n each of the sixteen personality types has a dominant, auxiliary, tertiary, and inferior function

e.g. im an intp, so my cognitive functions are like this:

sometimes people get mixed up w the orders or what shows the most, so similar types get mixed up bc they have the same functions in different orders. for example, the most similar type to mine is entp, and the entp cognitive functions are like this:

is it weird that I don't get gender dysphoria... nor euphoria? like, I'm not excited when someone calls me by my current name, it just feels like they're doing the bare minimum, and that they're taking me away from my past (which is good dw). it feels like either: 1. i kinda relate tbh!! i dont feel much gender euphoria nor dysphoria, but i know im not cis. im just.. something. a being that is genderful (lmao) and genderless at the same time, though our experiences differ a lot apart from that.

obviously, to each their own. everyone has different gender experiences, theres nothing wrong with wanting to go to majority cis spaces. that itself can be characterized as a form of gender euphoria, methinks.

the problem may be that trans spaces focus on transness. now im not sure what gender identity you prefer; you dont have a pinned post, but imo theres nothing wrong with being trans and just not feeling trans at the same time, iygwim

trans spaces exist due to oppresion. some trans people might not feel "trans" in way. just some person who differs from the gender they were born as. despite that being what trans is, its totally respectable!

someone asked about the energon harp a little while ago & you mentioned the glass harp being an inspiration for it. i suddenly had an Insane Brain Moment where i remembered the existence of an awesome instrument called the glass harmonica (or glass armonica, i believe it's called both!) and while i'm not sure if it fits that "richer" sound you described, since it's not that different sounding from the glass harp (as it's its succesor & the playing principles are the same with the water and glass and everything), i think it's another thing i personally was imagining while reading TEG :)

it's also the sort of sound i imagine the resonances of the crystals having, that ethereal, echoing (lol) & almost haunting sound. especially the way the chords played are either beautifully harmonious or off-puttingly dissonant depending on the notes played. at one point i think the cameraman mentions about it being hard to listen to when not played correctly, and that to me is how i imagine the unpure crystals to sound - some harmony with a scratchy, unsatisfying underlayer of discordance mixed in there.

i have this tendency to link everything i possibly can to my interests, so rewatching this video and hearing again about the fragility of it made me have another brain moment and i somehow managed to link that to the way soundwave's crystals shatter. bit more of an abstract link but a link nonetheless xD i suppose the thought process does make sense though

how do you imagine soundwave's visor transforming away from his face? i can't remember if you go into detail in the fic about it. i think when i first read it i imagined an iron man mask -like transformation with part of it going up over the top of his head? but i'm not sure whether that makes like, any sense with how cybertronians typically transform LOL

and another thing- im autistic and the way you write soundwave sometimes reminds me a LOT of myself, both through the way he expresses himself and also the way hes treated by the lost light crew. there's a scene at/near the beginning of when the crystal club is formed (? i can't remember the exact chapter or point in the plot) where soundwave sees that his great work has the potential to finally be worked on and he's so giddy and elated and laughing and his tentacles are rolling through the air and laserbeak is spinning around and !!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAH idk that reminded me so so much of myself. like that was stimming if i've ever seen it xD

i don't know if you're neurodivergent as well & the way he's written is deliberately allegory for that but it was really fun to relate to him in that way, even if it wasn't intentional. there's a ton of other things soundwave does that to me read as autistic traits & experiences and i think that's awesome

I hope you enjoy the story. it's not perfect, but it is fantastic. it was the first time I saw character arcs in action and understood them to be so. previous to reading MTMTE, I never cared about characters in the books I read. sure, a character who is a villain BECAUSE they’re neurodivergent is vilifying and ableist. usually the shows/books/movies who follow this trope add a layer of stigma to a group that is already stigmatised — im thinking of the movie split and what a harmful (and incorrect) message that spread about people with dissociative identity disorder. there are loads of pieces of media out there where those characters exist, and it’s only in the last ten or so years we’ve started (slowly) moving away from them, imo.

HOWEVER, there is a difference between a character who is evil BECAUSE OF their neurodivergency, and a character who is evil AND neurodivergent. at that point, the two ‘traits’ (evil + neurodivergent) aren’t codependent on each other, and instead exist outside of each other. the character doesn’t do evil things because they’re neurodivergent: they do things for other reasons, and their neurodivergency affects them. they’re not linked.

the thing i dislike about the “evil characters can’t be neurodivergent” protest is that it sets neurodivergent people up to an impossible standard. it says “neurodivergent people cannot possibly be evil or bad” and plays into the “innocent + pure good” trope of neurodivergency that verges on infantilising. neurodivergent people who do bad things exist ,, neurodivergent people who do good things exist. neurodivergence isn’t what makes someone good or evil and claiming nd evil characters are vilifying neurodiversity isn’t looking at the bigger picture — or real life.

c!dream, for example, has adhd. his actor does, the character is playing by the actor, it’s an understandable headcanon and it makes sense. c!dream also does horrible, terrible things. he didn’t abuse c!tommy in exile because he has adhd 💀 sure, looking at his actions through a lens of having adhd is a valid lens to have — his character has adhd, so of course it’s going to affect him and his line of thought / his actions etc — but his adhd doesn’t ,, mean he’s evil ?? and headcanoning that he (an ‘evil’ character) has adhd doesn’t mean calling adhd evil ?

honestly, the problem for me is really viewing people + characters as black-and-white good or evil, which leads ppl to see c!dream having adhd = vilification of neurodivergency. because a BAD character can’t have neurodivergency, he’s BAD, that implies everything about him is BAD!! like the moment u start claiming c!dream being neurodivergent means neurodivergency is vilified, say goodbye to blond haired people: they’re also vilified!! and people whose name starts with d!! and green eyed people!!

like at the end of the day headcanoning a character as nd isn’t trying to excuse or justify bad actions they do. but it offers perspective into their character, allows more depth for a character, and also negates the slowly growing social media purity culture that says “nd people can’t do anything wrong”

(tldr saying a character is evil BECAUSE they’re nd or mentally ill is weirdchamp but saying a character is evil AND nd should be normalised. nd is just another adjective to describe someone at the end of the day)

Why do you hate people calling dhmis a time loop?

I always saw it as an easy way to describe what we know happens: it is always either June 19th or 20th, and any changes made the previous day are undone, including death, injuries, and new memories.

hi i just wanna say that i don’t actually HATE anyone that believes this, sure it makes me angry, but theres nothing wrong with it! believe what you want! my opinions are not law, but i would like to explain why this theory makes no sense to me as someone with a hyperfix (and maybe special interest) on this show and series as a whole

the reason i personally hate this theory is because it literally doesnt make any sense if you think about it for more than a second. its an easy-way-out explanation if that makes sense. ive rewatched both the show and the webseries and i can say firmly that neither of them work as a time loop. ESPECIALLY the tv series, because they have specific holidays on specific days (like computer day) and even mention “tomorrow” in the same episode. if every day was the same day colin would be there every day for computer day, but hes not. in the death episode its mentioned that the news papers change every day. in the very first episode of the tv series the first thing the main three mention is that they stayed up all night talking. that wouldn’t work in a time loop. not to mention how time loops imply the same thing over and over. since when is anything in dhmis the EXACT same? similar format does not count. time loops are very specific, and work in a very specific way, the fact people have thought dhmis is a time loop for this long is genuinely surprising to me. like it just makes no sense?? the only thing that even remotely suggests this is the calendar and the calendar is JUST A CALENDAR. the calendar itself is just a prop, and june 19th/20th is just a placeholder date to keep things mysterious. sure its mentioned often and might be important but only in a metaphoric way. in a LITERAL sense the calendar never actually mattered, its a shame people still think it does.

and no, nothing in dont hug me im scared is undone. deaths are not undone, the puppets are simply replaced. everything still happened, its simply forgotten by the main three and cleaned up by lesley. even with the original series the main three remember the days and songs before. duck hasnt done this in the tv series but in the webseries and in a qna with the characters he freaks out when time is mentioned, and red guy catches on when someone references the computer episode. nothing in this world is re-set, only forgotten and cleaned up with hints left behind.

i like to think of it less literally. i like to think that the reason the date is the same is because despite the fact that time is moving forward, these characters are never moving with it. time goes on but they do not. their memories are deteriorating behind them and the world refuses to let them change as people. so it might not really be june at all, but to the characters nothing has changed. so the date is more symbolic to me, more metaphorical. this is only my belief tho, theres many interpretations, but i feel like the time loop theory is such an overrated interpretation yaknow?

i think. hmm shed be huge friends with izutsumi since at the end of the series they're both sort of half another creatures and i think they'd go on great adventures that could be as simple as lets go catch a fish or maybe falin would drag izutsumi to go attend errands with her. they both have similar mindsets of going with the flow but in two different directions so it would be intersting to see them interact as friends since izutsumi is in desperate need of disciple and self control whereas falin wants to learn what she wants.

every time we have our yearly evaluations my boss basically just calls me out on my undiagnosed autism lmao its never like mean or anything, but here are some of my autistic work experiences that she has commented on over my 2 years of work there:

-im "hard to read" (i dont emote well)

-my brain "doesn't work the same way as everyone else" (said very affectionately, i promise, and this got me out of taking a test)

-she just gives me fidget toys all the time

-i had to watch a training video on accommodating neurodivergent people and i sat there with my hands over my headphones because there were 3 separate conversations going on in my vicinity AND my video

-im like the only one she checks on during busy events to make sure im not overwhelmed

-im really good at repetitive tasks

-she likes when i info dump lol

Ok so im a bit sleepy rn but i just realised smth. Im very stereotypically autistic (i do unfortunately love math and science 😭😭) and ppl will acknowledge it by jokingly calling me autistic. And yet if i bring up the fact that i am actually autistic they deny it?? Im weird up until then, but suddenly they say im too normal. I think its just bc they dont realise its a real diagnosis and not a synonym for "annoying". And they get a pass on making kinda rude jokes abt it but if u actually are autistic then they realise that its bordering on bullying. Also bc they get uncomfortable around ppl with any sort of neurodivergency or disability lmao (also im not a white guy so how can i possibly be autistic 🤪)

this is actually such a common occurrence with autistics that aren't cishet white boys that it's crazy like bro even my parents do this shit to me 😭😭 i told my mom my therapist told me im probably autistic (on top of many autistic friends saying the same) and she was like "no you're normal!" as if she doesn't still go on and on about how difficult i was to raise bc im such a picky eater and do things in such a particular way and i always rewatched the same movies and i was always too blunt and i didn't cry when i was supposed to and i would lose my shit if she moved my stuff from where i expected it to be and on and on and on like girl. hello????? also numerous irls calling me weird and saying my social skills are bad and hating how intense i was about interests of mine but then not wanting to think about there probably being a reason for it bc me being a fucking weirdo that they can make fun of just for being a fucking weirdo is easier to deal with. it's rly just like they can't justify bullying someone for being autistic when they know they're autistic but they want to soooo badly :( poor them
