yasha. Eldritch Knight is a classic and reasonably easy to manage, but tbh I’d LOVE for it to be Echo Knight. And think, if my wishful thinking came true, with Ashley picking an Echo Knight and Marisha playing a Graviturgist wizard, they could link up their backstories and be a traveling Kryn battle duo that left their homeland behind to explore the world!
Sorcerer (Draconic): If she does want to go back to full-time casting, Sorcerer doesn’t require near as much bookkeeping as a cleric, druid, or wizard while still having decent variety, and the Draconic subclass is a bit beefier than the other subclasses. Also, it would be the third campaign in a row where Ashley Johnson’s character eventually got wings, soooo...
And tbh I have no idea what a third pick might be for Ashley, so I’m just gonna throw a dart or two at the board and say either College of Whispers Bard or Way of Mercy Monk *Shrug* We can only wait and see!

i was looking through the mighty nein’s stats and i thought it would be interesting to see what possible choices the team has for multiclassing and what i think would be the most likely/interesting pick. (note, i’m aware that it’s unlikely most of them would multiclass, such as the two clerics who would miss out on automatic divine intervention, but this is just for fun.) gonna base these off of their current lvl 13 stats, and ignore the possibility of changes later, either from ability score improvements, or DM gifts.
beau
beau has access to: fighter, rogue, cleric, druid, artificer, ranger, wizard.
honestly any of these would work pretty well with beau, the only ones that i think she would balk at would be druid (i doubt marisha would dip into that again, plus beau doesn’t seem like the type) and wizard, because of her open distain for most of them. i doubt she has any desire in forming an intimate relationship with a god but cleric would be extremely interesting for her if she wanted to dabble in spellcasting. (knowledge domain?) she could use some range, so ranger wouldn’t be too bad. and artificer would be a great show of her smarts, but those tend to be a little more support, while beau prefers to get up in it. so i think the most likely choices for beau would be fighter or rogue.
dueling fighting style to get an extra +2 damage (assuming her staffs count as one handed? i’m actually not sure. if not then great weapon fighting i guess.) second wind is good and action surge would be amazing on beau, basically giving her six attacks. martial archetype, battle master would be an interesting pair with her ki points.
rogue i feel would be best for beau if she wanted to go ranged (because i don’t know if staffs and fists are finesse) to get that sneak attack unless she’s willing to trade her bo for a shortsword, however you really can’t go wrong with cunning action and expertise. archetype i’d go with scout for skirmisher or swashbuckler for fancy footwork. honestly mixing and matching between rogue and fighter is great for up close melee fighters, like lvl 2 fighter for action surge, and lvl 5 rogue for uncanny dodge. beau would be great with uncanny dodge.
caduceus
cad has access to: bard, druid, fighter, monk, rogue, ranger, sorcerer, warlock.
cad is not a melee fighter, so the physical classes are out (tho monk!cad would be so funny, imagine cad being like “oh ok, time to square up”) and of the spell casting ones bard and druid are definitely the best options.
for the longest time before i watched c2 proper, i thought cad was a druid, and i’m genuinely surprised that he hasn’t multiclassed yet. everything about him screams druid. unfortunately, i don’t know enough about druids to know what set up would work the best for him, but i’d imagine forest or swamp land circle would be good. (spores sounds like it would be a good fit on paper, but cad is really averse to the undead, so that doesn’t quite line up.)
cad’s no singer, but if they got him another bone flute he’d be pretty set with bard. it’d be a really interesting choice for him, just a little more extra support in the form of bardic inspirations and countercharm. jack of all trades would also help off-set some of his more lack luster skills. for college i’d say either glamour, or valor. (valor has that cool feature where you can add inspiration to a damage roll or ac.)
caleb
caleb has access to: artificer, bard, cleric, druid, sorcerer, warlock.
i honestly have no clue what caleb would multi into if he wanted to. none of these options really fit him as a person. i could see him maybe going warlock if he’d gone down a much darker path but he doesn’t seem to care for higher power. really the only option of these that i think he might even consider is artificer, as it’s the only one that uses intelligence. but even that, not really. college of lore bard for cutting words and additional magical secrets?? eh.
tho i will say, with just one more point in dex, he could be a monk, and wouldn’t that be an interesting story beat for the empire siblings.
fjord
fjord has access to: barbarian, artificer, bard, fighter, sorcerer
since fjord already has two classes, it’s unlikely he’d desire to pile more on, especially since he just got a new homebrewed oath and he’ll likely want to get as much as he can out of it. but if he did, i’d say go for bard with that max charisma, or fighter.
honestly i just think it’d be really funny if he leaned back into the texas accent and all his bard songs were country. college of swords (dueling) or eloquence. bard gives him more variety of spells and some extra support.
for fighter fighting style, go for dueling - unless he picked that for paladin, but i don’t think he did - defense, or protection. martial archetype, definitely eldritch knight for some bonus wizard spells.
jester
jester has access to: druid, fighter, monk, rogue, ranger, warlock.
i WAS gonna say “wild magic sorcerer” (various members of the team - who don’t seem to understand how clerics work - made a big point to be like “no jester the magic was always in you!” and it would be interesting if that ended up being true and she was a sorcerer.) but then i realized her charisma is just shy of enough, so i’m gonna say what literally everyone else has already said: warlock.
celestial. the moonweaver. i don’t really think more needs to be said on that, there’s some good metas about it already. (tho, i could also see her being an arcane trickster rogue, but i doubt that would happen because for one, laura already tried rogue with vex, and they already have veth. but if jester did want to try melee, that’s probably what she’d do.)
veth
veth has access to: artificer, wizard, fighter
while it would make total sense for veth to pick wizard, i feel like the arcane trickster part of her already covers that. honestly artificer would be the more interesting pick. i know sam already played an artificer, but so much of veth’s character already covers artificer, especially with how she tinkers around and makes things. it also gives her access to support spells, including cure wounds. honestly i just think it’d be so funny if the nein could ALL heal. (focusing so much on support and healing this campaign has really been the key to their successes honestly.)
veth has a lot of moments where she’s like “i don’t know what do, i can’t get sneak attack!” so having at least the option to heal or throw out a buff spell would up her choices whenever she feels stuck. support artificer spells like flaming sphere, faire fire, and grease can be clutch.
alchemist of course. it would just be such a great way to combine caleb and yeza’s influence on her.
i’ll also say fighter, with an archery fighting style for that +2 damage, extra attack, action surge, and second wind. really can’t go wrong with that. gunslinger fighter would also be super interesting, if matt allowed sam to replace guns with a crossbow, or if veth started using her gun more.
yasha
yasha has access to: fighter, rogue
yasha’s unfortunately low stats make her kind of a one trick pony of “hit things hard” especially since she should stay pure barbarian until lvl 15, where she will basically be unkillable. (plus at lvl 20 barbarians get a sweet ass boost to str and con.) but luckily, all three of these classes work really well together.
fighter: great weapon fighting so she can reroll those 1′s or 2′s, second wind so she can heal herself (that, if she already used up healing hands, pairs up great with rage beyond death and persistent rage. yasha would like, never ever die, never even get knocked out.) action surge for four attacks. martial archetype, go for either champion for that crit on 19, or battle master for those cool features.
rogue: barbarian/rogue has a ton of potential. she’d have to occasionally switch out her greatswords for some finesse such as shortswords and try out two handed fighting, but because she’s almost always fighting next to beau, she’ll get that sneak attack (tho also, wouldn’t going reckless automatically give her sneak attack too?) plus, finesse lets her use the str stat, so she should still be able to apply the rage bonus. there’s a ton of damage possibility here, along with the always good bonus of expertise for a skills buff (never roll a horrible stealth roll again, ashley johnson) and cunning action so she doesn’t have to choose between attacking or dashing/disengaging. plus, if she wants to sacrifice persistent rage, she could get uncanny dodge, allowing her to tank even more. she definitely should NOT do this, but she could also sacrifice rage beyond death to get evasion, letting her handle dex save spells better. like beau i’m gonna say scout for skirmisher or swashbuckler for fancy footwork.
really is a shame her wis is so low, cuz man i’d love to see her try out monk.
just for fun, i’ll do molly too. i only have his lvl 5 stats to go on, but i’m going to assume that by lvl 13, he would’ve focused on raising his already good dex or getting better con (or perhaps take some more feats, like veth) and any other stat under 13 at the time probably would’ve stayed that way.
molly has access to: fighter, rogue, cleric, druid, ranger
cleric (moonweaver) would’ve been really interesting, but i don’t quite have a handle on molly’s character to know if this is something that would’ve fit him. (and there’re a ton of cleric domains, i don’t kno the ins and outs of them all.) he also didn’t seem all that interested in getting some range. so i’m gonna say the best fit for molly going based on his build and fighting style is rogue
molly already used finesse weapons, so getting up in there for some sneak attack would be an easy fit. molly had access to two attacks, so being able to dash on a bonus action to get up to any just-out-of-reach target so he wouldn’t have to waste that action would be very useful. along with being able to attack twice and then disengage. archetype, probably assassin.
i’ll also be basic and say any character who has access to extra attack(s) can’t hurt dipping into fighter just for that sweet sweet action surge. (i currently play a fighter, so i’m a little biased.)
beau, fjord, and veth could also take blood hunter if they wanted. (caleb is one point shy in dex, and jester and yasha in intelligence, but they could too in theory by the grace of the dm.) i don’t know enough about the blood hunter class to know if this is something that would fit them, but considering where the plot is going, it could make for an interesting story beat.

What we’re your thoughts about the book?
Some asks were answered already in this post already so I just smacked those asks in here at the part where I talk about the topic in question, which is why the answer may not 100% fit the question.
Massive “Seasons of War” spoilers below the cut:
First off, of all, this book read like GoT/any zombie movie ever. With the necromancers being like the white walkers, Vile is the night king and daugar are the wights. even with the necromancers crumbling away after Vile got killed Tell me I’m not the only one seeing that.
I think there was a lot of fanservice and some confirmed headcanons in the book, which I really liked. Saracen magic got revealed, there was a return to the Leibniz dimension, the Vile vs Vile fight so many wanted finally happened (tho that was kinda underwhelming) and the Dead Men returned which I’m sure made a lot of people happy.
Ravel poisoning Saracen during the war and Vile being so powerful bc of being dead were two popular headcanons that got confirmed. And I am personally so happy that this book killed the ‘there is no sarcasm in the Leibniz dimension’ headcanon bc I bloody hated that.
Finally, Landy tries to please the old fans instead instead of what feels like purposefully pissing them off. I guess the phase 2 book sales weren’t that great so far (nice try blaming it on the pandemic, but no).
I’m also glad that the romance in this book was kept to a minimum bc The Val/Militsa kiss in the beginning, yikes, fanfiction has better written kisses than that. And the the dialog for the lesbian love triangle (bc for some reason Ms.Wicked aka Laura’s self insert is Militsa’s ex??) was cringy and stiff as hell, it felt more like first graders trying to do a dramatic play and not natural at all.
Surprisingly enough Mevolent’s and Serafina’s relationship seems to be the most healthy and romantic in the entire series and I have no idea if that was on purpose or if Landy just has twisted views on relationships.
I however am actually kinda happy with how Mev was written. He was sympathetic and charismatic, tho some of the stuff he did doesn’t fit to they way he’s characterised when he’s on screen (I know he is probably lying 90% of the time he speaks, but still). Like, banning all languages apart from English doesn’t seem like something a man who cares about culture, literature and art would do. It also seems kinda stupid bc those languages will be forgotten eventually and if they need an old text translated no one will be able to do it. Also, why English? Isn’t Mev old enough that his first/original language should be Gaelic? So weird. I have the feeling this was mainly done so Valkyrie (and with that the audience) can understand what the people on the continent are saying bc I very much doubt she understands/speaks any languages apart from English.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But I loved that Mev was also shown as insanely smart. He managed to outsmart Val multiple times. And I love how he doesn’t need his magic to fight, how quick and agil and skilled he is. So I take it that his fighting style is more based on agility and not getting hit, and he uses brute force only when forced into it (by Darquesse/the Unnamed). I was wondering about that bc his armor is made of leather and chainmail instead of metal plates which is considered light armor and not something a tank type of fighter would wear.
What really rubbed me the wrong way tho was when he was talking Tanith and Skul and more or less stated the war wasn’t a challenge anymore ever since Skul died. Or when he was talking to Val being like ‘you’re more powerful than I could ever hope to be’.It bothers me even more knowing that Val is based on girlfriend!Laura. Does really everyone and everything in-vers, even a big bad like Mev, rub Skul’s/Landy’s and Val’s/Laura’s ego? Big yikes.
Crespular Vies is surprisingly fun. At first I thought the two men going after the Obsidian Blade were hired by the Unnamed, but since that wasn’t the case, I think Crespular Vines hired them that so he could show up in time to save Omen and his friends. I think him opening up to Omen about being Skul’s former partner came too unprompted, too quickly and that he is trying to gain Omen’s trust so he can get close to Skul through him. I think another giveaway that that’s the case is bc one of the men Omen had to meet to get his brother back wore a Cleaver outfit and Vies gave that man probably the same reasoning Omen gave him.
That said Omen’s chapters were surprisingly enjoyable. By what I had heard of others I expected a sad sack that can’t fight worth a damn.
I’m not found of the Temper/Kierre stuff, it came out of nowhere.
Val is overpowered AF, it seems that she can get on Darquesses level with more practise/learning how to keep the doors open. She certainly needs to be nerfed.
Also I skipped the Darquesse chapters bc I’m giving negative fucks about her and the plague doctor.
The last 10% of the book were too rushed and felt like half finished thoughts.
Also I was kinda really bothered by the citizen of the Leibniz dimension. They were cartoonishly racist and it was very pretty black and white for the most part AKA everybody good is in the Resistance and all other sorcerers are evil/corrupt. That is also shown by there being children in the Resistance camp while there was no mention of children in the mage cities. In reality, most people are fairly mellow and it’s just a small percentage that is either really good or really wicked. I would have liked to see more racism towards mortals in form of apathy or ‘the soft bigotry of low expectations’ like I’ve seen it from Serpine in DotL. You know, make it a little less black and white.
Tumblr media
Also, I understand the mermaids, but the bats in Europe were random AF. Like, I would understand it if they were just in Romania/Transylvania as a nod to the Dracula-typ vampire legends originating from there. As a plot-device they weren’t really needed to keep the protagonists from flying bc the danger of getting spotted by necromancer by doing so should be enough of a threat to keep them on the ground. This might seem nit-picky of me, but the bats just seemed so bloody random to me like wtf????
And also bc I’m a slut for magical creatures, I would have really liked to see more of them than just daugar and giant bats. Some undead cut together and resurrected necromancer experiments would have been pretty cool tbh. Like whatever the hell this is.
Something like zombie bears would have also been acceptable, I mean, bears are fucking terrifying on their own, let alone when undead and decaying.
I’m kinda pissed at China that she wanted Skul to kill Nef, but it does seem in character. Of course I still don’t like it bc I headcanon as Nef, Eliza and China having been besties during the war (no matter what canon says, I’m keeping that headcanon). I’m surprised Skul didn’t let Wreath have Nef considering that. Then again, he thought Nef might still be useful. And he was right. I loved how Nef actually had an essential part in saving the world by throwing the bomb. So proud of my boi <3 But Skul refused to kill him even after that. Could it be that Skul is finally getting character growth and development? 👀
Aaaand, China’s continuing to be a tyrant. With Tanith’s sense of justices flaring up shown when he killed the city governor, Erato, and Nef being shown to go after people that betray him (Lorien) I think those two are being set up to go after China to kill her (and to probably kill Creed too). Imagine Eliza joining the team bc she want a piece of China too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel sorry for Baron, but at least he got a few speaking lines this time around. Still, I really wanted Nef to save him. :C Like, he suffered so much before he died too considering he spend a year alone starving and thirsty with broken legs in the middle of nowhere wft, why is Baron getting fucked over like this? #BaronDeservedBetter2020 he is the only honorable person of all faceless followers and he’s the one that gets screwed over in every book he shows up in, why tho- 😭
Speaking of Nef, I absolutely loved him in this book, he was a delight and stealing the show whenever he was on the page, despite being used as  punching bag through pretty much the entire book. If people have always treated him that way I can see why he turned evil jfc that poor man. Despite that, he was still being such a clever, funny and relatable bae <3 He’s described as ‘cynical, and nasty but also kinda cheerful’ and as liking to ‘needle’ people (aka trolling and roasting) by Val and that essentially describes every shitposter on the internet ever. And I so loved the way he roasted Saracen lmao
And how he’s so clever, like the Lorien part was my favourite scene closely followed by how Nef essentially talked Remus Crux into getting himself killed, just 👌 smart snek boi, I love him <3 Also I hope he keeps poisoning everybody thoughts against Skul like how he had already been doing it to Tanith, he’s poison in human form and that’s just my jam.
That obedience bracelet was kinda fucked up tho.
Why does this thing even exist? Aren't electro shocks or any other form of pain enough instead of shutting his nervous system down/rendering him completely defenceless? I feel like some messed up mage 100% used it to keep himself (sex) slaves at some point in time :/ Landy might have gotten that idea from some fucked up hentai. Even the implications of the name "obedience bracelet".... I can’t be the only one that got creepy perv vibes from that thing, right?
Btw what the fuck happened to Harmony? You know, Leibniz Serpine’s girlfriend. She hasn’t been mentioned again. Did she die? She didn’t seem too found of him in DotL, was she plotting against him and he found out about it, killed her and fled the Resistance? Or did she die prior to him leaving and it was part of the reason he left bc she was the only thing that had tied him emotionally to the Resistance?? Or Landy just forgot  she existed. I would not be surprised.
Of course my biggest issue with this book was how he retconned Nef’s magic and how he took his trademark, his red hand, away, but more about that in a different post.
TL;DR: Nef was a delight even though he was done dirty. Mev’s scenes were a 50/50 split between good and bad. I actually liked the Crespulare and Omen chapters. The Unnamed was a disappointment. The last 10% of the book were to rushed and the final fights that were supposed to be the biggest were underwhelming. The rest is meh, didn’t really care tbh. Let’s be real here, I only bought this book bc Nef played a bigger role in it, anyways.

Drunk Mama Bear
"Hey Stark."
Tony looks up from his work on Stephen's suit and Natasha walks over to lean against the workbench. "Who broke what?" He asks as he returns his attention to his current task.
"No one and nothing...yet."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Peter is at Ned's and Clint talked your husband into drinking again." Tony stops. "He just tossed back three jello shots."
"Jello shots?! Those assholes were planning this and didn't invite me?!"
"They did. That's why I'm here."
Tony didn't waste any more time in shutting down the lab and following Natasha up to the penthouse to find the others already tipsy and on the fast road to drunk. From what he could hear, they were playing a game of Never Have I Ever and Tony definitely wanted in on that. So he strolls into the living room and plops onto the couch next to the inebriated sorcerer as Natasha does the same next to Clint. Sam and Scott occupying the third couch.
Empty shot glasses and beer bottles litter the coffee table and Tony raises an eyebrow before popping open a couple of bottles for himself and Nat. So they were mixing different types of alcohol...they were going to be miserable in the morning.
"Stark, you gotta take a couple of shots before you join the game!" Clint says as he pushes a bottle of vodka toward him.
"You guys aren't messing around." The engineer takes a couple of shots as demanded and waves for them to continue the game.
"Never have I ever...done it in an elevator." Sam says.
Both Tony and Stephen take a drink and Scott grins. "Never been a bottom."
The sorcerer glares half heartedly at the ex-con. "I feel attacked." He says with a hiccup before he and Natasha take a drink.
The game went on for about an hour with pretty mellow admissions, but everyone started to get drunker and drunker, which meant the game got dirtier as time went on. What was left of Tony's sober mind was fairly positive that some of the others were trying to get some insight into his and Stephen's sex life and he had to hand it to them. This was a pretty clever way of getting it. It was no surprise that Tony and Stephen were the ones that drank the most so far,  Clint had drank quite a bit, but he had three kids so he didn't get to have as much of a good time as he used to with Laura.
Tony and Stephen had the advantage of soundproof walls and having a teenager that was Spiderman (that went on patrol every night) and could pawn off on Ned.
"Okay. I have to know." Clint starts. "Craziest place you two have done it."
Scott furrows his eyebrows. "Out of everything you could have asked, you want to know that?"
"With how uptight Strange is? Yes."
Stephen snorts. "In the dressing room at one of Tony's overpriced stores he frequents."
"Tell them why." The billionaire grins.
All eyes settle back on the sorcerer and his eyes glaze over as he recounts the memory. "Tony was on the phone with the SI branch in Italy."
Sam scoffs. "Strange." Stephen hums in acknowledgement as he drains another bottle of beer. "I can't believe I'm saying this about you but...you're a whore."
The others burst into laughter and finish their own beers before pulling out the hard liquor again and they all take another shot. That was when everything spiralled out of control and Tony truly saw what Stephen was like when he was black-out drunk. At least when the engineer was involved. He had seen what he was like blackout drunk with the others when Tony wasn't involved, but now that he was, Mama Bear was shameless. He couldn't keep his hands off of Tony, and the billionaire didn't dare try to stop him. The others got drunk enough that when the couple started to openly grind against each other, they didn't even bat an eye. As long as pants didn't come off, they would leave the two alone in their own little world.
Which didn't last very long because Stephen suddenly pushed Tony off of him and declared he wanted a margarita. The engineer watches in amusement as the sorcerer rolls off the couch and rises onto unsteady feet to go make a margarita in the kitchen, and then cards a hand through his hair.
"I feel like drunk sex with him will be amazing." Tony says and Natasha raises an eyebrow.
"Tony, what do you not like about him?"
The billionaire strokes his goatee as he thinks about it. "...that he isn't constantly riding my--"
"Whoa whoa! I don't need the image!" Sam shouts. "I'm actually starting to feel sorry for Peter."
"How drunk are you?" Clint asks. He wouldn't put it past the engineer to only be tipsy but still put on a show.
"Pretty drunk."
"Any chance I can get in on some Mama Bear action?" Scott asks.
"Not that drunk." Tony growls.
The ex-con grins. "You didn't say--"
"Not a chance Lang."
"Can't blame a man for trying." Scott sighs out.
Stephen steps back into the living room empty handed and looks around. "I don't remember why I was in the kitchen."
The other four laugh at the sorcerer's forgetfulness and Tony pulls the man down into his lap. Stephen purrs when the engineer assaults his neck again and then moans lowly when kisses turn into nibbles, leaving behind darkening love bites as Tony moves down toward the collar of his shirt. Scott weakly clears his throat as Stephen continues his wanton noises, and takes another shot before squirming a bit.
Tony then pushes the sorcerer onto the couch beside him and looks at the other four. "You guys weren't kidding."
Sam rolls his eyes and stands up, grabs a teddy bear sitting in a vacant armchair, and pushes it into Stephen's arms. "Here Strange. Peter needs Mama Bear cuddles."
Stephen stares at the stuffed animal for a few seconds before curling around it. "He's soft..."
Tony bursts into laughter when the doctor passes out. "You know what? This isn't stopping me from fun times later...but that's too funny."
"Don't ever get rid of that bear Stark. It's Mama Bear's pacifier when he's drunk." Clint says while grabbing a deck of cards. "Strip poker?"
Sam raises an eyebrow. "Only if Nat doesn't cheat. Otherwise this is a sausage party."
"I'll be nice." Nat assures him. "Especially now that Scott doesn't get to see Mama Bear."
"Don't remind me." He sighs.
It didn't matter. Nat still won and they were all glad they made a rule of keeping underwear on. They called it a night after that since it was nearing two o'clock in the morning, and Tony was kicking them out anyway. He wanted to take advantage of Stephen while he was sleeping. The other four barely stumbled into the elevator (the men stumbled, Nat managed the walk gracefully), before Tony was unbuckling his husband's pants.
"Asshole...you weren't supposed to fall asleep."
_____________________
"...ad..." Tony snorts quietly when someone shakes his shoulder and opens drowsy eyes.
"Wha's wrong?" He rubs his eyes and looks up to find Peter.
He quickly looks over himself and nearly sighs with relief when he finds that his drunk self had the decency to put his and Stephen's pants back on before crashing on the other end of the couch. The sorcerer was still cuddling the teddy bear and snoring softly, and Tony had thrown his legs over the man before covering them both sloppily with a blanket. He groans and holds his pounding head as he sits up and Peter turns toward the coffee table momentarily and then turns back with a mug of coffee and some pain killers.
"What time is it?"
"Eleven. Ned had to go somewhere with his parents so I swung home. I saw you and Mom passed out, so I cleaned up the living room and asked FRIDAY to close the shades." Peter answers quietly.
Tony pops the pills offered to him and takes a long sip of coffee. "Thanks kid. Sorry you had to do that."
"It's okay. I figured you guys needed your own night of fun."
"I don't deserve you." The billionaire pulls Peter close enough to plant a kiss on his forehead. "Did you need something bambino?"
"Nah. Just wanted to tell you I was home and make sure you guys were okay."
This kid, Tony thought as Peter went up to his room. He always looked out for everyone, even during missions, and it always either scared the elder man or warmed his heart. Today he came home and cleaned up last night's mess, and had some coffee made, and Tony quickly noticed the second mug of coffee after Peter had departed. That and some more pain killers for Stephen. This was one of the only times the sorcerer drank coffee.
"Babe." Tony gently slaps Stephen's thigh and the man grumbles. "The baby made us coffee."
Blue eyes slowly blink open and the doctor stares down at the teddy bear in his arms. "Why...no. Nevermind." Stephen sits up and winces at the pain that shoots up his spine before glancing at Tony. "Did I at least enjoy it?"
"You were moaning like a whore so I would assume so." Tony replies with a grin and takes another gulp of coffee.
Stephen tosses back the pills on the coffee table and picks up his own mug once he sets the teddy bear in his lap and rubs his eyes. "I can't believe I let them talk me into drinking again."
"I like your drunk side."
"I have too many sides."
Tony stretches once he finishes his coffee and leans over to give the other man a kiss. "What's the last thing you remember?"
Stephen smirks. "Sam calling me a whore."

A Legend All Their Own, Chapter 57: As Long As They Live
Summary: Vision is home.
Queen Wanda sees no reason to wait. The Avengers scramble to turn the planned Coronation into a Coronation/Wedding.

Tumblr media
Clint and Natasha loaded into the cart to ride back with Laura and the kids. This left Wanda and Vision to take to the sky together, flying back towards the castle. They swooped and spiralled around each other, hearts alight with the joy of their reunion.
"I knew you were coming back for me" Wanda grinned. She'd been flying just below him, so she twisted onto her back to look into his face. "Some were starting to doubt it.."
"Of course I came back" Vision frowned. "I couldn't leave you and the baby.."
Wanda opened her mouth to correct him (babies), but paused, smiling slyly to herself. No, not yet. She'd save the news that they were expecting twins for later, a special little Wedding gift for him.
"Where were you, Vizh?" She chose a different question, flying a loop so that she now hovered above him. "We searched everywhere. A few people were worried that you'd fallen in the river and drowned.."
"I did fall in the river" Vision chuckled, twisting to look at her as she had for him. "But I didn't drown. I think the Mind Stone protected me. Remember how you thought the river probably had a branch feeding into our Spring?"
"Yeah.."
"Well, that's where I ended up."
"At our Spring?" Wanda's smile widened.
"Yes" Vision grinned. "It's so wonderful, isn't it? Meant to be. The only downside was how long it's taken me to travel back from there.."
"It's okay. You're here now" Wanda replied, dipping slightly so she could kiss him. Vision's arms instinctively wrapped around her. The pair hovered there for a moment, enjoying each other's embrace.
"I'm here" Vision promised. "I'll never leave your side again."
"You'd better not. I've missed you far too much."
Both shifted again until they flew side by side, Wanda reaching to hold Vision's hand. Then, the new Queen burst out laughing.
"What's so funny?" Vision asked, although his heart soared at the sound of her laughter.
"Well, there could be a bit of panic going on back at the Castle. I was in the middle of getting ready for my Coronation when Clint showed up with the letter about you, and.. I may have pulled a jailbreak out the window without telling anyone."
Vision couldn't help laughing at that.
"Just like old times then." --
"What do you mean the Queen is missing?" cried Tony. Princes Thor and Loki, and Doctor Strange were also present.
"She was supposed to be getting ready with Natasha" Steve, now Head of the Royal Army replied, equally worried. "I went to ask if they needed anything, and when there was no answer, I checked inside.. Window open, and no Queen Wanda!"
Peter Parker, dressed in fine new clothes reflecting his position as the Castle's new Messenger, hurried over to them.
"I can't find Miss Romanoff anywhere, Captain Rogers" He told Steve. "No sign of Mr. Barton, either."
"Great!" Tony threw his hands in the air. "Great advisers we all are. We've only been at the job a few weeks, and we've lost our Queen before her first big royal event. What if she's been kidnapped or something?"
"Weren't you going to kidnap her before a big royal event?" Doctor Strange asked. Contrary to the panic currently settling over the two leaders of the Avengers, the Sorcerer seemed remarkably unfazed by the current situation.
"That was a completely different situation!" Tony snapped.
"We must search the Castle!" Thor declared. "Search the grounds! Search everywhere until.."
"Calm down, brother" Loki cut him off. "I'm sure there's no need for alarm just yet. We all know Queen Wanda is a little more free spirited than the average royal. I'm sure she's just.."
The rest of Loki's words were cut off by an almighty cheer from outside. The assembled group looked at each other. Then they ran. --
"Are you absolutely sure you want to go ahead with this, Vizh?" Wanda asked him, as the city came into view. "Becoming King is a pretty big life-changer.."
"It is" Vision nodded. "I'm still not entirely sure what kind of King I will be. But I am sure of you, Wanda. If I have you by my side, I can face all the rest of it."
"Well then, soon to be King.." Wanda grinned cheekily as they hovered near the City's edge. They could hear quite a lot of commotion, the streets full of well-wishers out to celebrate Wanda's Coronation. "Are you ready to greet your people?"
"I think I am.." Vision smiled.
"Then let's go.."
A few people were already beginning to point and whisper at the strange figures in the sky. Still holding hands, Wanda and Vision flew over the City walls. They swooped low, and the crowds scattered, but soon erupted into cheers once they recognised their new Queen. They flew onward toward the Castle, gathering a following of excited commoners as they went. The pair soon arrived at the Castle, landing just inside the gates as the Avengers, Doctor Strange, and the Asgardian Princes burst out the front door.
"Where the hell have you.." Tony began, then froze. "Vision! You're alive!"
"Of course he is" Wanda grinned, letting go of Vision's hand now that they were safely home, and moving to rush inside. She had a few preparations to make. "Get him Wedding-ready for me?"
"Uh.." Tony and Steve glanced nervously at each other.
"I will help him, Your Majesty" Loki bowed.
"Thank you. If it helps, he looks really great in teal. Peter, spread the word.. Today we will have a Coronation and a Wedding."
"Yes, Your Majesty" Peter bowed and sped off.
"Nat and Clint should arrive soon via Horse and cart with Clint's family" Wanda added before disappearing inside. "Make sure they're all allowed in.."
"I'll handle it" Steve nodded.
Loki turned to Vision.
"Hmm.. let's see what we can do for you.." --
Surprisingly, adding 'Wedding' to the Coronation day itinerary was not that difficult. Both ceremonies could take place in the same venue, and be performed by the same person, an elderly and slightly eccentric Holy Man who resided in Stanville, and had arrived at the Castle a few hours earlier.
Getting Vision ready, too, was easier than one might have expected. While Vision bathed, Loki raided the Castle's vast wardrobe, finding a fine outfit of teal gold, and a few striking streaks of red, that had belonged to Wanda's father. It fit Vision perfectly.. Once again, meant to be.
Vision took a deep breath, readjusting the Mind Stone's circlet on his brow.
"How do I look?"
"Quite handsome, as far as I can tell" Loki replied with a smile. "Your Queen will be pleased."
"I hope so" Vision took another deep breath. "I think I'm ready." --
"Out of my way, special adviser to the Queen coming through!" Natasha pushed past the group of slightly annoyed Ladies' maids Wanda had shut out, bursting into the room and quickly slamming the door behind her. "I'm here!"
"Great" said Wanda, relieved. "Could you button me up please?"
"Of course" Nat rushed over to help.
Wanda had changed from the gown she'd been wearing earlier into a dazzling white Wedding dress. She'd had the dress commissioned soon after her return to Sokovia, in hopes that Vision would be back before it needed any extra bump-concealing adjustments. Once Nat had buttoned up the back, Wanda settled the veil atop her head, pulling it carefully into place over her face.
"How do I look?"
"Beautiful" Natasha smiled. "Ready to go get married, Your Majesty?"
"Yes" Wanda's eyes sparkled. "I am." --
Vision waited nervously at the front of the Castle's great hall. The Holy Man, an elderly fellow with a moustache wearing strange, dark glasses, sensed Vision's nerves, and gave him a comforting smile.
"You'll do great, kid."
"Oh, thank you Mr..n Um.."
"Stan" the man smiled.
The hall was full to bursting with all the people who had helped Vision and Wanda come this far. The Avengers, Doctor Strange and the sorcerers of the Sanctum Sanctorum, Thor, Loki, Valkyrie and the other Asgardians.
Vision's heart was racing. Then, the door at the far end of the Hall opened. Vision saw Wanda, making her way slowly towards him, and all his fears melted away. Before he knew it, she was standing before him, smiling shyly beneath her veil, and Vision couldn't help smiling as well.
"Hello.." He whispered.
"Hello.." Wanda's smile widened as she whispered back.
The Holy Man was speaking, but neither Vision nor Wanda really heard him, entirely lost in each other's eyes.. Until he cleared his throat, nudging Vision.
"Hmm?"
"Your vow, kid.."
"Oh.. um.." Vision took another shaky breath, searching for words. "Wanda.. I don't have much to give you, except myself. I hope that's enough. I do know that I love you, more than anything else in this world, and I promise that I will continue to love you, always. I will stay by your side and help you to rule Sokovia to the best of my ability, for as long as I live.
Wanda looked up at Vision, happy tears in her eyes, and took a deep breath of her own.
"My life was supposed to be so different.. So much.. Well, looking back now, it feels like it would have been less. I wanted to just run away from it all. Then I met you, Vision, you with your strange wonderful eyes.. And you saw me. Not just as a Princess, you saw me, Wanda, who I really was. I don't know if I can ever express just how much I loved you for that.. And you loved me, just as I was. So, I promise to always love you, just as you are. You are enough, you have always been enough. I wouldn't be here without you, and I wouldn't want to be. Nothing will make me happier than to rule Sokovia with you at my side."
Vision gazed at Wanda as she spoke, entranced by her, his own strange eyes filling with happy tears.
Stan cleared his throat.
"Vision, do you take Wanda to be your wife, for as long as you live?"
"I do" Vision smiled softly.
"Wanda, do you take Vision to be your husband, for as long as you live?"
"I do" Wanda nodded, her eyes sparkling.
"Well then" Stan grinned. "I now pronounce you Man and Wife. You may kiss the Bride."
Wanda threw back her veil, and Vision swept her into his arms, kissing her deeply.
The cheers of their friends and supporters rang in their ears. The newly married couple kissed until it almost hurt, only breaking the kiss when their lungs burned for need of air. After a few moments catching their breath, gazing adoringly adoringly into each others eyes, Wanda and Vision were about to dive in for another kiss, until their Holy Man interrupted again, calling for quiet from the crowd.
"Usually," said Stan, "You'd be allowed to run off and celebrate now, but we have one more piece of business to attend to. If you would both kneel, please.."
"Oh, of course.." Vision knelt, suddenly nervous again, but Wanda's continued presence beside him was a comfort.
Stan moved to take Wanda's crown, one of two sitting on a pair of elevated cushions nearby.
"Wanda Maximoff, do you swear to rule the people of Sokovia fairly and justly, to the best of your ability?"
"Yes" Wanda nodded. "I promise."
"Very well.. then I bestow upon you this crown, a symbol of your commitment to your people.." He gently placed it atop Wanda's head, then moved to retrieve the other crown.. Vision's crown.
Vision watched, his heart racing. The crown looked heavy, and he knew that it was. So many responsibilities, so many people relying on him..
Then Vision felt Wanda taking his hand in hers, flashing him a warm, comforting smile. Almost instantly, his worries began to fade. The crown was a burden, but he could bear it easily so long as he was with her.
"Vision, do you swear to rule the people of Sokovia fairly and justly, to the best of your ability?"
"I swear" Vision replied. Stan laid the crown on his head, the Mind Stone's circlet fitting surprisingly well against it.
"Arise Queen Wanda, King Vision, Rulers of Sokovia!"
Vision and Wanda rose, together, to rapturous applause from the crowd. They turned to each other with amazingly bright smiles.
They'd done it. They'd defeated Ultron, taken back the Castle and the Crown. They were the King and Queen of Sokovia.
But more importantly, Wanda and Vision were together. They were married.
Nothing could tear them apart now, not ever again.

The Monster Hunters s03e06 - The Hell Shaped Room
Back away now if you haven’t listened to the episode just yet.
Oh, hello there, Laura. 💛
Good grief, the slugs. Whose idea was it? (No, don’t tell me, I’d rather not know.)
COUNT ORLOFF!! In Lorrimer’s flat, on Roy’s sofa, having his breakfast. Now, where do I send my money so that we may get the roommates spin-off we all deserve?
(I love how utterly exasperated Roy sounds about the whole situation.)
“This is a beautiful sight. Why did I ever think about killing you, when I can gain so much satisfaction from just moving in with you?”
“The bath is full of the blood you had me bribe out of the hospital.” “Flirt, Roy. I had you flirt it out of the hospital.”
“I mean, he moves in, puts his stuff everywhere, and we have no idea how long he’s gonna stay for.” “Yes, must be very frustrating.” “What are you looking at me like that for?”
“Think of him as a mosquito. A big, unnerving, human-shaped mosquito.”
Oh, Orloff. 💛
(Seriously, I love Count Orloff so much, and Simon was especially marvellous throughout this whole episode.)
“What in the seven hells? It’s gone all quiet, like a film at my house when it gets to the nudey bits.”
Onomatopoeic Roy. Lol.
“It’s such a deliciously simple little plan. Can’t you taste it in the air?”
(I’m still the tiniest bit disappointed that it actually wasn’t about vampires vs. mirrors, even if that only ever made sense in my head.)
“Orloff, there’s a bath full of blood back there with your name on it. Go and fill yourself up.” “I hope there’s a little rubber duck. I like a little rubber duck.”
“Stupid hat.”  💛
“Will you two button it? It’s been an age since I’ve had a chance to stalk through a ruined building dramatically, so I’d rather like to enjoy the moment.”  💛
“I’ve never trusted mirrors either. You think they’re all glassy and nice, then they punch you in the face with their glittery truths.”
Oh! Crisp! That makes sense.
“Do wake me up when something starts happening, or I can kill her, or both.”
“I said it wasn’t snakes.”
“But he chooses to make slugs?” “Yeah, they wouldn’t be my first guess.”
“Do I look French?”
Those bloody slugs have got teeth? Damn.
Orloff. 💛
“I beg your pardon?”
“Like a bloodhound!” “Are you trying to be funny?”
(Like I said, we need that roommates spin-off NOW.)
“Well, imagine I was saying something very serious and doom-laden, but try to put an upbeat spin on it - then take the upbeat spin off.”
I LOVE IT WHEN THEY’RE BICKERING.
“I think he’s trying to roll back time.”
“Oh, typical - you want me for my nose.”
“What? You were born ready to fight the glass eyes of a 16th century sorcerer embedded into a university bursar?”
“You called me a gentleman.”  Oh, Orloff. 💛
“Lorrimer, this is really weird.” “You’ve just noticed this is really weird?”
“Oh! That’s actually very insightful.” “Well, you know, we’ve all been there.”
“So, if I cannot have my paradise, I would rather this world became a hell.” “Oh. Seems a waste after everything.”
Orloff’s evil laugh. 💛
“I trusted you!” “Yes, that was pretty dumb of you.”
“What is this?” “Tea time.”
“Lorrimer! He’s having his Crake and eating it.”
“Less of a ‘but’, more of a ‘bite’.” 💛
(This music’s bloody awesome, by the way.)
“I’m used to us winning round about now.” “Oh, but gentlemen, you have.”
“Oh, dear, we’ve done all this before, haven’t we?”
Eughhh, no. Please.
“Blimey. Is that what you humans call a hangover?”
The girls are coming in to save the day! Hooray!
“Call it a gift.” “I don’t think I will.”
“And my legs! Get out of my legs!”
(How did I forget that Doctor Ladyface and Count Orloff had actually met before?)
YOU GO, MARTINE!
“I need a booze. A pint of booze. The biggest pint you can find.” “So, that will be - a pint, then.” Oooh, that’s a clever joke. 💛
“Oh, look at that. It’s so good to see London back to its usual not-quite-as-horrible state.”
Well, let’s just hope Lorrie has finally learned his lesson.
“Blimey, it’s all getting a bit deep in here, isn’t it?” “Not for you Roy, have no fear.”
Ooooooh. Looks like I’m not the only one shipping it, then. :)
I knew it! Let Roy know - please?
“Maybe when he’s grown up a bit.” “Stewart?” (She totally means Roy, obviously.)
Oh, hello there, Max and David. Nice cameo you got yourselves there. :)
Irene! I had been thinking about her before listening to the episode, and then I completely forgot it because of all the stuff happening.
YES, WE WANT MORE MONSTER HUNTERS, PLEASE AND THANK YOU, KIND SIRS.

Do you have any guesses at the new campaigns character classes? I think Travis will go with matts werewolf homebrew, and Laura will do wizard with a familiar.
Ummmm I’d say I have more hopes than guesses! :P I’ve heard some rumours around, but mostly these are just Things I Would Be Most Excited For:
Travis - Yeah I’d love for him to play the werewolf blood hunter :’D I think it would be particularly rad if he built a Dex-based character so he could kinda take over the scouting/sneaking role from Liam (he’ll also probably want the Dex so he can use ranged weapons, because Grog not being close enough to hit shit was his main frustration late in the campaign). He should DEFINITELY play someone smart so we can all see how evil and cunning he really is~! mwahaha. I have a feeling he could easily be party leader if his character was permitted the intelligence to make decisions. The only thing I know for sure is he’s not playing a monk, because Matt joked about his new character not being able to move 50 feet in a round like Grog could, and monks get speed boosts. And like - even if he’s not a blood hunter, I’m expecting a werewolf plotline B)
Ashley - :( because of Blindspot commitments, I have a feeling she’ll be a class they can afford to lose, so to speak. VM always hurt without their cleric, but like, think how fucked they would have been without their Designated Transportation Druid or That Guy With the Lockpicks? So maybe she could just be something rad like a Barbarian??? :P She’s such a sweetheart I think I’ll enjoy her regardless, though c:
Laura - the rumour I heard was that she was thinking about playing a cleric, but that was from a single comment on one of my posts and I’m not sure where that rumour comes from? Though I think she’d make a fantastic magic-user c:  I like your familiar idea, in which case maybe she’d be a good warlock, especially because then she could have one of those rad upgraded familiars warlocks get c: but then again, I get the feeling they all wanna try something as different as possible. I’d just love for her to be a charisma-caster powerhouse. Sorcerer would be pretty neat, but I’d punch a giraffe for Laura Bard-ley
Liam - I honestly have no fuckin clue whatsoever :’D maybe he’ll go full paladin, just to see what that’s like? I could see him being a magic-user (though not a cleric because he did that in the last oneshot and I have Another Choice for who I’d like to be the cleric) because whenever he uses magic he’s very, very smart about it. Also he should be married to Sam’s character. So maybe he’d end up being a lil bookworm wizard? FUCK THAT’D BE CUTE. LIAM FOR BOOKWORM ELF WIZARD.
Marisha - A STRONGK WOMAN \o/ I don’t even care which kind I just want her to fuckin ELBOW DROP ON ANOTHER BEHOLDER \o/ Momma Currie wants her to be a barbarian. I think she might roll monk because nobody’s rolled monk yet? And I know she wants to play someone who’s not so much the moral core of the party, so she might be a pretty good choice for The Rogue (cuz you always need one). Or she could try one of the specialty Unearthed Arcana Fighter builds and just have a real cool backstory to go with it. Honestly, I really don’t care what she picks specifically I just want her to be Strongk.
Taliesin -  That’s who I want to play the cleric. Some people would love to see him go warlock, but I think he won’t because that’s what we all expect him to do … :P I’ve listened to a lot of interviews with him because I think he’s basically a genius, and he once said that a character should embody a question you want answered, and if you have an answer ready, you’re not asking a good question. I think he stumbled upon a pretty good question in Percy’s back-and-forthing with the gods and I’d love to see him explore that more. Like if anybody at the table were to pick a super interesting god and have a very interesting relationship with them, it’d be Tal. In that same vein, paladin would also work. Either a cleric or a paladin would be quite a departure from Percy’s damage-dealing role, and there were a handful of fights where he was just useless, which seemed to frustrate him quite a bit. Clerics are never useless :P Also, as a side note, I would like somebody at the table to play as a different gender from their own, and I think Tal could pull that off best. I mean Liam did great as Jayne so now I want somebody to COMMIT TO THAT SHIT. :D I think Marisha’d play a good dude character but I stand by my earlier verdict. She must be Strongk Woman.
Sam - I honestly have a hard time imagining him as Not a Bard, which is hilarious because he’s the only one who spent a long time as a character other than his first. Sam seems to pick classes based on a funny character concept and then eventually digs deep into their psyche and finds the horrible sad traumas motivating the laughter, so…I could honestly see him being a barbarian too, tbh :P but I think he might miss the versatility of spellcasting? I’d say he’d make a fun druid if I didn’t want them to go druidless so people appreciate Keyleth even more retroactively they could play a very different kind of game. Honestly, I’m more excited to see Sam’s concept than his class, because with his insane creativity the class itself is almost a moot point :P
So the party I built through this little exercise is bloodhunter, temporary barbarian, bard, wizard, cleric, monk/rogue (that’s a RAD multiclass btw), and ???Sam??. A little more fragile than before maybe, but about even on the sneakies and the spells c:
Other things I would like:
- meet a bb quarter-elf de Rolo
- Zahra and Kash’s kid is Around being Hot and Grumpy
- Gay
- I want somebody to play a warlock of the archfey pact but when I think about them each individually I have no idea which one I’d pick :’D Probably Laura or Sam. Either would be rad.
I like guessing, but I won’t really care whether I’m right or wrong on any of these because no matter what they pick I’m sure I’ll love the shit outta them :’D I love these guys so musch…../sob

Avengers Academy
Chapter 16:
WARNING: THERE IS A SMALL AMOUNT OF SEXUAL CONTENT BUT NOT ENOUGH TO BE CONSIDERED UNCOMFORTABLE. IF YOU STILL FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE, PLEASE DO NOT READ. It's guys night. They chose to do it after training and dinner. Since the place is on full lockdown after dinner they all go into one room. They also somehow managed to sneak alcohol. The only one that has never actually had alcohol is Peter.
He's only had a glass of champagne at some fancy event Tony threw. So he of course was nervous. Some of the guys even thought about dragging some of the girls in but that defeats the purpose of guys night.
So scratch that. Peter also doesn't really know what guys night is considering the only guys he hangs out with is apart of the decathlon. Let's just say his nerves were high.
They even brought poker and cards against humanity. The rules were simple. Clearly they went with the actual rules but also who ever didn't have the funniest card in that turn had to take a shot. "Yo Parker! Come play." A red headed guy said.
He's never played this game before so he had to be taught it. He just prayed his cards made him funny. He doesn't know how he is drunk and sure doesn't want to find out.
"Alright first card. It has one blank. 'Do not fuck with me! I'm literally blank right now" everyone looked down. Peter had zero clue what to put down that made sense. He had Daddy's credit card, alcoholism, a powerpoint presentation, Ebola, becoming a blueberry, and foreskin.
He put down the one about the blueberry because it was the only one that "made sense. He didn't win that one. "I don't know if I should drink this guys." Peter stated nervously.
"Parker boy, have you ever had alcohol?" A blond asked.
"N-no. I haven't." His nervous spewing off now. "Parrrker, Parker, Parker, Parker!" The guys started chanting. Peter gave in and downed the liquid. He made a face at the straight unflavored vodka. Then the burn came.
"If I'm going to do this I'm going to need something different because that was terrible." The guys cheered after Peter said that. One even grabbed his shoulders and shook him.
A few turns in and he has yet to win one. The alcohol is settling in and Peter can really feel it. Everything is slightly hazy and dirty jokes that usually make him uncomfortable are making him giggle like a schoolgirl.
Usually talking about boobs makes him blush but not tonight. "Alright this card has two blanks. Lifetime presents blank the Story of blank." Peter looked down at his cards and he decided to pick Being a mother fucking sorcerer and masturbating.
For once he won the turn. But his luck didn't last long. Will every shot he yelled profanity. So this is what Peter is like. A drunk trying to fit in when in reality he's a giggling school girl who slurs their words.
By time the game was over he was lying on the floor, so drunk you'd think he might get poisoned. Then his drunken mind raced on. Laura. What would she think? Would he still have a chance with her?
Yeah maybe because he's seen her drunk. She's so pretty. He shot up and the best he could, got up. "Aye yay woah, Peter, uh Parker dude. Where yyyyya goin boi?" One of the drunken boys said. Peter whipped around a little fast making him dizzy.
His reaction had everyone dying of laughter. "Ieee need to go ffffffffind Laurwa. I lllllike her." He slurred. "Aye is she da Hotta chick who ya knoooooow has those thingy claw things?" Another one slurred.
"Yup. I call errr though. My roommmate." With that he turned back around and headed out the door. It was extremely difficult getting to her room. He had to use the wall to balance himself. He slowly but surely made his way to her door a sloppily knocked on it.
It took a few seconds and then it opened. "Peter are you?-" before she could finish he fell on her. Luckily she caught him. "Up ssssorrry I'm I'm just so.. ya know uh duh-" He slurred. "Yeah I know." She layered him on her bed.
"Laura?" He got out with his body spread and eyes closed. "Yer pwetty." Laura chuckled.
"Yeah? Why thanks Peter." She joked though she really was flattered. "Laura?" He asked. "Yes Peter?" She chuckled thinking that he was adorable in this state.
"Wha do you think offfff me?" He propped up the best He could and moved over to She could get in. "What do I think?" Laura questioned back. "Yeah. You, you hated meee whennnn thissssstarted." Peter was now sounding a bit sad.
He even looked it. This made Laura feel guilty. "It was a defensive mechanism. I didn't hate you." She pushed him down lightly. Laura knew if she didn't then he'd get sick. She also handed a glass of water to him. He chugged it not realizing how thirsty he was.
"Yoooooou didn answwwer my quesssion." He slurred pouting. Laura sighed. Does she really tell him how she feels? Benefit would be is because he won't remember. He twisted toward her slowly and stared at her. His eyes, though glossy, were kind and hopeful.
"Peter, how I feel about you. You're, kind, caring, hopeful. You're, haha, you're Spider-Man." She paused turning to him. Now they're face to face. She's now biting her lip.
"Peter, you're amazing. Aaaaaaand a bonus is you're attractive. Yeah I said it. I trust you and care about you a lot. If I push away it's because I don't want to see you get hurt.  It's just my karma when I care about someone." She started tearing up even letting a couple go.
Peter, like on the bus, put his hand on her cheek. He leaned up and hovered over her a bit.
Though his breath reeked of alcohol she did care. Him staring at her like that made her for once not feel like a monster.
Like she was a normal girl falling for a normal boy. Peter felt the the alcohol going away. "Laura I know what you're thinking. It's written on your face. You're broken but, you're so, so beautiful." Laura gulped. For once she had no idea what to do. Luckily Peter did.
He leaned down slowly. Laura met him halfway. They never thought this moment would happen. They're kissing. Her butterflies returned and a hand found the back of his neck, pressing him closer. She lay her head down.
For a boy who doesn't do much with girls, he's a hell of a good kisser and she doesn't want to stop. Obviously neither did he considering the fact that he's now on top of her and his hands were getting closer to second base.
Things picked up the pace. Laura had to break the kiss before things went any further. She didn't want to get so far that maybe they'd regret it. "Peter a-are you sure? I mean you've been drinking." Now she's the nervous one.
"Laura it's fine if we don't. Honestly I just want to keep kissing because that was amazing and it clearly says things that we don't want to say." Peter said. Laura giggled and smiled. She just pushed him over and sat on him. Nothing sexual, just "dirty flirting".
They continued to make out until they were too tired to continue. She handed him the biggest shirt she had but even then it was still too small. He slept in her bed that night. This hangover won't hurt as much in the morning.

(AT) Family Is The Best Cure
Tony and Stephen had decided to host a barbeque at the lake house in celebration of their victory in the war against Thanos. Of course everyone was given a couple of weeks to rest and spend time with lost friends and family, but then they figured they could do all that here. Everyone could see each other in one place and Stephen even enchanted part of the house so there would be plenty of space for everyone to stay. Tony and Peter had been sent into town to pick up a few things they forgot, and Stephen was preparing the food. Clint was given barbecuing duty the moment he arrived, Laura helped Stephen in the kitchen, and their kids were sent to play outside. The archer was also given the duty to keep an eye on the younger kids (Nathaniel and Diana), but that was only until Scott and Cassie arrived.
The moment they did and Cassie stepped out if the car, Diana made a happy screech and barreled into the teenage girl's arms. Dia had been shy around the Barton kids since she didn't know them, but she knew Cassie. The teenager always played with her when she came to the lake house with her father, and told stories about the Avengers. Especially Stephen and Peter. Diana hadn't seen Cassie sent Tony left to fight Thanos, so the two had some catching up to do.
"Hi Cassie!"
Cassie smiles and hugs the younger girl. "Hi Dia. Want to help me bring the cookies inside?"
Diana gasps. "Chocolate chip?!"
"Of course."
Cassie grabs a plastic container out of the car and hands it down to Diana before following her into the house. The little girl runs straight into the kitchen and over to Stephen and gently tugs on his pant leg to gain his attention. The sorcerer stops his task of putting together a salad to look down at his daughter and accepts the container of cookies with a smile.
"Who brought the cookies?" He asks softly and his daughter beams.
"Cassie! She made them!"
Stephen looks up when Scott walks in with Cassie and the teenager immediately runs into his arms and hugs him tightly. The sorcerer grunts at the slight impact but returns the hug briefly before pushing her away just enough to look her over. Ever since the kidnapping years before, and because he was so protective of Peter and Diana, the other kids wormed their way into Stephen's collection of cubs. A collection he wasn't even aware he wanted. If their parents weren't available, the doctor was the go-to adult, and even they started calling him Mom. Of course, Tony laughed so hard he cried, and Laura and Maggie encouraged it because they thought it was cute.
He had really become a Mama Bear. Peter had given him the role and he sunk so fast into the deep end of that pool, that he didn't even bother trying to surface. He was content to sit at the bottom. Especially when others underestimated him. One of the kids got hurt or threatened and the parents weren't around? Mama Bear surfaced.
"I missed you Mom." She whispers.
Stephen smiles. "At least one of my unofficial cubs did." He laughs when Laura smacks his shoulder.
"My kids were snapped with you and Peter!"
The sorcerer just smirks and pulls Cassie into his side. "She's my new favorite."
Scott snorts. "Don't let Shortstack hear you say that."
"He and Diana are permanent favorites." Stephen explains smugly and Cassie rolls her eyes as she moves away from the sorcerer.
Tony's voice filters into the kitchen. "...a shiner. I swear I can't take you anywhere."
The engineer himself steps in and greets the new arrivals as he makes his way over to the freezer and pulls out a bag of ice. Peter comes in seconds later covering one of his eyes with the back of a sweater covered hand and he hisses when Tony nearly smacks the bag of ice against his forming black eye. Stephen frowns and pulls both Peter's hand and the ice away to look at the injury, then releases the vigilante's hand again.
"Do I want to know what happened?"
Tony grins. "It was actually pretty funny. Spiderman is not very graceful."
Peter pouts. "Shut up."
Of course Tony didn't. "Get this. He tripped over the curb, tried to save himself from falling, and actually ran into an open door. He literally knocked himself out."
Stephen's upper lip twitches in amusement because that all did sound like something Peter would do. He had faceplanted onto rooftops, smacked against the windows of the towers (Peter blamed FRIDAY for not opening them when in fact she had but he picked the wrong window), tripped over his own feet, and of course, fell into a manhole. They were sure there were other incidents when he wasn't with them or patrolling as Spiderman, but they probably would never know.
"Way to make me look like an idiot in front of everyone."
Laura smiles. "We all know sweetheart."
Peter motions towards Cassie. "She doesn't!" He looks at her with his uncovered eye. "Who are you anyway?"
Absolute silence. It was so quiet, they could all hear the Barton children playing outside.
Diana was the one to break it.
"She's Cassie."
Peter removes the bag of ice and slams it onto the counter to properly look over the fifteen year old girl next to Stephen. "You...survived the snap? You were like...ten. Now you're--"
"Fifteen." Cassie finishes.
Peter gapes for all of two seconds and then quickly picks up his ice again to hold against his blackened eyes. It was a poor attempt to cover the blush he was sporting in his cheeks, but the adults caught it. They just weren't sure if it was embarrassment or possible infatuation. Stephen's brain short-circuited at the thought of either Peter or Cassie forming a crush on the other. All of the kids weren't raised together like siblings, just friends, but the sorcerer was Mama Bear.  They all called him Mom so it was a little difficult for him to look past. He never thought it would be something he would have to.
He shouldn't really be surprised though.
Diana finally grows bored and grabs Cassie's hand. "Will you come play with me outside in my blanket tent?"
"You bet." The female teenager smiles and allows the little girl to lead her out if the house, and Peter watches them go until Stephen clears his throat. The sorcerer returns to his task of throwing together the salad and Peter looks down at the counter, the tips of his ears turning red.
Infatuation. At least temporarily.
Tony's grin only widens at the sight. "Does Underoos have a crush?"
Peter wasn't the only one to squawk in alarm. Scott had too. "Excuse me?!"
Peter holds up his free hand to try and placate the ex-criminal. "No! It's not like that!"
Tony's bullshit radar was blaring alarms. "Yeah, okay. Give that eye a few more minutes under the ice and then go help watch the minions."
Peter flushes again and puts his hand down, and after about ten minutes pass, he hands the ice pack over to his father who returns it to the freezer at the teen makes his way outside. Peter was immediately swarmed by the Barton kids and Diana, who must have wanted to do more than color with Cassie in her tent. Cooper wanted a web trampoline, Nathaniel wanted a web swing, and Lila...well she wanted a moving target to practice her archery on. Her request was overheard by her father who laughed, but the teen turned her down when Diana wanted him to carry her and take her swinging. So he complied with all (but Lila's) requests, making sure that he had a good grip on his sister before taking her swinging through the trees behind the lake house. Cassie helped Lila set up targets.
The swinging didn't last very long, and Peter eventually took Diana over to the trampoline to join Cooper, who kindly eased his jumping for her. The teen makes himself a hammock out of webs and collapses into it, making sure to face Dia and the Barton boys and folds his arms behind his head before looking up into the sky.
That was a mistake. The sky, no matter how many clouds were in it, was too open. It reminded him of the soul realm and it made his chest tighten. Then he was suddenly back there. All he saw was an endless horizon (not even the ruins were there), the damning color of orange, and he was alone. That scared him most. Before he had Stephen and the Guardians, but now there was no one. Peter gasps for breath and makes a sound filled with despair. This isolation was worse than being put into the system.
"...kid...you...breathe..." A voice filters through his manic thoughts. Peter gulps on air in an attempt to get it into his lungs, and then lashes out when a hand is pressed against his chest. His hands only met a wall though. At least a flesh one. "Breathe!"
And he did. The teen takes in precious oxygen and his chest loosens as his vision fades and he finds himself looking up into blue eyes. They weren't Stephen's though. Peter takes in more air as he studies the person above him and his brain finally puts together the pieces and supplies him with Bucky. A few more minutes pass as he calms himself down and the winter soldier slowly pulls his hand away.
"Do you remember?" Were the first words out of Peter's mouth.
"...yeah kid."
The teen glances toward the Barton children who had stopped in their activities and were standing nearby, watching them nervously, as well as Clint who had one eye on them and one on the grill. Did they remember? God, he really hoped not. Some people were lucky enough to not remember the soul realm and he hoped the kids were part of those some.
Peter sits up and Bucky helps him out of the hammock and onto the ground against one of the trees. The older man crouches in front of him and grabs one of his shoulders as someone else forces a cup of water into the teen's hands, and he drains it within seconds.
"You alright now? Do I need to get Mama Bear?" Bucky asks.
"N-No. I'm okay. Thanks Bucky."
The elder smiles and lightly slaps his cheek as he stands back up. "Good. I'll be inside with Steve. Nat will help with the kids so take a few more minutes."
Peter nods and watches the man walk away until Diana and Cassie take his place. "Are you okay Peter?" His little sister asks. "You were screaming."
The teen winces but makes sure to give her a reassuring smile. "Yeah. I'm okay. Just a bad dream." It wasn't a total lie, but he wasn't asleep.
"Do you need more water?" Cassie asks him.
Peter snorts. "Saving me with water again?"
"If I need to." She replies softly.
He ignored that skip in his heartbeat, brushing it off as a symptom from what was left of his panic attack. "No thanks. Sorry if I scared you guys."
Diana did what she did best whenever Peter had a bad day. She hugged him, and she always stayed until he was smiling again. She had her own natural scent that the teen memorized much like his parents, and Dia's was pine and (to his amusement) crayons. The second would probably be replaced as she got older, but for now, it was Diana.
It was comforting.
