the eternal conflict between the admiring reblog of a gorgeous dress, outfit, or piece of clothing

and the resentful refusal to reblog because nothing like that is ever made for someone like you to wear

#i love beautiful clothing as much as the next person - especially the artistry drama and originality of design #but also i'm fat and i would never fit into any on those designs #and i'm resentful of the focus on transparency and strapless/backless etc gowns that work for *no one* with #an actual bust ... or flabby rolls or jiggly bits or varicose veins #and sure you can say well they're not made for those people (me) or you can say spanx or #you can say well if you can afford a dress like that you can have it altered and that's true but it's not what i'm talking about #it's the internal conflict about circulating and promoting a beautiful image but one which i and a lot of other people are excluded from #interacting with as anything other that a piece of art #i can't even dream of someday wearing these things (were i to completely devote my life to only fitting the criteria #to *wear that dress* bc of things that are immutable about me without medical or surgical intervention #so every time these fadhion posts come around i'm torn because yes those are gorgeous clothes but the best i can do #is imagine a character or actress wearing them since even a cheap knockoff would be forever out of my reach #and each time a part of me is angry that i NEVER see images of beautiful artisan-crafted high-fashion things #made for someone like me - or the other millions of women shaped like me
