I do like the fact that in a session where there were three permadeaths, they were all so very different.
There was the useless, senseless accident that was Jimmy's death. Jimmy's death was unique because it was both preordained and fiercely denied. After three series with Jimmy the first permadeath, it's almost a game in itself to make it not happen again. People were willing to die to keep Jimmy from going out first. Bdubs, who was barely Jimmy's ally, literally begged Jimmy to kill him when Jimmy's timer ran into the single minutes. Scott jumped off a bridge to give Jimmy just a bit more time to live. Grian and Joel were on deck, ready to spoonfeed more life into Jimmy with their own deaths if they needed to, just to keep that canary chirping a little longer. But none of it mattered in the end, because Jimmy's foot slipped in a moment of excitement and he was too startled to pearl or bucket clutch or do anything to save himself. Gone in an instant for no reason and no chance to say goodbye.
There was Joel's death, a helpless, hopeless race against time and an implacable enemy. Joel made some serious tactical mistakes in his final episode. His gleeful killing alienated him from his allies, antagonizing the Clockers by killing Cleo, annoying the Nosy Neighbors by killing BigB. He griefed Scott's base with TNT twice, once tactically and once just because he wanted to blow stuff up. By the time he was down to the wire, there were lots of people who wanted him dead and barely anybody who wanted him alive. Even Grian, his Day One ally, eventually realized that trying to keep Joel alive was a losing proposition when Scott and Scar and Martyn and Cleo could siphon away Joel's time much faster than Grian could ever donate it. But even knowing that it was hopeless, even knowing that a _best case scenario_ would barely carry him into the next session, Joel fought desperately til his last second ticked away.
And then there was Skizz's death, premeditated and proud, carried out at the hands of a friend. Skizz had been dying from the very first day of the server. His Session One was absolutely atrocious, losing four hours right off the bat to back-to-back Bogey kills. No matter how well he played after that, no matter how many kills he got or plans he came up with, Skizz was never seriously in contention to win the game. And he knew that. He came up with alternate win conditions for himself. He set a goal to affirm every person on the server and he did. He set a goal to make the team he led a force to be reckoned with, and he did. And most importantly, he set a goal that somebody from TIES make it to the end of the game. By Session Seven, it was clear that Skizz wasn't going to be around to bring that goal to fruition himself. Time was not on his side, and his skill was just not there. Skizz is a clever redstoner and a good entertainer, but he's no PVPer and his bow skills are mediocre. Every time he tried to get a kill, he wound up losing more time. So when it came down to the wire, he didn't beg for his life or fight for more time, despite knowing his friends would give it to him. He called his team together and he gave them his new strategy. Someone from TIES needed to make it to the end, and it couldn't be him. But they could take his resources and his time forward with them, so long as he gave them up willingly. By sacrificing himself for his team, Skizz lost his last 20 minutes of life, but he put his team one step closer to that final goal.
There's probably only one session left, which means it's going to be choked with permadeaths that don't get focused or remarked on very much. Each one will be different though, each one will have its own flavor. In a series like Limited Life, the end is never in question, but the ending is unique to each player.

@thatlesbainmushroom and @jjlovesgoodies (hope you don't mind the tags, I was not sure how else to make sure you seen this<3) both said yes to hearing about my roomies zombie au, so here it is!! Though, I must admit that it is more of a half-baked idea than a fully thought out au. I'm not sure if I will ever actually write it, so it's free game with credit.
I suppose a TW is required before you read any further. It is a zombie au, so it is pretty grim. Mentions of death, blood, injury, and other apocalypse typical things.
Etho and Cleo were college roommates before everything went to shit. Cleo was a graphic design and arts student in her fourth year, while Etho was an engineering student in his second year. They have been together since the start, and were actually in their dorm room when the chaos started. Bdubs used to be with them, but they lost track of him (and his horse) months ago. They assume he is dead.
Grian was a first year architect student from a few towns over. His group consisted of his roommates, Jimmy and Joel, along with his work friend, Scar.
None of them had ever used a gun before the apocalypse, so it is none of their preferred weapon. Cleo has a baseball bat, Grian has a knife, and Etho has a machete. Etho and Grian both carry handguns but rarely use them. Cleo knows how to use a gun but does not carry one and would have to be in mortal danger to be convinced to use it.
Cleo is immune to the bite, something they found out at the beginning because a classmate had bitten her and she never turned. Though, this immunity would not hold any narrative weight. The world has fallen apart, there wouldn't be anyone left to try to find a cure from her anyway. They are just focused on surviving and trying to keep each other safe.
However, because of her immunity, she does take risks that Etho doesn't/can't. She used to be a real softy, not much a fighter who was all bark no bite, but she would do anything to protect Etho. She has many scars, from bites and scratches, because of this reckless behavior.
It would start with Grian having just been separated from his group and he's been wandering around the remains of a big city looking for them. He eventually gets overwhelmed by a hoard and ends up cornered in an alley, where he is then saved by Etho, who kills the zombies and offers to bring him back to his camp.
Grian says no and tells him he has to keep looking for his group, but Etho is persistent. Grian caves and agrees to go with him when Etho offers to help look for his missing friends; no strings attached.
The group traverses the remains of the burning world together for several months looking for Grian's group and slowly getting to know each other. Etho and Cleo share information freely, but Grian is more reserved. He only answers simple questions about his past. They barley know anything about this group they are trying to find. Instead of opening up as the months' pass by, he actually becomes more and more reserved.
He keeps asking why they keep helping him when they have no obligation to do so, especially since he's given them next to no information or reason to trust him, and they say why not? They don't have anything better to do than lend him a helping hand.
Grian leads them more and more northwest as time goes on, telling them that he was told to head in this direction to meet back up with his group, but still, they find no trace of them.
Around 6-7 months into traveling together, the group do a supply run in a mall that they thought was safe and end up getting trapped inside with no way out after Grian brings some kind of a display/structure down on top of himself on accident and it attracts a hoard that was hidden away out of sight.
They are very low on ammo, Etho was bit while getting Grian out from under the display, Grian was injured by the accident, and they're all too exhausted and malnourished to fight. They make it into a staff area, but there's no exit that they see, so they barricade the door. It is only a matter of time before the hoard breaks through.
Sitting inside of the small room, Grian admits to them that his group was already dead and had been for a while. He tells them that he had actually been ready to die that day Etho found him. He felt bad letting Etho's kindness (which was a rarity in this dying world) go to waste, so he went along with it.
He was just along for the ride at first, leading them on a wild goose chase while waiting for a chance to leave them, but then he grew to care for them. He never thought he would find friends again in a world like this, but, somehow, he did. They gave him a purpose, a reason to keep going. They made him want to live again. They made him happy. They made him laugh; something so simple and yet so important.
He didn't want them to leave him behind once they found out the truth, so he'd kept lying to them and pretending like he was still searching so that they would have a reason to keep helping him, a reason to have him around.
He was closing himself off all that time in an attempt to hold onto the one good thing in his life. He tells them that he's sorry, that he loves them, and that he's scared.
Cleo and Etho say they don't care that he's been lying, and that he's just as important to them as they are to him. They say that whatever happens next, they'll do it together.
And then in my mind it would end somewhat ambiguously/open ended as the zombie's break through.

This is the piece I did for @hermitzine! It was so much fun to be a part of this project and get to work with everyone! The theme of this zine was music and I hope that's obvious in this piece :)
~~~~~~~~~~~
The sound of the record skipping is Joe’s alarm clock this morning, and it’s only because it skips multiple times that he actually gets up. Darn, he slept in again, and now he has to stay up late again so he can finish the parts of the machine that he needs to get done, and it’ll just end with him sleeping in again. At least he has–oh. The record that has been playing all night (and also for the past few weeks, if he’s honest) has a massive groove in it, tearing through all of the ridges and splintering the vinyl.
“Aw, man,” Joe mutters, staring at the destroyed disk in his hands. “That’s my last one of those.” To be fair, he probably should have expected something like this to happen after using the record player while placing hundreds of blocks of sand, but it’s still sad. To be fair, this has happened to the last five disks he overplayed, but Joe is nothing if not persistent.
The next day he and Cleo are halfway through their weekly crafting session when they hum. “No music today?” Joe waves a hand.
“Some days the best music is the sound of nature around you.” He sets down a pencil and listens to said sound of nature, which is currently someone very violently chopping down trees. “You know, be in the moment, and all that.” He’s never lived in the moment once in his life and they both know it, but then again neither has Cleo.
“Sure.” Cleo pauses for just a minute. “Not this music, though. Ugh, who is…” They both glance over across the river, where Keralis is hard at work collecting wood. He pauses briefly to wave once he’s noticed them looking, smiling widely. They both wave back and Keralis continues, moving on to the next tree.
“Do you ever think about how our lives have a soundtrack?” Joe says after a minute, mindlessly coloring the sheets of paper he brought, tracing out the blueprint for a part of the pinball machine. Cleo looks over from where she’s drawing in her own notebook.
“No?” They say, voice lilting up like a question. “I don’t? Why, do you?” She wrinkles her eyebrows, more focused on the calligraphy than really focusing on the conversation. It’s how they roll, most weeks. Joe talks and Cleo nods along.
“Well, sure! I like to think about the song that might be playing while things are happening. For a while, it was otherside, but…” Cleo glances over again, this time more interested.
“You broke all of your disks, didn’t you?”
“Yeah. I must have played them in the sand too much or something. Whomp, whomp.” He follows the statement up with a laugh, sort of high-pitched and frantic. “D’you think we all have different soundtracks then, if we do?”
“Oh, for sure,” Cleo says, in a voice that still sounds like they’re just humoring him. “Like Doc? His soundtrack is all scary, like heavy metal, right? There’s no way he and Scar have the same backing tracks.” They pause for just a second. “No, I lied. Doc’s isn’t heavy metal, he’s too much of a softie. Pearl’s is. She’s bloody hardcore.”
That’s an accurate assumption, Joe guesses. He hasn’t been privy to much Pearl has done this season, but he’s fairly certain she just built an entire Ender dragon out of pilfered dragon eggs. If there’s someone able to intimidate Cleo, it’s her.
“So what’s yours, then?” Cleo asks, setting her pen down and leaning on her hands. “Whatever song you’re obsessed with now over and over?”
“I don’t have much time for anything else.” Joe laughs again. “Besides, sometimes the best soundtrack is the same song, over and over, just played at different tempos depending on mood.”
This earns him a patented Cleo lookTM as she turns back to her journal, picking up a small knife. They don’t talk for a while after that, instead listening to the leaves rustle, water flow, and trees topple.
“Here,” they say eventually, after the wood-collecting has gotten to be too much, and pass Joe a record. “Put this on, I know you’re aching to.” He gasps, energy he hasn’t felt in a while jolting through him, and pulls out his jukebox.
“Thanks, Cleo!”
The aforementioned record is a simple piano tune, the melody and harmony weaving in and out of each other’s path, spinning down the river and floating high into the air. It fills the server with its music, and although Joe knows that the little song is barely reaching further than Keralis he’d like to think that Tango, in the depths of Decked Out 2, and False, high up on a snowy peak, and Grian and Doc, fighting their battles over the perimeter, can hear it.
It’s a song that, although the notion is cliche, feels like home. It has managed to encapsulate the feeling that persists, from all ten years of Hermitcraft, of family and friends and feeling like belonging.
Prep & Punk - Flower Husbands
AU by @vyeoh, it's really cool and stuff and all their art is really good
AO3
[Treebark thingy from this AU]
Jimmy would literally rather be anywhere but where he was now. In Scott's bedroom. Trying to focus on maths. With only him and Scott in the whole house. Completely unable to focus.
Why was Jimmy spending his weekend with Scott and not Grian and Joel? As much as studying wasn't a 'bad boy' thing,  almost failing most his classes was apparently even less so. So their math teacher assigned Jimmy a tutor - Scott apparently volunteered to spend his time trying to get some information into Jimmy's head. He had no idea why after their last rather messy break up and the whole Tango thing... jimmy tried really hard to think about geometry and not that. It wasn't all that hard. But quite frankly focusing on anything right now was a bit difficult.
In the past three months, he spend pretty much ignoring Scott's existence he forgot about a certain habit Scott had. He liked to wear skirts. Not a bad thing in the slightest. Jimmy was all for everyone wearing whatever they wanted. He, Grian and Joel had their leather jackets. Cleo, Scar and Bdoubs their weird old people shades, and Tango and his friends had their ties. Scott and Martyn had Pink. The capital 'P' is not a typo. Literally every Wednesday the two showed up in pink. And back when Jimmy was dating Scott he himself would wear something pink to fit Scott better.
Grian and Joel still poked fun at him for that.
No. The skirt was neither nothing new or a problem in itself. The problem was how much of Scott's legs it exposed, making Jimmy's brain unable to think about anything but that. And suddenly realise he's missing Scott. But who could blame him? Scott was damn pretty and smart and... just Scott. And that maybe his marks were better when he'd sit around Scott and Martyn - very unhappy that Scott would explain everything to Jimmy at least three times - studying. Jimmy was no Grian or Joel, just hearing about a thing during the class was not nearly enough for him.
A sudden flick to his forehead had him looking up at Scott's face. It was no less distracting than the skirt. "Eyes up here Jim," he chuckled and Jimmy felt a weird pang. He never called him back when... "Have you heard a single word of what I just said?"
"Juliet's potion only made her look like she died?" Jimmy tried to scrabble together something they talked about in the past hour. He instantly knew he was wrong by the sigh Scott let out.
"We're at maths, Pythagorean theorem," he said but did not sound the slightest bit angry. Just a bit disappointed and maybe sad. "You didn't use to be that bad, Jim, no matter how short of a skirt I wore in the past. What happened?" he asked, pushing some hair off of Jimmy's face.
Jimmy just shrugged. He was not about to admit he didn't really study without Scott there. "I don't know," he shrugged instead and tried to focus on the pale pink, full of colourful side comments and sticky notes page of Scott's notebook. Scott's notes were always so clear and easy to understand. Jimmy sat through more than one session of Scott working on them and technically understood how it worked but was still beyond impressed. "I guess I was busy with other things..."
"I know I'm probably the least 'bad boy' person you know but you know you can always come and ask me if you don't understand something?" Scott sighed, leaning back and gently kicking Jimmy under the low table they were sitting on a fluffy carpet by. "I know you probably like Tango better... I can see when I've lost but... I don't want you to fail school. Not when I know you're smarter than that," he said, looking away from Jimmy, all slumped and sad and Jimmy felt mildly like a jerk.
He broke Scott's heart with a damn text. Managed to stay together with Tango for only like a month until they both realised they are too different. And then spend two more months avoiding Scott and admitting his own feelings. And throwing all the studying Scott practically dragged him through away... "No... Me and Tango... We weren't all that compatible... Not that way. He's cool to hang out with but most of the time I have no idea what he's talking about, it's damn hard to keep up with him..."
"Jim... please don't..." Scott protested and pounded the table. Glaring at Jimmy with teary eyes.
"I'm not," Jimmy stopped him and gently took his and in both of his. "I've spent three months being an idiot and I'm frankly done with that. I missed you. I missed carrying your bag. I missed you leaning on me when there are no free chairs or we're stuck in a line. I missed sitting silently while you study. I even missed Martyn's grumbling. But mostly I missed listening to you talk and just being around you... I missed you Scott," Jimmy really hoped he managed to express what he just realised. That his grouchy and angry phase was just him denying he was missing Scott playing with his hair and playing with Scott's hair. "I miss you so damn much..." he added, barely a whisper, not daring to look away from Scott for even a second.
"You promise... you promise it's all true and nothing but?" Scott sniffed, staring at his held by Jimmy's hands.
"I do, Scott," Jimmy nodded. He was never so sure of anything he's ever said.
"So it'd be okay if I said we should have a break and maybe a nap?" Scott asked with a pout.
Jimmy had nothing against a break and a nap. Maybe ended up texting home he'd be staying over at Scott's and not at all telling Grian and Joel where he was the whole weekend. And maybe Scott wore Jimmy's leather jacket the whole Monday. And maybe there was a bright pink hairpin in Jimmy's hair.
Jades crack pairing got me thinking..
So let’s say in some alternate double life universe, everyone knew about Grian and BigB cheating on their partners, and both Ren and Scar are somewhat over it. At this point they’re just annoyed and consider themselves completely single.
Now… Ren is attractive, of course. There’s no doubting that. He’s a wolf man! He’s dominant, large, and often dirty with his language. It’s no surprise that when Ren is suddenly on the market, lots of people flock to him.
But Scar wasn’t expecting it!
(I hope you don’t mind Scar centric content- he’s my favourite)
For the longest time, he’s only had eyes for Grian. So much so that he was completely oblivious to the loving and lustful gazes other players would send his way, raking over his body and undressing him with their eyes (unless of course, he wasn’t wearing many clothes to begin with).
But now that he was over Grian and trying to focus on winning the game? He couldn’t help but become flustered at the, now obvious, advances the other competitors were making at him, smirks on their faces and half lidded eyes, looking at him through their eyelashes with hunger. He felt.. well- he didn’t know. He was flustered. Overwhelmed. But… he didn’t mind it.
He doesn’t remember who flirted with him first, but the more it happened, the more he wanted to give in. He was so tempted to agree to spend the night with Scott and Cleo. To follow Pearl to her tower and treat each other the way they needed. To agree to watching etho and Joel play a scene. Hell, he even considered taking up Rens offer of “helping him out” should he ever feel “particularly lonely”. (Now that… that is a very good idea. We need more double life renscar sex)
He was a man on a mission, black open shirt, red in his eyes. He just wanted to win so he could get back to hermitcraft. But it was a bit difficult to stay focused when the rest of the server was trying to ride him into oblivion.
How does Grian and BigB react to this? That’s up to you
YEEES GODS YEAH
I always love the headcanon of Grian being very possessive still over Scar. Even tho he's being a right dick head atm- he still considers Scar his
So I'd like to believe in this scenerio he'd be fuming.. He'd be glaring at anyone who stares at Scar too long. He's probably even cornered a few ppl to growl at them and threaten them to stop, onyl to have what he's done shoved in his face like he deserves to kno how much he's fucked up <3
I think the narrative problem with Clawd is he's mostly just.... there. Background characters get more wants and quirks than he has so far. That won't be a problem if you really like his design or the way he's acted, but for the people who aren't innately sold on the aesthetics and acting, it really doesn't give much to grab on to. We've had shots of Ghoulia playing viddy games with Frankie and Lagoona, Manny's been around whenever there's academics or book learning involved, heck even Heath and Spectra get enough one off lines to hint at interesting things about them and their families. Clawd though... he had that bout of being over-bro-tective... he... has been separated from his mom but isn't given a plot about pushing harder to get her back, or even standing in the way of the plan, out of fear for Clawdeen... he's new to school but Frankie's new to being ALIVE so it's hard to really make that a new interesting plot point... I've never MINDED him, still, I can't say I was ever excited to see him. Goobert being on screen got me cheering. You'd think it'd be hard not to make Clawdeen's second born but technically older long lost monster pest hunting brother an unexciting thing. So when he and Draculaura are given a pair of crushes on each other, outside of the meta appeal, it's just... meh?
(Especially compared to Clankie and how Deuce was handled- the slow hint dropping, the many hang outs and scenes together, shared personality traits they bond over, clear acts of caring and interest on both sides, Frankie and Deuce being good buddies completely separate of Cleo, the three of them getting an ep together just to SHOW how Cleo and Deuce are happily broken up and Frankie's blushing like crazy over Cleo...)
But who knows. Maybe Clawd and Draculaura will get a enough good moments going forward to smooth things over. It's not like the Monster High Generation 3 writers aren't GOOD at writing, obviously. Maybe they just focused on other stuff and this is the casualty of that. It could get better. Right?
You've made some really interesting points. Now that you say it, it really doesn't feel like he has much of a goal. While Clawdeen is constantly doing her all to get their mom back, he's mostly busy adjusting to the world, but like you said, that's already Frankie's thing.
And I've always found it strange that he isn't more upset to be separated from everyone he knew in Beheme. He's in a stressful situation! So why don't we really see him struggle? His cheery demeanor is sweet, but it's hard to buy that he'd never have his moody moments with how harsh we're supposed to believe Beheme was, and him getting separated from his mother and presumably other people. Wouldn't he worry about them not knowing what happened to him? Why do we never see that?
Something that also strikes me as odd is very much him "just being there". Because it always feels that way, despite him being someone from another dimension! But that's kinda it...? Why doesn't he get to have traits that truly make him stand out? It's a shame really, I remember being rather intrigued when he was first introduced, but that excitement fizzled away. When I think about it, I can list some traits and whatnot, but he fades into the background compared to how other characters grab your attention.
And comparing Clawd/Draculaura to other ships, they did get some level of build up, not in terms of crushing on each other (I'm hoping the show will let us know why they like each other), but we have seen them interact before this several times. But we don't know why they're friends aside from "he's Clawdeen's brother so they're in each other's vicinity". (This is actually an issue I have in general though, us not getting to see how a lot of friendships we know to be fairly recent started.) I wish a lot of the scenes they had together didn't feel so awkward. Please just make them caring about each other believable.
I am hoping to grow more fond of Clawd and less annoyed with this ship, maybe it is just a consequence of other aspects being prioritised until now. I do know the writers are capable of better things.
I'd also like to use this opportunity to clarify: I don't hate Clawd. I just think he's boring, which is doing him a disservice because I know he has the potential to be much more.
There's more I could say, but this is getting quite long. Thank you for your input anon, I appreciate how you looked for reasons he feels off to some of us. It certainly helped me collect my thoughts a little better.
This was meant to be short but then it kinda got away from me lmao, enjoy the longpost
It gets lonely, living in the same old ruins day in and day out for who knows how long. Boring too. Still, Cleo stayed there, both because she didn't really have anywhere else to go and for the safety of herself and others, can't turn people to stone if there's no one around after all.
Not even the animals tend to come by anymore, not after the first few however many years ago got petrified on accident. Which is why they're so surprised to see a flash of orange from the corner of their eye one day while walking around, so used to not seeing anything new she almost didn't notice it. Still, when she does process that there's something there, it takes about 0.5 seconds to whirl around and stare at the small creature crouching down at one of the buttons they'd placed around the ruins for funsies one day.
It was a curious being, humanoid in form yet seemingly made of copper, completely focused on the button in front of it (her?) to the point of not even noticing cleo approach until they were right behind it and clearing their throat in a way she hoped was menacing and not at all sounding like she was desperate for interaction with another being
Pearl meanwhile, had just been messing around with a button in these funky ruins she found before getting absolutely jumpscared by a (very pretty) zombie-snake-lady thing who was twice her size and promptly jumping much higher in the air than she would ever admit aloud from fright.
Still, after the initial scare and some very awkward introductions (particularly since the snake lady seemed to have not exactly spoken with anyone for a while so she wasn't great at speaking at first), they ended up gelling together quite well. It helped that pearl was immune to the petrification on account of being a copper golem, and the interaction ended with a promise for pearl to come back with stuff to teach cleo about how the world has changed in their absence.
Overall, a very successful trip into the spooky ruins the villagers warned her not to go into!
She doesn't understand why people think the ruins are dangerous! They're perfectly safe, especially with Cleo protecting them.
So, Pearl wanders back there day after day. She'll bring interesting objects from her village. She'll tell Cleo about her friends. And her very important job, clearing up trash from around the village! They put buttons on all the bins, it makes her job so much more fun.
Cleo sits, listening and smiling. Pearl doesn't seem to mind Cleo not speaking too often. It works perfectly for them.
Many weeks later, as Cleo scrapes some of the rust from Pearl's joints, Pearl asks what's so dangerous in these ruins. Clearly something is, and Cleo must be really strong to fight it away for so long!
Cleo can't help but laugh. They point out, scratching across Pearl's scalp, that they're the dangerous thing in the clearing. The monster that petrifies everything they look at?
Pearl responds with a quiet, "Oh." Then quickly points out Cleo doesn't petrify her. Maybe they were meant to meet!
Cleo has long stopped believing in fate but, luck? Luck, maybe.
Say Tywin and Joanna had a daughter before Cersei and Jaime and Tywin focuses on that daughter becoming queen instead and she's the one who ends up married to Robert, who would Cersei marry in this scenario and how would she turn out with an older sister who becomes queen?
Hi there!
Unfortunately, I’m pretty rubbish with these Very Specific What-If questions.
The mere existence of an older sister would already have profound effects on how Cersei herself develops as a person, her relationship with Jaime, with her father, with her treatment as a girl (compared to Jaime)... everything.
She might be a very different person, for better or worse. A lot would depend on the character of this sister, and her own relationship with Tywin and her role as a Lannister daughter. It’s almost impossible to speculate, really.
Assuming, somehow everything plot-relevant still goes down the same way during the Rebellion, Cersei would marry whoever Tywin considered expedient for House Lannister at the time.
(Mostly just me looking at what Tywin’s been up to on that front in general.)
Here’s what he claims to have considered in the past for Jaime and Tyrion:
"I once hoped to marry your brother to Lysa Tully, but Aerys named Jaime to his Kingsguard before the arrangements were complete. When I suggested to Lord Hoster that Lysa might be wed to you instead, he replied that he wanted a whole man for his daughter."
So he wed her to Jon Arryn, who was old enough to be her grandfather. Tyrion was more inclined to be thankful than angry, considering what Lysa Arryn had become.
"When I offered you to Dorne I was told that the suggestion was an insult," Lord Tywin continued. "In later years I had similar answers from Yohn Royce and Leyton Hightower. I finally stooped so low as to suggest you might take the Florent girl Robert deflowered in his brother's wedding bed, but her father preferred to give her to one of his own household knights. (ASOS, Tyrion III)
We can’t know how honest Tywin is about any of this, because the offer toward Dorne was obviously meant as an insult he expected to be rejected, since they had come expecting Jaime the heir. The Tully match was very much serious, so he had intentions toward the Riverlands, and if the others are true, toward the Vale and the Reach as well. (Though I don’t buy the Florent girl story. Tywin would NEVER take that risk if there was still any chance Tyrion might inherit the Rock against Tywin’s will.)
Cersei is a touch older than Edmure Tully and Willas Tyrell but as sister to the queen and daughter to Tywin Lannister she would have been a highly desirable match for literally any House. What matters most, of course, is what would be useful to Tywin.
Looking at the Lannister matches that Tywin likely had a say in:
We have his brothers Tygett and Kevan who both married within the Westerlands (Marbrand and Swyft).
We have his Lannister nephews Lancel and Tyrek who both squired for Robert and married to gain control over other castles (Hayford in the crownlands and Darry at the Riverlands Crossroads), plus Willem and Martyn who were a squires presumably in the Westerlands, since both fought in Jaime’s army. (No information on plans for daughter Janei.)
We have Genna’s Frey-born sons who married Riverlanders (Darry) and westerlanders (Crakehall) respectively, or squired in the Westerlands. Tywin’s goal for Genna’s grandchildren by Jeyne Darry and her son Cleos also tie them to the Riverlands (inheriting Riverrun from Emmon Frey) and the westerlands (squiring at Ashemark).
Basically, Tywin was primarily shoring up a secure base in the Westerlands where he destroyed two enemy Houses and then built ties to the others through marriages or sending squires.
His doesn’t do much to exploit the ties Tytos built to the Riverlands through Genna, and mostly focuses specifically on Lannister descendents taking over the rulership of other castles (Hayford and Darry and Riverrun and arguably Winterfell) when the opportunity presents itself. It doesn’t always work out but that’s the tendency.
Which... doesn’t really help us with “What if”-Cersei, but helps suggest that he may have most strongly pushed for Edmure Tully or Willas Tyrell, who are both heirs to their Great Houses, placing Cersei’s kids in prime positions of influence over entire regions bordering the Westerlands. Andar Royce could have been an option, but perhaps more likely Baelor Hightower, son and heir to Leyton, depending on if he was still available at the time or already married.
But really, I am not nearly well versed enough in the intricacies of the individual regions and Houses to make good guesses here. I’m probably missing some brilliant option.
The Dark Academia dorm is mostly focusing on topics like the death, black magic, and the arts of a reaper.
They may seem as gothic but they turned out to be merely as friendly, calm, and a bit of a group of bookworms surfing around the library and searching for forgotten remainings of lost spirits at the Belladonna Graveyard,,, that’s what they mostly invest their time in as their studies.
Professor Decadence often likes to scare her pupils whenever they come into her classroom…. They first thought she was absent once they come in- until all the doors and windows suddenly got shut loudly behind them, leaving them with no escape from her huge, iconic jumpscares,,,- hahahahah!
She pretty much treats every pupil the same, a very serious woman that has only affection mostly for her studies,,,, Though, maybe she has a lil tiny warm spot for Grave Bouquet- as there may be times she cannot simply decline the scholar’s requests whenever she’s on her break.
While for other professors, she treats them either as her co-workers or…. Less than that.
*Cues Lady Decadence stepping on a surprised, distressed Emerald Dove with her heels mercilessly dhdhdhhdh* I swear, they do like each other in a friendly manner- just that their inside jokes can be quite sus,,,-
Ghost Evoker and Raven Vanguard would occasionally hang out with Emerald Dove- A funny professor they both find at times. Ghost Evoker would sometimes come to him for advices once in a while as Raven Vanguard gets to talk casually with the professor for just a bit from having the workaholic face all day-
If you see Papaver smoking- that’s not for him actually, it’s for his incense practices…. But either way some scholars do smoke as they’re on the age for that- since, like, they’re very old than you imagine…
Raven Vanguard is actually old friends with Emerald Dove, he may be a professor but definitely one of the youngest one that are the same age as Raven Vanguard.
Lady Decadence// Aren’t you too young to smoke?
Papaver// Look around and tell me that none of the students are below 20000 years old to be here,,,, Plus- *gestures with his smoking pipe at Emerald Dove, Aquarelle Cage, Oyster Jewel, & White Cotton* These people look too young to be professors…-
Emerald Dove// Excuse us??? We’re literally the same age as you???
Did I forgot to mention that only adults often attend this academy? Well, there’s also a children faction of 100-1000 years old./ih
Thorn Enchanter used to have 3 smart birds as his animal companions… Who can either be have as messengers, guiders, and helpers. But few years of practice made him figure out how to turn them into ghosts when they died on an electric wire accident… So now they help him to practice his exorcism against naughty spirits to trap inside his lamp.
He is good friends with Most of the Light Palette dorm members, especially Clear Violet. Even would once in a while visit to play with Lolli Shepherd’s cotton candy sheeps.
Bird of Prey Chapter Five: The Long Road Home
(taglist: @carry-on-my-wayward-gays, @bluiex, @devorakian-guilt, @teslapenguini, @majickth )
When Jimmy awoke, it wasn't white. It wasn't as quiet as it had been. Faintly, he could hear the little whispered murmurs of the void around them. He stood up slowly and cracked his back, fluffing out his wings and stretching a little to get his body back into motion. In the distance, he could make out two figures. A Watcher, purple eyes shimmering around their body, and a Listener, golden wings glowing dimly against the light of the void. Jimmy carefully approached them, and both looked over to him, welcoming him with broad smiles.
"Hey, there he is!" Grian laughed softly and clapped a hand against Jimmy's back lightly. "The man of the hour! You won, Tim!"
"I did?" Jimmy tilted his head. "We went out together, though.."
"He died a bit before you." Martyn explained. "Congrats, Jimmy.. you earned this."
Jimmy smiled a little bit, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah... n- no hard feelings, right you guys?"
"Of course not." Martyn shook his head. "Cleo was acting like a bitch anyways.. I needed that wakeup call."
"Are you kidding, Tim? I'm so proud of you." Grian smiled and yanked Jimmy into a hug, snorting as he heard his friend let out a squawk. "That was your moment.. and you owned it! And- don't worry. They got your message loud and clear. You're alright. I promise."
Jimmy slowly melted into the embrace and grinned, content to stay like that until he heard Martyn clap and clear his throat.
"So! What'cha got planned now, Jim?"
"I... I dunno..." He hadn't really given it much thought, now that he looked at it. He was more focused on the game, and on Tango. Not on what comes after.
Grian hummed in thought. "It's been a thousand years in Empires since the first season... no one will remember the Codfather, y'know. Well- Except Pix, maybe, but y'know. That's Pix for ya."
"Yeah..." Jimmy smiled. Going back to Empires sounded fun. And maybe he'd build a new ranch, something to dedicate to the one who showed him what freedom truly felt like.
Freedom. The word felt foreign now that he had it, in all honesty. But he couldn't be happier, he decided. This was freedom.
Freedom in going back to Empires, becoming a sheriff. A promotion from being just a plain rancher.
Tango would be so proud.. He found himself thinking.
Tango would be proud of him for more than that. He'd been actually standing up for himself, moreso than he used to. Even if half the time it fell on deaf ears. He was at least trying.
Often times he found himself thinking about his soulmate. He'd zone out in the middle of a work day, mentally back in the old ranch, Tango by his side. It almost physically ached sometimes.
"Sheriff?" Fwhip had caught him zoned out, waving a hand in front of his face. "What'cha thinkin' about?"
Jimmy couldn't lie to him. Not that it wasn't easy, he just felt this wasn't something he needed to lie about. "My soulmate..."
Fwhip looked up at Jimmy with almost a child-like(or maybe cat-like) curiosity. "Soulmate?" His eyes flickered towards the ring on Jimmy's left hand. "What's a soulmate?"
Jimmy paused at the question. He couldn’t help smiling as he leaned against the wall of the cave. "Well,, a soulmate.. at least from my experience, is the most wonderful person in the world..."
"I'm Jimmy,, real nice to meet you."
"Tango. You're kinda cute, yknow."
"Very funny."
"Sometimes the universe assigns you exactly who you needed."
"You paired me with Tango?"
"Yeah, I did. Saw you two eying each other up during Last Life."
"The person you needed the most in your life... they make you feel safe. And warm.. and loved, most of all. No matter what."
"Never love a canary... they're meant for the coalmines."
"I'll be your coalmine, then."
"He sounds great.." Fwhip broke the sheriff from his thoughts with a little tug to his vest. "Come on though- we got work to do!"
"Right- right-" Jimmy followed him quickly. And for a while, neither said a word. Until Fwhip looked up at him again.
"Do you think you'll ever see him again?"
Jimmy hadn't given it much thought. He'd like to see Tango again. He hoped it'd be possible eventually, maybe before the next death game.
Would Tango even recognize him? He hadn't changed a whole lot, he wanted to think. Blond hair, blue eyes, a blue bandana.. the only real differences were the sheriff hat, the badge, a bit of stubble at his chin and... of course.
The wings. He'd lost his wings in the journey over. Things hadn't started by the time he got to Empires, so he had time to stop and rest at a town for a bit. There, he learned the consequences of upsetting a rigid status quo.
Maybe it was a punishment from the Watchers.
He couldn't say for certain. He realized Fwhip still wanted an answer, clearing his throat and rubbing the back of his neck. "Uh.. right.. I- I hope so... I hope I can see him again.." He managed a little smile. "Maybe some day.."
He didn't expect it to be the day of the rift, the festival, after he'd been pushed around by practically everyone.
First, it was a laugh and teasing from Grian, hearing him yell "You're not even safe in your own server!". They laughed and hugged and exchanged playful jabs. And then he heard it.
"Is that my rancher?!"
His head whipped up to see who had called for him. And lo and behold.
He sprang forward into Tango's arms, the ice mage spinning him in delight as he cupped his face and kissed him. With all the sweet tenderness that had built up in the time they'd been gone.
He could hardly hear the jabs of those around them. All he could see was Tango.
His soulmate. His rancher.
He was home.
(A/N: hey all!!! glad to see how much you've been enjoying this fic, and now it's come to a close. It's been a fun mini project to work on! hey so i noticed you're a mcyt fan... ive been meaning to get into hermitcraft but there's just so much of it that idk where to start, do you have a recommendation for that?
hmm. it depends!
hermitcraft 8 is finished, and the shortest season of them all, so you can watch that if you'd like. you can also start from the very beginning although itll take you some time to catch up
there are lots of different creators on hermitcraft, and some people watch all of them, but you really, really don't have to.
i only actively watch grian so im making some assumptions about the hermits, but in general:
scar, gem, grian, joe, pearl, xisuma, cleo & bdubs to my knowledge tend to focus more on buildings
impulse, mumbo, tango are to my knowledge kind of a mix between redstone and building stuff
zed's doing his own awesome custom achievements thing
doc is definitely more redstone focused, doc does some absolutely crazy stuff so if youre looking to see someone capture an ender dragon and keep it in the overworld, go watch doc
i dont know enough about xb, ren, beef, hypno, iskall, stress, wels (by god i am really showing my lack of hc knowledge here) etho, false, cub, keralis or jevin to make commentaries on what they do, but most of the time hermits tend to do building stuff either way (altho i know etho and iskall are both redstoners)
if youd like you can just pick a hermit and jump off at their latest episode! there's a hermitcraft recap channel, and you can watch through their s9 recaps for everything that's happened so far if you really wanna know, but imo you dont need to know what's happened in the season thus far to just start watching at any hermit's video
you can also, of course, start at their first s9 video and work your way through those
hopefully this was at least slightly helpful lol
Look at all of these random background monsters who could have been canon Monster High characters. wasted opportunity. But Clawdeen is happy!
Tumblr media
Cleo is redeemed! (a little)
Tumblr media
"No Apologies" is a great song!
Tumblr media
Dracula has been busting his daughters balls about her grades this whole movie and when she tells him she does witchcraft he tells her "a Vampire doing witchcraft Is simply not done! so you must be the very best witch!" proving I don't think he really cares what Draculaura does with her un-life, as long as she puts her all into it.
Tumblr media
And that was the movie! Do I think they needed to float? no. but it was still a cute ending.
...wait this is a movie in 2022... which means! after credits scene!
Tumblr media
This movie seems pretty confident it's going to get a sequel and I hope it does. I want to see more Monsters! and I want my franchise to do well! But this scene implies that some person with coke nails wants to destroy Vampires and they need Draculaura to do so. so the next movie is going to be Draculaura focused!
Final Thoughts
This review took me 3 days to write, 114 screen shots taken & part of my sanity withered away. Thank you for coming with me on this journey. I am Jess, The admin of Life In The Monster Haus. I started this blog on June 25th 2013. 2 years after Monster High had already taken over my life, I love this franchise and I wanted to share that love with the world. Life in the Monster Haus's name came from my love of 3 things: Monster High, Lady Gaga's Haus of Gaga and Barbies Life in the Dream House. We are 1,500+ strong and counting! I am truly grateful and humbled to have so many of you following my ramblings about the franchise that means so much to me. I was in a dark place when Monster High found me and I feel like I owe them a lot.
I owe you a lot and because of this I feel it is my civic duty to give you guys the goods. I went through this movie with a fine toothed comb then took what I found and put it under a microscope. I have consumed every piece of media in Monster High's canon except for the books and what I found in this movie was shocking! it is a fairly faithful adaptation of the source material! Is it a perfect adaptation? no, it's not. there is a lot wrong with it. but OVER ALL? it's not bad, I don't hate it and it doesn't make my inner child sad like the reboot did. I'm very biased about the reboot, I openly mock it and it scarred me. I'm a fan of the OG series, the Webisodes, the diaries, the movies. I loved it all and I drank it all in like a fine wine. So now we have this new things that I am trying to be critical of with an undying love for G1 and a raw seething hatred that I have for G2. I went into this planning to give it a fair shot, I went in with an open mind and I had a good time.
I think the people who hate this movie on the basis it's live action, are children, both literally and metaphorically and I think the people who hate it on the grounds that it's different from the OG series are bitter grumpy old farts who don't know how to adapt and won't survive the winter and to the people who are "boycotting it" because "The director is racist"... grow TF up will ya? ... MOST directors in Hollywood are racist! does that make it okay? No! But if you start weeding out movies in Hollywood who AREN'T directed by a racist you're gonna be left with like, 5 movies. New Flash: racism is everywhere! it's raining from the sky, it's in your food, it's effing everywhere and We do not punish the entire cast & crew of this movie because the director did some awful shit. the make up and the costumes on this movie aren't perfect - but it's about on par with a Nickelodeon movie. The actors put their all into these performances and everyone looked like they were having a good time! All of them had to sit in make up for hours every day and MOST of them had to wear color contacts because of fantasy eye colors! do you have any idea how tedious and annoying that crap is? They endured all of that shite for us and most of them are kids or baby adults! Do not Boycott this movie, you won't hurt the director you'll hurt every single cast, crew and actor who needs the paycheck & for many of the actors it's the very beginning of their rising star, don't snuff it out.
This move was a perfectly serviceable adaptation. it's not bad, IS IT GOOD???... I'm gonna say yes, it is. I enjoyed it and I'm pretty critical of anything that's not from G1 but I feel like this movie is a happy compromise of what we liked about the OG run of Monster High and bringing some new fresh flavor to the brand. the best of both worlds. I had fun watching this and children will too.
One thing I don't like is I've been seeing reports of the live action actors and the voice actors for the CGI show being bullied, some to the point of them leaving social media and to that all I can add is, what TF is wrong with y'all!? Monster High was affiliated with 3 anti-bullying campaigns ( We Stop Hate, The Kind Campaign & LemonAID Warriors ) AND a campaign to protect LGBTQA+ youth (Mother Monster would be so disappointed). To borrow words from our own Frankie Stein "Did I just walk into the Monster Pre-school?" do y'all really think this kind of behavior is what the creators want? or what the OG creators want done in their name or on their behalf? Do you think ANY ONE wants this!? do you think bullying actors makes you a better fan!? most of these actors are kids, act like you got some sense!
You love Monster High!? then embody Monster High! I was a huge jerk before Monster High taught me kindness - but I can forget it real quick if I catch any of you bullying the actors or each other or anyone over something stupid and trite like "you don't like the direction the franchise is going" Go blow smoke up Mattel's ass if you take issue with the direction of the franchise, they can actually do something about it. The actors? can't and you can complain to corporate overlords, that's okay by me but leave the actors alone.
TL;DR: The movie is good please support the official release, Don't Boycott the movie because of the director, Be nice to the actors and each other.
Scarlet Pearl No Longer - 1k Words
Pearl uses the afterlife as a thinking space. This game was a tad strange for her, and now she's taking advantage of the sudden time and silence to run through all of that
A03 Link
Pearl always died late, so she was no stranger to spawning into a lively little afterlife. For the second time she wondered what the others, the ones who died early, got the luxury of experiencing. What things did they see, that players like her never would? Sometimes she wondered what it would be like to switch places with Jimmy, just once, and how much he would appreciate it. (She had a feeling it wouldn’t be much.)
BIgb greeted her with hugs and kind words, the exact greeting one would expect from the guy. Pearl doesn’t end up saying much, she just sits beside her ally quietly. Jimmy, Joel and Skizz are all to her other side, trying to drag BigB into an argument over something meaningless. Pearl casts them a few fond looks, but her gaze is mostly fixed on the forest blow, zoned out.
This game had been weird, not that game of death was in any way normal. The more she thought about it, the more realized it felt like Double Life. For her anyways, her brain seemed to be stuck almost a year in the past.
There had been moments, like when Martyn said he’d cremated her beloved Tilly, that Pearl had felt that very specific bloodlust again. The anger, the violence and the hatred that comes with her particular taste of insanity. That comes when you are scorned and rejected by everyone who’s supposed to love you, just for entering the nether a little early. Just for making your soulmate wait a few days longer than everyone else to find you. She knew that was from last time, because she’d felt it so strongly right before she won. And the fact that it hadn’t been present in Last Life, nothing like that had been there at all.
The point was, being the Scarlet Pearl had a very specific feel to it, one that she would know anywhere. Could anyone really blame her for using her afterlife to ponder? To wonder why it hadn’t left yet. Because it should’ve by now, things like that weren’t supposed to transfer between games.
So Pearl sat there, and thought over how she’d had those random spikes of bloodlust, how the whole “always watching” bit might’ve actually been more sinister than first intended. She thought of how even now, if she really focused, she could still feel the madness at the edge of her mind. Thankfully, it seemed to be getting weaker. Pearl would be glad when it was gone, because she didn't want to feel like that ever again.
She thinks about how Scott was the one to kill her, the look in his eyes, last game, how that one ended, and thinks it all awfully poetic in a way. Or like a perfectly tied ribbon on a present. She thinks Scott deserved that, after all the hell she put him through. They both still would freak out over the slightest cold, a side effect of all those powdered snow buckets. And Pearl felt bad, and had said sorry, but nothing quite brought closure like her most recent death.
Pearl thinks about that time she was gone for a whole session, a whole week, and wonders if that had anything to do with it. Well, she wasn’t really gone per say, she had just blacked out at one point and then came too again a full seven days later. The whole server had started asking her why she didn’t remember anything, and telling Pearl she did things that she definitely did not do. But she might’ve, because she had this weird amnesia thing. Or an amnesia cold, as Bdubs had called it.
Apparently she’d boogey killed Grian, and done a numerous amount of similar things as well. She’d also forgotten why she had two diamond hoes and that she’d given BigB one, which was the weirdest part. That was something Pearl knew for a fact that she would never forget, but maybe she should start to doubt that; because she apparently had. She hoped those hoes were doing well now, wherever they’d ended up after her and BigB’s deaths.
Cleo also had something similar, not remembering how she, Scar and Bdubs absolutely destroyed Etho and took many of his hours. And had kept calling him washed up, which was pretty funny, Pearl had to admit. That seemed to be related to her own amnesia and her own lingering insanity, because the latter had been noticeably lighter when she returned.
But pondering would get her no answers. Pearl wouldn’t be getting answers, because she didn’t know how ro go about it. Here some things didn’t have answers at all. Sometimes things were just weird, the world was just weird, people were just weird, and that's just how it was in these little games. That’s just how it works. And no one could do anything about it.
Pondering made her feel better though, it brought Pearl some comfort, so that’s what she did for a little while. She sat there, her friend's light argument in the background, missing her dog (thanks Martyn) and pondered.
Eventually Pearl will be dragged into the argument, which will dissolve into a play bout, a squabble even. And she will target Jimmy, and then Joel will target her, and they'll all end up play-fighting, plopped on the floor in a pile of limbs and laughing. And eventually, in what must be a few living world days, their other ghost friends will come back and greet her for the first time. They will greet the last three ghosts to arrive as well, and Pearl will watch as conversations are had, celebrations are as well and how people are ultimately forgiven.
She will bask in her silence until the game ends, pondering some more when she can. This afterlife will end sooner rather than later, and this round of life and death will be over. Pearl will be happy to know when they do, and she goes off back to her next adventure, her next world and life, the bloodlust is gone.
Season 3 recap was *chef's kiss* I was so giddy throughout the entire episode! You put so much love into the podcast and it really makes it feel like talking with a friend 💜
I thought about a few stuff that I think will be fun and interesting
- Sarah and jj's friendship. I am a huge cambank fan and obsess over any crumb we get. They have really good dynamics and I totally agree, we need more of them and more friendships in general
- I wonder if we will get to see Rose and Wheezie again
- they were very focused on fathers in the first 3 seasons do you think we'll get to hear more or even see a mother?
- now that Topper really has gone to the dark side he teams up with Rafe (and maybe Barry gets a bit jealous 😏 i dont think he really will but it's fun to think about)
-and Cleo, I wish we got to know Cleo more this season. So far she's been the tough one and like you said about seeing a scene mirroring the hottub scene with jj being there for kie, seeing another side of cleo would have been nice. We got a glimpse in the last episode but we need moreee
Thank you so much for doing this! I love listening to you talk about the boat show 🧡
ahhh thank you so much!!!! i'm so glad you enjoyed listening! ☺️
i'm so glad i'm nowhere near the only person who sees the potential in cambank, like literally everyone in the fandom is either obsessed with that dynamic or is at least interested in it. give the people what they want pates!!!!! i know they have someone lurking in the tags on social media so there's no way they haven't come across the edits about JJ and Sarah being so similar in so many ways. my only fear is that they've been scared off by the theories that they're actually siblings, which i personally never want to happen in the show, and it seems like the pates feel the same way since Maddie Cline keeps bringing it up in interviews. but they can so easily avoid the sibling thing and just write more scenes with them together!!! i really thought that season 3 would've been the perfect time since they were both struggling with being back in the obx and they literally both have a tendency to run from vulnerability and hurt people they love in the process like hello????? god i will forever believe that if JJ had been at his house in episode 6 when Sarah goes there, then she wouldn't have cheated with Topper and that's exactly why the pates refused to give it to us. they literally chose stopper over cambank and i'm disappointed but not surprised! sorry this was such a long rant out of nowhere aljdhjkahd but yes, more cambank in s4, i'm starting the petition now
speaking of Topper, i'm gonna move down to that bullet point real quick and just say that i actually think there might be some more potential for comedic moments if Topper seriously starts hanging out with Rafe and Barry like COULD YOU IMAGINE???? the dude couldn't handle the pogues, i think he'd shit his pants if he was in the same room as the local drug dealer. idk i think i said in the episode that i didn't want Topper joining forces with Rafe, but if he's very much on the sidelines and is made fun of by the writing the entire time, then i will absolutely take that. although i've said this before and i'll say it again, Topper continuing to even speak to Rafe, much less still being friends with him, after knowing everything that he's done is so transparent to me. his attitude toward him in season 2 was absolutely bizarre to me, and season 3 was even weirder, like does he really hate Sarah that much that he's gonna take advice from and be swayed by the person who tried to drown her?????? i know he was in a very emotionally vulnerable spot, but the fact that he doesn't put up much of a fight against Rafe when he's starting his spiel about Sarah just shows me that Topper has some underlying respect for him which is just so gross. but whatever, if the pates are actually gonna start committing to Topper not being the good guy that they tried to convince us that he was, then it finally makes sense for him to be able to excuse Rafe's bullshit and be buddy buddy with him again. maybe Topper will actually be a consistent character for once now that he's on the dark side! let's have him sulk in the corner while Rarry does their thing 🥰🥰
as for the other points, i'm gonna save those for the next podcast episode!! thanks so much for sending them in and for listening!!! 💕
Hermit High Volleyball Club
I might have written some notes on that Hermitcraft Haikyuu AU...
Ren - the club advisor and most of the member's English teacher, would advise drama club but they already had an advisor,
Doc - the coach, Ren's boyfriend, former Olympic level player, has three Olympic medals, "Stress's older brother actually...)
(numbers might change, all my volleyball knowledge comes from Haikyuu manga and anime which I haven't interacted with for ages )
#1 Xisuma - team captain, wing spiker, opposite hitter, an ocean of peace hiding a lot of sass and chaos
#2 Cub - vice-captain, Scar control, setter, will blackmail you into doing stuff for him, Scar is his only weakness,
#3 Scar - ace, wing spiker, opposite hitter, chaos causer, very loud, always somewhere near Cub
#4 Bdouble O. - libero, definitely average height, will get that growth spurt soon, 'shut up Keralis, it's coming,'
#5 Iskall - wing spiker, opposite hitter, second best spiker after Scar, just a lot less loud,
#6 Hypno - middle blocker, lanky bastard, (basically Tsukishima if you've seen anything Haikyuu)
#7 Impulse - middle blocker, will smack you if you act out of line,
#8 Etho - pinch server and backup setter, does not feel like putting a lot of effort in but is quite good at serving so Doc has him focusing on that
False & Stress - managers, secretly dating, have a bet going on who will figure it out first. Cub already knows but is waiting for the best moment to say it
Mumbo & Grian - in the club bcs clubs they actually wanted to join were full, Xisuma let them stay in the volleyball club after Scar asked him. Mumbo has a massive and obvious crush on Iskall who just happens to be dense as a rock. X instantly figured out Grian likes him but didn't say anything.
Track & Field squad:
Keralis - Bdouble's boyfriend, pick him up after practice since both clubs have a similar schedule - totally not on purpose on Ren's part
Tango - Impulse's boyfriend, could do well in volleyball but he likes running around more
Zedaph - Impulse and Tango's 'third-wheel', might have a small crush on Wels - the track team's star runner which his friends make fun of all the time
Wels - X's best friend, silent, diligent star student, very popular
Literature Club:
Jevin and XB - Hypno's boyfriends, often hang out around VBC's practice while waiting for him,
Pearl - Grian's twin sister, at the brink of shoving Grian and X into a closet
Gem - Pearl's best friend, might have a massive crush on her,
'Chess Club' (not really)
Joe and Cleo - only two members of the club, their advisor agreed to oversee the club to have an excuse to not oversee any actual club, study buddies with X and Wells. Cleo has a weird rivalry with Jevin
Art Club
Beef - Etho's boyfriend, sometimes waits for him during VBC's practice time
The club has a massive sponsorship from Giga Corp from day one pretty much because Ren talked at home about how he's overseeing a sports club now.
I might have considered making Cleo track club's advisor and Joe the principal but making them just bum around the school and be an after classes nuisance was more fun.
are there any hermits/and or/ 3rd life members your intending to keep out of this storie? spesificly do you have idea for our fave dog catcher?
mmmmm I’d say it’s less of an intention to keep them out of the story and more of a “who do we want to focus the story on?”
because while the au does pretty much involve hermitcraft, empires, and both the life series, it’s still very much an au focused on 3rd Life (mostly anyways)
scar, grian, and mumbo are our main characters, with the 3rd/LL crew all as our secondary characters. but their stories have all been woven together. other hermits/empires peeps mainly just make cameo appearances.
but yes, mr. hills works with cleo
