Sef:“soft asks to get to know people” 1. what song makes you feel better?

I have decided to use this soft asks thing as like one of those inktober challenges because I didn’t just wanna keep writing in note pads and drawing books and wanted to leave some of these kinds of thoughts as a digital footprint on the euphoric hellscape that is the world wide web- why not after all, if my dick pics are gonna be hoarded by meta then tumblr can have some of my thoughts and feelings

So to answer the first question “what song makes you feel better” is great because im a musician *Ding

I think whenever I’m feeling inadequate I always watch my “Get Away” (-Sef X Odyssey) music video. It was the first proper song I wrote that had a concept and core to it, its also one of the first beats I made that I was proud of, I didnt intend for that to marry up quite like that but it did and ultimately its ended up as the opener for the album that I’ve nearly finished: Hunger of the Blind

Theres a few other artists and songs I wanna mention tho- Nina Simones “Stars - Live At Casino Montreux, July 3rd 1976″ has always provided me with a comforting perspective that reminds me my life is mine to experience, regardless of what happens, what I want or where I go, I can decide how I feel as long as I tackle it all honestly. This live version specifically is so warm and comforting, it feels like the end of a story and could easily be the end of my story, but once its over my life still has more pages it would seem so I’m refreshed and reminded that I have options, and I have skills, and I have my mind and although life only promises suffering, theres an unfathomably large amount of goodness we can make of it.

I love beautiful sadness, so big shout out to Hurt, both Nine Inch Nails and Johnny Cashes versions have provided me a comfort when in my darkest hours. I do spend a lot of time alone, and when you’re going thru it sometimes the only comfort is music and these songs so hauntingly remind me of the forks in the road.

Ok well that should do it for here for now, big question to start off with, I hope the rest of the soft asks are good bc I havent rly looked at the list but I definitely wanna continue as of right now.

'Meet cute nasty.'

Hi! I'm back kinda? I'm just here to post this lil self insert story of me and Lester Sinclair from House of Wax. He doesn't get enough love and I wanna kiss him so much.

I may change the title, is Lester a Hick????? He can be if you don't think to hard about it. Idk how many chapters this'll be bc its just me writing lol. This also got up to almost 2k words so 😳😳

The vans brakes squeal as the girl presses down on them, Elizabeth Mayfield bounced back from the vans push. Her hair covers her face, It's filled with leaves, crystals and hair wraps on single strands.

"Oh shut it Chariot." She grumbles and smacks the steering wheel, putting the van in park as she looks around her surroundings.

Parked in a gas station parking lot, barely anybody around and the moon is high and bright,

"Good night for a reading huh?" She turns to ask the dog in the back of the van. Who raises his head from the mattress in the back, the mutt puts his head back down. Turning on the roof light as she walks,

"Move over, Mac." She grabs the cards from her bag. Pushing past the hanging crystals and dreamcatchers, she sits next to the dog.

She hums and closes her eyes as she shuffles the cards. Letting her mind empty itself, her breathing is in sync with the dogs. Setting the cards in a pile of four, she draws the first card. It tells her what's at hand, seven of cups. She raises a brow,

"Love?" She looks at her dog who sniffs her wrist covered in homemade bracelets, she smiles. Her face heating up,

"Love."

The second card speaks of the past and how it's changed her, six of cups reversed.

"Try to be easy going, I was and I am." She puts the card back in the stack and pulls the 3rd, this will offer her food for thought.

The high priestess shows,

"Act more on feelings than facts. Is what I'm doing not enough?" She gestures to her van, hinting at her traveling lifestyle.

"Is this what you're referencing to?" She lifts the seven of cups and places the two cards down together. Shaking her head she lifts the final card, which tells her a course of action she can take. The chariot arrives in her hand.

"Again, is what I'm doing not enough?" She says out loud,

"I named the van after this card. Come on give me a break." She says to no one but Mac listens.

"Should we go further?" She pets the mutt who leans into her hand,

"Maybe somewhere, where nobody will bother us." She mumbles and lays on the mattress,

"Maybe I can be a forest witch," she mumbles and closes her eyes, letting sleep take over.

Lester spits on the ground, he looks up at the bright moon as it shines through the woods. The music plays gently in the background,

He hums along with the tune of 'season of the witch.' And pats his thighs to the rhythm,

"Purdy night ain't it, Jonesy?" He asks the dog that sits on the back of the truck with him. She licks his face and he laughs.

The sun peeks through the back doors, waking the girl in the van. She hums and sits up, Mac is standing in front of her ready to go.

"Good idea." She says and takes him out to use the bathroom. When she puts Mac back in the van she tries to figure out where she is exactly.

She knows she's landed herself in Louisiana, but most of the state looks the same. So she heads in the gas station, In the traffic mirror hanging above the entrance she gets a glimpse of herself.

Elizabeth wears a long black slitted skirt, both sides are cut and her legs show when she walks. Her tank is wrinkled and her shawl is tempted to fall from her shoulders, she fixes it quickly and holds her side bag close.

"Can I help you?" The cashier, an older woman asks and Elizabeth blinks. Back in reality, she nods.

"Actually yes, two things. Where am I?" She asks and the woman points to the pamphlets nearby,

"Smallwood. Okay, and uh can I use your bathroom?"

"Gotta buy something first." The woman huffs and Elizabeth quickly searches for some travel food and drinks,

Her only source of income is tarot reading strangers and selling the jewelry she makes. Not a lot but enough if you make the prices almost criminal.

Grabbing some powdered donuts, quickly she pays for them and runs to the bathroom. Quickly she fixes herself up, putting on dark eyeliner only to smudge it and swiping on dark lip gloss. She smiles at her dark makeup, it simply makes her happy. Stepping out the bathroom quietly, in hopes of not gaining any attention she tries to leave silently.

But her eyes catch a drink, staring at the energy drink from the fridge. She looks up at the cashier who's glaring at her.

In a flash Elizabeth quickly snatches the drink and runs from the building, Mac barks from in the van and the woman hollers.

"Get back here you freak!" The cashier screams and Elizabeth laughs as she runs. The needed adrenaline pumping through her, slamming the van open she gets in.

Grabbing her keys, the van sputters and spits.

"Come on, Chariot! Come on!" Elizabeth yells as she turns the key, the van rumbles as the cashier starts to run towards it.

"Lets go!" Elizabeth yells as the van roars to life, slamming on the gas Mac is pushed back on the mattress and quickly the van escapes the parking lot with the screaming of its tires.

Elizabeth doesn't slow the van until she reaches a wooded area, trees tower over the colorful van as it fails to blend in. But they're miles from the gas station and coming down from the high speed.

"Cheers." Elizabeth raises the energy drink and Mac licks it, she laughs and opens it.

The drink sprays all over the girls face immediately upon opening. She spits out the blueberry flavor and Mac licks her face all over, laughing she pushes the dog back.

"I get it! That was well deserved karma!" She yells yells the universe,

Suddenly the van spits and sputters.

"Oh no." She whispers and the engine cuts itself off.

"No! Baby please!" She hollers and slams on the steering wheel,

"Is this my karma?" She whispers and leans into her sticky seat,

"I regret nothing." She says and sips her drink, Mac pants next to her. He breathes a disgusting smell.

The two sit as the girl finishes her drink, she cringes as the sticky feeling on her face.

"I can handle a lot of things," she starts, looking at Mac and then the bones she collects all scattered in the van.

"But I can't handle a facial." She laughs and gets out of the van, Mac jumps out with her and sniffs the new ground. Elizabeth grabs the water from the back she runs it over her face, washing away the substance. Once the feeling of soda was gone Elizabeth checks her face in the side mirror.

Her eyeliner was running, she shrugs.

"Tell me, Mac. How do I look?" She turns, expecting her dog.

"Mac?" She says and looks around, the dog stands in the distance. His head raised as he sniffs the area, Elizabeth cups her mouth and yells.

"Hey, Get back here!" Mac looks at her and quickly sprints away towards the scent.

Elizabeth groans and quickly runs after the speeding dog. But he's quickly lost in the weeds of Louisiana.

"Mac!" She calls out and hears no response, but a rotting smell hits her. She doesn't flinch, after willingly tearing through dead animals for a good bone. She's numb to the smell.

And now she knows where that damn dog is headed.

Stomping her way through the thickets, she tries to keep calm her fingers absent-mindedly fidgeting with her silver coin necklace.

"Well hey there buddy, where you come from?" Elizabeth hears a voice say and she follows it.

"Alright load up!" Lester says and opens the passenger door of the truck, Jonesy quickly hopes in the truck and sits down. Ready to ride. In the back is another deer carcass, along with a vulture he accidentally hit. Lester taps his hands against the wheel as the music plays, Johnny Cash sings Ring of Fire on the radio, the chorus sings and Lester joins.

"And it burns, burns burns! The ring of fire!" Lester sings off key and Jonesey howls with him.

"If I could, I'd be in a band, Jonesy." The dog licks Lester's face and he laughs,

"Ah you're right, my ugly mug don't belong on no stage. I'm happy right here." He kisses the dogs head and she barks.

Lester drives down the bumpy pathway that leads him to the roadkill pit, he always checks to see if any strays show. His heart is soft for animals without a home, he likes to gain their trust. Make them feel safe while also being independent.

"Think we'll find anything?" Lester asks and backs the truck up to face the pit. As the two leave the truck, Lester hears movement from the hole. Turning towards it he smiles when he sees a collared dog sniffing around the carcasses.

"Well hey there buddy, where you come from?"

The dog looks up, his mouth full of the meat.

"Oh come on you don't wanna be eating that old meat." Lester pats his thighs,

"I got some good eatin at my place if you wanna come with." Lester smiles and the dog stumbles his way through the pile, Jonesey sniffs the mutts face and licks it clean, the new dog pounces and the two quickly engage in play.

"Well ain't that sweet, already made a friend huh, Jonesy?"

Lester says, he lets the two play and opens the back of his truck. Tossing out the carcasses, he then opens the passenger door.

"Alright you two, let's get going!" Lester pats the door and Jonesy was quick to jump in.

The new dog stood in place and sat,

"Oh come on boy, don't be shy." Lester whistles,

"HEY!" Lester looks up, above the cliff he heard the voice.

"THAT'S MY DOG!" The person yells and Lester sees the stranger, the said dog barks at the voice.

A girl wearing dark flowy clothes, her face covered in runny makeup.

"Hey, watch out!" Lester calls out and suddenly the girl fell off the cliff.

Answering this ask part 2/2 FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN’ HEADCANONS (Technically its an AU bc of my headcanons but whatever) (We’ll be dealing a lot with voice ranges, so if you need info on that here’s a video you can watch) Keith (Boyfriend): Now while he beeps and boops and such, he can actually speak (THIS IS CONFIRMED BY THE DEVELOPER, BUT THAT DOES NOT MATTER RIGHT NOW). Because of his high-pitched bobeeps, he does have a high-pitched voice. His actual voice is deeper than the bobeeps but it isn’t like, Johnny Cash deep, or even John Legend deep (if we are comparing voices, he would prolly have the voice range of Bruno Mars and such). He can hit some low notes, but only in his voice range, which is why sometimes he has Pico with him - to hit low notes. His voice range is tenor-countertenor range. Pico: Because of the incident in elementary school, Pico always has a gun on him (obv) and has somewhat hightened perception. He doesn’t trust people easily, and it will take a while to gain his trust. Now relating back to the gun - he keeps away on his belt (hidden by his long shirt) and pulls it out whenever he needs it. At night, he keeps the gun right by his bed, and sleeps when he is 100% that his house is safe (paranoia - a side effect caused by his untreated schizophrenia. Some nights he’ll go without sleep because of that). Mental state aside, he has a relatively deep voice (demonstrated in the game - in comparison to Keith) and is in the baritone voice range. Tiffany (Girlfriend): (I have given her the headcanon name of Tiffany, btw) Tiffany is a demon, but doesn’t truly show it. Unlike her parents, who show themselves as pure demons, and don’t have an “alternate” identity (not a completely new person, just a different outer look), Tiffany can actually switch between when she shows she’s a demon and when she’s not (this is a result of a mutated demonic gene - it allows her to switch “forms,” if you will). She is slightly taller than Keith, but it doesn’t really show to the glancing eye (you really have to see them side-by-side to see the difference). Her voice is light and sweet, and she is in the mezzo soprano-soprano voice range. Skid and Pump: Best friends at heart, Skid and Pump are never seen without the other. They might be small, but they have big hearts. Skid is more of the oblivious and trouble-causing one, whereas Pump is the more logical, think-it-through-before-you-do-something person. They, surprisingly, have a great musical talent (shown in the game), but don’t have a real voice range, since they’re kids (Let’s make them 13, both) BONUS HEADCANON!!! : Pump has some developing “complex” feelings for Skid. Skid, being Skid, is completely unaware of this however. (is it a bad thing to ship them?? i mean, they’re not siblings... so there...) Lemon Demon/Monster “Lemony”: A science experiment gone wrong, Lemony was the subject (at the time just a normal lemon) of a potentially life-changing chemical that would make fruits and vegetables (and other crops) larger and longer-lasting. Unfortunately, the chemical had some miscalculated properties that ultimately caused the experiment to go up in flames. The chemical turned the lemon into a chaotic lemon demon, hence Lemony. It isn’t his real name; he was dubbed that name, but he stuck with it. He has the baritone-tenor voice range. Charles (Senpai): He wasn’t actually the fuckass he was as demonstrated in FNF, but rather an unpopular boy that had very few friends. One day, he came into contact with the Red Ori (the red ghost fella that you go against in week 6 i believe, for the song Thorns), and the Ori possessed him, telling Charles that possessing his body was only fair (Charles has a distant connection with Daddy Dearest and Mommy, and the Red Ori has a bitter connection with the two as well). Charles’s body was taken over, and his identity as the true Charles erased. “Charles’s” status as a nobody then changed after the Red Ori possessed him, turning him into the fuckass Senpai he is. ALSO!! this isn’t a headcanon but I am thinking on making an 1) alternate universe where Red Ori possesses and takes over Keith’s body instead of being defeated by Keith, and 2) an ask blog of some sort FOR FNF characters. **feel free to ask me about VOCALOID story lore or headcanon FNF lore**

She shares a lot of mannerisms with Rebecca and they’re way more similar than she’d like to admit

Birds FREAK her out seriously; she’ll deny that she’s afraid of them but she’ll cross the street to get away from them, also hates crowded places and deep water

Scary resting face and has a habit of just... eerily staring at people who are bothering her until they get spooked, but she's not actually that angry or grouchy, she's really just Vibing u know? she's not gonna correct anyone's impression though or they might start like... Talking to her :/

Loves any book/movie/show with a secret society or spy element and stories about a Hero and their Journey, also loves angsty philosophy books; her favorite movies are cheesy but feel-good (The Mummy, Pacific Rim, anything with big CGI monsters)

Doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth but would kill someone for strong coffee; if she’s really tired you can catch her drinking it cold straight from the pot with a straw

She’s been drawing since she was a kid- mainly works with charcoal and sometimes pastels. her sketchbooks are like her diaries and she’s never shown them to Anyone Ever

In her spare time, she still plays some guitar, draws, or reads; her library is extensive because she keeps every book she’s ever read or intends to read (it’s one of the few things she’ll drop real money on)

Very tactile person and fussy about textures, she prefers ultra soft blankets/pillows and her bed is basically a nest

Practical, efficient, frugal- she doesn’t necessarily find joy in cooking or anything but she can do it well enough, quick showers, uses cheap soap/shampoo, cuts her own hair

Her hands get super dry/chapped in the winter and it hurts very much :(

Never yells; when she gets angry she’s very cold & will Not hold back; every word is designed to hurt bc she’s purposefully poking at things she knows are sore spots

At the start of the books, she’s kind of... sleepwalking through life? like, she was in a not-great place mentally for most of her teens and didn’t really have a plan for the future but law enforcement was definitely not it? She isn’t feeling super passionate about what she’s doing and it kind of sucks to not have joy in purpose :( luckily that’s changing and is gonna be a significant part of her journey through the series!

Her apartment is cluttered but clean and she knows where everything is, if someone moved one of her things she would not be able to find it and it would bother her until she located it

She’s not stubborn exactly? Like she’ll concede an argument if it’s not super important to her and has no problem with losing or backing down in many cases; she’s pretty open minded in that respect, but if something is central to her values then she will Die before she backs down

On that note she’s overall a very logical person but when it comes down to it she'll follow her heart/first instinct

Does not care about rules or procedures At All, she'll follow them if it suits her end goal but otherwise... nope

Lowkey she… did not care about the reveal? it was a surprise but not her first priority in the moment- she kind of already thought UB was sketchy and didn’t trust them, so mainly she was pissed off that Rebecca had sent them to babysit her instead of actually help solve the murders

Speaking of Rebecca their relationship is kind of yikes. Kira isn’t exactly mad that Rebecca was gone so often, but she does think that she kind of forfeited her parenting rights and was annoyed that Rebecca was interfering with her life; first by getting her on the force and then by dropping UB on her. So now it’s Very Awkward between them because Kira doesn’t want to be like… mean but honestly what is there to say?? They’re trying but neither of them like to share personal information so it’s rough

On the subject of sharing, she just… genuinely doesn’t like to open up. Like, it doesn’t come naturally and in her mind it’s just… nobody else’s business what she’s feeling/what’s going on in her life

Genuinely does not realize that people care about her unless they openly tell her lmao... sad hours but at this point in the story she honestly doesnt think that any of UB cares abt her beyond their job besides the one she's dating :(

"Everyone should be allowed to feel things and rely on the support of the people around them, their emotions are Valid. not me though, this is my personal problem and as such its dumb so i have to get over it alone"

Her primary love language is acts of service, she wants the people she loves to have everything they might need; she’s Soft and really just wants snuggles but also she does not want to address it out loud

Her way of asking for affection is to just... stand/sit there and occasionally glance at the person... hovers like a sad ghost until she gets a hug... literally like 🥺👉👈 sjdhdkn Clown girl

She’s sarcastic and makes a lot of snarky comments, but generally she’s pretty honest unless she doesn’t want to talk about something (in which case she’ll brush it off and deflect or change subjects) which is why it annoys her so much when people are willfully dishonest or conniving

Pretty adaptable and capable of rolling with the punches but she generally dislikes surprises and being the center of attention

genuinely she's pretty chill! and a Huge enabler of chaos as well, like unless it's specifically bothering her she's gonna let it happen and mostly she thinks it's pretty funny to watch from the sidelines

in short she's basically like a feral cat who stares suspiciously at everyone from a distance until they successfully pspspsps their way into her heart and then she would die for them <3 but if she's mad she will make direct eye contact while shoving glasses off the counter

ahdgsksg ok last one i swear she Cannot Sit Properly, always has to be some flavor of lounging or leaning or sitting twisted into a pretzel

as quick as love alarm was progressing compared to other dramas i’ve seen (usually wait ten eps for the first kiss and that’s it) it still seemed,, idk important for the story? n e way.

meteor garden is insanely messy like in the final episode daoming si just mentions everything dong shancai did that makes her so amazing and i honestly forgot they even did some of their things 😳 at one point they went to london and filmed in china town and i was just like ‘oh. i know that place’ and didn’t clock after that 😭

I GOT PEN ON THE BACK OF IT IM SO MAD AT MYSELF ✋✋✋✋✋ but come find me anyway lmao i got a changbin & minho film strip 🤪 can’t have anything nice around here and i learned my lesson the hard way.

i went through a phase when whenever i watched english tv i was like ‘why does this make sense without subs..’ and would be like squinting at the screen until it occurred to me that it was in english.

oh bruh i remember making a bank account the second summer bc my employer was like why tf do you not have a bank account ,, yeesh people had been paying by card for meals and stuff and not cash like the year before. so i made one and then she paid me in cash bc people started paying w cash 😐😑😐😑 i waitress so even though i get anxious about other things, i’m comfortable about waitressing so i am super nice to everyone. i am the designated person who orders for everyone (as long as you point at what you want in case i can’t remember everything i will say it). i know how important it is to be articulated to your server bc if they f up you get mad and they get mad bc ur mad and the chef gets mad bc the server f-ed up and the chef has to cook again and it’s a never ending circle of wishing you’d just gone somewhere else and i hate that. i also get mad at my fam when we go out bc the last time we went out (literally like two years ago now bc covid) there was a guy serving at this place we’re fairly frequent at and i was like maybe he’s training don’t be so mad at him for forgetting things just gently remind him! don’t cuss him out behind his back! there’s so much pressure about not pissing off your colleagues bc there’s a groove they’ve got and you’re just there not wanting to ruin it whilst also meeting customers needs!!

ive been waiting to pass my drivers test for over a year now bc covid has pushed it back and back and back again 😐 i finally get my next test date and i have to ask a different instructor for their car bc my instructor is on annual leave when my test is scheduled. i’m holding it together so i can ask an instructor, buy a car and yeet. the bus is okay but i need my own space sometimes.

okay, let's hope this makes sense bc i have lots of feelings, but like, in spanish. (and i never thought about how difficult it is to describe music in english??? when i barely know anything???). hannah's voice is so so good. i love how every song compliments it perfectly and makes you /feel/ everything even more. and like as much as i love the music in bp, to me what makes the song is how distinctive hannah's voice is and the way (1/4) (i'm sorry if you get it twice, my internet is the worst)

her phrasing drives the melody, even when the drums kick in the most important thing is still her voice. i think niall could do so much with a full band, bc one of my favorite things about him is the way he changes things enough when he does covers so it seems like that's his song but at the same time it still feels respectful? to the original. but honestly, the lyrics are why i think that song would be perfect for him, it doesn't matter if acoustic or with his band or even with, idk, (2/4)

an orchestra. he's just so interesting to me musically, and always manages to suprise me so!!!!1 whatever he does, i'd love it, i'm sure. at this point i just reeeeally want a super sad song from him, i have a list of songs that make me cry that i think would be perfect for him, tbh. (3/4)

also yes!!!!!! he can do so much with his voice!!! and his harmonies are always so nice and so right. he's already so used tosinging with other guys, i would love to hear him duet with a girl more than anything. (4/4) i think the first one didn't send? so i'll send it again

omg i struggle to articulate what i’m thinking in english and that’s the only language i’ve got going for me, i think yours is brilliant!! YES, she’s definitely got such a rich voice; it reminds me of christine mcvie’s a lot in that sense!! and the way the music and the vocals go hand in hand. ‘on the loose’ is a good example of that, as well, in a different way; he stops playing guitar to sing the verses, so it’s like the music itself sort of holds its breath to hear better. it’s such a cool thing when artists nail that dynamic.

i can’t even say how excited i was when niall got the full band going for him, not to mention how great the fellas in the band seem to be so far. the rhythm section in 1d drove me crazy, so it’s soo nice now to have such a good mix, a bass you can hear and a nice big full drum sound. i was listening to one of niall’s interviews today, and he was asked was he nervous to go out and play ‘on the loose’ for the first time at wango tango? and his answer was no, he’s only nervous when they’ve not rehearsed enough.

it’s still early days, of course - four songs - but i think those rehearsals must’ve been really good for learning how to play together and how to play the songs well. we talk about niall improving all the time but i think it’s something everybody’s benefitted by! cuz i agree that the ‘scared to be lonely’ cover sounds like more than some fellas who are figuring out how the song is made, which a great cover really does, you know? like, johnny cash’s ‘hurt’ is so not the same thing as trent reznor’s, even if it’s the same song.

i think the billboard article said ‘flicker’ is going to be a sad number?? either way, i can’t wait for a good sad song as well. strangely you know i think the best joyful songs have a little sadness in them, and that the best sad songs have a little tragic joy, and there’s that particular quality in niall’s voice that i think works well, do u know what i mean?

probably my favorite duet ever is the one between jeff buckley and elizabeth fraser, ‘all flowers in time bend towards the sun,’ and if niall ever did anything in that vein...you’ll have to scrape me off the surface of the moon
