I'm suffering Fates Brain Rot so I drew OCs? Logical!

Nytis (blondie) is a demon cleric who hates feeling any form of pain but lives to cause others pain (he does indeed see the irony of becoming a cleric). In order to help protect himself he forms a pact with Elnae (red gal) and she basically fights in his place if there is a threat of injury. She also does little errands like info-getting and sneaking around for him.

The thing is, while he can hurt others no problem and it's satisfying, he was granted the ability to heal others after he swore allegiance to a deity he holds no respect nor regard for. He honestly doesn't care about whatever gods exist. HOWEVER. As a demon, simply using holy magic actually hurts him so he's a pretty stingy healer and has a sword "just in case" he has to fight.

That said, he does actually have one thing he refuses to let go unpunished: a kid being injured/cursed. He might be a messed up demon but he draws the lines at letting kids suffer. When El asks about it and is like "haha what, did you have a bad childhood too, buddy?" he's like "???? How else would I end up like this? As a cleric? Hurting myself to heal? What the hell is wrong with you YES I had a bad childhood."

#my characters #hes actually really mad when hes planning to be in a town for a day and then dip and he sees a kid in the markets #who looks like a zombie almost while still living and he realizes that someone CURSED THIS CHILD #and so he orders El to go dig up the dirt around town and he goes over and lifts the curse #its super painful on his end but seeing the life return to the kids eyes is like aight i can take it #and then he finds out the church of that town had some really shady dealings and they cursed the kid #and that the kid was supposed to die when they turn ten and hes like hey wtf lets go ruin the church el #and shes like are you.... are you declaring war..... on some church.... as a cleric.................. sir. what. #anyway they argue a lot and bicker and are secretly good friends #neither one will admit it tho #also shes super gay and is like you know if i didnt have a pact to serve i would love to travel and flirt with women thatd be nice #and nytis is like great thank you for the info now go do (thing) #i dont really draw them much but i really like them

this is a lighthearted little informational about parasomnias (disruptive sleep-related disorders) that happen when you're falling asleep/waking up. because some of the tags on my exploding head syndrome poll are blowing my mind. more than the ehs does. i am not a doctor i am just parasomnias georg.

hypnagogic/hypnapompic hallucinations are hallucinations that happen when you're falling asleep/waking up. they can be visual, tactile, or auditory. i most often experience auditory hallucinations, and i hear footsteps and indistinct voices. a lot of people hear someone calling their name. when i was little, i had tactile hallucinations that felt like someone was touching/holding my hand. 70% of people experience hypnic hallucinations at least once, plenty of people experience them regularly, and they're completely harmless and they're also not a warning sign that you have or will develop any mental illnesses that involve hallucinations/psychosis.

hypnic jerks are that falling sensation you get as you're falling asleep. we know this one. it's harmless.

exploding head syndrome (or episodic sensory cranial shocks, which doesn't sound any better) happens when you hear a very loud sound (banging, crashing, gunshots, etc) as you're falling asleep/waking up. some people also experience visual/sensory effects (flashing lights or a popping sensation) with it. they're uncommon but once again, completely harmless despite the whole "feels like brain exploded" thing. ive recently learned that a lot of people only hear a sound/see lights and don't have a corresponding popping sensation in their head, which i am jealous of.

ehs is not the same as hypnic hallucinations - hypnic hallucinations can absolutely be startling/scary, but they don't have a jumpscare factor. if you hear someone whisper your name and it kind of wakes you up, that's a hypnic hallucination. if you hear someone scream your name and it makes you startle awake kind of like you would with a hypnic jerk, that's ehs.

hypnic hallucinations, hypnic jerks, and ehs are all exacerbated by stress, a lack of sleep, and medication use. i 100% have them more often when i'm stressed/overtired, and fairly recently i managed to triple-threat myself by starting a new medication and had like ten instances of hypnic jerks/ehs in one night. but that's okay! the brain does weird things when you're stressed and tired, and it often continues to do weird things even when you're not stressed and/or tired just because that in-between sleep/wake state is a weird liminal zone for your brain and sometimes it sets off the wrong signals. they're not a sign of underlying mental or physical illnesses! of course talk to a doc if your symptoms are concerning or getting in the way of sleeping, but. yeah. it's all good!

#sleep paralysis is also a parasomnia that happens during this time its bc ur brain gets stuck in the REM stage where you're usually unable #to move + does weird fucked up emotional and hallucination things to you as a treat. fully possible to feel pain in this state ask me how #i know. but once again you're aight. talk to a doc if it happens a whole lot maybe tho idk treatment options #also some minor sleepwalking/confusional arousal (as in moving around not sexual) can happen during sleep/wake periods it does to me #specifically confusional arousal i'll partially or fully sit up not respond to anyone and then lay back down #i think i have experienced every single possible falling asleep/waking up parasomnia and i Will do so again. side eyes sleep paralysis #re: sleep paralysis. tactile hallucinatory pain. michael distortion paid me a visit and stabbed me. extremely funny in hindsight #wrote this in several bursts with code mistake by corpse/bmth on full blast apologies for any typos im also on double concerta rn

yes of course i will! @revalito and i are genuinely so elated that so many people like the au HEHJKSDHJKS i will always want to talk about it trust

i don't know if there was something specific you wanted me to talk about, so i'll just talk about their time in the cloud recesses when they were younger =]

as i said before in my tags, wwx found lwj sitting outside the gentian cottage waiting for his mom and that's how they first met--he brought him a blanket and something warm to drink and offered to sit next to him. after that wwx would find lwj every now and then and hang around a bit but not for long. that does.. imply that his parents died sooner but well. HEJDSJKSD we figured one of the servants was his dad's close friend that agreed to babysit wwx for a while before they died, so now at least wwx has someone that was considered family (and that can tell him about his parents)

wwx didn't actually start working as a servant until he got older and that's when he was really allowed to interact with lwj. silly little comments turned into prompts to speak more and eventually, they'd have "conversations" (lwj would listen, wwx would talk) as wwx did what he had to. one day lwj asked wwx if he would be allowed to be a personal assistant on a quick task he had to do outside of the cloud recesses, and of course that's allowed. and that's the loophole they found to spend more time together =]

lxc knows about lwj's crush. he could read it on him easily HEJKSDJK i'd like to think one time wwx was called in to serve something to them, and as he did he made some comment to lwj. lwj acknowledged him with a small uptick of his lips and lxc was just ⁉️⁉️⁉️ HEHKJDHJKDHDJK he starts making excuses for wwx to go see lwj. the first time he asks a servant to call for wwx bc he needed something delivered to his brother it started a rumor within the servants immediately. this is where the teasing among them began HEHJKSDJKSDK lxc is the main reason why eventually wwx is the main servant/one of the only servants for lwj

wwx starts learning about cultivation in his free time--and we'd like to think the gusulan sect would set aside a teacher for willing servants on their breaks--but he never attends any actual classes. it isn't until they accept guest disciples when they're around 15/16 that he even entertains the idea. he probably makes a side comment to lwj, like "ah, guest disciples… it would have been nice to attend a class or two.." and lwj is immediately like i'm on it. he talks to lqr to attend the classes and ofc here lan qiren doesn't Need lwj to be a good example to wwx like he does in the novel, but we think lqr would still want to show him off HEHJKSJKSD also, lxc is probably like "it would be nice if wangji had more friends =] perhaps if we have wwx in there (someone he is already comfortable with) he would be more willing?" and that seals the deal HEJKSDHJKSD wwx is invited to his classes to be a "personal servant" to keep up appearances, but he is there to learn.

of course some other people there aren't to keen on the idea of having a servant in the class with them, so this time when lqr calls on wwx, it's not to test him, it's to prove his worth. he knows wwx and lwj are friends so in his head, his justification is that disciples are offending wwx -> they're offending lwj -> lwj is his nephew -> they are offending lqr too. ofc. HEHJKDSJKSDK lwj defends wwx in his own ways.

nie huaisang is the first to go up to wwx to chat and they become good friends, and since wwx is friends with lwj, nhs becomes friends with him too. it's a funny dynamic but lwj inwardly thinks it's nice.

It’s a grainy video, and not long either, so it keeps looping in the player of his phone over and over again, not unlike the last moments Blaine spent with Kurt replay in his mind constantly.

Blaine’s been doing better—he thinks he’s been doing better—since starting medication. His therapist said it would be a few weeks before he felt the full effects of the medicine, but seeing one low resolution video on Kurt’s snapchat story has shot Blaine straight back to day one.

It looks like he’s at a party. Somewhere dimly lit and loud. He’d check Kurt’s snap map location, but the last time he’d done that, he’d caught a glimpse of Kurt’s bitmoji all the way down in New Orleans, probably having the time of his life while Blaine lay in the wreckage of him.

He’d clicked on it and accidentally swiped up, likely sending a notification that he was in the thread or typing. When Blaine tried to look at the map again a few days later, no sign of Kurt. Looking up his location was of course the quickest way to scare off someone who wanted to stay hidden.

What he wouldn’t give to be able to face Kurt and say, Come home. Come let me love you. Come love me again.

Blaine swipes out of Kurt’s story, deciding not to torture himself anymore. As he closes to the main menu of the app, it gives him a different notification. 

Memories from October, 2 Years Ago!

Blaine doesn’t have to open them. He remembers all too well. It was Halloween, and they’d dressed up as Sonny and Cher, which was an absolute hit at the yearly New Directions party.

It might not be Halloween anymore, but the ghost of Kurt still knows how to haunt the fuck out of Blaine.
