"I always felt that Obi-Wan would rather not fight Maul here. [He] would want to see change in Maul, he would want to see that Maul's grown as well. When it becomes apparent that Maul is not, that he's still evil and unwilling to let go of these things, Obi-Wan knows he's going to have to fight because he must protect those that need protecting. It's just his way." - Dave Filoni, Star Wars: Rebels, “Twin Suns” commentary, 2017

Miyamoto Musashi and Itō Ittōsai. (He became unrivaled through brute strength. He doesn’t understand anything about being invincible or the sword. He just thinks the last man standing wins and is strong enough to be the last man.)
Manga: Vagabond.

3/3 the Second Truth
Tumblr media
Part 10: The Warmth of the Past
After finished the slaughtering, he ran into the depth of forest. Akemi came out of nowhere in her attempt to avenge Seijuro’s death, failed, and ended her own life by jumping into the waterfall.
Matahachi brought Musashi to the temple where Takuan and Otsuu were serving. They brought the dying Musashi back to life. While observing Musashi’s recovery, Matahachi came to a better understatement about his relation with both Musashi and Otsuu. He was ashamed with his previous reunion with Musashi where he blindly jealous to Musashi and carelessly insulted Otsuu, forgetting his own sin to betrayed her. Otsuu overheard Matahachi explanation to unconscious Musashi that Otsuu was not used to get what she wants, even Otsuu herself wasn’t aware if that. Shameful that Musashi wasn’t able to get a better acknowledgement to her rather than a bummer like Matahachi.
Otsuu didn’t hold back to show all the compassion she had to Musashi.  even Musashi still foolishly not got it all.
Even as self-defence, the slaughter brought Musashi to be held as a captive in the Himeji Castle. On a regular visit, Takuan brought Musashi’s connectedness to heaven, although he had a great suffer no one could comprehend. To Musashi’s understanding, he experienced the heaven In his heart on some fight. He felt there was a depth in his centre that glowed and when the depth glowed, he couldn’t help but wanted to pray.
.
Part 10: Everyone Kept Their Longing to Yagyu
Succeeding on an attempt to escaped through some assassin who tried on him, Musashi headed to Yagyu’s place. Among all samurais which willed to wiped him, Musashi encountered Ito Ittosai. Little Musashi was longing to fight Ittosai, as he known as the unparalleled under the sun at that time. As a man full of rage, Ittosai passionately desired to beat Musashi. Seeing the bloodthirst that bad, Musashi tried so hard to gain composure and avoid battle towards him.
Defeated by Ito Ittosai, his consciousness wondered to see Yagyu. Yagyu reminded him the hidden answer he had all along with him, on how to became stronger. Yagyu left a request for Musashi: to smile more. At the same moment, Yagyu had passed away peacefully along with Otsuu’s flute blowing.
The content Musashi’s had ruined by Ittosai’s statement that Kojiro was stronger than Musashi.
.
Part 11: The First Time Bloodthirst Musashi Held a Newborn
Not totally recovered from his wound, Musashi lost his consciousness on his journey, and the only thing that crossed his mind was his longing for Otsuu. Dreamt to be saved by the warmth of Otsuu’s body, Musashi woke up to see an old woman hug him. She was a mother of so many kids, despite of her broke family condition.
The father of the house was a wood carver who didn’t sell a lot. The wooden statue of Buddha he made only sold occasionally, but despite the poverty he was still being a carver along with being a father passionately. Musashi introduced himself as Takezou to lay low and had a conversation with him. The father sensed Musashi’s rage and forbade him from helping him carving the Buddha statue. Musashi explained that he was on a journey to searching for the best way of sword, but the father discouraged him. “The only way to relinquish the swords is to give it up,” he said as if he saw through Musashi that he was still connected to his father’s hatred.
In the other place, Ueda’s spirit annoyed Otsuu to tell her that she was necessary to illuminate Musashi’s dark path. The spirit reminded her that she is the only one that Musashi distinguished as home. After all, home might feels like out of place for anyone and it might terrified Musashi, so he hindered it helplessly.
.
Part 12: Reborn, Again
Having a warm farewell with the family, Musashi continued his dangerous journey, since he was still haunted by samurais who willed to assassinate him. He ridiculously felt numb when stabbing his opponent and quickly drained his energy. He could differ his current form to his usual self. When accidentally fell down a cliff, he later was grounded to the earth and facing up the sky full of stars, reminiscing on how beautiful the feeling to be reunited with his initial form when he held into nothingness. Reborn once again, Musashi made a statement that he wanted to live with Otsuu someday.
.
Part 13: Iori and the Amazing Parenting
The liberating moment with himself brought him into a kid who tried to slicing his father’s corpse into parts. His father was a lousy warrior, but he was a decent human being and a compassionate father. Musashi helped him to bury the kid’s father properly. The kid’s name was Iori and he shared Musashi his food and gave him a shelter even though Iori was only living in a shack.
Following the loss he had, Iori cried while hugging the tree that he and his father once saw. Along the way, the tree became the memento of his father’s existence. Musashi felt the warmth radiating from Iori and his tree whenever he saw them.
The bound between Iori and Musashi came into acknowledging each other. Musashi who used to carry on the heavy feelings all by himself, was cheered up by Iori. Iori who still adjusted to the dead of his only parent was accompanied with Musashi. The acknowledgment brought the surge of his childhood sensation which he missed a lot.
.
Part 14: the Vulnerable Peerless
Seeing the barren field beside Iori’s shack, Musashi willed to turn it into paddy field. It seemed impossible however Musashi tried so hard to ploughed it, since the soil wasn’t originally used to plant anything. The rain even brought flood to the field and ruin Musashi’s sweat into vain. The obstacle brought Musashi into his desire to defeat the nature. However, it was absurd compared being a farmer and being a warrior.
Eccentric and stubborn human will attract each other, this explanation was the right way to describe the connection between Musashi and Shusaku. Shusaku insisted that Musashi won’t be able to take care of lives, as he was a warrior who only cared to put an end to lives in his whole life.
The locust swarm destroyed all of Shusaku’s crops and ensued the famine in the village. Despite of his personality, Shusaku was being the backbone of the village by taking care of the elders and breastfeeding mothers. Musashi became the villagers’ last resort. Musashi, with the help of some villagers, kept ploughing the field under Shusaku’s watch.
Musashi needed to understand it the hard way that beyond became strong and peerless, lied being alive first. Musashi learnt his desperation since the word “help” slipped away when he was observing the soil, but he denied it at first. Villagers started to starved to death one by one and Musashi himself arrived in his verge of death when he lost his power. Thereafter, Musashi came to his sense that he needed help, so he pleaded to a lord to shared some food.
As the crops successfully grow, Shusaku was aging and withered. Witnessing a honest smile as Musashi had was the final thing that Shusaku needed. At last, Shusaku was dead with contentment. With new acknowledgement of being strong, that it was meant to understanding the weak, Musashi left the village with Iori to serve a lord in Kokura.
 .
Part 15: the Rendezvous
As Musashi was heading there, Kojiro had hardly settled in Kokura as a trainer in a castle. This part was seemed to be the beginning of their final accomplishment.
