Talk about Tousen, Hisagi, and Komamura
Tumblr media
Tosen, HIsagi and Komamura all three of them go through what you could call a “Seek revenge and you should dig two graves”. The two captains who betray, Gin and Tosen both betray soul society for the sake of avenging a loved ones. While they defect they leave two more loved ones behind, Gin abandoning Kira and Rangiku, Tosen leaving Hisagi and Komamura. People who struggle with this betrayal because they still want to see the best in both of them. In both cases, the revenge fails, because Bleach is a story pretty clear with it’s themes revenge = bad. Let’s look more under the cut.
1. Dig Two Graves
Tose is introduced to us as one of the most just and reasonable Soul Reapers. He finds Kenpachi’s battle craziness distasteful, he is a good mentor to his lieutenant and a good friend to Komamura and has their complete and unshakable faith. He is the total contrast of Gin Ichimaru who everyone know was shady right from the start of his character intro, Tosen’s betrayal seems to be the complete opposite of his character (you could say we were blindsided by it).
Tosen’s character revolves around the idea of what falls under justice, and what falls under revenge. One important thing about Bleach is that rather than straightforward good and evil, the manga focuses on balance. For example hollows, the goal of soul reapers is not to exterminate every hollow in the world but rather to cleanse them and return them to the cycle of souls. In fact Quincies seeking to kill hollows causes a problem, because it disrupts that same balance.
The job of soul reapers then is the keepers of the balance. Therefore, they uphold law, when there are people who need to be punished they mete out punishment, it is their supposed job as a guardian force to make sure things are fair and enforce those rules.
Of course Soul Society is not a society of equality, there are nobles who live in riches, while a lot of souls live in extreme poverty, with little chance to rise in the ranks. This is important to establish, because Tosen’s disillusionment comes from the fact that a supposedly fair society is not, and the people who are supposed to uphold that fairness are not doing their jobs properly.
Tumblr media
Tosen’s friend is killed in cold blood by a noble, who then escapes justice. He supposedly became a soul reaper, toe ensure his friend’s dream of justice would not die with her. Of course, this was never his real intention. Tosen  became a soul reaper to seek revenge and not justice, however it’s not just revenge against the murderer he seeks, but rather the entire institution of soul reapers.
I am going to be using Can’t Fear Your Own World, because it provides an excellent follow up to Tosen’s character.
Someone who doesn’t fear the blade has no right to fight.
Tosen always said that. The blade wasn’t just a zanpaku-to. Tosen likened justice itself he brandished to a blade. What Tokinada said was likely the truth. There was no reason for him to lie now, and it was consistent with what Aizen had said. Then, most of all, it was more than enough of an answer as to why Tosen had determined Soul Society to be evil.
Kaname Tosen had despised Soul Reapers and the Soul Society because the existence of the former and the history of the latter were themselves a betrayal of the wishes of Tosen’s own friend.
It wasn’t Tokinada individually.
The Soul Society’s Justice, which covered the world in clouds that could never be cleared, yet continued to give the false hope that clouds could be dispersed, might have been Kaname Tosen’s True enemy.
A society which promises justice where there is none, where soul reapers do not live up to their responsibilities of the keepers of the peace. Tosen’s not wrong for being disillusioned by this society, or even for wanting the laws to be enforced equally. What is Tosen’s biggest flaw is when he betrays the greatest thing he taught Hisagi.
Someone who doesn’t fear their blade has no right to fight. This is the reason revenge = bad essentially, people are not completely objective beings. Yet a person deciding to take personal revenge does so because they believe they are justified in their violence. They are deciding for themselves, who deserves it and who doesn’t. That is what Tosen’s desire to extrajudicial killing is, it’s violence wielded without fear. I am not saying that violence wielded in attempts to reform society are wrong, Soul Society is clearly in need of reform, but there’s a difference between an uprising and an individual deciding to play judge, jjury and executioner because they cannot let go of their own hatred.
And, it’s that decision to wield his blade in hatred that becomes Tosen’s undoing. If you want to look at why Komamura and HIsagi won against him, I would point to the simple fact that both of them were not wielding their blades out of anger.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are not even necessarily trying to put Tosen down, but fighting out of a desire to connect to him, and understand him in a way after having a false understanding all this time. Revenge is inherently destructive, because it attempts to heal a hurt with violence, whereas Komamura and Shuhei didn’t seek revenge against Tosen for his betrayal, their sole desire was to heal their friend.
Which is why it’s tragic when Tosen dies, despite the fact that it is some idea of justice being served, Tosen dying as punishment for all the people he has killed so far in betraying soul society, it’s empty. No one is healed, no one is saved.
Komamura ends up repeating this same mistake as well, perhaps after losing his friend and guidepost in Tosen. Komamura despite having the face of an animal is a deeply human character, whose soul desire was to be a friend to the person who accepted him and humanized him. He then witnessed that friend shed away his own humanity and die horrifically. So perhaps, it’s karmic that when he gives up his animal form and becomes human, he completely throws away his own humanity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Revenge is the betrayal of what the Soul Reapers represent, because they are supposed to be impartial, they’re supposed to uphold the law and be balancers, not wield the law in their own hands out of hatred. But, even when Komamura is lost he is still given solace in the last moment by the power of bonds when his lieutrenant carries him the rest of the way on his back.
Shuhei is perhaps the only one of the trio who manages to overcome the cycle of revenge, because of the three of them he is still able to hold onto the idea of what soul reapers are supposed to be rather than getting disillusioned by it. He sees a harsher reality than the soul reapers he believed in when he was younger, he sees those two close friends fall, but unlike the three of them he is able to keep walking the path. This is Shuhei’s outstanding quality,
However, he would not have been able to do that without his connection to Tosen in the first place. The loss of his friend permanently ruins Tosen. The loss of Tosen and Genryusai permanently ruins Komamura. Shuhei is the only one able to take lessons from the loss of his important master and still remember the good things he left behind.
The only thing supporting him was his pride as a Soul Reaper.
He only had his feet, which walked the path of justice that Kaname Tosen had shown him.  Specifically because of that...  Because he had continued to walk that path with honest integrity .. he was capable of withstanding death, pain and intermittent nihility that assaulted him.
[...]
As Hisagi continued to stand in front of the collapsed Hikone through sheer willpower, he spoke to the child with simple self-admonition in his voice. “This world isn’t kind. Just being alive is terrifying.”
Recalling his past self, then the face of the man who had taught him how to live in this world, he continued in his own words.
“That’s exactly why you’ve got to be kind to everybody around you. And I will try to do that as well.”
Shuhei never stops fearing his own blade, and remembering that violence is scary, it’s harmful. Which is why unlike his mentors he is able to introduce more kindness into the world instead of violence.

Old Ruler meta.... but I might as well put them down in words.
Like long time ago I used to remember how people said that Gaeun was such a damsel in distress and really an unimportant character (and her sole contribution to helping Seon in his venture was just to find the proof that would identity that Seon was the true king.) I mean, nothing against Hwagun really (I love her as well), but yeah it used to bother me how much Gaeun was hated by the fandom just because she was the canon love interest to Seon. I mean, like it or not... Gaeun was the one that became the source of strength to Seon much as she was to Iseon. So even if she still had her own share of thoughtless/bad decisions in the drama, it didn't render her character to be pointless or bad just as it doesn't for Hwagun.
Tumblr media
And these particular scenes establish that very clearly.
Tumblr media
Seon's words really hit the mark here. "How can a man who couldn't protect the woman he loved protect the people of the nation?" Like seriously, would one still be able to continue being a kind and benevolent ruler if they could easily sacrifice the person whom they supposed to love with all their hearts so easily? Would someone who weighed his own life to be more important than the lives of the people he cared a lot be a good ruler? Doubt so. No matter how noble ones character's could be, how noble one’s cause could be... it’ll be a matter of time before one’s soul would be corrupted.
Tumblr media
And Seon did confirm this fact again as he did a few times before. Had he actually listen to the others and gave up on saving Gaeun, he wouldn't be the same person anymore.
Tumblr media
How could he? Sure, if he had let down Gaeun to save himself, he and Chungwoon wouldn't have been poisoned and hurt (yes) but it'll still leave a mark inside his heart. Even if Daemok wouldn't kill Gaeun right away, by not immediately saving her Seon's actions would've implied to Gaeun that in truth she was really no more important than his own life (and reaffirm her earlier assumption that Seon was only playing with her heart) Then how could he still claim to deserve Gaeun's love more than Iseon? Seon had lost so many of his own people, his own parents. If he lost Gaeun as well it would've devastate him. He would really resent Daemok and would just be bent on seeking revenge, just like when his parents were killed. How could he then justify himself to be a better person compared to Daemok? After all, Daemok started this all initially to protect his family, to get his own justice after all of the cruelty he received. Yet what happened to him now? Not only did he end up becoming a tyrannical leader of a group that controls the kingdom with poison, he went as far as to kill his own granddaughter to protect his cause. He practically killed the people (his family) whom he was supposed to protect by forming the Pyeonsu Group.
Tumblr media
So in the end, Gaeun was really an important person that was needed by Seon's side. And he DID say so that he needed Gaeun by his side to keep him from ever becoming like Daemok. And I really like the way Seon decide to fight back against the ministers' pressure on him (to force him to give up on Gaeun) by threatening to just give up the throne, cos really that'll teach 'em the lesson that they can't bully Seon the way ministers at the palace tend to pressure the king to act under their thumb.

do you ever just rewatch a movie you fucking love
and pick up on more things that just make you love the movie more?
like, the first swordfighting scene in the princess bride is just so good. the pacing is immaculate. slow at the beginning, testing each others reflexes and skill, before starting to properly fight, both using their left hands as to not use all their power, and the change of pace as inigo swaps to his right hand, and again when dreaded pirate roberts does it, and then inigo moving faster more rash as he's starting to lose whilst roberts makes smaller more tactical movements, which gives him the chance to disarm inigo -
and also story wise, roberts wins the three trials at the beginning, because he's fighting for true love, Buttercup, whilst the other three weren't. they were just doing their jobs. Whilst Inigo manages to win his last fight, because he's fighting for true love, his father, whilst the sixth fingered man was doing it simply to kill Inigo.
(like a ramble about that last fight, the pacing was so wrong. so so wrong. fights go eiter at the same pace, or fast to slow, as people tire themselves out, but that one, is the opposite. so slow at the beginning, but moves faster - and we get to see inigo's fencing mastery so well. two of the blows he recieved should have killed him, but ever when barely able to move, he could deflect them with the slight move of his sword, so they hit his arm instead of his heart - and and he gives the man the same injuries he recieved from him, and made the guy beg him to spare his life, to give him everything (which the man does beg) before stabbign him and going "i want my father back you son of a bitch" which is just chef kiss)
and just the characters in general, like, fezzik is just such a sweet man who's always optimistic and kind and helps people when he can, and westly's humour and confidence and sincerity even if he's a jerk at times, and buttercup who is a damsel in distress but will fucking stand her ground and insult people if she wants to, even the villains are hilarious and interesting!
and dont get me started on the music in this movie- especially in inigo's last fight- (the music goes to the beat of the hits!)

Most Interesting Harry Potter Character Storylines (in my opinion)
Some of them might not be amongst my personal favorites but they do have complexity and I’d like to give them a shoutout.
Albus Dumbledore: Yes, this is Dumbledore salt. The man liked to act like a chess player and while he was actively trying to stop the bad side he actually didn’t mind sacrificing people (including himself and Harry) I personally think he was going for the glory (like Voldemort pretty much) but in a more grounded and mortal kind of way. His whole story is basically using people to achieve goals and while I don’t personally like him he makes one of the most interesting HP characters. A true slythendor if you ask me. Brave and bold enough to fight for the “right” side but cunning and ambitious enough to get something out of it. He’s a good guy with bad guy traits. So… shout-out.
Severus Snape: Let me make this clear, I DON’T LIKE SNAPE. At all, he’s one of the most overrated characters in my opinion but I do have to give him the “morally gray complex character” card, he’s a genuine bad person and I feel like guilt and regret over unintentionally killing a person he supposedly loved was his main motive to fight for the good side. I think he’s a complex character because he’s actively hurting people and yet he’s not really fighting on the bad side. It makes sense for him to be bitter and overall an asshole his whole life. Changing sides on a war doesn’t make you a good person. Was he brave?, yes. Was he the one bravest men Harry ever knew?… probably not. But the series was written by a bigot who romanticizes toxic and abusive behavior so.
Harry Potter: Harry IS complex. He’s the hero, we know this. But I feel like analyzing Harry is more difficult than that. He has a very tragic backstory. From being orphaned at a very young age and having to live in an abusive household for 10 years and 5 summers (I think there was 5) essentially without love to being manipulated to become a hero of the wizarding world at 17. Wow. He’s got this hero complex because he was told he was a hero at a very young age and he’s put under a lot of pressure his whole time at hogwarts. He lives trauma after trauma and he remains unaffected in the surface, we know this child is just used to losing things and that’s so sad. He still grows to be a very decent person for what’s worth and he’s a very good character, so…
Sirius Black: Sirius, my beloved. The only Gryffindor in the noble and most ancient house of Black. He was probably raised and taught to be prejudiced and hateful which to be completely honest.. he sorta was, just not towards the people his family wanted him to be. He’s the rebel child of the house of Black, probably lived in an abusive household without love and I’m sure being sorted into Gryffindor was a breaking point in his family dynamic, being surrounded by his roommates and friends he probably realized that he could find love outside family and tradition. His relationship with James was probably one of the most loyal friendships out there, kinda like Harry and Ron, but it ended up so badly because of the same thing I praise him about trust and loyalty to his friends. Poor Sirius was blamed for killing the people he cared the most about and sentenced, and even the. He managed to come back to Harry (and seek revenge and kill wormtail because I’m sure tration was the worst thing you could do in Sirius’ eyes) and help Harry and protect him just like he failed to do with James.
Remus Lupin: Remus, my beloved. He’s got one of the most tragic backstories in the series too. He was biten at the age of five and became a werewolf in a prejudiced cruel world who thought his kind were nothing but monsters. Sill after having no friends, he was accepted into Hogwarts and provided help for his condition where he managed to make friends and have more love and acceptance than he ever thought he’d ever have. And yet once he graduated he literally lost it all in a blink of an eye without even knowing. He was under the impression that he lost three of his best friends and the murderer was his other best friend. And he was left alone for twelve years having nothing, until finally he discovered the truth and fought with the order once more despite having lost everything the first time, because that’s just who he is… and yet he remains broken the whole time, pushing away people because he’s just lost too much already in the first war. He’s kind of an asshole for trying to leave a pregnant Tonks but that’s also who he is, he probably doesn’t like to have close relationships anymore because of the trauma of the first war and his werewolf self.
Lord Voldemort: Voldy is not really that complex tbh but the Gaunt storyline is really interesting nevertheless. His mother, oh so in love with this muggle boy dies because of her own mistakes. And he’s left, without being able to feel love (opposite to Harry, obviously) and a hatred for muggles thanks to his dad. What k find interesting about Tom is that he spent his youth PLANNING to become the most powerful dark wizard in silence. Pretending to be a good guy. A prefect, a very respectful and polite young man. That’s some good shit tbh.
Neville Longbottom: Neville doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. He’s a very brave man from the beginning, he’s had to go through life with the trauma of what happened to his parents… watching their suffering. And then he’s got to put up with Snape’s and the mean Slytherin’s bullshit in his Hogwarts years. To finally grow up to be the hero he’s supposed to be. He’s very overlooked because of his nervous sweet nature but Neville is fierce.
Dobby: If Dobby we’re a hogwarts student he’d be a Hufflepuff, no doubt. Hardworking, Brave and a very nice elf. He was a slave for most of his life, having to put up with basically torture by the Malfoy family. And yet he was always there for Harry no matter what out of gratitude and loyalty, but also because he thought that was the best for his kind. He’s got such a good heart, the winky storyline always gets me. Dobby was good despite being surrounded by the worst people, remained optimistic till his death and helped a lot, The golden trio wouldn’t have made it without him.
REGULUS BLACK: FORGOTTEN SLYTHERIN HERO. we don’t have much context about Regulus and we know he was raised in the same context as Sirius, but with the influences of the house of Slytherin where most blood purists were sorted (I don’t think that bs that ALL Slytherin’s are bad but let’s go with canon) si he became a Death Eater, an important one. But after discovering the Horcrux thing he unexpectedly and secretly turned against Voldemort. I suspect Regulus was never actually an evil person, I think he saw what Sirius had to go trough and was afraid to lose everything too. But we certainly don’t know anything about him except he was kind to Kreacher, he was the ‘good’ son and he died trying to defeat Lord Voldemort on his own… without telling a soul, without seeking glory for it. He died a forgotten and selfless hero.

Frev writing prompts, Part 5! Seriously, I have no idea how I keep coming up with these. 😅
36. The protagonist was born and raised by a troupe of traveling performers. For as long as they can remember, they have been traveling from place to place, never staying anywhere for a few days at most.
The protagonist’s father is the troupe’s flutist and singer while their mother is a puppeteer so the youth has always had a passion for the performing arts and dreams of traveling all over Europe with their big happy family.
Nicknamed “L’œillet rouge” (The Red Carnation) by the troupe as an homage to their father’s favorite flower, the protagonist enjoys playing the flute and singing with their father, as well as putting on puppet shows with their mother.
With a song in their heart, a smile on their face and their father’s precious flute in their hands, the protagonist travels all over the country with their family, entertaining the people of France but never settling down and they like it that way.
But one day, while the troupe is staying in Paris and putting on a rather satirical puppet show which mocks the current regime, the protagonist’s parents are suddenly arrested by the police. Apparently, the father is a dangerous rebel while the mother is guilty of having sheltered said rebel years ago.
The protagonist is convinced that there must be a mistake and decides to rescue their parents with the help of all the other troupe members, including the protagonist’s older maternal half-brother and their maternal grandparents, all of whom are eager to help.
The time is limited and the rescue will be far from easy, but the protagonist will be damned if they don’t at least try to succeed. So, with that in mind, the young flutist and their family start to concoct the rescue plan...
37. Rumors have it that people who have been murdered tend to become vengeful ghosts and haunt their killers to exact revenge.
This is certainly true for Robespierre and his supporters. Unable to find peace, their souls are brought back to the realm of the living, seeking revenge on the Thermidorians.
This particular circumstance is quite convenient for the protagonist, a spirit medium who summons these ghosts and intends to use them as tools in their plan to torment the Thermidorians and avenge their family that got massacred in Lyon, skillfully using the revolutionaries’ restlessness and anger to achieve their goal.
However, soon certain events make the protagonist question the morality of using these spirits. Perhaps the protagonist is no better than their enemies if they are not above manipulating others. Perhaps there’s another way… Nonsense! It’s not manipulation if the other people also want revenge and are dead anyway...right?
38. The heroine of the story, like many other girls of the noble class, grew up and got her education in a convent in her hometown of Caen, France.
As a result of this upbringing, the young woman is rather used to a sheltered life, her idealism is through the roof and she is rather nostalgic about her life in the convent and her friendship with another noble girl, Charlotte Corday, who is the heroine’s closest friend and confidant.
At first the noblewoman wants to stay out of the events of the revolution, dreaming of taking her vows as a nun and living a quiet life in the convent, but those plans are abruptly thwarted by Corday, whose influence slowly gets the naïve heroine deeper and deeper into the mess that is the French Revolution.
Being idealistic, easily trusting, quiet, pacifistic and devoutly Catholic, the heroine initially follows her best friend’s lead and trusts her judgement since Corday is the closest thing to a big sister that the young woman has.
However, when Corday tries to convince her to kill Jean-Paul Marat and end the revolution, the heroine starts having mixed feelings about her friend’s decisions, despite being angry with Marat for her own personal reasons. After all, her faith teaches to forgive, not to judge and take revenge, so now the heroine must make a choice.
Will she betray her best friend and ruin the plan or will she cast aside her morals to help Corday and, presumably, the rest of the country? Is Marat really the bloodthirsty monster that Corday says he is? Is there another way to deal with the situation at hand without any casualties? And what consequences will the main character face for the choice she makes?
39. The main character is an illegitimate son of a Russian noble and a serf (yes, serfs were still a thing in Russia) who got taken in by his father as a “ward” and sent to France to get a good education, as everything French was very fashionable in the Russian Empire at the time.
There, in Paris of 1789, the young man absorbs all the knowledge he can, learning languages, reading the prominent books written in the Enlightenment era and even befriends a man by the name of Maximilien de Robespierre, a lawyer from Arras and the representative of Artois.
Considering that Robespierre was almost born illegitimate, he is the first person in a long time who doesn’t judge the protagonist for the circumstances of his birth and accepts him for him. Excited to be accepted at long last, the young man begins to look up to Robespierre as a mentor and an older brother of sorts, quickly absorbing his ideas and supporting him.
So, naturally, when the revolution begins and the young man finds himself trapped in Paris, he joins the revolutionaries to fight alongside his mentor.
Thus begin his adventures.
40. The protagonist is a child of criminals forced to survive on the streets after losing their parents until they’re eventually taken in by a seemingly sympathetic Jacobin, given a new name, a home and a fresh start in life. The protagonist essentially becomes the revolutionary’s ward and their guardian even takes them to the Convention so the youth can observe the meetings.
All seems good for the protagonist...almost too good to be true. But eventually certain events force the protagonist to wonder if their new guardian truly cares about them.
Could it be that their Jacobin guardian has some sinister motives? And will the protagonist be able to move away from their “bad” heritage and live an honest life at last?
41. Barras is in love. Again.
Head over heels over a pretty servant he recently hired and she even seems to like her employer back. Even her suspiciously strong resemblance to a certain Jacobin who got executed in 1794 isn’t a dealbreaker for Barras and the smitten man writes said resemblance off as a coincidence.
The other Thermidorians, especially Fouché, are not that blind and they fear that a relative of that particular executed man is here to seek revenge. Fouché decides to investigate this seemingly ordinary and harmless young servant, suspecting that she has quite a few skeletons in her closet.
Are these suspicions going to be confirmed or is Fouché simply being paranoid?
42. Thermidor has just taken place. The Jacobins are imprisoned and it seems like the traitors are going to win. All hope is lost for the Jacobins and their enemies rejoice.
But little do the Thermidorians know that by betraying and imprisoning all the men who stand in their way, they have just acquired new enemies - women.
Revolutionary women.
Wives, daughters, sisters, nieces, goddaughters, lovers, wards, friends and sympathizers of the captured Jacobins who are not going to sit back and give up.
Seeing how bleak things are, these women, led by a mysterious woman who conceals her face behind a mask and calls herself “Citoyenne Liberté” (Citizen Liberty), decide to rescue their imprisoned loved ones from the clutches of the Thermidorians.
They’re running out of time, they’re outnumbered and not equipped with proper weapons, but that is hardly a problem they can’t solve and they’re willing to fight against the odds regardless of the obstacles.
After all, Heaven hath no fury like a woman scorned, which is what the Thermidorians are about to learn the hard way.
43. A singer and actress who used to perform in Venice flees to France after a scandal demolishes her reputation. Having only her voice and her acting to make ends meet, for a while she tries to find work in Paris but barely makes enough money for her and her son to survive.
Her only friend and confidant in this bleak situation is a future revolutionary who happens to admire the heroine’s singing and strongly believes that she deserves better. He even bonds with the actress’s toddler son and is willing to step up and become a proper father figure for the child.
Thanks to said revolutionary, the heroine’s life begins to change for the better and she decides to settle down in Paris. Even when she learns about the approaching revolution, she chooses to stay in the only place where she feels like she can belong.
What’s more, the actress finally finds her new purpose in life. She too can fight for the cause of her new partner and his friends, in her own way.
How is a woman whose main talents are acting and singing supposed to be able fight, you may ask? Why, by becoming a spy for the Jacobins and the singing voice of the revolution of course!
And she might just be able to prove that anyone can be a revolutionary and one doesn’t need to be a fighter nor an orator to help a noble cause.
44. A female servant working for Georges Danton has to practically flee the house of her employer after the latter crosses all the possible boundaries while drunk.
Fearing for her safety and profoundly traumatized by the event, the servant is found and taken in by a seemingly sympathetic man who sees Danton as a sworn enemy for his own reasons. Considering that both have a grudge against Danton and the man is a journalist, he and the servant team up to bring Danton down.
Will they succeed? Why does the journalist hate Danton? And is his desire to aid the heroine genuine?
45. Paris, France. The revolution is in full swing.
The Committee of Public Safety has to deal with multiple issues, the ongoing war is depleting France’s resources and the situation seems dire.
What’s more, a new newspaper, “La Voix de la Justice” (The Voice of Justice), began to circulate in the city. While this particular fact isn’t that surprising by itself, the thing that sets this newspaper apart from the rest is the fact that its author is anonymous.
Nobody knows who writes this newspaper but the articles are quite good and this mysterious person has already exposed several people who were using the Reign of Terror as an excuse for their atrocities.
Naturally, all these details catch the attention of Jean-Paul Marat and Camille Desmoulins, two of the most prominent journalists of that time. Intrigued by this new newspaper and its author, the two revolutionaries team up to track that person down, if only to find out who they are and thank them for helping their cause.
46. The protagonist grew up believing that Robespierre is single handedly responsible for the execution of their beloved aunt and uncle and, as a result, believes that the man deserved to be executed for that betrayal.
However, the protagonist is soon forced to question their judgment when their older cousin, Horace Desmoulins, reaches out to them in a letter, inviting them to Paris and claiming that he found evidence proving that in actuality Robespierre attempted to save Camille and Lucile Desmoulins, Horace’s parents.
Although the protagonist is skeptical at first, since Horace has always defended his godfather, they are still intrigued by their cousin’s invitation and leaves Guise to join Horace in his investigation.
Together, the two cousins are both determined to clear the names of Horace’s parents and figure out what role Robespierre actually played in the family tragedy.
47. The five protagonists are all members of a heavy metal band whose name and songs are an homage to the French Revolution.
Previously little more than a quintet of college misfits determined to rehabilitate this particular event and tell the real story through music, the band finally starts gaining popularity after a successful concert at a music festival in Marseille.
And then things take a turn for the unexpected when the band gets into an accident on their way home, only to wake up in Revolutionary France. Naturally, they now must survive and return home but this adventure might just become the inspiration they needed so much...
48. After the protagonist’s father leaves them and their blind mother behind to move to Paris, the protagonist is naturally upset. Year after year, they wait for their father to return but he never does.
In 1789, after losing their mother to an illness, the protagonist decides that enough is enough and travels to Paris to confront their father. To their disgust, they soon find out that their father is now remarried, with a new family and quite rich while the protagonist is basically a pauper. Moreover, the father seems to have joined the revolutionaries, which is something that the protagonist cannot approve of either.
Now the protagonist wants to make sure that their father faces the music for his betrayal so they contact a journalist who is about to expose said father in an article.
A story of one of his enemies leaving behind his first family will be a nice addition to the already existing accusations of corruption, but the protagonist and the journalist soon realize that they are not immune to the consequences of their actions either and this article might cause more damage than they think it will.
49. (A reimagining of Aladdin) After their flute is broken beyond repair, the protagonist goes to a pawn shop to find a replacement for their practice.
It is there that an old ivory flute catches their attention so the protagonist purchases it, has it professionally restored and decides to keep it, ignoring the warning of the shopkeeper that it’s cursed and the suspiciously low price.
The protagonist is a skeptic and never believed in magic, curses and other occult things.
That is until they play the flute for the first time and a man poofs into existence like a genie from a lamp. Introducing himself as Louis Antoine de Saint-Just, he informs the protagonist that he used to be the owner of the flute but is now trapped in it because of black magic.
Despite their skepticism, the protagonist cannot logically explain anything that’s going on but wants to help so they strike a deal with Saint-Just - he is going to help the protagonist win over their love interest in exchange for freedom.
As for how the spell is supposed to be broken, the protagonist is completely clueless but their mysterious neighbor with a knack for alchemy and the occult might be able to help…
50. Lyon, France.
The future Thermidorians mercilessly massacre innocent people and rule with an iron fist. Just today they massacred several prominent noble families of the city for defying them.
However, what the tyrants do not know is that they didn’t massacre everyone, for the daughters of the executed nobles are currently living at a convent to get education, as was common back then.
Upon receiving the tragic news and fearing that these young girls are going to end up on the death list, two nuns, the heroines of the story, come up with a plan to escort the girls out of the city and get them to a different location where they would be safe.
The plan is daring but the risk is too high to sit there and do nothing. Will the nuns be able to keep their students safe?

Confused, angry, annoyed murmurs filled the courtyard as people were ushered outside by the kingsguard. The summer sun had already risen and beat down unforgivingly on the crowd that began to form. An eerie feeling clung to the air – similar to the early morning sunrise when Sister Mary was beheaded. The people had not forgotten about the large army that gathered outside their castle gates this morning. They wondered in fear – had their king been overthrown? Or perhaps… the king was prepared to be a widow once more?
To their relief, King Steven stood at the platform. He was rather calm with his brows furrowed, lost in his thoughts. To their surprise, you weren’t dressed in the traditional execution black, nor were you cowering in the crowd in fear of your husband. Instead, their queen stood tall with her husband’s hand clasped in hers and a crown on her head, reminding them of who you were – reminding you of who you were: an angry queen seeking revenge.
The stoic expression on your face unsettled them. The last time you made a public appearance as queen was when you were struck by your husband. After then, the only time you had been relevant was when guards were storming the castle early in the morning in search of their runaway queen. Though they knew you were back and rested, they had expected your duties to be minimal – that you were to be hidden away, locked in the castle as a crowned prisoner.
They were wrong.
Behind you, stood your father, the invader from this morning. Though he did not seem to pose a threat to you or the king, his army was still sprawled out around the courtyard. Any attempt would be thwarted with ease with both Brooken and York standing together like this.
“Bring them forth,” Steven called out. The crescendo of the people’s chatter became louder and louder as the two criminals were finally revealed.
Brock Rumlow and Alexander Pierce trudged through the crowd, being led by guards. Shock was expressed on many noble’s faces. Confused muttering shook the crowd as they stared on at the two men who wore black.
“What is he doing?” “Has he finally lost his mind?” “That’s his cousin!” “That’s his father’s sister’s boy!” “Pierce has been an ally to the crown for decades!” “It’s the queen’s doing!” “She’s manipulating him.” “She’s made him a monster.” “No… He’s already been one for years.” “That’s his cousin, his father’s sister’s son!” “He wouldn’t dare.” “He’s a monster.”
The whispers didn’t stop. It felt as if the people were turning their back on Steven, losing hope, respect, and trust. He had yet to say a word that was heard by the crowd. Their mutterings became louder and louder, drowning him out, calling him a monster, saying he shouldn’t wear the crown. They called him mad and cruel, saying he lashed out – disguising his insanity and using treason as an excuse to blindly kill.
It wouldn’t stop. The vile accusations against him were deafening. You stared at the crowd, listening to every word spat out. It sounded like a long continuous scream.
The wails bringing you back to the violent sways of the boat. The nausea induced by the mercenary’s poor command of the boat. Seeing the man on top of Wanda. Hearing her screams of pain and pleads for help. The sticky blood on your hands as you stabbed him. You remembered the sharp shove he gave to your stomach – to your child. The ripping of your dress as he spat, “I should’ve raped you first” with his hands wrapped around your throat. The metallic taste of blood after Wanda slit the man’s throat open. You remembered her falling to the ground and the haunting lifeless look on her face. The terrible cramping pain in your stomach and the discomfort in your back. You remember the blood pooling underneath you as you lost your child.
Everything hitting you all at once. The anger. The hurt. The betrayal. The loss. It all spiraled together, morphing into one hideous feeling that you couldn’t describe. It bubbled in your throat, demanding to be let out.
“SILENCE!” You didn’t even recognize your own voice that bounced throughout the kingdom. It was so loud that you were sure your mother could’ve heard it in York. Maybe the true Mad King heard it from wherever he was.
The entire crowd fell into silence, surprised at your outburst. Steven looked over to you. His own frustration and anger melted into pure concern as he watched your shoulders rise and fall with every breath you took. He called your name but you didn’t hear it, basking in the silence as you wordlessly commanded the respect and attention of everyone in attendance.
Steven couldn’t help but smirk proudly at his queen as you stepped forward from your position, glaring at the crowd.
“You want to call your king a monster?” You asked them. “You have no idea what he has done to protect this kingdom… He has done nothing but protect each and every one of you. Whether the threat be my own father or foreign invaders,” you glared at the two bound men in black, “or lords who plot and conspire for his demise. He’s on the frontline of every battle when he could simply cower in the castle along with the rest of you. And you want to call him the monster?”
You gestured to the chained men. “Brock Rumlow and Alexander Pierce are the true monsters. They’re the shadows that lurk in the dark. Their the ghosts that haunt the castle. They prey on your fears, they isolate you, they manipulate you.”
You walked to the de-tongued Pierce, a shell of the noble he once was – thanks to your father. “Alexander Pierce brought King Steven two wives. Both from the same house. Both who have died. Everyone’s quick to tell the story that the king murdered his wives. They refused to give him an heir, so he ridded himself of their incompetency, right? I believed that story, too. But no one tells the truth of how Pierce deliberately chose wives of a house who swore allegiance to King Thanos.
“Brock Rumlow manipulated his way into my circle. He fed me lies of how Steven murdered his wives, confirmed untrue rumors – all to turn me against my own husband.” You looked over to Steven, who had a proud look on his face as he watched his wife take control of the situation. “I should’ve believed you, my love. For that, I am truly sorry.”
“These two men orchestrated to have me and my ladies murdered. They posted as people I could trust, promised me protection from a man they said was a threat. They arranged for my friends and I to be murdered on a boat. They hired a mercenary who rap – “you stopped yourself. The word had a foul taste that you could not stomach. “They hired a mercenary who murdered Lady Wanda Maximoff before my eyes. They’re responsible for the death of my child, the heir to Brooken.”
That fact alone stunned many. They were all quick to resent their queen because you had spent months childless… Little did they know they lost their heir they were so desperate to have.
“They’re monsters and if you cannot see that for yourselves, then you, too, will be on this platform next. Call me a killer. Call me ruthless. Call me the monster. I’ll accept it all. I’ve lost a friend and I’ve lost a child. And if their executions and your spiteful rumors are what I must pay for a moment of vengeance, then so be it.”
The crowd remained silent as they took in every word. They may never know what fact is and what is fiction, but everyone can agree that the hurt and the pain in your voice was completely genuine. No one could feign that type of grief.
Steven took a step forward, grabbing your hand and rubbing soothing circles onto the back of it. He brought it to his lips and pressed a kiss to your knuckles before turning towards the two men.
“We needn’t relive the torment you’ve brought upon my wife. You both are guilty of treason, and everyone knows it,” Steven told them, directly. “I, King Steven Rogers of Brooken, with the witnesses of my wife, Queen (Y/N) Rogers and King Anthony Stark of York, sentence you to death for your treason.”
Brock had called your name. He begged for his life. He begged for mercy. He stared into your eyes, pleading for a shred of empathy or compassion. He knew you had it in you – he saw it when you defended your friends fiercely, when you tried to stop your husband from executing the old crone. But he was met with angry, cold eyes as he heard his cousin call for his sword.
Pierce was the first to go. He was brought to the executioner’s block with no hassle – he did not fight. He knew when he had lost and he would lose with any dignity he had left. Steven’s blow was quick and neat. The head fell into the basket with a soft thud as the body was removed from the block.
Rumlow thrashed in the guards’ arms. He begged and he called for your name. He sputtered out apologizes for his crimes in hopes for any ounce of mercy that could be thrown his way.
“Stop.” You said before your husband could lift his sword. “Get him on his feet.”
“(Y/N).” Steven warned, but you repeated your order. The king sent you a weary look before gesturing for the guards to lift his cousin.
Steven watched as you marched over and gave Brock a kind smile. Relief flooded through Rumlow as you fixed the black collar of his shirt.
“You don’t deserve a fast death.” You told him. Though your voice was soft, it was heard throughout the eerily silent courtyard.
Before he could process your words, you gave a swift, deep cut to his throat with a dagger no one knew you were hiding. After the attempt on your life, you always ensured that you had some form of a weapon on your person.
He choked on his own blood as the crimson spurted out from the deep gash. You watched with little remorse as he fell to the ground, clawing at his neck. You didn’t shift your eyes away as you did when Sister Mary was beheaded. No. You wanted to see your enemies fall.
Once he laid lifeless on the platform, you turned and made your way off the platform and back into the castle.
»»————- ⚜ ————-««
Your farewells with your father were bittersweet and fast. You wished him safe travels as you gave him a sword – specially made for your little brother’s name day. You noticed the saddened look on your father’s face upon hearing Harvey’s name, but you decided not to press him about it.
You watched from the balcony as he and his army disappeared into the horizon. Your hands were still shaking – something you hadn’t thought would happen once you took Brock’s life. Though you have bathed – and re-bathed – immediately after the executions, your hands still felt sticky even if you only had a few splatters of blood on them.
You were too lost in your thoughts that you didn’t hear Steven slowly walk over to your position. You jumped when his arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you into him as he pressed a kiss onto the crown of your head. “Are you alright?” He asked you. He noticed how you were still trembling.
“I killed him.” You said. “I looked him in his eyes and took his life.”
“If you weren’t shaking, I would ask myself if I had married a coldblooded killer.” He joked lightly, but you scoffed at him. He kissed your temple. “But I know you are not a murderer.”
“As I know you are not a monster.” You whispered. “I couldn’t stand there and listen to them whispering anymore,” you shook your head. “I do apologize for thinking such things.”
“You had reason to believe it. I do not blame you.”
“You should be angry.”
“I am not.” Steven assured. “I love you.”
“As I love you.” You responded, leaning into him. “Is it over? Is this unrest finally over?”
“It never is.” Steven sighed. “But now, everyone knows… They can’t turn us against each other. We stand together. King and Queen. We are a force to be reckoned with. We are taking strides to a brighter Brooken. Together.”
You smiled at the thought. You basked in Steven’s arms. The security the bring. The feeling of home.
You turned to face him and pulled him down for a kiss. Sweet and passionate. Lips melting together as if they had always belonged there. You pushed Steven backwards towards the room. He broke the kiss as he watched you close the balcony doors. You smiled at him before you cupped his jaw with your hands to reconnect the kiss.
You kept pushing and pushing until the back of Steven’s knees hit the back of the bed. He pulled away from you, combing the loose strands away from your face before placing a chaste kiss to your lips. “We needn’t do this if you aren’t ready.” He told you. He was afraid that his desire for you would overwhelm you. Though some time had passed since the incident, he did not want to make you feel pressured in any way.
You shook your head. You tried to bring his lips back to yours, but he thwarted your attempt. “Steven…” You whined.
He chuckled, cupping your face with his large hands. “You needn’t give me an heir… Not yet. Not if you’re not ready.”
“Steven…” you frowned. “I want this. I want you.”
He shook his head. “We don’t need an heir… Not yet. I am happy with just you.”
You groaned at him. “If we have a child this night or the next, it makes little difference to me. I’m not trying to have an heir. I want to make love to you because I love you.”
He smiled. That warm smile that sent butterflies to your stomach. He kissed your lips once. Twice. And a third kiss one from an eager husband ready to make love to his wife.
»»————- ⚜ ————-««
Six Months Later…
You let out an erotic moan, one that quite possibly awoke the entire castle. Not that you nor your husband minded as your hips rutted against his as you both came down from your highs. Exhausted, you slumped down to his chest and allowed his arms to wrap around you. He pressed a kiss to your glistening forehead as you both tried to catch your breaths.
“I love you.” You whispered.
“I love you, too.”
Three sharp knocks were stamped into the wood of your bedchamber’s doors. You and Steven frowned at one another. It was late at night, who could it be?
You quickly got off your husband and wrapped yourself in a robe as he did the same. He walked over to the door to find Lord Barnes, who was supposed to be vacationing in his chateau with his new wife, Lady Natasha. “What’s wrong, James?” Steven asked the obviously exhausted lord.
“Your majesties…” He said, winded. “There’s an emergency. Please. Come to the throne room now.” Steven asked for privacy so that you both may properly dress.
Your bare feet padded against the tiles as you hurried walked hand in hand with Steven. “What’s happened?” You asked Lord Barnes as he rounded the corner towards the throne room. When he didn’t answer, you asked again. He pushed the doors open and you gasped. “Mother?”
“Oh, my sweet child,” your mother sighed out in relief. She held baby Morgan in her hands, the infant had grown in your time away. You rushed to her side and gave her a hug, cooing at your baby sister who babbled happily as she recognized your voice.
“What’s the meaning of this?” Your husband asked.
“Always great to see you, Steve.” Your mother smiled.
“Pepper,” he greeted, giving her a kiss on the cheek. “As much as I find your company a delight, it’s in the middle of the night… It’s winter. Travel is rather troublesome in the north, even for a three-day journey.”
“Where’s father?” You asked. “And Harvey?”
Your mother sighed sadly. Your face dropping. You looked to Natasha who stood with her husband and the guards you recognized belonged to your father’s kingsguard. “What’s happened?” You asked.
“York’s been invaded by Thanos.”

I Can’t Eat Love pt 34
Here it is, the final part from Lenora’s perspective. I am officially planning four side parts, each from a different perspective. These will give insight into the past, and a glimpse of what happens after the story. So they’ll be very important to wrapping things up.
I really want to thank everyone who has been following this with me. I really really love writing this story, these characters, and honestly i didn’t want to end it. But this was always the story i wanted to tell. I’m so happy i had the chance to tell it.
Thank you for reading
Master post linked here.
Enjoy!
______________________________
“Will that be all your Majesty?”
A servant bowed before the King of Reterand, his face solemn and respectful. The King, sitting in his chair by the fireplace, glanced around the empty, well lit room before gesturing for the servant to leave.
“I do not wish to be disturbed.” At his cold tone the servant flinched, before backing quickly out of the room.
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
Click.
The door closed behind him, and the King was alone. He stared into the fire, his hands clenched on the armrests of his chair.
“Why couldn’t she just die?” He muttered, his face bitter. “Everything would have been settled if she were gone. I’ll have to figure out something new…”
His voice trailed off as he blinked, a strange blue smoke was coming out of the fire, surrounding him. His eyes widened with shock and he opened his mouth to call out, but before any sound escaped he slumped into his chair, unconscious.
Watching through the peepholes in the secret passageway, I grinned at the sight.
______________________________
It took around ten minutes for the king to fully wake up. In that time the room had greatly changed. The lamps had dimmed, the majority of light in the space coming from the weakened fire behind the King’s chair. A table was set before him, and across from him was an equally luxurious chair, in which I sat.
His gaze focused on me, and his face turned pale with fear. He opened his mouth once more to call out for help.
Thud.
A knife thrown from my hand passed right by his face, embedding itself into the wooden mantel of the fireplace behind him. A short distance over and it would have landed in his eye instead.
“My apologies, Your Majesty. I’m a nervous person, my hand tends to slip when I think loud noises will happen.”
I watched him with satisfaction as he understood the meaning of my words:
Call out if you want to die.
“You’re crazy.” He whispered, his eyes locked onto the throwing knife in my hand.
“Really? How strange.” I smiled gently “I’m not the one seeking my own destruction. But there doesn’t have to be any unpleasantness, Your Majesty. I’m only here to talk.”
“Talk?” He snorted. “You broke into the palace and drugged your king to have a talk? You bit…”
Thud.    Drip. Drip. Drip.
The sound of the blood running down his cheek and dripping onto the floor broke the only silence of the room. The King’s eyes held equal parts pain and terror as his hand slowly rose up to his face, and he turned to look at the bloody knife embedded in the mantel next to the first.
“Again, I have to apologize.” I held up a third knife, “I’m a very nervous person. It’s hard for me to hear such unpleasantness.”
“…” He grabbed a handkerchief and pressed it to the bleeding wound, studying me for a long moment.
“What do you want?”
I smiled at the sound of fear in his voice. “One simple question:” I leaned forward, staring into his eyes. “Why?”
The silence stretched on between us.
Why? Why had he schemed to bring me under his control? Why had he planned to hurt me, to kill me? Why had he hurt the ones I loved?
“I never wanted your throne.” My voice was quiet. “I never wanted the kingdom, to take your place. I sought only to leave you, your son and your kingdom behind.”
So why?
The king looked up at the ceiling and softly began to laugh.
“Don’t pretend to be innocent! You think I’m blind? A fool?” His laughter ended, his expression solemn. “The power shifted in this kingdom, how could I not be aware? The people all know, as do the other nobles. If you want wealth, then go to the Duchy of Armeny. If you seek knowledge, then the schools within their borders contain them. If you are poor and suffering, then the Duchy will take you in.”
He shook his head. “They all know, they all speak of it. How Lenora of Armeny loves the people. How she cares for them, works for them tirelessly. So different from the crown, from the other nobles. They view you as their leader. Did you really think I wouldn’t see what you were doing?”
“I never wanted power.”
“Liar.” He laughed again. “Maybe I would have believed it, thought you really cared for others, if you weren’t her daughter.” His voice expressed disgust at the word. “The woman who clung to me, clung to my throne. She never forgave me for casting her aside, marrying someone else.”
He’s talking about Seline. The woman I had once called mother. My smiled widened at his increasingly frantic tone.
“I thought giving you the engagement would satisfy her need for revenge. At least her daughter would be queen! But then… I saw your eyes at Ronan’s birthday party. And I realized… She didn’t want her daughter to simply succeed my position, she had brought her up to destroy me.”
I thought of the moment our eyes met in the ballroom that day, the coldness I had found there.
“You thought I was that woman’s pawn?”
“Of course! She had raised you to hate me, to destroy me! She was obsessed with me and I betrayed her! And you were her revenge!” His voice was slowly raising in volume. I held up my knife, warning him, and he quieted his tone, although he remained belligerent. “I knew I had to either bind you to the crown or destroy you.”
This was how he viewed me? His fear, his paranoia, his determination to defeat me, all stemmed from this? I couldn’t help it, I began to chuckle.
“Wha…” He stared at me in shock as the chuckle grew into a laugh, continuing until tears were rolling from my eyes.
“Fool.” A single word, but he flinched at it.
“You made the same mistake that everyone around that woman does. You thought that because you betrayed her, she would be obsessed with you? Want revenge?” I shook my head. “Seline has only ever cared about one person, and one person only: herself.”
She hated the king who betrayed her, but never sought his attention once she turned her back. She had tried to push me to be Queen, but not for revenge. She had only wanted the benefits for herself.
“She is a very simple person. She wants to be rich, she wants to be pampered, she wants to be happy.” I listed these off while counting on my fingers. “When you left her she hated you, yes… but she immediately sought out the next available rich and powerful young man to marry, thinking he would dote on her. And when that didn’t work out…”
I thought of the bitter woman I had grown up around, who hated my father for not adoring her after being forced into marriage with her. Who after realizing that having a child that would be Queen didn’t give her the attention and pampering she felt she deserved immediately abandoned us both in search of a new lover. She had never looked back, except to protect her image.
“Do you really think I was working with her?” I leaned forward, and the King flinched. “I was the one who destroyed her.”
I had quietly released the truth about her among the merchants and nobility. The truth of her actions and despicable nature was slowly spreading, with no indication of their source.  The king must have heard of them, but hadn’t realized that the person he had considered her pawn had turned against the woman who gave birth to her.
“No, that’s not true. You are her revenge…”  He started to mutter but I interrupted him, my bright smile causing him to shudder.
“She’s already abandoned you long ago.”
“…” He stared at me in silent shock.
“You have been wrong about so many things, Your Majesty. Wrong about Seline. Wrong about me and my motives. But most of all, your biggest mistake was this:” I twirled the throwing knife in my hand. “You thought that the reason I didn’t fight back was because I couldn’t… because I was scared.”
“You…”
A pile of documents landed on the table where I threw them, the sound silencing the King’s retort.
“The only reason I haven’t moved was because you were never worth being my opponent in the first place.”
I had ignored his attempts to force me to marry. I had turned a blind eye to his schemes to take my life. But now…
He had touched my people.
I thought of Hallers, still recovering from his injuries at the Queen’s private suite. Of  Rig and Nate, whose safety in Tilendria was still unknown.
I pointed at the stack.
“What is that?” His voice betrayed his confusion and fear.
“I’m not a ruler like you, Your Majesty. I’m not a warrior, a spy or a revolutionary.” I grinned, “I’m a businesswoman.”
He looked at the papers once more.
“And I’m here to do business.”
Slowly, a shaking hand reached out towards the stack of papers, turning them and reading them one by one. The rest of the color completely drained from his face, until he looked like someone half-dead.
“An accurate representation of my wealth. You must have been surprised when I recently revealed myself as the owner of Prosperity, right?” I watched his face, and the look in his eyes made me feel happy. “You have probably been scrambling, realizing that your enemy was stronger than you thought. But you were still wrong.”
He flinched at the last word.
“I’m much more powerful than even that.” I pointed at the papers, and he continued to read. “Not only do I control Prosperity, but I’ve slowly been investing in different businesses within Reterland over the past five years. There’s very few places that are not connected to me financially, one way or the other.”
“…” He flipped to the last page, shaking his head as if to deny the information before him.
“What do you think would happen if I pulled out all of my money from Reterland?”
At those words the King’s head snapped up, his eyes wide. “You wouldn’t! You could lose everything!”
“Lose everything?” The thought made me laugh. “No. I would only lose a lot of money. Most of it, in fact.” I leaned back in my chair, my eyes on his. “But I would have my life. My loved ones. I can start over and build everything again.”
I had already done it once. For them? I would do it over again a thousand times.
“But Reterland’s economy? It would be crippled. It would never recover.”
“Why…?”
“But that is only the beginning.”
Another stack of papers landed. This time he viewed them with clear terror.
“Go ahead. Read it You not looking at it won’t change anything. I’ll simply tell you the contents.” The turning blade in my hand reflected the firelight around the room, he stared at the sight, seemingly dazzled. “It’s every dirty secret within the nobility. Everything they’ve strived to keep hidden, all written neatly upon every page. Every noble.” I smiled sadly. “Even my father.”
I had initially excluded him from Rig’s investigations, but now his secrets were on the second page.
“Even you.”
The King’s secrets were on the first.
He picked up the top page, his hands shaking as he read it slowly.
“So many dirty secrets, evil deeds done in the shadows. Hiring corrupt men to infiltrate the Duchy, weaken it from within? Spreading rumors and lies? Drugging a daughter of the nobility to attach her to your son? How hideous.”
Of course there were many, many more on that page. The Duchy of Armeny wasn’t the only power he had sought to cripple.
“The people of this nation are so important. How will they react when so many of the nobility are revealed to be corrupt? How much faith will they have in them? In you?”
“…” He couldn’t reply, he just stared at the page in front of him. I needed to push harder.
“The nobility isn’t the only part of this kingdom I’ve been watching.”
A third and final stack. This time he picked it up immediately, before dropping it again as if it were burning his hand. It may have felt like that to him.
“Exact locations and numbers of your troops, your weapons… everything.”
“This is a declaration of war.” He mumbled, not looking away from the paper in front of him. “Tilendria…”
“Could destroy you in an instant.”  I tapped a finger on the paper, catching his attention once more. “With a crippled economy, disgraced leadership and exact knowledge of the enemy’s military? I could place a five year old at the head of an army and he could take you down.”
The King’s lips drew back in a snarl at my words, even as he seemed to be desperately searching for a way to deny them. I stood up, vaulting over the table, arriving at the King’s side in an instant. He shrunk back in his chair but was unable to avoid the blade at his throat, or block the whisper in his ears.
“If none of that matters to you then consider this: How did I get here without raising a single alarm?”
His eyes were wide with fear as he stared up at me.
“How many of your people are already mine for me to walk calmly in and drug your fire?”
I had actually arrived through the secret passages but there was no need to tell him that. I reached out and took the wine glass from his table with my free hand, tipping it back and drinking from it. All the while the point of my dagger dug into the monarch’s throat. “How easy would it be to poison your wine? Your fire? A needle in your bed?” I laughed coldly, setting the empty glass down.
“Do you believe me now when I say that I never wanted your throne?”
The King’s gaze was steady on me as he gave the slightest nod of his head, wary of the knife in my hand. He was convinced. How could he not be?
If I had wanted the throne, I could have taken it any time I wanted.
“You were never my opponent.” I stepped away, still holding the knife, walking towards the door. “A scared old man who desperately clung to his throne, chasing shadows… when you were never prepared to sacrifice what you needed to in order to win against me.”
He was different then me. He saw everyone around him as threats or tools, moving according to his whim. He was willing to sacrifice everyone else to protect everything he had….
While I was willing to sacrifice everything I had to protect everyone else.
“What do you want?” The same question as earlier, but this time it carried the sound of defeat.
I smiled. “I want you to do nothing.”
“…” His face was incredulous, it made me laugh.
“Rule your kingdom, for as long as that lasts. Do not look at me. Do not turn towards those under my protection. If you touch a single hair on their heads…”
I paused, trying to compose the expression on my face. I couldn’t completely succeed, however, by the look of terror in his eyes.
“I will destroy everything.”
My final threat. I meant every word. A moment of hesitation, any crack in the confidence I displayed, could spell the difference between victory and continued danger for them
The King weakly nodded, looking much smaller than he had before. “I will do as you say.”
“Good.”
THUD
The third dagger flew into the fireplace, splitting open a small bag of powder, which combined with the fire, letting out blue smoke once more.
“Remember this promise.”
The King’s eyes remained on me even as he started to sway, the effect of the drug taking hold.
“Oh, and one more thing:” I turned away “I’m taking your wife with me.”
The King slipped into unconsciousness under my gold gaze.

I arrived back at the Duchy to pick everyone up.
“Is it over?” Henry greeted me with a smile.
I nodded. “it’s over.”
“Are you leaving? For good?” He looked sad. Reaching out and hugging him, I nodded quietly.
“I’ll miss you.” He reached over and picked something up, tucking it behind my ear. A flower. Of course. I left it in place, smiling back.
“Well, you better come and visit then. And of course I’ll always be willing to help out with the duchy.”
“Nate still owes me some plants, so I’ll take you up on that.” We hugged again, and I blinked back tears.
“See you soon.”

As we packed up and prepared to leave, I heard someone call out my name quietly. Pausing as I was about to enter the carriage, I looked over to see the pale face of my father as he stood in the doorway, watching me.
“Your daughter is in prison. For trying to kill me.” My words were short, cold. He shuddered and stepped back.
“Lenora... I’m...” His voice faded, unable to say the last word.
He wasn’t sorry. He was so focused on the future he had lost that he had never once thought of making a new one with me.
“The paperwork for you to hand over the Duchy to Henry completely has been prepared. Sign it before tomorrow.” It was a threat. I knew his secrets. He may not care about himself, but for the woman he still loved...
“I’ll sign it.” He had no hesitation. It had been a long time since my father had cared about the Duchy at all. “Are you leaving already?”
I smiled. “I have to go home.”
Where Nate was. Where my family was. It was time to go home.
I left him behind, never looking back.
______________________________
“Why are you so nervous?” Queen Amerande smiled at me as she held my hand in the carriage.  I clutched at the reassuring warmth, feeling sick to my stomach as I thought of what waited for me ahead. I would rather confront the king a hundred more times than face what was before me now.
“They said he was injured.” I whispered, staring down at my lap, trying to take slow deep breathes.
“Yes, but he and Rig both made it back alive.” She patted my head. “Isn’t that a reason to be relieved?”
They were alive. I couldn’t help but smile, despite my nervousness. We had received a letter while we traveled. Rig had arrived in time to warn Nate of the bandit’s true nature. Nate had already gathered a strong force, and with knowledge of where their reinforcements were coming from, had managed to cut the secret army in half, defeating them soundly. They were recovering now in a small border town of Tilendria, where our carriage was heading right now.
“He’s waiting for you.” Was all that Rig’s note had said to tell me.
I frowned. “I don’t know if I can do this.”
Hallers, Lia and the Queen all stared at me kindly, none of them needing to ask what I was worried about.
It was one thing to recognize my feelings. It was another to face them openly. To trust him with my heart.
I was terrified.
I felt a warm hand on my head. Hallers, still bandaged in multiple places, smiled at me. “You have us behind you, Miss. Live freely. Don’t be afraid.”
We won’t let you fall alone.
The words unsaid brought tears to my eyes. I nodded, feeling stronger as the carriage slowly came to a stop.
“There’s two men waiting on the road ahead.” The driver called out. I felt my heart beat faster as I looked out through the window. Rig remained on a horse, looking tired, but happy. And there, standing on the road, waiting was Prince Nathaniel of Tilendria.
The man I loved.
The man who loved me.
I stepped out of the carriage, walking towards him.
______________________________
“Love is useless.” The words escaped through chapped, broken lips. I was curled up in a ball in an alley. Pain. Hunger. Exhaustion. I could feel death’s presence hanging over me, and I was tired of fighting it.
I had loved my mother, but she had only loved herself.
I had loved my father, but he never even looked once in my direction.
I had loved Edith, and she had betrayed me, taking my engagement with a smile.
I had loved Ronan, but he had never wanted to even know my name.
I had loved Queen Amerande… but she had forgotten about me.
Love was a useless thing. A weakness. If there was any life after death, I would never love again. I would find wealth. I would find power. I would eat until I was full every day.
But I would never ever love again.
I closed my eyes for the last time.
______________________________
I kept my eyes wide open as I looked at the man I loved. His left arm was bandaged heavily, he had large bruise on one cheek, but he was smiling. The warm, loving smile that I knew so well.
“Lenora.”
I sighed at the sound of my name. I kept walking. The fear, the hesitation were still present but smaller than the force within me driving me forward. Arriving in front of him, we both stood there for a few moments, staring at each other.
“This is for you.” His hand reached out, and in it was an envelope, so similar to the others he had given me over the years.
How many times had he supported me?
I had lost count.
At my expression he laughed, a pleasant, lighthearted sound. “I promise this is the last one.”
I took it, the paper smooth against my fingertips, shaking with the trembling of my hand. The last one. Because after this, he would have nothing left to give me. A smile crossed my face as I slowly opened the paper, reading the words written inside.
“This may seem sudden. I know that you don’t believe that love is a good thing. Especially after that idio… after everything you’ve been through, I understand if you’re not ready to trust me. But I had to tell you what I hope for. What my dream is.”
The paper in my hand drifted slowly to the ground. It settled there, halfway between us. Nate frowned at the sight, anxiety creeping into his gaze as he looked up at me.
I smiled at him. “I love you.”
“…” He seemed frozen. I waited for a few moments, wondering if I needed to say something else, but then his entire face turned red and he crouched down on the ground covering his head.
“So unfair!” He muttered. “I wasn’t expecting it.”
I laughed. “You weren’t expecting me to tell you ‘I love you’ after you proposed?” I looked back down at the paper, the words facing upwards towards me. Clearly written on there was a simple request, but one that changed everything.
Please marry me. Spend forever by my side.
I wanted all of that and more.
Finally he stood up, and although his face was still red, Nate’s gaze was clear as he took a deep breath and spoke once more.
“I love you too. Will you marry me?”
Love is useless.
I left those words behind me. I reached out and touched his face, and then stepped closer.
“Yes.”
My lips touched his for only a short moment, but we each sighed with relief at the contact. I parted only the smallest distance from him. We were both smiling.
“We have a lot to talk about.”
He would know my past. Everything. It would be easier to say this time around. I looked behind me, smiling gratefully at the Queen and Hallers, who both had exited the carriage and were cheering loudly. Rig grinned as he got off of his horse and patted Nate on the back.
“Congrats, both of you.” Rig and I looked at each other, and I knew what he was excited to get a new member of the family.
“I’ll write to Erica and Marile.” Lia had stepped out as well. “We’ll hear the screams from here.”
“I’ll tell them in person when we arrive home. After that, we’ll never hear the end of it.” I pretended to complain, but knew that they would both be happy for me. They were part of it too after all. Our family.
“Good.” Nate reached out and took my hand. “Let’s go home.”
Home.
Nate and I walked hand in hand towards the carriage, ready to head back to the capital. As we walked I couldn’t help but think of everything that had led up to this. My former life. The struggles I had gone through. The hatred, the bitterness, the vengeance I had been caught up in without even knowing why.
I still didn’t know why I had been given a second chance at life.
But now, as I stood with the family that cared for me, the one that I had protected, I couldn’t help but look forward to the future.
One I would create with those I loved

Hyperslut Runeterra AU
There is extreme content below. You have been warned.
Demacia: Level of perversion plays into caste system where the more perverted you are, the more common your nobility. Of course, that doesn't mean that the female nobles are above perversion; they are simply more discreet about it. Definitely not at the level Ionia is in general however. It's more of an open secret however, so while there is some public outrage, it's mostly just for show and to appease the higher ups in society despite the fact that they are right amongst the "commoners" doing it.
Sona: Willing slave. Give her somebody strong who looks they can be dominant with her, and she will walk right up to them, put their hands on her body for them, and mouth the words "own me". Often forms a telepathic link with them using magic and a self-tattooed slave mark with their symbol in the middle. Willing to try most every fetish under the sun and loves being humiliated without end, especially sexually. As a result, in the lowest possible class, but tolerated in high society because of her musical skill (and her willingness to fuck partygoers like a common busty whore).
"Only you can hear me, Master. What debauchery shall we experience today~?"
Lux: Uses light magic to hide the fact that she's nude and doing lewd shit almost constantly. Massive exhibitionist despite (or is it "because"?) the shame she knows it would bring to her family were she would ever be to discovered. Her brother would be discharged from the army and her family would be cast into the lowest of society in Demacia. That thought gets her off harder than anything else.
Vayne: Hardcore night hunter that still wants to avenge her parents, but she has an extreme monster and peril fetish. If she doesn't succeed in killing the monster, she almost always ends up getting raped. Often has to rely on somebody from Demacia noticing her absence and coming to rescue her which can take a lot of time, especially if she's dragged out to a monster's rape cave or a bandit camp. Generally discrete, but doesn't really give a fuck about her perversions being known.
Quinn:
Shyvana: Result of her mother playing whore to a dragon. Her dragon instincts constantly war with her human urges, bringing her no end of frustration as her two natures fight, even as human lust mixes with dragon lust and sends her into "heat" often. A size queen due to her body's needs, she goes after big dicked humans when human (such as J4 and Garen) and occasionally heading down to the royal stables to "tend" to both her lusts and the horses alongside the royal stable maides, and bending over for dragons to play as a distraction (sometimes as a human, sometimes as a dragon) during a hunt, the kill of which leaves her immensely satisfied for a good while (aka a week in this au). Her dragon pride makes it so that when she's descended as a dragon, she can only be sexually satisfied by dragons.
Morgana: A magic wielding warrior from another world. Like her sister, Kayle, she was summoned to Runeterra, but was summoned in Noxus, to fight against their main enemy, Demacia. She fell in love with the wild and debauched lifestyle that she had dedicated herself to fighting for back in her homeworld. Wildly indulging in sex and perversion with abandon, she is trying to return back to her homeworld to bring it the lifestyle that she feels has vindicated her entire struggle. Indulging in every fetish at least once from both sides of the equation, Morgana is loving being a hyperslut and the men and women of Runeterra love her. The only fetish she has yet to indulge in, and is interested in, however remains locked to her: incest.
"Ever raw an angel before~? No? Would you like to~?"
Kayle: A sword and magic wielding warrior from another world. Like her sister, Morgana, she was summoned to Runeterra, but was summoned in Demacia, to fight against their rival city, Noxus. A defender of the world she lived in prior, she was extremely unprepared for the culture she arrived in the comparatively perverted Demacia. However, that does not prevent her from indulging in her curiosity, if hesitantly, experimenting and exposing herself to the various methods of mating the people of Runeterra have discovered. Normally reserved, once she cums, she embraces her true inner slut and will not settle down until she has sated herself completely, rivaling even some of the more legendary sluts across the land. However, none of this prevents her from trying to return home, feeling vindicated at the similar level of debauchery her sister would inflict upon her people, all while occasionally rebuffing her lecherous sister's extremely inappropriate advances.
Fiora: A duelist in bed and on the field. Doesn't sleep with just anybody. Has some exceptional standards. Prides herself on being the best (has pitted her against some serious foes as a result much to her enjoyment). Generally only sleeps with one person at a time and duels usually involve her fucking the other person until they pass out or are completely unable to stay erect anymore. Does so to redeem the shame that her father brought upon the family due to using performance drugs in the dueling circuit. Seeks to "restore" the honor of her family by proving her superiority. Social air in Demacia means that her sexual duels are instead referred to with many double entendres and innuendos when in the presence of somebody she's not familiar with or more than one person. As a result, loves sex jokes and getting raunchy. Finds friendship in Kayle and a good training dummy for her dominant roles in Sona.
Noxus: Debauchery is celebrated openly. Instead of a gladiator pit, it's an orgy pit with the occasional fight. Whoever does the best often gets sold to the highest bidder from the crowd. A few cults, like Leblanc's Cult of the Black Rose, all vie for power behind the scenes, many using tantric rituals. Sex slaves and hired workers are just as great gifts to politicians as gold, jewelry, and fine goods/services. Occasionally raids Ionian lands for slaves (human and Vastayan alike (bull/cow vastayans go for a lot) and sometimes wars with Demacia because of how they are pretty much the opposite of their philosophy and can't let it stand.
Katarina: Well-known assassin from Noxus. Occasionally kills, but also very famous for bringing back filled condoms as trophies. Deals very heavily in social assassination. Makes runs through the streets to test her stealth skills, and if anybody catches sight of her and calls out to her while she's in earshot and able to hear them, she fucks them then and there as a self-inflicted punishment. Regular outfit often has filled condoms filled and tied off and hanging from her. Failing a mission or disobeying a superior commander's order results in her being bound, humiliated, and offered up as a free use cumdump in the main street of Noxus. She fails a lot of main mission objectives and is a generally pretty rude and disobedient towards superiors.
Riven: Wanders in search of "strength", an exile from Noxus. When meets somebody strong, either combats them with her sword or with her pussy in a competition of some sort. Will shamelessly and enthusiastically fuck anybody that offers her food or shelter, though she's above begging. Very much not above whoring herself out though. After all, when in the war, served as her squad's cum slut with enthusiasm. Was a slave in the pits of Noxus before freed by Draven when he recognized her strength both as a slut and a warrior while fuck-fighting her. During her time in the army, often wandered around Noxus to enjoy the various food delicacies and offered herself as a free use slut for restaurants to pay off her tabs. Loves fine/good-tasting food and continues this practice all throughout her travels around Runeterra, especially since starves a lot. As a result, whores herself out at camp sites a lot (though she enjoys the act a great deal herself).
Leblanc: Clone is very submissive and just as durable as she is due to her repressed tendencies as a result of both living in Noxus high society and being leader of a cult. Deals in a ton of freaky shit due to latter. If in healthy environment, a switch between top and bottom. Has slaves of all races in basement and in base of cult to use as in her pleasure. Loves using them as live dildos; when feels like being sub, creates clone and uses ritual to share clone's senses in safety of her quarters while it gets ravaged senseless out of revenge.
Cassiopeia: Woman with snaky attributes (cursed with Shurima curse) and sciency type who studied in Piltover/Zaun thanks to father's influence before he vanished who deals with all sorts of poisons. Can synthesize poisons into her body to do all sorts of stuff (and their antitoxins). Likes to occasionally roam around on the streets and abduct both cute girls, strapping lads, and handsome men with venomous/narcotic bites. Major domme who uses them for both experiments with concoctions and for pleasure. Poisons do various effects that do great things for sex and sell for a lot on the Noxus streets, legal and not. Keeps the Du Couteau house financial secure alongside Katarina's "wetwork".
Piltover: The city of progress. Most of all the cutting edge technology goes into producing elegant and interesting sex toys of some kind (and the occasional boost to normal daily life.) The academy that makes the city particularly famous is a den of debauchery behind closed doors despite the relatively posh and proper lifestyle the city presents, all while they look down on the people of Zaun for their destructive debauchery and interesting experiments. Experimentation of different kinds happens there. Entrance to the academy is granted by presenting something new that could have an impact on "gratification" or by convincing the council that determines who enters or not that they deserve to enter (a lot of rich families get in that way).
Caitlyn: In a relationship with Vi as the dominant. Grew up in Piltover as part of nice family. Quickly established herself as an amazing police officer and sniper with her custom made rifle. Went through several male and female partners because of her being super kinky and dominant until she met Vi in the PD and was assigned as her partner. One mission went awry trying to catch Jinx ended up with them trapped underground until rescued. Both found naked and fucking like crazy with Cait on top. Loves putting Vi through all sorts of plays to test both their limits, but often indulges in her partner's exhib fetish using the scope of her rifle and special sleep darts to keep her safe from unsavory predators. Sometimes lets Vi get the better of her and flip roles, discovering that she sometimes likes being shown off and even used by strangers herself. Not nearly as often as Vi or certain other champions, but sometimes. Has a history with N who she sexually battles on occasion with her loss every time, her bound up and dripping cum from all her holes and still no clue to his identity.
Vi: In a relationship with Caitlyn as the submissive. Grew up in Zaun a slum kid. Ends up handcuffed and wandering around Piltover and Zaun while stuffed with sex toys as a lot. Massive exhibitionist (as is Cait to a lesser extent), and often ends up getting fucked silly by a random stranger in either city in some dirty back alley. Was originally part of a gang as both their cum dump and their moral compass, but left when they crossed the line and almost got people killed, backstory canon with main AU. Loves getting shoved into the elevator between cities naked, handcuffed, and blindfolded by Caitlyn with the expectation of her getting fucked the entire way. Has a great time sometimes flipping roles, the best being when she shoved Caitlyn in the elevator for time duration of lunch rush to evening rush hour.
Orianna:
Camille:
Zaun:
Jinx: Archenemy of Vi and Caitlyn. If she wins, she uses them as sexual playthings to satisfy her lust. Usually pretty rough to Vi's secret pleasure. If she loses, she gets the favor returned before being hauled back to the Piltover precinct to be the PD's cumdump (though she somehow always manages to escape).
Janna: Goddess who gets caught up in Zaunite fashion. Is happily a lingerie model (loves flaunting and wearing wares out around city because they look so nice) when asked to be and always loves attending the after parties where she shares her love. Very loving wind goddess who helps those who need comfort. Immensely popular among the homeless, down trodden, and abused. Always willing to lend an ear. Due to secrets being carried on the wind, very knowledgeable about everything that happens in the city. However, goddess morality makes it hard for her to see who's evil like Warwick (a very confused and damaged soul) and Singed who amuses her with jokes. Carries a tiny bit of a grudge for being left to wane in power so much when all she wanted to do was help.
Ionia: repressed culture where people try to limit their hypersexuality with those that fail to do so being ostracized or shamed. Something about how there needs to be balance between urges and discipline. Plenty of plants and animals that help encourage lust. Vastayan hate humans for trying to limit themselves and the nature around them, damaging the environment and magic. Vastayans are very much in touch with their primal nature and urges to the point where it's considered somewhat rude to turn down sexual advances if it's from somebody of a gender that you're attracted to. Some Vastayans work to both undo the devastation on the land's magic that humans have done and prevent any further.
Syndra:
Karma:
Irelia: One of the most sexual characters, but tries to put up a hard front to hide it. Shamelessly self-indulges behind closed doors to the point where she realizes she's late for something and hurries, often finding that she failed to remove the vibrator (enchanted to be silent but powerful of course for secrecy) and cumming often during meetings. Occasionally meets up with soldiers of renown or who have performed great service and plays submissive to reward them for their bravery under the condition that they say nothing about how they fucked her silly, sometimes in groups to really satisfy her lust. Sometimes intentionally leaves her toys inside her to keep her on a buzz throughout the day for a fun night, even if it makes for some interesting meetings and interactions with others throughout the day.
Ahri: Hyper-competitive slut. Travels throughout the world on a whim, relying on kindness of strangers. Absolutely hates the idea of "silver-medal". Once traveled to Bilgewater to act as roughest bar's copper coin whore for a night and serving as the rowdiest ship's cumdump for a voyage because MF did something just somewhat short of that. Occasionally gets in over her head because of her distaste for being second best, but usually has the skills to back up her claims/boasts. Anything she has trouble with, she relentlessly tries until either she succeeds in outdoing or determines that it's physically impossible. Initial reaction at the idea of being second is almost always shock/horror at first, and then either cruel smirk or ears going flat with hissing. Take canonic sluttiness and turn it up to 12.
Akali: Sneaky ninja slut who trains her stealth by making nude runs through populated towns/villages/cities, her endurance/stamina with marathon masturbation sessions, and her body with hard physical training. Tries to find the perfect master to call her own and fight for, not agreeing with Order's ideology around the suppression of libido. Lots of sex based techniques. Loves to submit to her potential master and warm his/her bed and be the perfect sex doll, but when he/she starts showing tendencies that Akali doesn't agree with, leaves and searches for a new master. Loves shibari and other forms of bondage. Really gets off on the idea of being servile and at her master's whim when it comes to pleasure (particularly ordered to stand perfectly still while she gets fingered). Will do whatever her master tells her to out of her own free will, including seduction or assassination missions, unless it causes her serious harm for no real reason or forbids her from indulging in her massive libido as much as she wants (unless it's punishment for a serious transgression or chastity play).
Xayah: Dominant to an extreme with other Vastayan, can't help but be utterly submissive to humans and other creatures. Often gets separated from Rakan for a while by slavers and trade caravans that she pretends to fight off and struggle against but is ultimately all too willingly to play "birdy" for. Because of how aggressive and loud she is, easily annoys humans she's with about superiority of the Vastaya and how humans ruin everything to get them to put her mouth to "better use", oft fingering herself during so. However, always returns to Rakan who gets the chance to sample some sluts himself, sometimes even bringing new partners into their bed to please him. True genuine love between them to the point where they embody the expression "If you love something, let it go. If it returns to you, it's truly yours". Often butts heads with Ahri over who's better in bed. Uses techniques that she learns from the humans to dominate Vastayans even better which lets her stand on even footing with Ahri.
Tumblr media
Neeko: Curious, excitable, cute Vastayan known as an Oovi-Kat who can take form of others and possesses strong magic. Thinks she has direct ancestry with ancient progenitors of her race (may be right). Novice when it comes to sex, but very eager slut who wants to learn everything, especially lesbian sex. Most of her encounters are with females (some like making use of her ability to transform). Trying to restore Oovi-Kat tribe, even if no men like her. Vastly prefers women anyway (especially female cougars), but curious enough to play "games" with big horny animals when she takes female form of their species. However, still learning to control her powers, so always ends up losing control the moment they put their dick in her, and they go crazy over tiny, hot, wet Vastayan pussy wrapped around them. Very very into strong and powerful female champs like Illaoi, Shyvana, and Evelynn and flirts with them. Anybody she fucks, asks if they would be part of her tribe in attempt to restore. When getting fucked hard or finally orgasms, is big cuddler and wraps tail around partner or nearest thing she can wrap tail around. Very clingy and affectionate.
"To know Neeko is to love Neeko, and to love Neeko is to be one with Neeko."
Void:
Kai'Sa: Wears a living and weaponized body suit that's super perverted. Loves intimacy but the pervertedness of her suit can make that difficult sometimes. Now that she's escaped from the void, she doesn't need the suit anymore and can just rid herself of it. However, turboslut that she is, she's not getting rid of it anytime soon, even if it picks the most inconvenient times to fuck her/make her squirt. It seems to really enjoy embarrassing her, especially when she's trying to really get intimate with some guy that she just ran into. Besides find somebody she can really let herself be comfortable with, she'd like to hunt down her father and reconnect with him. However, because of the lust her suit gives her and the show she inadvertently gives, she often gets fucked frantically into the nearest available surface instead.
Bilgewater: Super open about its sexuality. Used to be a slavers' haven until Miss Fortune took control and turned it into her town. Now it's a very underground black market. Very popular vacation spot due to temperature and climate. Wet t-shirt contests are very popular and encouraged here, even a tax deduction. One week of the year, has a massive festival where people all over Runeterra come to celebrate debauchery (many people wear disguises if from more uptight cities) called the Sluttening.
Miss Fortune: A very respected captain and dangerous markswoman, but also a whore who wanders around the docks and whorehouses looking for work (she loves working for cheap). Wears a blouse that is sheer and almost completely see-through when wet which is 98% of the time considering how often she's out on a ship or near sea spray. Greatest enemy is Gangplank and Illaoi considering how often she either gets shafted by him or his men or by her god's tentacles. Also her mother was slaved by his men, leaving her an orphan and not tolerant of slavers. Does not stop her from having wet dreams of GP taking her as his personal cabin slut. Often plays up the dumb busty bimbo persona to both get more work and to have people underestimated.
Illaoi: Tentacle fetishist and leader of her god's cult. Has zero qualms about inflicting her perverted god's tentacles on both herself and the various females of Bilgewater (and Runeterra in general if she happens to run into them) as a method of testing them. Very astute test of character and is very willing to sleep with the people she deems strong, though she takes charge almost all of the time. Only woman to dom GP.
Mount Targon:
Leona:
Diana:
Soraka: Complete and total healslut. Will spend hours examining patients and then pull a double shift to tend to injured warriors in the night by spending crawling into their bed to give them "advanced care". Very very bulliable and loves every moment of it.
Shadow Isles:
Evelynn: no change lol
Kalista:
Elise:
Kumungu Jungle: jungle filled with shit ton of horny beasts and lewd plants. Some sentience. Some rich or adventurous people consider it a hunting ground for more exotic trophies. Mostly uninhabited but can find a few tribes of people who live off the land and experiment with the land and positions (basically the creators of Runeterra's Kama Sutra, adapted for the various humans, Vastayans, and other races who inhabit the land).
Nidalee: more emphasis on mating season. Practices Runeterra Sutra and knows, practices, and helps develop new techniques to practice constantly. Was abandoned as a child but has grown up to be a spectacular slut despite growing up among cougars. Constantly courted and mounted by members of her feline tribe but none can keep up with her. Rival is Rengar who she practices her techniques on the most as a method of subduing him and proving she's far more dominant.
Zyra:
Shurima:
Sivir: Main method of earning cash besides mercenary work and black market deals is prostituting herself and her company of amazonesque mercenary whores who follow her commands, especially since she recently discovered is daughter of an emperor of Shurima. Her current goal is to help Azir rebuild his empire so that can rule and never have to worry about money again. However, rebuilding empire is expensive and getting followers is hard, so hands cash part by trying to charge high prices and followers part by seducing highly influential people to her cause to use their power.
Taliyah:
Freljord:
Ashe: leader of the Avarosan tribe in Freljord and firm believer of equality, peace, and intimacy. Takes ideas from Ionia and Demacia regarding discipline and reverence towards sex, but doesn't agree with the idea of shaming sex or seeing it as a weakness. Incredibly regal, but no less debauched even if she pretends otherwise, often going into town to join the common folk in disguise, attending orgies and tending to glory holes in her free time. Not entirely happy with the war but will fight for what she believes is right. Marriage with Trynd rocky right now, and while she occasionally gives him a handy, he is in the dog house with her right now. Things may improve on that front.
Lissandra:
Sejuani: leader of the Winter's Claw and a firm believer of the idea that the strong take what they want. Sej wants a lot and is the strongest of her tribe which makes her the leader. Enjoy everything while you can and don't be afraid to indulge in every whim, whether that's being the focus of a 20 man train or letting Bristle raw her for hours as a treat. Sej loves it rough and believes that the rest of the Freljord should follow her, her tribe whole heartedly agreeing with her, their numbers including Volibear and the Ursine and Olaf the berserker since there seems to be a bevy of people who enjoy getting pillaged by both factions. Sej is certainly in that camp. Started war as a personal slight against Ashe's philosophy regarding sex, and does not form emotional attachments through sex ever.
places where whorehouses are public: - Noxus - Zaun - Bilgewater  (Incredibly open and public/blunt about it) - Mount Targon - Shurima - Freljord
places where whorehouses are discreet: - Demacia - Piltover - Ionia
places where whorehouses are just non-existent: - Shadow Isles - Kumungu Jungle - Void
War of the Freljord - War between the three sisters started between what kind of sexual environment the Freljord. Sej wants more brutal and open sex to be commonplace based on what she's seen from Noxus and Zaun while Ashe wants the atmosphere to be more disciplined and reserved like what she's seen from Piltover and Demacia (even if she doesn't at all agree with their philosophies about sex being shameful). The whole catalyst for their war was when Sej seduced Trynd and convinced him to brutally fuck her silly in his marriage bed with taunts of how Ashe would never let him do the things she's willing to do, all while Ashe was tending to a local glory hole in a disguise. Meanwhile, Lissandra just wants the world to enjoy the wonders of tentacle sex.
Piltover Elevator - The main expressway between low city of Zaun and elevated city of Piltover. People flock to this massive construction both to travel to the cities and, if you're a lady in strut, to hop towards the back in order to get molested. Particularly brave women walk on naked and stay in the front. More prominent members of that group include Vi and, sometimes if you're incredibly lucky and Vi's very assertive that morning, Caitlyn who walk on bound and blindfolded.
Gragas' Mead Hall - The site of many drunken orgies and where Gragas shares his famous brews, most popular among them being his Aphrodisiac Wine. Being Avarosan herself, Ashe often comes and joins in the celebration, though she ends up losing her disguise halfway through on account of her being fucked out of it. Her loving subjects don't remember plowing their queen, it all being a drunken blur of pleasure, but they certainly have vivid dreams about fucking her senseless with her as the center of a rowdy foursome. They certainly adore how their queen always turns into a thirsty little cumslut right from the get go in those fantasies.
The Sluttening - Festival in Bilgewater that lasts for a week. People from all over Runeterra come over to the amazing climate vacation spot. It's less rough and tumble because of all the constant sex meaning there are less fights. Booze and sex are near constants on every street you walk down. Wet t-shirt contests are incredibly common due to all the sluts wanting to prove they're the best and hottest thot to walk around Runeterra. During this time, the spirits of the Shadow Isles also wander in, bringing with them ancient sex techniques, emphatic connection due to spiritual nature, and all sorts of general kinkiness that you'd be hard pressed to find otherwise.

Maybe it’s because I was spoiled by Ashnard (BL/AM spoilers)
Having pre-battle convos with everyone and their grandmother, but as hype as the battle with a certain Lovecraftian Juliette Caesar in Three Houses was, I was a little...disappointed by the lack of pre-battle exchanges with her. I mean, it’s completely justifiable plot-wise to only have Byleth and Dimitri having them, but I was still mildly disappointed by the missed opportunity, so I took the opportunity to correct it myself! This was originally only supposed to be with the other Black Eagles, but you know how things get with me; they snowball.
Okay, I can’t (and won’t) take credit for ALL of these. Just most of them.
HE: So I see you have betrayed the Empire after all, Ferdinand. It seems you truly are so petty to commit treason over an old rivalry. Or perhaps you simply want the throne for yourself...
Ferdinand: I am anything but, Edelgard. This mad dream of yours- it ends today.
HE: You always were an arrogant bastard. Do you truly believe you can match my power?
Ferdinand: I cannot and I accept that fact. But as long as I have the Professor and all of our allies by my side, we cannot- will not lose!
HE: Arrogant insect! I’ll crush you like I should have done ages ago!
Linhardt: So your crests did hide such power after all...fascinating.
HE: Stare all you like, Linhardt. For I will be the last thing you see!
Linhardt: [sighs] It’s a shame. In all of the Empire’s history, perhaps no other ruler has used the talents at her command to the degree you have...But all the same, no other emperor has chosen a path so incredibly stupid. Farewell, Edelgard. I suppose it won’t do anyone any good to let you live in this state.
Caspar: [shocked] Edelgard! W-what the hell happened to you?!
HE: I’ve become more powerful than you could ever dream of, Caspar. You have chosen very poorly to stand against me.
Caspar: I could say the same! I’ve got no interest in gaining power just to trample on the weak like you do! And that you’re ready to become a monster to get it?!
HE: Come, show me how strong you’ve become- let me crush you!
HE: Is that you, Bernadetta? Tell me; what does the little mouse have to say before the eagle swoops in to claim her?
Bernadetta:..I finally understand what it is I wanted. I wanted you to acknowledge me. To accept me as an equal, not a vassal...But that’s not enough. You said to me “can you not live unless you were born for some purpose?” I’m not living for anyone else. There’s no special meaning in living. When I sensed my own death, I wanted to live. I know now. That’s all I needed. So...I don’t need you anymore, Edelgard. It doesn’t matter if you accept me or not. Here I am. Alive! And we will defeat you!
HE: You’ve acquired some impudent wisdom, Bernadetta. Too bad you’ve acquired it too late to do you any good! Die!
HE: [Angry monstrosity noises]
Dorothea: [sadly] Oh, Edie...what’s become of you...? I suppose...it would be the least I could do...
HE: You would dare raise your weapon to me, Petra? Your sister of sorts? After everything the Empire’s done for Brigid?
Petra: Yes, I will. I believe in the Professor. And I will not sacrificing the life of my people for your dreams, Edelgard!
HE: Insolent girl! Once I’m done with you, I’ll raze those damnable islands and salt the earth!
HE: You lowly lapdog! You would dare turn your blade against the savior of your people?! On behalf of the King of Faerghus?!
Dedue: [smug] Yes. Yes, I would. It seems you’ve taken on an appropriately monstrous form to match your soul, Emperor of Adrestia. And THAT is exactly why I believe in His Highness and the Professor- instead of you.
HE: Prepare to justify your poor choices to your butchered kin and people- your reunion with them is imminent!
HE: Grrrah! Fraldarius dog! Had it not been for you and your cursed family-
Felix: Shut up. This will be the greatest fight of my life. I don’t intend to have you ruin it with your babbling. Besides, I’ve got a score to settle with you on behalf of my father and brother anyway.
HE: Discuss it with them in the next life! Die!
Felix: Show me what you can do, Emperor of Adrestia.
Ashe: [disturbed] Waaaah! E-edelgard? Is...that really...you?
HE: You! You are the lowliest scum of them all! Raising your bow against me in favor of the murderers of Lonato and Christophe!
Ashe: Don’t...you dare speak their names, Edelgard! The very last thing they would want is for me to “live” like you- obsessed with revenge!
HE: If you are so confident in their answer, ask them yourself! Die!
Sylvain: Eeesh, I’ve heard of stress aging people, but this is ridiculous.
HE: You insolent fop! You want nothing more than to be liberated from your crest, but turn your blade against your liberator!
Sylvain: Oh, you know what? I changed my mind. That won’t matter after we beat the snot out of you anyway.
HE: Allow me to relieve you from your tortured existence then!
HE: Do you truly seek to meet your goddess so soon, weakling?
Mercedes: [softly] Dear Goddess, please forgive what I’m about to do- please grant this tortured soul the peace she was unable to find in life.
HE: [angry] Don’t you DARE pity me!
Annette: (Alright, Annie, this is it. Just stay calm, and start casting)
HE: You weak-hearted fool. Still content in your servitude for nothing in return. A pathetic old fool of a knight sires a pathetic, foolish daughter- how poetic.
Annette: [angry] Alright, you’ve done it now, Edelgard!
HE: You insignificant gnat! Do you truly love your sorry lot in life so? You hate your station and its burdens, but wish to throw your life away for this rabble?
Ingrid: Maybe I do. But I do know one thing for certain: I hate tyrants like you more!
Lorenz: [shocked] Edelgard?! How ghastly!
HE: This is what true power looks like. Your foolish notions of chivalry and noble obligations have no place in my new world.
Lorenz: [irritated] I might say the same of you and your tyranny. En garde!
HE: You musclebound dolt. What is it you truly hope to gain, standing against me?
Raphael: I made a promise to myself and everyone when you attacked the monastery. No matter who I had to do it from, I’d protect my sis and all of our friends from the Empire- even if I’ve gotta throw down with you, Edelgard!
HE: I assure you, all of them- and your dear sister- are not long for this world!
HE: I’m somewhat impressed that you found the courage to stand against me, worm. Do you truly hate your life so much?
Ignatz: [slightly disturbed] N-not at all. I love my life- I love this world. That’s why...I’m willing to give it to protect the world from you!
HE: The world needs me! It does not need insignificant specks like you!
HE: This is most unfortunate. We are very much the same, Lysithea. And yet you still have chosen poorly- for that, you must pay with your life.
Lysithea: If I had followed your path...would this have happened to me, as well...? As someone who shares your fate...Edelgard! I will destroy you!
Marianne:..
HE: Out of all our school chums, you probably confound me the most. You should be crawling to me, begging to be a part of my new order. To take revenge on those who scorned and mocked you your entire life. Called you a monster.
Marianne: [softly] Monster...
HE: I am Fódlan’s only hope for a future not shrouded in darkness!
Marianne: [angry] Edelgard! Your life ends at my hands!
Hilda:...Yikes! Talk about a bad look on you.
HE: All you EVER had to do was hand over the Hero’s Relic and TRY to convince that scheming bastard to stand down. You could have had a life of comfort, luxury, and more wealth than you could have ever known what to do with!
Hilda: And betray Claude, the Professor, and my brother? Don’t think so!
HE: It seems I misjudged you.
Hilda: Damn right you did, you freak!
HE: My new world has far greater use for your skills than this lot. Why then have you chosen these bluebloods and malcontents?
Leonie: What kind of use? Trampling on the weak? Brutally killing your enemies, real or imagined? No thanks! I’d never be able to look myself- let alone Captain Jeralt- in the eye ever again!
HE: Your reverence for that admittedly-powerful freak of nature shall be your downfall, Leonie.
Leonie: “Freak?!” Oh-ho, that’s it, Edelgard; your freakish ass is mine!
Assuming he’s engaged Myson (because that’s what I did)
Seteth: [shocked] Of course! Those attacks...THAT’S what you needed with Flayn’s blood and Rhea both. You and your friends!
HE: Nosy old fossils such as yourself have no place in my new world- or any world! Do it a favor and die already!
Seteth: [simmering anger] Well said, Edelgard. In the name of Fódlan, your victims, the Goddess, and Nabatea alike, may your tyranny wither and die at my blade!
Flayn: Edelgard please! Cease this madness and release Rhea! For everyone’s sake!
HE: A creature like you is incapable of appreciating the ideal world that I have envisioned.
Flayn: How can your world be ideal when you’ve killed countless innocent people?!
HE: You...beast! Don’t tell me what’s right and wrong!
Hanneman: Edelgard?! Goddess, THIS is the sort of power that lies dormant in crests?! I suppose, given the potential complications with Hero’s Relics and incompatible crests...
HE: I tire of your babbling, old man! Die!
Manuela: [sadly] I always knew you were a little rough around the edges- hell, I was back in my day- still am. But this-
HE: Manuela, you insufferable old hag! You couldn’t have just left the stage gracefully, could you? Allow me to grant you one last curtain call! Die!
Gilbert:..
HE: [smug] Well, well, this pathetic old knight has come to me to seek penance for his failure.
Gilbert: Not quite, lass. In the name of both the daughter and king whom I could not be there for, your tyranny ends here, Emperor of Adrestia!
HE: I shall grant you the death you seek, you pathetic wretch!
Alois: Edelgard! It is high time you answered for your crimes!
HE: What, no stupid jokes or puns?
Alois: No. For Captain Jeralt...I would have followed them to the ends of the earth and into the eternal flames- even if it meant serving you. Boy, that was a close one!
HE: Well, discuss it with him in the afterlife! I shall send your dear wife and daughter there to greet you as well!
HE: [smug] Take a good look, Cassandra. It seems your beloved Lady Rhea’s existence has finally contributed something of value to the world.
Catherine: [furious] EDELGARD! I’ll cut you into a thousand pieces, then grind you into dust!
HE: Show yourself, wretch! Know that I will find you eventually, and when I do...
Shamir: Yep, that definitely settles it. No way am I getting paid anywhere close to enough for this.
HE: What a pest you are!
Cyril: I fight for everything living and breathing and all of your victims. I fight for the Professor and all of our friends. But most of all, I fight for Lady Rhea! And it’s in all their names that I will crush you, Emperor of Adrestia! I won’t let you steal another innocent life!

ayyyy was good?? im here with my angrey boi and hes for that drama and heartbreak lol ( but really, truly, we are here for that drama )
ROBERT OLDCASTLE is a CAPTAIN OF THE GUARD & 1ST BARON OLDCASTLE OF HEREFORD. they ARE a pagan, and they DO believe in magic. HE is known to be + GALLANT & + DECISIVE, as well as - CAUTIOUS & - UNFORGIVING. little do they know that their ROMANTIC soulmate arrived from the future, and they happen to be @mvsquerades (STATISTICS)
Tumblr media
OVERVIEW
robert comes from a very minor vassal’s family. he had made a name for being a notorious and respected captain in the king’s army during the hundred years war. in the battle of formigny in 1450, he was left to die, but survived through pagan practices and magic -- the religion of his father, john oldcastle who had become a friend to the king. though his recovery made the king and his generals happy, the king’s strict law of de heretico comburendo led to the execution of robert’s father while robert was out in france fighting the king’s war. robert’s immediate fury was understandable, and just before the battle of castillon in the 1453, there had been rumours of robert and his men siding with the french in revenge of what happened. to suppress any possible rebellions from his much needed army, the king gifted robert land and title and power. currently, robert is the 1st baron oldcastle of hereford; and he is still out for revenge.
BIOGRAPHY
robert is inspired and derived from sir john oldcastle, who was executed as a heretic during king henry v’s reign in 1417. in this verse, i made john oldcastle as a pagan follower and figure, with robert as his son out for revenge.
robert’s father, also named john oldcastle, used to be very good friend of the king and helped the king out in rallying an army for his war against the french and soliciting taxes from nobles. however, once the king got what he wanted, he executed robert’s father and branded him a heretic about 2 years ago.
leading up to that, robert grew up in a very pagan and very conscientious family. they valued tradition and mainly kept to themselves. he had a good man of a father, and a loving & devout mother. siblings are still a little shifty because i might?? post a wc for one later on??
robert had an above-average childhood for a lord’s vassal’s son. he was afforded great travels with his father, and they invested a lot making sure that he was educated and learned latin and french. although, at first, he would rather just play-fight and run about with his friends; but soon enough, he fosters a sense of ambitious that refused to be quenched. it is then that he starts to invest himself more and more with his studies.
he had always known that he wanted to be in the military : to fight the good fight, to carry the banners of his land and bring home glory. what he did not know is how good he would be at it. robert rose very quickly through the military’s ranks, quickly becoming a favourite by generals due to his strategic and resourceful nature. the french may have had won victorious, but robert had a name of himself for being the last englishman standing. he was young, he was strong, and he was hungry.
a young knight’s chivalry did not go unnoticed. in fact, it was exactly what england needed after being constantly defeated by the french back in france. robert’s men were loyal to him, and he had to confidence of sir john talbot, whom he started to serve under up until 1449. by 1450, he was made captain and was given his own company of ruthless and fearless men.
robert is best known for his fight in the battle of formigny in 1450. he had fought bravely and furiously up until the very last moment of the siege. he was badly injured and was nearly dead from the battle : he had a spearhead lanced thru his shoulder and cuts over his abdomen. the french wanted him dead, and they almost succeeded.
robert does not remember much of what had happened. one minute he was laying down on the mud and blood near-death, then next he’s back in england, he was back home - safe and warm and alive. his father told him that he had been sleeping away his injuries for months, slowly recuperating. but robert did not believe it. it took him quite sometime to learn the truth but he did find out what happened: he had been brought back to life from almost certain death -- by means of magic.
his family ae true pagans and believed in magic. robert had always been skeptical and adopted the catholic way, as mandated by the church and the king. however, after witnessing and benefiting from it, he soon accepted the religion secretly while stil pretending to be of catholic faith.
news of his recovery meant good things to the king, but the means of how he recovered from such mortal wounds rose suspicion. robert was immediately sent back to france -- to aquitaine-- to he relieve the captains and their men there. in the heat of the battle, something more terrible than death happened. robert’s father was publicly executed as a heretic back in england, and his mother died of heartache and sorrow. for the first time in his life, robert lost the will to fight. some records recall of robert dropping the sword from his hand the moment he heard of the news.
the king was wrong to do that. the service that the young captain had dedicated to his country and his men garnered incredible loyalty from his company. when he said ‘je ne vois plus aucune raison de me battre,’  his men heard him and his men agreed. rumours of breaking away from last of the english army quickly reached the king. and as he could not afford to lose anymore men and definitely not a great captain, the king bestowed upon robert land, title, and power. robert nearly died again in the defense for castillon ( he was there when john talbot died of the canon ); but in him lived a new desire: VENGENCE.
the king may have thought that by naming robert with noble status, he would forgive him. the opposite happened. robert now held a title and power of his own, and with the men he led to battle still very much loyal to him, he knew that he’s in a much better position to avenge his father. robert would not forgive, robert will not forget.
currently, as baron of hereford, he acts as a marcher lord over the welsh-english border. he maybe new to being art of the high court, but he is learning the ropes quickly and have been trying to make power and important friends. he still practices paganism secretly, and have been actively looking for pagans to offer them protection.
WANTED CONNECTIONS
fellow soldiers & military personnel ( men he commanded during battle?? former enemies from france?? )
pagans ( the ones who healed him & those he seeks out and those already under his protection & friends of his father )
noble friends/allies ( for revenge and just kicking the shit )
former lover/s ( ya boi got around a bit yo )

Book Recs if you love Jaime and Brienne
This is a collection of all the book recs I could find from @briennesjaime tumblr books rec, the reddit, and my own. Please reblog your own if you have some.
1. The Queen of Attolia which is book#2 of the The Queen’s Thief series
Tumblr media
This is definitely more for the enemies to lovers trope. The thief even loses a hand like Jaime but under much different circumstances.  The Queen is like the colder version of Brienne.
Revenge When Eugenides, the Thief of Eddis, stole Hamiathes’s Gift, the Queen of Attolia lost more than a mythical relic. She lost face. Everyone knew that Eugenides had outwitted and escaped her. To restore her reputation and reassert her power, the Queen of Attolia will go to any length and accept any help that is offered…she will risk her country to execute the perfect revenge. …but Eugenides can steal anything. And he taunts the Queen of Attolia, moving through her strongholds seemingly at will. So Attolia waits, secure in the knowledge that the Thief will slip, that he will haunt her palace one too many times. …at what price? When Eugenides finds his small mountain country at war with Attolia, he must steal a man, he must steal a queen, he must steal peace. But his greatest triumph, and his greatest loss, comes in capturing something that the Queen of Attolia thought she had sacrificed long ago…
2. The Lumatere Chronicles
Tumblr media
One of my favorite series of all time. It’s character driven and it’s has many surprises. Starts off with Finnikin has lost hope like Jaime but gains it slowly over time. Evanjalin her honor and her pursuit of her quest reminds me very much of  Brienne.
Finnikin of the Rock and his guardian, Sir Topher, have not been home to their beloved Lumatere for ten years. Not since the dark days when the royal family was murdered and the kingdom put under a terrible curse. But then Finnikin is summoned to meet Evanjalin, a young woman with an incredible claim: the heir to the throne of Lumatere, Prince Balthazar, is alive. Evanjalin is determined to return home and she is the only one who can lead them to the heir. As they journey together, Finnikin is affected by her arrogance … and her hope. He begins to believe he will see his childhood friend, Prince Balthazar, again. And that their cursed people will be able to enter Lumatere and be reunited with those trapped inside. He even believes he will find his imprisoned father. But Evanjalin is not what she seems. And the truth will test not only Finnikin’s faith in her … but in himself.
3. Howl’s Moving Castle
Tumblr media
This one might be a stretch but hear me out. Howl is pretty much the embodiment of Jaime but probably more vain. While, Sophie really conveys Brienne self-esteem issues but still noble in her own right. Plus, their banter very reminiscent to Jaime and Brienne.
Sophie has the great misfortune of being the eldest of three daughters, destined to fail miserably should she ever leave home to seek her fate. But when she unwittingly attracts the ire of the Witch of the Waste, Sophie finds herself under a horrid spell that transforms her into an old lady. Her only chance at breaking it lies in the ever-moving castle in the hills: the Wizard Howl’s castle. To untangle the enchantment, Sophie must handle the heartless Howl, strike a bargain with a fire demon, and meet the Witch of the Waste head-on. Along the way, she discovers that there’s far more to Howl—and herself—than first meets the eye.
@temporiibus recommends The Raven Cycle!!
Tumblr media
“There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark’s Eve,” Neeve said. “Either you’re his true love . . . or you killed him.” It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive. Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her. His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble. But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little. For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore. From Maggie Stiefvater, the bestselling and acclaimed author of the Shiver trilogy and The Scorpio Races, comes a spellbinding new series where the inevitability of death and the nature of love lead us to a place we’ve never been before.
The Winners Trilogy
Tumblr media
As a general’s daughter in a vast empire that revels in war and enslaves those it conquers, seventeen-year-old Kestrel has two choices: she can join the military or get married. But Kestrel has other intentions.  One day, she is startled to find a kindred spirit in a young slave up for auction. Arin’s eyes seem to defy everything and everyone. Following her instinct, Kestrel buys him—with unexpected consequences. It’s not long before she has to hide her growing love for Arin.  But he, too, has a secret, and Kestrel quickly learns that the price she paid for a fellow human is much higher than she ever could have imagined.  Set in a richly imagined new world, The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski is a story of deadly games where everything is at stake, and the gamble is whether you will keep your head or lose your heart.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone recommended by @realduality
Tumblr media
Errand requiring immediate attention. Come. The note was on vellum, pierced by the talons of the almost-crow that delivered it. Karou read the message. 'He never says please', she sighed, but she gathered up her things. When Brimstone called, she always came. In general, Karou has managed to keep her two lives in balance. On the one hand, she's a seventeen-year-old art student in Prague; on the other, errand-girl to a monstrous creature who is the closest thing she has to family. Raised half in our world, half in 'Elsewhere', she has never understood Brimstone's dark work - buying teeth from hunters and murderers - nor how she came into his keeping. She is a secret even to herself, plagued by the sensation that she isn't whole. Now the doors to Elsewhere are closing, and Karou must choose between the safety of her human life and the dangers of a war-ravaged world that may hold the answers she has always sought.
The Mars Trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson. Hard SF, and the romance is definitely not a major plot, but one of the characters involved in the trope is legit my favorite fictional character of all time and that journey from enemy to friend to lover is a big part of it.
Tumblr media
In his most ambitious project to date, award-winning author Kim Stanley Robinson utilizes years of research & cutting-edge science in the 1st of a trilogy chronicling the colonization of Mars: For eons, sandstorms have swept the desolate landscape. For centuries, Mars has beckoned humans to conquer its hostile climate. Now, in 2026, a group of 100 colonists is about to fulfill that destiny. People lived because she killed. People died because he lived. Zafira is the Hunter, disguising herself as a man when she braves the cursed forest of the Arz to feed her people. Nasir is the Prince of Death, assassinating those foolish enough to defy his autocratic father, the king. If Zafira was exposed as a girl, all of her achievements would be rejected; if Nasir displayed his compassion, his father would punish him in the most brutal of ways.  Both are legends in the kingdom of Arawiya—but neither wants to be. War is brewing, and the Arz sweeps closer with each passing day, engulfing the land in shadow. When Zafira embarks on a quest to uncover a lost artifact that can restore magic to her suffering world and stop the Arz, Nasir is sent by the king on a similar mission: retrieve the artifact and kill the Hunter. But an ancient evil stirs as their journey unfolds—and the prize they seek may pose a threat greater than either can imagine. Set in a richly detailed world inspired by ancient Arabia, We Hunt the Flame is a gripping debut of discovery, conquering fear, and taking identity into your own hands.

Since its immediate success in 1813, Pride and Prejudice has remained one of the most popular novels in the English language. Jane Austen called this brilliant work "her own darling child" and its vivacious heroine, Elizabeth Bennet, "as delightful a creature as ever appeared in print." The romantic clash between the opinionated Elizabeth and her proud beau, Mr. Darcy, is a splendid performance of civilized sparring. And Jane Austen's radiant wit sparkles as her characters dance a delicate quadrille of flirtation and intrigue, making this book the most superb comedy of manners of Regency England

The Mage and The Frog
"Azerath," a gust of wind.
"Metrion," a hoot of an owl.
"Zinthos" and a howl in the distance.
The young mage opens her completely pitch black eyes as the tiny inky nerves surrounding her eyes disappears into her ashy pale skin. Her eyes slowly returning back to their humane form with irises a deep indigo blue. There is a power, a wrath within her but still it makes her completely lonely and empty. Once out of the trance of her meditation reality will sink back in, inside her coven secluded from the rest of the kingdom, hidden deep within the wood, she was alone.
And in solitude she finds herself, people of the village feared her, some wanted her hunted and burned at the stake, the priests of the church wanted her exorcised however, the king didn't seem to mind having her in the kingdom. In fact she was even called once to the palace to assist the princess in birth when all the midwives of the palace couldn't aid and deliver the infant after almost a day in turmoil, the king finally summoned her, and without her healing prowess surely the mother and infant would have perished in birth. The princess was from a faraway kingdom and she has very different views and beliefs to the kingdom's morals, as much as King Bruce opposed the union of his eldest and the princess, he wanted nothing more than his son to be happy, and clearly the said princess has given more than what the eldest prince needed.
Oh the mage was powerful, indeed one of the best in the land. Being a mage is simply a guise of her true capabilities. She possessed a power, a terrible power, which she uses to the advantage of humanity. She had helped heal wary and injured travelers over the years but never has she healed nor helped any of the locals in the kingdom, they simply wouldn't let her anywhere near them, she elicits darkness that made everyone fear her, even the king himself who is known to be one with the shadows himself is not anywhere near as mysterious as her, she could give anyone nightmares and traumatize them enough to be willing to end their lives entirely, she could open all the seven gates of hell is she wills herself, engulfing the whole kingdom to the deepest darkest realms of hell, she was a demon. But she wouldn't indulge herself with that thought. She has to fight it and get in control of herself from doing anything as demonic as the mere thought of harming anyone. She may have been created by a demon but she wasn't like him, she wasn't her father's toy.
The young girl stared at the flickering candle before her, it was late in the evening, everyone in the kingdom receded to slumber. Only the bright full moon and the meek candle illuminated her coven. This was the perfect time to draw out spells and formulate potions, this time was hers.
Slowly, she ran her dainty fingers along the spines of aged leather books, books she has collected over the years, books which bound rich spells and incantations, both for life and death. Her hand stopped, looking closely at the gold lettering on the worn red leather.
Love.
It has been awhile since she last opened this book. Arching a brow as she retrieves the book from the shelf. A book of love spells, how ironic she thought. Only humans too desperate for love would cast a love spell on anyone. Nevertheless, she opened the book and made her way to the cauldron.
"What of love?" she silently muttered to herself, Skimming through the worn and torn pages of the book.
She stopped at a certain spell.
Love's true form.
She tilted her head ever so slightly, curious as to what the spell beholds and read through elements the spell requires.
"Crushed dried rose petals, spring dew, a dash of earth, a dollop of frost and a drop of blood from the host seeking for their true love's form" simple, she already has everything in her coven. All she needs to do now is bring everything to her cauldron and chant the words of the spell.
She lifts the lid of the cauldron, ready to see what her true loves-
"Croak!"
Flabbergasted, the mage dropped the lid and eyed the cauldron. Moments later and she heard it again. A croak.
Nervously, she slowly lifted the lid of the cauldron and- "croak" a big green frog leaped to the rim of the cauldron and stared at her.
"A frog!" she squealed, "It's just a frog" she felt her shoulders ease up the moment she saw that it was just a harmless creature.
"Greetings my lady, do you mind doing me a favour?" the frog suddenly spoke. To her surprise she whacked it with the thick leather book causing the creature to fall back in the cauldron.
She sauntered over the pot and peered inside when she heard a wail.
"Whatever was that for?" the frog bellowed from inside the cauldron.
"You speak? How can you speak?" she asked surprised.
"You see my lovely lady, I am not a frog at all" the frog said as he leaped back to the rim.
The girl examined the frog for a moment and arched her brow.
"Not a frog?"
"uh well, uhm, you see that is why I need you," the frog explained "I am Garfield from the palace court."
"The palace court?" that certainly peaked her interest "so you were once human?"
"Indeed I am!" the frog stated proudly then looked down at himself "well I was human"
After a moment of hesitation, she decided to humor the frog. After all, It would give her something to do.
The girl gathered the frog from the cauldron and set him on the table as she took a seat herself, propping her elbows on the table and her chin on one of her palms she let out a sigh.
"I guess your favour has something to do with why you're a frog then."
"Yes, I have heard of you, a young and powerful mage! There have been rumors about you in the kingdom" the frog said leaping closely to her.
She stared blankly at the frog and gave him nod to indicate him to continue.
"You see, as I said, I am from the palace court, last I remember there was a ball the king was hosting, and the nobles of the kingdom was invited, even royals from other kingdoms were present" the frog continued. The king was known for his lavish and extravagant balls, royals from all across the land would flock to his palace for a night of splendor.
"A ball?" she asked. She has never been to one, everyone in the kingdom knew that the king always held the best balls and one would be lucky to have been invited.
"Yes I was eating the feast the palace has prepared when all of a sudden I just felt dizzy and suddenly everything went dark, then I woke up a frog!"
Could it be that this Garfield was once a prince invited to the ball, the mage thought. And it sounds as if he has been cursed a frog, perhaps because of a certain wrong doing or a jealous maiden seeking revenge.
"But what can I do to turn you back?" she asked lifting her head from her palms. "Surely there must have been a reason why you have been turned into a frog"
"aaahh yes! I heard there has been rumors about another mage in the kingdom, and she wants to get the prince to marry her!" the frog said, leaping over her hands.
For a moment she contemplated on flicking it away, but the thought of the frog possibly being a prince made her reconsider the action. This maybe be a prince asking her for a favour. She smirked at the thought.
"What must be done in order to turn you back to human?" she asked, lifting the frog to her eye level.
If this frog was indeed a prince, then the mage who cursed him must have done so in order to hold him captive and force him to marry her. But how did he end up in her cauldron? Was he being hunted down at this instant? Surely the other mage would be looking for her frog prince.
"Haven't you heard of this curse before?" the frog asked, quite confused. Surely anyone who toys with spells and curses would know how to turn this frog back into a human. Surely she would at least have an idea. "I honestly have no clue"
She could see the forlorn in the frog's eyes, as it dropped from her gaze and for some reason, she herself wasn't convinced of, she felt pity.
"Do you really think I go around cursing people to become frogs?" she asked sarcastically rolling her eyes, getting on her feet, she went to the book shelves on the wall and started scanning for an answer.
Then right in that instant she it dawned at her, true form. She hurried back to the table where she have placed the book of love spells. There must be something in the book to help someone turn back to their true form.
She quickly flipped through the pages of the book, looking for something, anything that could give her an idea of how to turn Garfield back to a human.
And there it was, a kiss from a princess.
If the mage that cursed the frog and forced him to marry her, then that would mean she would turn into a princess, then the frog would return to being a prince. Exactly!
"This is it! A kiss from a princess. You need to kiss a princess." She said looking at the frog on the table, he wasn't enthusiastic about the solution and felt even more hopeless. He slumped back on himself and sighed heavily.
"The kingdom only has four princes, and the only princess around is married to the eldest, I , I couldn't possibly" he said pitifully, he couldn't get the princess to kiss him, the princess already belongs to someone and kissing someone else is rather an act frowned upon. "I can't ask the princess to kiss me"
Just then the mage came up with an idea, if the frog won't kiss the princess then she'll have to just cast a spell that would revoke the curse, she would have to call upon the demons of her soul to overpower the curse, but it will cost her, she knows. And being a prince, she can surely get something out of the frog. It was a price to be paid.
"Because she is married" she flatly stated, she knows she can reverse the curse using the demons within her, but it will hurt and it will be costly. "I can reverse the curse, but it will cost you, it will cost you greatly"
"I will do anything!" the frog in depression pleaded.
"I ask for your first born" she demanded, she needed a soul. Summoning the demon in her would cost her strength and weaken her, and worst kill her. Having someone around to assist her would be useful, and of course the blood of royalty would help her place in the kingdom. Not that she wanted to be in one with them, it will just stop them from trying to get to her and burn her at the stake, or exorcise her. Also, she wouldn't have to be alone anymore.
"My first born?" the frog asked perplexed, "you want me to give you my child?"
"If you don't want to I-"
"I'll do it!"
She stared at the frog for a moment in confusion, it was never easy to give up their own child, was this frog crazy?
"Very well then," she looked out the window as a gust of wind shuddered the trees. "Shall we proceed?"
Not waiting for the frog's response, she picked him up from the table and placed him in the center of a circle on the floor, she placed candles in the perimeter of the circle and lit them one by one. She sat in a lotus in front of the frog and closed her eyes.
"Relax, this will take a while, but repeat after me" she ordered the frog.
"azerath,"
"metrion,"
"zinthos" nothing happened.
"I don't see how this is-"
"Shut up!" she exclaimed "this won't work if you don't focus!"
Again and again she they chanted the words but nothing seems to be happening.
"Well I guess I'm stuck being a frog" he jests. He was quite nervous really, now he's pressured to bear a child in order to repay her.
The mage didn't answer and just continued chanting the words. There must be something wrong with what she's doing, why isn't the frog turning human?
"I could be of some help here, if it doesn't work" the frog continued since nothing seems to be happening at all. "I know people like you typically has a raven, a bat or a black cat, but a frog can be-"
"Quiet!" she roared. "Look, do you want to go back to being human or not?"
"Well uuhhmmm you see, there's nothing wrong with being frog" he chuckled, he was quite nervous all of a sudden, he agreed to the terms given to him earlier without really thinking, now he's slowly realizing how much of a burden this truly is.
There's nothing really wrong with being a frog, he thought. It wasn't any better or worse than what he did when he was human.
"So you'd rather stay a frog?" she peered one of her eyes to look at the frog.
"Look at the bright side, at least if I stayed a frog, you wouldn't be alone, I can stay with you here"
"And do you really think I would want to have a frog around?" she sarcastically asked.
"uuhhh well, you'll have someone to talk to" he gave her a slight chuckle.
She stared at the frog for a moment before getting up from the floor and putting out the candles, she slowly made her way to her chambers. Her powers weren't working. Was this another one of his taunts to compel her to accept her true self?
It was happening again, her inner demons mocking her into submission.
But if the frog wasn't going to participate and let her focus, then she wasn't going to waste her time trying to help a pathetic little frog.
"Are you just going to leave me alone-" The door to her bed chamber slams shut. "uhhh goodnight!"
The frog was left alone in the dark.
In her chambers, the mage sat quietly in the dark. She certainly didn't want to keep a talking frog around, prince or not, but if he wasn't willing to give up his first born child then how else was he going to repay her. She couldn't just turn him back without being repaid. Everything comes with a cost.
For a brief moment she considered actually appearing in the palace and demanding the princess to kiss the frog just to get it off her back. But no, the princess and the prince were very kind to her, they repaid her well for helping deliver their first born, they even insist she stayed in court but of course she wouldn't like to mingle with the privileged of the court she basically loathed. And besides she didn't like the idea of living within everyone's reach, the priests there would reiterate she be exorcised. Well to be damned with them.
She could banish him to another dimension, leave him there to rot as a frog. But no, aside from being annoying, the frog did nothing wrong to her. Guilt would plague her if she was to do that, and she wasn't going to do something so evil, that would only please her father, not herself. And what of the woman who cursed him? She might have to face her if she banished her prince, or what if his kingdom came to look for their prince, only to know that he is stuck in the depths of hell as a frog. No, she isn't going to do something so heinous, no matter how capable she was.
When the sun has risen up in the sky, the coven was illuminated. The rays of the sun streaking in from the windows with tiny minuscule dust particles dancing and gleaming as the light hits them. It was a new day, a fresh start.
"Croak!" oh right, she should have known, the frog was still there. Annoyed and slightly offended, the mage walked slowly to where the frog was, surprisingly the frog didn't left the circle.
"Garfield, was it?" she asked kneeling in front of frog while opening her palm for him to leap onto.
"Yes my lady?" he said as he leapt onto her palm. She made her way to the table and placed the frog on top. "Good morrow to you my lady" A smile, a frog's smile if that's how frog smiled she thought.
"Rachel, call me Rachel" she said sitting down on a chair placing her elbows on the table and her chin on her palm.
"Rachel, that's a pretty name" he said with a frog smirk.
She smiled, faintly. "Are you certain you are contented with staying as a frog?" she asked looking at him with hooded eyes, taping her fingers on the table top.
His smile dissipated but he did not falter "well, at least you're not alone anymore" a jest half meant.
"I don't mind trying again, I must admit, my capabilities were not, uhhhmm at their peak last night" a lie, she knew why they didn't work. She wasn't in full control of her power and she can hear the voices in her head taunting her.
The frog was hopeful, maybe, perhaps this time it will work. "If it works this time, I cannot assure you I would be able to repay you the way you want" he said. He knew it was going to cost, and besides. Being a frog wasn't all that bad, if you have some company like a powerful mage though he would have to give up mingling with the aristocrats in court. "But if it doesn't then," he hesitates but he's assured. "Maybe I can stay here and accompany you, if you don't mind having a talking frog, that is" he smiles, he meant it. Besides, where would a talking frog even go, he couldn't possibly go back to the palace as a talking amphibian now can't he? That would scare the people and he might be accused of being possessed and be hunt down and destroyed.
A talking frog was the least of her wanted companions, but it was better than nothing, it was better than talking to the voices in her head. "You promise you'll stay?" she asked light heartedly.
The frog nodded. "You won't be alone again" and that made her smile.
With promises and debts left unkept, the mage was once again determined to turn this frog to his true form.
"I'll do it"
"What?" the frog asked unable to believe she was willing to help him despite not being certain of whether he will be able to repay her or not if the spell works.
"I'll try again" she asserted getting up on her feet. "Regardless of debts and promises, I guess we can arrange something for later" she quipped, a faint smile crept on her face, barely visible but still there.
"Thank you! You don't know how grateful I am!" he said leaping with much joy on the same spot. No one has ever showed him this much kindness before, it made him want to cry.
He looked still at the mage tears welling in his eyes. She stood up offering her palm for the frog to leap on to.
She placed the frog in the center of the circle for the second time and lit all the candles one by one. Slowly she sat in front of the frog and closed her eyes.
She began chanting again. This time more determined than ever.
"Azerath," a gust of wind.
"Metrion," the rustling of the trees.
"Zinthos." She opened her eyes, pitch black with tiny inky veins creeping around them, and suddenly a black energy in the shape of a raven emitted from her chest and cried a loud high pitched shriek and slowly surrounded the frog in a flurry of dark energy. The candles surrounding them suddenly went out altogether.
The frog has never seen such sorcery before, the darkness engulfed him and it made him scared, he thought of never coming back to see the light and it made him more afraid of the dark than ever.
The energy felt cold and dead, so cold it almost felt like burning. He quickly closed his eyes and opened them again but only saw darkness and more darkness and suddenly he felt himself slowly drifting to unconsciousness.
"Rachel?" he cried softly, she didn't hear him, her energy continued to encircle the frog in a whirlwind of darkness until it slowly faded around the frog, slowly as if it was retreating back to her.
As the energy faded leaving just a smoke blanketing an unconscious body lying in front of the mage, it slowly crept around her before completely fading away. The candles lit up and the smoke cleared away and revealed a young boy in dressed in green.
The mage's eyes slowly returned to their humane form and the veins surrounding them faded in to her ashen skin.
The boy slowly stood up and marveled at his human form, however, as soon as the mage saw the green clothes and the green hat consisted of three points with jingle bells at the end, her mouth gaped.
"You're not a prince!" she growled.
"uuuhhhh yeah" the boy said sheepishly scratching his head "I only said I was from the palace, but I never told you I was a prince"
"You're a fool!"
"heh, well, uhm, do you still require my first born?" he chuckled nervously afraid that she could turn him back into a slimy amphibian at will.
To his surprise the mage stood up and smiled, tenderly if he is even was allowed to think of it as such.
"No, but are you still willing to keep your promise?"
Garfield returned her smile, warm and tenderly.
And at that moment, the mage knew she would never be alone again.

hello this is my tornado child regina george vc: DO NOT TRUST HER!!!!! think elizabeth swann if she’d stayed pirate king as she was Supposed To Be @ disney you cowards !!!! is here for a good time not a long time, just wild af, 10/10 would go on adventure with. flirts with everything. likes pretty dresses but you’re a dumbass if you think she can’t cut you down without ruffling her skirts. crew members have lost fingers after daring suggest otherwise. her full biography is on her blog but i’ll sum her up with her headcanons below, because tbh it’s really long so read and keep hydrated. hmu for plots on here or discord but i’ll probs come find anyone who likes this because i’m very excited for my chaotic queen.
- THE BASICS.
FULL NAME: ragna pyke AGE: twenty six TITLE: captain ragna of the iron kiss, bastard of pebbleton tower SEAT: pebbleton tower. the iron kiss. LOYALTY: house merlyn, the iron kiss, herself LANGUAGES SPOKEN: the common tongue ( fluent ), volantene low valyrian (intermediate), high valyrian (basic) ALIGNMENT: chaotic neutral MBTI: estp HOGWARTS HOUSE: slytherin MOTHER’S NAME: lady serenei of volantis ( deceased ) FATHER’S NAME: lord meldred merlyn ( deceased ) SIBLINGS, IF ANY: lord manfryd merlyn, twenty-eight+. ( WC ) HEIGHT: 5’7” HAIR COLOUR: black EYE COLOUR: indigo PINTEREST BOARD: here !!
- THE HEADCANONS.
HEADCANON #1: ragna’s mother was a noble lady from volantis who lived behind the great black walls and whose family boasted the old blood of valyria. to ensure the stain of a bastard fathered by some westerosi lord never came to light, the baby was sold to meldred when he came seeking his seed a year later and any name she had been given by her mother was wiped clean, and only ragna would remain. her mother died not long after she was reunited with her eighteen years later, and now all that is left behind of the lady serenei is her daughter’s undeniable beauty and the indigo of her eyes. though not overtly valyrian, the features are enough to lure others in.
HEADCANON #2: she set the wheels in motion for the late lord meldred’s death, engineering a plan that would see her brother in his father’s seat ( someone who had always showed her fondness despite her bastard upbringing ) and her to stake her claim over the iron kiss. she’d spent years charming her father’s crew, ensuring they saw as a fitting leader should their captain fall. after the lord merlyn was found drowned, most of the crew welcomed their new captain who promised to sail them to a new dawn as part of the iron fleet. not left to decay under the curse of just satisfactory.
HEADCANON #3: ragna was shown very little affection in her childhood, and this has followed her into adulthood. any fondness she is shown now she tends to shun, not used to receiving any and so mistrusting of any who attempt it. though she loves her brother, she can’t even fully accept his love for her in return - too guilt ridden of the role she played in swaying him to usurp his own father that she’s certain it can’t be true.
HEADCANON #4: it was the reunion with her mother that set her on the path of destruction. the lady serenei’s dying breath had asked her daughter to swear revenge on her father for keeping them apart. the vow was an easy one for the bastard to make, for her father had never shown her any kindness, treating her as more a burden than a daughter. he had taken her as a selfish whim, she was his property and ought to be with him, but no more than that. now that he is dead, she lives her life for her mother now. a woman whose last words had been to impart lessons on her, that she was just as powerful as any man here, and a woman ought to always have twice as many weapons up her sleeve. there were more ways to win than steel.
HEADCANON #5: isn’t at the summit because of any loyalty to bickering kings and queens. her defiant nature ensures she won’t conform to anyone not of the iron blood. and even then her loyalty wavers. her relationship with the place she has called home all her life is difficult due to upbringing, but what is certain is her loyalty to her crew and the iron fleet. it is the iron kiss that finally gave her a home where she felt she belonged and she would die for anyone aboard that ship. not that her life means all that much to her now, who is as reckless with her own life as she is with her heart.
THE PLOT POINTS.
PLOT POINT #1: growing up, her half-brother had often been all that stood between her and the vicious hands of their father. when ragna retreated too far in to herself, it was manfryd that called her back. he taught her how to sail, and put her first blade in her hand. though she harbours some guilt for how she manipulated him for her own means, in the end the death of lord meldred was the best thing for them both. ragna very much looks up to her brother, and it's the closest thing to familial love that she's ever known. i’d love to see this dynamic because it’s really the one thing ragna has any genuine feelings about.
PLOT POINT #2: ragna was lonely in her youth, kept from most children her age. there was one who showed her kindness, and the two were thick as thieves. there aren't many she trusts, but after years of play fighting and sneaking aboard ships together, there is little she wouldn't entrust them with. whether they're still as close to this day is up for discussion, but they are one of the few who knew her as the frightened little girl she'd once been and it would be cool to have that mirror of her youth.
PLOT POINT #3: ragna is not capable of a loving relationship and she has made that abundantly clear with all her paramours. there are the odd few that she keeps going back to, whether it's curiosity or a sense of familiarity that she lacks elsewhere who knows. love is a game to her, and as with most things, she plays to win. i’d like to see how she might react to a more permanent fixture in her life, as she is used to upheaval and chaos. not something familiar.

Getting Started: Making an Adventure, Part 2
*EDIT* - The link to Getting Started: Making an Adventure, Part 1 has been repaired.
We covered part 1 of Making an Adventure here --> (Link Here), and dealt with all the trappings of a single-stage adventure.  This post will cover the ins and outs of a multi-part adventure, and even a multi-part campaign.
As per usual, it’s intended that you’ve read the posts:
Getting Started: Settings
Getting Started: Combat
Getting Started: Making an Adventure, Part 1
This will ensure that nothing said herein goes over your head, and also that you have two very big pieces of making an adventure already figured out.  Those being where is the adventure happening, and what are you killing?
Part 2: Multi-Part Adventures
In Part 1, we learned about Flags and Characters, two of the greater cornerstones for any D&D (or other tabletop game, for that matter) adventure.  After all, pulling your players in, and giving them something to sympathize/empathize/hate is a large part of what elevates any tabletop game from just getting more experience and loot to something more.
For multi-part adventures, we return to an old topic and learn how to string everything together...
     Flags, Part 2
That’s right!  Those events that trigger the adventure’s start in the first place are making a comeback!  What you learned in part 1 was only the beginning.
You see, an adventure doesn’t really end when you get the last room and kill the bad guy.  It does sometimes, even most times, but sometimes the big bad evil guy in the last room is working for someone else.  Sometimes, that bandit taking prisoners is working for a far more nefarious slave trader, or that rogue necromancer is actually part of a cabal that seeks to destabilize a prosperous kingdom for their own nefarious means.  It’s usually nefarious.
So how do we get from ‘just a bandit taking prisoners’ to ‘bandits all over are taking prisoners to fuel an underground slaver’s trade’?  The answer, of course, is Flags.  Flags for this sort of thing need to be more nuanced, though.  They need to reach the players organically, and typically play off of the players’ own tendencies.  Here are a few examples that would propel such a scenario forward:
The Bandit Captain in charge had a note on his/her person which details where to meet when ready to sell their prisoners.
Another group of prisoners at the site overheard something important from one of the bandits before the players rescued them.
Upon reporting the incident the players escaped from to the authorities (the guard, or whoever happens to be in charge of keeping order where they’re at), the players hear word of several similar incidents happening all over the kingdom.
Each one of these flags can push a player to a new adventure on their own, but you don’t always want to do that.  Sometimes, flags connect to other flags, and keep players out of the action a little longer while they work to figure out where all the clues lead.
It’s very important when connecting flags to other flags, however, that you keep you party’s tendencies in mind.  You might enjoy a sprawling tale of intrigue filled with dialogue and sparingly used combat, but D&D is about fun for everyone on both sides of the DM Screen.  If you want lots of story to happen between encounters, look for ways to keep your more combat-oriented players happy by peppering in single encounters or even entire one-offs.
For instance, following the theme of the bandit slavers, let’s say we gave the players the third flag.  They’ve spoken to the guard, but the next clue hasn’t been as forthcoming as they’d hoped.  The guard informs your players that the bandits don’t stay in one place for very long, and that while they’d love to have the help, they just don’t know where to send them.  This results in another flag, one the players didn’t realize they triggered when entering the guard house, through which an associate of a separate criminal element informs them that their boss wishes to speak with them.
At this point, we segway into...
     Characters, Part 2
A criminal is not lawful.  A dedicated officer of the law is not chaotic.  This, however, does not restrict them from being good or evil.  A guardsman can be corrupt, or carrying out the laws of an evil master.  Likewise, a criminal can be Robin Hood-esque, with a heart of gold, and embarrassingly sticky fingers.
When players are pushed to make criminal contacts, it’s important to understand that not every criminal need be their enemy.  This holds especially true when there are bigger fish to fry, and the suave, charismatic fellow who makes a living running illegal gambling dens and peddling less destructive substances (petty drugs, bootleg liquor, etc) is likely to hate a cabal of slavers moving into his territory as much as the guard.
That’s not to say that someone who makes a living being dubious will be forthright about this, though.  We are, after all, looking to keep the players entertained as the story runs its course.  In this way, you as the dungeon master have a new option to keep things fresh and varied: having this seedy, criminal mastermind demand something of the players in exchange for what his own criminal network knows that the guards do not.
Possibilities for this include:
Clearing out a safe house in some out-of-the-way place that has been overrun by dangerous, native creatures (Hi, Critical Role!)
Dealing with yet another, far worse criminal that the players’ new contact would like gone (a murderous mugger, or someone peddling extremely destructive and dangerous drugs perhaps).
Going somewhere on the character’s behalf, such as to an auction they can’t afford to be seen at, and carrying out business in their place (a possible non-combat option, for the rare party that thrives on that sort of thing)
On the other hand, you can keep the party going by taking any one of these things and connecting it to the bandit slavers instead.  Perhaps the safe house is overrun by them, or one of the bandit slavers’ more notorious members is nearby and needs to be dealt with.
Whichever path you choose to take things, it’s important to remember the characters involved.  Our new party contact is still a criminal, and what they’re doing can be a complete flip on what the players perceive.  Who’s to say they’re not working with the bandit slavers from the start, and these jobs are intended to get the players killed?  In the event of this, plant an ambush in the job the players are sent on, one with a flag that fingers their new contact as the dubious mastermind stringing them along, and prepare an additional adventure in which the players get their revenge!
No matter how it happens, your players will return to this new contact.  Whether they find the next flag by rifling through their things after a hard won fight, or have it given to them after finding their new contact to have the heart-of-gold they hope, they’ll feel a sense of accomplishment over completing that leg of this multi-part adventure.
     Characters, Part 2a - Villains
At this point, assuming your multi-part adventure isn’t a campaign in and of itself, your players will probably have a name, and maybe even a face, to attach to their enemy.
It’s at this point you need to understand your own villain, and their motives, to keep the way they fight the players in line with their beliefs.  Here are a few examples of ‘general archetypes’ you can apply to the ultimate ‘Slave Lord’ your players will end up encountering:
A garden-variety sociopath, uncaring for the emotions and plights of others, and arrogant enough to believe no one is capable of stopping them.  This character is cruel, and oftentimes oblivious to it, and carries with them a colder, joyless demeanor that might unnerve others.  They’re also intelligent, but suffer for their overconfidence.  A character of this sort will attack other characters the player know, possibly even using them as hostages, but may be too confident to consider the failures of their plans and how they might trace back to them, or think to have a Plan B for their own safety.
A born and raised criminal, seeking great wealth to rise above their status as a powerful name in the underworld and potentially seize power in a far more meaningful way.  This character is smart, ambitious, and aware of their own faults.  Their lack of sadism and sense of purpose will have them shy away from the more brutal tactics of the sociopath, but will make them more difficult to track down or catch.
A literal demon.  Yes, that’s right, a demon.  Some crimes are worse than others, and fiends, such as demons or devils, enjoy the prospect of corrupting others.  How better to corrupt than to not just subjugate people, but to aid others in subjugation as well?  The fiend is not like the other options because it is not human, and while its lack of empathy might seem similar to the sociopath, a fiend can be far more theatrical in nature.  Where the sociopath if cold, a fiend can be downright jolly as they act out their sadistic desires.  A fiend might also command other fiends, and the appearance of any fiend itself can be a major flag to send the players scrambling for answers.
The corrupt noble.  Oh yes, nothing quite sums up a villain like someone already in power abusing their station as a means to gain even more wealth and power.  This character might seem cruel and uncaring, but their inner monster is typically more nuanced than that.  An instilled belief that the lower classes are not to be thought of as people, while horrible, typically means the corrupt noble thrives on a sense of superiority, and accepts other nobles as worthy of their time.  As an addition to the corrupt noble’s tendency to abuse power, it is very likely that they have corrupt guards working for them as well.  When using corrupt guards, remember that they can rope in legitimate guards as well, and try to remind your players that not everyone they kill might deserve it.
     Wrapping it up
Yes, yes, it’s time to end it.  Your players have followed the bread crumbs, met an interest cast of characters along the way, and finally cornered the mastermind of whatever evil scheme they worked to stop.
What now?  Well, you know your villain.  Make their last words quick, as any monologuing is almost guaranteed to be interrupted by a player looking to get a cheap shot in.
You know the characters involved in your over-arching story of your multi-part adventure (or maybe even campaign, if it spanned enough time).  When the fighting is done, and assuming the villain hasn’t come out on top and ended your party’s adventuring for good, you’ll want to think about how these characters react, and how they might get in touch with the players to offer congratulations or thanks.
That aside, you know how to build a combat encounter, and at this point, you probably know the party’s capabilities well enough to make it just a little more difficult than the other tough ones they’ve had so far.  If the adventure they went on tied in to the greater theme of their setting, perhaps it can them an audience with someone important (a powerful lord, or even a king) as a result.  Whatever the reward you give them, recognize the time it took for them to achieve their hard-fought win, and make sure it’s at least a little better than the usual.  If you’re worried about giving them too much, something special, like a favor from someone powerful or a grant of land to do with as they please might also suffice.
And yes, when the ultimate villain of the adventure is dead, you can add yet another flag to an even greater threat.  I suggest taking the players to a new region if you do this, though, as a change of scenery (and local problems) goes a long way towards keeping things fresh.
     In Conclusion
This is it.  At this point, with a setting, an understanding of how to build combat encounters, and the know-how to make your own adventures, you have all the bare bones tools to run your own game of D&D.
You’re probably going to make mistakes, whether it be in your own performance or some of the decisions you make (the most common one probably being to give your players too much loot/gold).  That’s fine, so long as everyone is having fun.
That is, after all, all that really matters: having fun.  If you’re doing it, and your players are doing it, then you’re doing it right.  Realize this as you do things, and understand the players are driving the ship.  This will destroy your hard work on occasion, but that comes with the territory.  If your players are ever abusive or uncaring of the hard work you put into organizing the game, don’t be afraid to walk away!  You are not there for their enjoyment, and they are not their for your enjoyment.  You’re all there for each others enjoyment, to hang out and have a good time with a bit more theatrics and dice rolls than usual.
Thank you for reading along here at D&D&EE, and stay tuned for additional posts on the finer points of things like Loot, Legendary Actions, and how to keep a sprawling campaign interesting.

Fire Emblem Elibe - New Hidden Characters
Continuing on from the New Characters who joined automatically (or, in Bauker’s case, somewhat telegraphed recruitment requirements), there were also plans for three other characters to be promoted to playable (in the main game), albeit with more challenging or arcane requirements to recruit them. Two of these were for the FE7 side of the story, one of these was for the FE6 side, all of them are late-game units, and ones I wanted to keep the most held back for a surprise, but, since the projects probably not going to actually ever be a thing, anyway, might as well share those plans I had.
Careful, folks, under the cut, this gets pretty long.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ursula
Recap/Summary: One of the Four Fangs, and technically the first one whose presence is felt. While perhaps the least “sympathetic” of the Fangs, Ursula still had a tragic quality both in the text and the subtext, between a manipulative, no doubt unrequited and exploitative relationship with Sonia, and the understanding that, Jaffar aside, the Fang used to be a noble if anti-heroic organization before Nergal and Sonia corrupted it, and Ursula was already one of the Four Fangs before they joined. Frankly, I just wanted to give her a chance.
Recruitment: Which is ironic to say given what you have to do to recruit her. First, talk to her in Chapter 26...with Nino. If you can somehow get Nino through the fog of war and Bolting, Nino will ask Ursula why they even had to kill Prince Zephiel in the first place...and keep asking her when each answer doesn’t satisfy her, until Ursula’s cool facade cracks and she admits that she doesn’t know, either, and has her own concerns. She doesn’t technically join the party, yet, but this does unlock 26x as well, and Ursula joins Nino and Jaffar in confronting Sonia, to which Sonia shows disappointment and casts Ursula aside. With lingering affection for Sonia holding her back, Ursula still only joins the fight as an allied NPC who otherwise doesn’t move. If she survives the Chapter, she finally joins as a playable character.
Gameplay: If you never recruited or used Priscilla that much, Ursula proves an alternative for your Mounted Magic User needs, especially given her very high Weapon Ranks compared to freshly promoted Priscilla. Her stats might pale a little bit in comparison, but Ursula would prove a very solid end game unit.
Supports: Ursula could support with the following characters: Vaida, Nino, Legault, Priscilla, Sain, Jaffar, Rath, Leila, and Karla. A lot of these supports would touch on a lot of tragic feelings: Ursula would’ve been resentful of Legault for being able to walk away from the Black Fangs despite being a founding member; Ursula would join Nino in mourning Lloyd, Linus, and Brendan; and talks with Rath and Karla would let her know more about Sacae, and of Uhai, another former member of the Fang. Priscilla and Sain would be somewhat of a bright spot, taking Priscilla on as an apprentice of her own without the manipulative relationship Sonia had with her, and Sain would continue to do his thing of helping his female partner forget her worries (she quickly makes it clear that no amount of flirting will actually woo her to him, but she appreciates his jovial company). With Vaida, Ursula is at first bitter to swallow her pride and apologize to her former “rival,” and though Ursula at first mocks her, she takes pity on her in their A Support, and offers for Ursula to ride with her in support of Zephiel, if it’d give her new purpose. In most of her endings, Ursula goes into hiding, living out her days in obscurity, continuing to pursue her knowledge of magic and history. In a paired ending with Nino, she even offers the girl a place to lie low until she can go back for her family after the events of FE6. However, if Ursula pairs with Vaida, she instead joins her as Zephiel’s “shadow,” and shows up with Vaida as an unnamed bonus boss during the fight in Chapter 22 of FE6.
Leila
Recap/Summary: This one was tricky. I mean, I always intended to have Leila become a playable character; she was too cool and had just the perfect potential Serra support not to promote to playable. The quandary was: what about her death in Chapter 18? I was really inclined to just dump it, since you didn’t need more of a reason to despise Ephidel, and the man-pain it brought Matthew and Hector was rote, less-so with Matthew, but, still, could’ve easily been dropped... But there was what it brought to Jaffar. The emotionally void Angel of Death, when he finally starts to become human, is confronted by the lover of one of his victims, repercussions of his deeds come back seeking revenge, and confronting him with the weight of his past. Entirely for what it does with Jaffar, that support works, and thus, Leila’s death works...but it can still work with her recruitment.
Recruitment: At the end of Chapter 27, after defeating Linus or Lloyd, and the last remnants of the Black Fang, Eliwood and co meet with Bramimond, the Enigma, the Legendary Hero who lost their soul and their identity to the Dark. To unlock Leila as a character, you’ll need to have deployed Matthew, Canas, and Pent during Chapter 27, and all three of them must have gotten at least one kill, each. So long as you’ve been using all three of them, there’s more than enough enemies to meet that bar, but the key word is using. Once you meet that requirement, during the meeting with Bramimond, a bonus scene plays out, where Canas and Pent seek to find out just why Apocalypse stole Bramimond’s soul while the other Legendary Weapons didn’t, to which Bramimond reveals that Apocalypse wasn’t the ultimate power of Dark Magic, but Oum. The magic of resurrection, which Bramimond was able to achieve. Hearing this, Hector immediately suggests using it to revive Elbert, but Bramimond explains that those whose Quintessence were drained and stolen could not be brought back. But Leila wasn’t; Matthew steps forward and pleads with Bramimond to bring her back. Bramimond tries, but, without her body present, and without using all their power for fear of their body deteriorating to nothing, Leila is brought back to life on borrowed time, doomed to pass on within a year’s time. Deciding to make the most of it, Leila joins the team to defeat Nergal. This also sets up just how Bramimond was able to completely resurrect Ninian, why that seemed to kill Bramimond, and why Ninian’s human life span was cut so short afterwards.
Gameplay: Like Jaffar, if you’ve been using Matthew and Legault strictly for their utility and not actually putting them in battle, Leila can function as a more combat oriented Assassin, and is, along with Jaffar, the most statistically capable of that class with the Strength, Skill and Speed to back it up. Using the absolutely bonkers stat growths hidden in the FE7 data, Leila would’ve just been insane, “held back” only by her “low” for an Assassin speed of “just” 26. She was, next to Athos, the “treat” character. You jumped those hoops, you have fun.
Supports: Leila would’ve supported with the following characters: Matthew, Hector, Serra, Jaffar, Raven, Guy, Karla, Ursula, and Bauker. Like with Ursula, Leila’s supports would have been on the more sad side of things, albeit presented with a stiff upper lip and attempt to be chipper. Her supports with Matthew, Hector, and especially Serra are her last chance to connect with and bond with her friends and loved ones before she dies for good, although Serra insists that, just because Leila’s on borrowed time, she not actually throw her new life away without fear, otherwise she’d never forgive you and “won’t eulogize your funeral.” With her past as a spy, Leila is able to confront Raven and help bring clarity and understanding as to what happened with his noble house, and impress on and convince Bauker to turn his talents to field intelligence rather than be strictly a soldier. She also gets a chance to forgive Jaffar, or, rather, allow him to make amends and wish him well on his journey of humanity. In her ending, Leila eventually settles down and just enjoys a quiet life before passing away peacefully. In a paired ending with Matthew, they have just enough time to sire a daughter, to carry on Leila’s memory after she’s gone.
Gale
Recap/Summary: The true Third Dragon General of Bern, made official after the death of Narcian, Gale is a noble, if grim, knight, ever true to Bern, whose only crime was committing to Zephiel and Murdock as much as his lover, Melady, committed to Guinevere. Though bearing no true ill will to Roy, Melady, or Zeiss, and indeed encouraging them to remain true to their convictions just as he does to his own. But does he really have to throw his life away for “honour?”
Recruitment: First, talk to him in Chapter 21 with Melady, the one time he shows any sort of hesitation in his conviction. Then, talk to him with Roy, which will prompt Guinevere to take the field and speak with Gale, herself, impressing on Gale just why Melady chose her instead of all of Bern. Realizing that, even though they’ve treated him personally well, Murdock and Zephiel aren’t best for Bern anymore, and wouldn’t have been exclusive in giving a lowly foreign-born like him a chance, Gale leads his squadron off the field, giving you room to breathe. So long as you quickly defeat Murdock afterwards, Gale will join the party at the end of the chapter.
Gameplay: Already a famed Dragon General and master knight, Gale serves as a sort of Physical version of Niime, the Hermit of the Mountain. He’s already got serviceable, boss-worthy stats, and has pretty much hit his ceiling, he doesn’t have much more room to grow after that, maybe a point in Luck or Defense, some complimentary HP bumps on his last two levels.
Supports: Gale would’ve supported with the following characters: Melady, Guinevere, Zeiss, Perceval, and Fae. Able to repair the rift between him and the other two wyvern riders, Gale would’ve been able to atone for his stubbornness and pride, and continue to act as support and guidance for the two promising knights. But the real meat of his supports would’ve been his chance to meet Fae, the divine dragon, and the youth of dragonkind, to see who Zephiel would’ve turned the world over to, and espousing some truth in Zephiel’s ideals, stripped away of all the bitterness and betrayal Zephiel himself went through that muddled and soured his outlook. In his ending, Gale would have voluntarily stepped down from his rank of Dragon General, serving as a humble rank-and-file captain in the standing army under Guinevere, out of respect for his new queen, and his initial opposing affiliation.
