not to be unhealthy on main, but seeing my mom for the first time since i moved to iowa and being greeted with, "you've lost weight!" repeated several times over an hour is great for my fragile self worth!!!

#listen. the women in my family have a horrific relationship with food and disordered eating and weight and self image #having my mom say that when i know it's probably actually true is amazing #ostensibly losing weight is the highest compliment and is a prize in this family #it's succeeding. terribly twisted and unhealthy but like. my mom's fam is all fucked up #family inheritance is mental illness and occasionally alcoholism. it's fine
