Why is it my luck when my favorite VegasPete fics always end up containing one of my few notps in this fandom?

Seriously, why???

And this one was out of the blue and previous untagged as well but thankfully, I stopped reading just before it happens I guess and now I won't bother finishing that fic. The only thing that could have made it 'better' is if they wrote my only other notp in this fandom out of thin air as well.

I guess I will really have to start writing my own fanfics even more, can't trust anyone to at least tag all involved ships from the start ._.

Yes, I dislike both ships that much.

There's a reason I have them muted here and why I ensure my AO3 filter excludes any fanfics containing either ships. I'm so tired but well, Im glad I caught in time or otherwise I may have gotten 'surprised' with chapter 5 🙄

an angle i enjoy in cosmic/eldritch horror is when, instead resorting to the old classic "the horrors being so incomprehensible that they break your brain and drive you mad" cliché, the premise is that in comprehending the horrors you are so changed by the experience that your new state is indistinguishable to an outside observer from madness. you comprehend the unknowable just fine, but actually communicating that to anyone else is impossible because they just don't have the mental framework required to understand it. the eldritch horrors don't drive you mad. what does is the ordinary everyday horror of finding yourself isolated, ridiculed and doubted at every turn, no matter how hard you try to make yourself heard and understood.
