WIP Wednesday!

Folks! I was tagged by the wonderful @greypetrel last week!! I didn’t have much to show then, but I do now!!

Updates on that Solas sketch I teased a while back! I just slapped some colors on this thing and I’m not the most happy with them right now, but I never am to start with lmao. It’ll get better as I goooo

Aaannndd here’s the sketchiest sketchy sketch that you ever did see that I just started working on. This one is mostly just an excuse to paint foliage and fun lighting (all those scribbles will be plants soon, I promise)

this very well may be premature, and I would love to be proven wrong by the upcoming episodes, but my most honest opinion? This adaptation is shaking out to be perfectly fine. It's good. I wouldn't call it great. Its actors of a lifetime being wasted on an extremely sanitized, watered down version of the Lightning Thief. They've cut out too much of the absurdity and silliness, as well as anything that's too scary or foreboding or violent. It's mostly faithful to the source material, and has some standout moments, but as of now, it's been a largely low-energy and low-stakes portrayal of a story that is high-energy and high stakes

#if the show didn't have the actors it did... I would be calling it bland #its fine #like are we only three episodes in? yeah #but I think we've seen enough to establish how the writers/directors are handling the story #which is just sanitizing the ever living hell out of it #again I would love to be proven wrong in the upcoming episodes #but :/#my hopes aren't high #pjo show crit
