Word count: 1.4k
Pairing: OPLA!Sanji x F!Reader.
A/N: I have a new obsession and I need to write more and more. I watched the series in one day and now I'm racing against time to catch up with the anime (and soon move on to the manga). It has not been proofread so I apologize for possible errors.
Part 2 here
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sanji was starting to get stressed.
Despite the short time he had been part of the crew, he already knew where he belonged: the kitchen. He could spend hours there and felt comfortable. But something bothered him. Every morning, some fruit always appeared cut, food scraps in the trash, his knives disorganized. He wouldn't look for trouble right away, but he was aware of every move.
Your steps dragged to the kitchen, after another bad night's sleep. The dark circles under his eyes were visible from afar, as was his bad mood.
"Good morning madame! Glad you joined us today for coffee." Sanji caught your attention, placing your plate in front of you.
"Good morning sunshine, your mood seems to brighten the day." Zoro teased you, only earning an eye roll.
You stared at the food in front of you. They looked appetizing, but hunger seemed to be nowhere in your body. You rolled them from one side to the other, without removing any pieces, while heard the others talking in the distance.
"Everything is fine?" The cook's voice caught your attention, a quick glance was enough to realize that the others had already eaten their meals. "Sorry to say ma'am, but you look tired."
"It's okay Ji. I'm just discouraged." You stand up, handing the plate back to him. "They look delicious, but I'm out of food, I'm sorry."
"Nothing to apologize for, my sweet. I heard that if you eat with a full stomach, or in your case without hunger, you can't enjoy the food and the last thing I want is for you to not like one of my dishes ." He leaned on the table, watching you.
"That's impossible. I could eat anything you make, as long as it's you making it."
It had been a while since the two of you exchanged small gestures, small flirtations. Unlike most other women, you weren't bothered by what he said. You felt seen, admired like never before, even though you knew he would say that to a thousand others. Plus, it was fun to see him shy with your answers.
"So... What can I do special for you today. Choose and I'll do it."
"Surprise me!"
You left it in the kitchen and if you looked back, you could see it lost in your image. None of the other beauties would be like that beauty, her beauty. Even though he was still lost, Sanji tried to regain his thoughts, thinking about the perfect lunch.
You got caught up in the tasks on the boat, all to keep the tiredness out of your body. Despite having heard the call for lunch you decided to postpone it, as well as dinner.
When you returned to bathe, you could see that everyone had retired to their rooms. Even with the most comfortable clothes, the coziest sheet and the cool sea breeze coming through the window, it only took a few minutes of sleep for you to wake up sweating, scared.
You were tired of it would be another wasted night. You got up and went towards the kitchen, since sleep didn't decide to appear that night, hunger had already taken its place and a salad would go well at that moment.
You gathered some radishes to cut and a few slices later, you felt the knife against your skin and was scared.
"So you're the cook for the night!" Sanji spoke suddenly.
Before you could curse him for his fright you had to hold back a scream due to the inconvenience of the pain.
"Shit, let me see." in a matter of seconds, he was already in front of you , holding your injured hand.
"It was nothing, you can rest."
"That, young lady, I will decide later." he gently placed a cloth in your hand, pressing it. "What are you doing up at this hour?"
"I couldn't sleep, I decided to prepare something."
"Honey, what's been going on?" He took your hand again, removing the cloth. "Okay, I have the solution to mine and your problem."
He took you by the hand to the bench, placing you in a sitting position, returned to the kitchen, placing a small container to heat and disappeared from sight for a few seconds, returning with a small box in his hands. It brought everything in front of you, allowing you to see what it was really about. A small box with bandage and a small plate with lasagna.
"I saved it from lunch for you, I think you'll like it."
"You know you're my favorite. Shit!" you immediately regretted trying to use your injured hand to eat.
"Now, we'll fix this." The cut was small but uncomfortable and felt a little deep.
You watched him bend down to your height and tend to the small wound like something precious while you ate. The silence between you didn't last long, against your will.
"When are you going to tell me what's been going on? You know, we're friends." Sanji charged, finishing applying the last strip. "Something is wrong with you and I can't figure it out. Besides, you've been destroying my onions in your nightly escapes."
"I'm having some trouble sleeping..." you tried to leave the explanation superficial, but the look in his eyes made it very clear that he wouldn't just buy that.
"You could have told me, you could have made me some tea or something that would help."
"It's not that." You pushed the plate away and straightened up, trying to look away from Sanji. Shame already dominated your body at that time. "It's a stupid thing."
"No mon amour, it's not. I'm here, talk to me."
"There's only one thing in the world that I'm afraid of: clowns. Be they the cute ones or the psychopaths alike..."
"Buggy. Has he been a problem?" Sanji tried to understand, although it didn't make sense since the crew hadn't seen him in days.
"First we were trapped in his circus and it was horrible. Then we had his head on board and I was sure that at any moment he was going to appear. Now, I can't stop having vivid nightmares about it." you confessed, feeling your face burn with embarrassment. "I can't sleep, so I come here at night and I always cook something. I usually watch you cook and it seems like something so relaxing, so good. It hasn't helped me much with my sleep, but at least I've been eating some of the inedible things I make ."
"I bet they're as good as the ones I make and if you don't mind, I'd love to cook with you one of these nights." he winked, eliciting a smile from you. "But for tonight, we need to sleep, finish your plate and I'll be right back with something."
A few minutes and mouthfuls later, Sanji appeared with two mugs, with some hot liquid inside them.
"Herbal tea. It'll help you fall asleep."
"I have my doubts, but…" you took a sip of the sweet drink. "It doesn't hurt to try. Are you sleep deprived too?"
"Not really, I just couldn't leave a lady drinking alone."
"If this works, I promise to buy you the next drink at a bar."
"Wait. This a date?" he asked and if it were possible, you would see hearts instead of his eyes.
"We have the drink." you pointed to the two mugs. "We had dinner." You pointed to the lasagna. "Sounds like a date."
"That miserable clown at least did one good thing"
"Don't ruin the moment, Ji."
The two of you finished your drinks in silence, a few glances exchanged were enough to get comfortable together. Sanji picked up the dishes on the table and you followed him with slower steps.
"Thank you for helping me."
"Who said our date is over?" he turned around, grasping his arm for you to intertwine. "I would never let a lady go alone to her chambers."
"You are a gentleman."
"Only for you amour." He stopped in front of your door. "It's delivered and safe."
You stood on your toes, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Thank you, really." You opened the door and before you could enter, you turned around. "Can I ask you one more thing?"
"Whatever madam wants."
"You can stay here for a while, just until I sleep."
"Of course sweetheart" He walked you into the room.
You straightened the bed and lay down on one end, watching him just stare at you, waiting for some sign that he could sit down.
"Please be my guest."
He lay down and almost automatically gave way for you to snuggle against his chest. Your laughter was suppressed when you saw him smiling widely at the contact.
"A few drinks, a dinner..."
"And you ended up in my bed." your voice was already sleepy. Maybe because of the tea, but something said it was more because of the company.
"And I ended up in the perfect place." reciprocating your gesture just now, in the little conscience you had left, you felt his lips touch your forehead. "Sleep missus. I promise not to let any harm come."

Tumblr media
summary: he is loving, so much so, despite everything and because of 'everything' he calls as you. (a short headcanons of them as boyfriend, again.)
notes: january feels like it will be a busy month for me. in a good way, it's a good feeling. maybe this is also a sign i will meet rl isagi. those things aside, happy new year everyone. good luck for this year too. have this very fit of madness hcs. warnings: none, just fluff of downbad & lovesick boys, reader's gender unspecified.
characters: isagi, chigiri, rin
Tumblr media
isagi yoichi—
is so understanding and sharp that you will never feel uncared for. most probably also got a list of your favorite things & important dates in his notes & calendar. even noel noa doesn't get that privilege. he is so downbad that everyone just accepts everything is second to you (and soccer).
is the type that gets so into you once you get his heart. do you worry that you might be #2 soccer? stay still babe, at some point you kind of mix in with 'the soccer' too honestly. every first goal? dedicated in your name. first person to call after a match? you—no matter how short or long it will be, it has to be you. he is away for a match overseas? you better be the one who gets a sleep call schedule ready because when yoichi wants something yoichi will somehow do it. and if you try to praise him—despite all the years of growing confidence—he still gets flustered like a boy with his first crush when it's you. it's as endearing as it is embarrassing to him. if someone points it out he will state it with pride though—after all, his feelings for you are one of his pride.
however, is also the type of guy who would rather shoulder as much as possible. he does it out of love, sure, but having him trying to swallow some problem under the guise of "forcing you to change something is a big no" is just asking for a bigger problem in the long run. so, you do have to be the one who gets the serious talks starting—and he sometimes could get really stubborn even though he is one of the most communicative ones so get ready for that. the thing with yoichi is that he really has to get it to accept it.
Tumblr media
chigiri hyoma—
is a beautiful ikemen who walks with the charm of a shoujo manga lead maxed out. as in if this guy falls for you he just naturally acts like a shoujo lead who came to life. and he is also one of the most fashionable guys who puts attention and care on his and your appearance. try to aim for the cutest couple award and high chance you will win.
is also a very dedicated man. he will make sure you know how much he treasures you and it shows. he is not the tidiest person, he is also a pretty demanding guy, but with you? "fine, okay. i'm doing this just for you, you know," he says and hyoma doesn't lie. he will do anything for you. the amount of trust he puts on you is really evident too and he is not one to shy away from saying it. also, trust that this guy will gladly run across tokyo on a lazy monday morning during his rare break just to deliver you anything if you ask. he will demand kisses, yes, but that's also a benefit in its own way.
but, he is also very moody and, admittedly, impatient. so when he gets into this sort of mood you have to keep your head clear and deal with him until his head cools down. he won't hurt you—he will never—but without a doubt his attitude and wording could definitely drag your anger out. he also tends to focus on one thing and one thing only when he gets like this, while it has its benefits, during these times you have to be really patient when trying to talk to him.
Tumblr media
itoshi rin—
is the type of guy who truly embodies "it's the small things". also, he is so attentive and combining this with the fact he is more into action than words—you honestly get yourself a gold mine of top-tier 'act of service' bf.
is actually very affectionate once you can translate his silent languages. he is always close to you at every chance he gets. it's not even funny. some people could translate this as some guard dog behavior, some braver souls translate this like a kid following the elder around, but honestly rin just likes being close to you. it calms him down in a way that also somehow manages to keep him awake—which is a nicer way to put 'this guy sometimes barely blinks when he is staring at you'. your happiness is one of his top priorities and he will bite someone literally if he has to just for that. this is how bad it is. but all in all, all of this is a way for him to keep an eye for you and be ready to assist you in anything—you need to take something? you need him to carry something? you want to buy something? just leave it to him, it will make him happy too. if you get overwhelmed? tell him, this guy is actually really quick to adjust things the moment he gets it. and for you? he will somehow do it even faster.
with all that being said though, this guy could get confusing at times. when he gets into a particularly negative thought, his first response would be to bark out his emotions and afterward distance himself. clearly, communication with him is hard. but despite all the silent treatment you get, he still wants to have you close—while being the one who keeps his distance from you. dealing with rin when he is being like this truly requires maturity and delicacy that probably rivals an esper skills.

i actually think i have some sort of brain damage from chapter 403 because now ive taken my bkdk obsession to a whole new degree. like, i was insane before, but now i feel as if i should be genuinely put into an asylum.
ive gone through a full on awakening.
before this chapter i refused to believe that bkdk would become canon/hinted bc like its wishful thinking. but now? ive fallen into the fucking deep end. i am of full belief that bkdk will become canon or at least be hinted bc horikoshi is cooking something and im so glad im not the only one to see it.
there is no way that man doesnt know what hes doing. bkdks entire arc has been fucking perfect and this man just keeps BUILDING UP. like all this talk about feelings, and how bkdk have never really spoken about them to eachother before??? this is like, building up to a fucking love confession i swear, because katsuki DIED for izuku, and izuku cant control his heart when it comes to katsuki, and like… what other explaination is there? atp i consider it canon that theyre in love with each other.
and the other most likely ship that i thought was gonna be canon, izuocha, just is not feasible. its not like i dislike the ship, no hate to it at all, but making it canon would be so fucking harmful to izuku and ochakos characters and we dont talk about that enough. it would a dissapointing, flat conclusion with barely any build up and itd be the bland, predictable formula. like, ochako has already basically wrapped up her thing with izuku with that entire fight with toga. shes admitted herself that her crush on izuku was more admiration than anything of massive substance. and dont even get me started on izuku. barring some fluster and embarrassed blushing in the early seasons, this boy has NOT reciprocated AT ALL. its actually ridiculous. izuku has been focused on like, two things only: hero work, and kacchan. izuku does not show ANY romantic feeling to ochako whatsoever.
surely, surely if horikoshi were to make this canon, he’d put in a little more effort? add some more chemistry, more development, more than just ‘boy meets girl. blush and get shy. little crush. get married. the end’?
that is bad storytelling, and horikoshi is anything but a bad storyteller. this guy adds foreshadowing YEARS before the chapter. horikoshi is INSANE when it comes to character + relationship + plot development. if horikoshi throws all that out the way, and makes izuocha canon, id be extremely, extremely disappointed. not because i hate the ship, but because itd be out of nowhere, disregard practically ALL development, and be nauseatingly dissatisfying.
talking of which, for the entire day ive been thinking about the foreshadowing for bkdk.
there. is. so. fucking. much. it feels like everytime i read like a new section of the manga, their relationship is described in the most frutti tutti rainbow gay way. im sorry, shigafo, did you just say that katsuki is closer to izuku than ANYONE else? excuse me, aizawa, did you just describe them as pair, a pair that the class revolves around? dont even mention the shit that izuku and katsuki say referring to each other. i cant even choose one to add in here, but every out of context bkdk quote has like these SEVERE more-than-platonic undertones, especially when you consider their past and their development. i feel like horikoshi has been doing some fucking insane foreshadowing for something MORE.
yk, i keep on thinking about how in the double spread in 403, the words ‘the beginning’ are displayed right over bkdk, as they find each other. call me delusional, but that has to be on purpose. i also keep on thinking about izukus green and orange gloves in so many official arts, and the light in both their eyes when they see each other, and the way theyre both always observing the other, never speaking about how they feel directly.
their relationship is just so, so……. and i feel like the only next step is for them to talk. just. fucking. talk. its been hinted at for so long, and horikoshi is doing SOMETHING.
them simply being together would be the most satisfying, developed, beautiful ending.
if they arent canon, i will die. ill say it now. bkdk canon. there is too much proof. as a writer, i know for a fact that i write everything for a REASON. why would horikoshi write this, if he wasn’t going to do anything with it?
bkdk will be canon. i dont care if i sound insane, or get proved entirely wrong. i now fully believe that the last page of the manga will be bkdk at a theme park eating crepes.
thank you chapter 403 for driving me off the rails.

on the mischaracterization of norway, a mini character analysis (because i feel like people are tired of me going 'oh, i like canon norway so much more than fanon!' without explaining myself)
Tumblr media
before anyone starts barking at me, you can prefer fanon interpretations! that's 100% fine! the point of this post is to discuss what canon nor is actually like, because i feel like most people don't even know that there's a difference between canon and fanon
a) on seriousness
i feel like there's a big dissonance between the serious, solemn norway portrayed in fanon, and how he acts in canon! don't get me wrong, he can be serious, but he's also a silly guy! he has a sense of humour and he likes to tease and be kinda mischievous!
some examples from the manga that i feel show this! (there's a lot!! this is a recurring character trait!!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
b) on being cool (he's not) (not even a little bit)
point being that he's a loser and a weirdo and strange and awkward and shy and, unlike how i usually see him in the fandom, not suave at all :,) examples (image order is right to left):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
c) on his relationship with other characters
this is gonna be a quick point because tbh it deserves its own post haha but 1) dennor like each other!!!! it baffles me that people act like they don't! norway teases him a lot but he clearly cares!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also a good place to add an explanation as to how nor uses the words "bro" and "brother"! hima has said that his use of the japanese "anko" is meant to resemble a regional japanese accent where the word is used how "bro" would be used to refer to a classmate or friend! it's not meant to be nor thinking of denmark as an actual brother
2) he and ice are silly together :) he calls him just to ask a single question and hangs up on him. he threw him a surprise birthday party right in the middle between their 2 birthdays! he's not just an overbearing older brother, he's genuinely warm toward him!!

Explaining the differences between FMA (2003) and FMAB cause why not
with no explicit spoilers for events, storylines, characters, etc.
Why are they different?
FMA 03 and the manga were coming out at the same time and FMA 03 was in danger of catching up to the manga. When this happens animes create filler to put some distance between the manga and anime but the FMA production team basically went Nah, imma do my own thing.
Which is exactly what they did bc instead of adding fillers they just straight up deviated from the manga.
This is why both animes while sharing the same cast and world, are so different.
How are they different?
To summarize these differences:
FMA 03 is a lot darker than FMAB
FMA 03 expanded on a lot of scenes, characters, arcs, and storylines
FMA 03 added characters, arcs, and storylines that weren’t in the manga
And FMA 03, you know, changed shit.
With the most notable being, the ending.
FMA 03's last episode isn't the conclusion. The 2005 movie Conqueror of Shamballa is
FMA 03 is DARK
I know I mentioned that FMA 03 is dark but holy fuck it’s a lot darker. To the point where if you asked someone the differences between FMA 03 and FMAB it’ll be the first thing they mention after the ending.
FMA 03 is a pretty dark anime don’t get me wrong but part of the reason why FMA 03 is seen as so dark is because in comparison FMAB is a lot more lighthearted. Now don’t get me wrong FMAB doesn’t shy away from its dark themes but FMA 03 not only embraces it but it delves deeper into them.
FMAB also has these comic relief moments to lighten the mood that FMA 03 just doesn’t have. FMAB is a surprisingly lighthearted anime, especially considering what it’s about.
How is FMAB's adaptation different?
FMAB, unlike FMA 03, stuck to the source material. It’s considered to be a completely faithful adaptation, which isn’t entirely correct.
FMAB was made with the thought that the viewers were fans of FMA 03, and were already familiar with the world and characters.
That’s why FMAB’s first episode feels like a recap and lore dump because that’s exactly what it is. Its purpose was to refresh the older fans' memories and reintroduce them to the world and characters.
This is also why FMAB feels so fast-paced for the first 15ish episodes. It’s bc they’re trying to get past the material they already adapted to get to the content that was never animated.
Though doing this means that FMAB just completely cut things out or trimmed them down.
For example, the Mining Town never got a proper adaptation in FMAB and they completely cut out the Train Battle but both of these were properly adapted in FMA 03.
That’s why FMAB tends to throw people off when Yoki appears later in the anime. The cast acts familiar with him but that part of the story just wasn’t adapted so viewers didn’t even know he existed until then.
So yeah, FMAB did stick to the manga, I just wouldn’t call it completely faithful.
I think that about sums up the differences without going too deep into it. If I forgot something or if you have any questions please let me know.

My souring sentiments on Sailor Moon's manga
It'll be a surprise to no one who knows me even remotely that Sailor Moon was my everything back in my childhood. From the age of 9, I was utterly obsessed with it.
That was just a couple of years shy of 30 years ago.
Tumblr media
Since then, I've often revisited the series. I watched the entirety of the Viz dub of the classic anime; all 200 episodes.
And I loved it all the same, if not more so than before. Because now I have context for why exactly the anime was the way it was, including its gradual diversion from the manga source material. And I respect the hell out of the staff who poured their life into this work, while concurrently running with the manga and doing whatever it could to not completely outpace it in the narrative.
Are there a lot of fillers in the OG anime? Yes. Too many? Well, not so from a functional standpoint (this show had to run weekly for 5 years), but there are definitely some fillers you could skip and miss nothing in doing so.
But a story like Sailor Moon honestly needed some breathing room in order to properly flesh out the cast.
Tumblr media
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, the live-action reimagining of the show, was phenomenal back then (despite looking low-budget even by 2003 standards), and having re-watched the whole series recently, I can safely say PGSM more than holds up and deserves way more love and respect than it gets. It's THE perfect example of reimagining the story of Sailor Moon while still respecting its roots and maintaining the soul of the franchise.
Tumblr media
Which is exactly why I couldn't stand Sailor Moon Crystal. We knew from the off that it was supposed to be completely faithful to the manga, but one look through @crystalvsmanga will show you Crystal took shitloads of "creative liberties", and the amount of changes I could dare to call "good"? I could count them on one hand.
The animation is low-hanging fruit, because everyone and their dog knows how godawful it was for the first two story arcs. But more than that, I actually loathed the general art design. Yukie Sakou's style DID NOT closely resemble Naoko Takeuchi's. People kept saying it, but I couldn't really see it. The eyes especially are a far cry from Takeuchi's style. And Sakou's style did NOT facilitate the OTT cartoony expressions that were definitely present in Takeuchi's manga; everyone looked so goddamn soulless, like overly-expensive porcelain dolls.
My biggest gripe with Crystal was the story, of course. While a great deal came from just being from the manga (which I'll get to in a bit), the changes they made went a long way to actively make the manga's story worse. My main takeaway from Crystal S1-2 is that it took itself waaaaay too seriously.
Tumblr media
That being said, I did like Crystal's third season a lot better BECAUSE Chiaki Kon had way more competence and held a lot more respect for Sailor Moon. Like, my god, for once it felt like there was a soul in this show! It can actually take the piss every now and then!
Some silly things kinda broke my immersion (such as the Senshi just being able to fuckin' fly and Chibi-Moon in particular was literally sky-stepping), but most of that can be blamed on the source material it was adapting. While I was fine with Crystal3, I definitely didn't feel it was anywhere near as good as Sailor Moon S. Outside of Hotaru/Sailor Saturn having more of a presence, there wasn't really much in Crystal's take on Infinity that I liked better than S.
But most of that comes down to the fact that I liked S more than manga's Infinity arc to begin with.
Tumblr media
Which is a good segue to talk about the manga proper.
I have not yet watched Eternal or Cosmos. the movies that adapted the last two manga arcs, but it'd be redundant since I know ahead of time what they're going to be about, and so far I haven't heard about any of them deviating from the source material, so it'd be moot to talk about them even if I had watched.
When I first got my hands on the manga, which was when I was around 12-13 and thus got the crappy MiXxZine translations, I was fine enough with it. Thought it was too fast-paced and didn't care for 99% of the villains being one-and-done jobbers, but I was also reading it with my impressions of the 90's anime characters still intact. I was reading the manga like an extension of the anime, rather than the other way around.
It wasn't until many years later when I grew older, when the manga was properly translated, when I acquired the wisdom my teenaged-ass self lacked, and learned to look at the manga as a completely separate entity that I started to see the cracks in the manga's narrative.
Further rereads have left me in something of a mindfuck, as I experienced the manga the proper way. And I realized:
The more I read the manga, the more I disliked it.
Tumblr media
The manga is lauded for having an infinitely better depiction of Mamoru, as well as his ~Miracle Romance~ with Usagi.
Objectively, the manga definitely spends lots more time giving UsaMamo attention as a couple than any other aspect of the story...
I'd say they're also more developed as individuals in the manga too, but usually the beats, uh...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
... let's say they usually ring hollow, when these two (and sometimes their daughter) are the only ones who consistently get shit done across the series. Hell, on the rare occasion that the Inner Senshi weren't rendered into street pizza, Neo Queen Serenity basically told them to fuck off and let her daughter, past self, and past hubby take on motherfucking DEATH PHANTOM/NEMESIS BY THEMSELVES.
It's likely because my first exposure to Sailor Moon was via the 90s anime, which had more of a focus on friendship and comradery between Usagi and her friends than it did her romance with Mamoru. I mean, romance was DEFINITELY a prominent thing even in that iteration of the story, but that wasn't where my interest lied. I was, am currently, and always will be more interested in Usagi's galpals than I'll ever be interested in her love life.
And, well, I'm sure this qualifies as a hot take, but...
Tumblr media
This one moment with Usagi and Mamoru in the elevator (hell, their interaction across this entire episode was great) resonated with me far more than any ultra-romantic declarations of eternal devotion that Usagi and Mamoru kept regurgitating at each other in the manga.
Tumblr media
Granted, the manga had a FEW moments early on where their dynamic was more playful, but they were pretty much confined to the early chapters and this element of their chemistry pretty much died not long after this.
Some say 90s anime Mamoru was far too mean-spirited in his teasing of Usagi. And I mean, sure, he was kind of a douche at times, but he usually got some karmic blowback from it (I remember one time he made Usagi cry without even really meaning to, and she cried so loud in public that randos nearby were giving Mamoru the evil-eye or a scolding). But honestly, after R, Mamoru kinda became a bland, generic love interest, just as he almost always was in the manga. The only difference was that anime Mamoru was never granted powers that were literally equal to Usagi's. The manga gave him a GOLDEN FUCKING CRYSTAL.
There was that infamous break-up arc in R that, yes, was shitty in concept and execution. But if I had anything positive to say about it, it at least shook up the status quo. It didn't make him immediately fall into the bland, generic love interest he would soon become. And it gave us some of the most emotionally-charged Usagi moments in the entire anime.
Tumblr media
Conversely, in the manga, we had THIS shit for our UsaMamo "drama":
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(the former incident with Usagi literally accusing her boyfriend of falling in love with a kid, by the way, happened while MOST OF HER FRIENDS WERE KIDNAPPED BY THE ENEMY AND COULD'VE BEEN DEAD FOR ALL SHE KNEW AND YET SHE FUCKING HAD TIME FOR THIS STUPID SHIT)
Everything seemed to revolve around Usagi and Mamoru (sometimes Chibiusa too). It lowkey came off that way at times even in the 90s anime, but in the manga or Crystal? You'd be hard-pressed to find the girls engaging in their stated hobbies at most points in time, because they're usually all together and talking about their prince and princess.
Hell, even Haruka - Sailor Uranus herself - seemed much more interested in Usagi than she ever did in Michiru, her actual girlfriend.
Tumblr media
So... am I just missing something? I've seen people say that as they grow older, they prefer the manga/Crystal to the 90s anime. But I've never seen anyone other than myself express the opposite sentiment.
But it's true - unless I completely leave my brain at the door, I have a hard time enjoying the manga for what it is. The characters I'm most interested in or attached to quickly get swept aside for the characters I have the least interest in. No more does that ring true than the Stars arc of the manga, where Naoko Takeuchi basically speedruns killing off literally the entire cast until Sailor Moon's the only one left standing. Most characters don't even get to go out in a blaze of glory or anything - it's got nothing on the finale of the 90s anime's first season in that regard. If you're lucky, you'll get a single panel where your entire existence is ripped to shreds - but sometimes you'll be killed literally off-screen!!
Tumblr media
There's a number of questionable manga-exclusive aspects that rubbed me the wrong way as well, such as poor Sailor Pluto being assigned as a child to guard the Door of Time in complete and total solitude. While I appreciate more Silver Millennium lore that the manga provided (the anime hardly mentioned it past the first arc), it was more than a little uncomfortable knowing the OG Queen Serenity conscripted the Inner Senshi as small children to become Princess Serenity's guardians. Really casts Queen Serenity and her Moon Kingdom in a much darker light - like maybe Queen Beryl and Queen Nehelenia had a point in trying to take them down (though the manga I believe retcons all past villains as incarnations of Chaos, so that arguably removes all prior villains' agency?). Lots of little things that I didn't think twice about, but now that I look at them again, I'm wondering WTF Naoko Takeuchi was thinking.
Though I don't want to be too hard on her. Poor girl was working under stress far longer than she'd planned to (she'd intended on ending the story either by the Dark Kingdom or Black Moon arc), so it's no surprise there's a lot of clunk and clutter in the narrative.
Tumblr media
I often wondered if Naoko Takeuchi really wanted to make Sailor Moon with a Super Sentai-esque setup in the first place. After all, her first big hit was Sailor V, which was exclusively Minako and Artemis fighting evil with Minako having her own masked love interest she ended up being at odds with and he eventually died. With a scant few secondary characters here and there.
It led to me thinking about what Sailor Moon would be like if Naoko kept the cast to a more Sailor V-like size. That, perhaps, the Sailor Moon she really wanted to make would be quite a different beast from how we know it to be today.
So this lengthy diatribe about my personal conflicts with my waning fondness for the manga versus my strengthened love for the OG anime and live-action show was actually a preamble to a bizarre AU I wrote an outline for over a year ago but never posted in public. I had considered posting it to Sailor Moon's Reddit back then, but I (probably wisely) held off, as my musing went way off the rails.
But I figured now's a good time as any to share it here, at least. Though it'll need to be its own post since I wrote so goddamn much in this post alone, wow.
On that note, I'll end with this: The only iteration of UsaMamo that I unironically enjoyed and rooted for is...

Bkdk is canon bitch, there's a new cover to proof it
Oh? I guess you mean this picture here, right?
Tumblr media
What a coincidence that shouto is also on the picture and has his hand on izukus shoulder, I guess that means tododeku is confirmed canon now too! 🤔
So tell me what exactly about this picture confirms bkdk as canon, espicially since shoto is also there? Dont tell me, its because izuku and bakugou are standig side by side or because you are one of these idiots who believes izuku pulling bakugou by his tie to make him look into "the camera" like he and shoto do means he has romantic feelings for him?!🤦‍♀️🤣🤣🤣
If that isnt the cover you are talking about, dont shy away from sending the right one to me, I want something to laugh at. And next time have at least enough balls to not go anon you pathetic coward! 💋
So and even if izuku pulls bakugou by his tie (by literally trying to make him look into the camera izuku EVEN IS POINTING TO), do you want to know some great news in return? That both bakugou and izuku debunked any kind of romantic bkdk a long time before this cover even came out, in one of the light novels which are canon.
In said light novel todoroki asks bakugou why he and izuku dont get along despite knowing each other for so long and bakugou replies with: "just because you know someone for a long time, doesnt mean you get along" and right afterwards he compares his relationship with izuku with the one between shoto and HIS ABUSIVE FATHER!!!! Duuuuhhhhhh!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
And izuku replies with that he cant even call bakugou a "childhood friend" since bakugou always treated him like shit!!! Do you SERIOUSLY believe that horikoshi will let his main character end up with the guy who abused him for 12 YEARS in a manga directed at 9-13 year old boys?! In a country that sees homosexuality still as something shameful and dirty and whos government keeps a strict eye on everything related to it?! At this point thats just wishful thinking and even the bkdk shippers in japan (who are for the most part adult woman this manga isnt even directed to) know it has no chance for ending up canon 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
And here is an other nice fact: two years or so ago there was a bkdk fanart contest with a lot of fanarts who showed bakugou and izuku in a romantic light and do you want to know how horikoshi reacted to that? While he praised the talents of the artists he made clear that THIS is NOT what bakugous and izukus relationship is like (romantic)! Man, it must really suck if even the author debunks your disgusting toxic ass ship and makes clear how problematic their whole relationship is!
And how mature of you, calling a person you dont even know a "bitch" just because that person doesnt like your ship which has ZERO chance of ending up canon anyway! Get a life, touch some grass and maybe stop fantasize about two teenagers fucking each other!

MHA's River Scene Symbolism - How to Build a Narrative Around a Simple Scene
As the My Hero Academia manga approaches its long-awaited final chapters, I thought it would be good to talk about one of the most important, but also most generally misunderstood moment of the series - Bakugou falling into the river as a kid and Deku trying to help him.
Let me start off by saying that Kohei Horikoshi is great at visual storytelling. In order to understand why he can write redemption stories so well, one has to look at the literal meaning and symbolism behind his panels. Bakugou and Deku's childhood memory, while being the start of their broken relationship, also serves as the first core symbol in the manga that later takes on many different forms. Hands- as Horikoshi says - are very expressive and tell a lot about a person. Shigaraki, for example, has hands all around his body which are tragic reminders of his origin. But what about the panel that started it all?
Tumblr media
Bakugou and Deku are intertwined narratively
First of all, we have to talk about just why Bakugou reacted the way he did. Horikoshi's message in the story seems to be that if there's something wrong on the level of society, personal relationships can reflect that same state. The hero society favors those who have powerful and flashy quirks, making them heroes who fight those who were born different than the norm and went down on the wrong path a.k.a. the villains.
Even before getting his quirk, Bakugou could feel that he was different than Deku. He was naturally gifted in many areas, lived a comfortable life, and was praised for the smallest of things by the adults and children around him. If we add his natural brazen personality that he inherited from his mother, Bakugou was a kid both gifted and appreciated by the society. On the other hand, little Deku who lived in the same neighborhood was quirkless, plain, not outstandingly talented at anything and naturally shy and introverted. For Bakugou, who gained the ego of the size of the Moon, it made perfect sense that Deku ended up being quirkless - after all, Deku was unremarkable even before that from the perspective of the collective whole, and him being quirkless only reinforced the idea that Deku was below him. He wasn't outright hostile towards him, but he made clear Deku was someone who should always walk behind him because Bakugou is superior than him.
Until little Katsuki fell into the river. It was a simple moment, but changed their relationship forever. Because little Izuku who was supposed to be a loser ended up the only one who tried to help him. Because Deku showcased that he had the heart and selfless nature of a real hero, something Bakugou didn't have. But Bakugou was supposed to be the remarkable one, so was Deku mocking him by trying to help him? Was he saying that Bakugou needed help because Deku was better? Because this was what Bakugou started to think and became the source of his inferiority complex - he had to prove to himself that he was better by belittling Deku. Not a nice thing to do by any means, but a natural response from a kid whose whole world was shattered in that single moment.
The funny thing is, Deku and Bakugou's reactions stem from the two sides of the same feeling - when you realize someone has something that you don't. Izuku admires Bakugou because he's talented, brave and strong, something which Deku aspires to be (that's why he calls him his "Image of Victory"). Bakugou is afraid of Deku because he's naturally selfless and kind, so he wants to push him away in order to feel better about himself. Bakugou doesn't hate Deku, he hates what his presence in his life represents - that he's not the center of the universe and has to learn as a hero.
Bakugou and Deku both learn from each other in the story in order to become the best versions of themselves. Deku imitates Bakugou when he wants to be brave and improve his moves, while Bakugou's redemption journey is centered around his regrets about Deku. Interestingly they are also both each other's first "save" when their bodies moved without thinking.
Reaching out a hand
The river scene is the core of one of the most important themes of the series - helping those who might not need it and accepting the help that is given to you. Bakugou regrets not taking Deku's hand and not seeing his kindness, the same hand that is able to reach many others and inspire them, like Uraraka, Iida, Todoroki, Kota or even Shigaraki. Deku doesn't believe that Bakugou would ever want to receive help from him. Horikoshi visually paires this idea with the transfer of OFA - we see the users reaching out a hand to pass on the power.
The first OFA user is saved by the second who offered his hand to him. Funnily enough they resemble Deku and Bakugou, even AFO notes it. Whether it's the reincarnation of their will, or just visual parallels, the first OFA transfer happened because a person reached out to another. The manga's message is that one's soul can be saved if they are willing to accept the help others offer and are willing to change themselves for the better. Endeavor and Bakugou both died symbolically to reborn as better people. Shoto was able to reach Touya in order to save his soul. it doesn't mean the villains will be model citizens after these acts, but it's more about the spiritual cleansing of their souls, even if they die.
Deku offered his hand to Bakugou who refused to take it and went down on the path of bad. Years later, Bakugou understands that even if they are the ones who know each other the best, both of them misunderstood the other and regrets not accepting Deku's kindness. He apologizes surrounded by rain. a great call-back to how he was drenched in water and Deku willingly did the same to help him - now Bakugou lets the water cleanse his soul while he shows his most vulnerable side to the person he was afraid of and hurt the most. It really shows how Horikoshi was able to build a great narrative centered around one simple, seemingly unimportant moment that happened between two kids. It has become a great scene that highlights the problems of the hero society, how characters become heroes by offering help to those who need it, and how one can change by atoning for their sins (like what we see with Endeavor as well).
And most importantly, the river scene tells us how one doesn't need a quirk to be a hero if they have a selfless heart, and how Deku has always been and always will be a hero even if he loses OFA.

Wallflower live action ep 1
Wallflower (also known as Perfect Girl Evolution) is one of my all-time favorite mangas. The story takes the simple Cinderella/Pygmalion fantasy and turns it on its head. Four pretty boys who rent a house get told by their eccentric landlady that if they can transform her niece Sunako into a lady, they get to live rent-free. Always broke, the boys enthusiastically agree. Enter Sunako - spotty, unkempt, horror-loving, people-avoiding Goth. Good luck, boys!
Wallflower features perhaps one of the most awesome heroines to ever exist. Sunako is beyond TOUGH. And I mean tough. You mess with her (or with anyone she likes - one of the boys, her girlfriend Noi etc), an army will not save you from her wrath.
The boys (blunt, food-obsessed Kyohei, the "caring feminist" Takenaga, the playboy Ranmaru, and the sweet Yuki) do not know what is about to hit them. Wallflower is NOT about them reforming Sunako - the boys give up fairly quickly (they just try to pretend they are continuing so as to continue to get the deal from the landlady) and just accept Sunako for who she is - a violent weirdo who can cook. Sunako makes no excuses for being who she is - she has no interest in transforming herself into a barbie, she makes no bones about loving her horror movies or living with skeletons, her lack of interest in her hot neighbors 'that way', or in any pretensions about being ladylike.
Wallflower is really a celebration of being different and being happy in that difference. All the characters are somewhat odd - Yuki is delicate and shy, Takenaga is some sort of benevolent Moriarti, Ranmaru is a shameless, older-women-loving slut, and Kyohei...Oh, Kyohei. He is probably the only character who is almost as weird as Sunako is.
Nor do all the boys fall in love with Sunako magically or anything like that. Yuki has a long-standing girlfriend, Takenaga and Ranmaru acquire OTPs (Takenaga's girlfriend Noi is one of my favorite characters ever. God, I love her!) Kyohei and Sunako are the OTP but it's not because he sees her inner princess or anything silly like that - they are both blunt, violent, not too bright people imprisoned by their looks who like to do the same things for fun (one of my favorite things in Wallflower is the parallel it draws between the 'creature of darkness' Sunako and the ultimate pretty boy Kyohei - nobody sees them as a person, not really, because of the facade being so all-engulfing. Sunako freaks out the passerby and Kyohei can't keep down a job because the staff and customers start fights over him - underneath all the OTT hilariousness, Wallflower has a lovely point about inner persons).
Tumblr media
Kyohei, Sunako's eventual boyfriend, is first introduced when he is (a) getting groped by his boss, (b) has screaming ladies disrupting the restaurant wanting to have him be their waiter; (c) loses it spectacularly, smashing the ladies' table, punching out the boss, and quitting. This has clearly happened to him umpteen times before.
The other three guys are Oda Takenaga, smart and cold-blooded:
Tumblr media
Yuki, the sweet one:
Tumblr media
Ranmaru, the older ladies' loving slut.
Tumblr media
Together, they are Wallflower's very own F4, only much better adjusted. Let's call them W4, like the tax form.
Tumblr media
Their rental is a gothic looking castle which will suit Sunako but why their landlady owns one is manga logic.
Tumblr media
The Landlady is living her best life and the story is sprung in motion when she requests W4 turn her niece Sunako into a lady and that way rent is free. Watching Kyohei go from disgruntled by the idea to ecstatic at the mention of free rent is priceless.
Tumblr media
Our first look at Sunako and she is just as gloriously odd as she should be. She also is utterly displeased to be sharing her living quarters with "creatures of the light." I adore her!!! She wants to avoid light, wear her hood, watch her horror movies, and roll in her creepy memorabilia.
Tumblr media
W4 entrap Sunako by strewing a trail of horror items.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the makeover fails because Sunako is supernaturally strong and frees herself, causes an electric storm and escapes back into her lair. Good luck, boys, you will need it!
Meanwhile, the boys aren't the only ones trying to make cash. Here is Sunako's friend taking pics of Kyohei to sell to fangirls for money.
Tumblr media
Said friend gets in trouble (she's been giving all her money to a host. Because of course) and Kyohei is also forced being a host or else Sunako's friend gets it. Manga logic is present.
Tumblr media
But here is where we get to meet the REAL unhinged Sunako, who is not keen on either her friend or her roommates being taken advantage of and comes to the rescue herself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before you get carried away, being around too many good-looking people causes her to freak out ahahaah.
Tumblr media
It's OK, her backup aka the rest of the boys are here, in drag.
Tumblr media
Eventually, everything goes to hell and Kyohei and Sunako end up being caught and tied up. (Now that I think about it, the manga had a serious people being tied up fetish :P)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Too bad for the bad guys, Sunako is strong and violent and unties them both, and they go on to the violent rampage through the club, knocking hordes of opponents out in unison and Kyohei FALLS IN LOVE. (I will always be into the fact that he fell for the woman after seeing her headbutt people and crack their skulls ahahahah.)
Tumblr media
Having destroyed a metric ton of goons and rescued whoever they needed to, Sunako and Kyohei gift exchange - she gets cookies, he gets a skull. And a start of a beautiful new friendrelationship is born!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honestly, the first ep is just as fun as when I watched it ages ago. Nothing will ever be as good and as wildly out there as the manga but this is a good adaptation tbh.

Toman gang with a s/o who patches them up after a fight Pt 1 takemichi, chifuyu, kazutora
with them being in something as dangerous as a gang, they are bound to get hurt; how are they with a s/o who tends to their injuries after a fight
Tumblr media
takemichi
Tumblr media
He's so grateful for you, and he never forgets to of that
being known as the "crybaby" he's bound to get pretty roughed up
it's a common occurrence for you to sit him down on your couch, the first aid kit opened beside you while you are focused on properly cleaning any cuts he has
you did scold him the first few times, but once he explains his intentions you can't help but admire him. the way he is willing to put everything he has on the line to save those he loves probably made you fall for him even more
however you aren't the only one falling more in love, with all these reoccurrences takemichi is to, your gentle and caring nature makes his heart swoon
the way you were willing to drop whatever you were doing to care for him, takemichi adores you
"hey baby, thanks again I'm sorry you had to drop everything to help me"
he insists on finding a way to make it up to you, so you can expect random gifts from him appearing in places he knows you'll find them
chifuyu
Tumblr media
this ray of sunshine is ashamed that you have to drop everything to help him
once you insist that you want to because you care about him, it did make him feel a little better but he still felt like a disturbance
he tries to make it up to you any way he can dates, random love notes
hed try to get you to kiss them better from time to time
a part of him loves how caring you are, it almost brings him to tears from time to time
call it corny but he highlights some stuff in his romance mangas/ novels that remind him of you and when he lets you borrow it you see some of the sweet things he highlighted things like I love you's or quotes he's too shy to tell you
he imagines you both getting married, he's so lovestruck it's adorable he hopes you'd care for him as much as you do now as your husband
peke j loves you more than him, he is jealous of that
he buys you both bentos after you patch him up as a thank you/apology
kazutora
Tumblr media
"woah why are you doing this, your not mad are you?"
he is not used to anyone being so kind, especially with his time in jail you and toman are the only kindness he knows
at first, he's scared, he couldn't tell if you were mad at him
kazutora isn't the best at accepting such kind gestures but over time he grew dependent on it, it was both comforting and reassuring to him
you were so gentle when bandaging him up, your voice soft every time you'd ask him where it hurt. Even that was enough to help him forget about the injuries
it brings him to tears at times, you hug him and tell him its fine and that you love him despite his past
he tries his best to return the favor hed to just about anything to see you smile, even more so if it was because of him

i have no idea about anything that happens in splatoon but can u please tell me about those two pearl and marina bitches theyre so funny
unfortunately for you its late so i will not be going into the full splatoon super fan mode for this explanation(lying).
Okay so Marina and Pearl are the idols for Splatoon 2 together they make the duo Off the Hook. Pearl raps (MC Princess) and Marina djs (DJ Hyperfresh). We actually know very little about Marinas past in comparison to other idols outside of her being a Very smart and capable soldier/engineer (she was building weapons of war dw abt it) but Pearl comes from a super unfathomably rich family and was a punk/metal singer prior to Off the Hook (her notable song from that time being called 'Fuckin Dudes Be Fuckin Sleepin' im not censoring that) Marina met Pearl after leaving the army, after some weeks gave her the demo for a song she made called Ebb & Flow and Pearl was like let's make music and that was their first song. (the full 'Fly Octo Fly ~ Ebb & Flow' sounds better to me personally but whatev) The idols from Splat 1 Callie and Marie (Squid Sisters) are I believe formally trained singers/dancers and in comparison Off the Hook were described as being naturally talented. Further while the Squidsters are meant to be rivals (represented by a Fox and Tanuki) Off the Hook are supposed to have an incredibly close and strong bond (represented by a Crane and a Turtle) the final splatfests for both of these games also reflect this (though ironically Rina and Pearl are also partially based on Biggie and Tupac) Pearl is the more brash and outgoing of the 2 where Marina is more shy. They have the most synergy of all the idols I think. It comes through in their music, art, and dialogue/interactions and that's what makes them so enjoyable <:] That's all I'm giving for lore but for fun facts outside of what I've already mentioned
Pearl's voice can cause shockwaves that cause mass destruction (in 'Fuckin Dudes Be Fuckin Sleepin' you can hear glass somewhere shatter at the end bc of this)
Marina likes to draw and makes shoujo manga (or has made at least one titled Dear Pearl)
Marina designed the collection of 24 splatfest stages/maps called Shifty Stations which use octarian tech as well as the Flooder (the Shifty Station stages are named after different western novels in english and shoujo manga in japanese)
Pearl has a custom weapon called the Princess Cannon (which aids in the previously mentioned mass destruction)
There's Off the Hook branded cereal and plushies in the splatooniverse
In jpn lyrics to Off the Hook's songs are written in katakana(Rina) and hiragana(Pearl) because in world they're singing in different languages. Some game dialogue is like this also.
Pearl just....eats mayonnaise
Pearl threatened to cut an old man after he was being specie-ist to Marina
Pearl designed Camp Triggerfish (another stage...its a campsite...lodge whatever) she also wrote it's jingle and her family owns it
Marina's suuuper into machinery and also has a motorcycle
Bonus track of them recording for 'Into the Light' featuring Pearl fucking up her rap
that's all I don't have anything else thats more specific bc I got into splatoon 2 late so I dont know Every little detail but i know a few

Hello Chatte,
How have you been doing?
I have this thing that's been pestering me for a while now. A lot of NH defenders/shippers swear on their life that there are strong parallels between her and Kushina and it's a hill these people are willing to die on.
They love to cite examples from that god forsaken series called Boruto, where they have comical moments of Hinata being the ''scary mommy'' trope and a ''hot headed wife'' just like Kushina. This doesn't sit well with me and I just see it as SP being SP, nothing more, nothing less; and for the NH fan to be like ''ohh..... look...... there are so many parallels between MK and NH. NH was planned from the beginning. yay...... '' Those sorta BS (pardon me my French).
Also, I'd like to point out that I'm an anti ender not because of the pairing reasons but because of how the ending happened. All thanks to each and every character being nothing more than a pairing fodder, the show has left many debates as to what it's messages and themes are.
I really have zero reasons to like female characters like Sakura and Hinata but this, this is beyond character assassination and also an insult to the fan base, especially those who gave common sense and aren't blinded by pairing choice. For me how the characters are treated is way more important than shipping.
Also, when is your next YT video on Boruto being Oro's genjutsu gonna be released?
Thank for reading my somewhat lame and a long comment and I wish you the best with Kaika Saisei
Cheers!
Hi there,
Well, for the whole NH thing, the reason why they insist is because the sequel did a 180 and changed her characteristics, so ofc they are willing to die on that hill.
But we all know if we look at the actual content from the manga that she has nothing in common with Kushina nor Minato like they like to say. Kushina is loud and passionate. Where have you seen Hinata display those qualities? Whereas Minato is calm & calculated, something that she isn't once again. She's quiet & shy but that doesn't equate the calmness Minato displays. Not to mention we've seen even in this one shot that Kishi wrote that Minato can also get super passionate from time to time, whereas Hinata has never displayed that feat.
All in all for this whole thing to work they had to turn her into Sakura. It's clear as daylight to anyone who isn't a NH. Even a neutral. So why consume your energy with what they're saying? It's not like it's true. The evidence to support that is those 15 years of serialization prior to the ending that holds all the weight.
We all know TL & the other products at the end were made so that they can retcon the pre-established narrative.
The show ending the way it did basically destroyed everything Naruto once as a story stood for. Sad, but true.
I always said I wouldn't have had any issue with the choice of pairings if done correctly. After all, I used to be a multishipper once. I saw the potential that all had in the beginning. It's just that when part 2 launched, the story was clear of its direction - of course, until they decided to retcon again and to hell with everything.
And sadly, the girls got the short end of the stick. Both Hinata & Sakura, if we're being true to ourselves. But these people are ready to die on a hill just because they're so attached to their opinions rather than seeing the story for what it is - a great emotional impact story, but with a lot of issues underneath it if you put aside the emotional impact.
It's the reason why it pulls so many people into it. Because it's filled with emotional manipulation, in a way. Look at the way the franchise also directs its marketing campaigns for other materials/products. They scan the internet, see what the talk is in the fandom & then bam, there they are with their products that just so happen to have the thematic of whatever talk is in the fandom - like when they are some sort of servants because at some point NH & SS were arguing about who's richer and who's the servant and who's the patron and all kind of BS like that.
Or when we in the NaruSaku fandom had an extensive talk about tarot and the symbolism that surrounds NS and 6 months later bam, there they are with products with tarot themes.
Or that game they have and I saw two of the concepts I had for Sakura combined into a third one.
Tumblr media
They basically combined these two artwork concepts into the third one that is their image from the game.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So what can I say? As you can see, Pierrot be doing whatever it is to get their way, lol.
If you think about the girls - when they thought Hinata was more profitable, they pushed her in everybody's face so much so that it affected the story's ending.
Now that Sakura's more profitable, they discarded Hinata like a used toy and she barely makes any appearances outside her mom-like persona.
This only shows anyone with a little critical thinking that SP has no respect for any characters nor the story. It's just about the $$$ and that's it. Nothing more, nothing less.
But meh, anyway, at this point is more than funny lol. It's just Pierrot being Pierrot tbh... Nothing good can be expected of that studio.
As for my next video, I'm planning on getting back to work on these somewhere in March.
Last year I've been caught up with a major life event so it really hindered my capacity to take care of everything that I wanted to do, but as I said, I'm planning on getting back to these.
It's just that I'll need to edit some things since I initially envisioned it in a certain way and there are certain changes that happened in the meantime, that kind of rendered some of the things I worked on obsolete, so I'm trying to adjust to that. But yeah, as soon as I have everything up and running again, I'll definitely start working on it.
And aah dear, don't worry, your question was not lame! Thank you for dropping into my inbox and for your wishes regarding Kaika!

okay, I’m not a gatekeeper. I swear I’m not. But I genuinely cannot help but be irked when I see a hinata fan latch themselves onto characters like Neji or Sasuke. Pretending like they ~totally~ understand their characters while also horribly misrepresenting them and characterizing them like they’re from a fanfiction. Talking about how noo sasuke would love hinata if he really got to know her! He’s just so cold and unfeeling that a character like hinata could really bring out a nice side to him!1!1!1 Neji is a victim of this too but in a slightly lesser degree as most hinata fans don’t bother to ship them openly as they’re related. But that won’t stop them from characterizing Neji as someone completely and utterly obsessed with hinata to the point he grovels at her feet and is possessive of her like a “big brother.” Because if hinata called him her big brother when he died then that totally makes them siblings! Who cares if neji considers himself that! Hinata said so1!11!1!
god I dunno. Maybe I’m just being selfish in the idea I just want hinata Stans to stay tf away from Neji and Sasuke because if you like hinata and her character, there is absolutely zero chance you will be able to understand Neji or Sasuke.
Well, I don't see an issue with liking a character by itself and proclaiming yourself a fan of the rest (I'm a big fan of Ino Yamanaka and Sasuke Uchiha, two characters that stand in opposite corners thematically), yet this can be sustained as long as we respect their canonical characterizations and understand that not everything about a character is "good" or has to be justified. As for the core of your complaint, I agree, as many of these arguments are sustained on the premise of giving Hinata more relevance (romantically or politically); something that she canonically does not possess and that neither of the two previously mentioned male characters are interested in giving her.
Hinata's sole purpose as a character was based on being Neji's polar opposite during his arc (the Chünin exams are relevant to Neji, not Hinata, who is a supporting character to him) and being Naruto's admirer on certain occasions. That's it, at no point was she even mentioned or observed by Sasuke, and any narrative weight she might have carried disappeared when Neji himself was no longer necessary for Naruto's growth.
Neji's problem isn't just with Hinata (I'm surprised to have to clarify something specifically mentioned in the manga and anime), but with the entire main Hyüga family; which is why his arc doesn't close until Hiashi (not Hinata), apologizes.
As for Sasuke, I wouldn't spend any more time thinking about it since the sole reason for his involvement lies in a desire for romantic reciprocity from the most attractive and powerful character in the manga (at the thought of an offspring with both Byakugan and Sharingan, despite the fact that the Sharingan is infinitely superior to the Byakugan). If with Neji's arc, Hinata possessed almost zero thematic relevance, with Sasuke - with whom she not only never interacts but in his eyes, she's part of the caste he seeks to eradicate, then her incidence is extremely nil.
I've never written a post about SasuHina/HinaSasu, and in part, I refuse because their canonical possibility really is nil, so there's nothing more to analyze than headcanons and fanfictions that have their own rules, which have little to do with Kishimoto's material.
Perhaps in the future, I'll dedicate a post to that pairing discussing some of its more famous theories; like how Hinata, being a character considered by the fandom as "sensitive", could understand and help Sasuke despite the fact that she was never seen comforting or trying to understand any character other than Naruto; going as far as to dismiss her cousin's emotions in order to put herself as a victim of the system on the same level as her cousin, whom her father enslaved.
Hinata being shy is not the same as her being "good" or "sensitive", Sakura used to be shy during her childhood and was bullied for it, yet Hinata stans don't usually consider Sakura to be a good person...
Here are some posts about Hinata and Neji's relationship:

Some of my favorite moments from the shadows house Manga and anime
(of course spoilers ahead)
Anyone who's seen my previous post about my head cannons for mistress Shirley and Rum will immediately know that these two are my favorite more specifically Rum as she is just the sweetest little thing ever in the show
Here are some of the reasons why she's just so precious
Her photographic memory
Her ability to calculate things in her head very quickly
She's so shy that she has to use her finger to talk to people
She's actually a bit more tan than the rest of the characters making her stand out from that alone
The manga makes it clear that the animal associated with her would be a rabbit/bunny
She's incredibly shy around new people but enjoys people like emilico who are very outgoing and who can stand up for her
She doesn't like being a burden to other people around her (pretty sure a lot of us can relate to that)
I really do think that if mistress Shirley survived the debut she would have been a lot like milico just holding on to Rum hugging her and squeezing her face as rum lets people do that to her
She's totally touch starved
When I went back and looked through the manga I noticed that I wasn't the only person who thought Rum was too precious to hurt, it seems like a lot of other characters know to be gentle with her
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For context about the scenes
Emilico pets Rum's hair in order to comfort her about her feelings about mistress Shirley and whether or not she deserves to save her during the debut
We never get to see this in the anime, but in the manga it's revealed that when Emilico and Rum first found the hut that had the orange tree in it rum was holding on to her dress the whole time and Emilico didn't seem to mind (it wouldn't surprise me if she told rum that it was okay for her to do that)
(Serious spoilers) During the chapter when they first meet Emilico, Shawn says close to the end of it that "the five of them will become close friends once they enter the house", and when he says that we see Lou putting her hand on Rum's back in a very gentle way as if to support her
(Serious spoilers) The last scene has Patrick patting Rum on the head as she looks like she's about to cry. Why let's just say him, Rum and Ricky were all yelled at by a mean Shadow causing them all to fly back in a cute anime style he pet her head in order to comfort her
And it's not just them being gentle with her it turns out many people also recognize her skills and compliment her for it
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(seems like my head Cannon about her becoming friends with the future debut members was actually true I mean look at Matilda asking her to become friends with her that's the sweetest thing ever)
I think these scene speak for themselves
But my favorite part about all of this is her relationship with Emilico as the manga reveals in future chapters that the reason why Rum even has a bow on her finger to begin with is because of her
Tumblr media
(Once again A Major spoilers but mostly for these two) for context, the name Rum and Rummy in the show come from a subconscious memory Rum has of her little toy bunny that she had back when she was in the village, the reason why she calls herself a Rum is because it comes from her old toys name… an old toy that just so happened to have a bow on its ear… the same bow that she now wears when we first met her, all the way up to the end of the debut. The lavender bow on Shirley's finger actually belonged to Rum before she entered the house (which explain the color she was given when she did enter the house)
This is one of the many reasons why I really love Rum, she is just a sweetheart of a character that just screams "MUST PROTECT!". I have a lot more head cannons for her than I do a Emilico or anybody else of this show, and I think it's because of the hidden potential they have with a character like her. They took full advantage of it and one of the earlier scenes and I hope they continue to do that. She's an underrated character with the most amount of potential for growth

Author's notes: I had many complications this week, sorry but I will finish your requests more slowly, sorry if I lose my initial regularity :(
Also, there's was something that I wanted to add: Please add the gender of the reader, it is important because I need to know if you want a male, female, non-binary or any other gender reader, it is important when converting it from my Spanish to English <3
Yandere! Bloodmoon! Shen x reader
Tumblr media
Yandere character: Shen From the videogame/movie/serie/manga/anime: League Of Legends Case: Kidnapping, childhood friends, small memory loss, mentions of bondage, unhealthy obsession, mention of a cult Part:1 of 1 Finished: Yes -
The night was full of stars, the streets are illuminated by decorations of stunning colors, and the people with a happy expression on their faces after so many years. It was no surprise for the cultist to see people being so happy that day, since he was also happy, and not because of the approaching event, it was because, finally his beloved returns home, returns to him and returns to their family roots, to the place where it belonged for so long.
Distant was the time when they lived next to him, where they danced together and they perceptively mocked the mistakes he made when dancing, when the dancer moved as freely as a bird fluttering its wings in the air.
He still has mind images of them when he first saw the dancer; beautiful and with a folk dance ropes. In his eyes, the dancer was a beauty, even for their young age, as they parents always put a lot of thought into their beauty, always trying to stand out at all times, and especially when they was going to act or dance.
He never knew when or how the dancer had become a close friend to him, since he was very shy around them, and had a hard time getting close to her to even greet them, but he did; He had achieved it, and he felt that it had been the best thing he had done in his entire life.
The dancer was always looking for him, looking to play with him and looking for a break from their busy life. Normally they both chased each other in the forest, or practiced different types of dance, the time they had spent together was such that it seemed unreal, given that he was the first friend they had; Their parents never accepted the fact that they had other friends, that the dancer sought to have their childhood in peace without their parents worrying about it, so the dancer ran away from their home almost daily to be able to see it.
It was obvious that they both developed a feeling for each other; love, and mainly a friendship that they thought would never be broken.
However, everything was never rosy, especially when Shen was told that his beloved dancer was going to leave.
He tried to stop the family of his dancer, telling them how much they meant to him, and even confessing his love for the dancer…, but it was too late; His precious dancer was too young to decide for their own life, and they was forced to leave what they always called home.
Years passed until they returned, when they did, he noticed that their best friend was not there, that person with whom they always dedicated to dancing and practicing the dance that normally was difficult for them was not there. When the dancer asked about him, everyone refused to give them an answer, saying that no one knew where the poor boy was with whom they danced so much and who enjoyed the little childhood they had.
And it was mainly their love for him that caused them to never forget the feeling they had when they found out the truth; when they found out that he had decided to join that horrific cult. To that group of people who constantly harms the entire town, many thought it was impossible, and even the person who told them said that she doubted if it was really him.
It was painful, very painful to think that by abandoning his friend he had caused him to go down the wrong path, to notice that, almost by accident, he had been forced to join the cult of the blood moon, and repeatedly nights he blamed themselves for those decisions he had taken.
And yet it was easy for him to find out when they returned for the first time, and searched every corner of the village for the dancer, that person with whom he tried as fervently to fall in love with him as the first time.
However, it was obvious that she was not going to react very well to this, since it was the same cultists who had murdered one of her great friends, she was always going to have that grudge buried deep in her heart. .
He knew that she was never going to forgive him, but that infatuation had escalated in such a way that even with the years he made him see her again, longing to touch her skin again, to see how she had grown And even if he gave her a opportunity to dance with her once again.
And when he met them again he couldn't help but smile, he couldn't stop thinking that they would remember him and that them would run to give him a hug, fill him with affection and remind him that they will always be in his heart, that they was always going to stay and that now no one was going to command their life and that they was going to be by his side until the end of them days.
However, once again his actions ended up working against them, and his dancer only saw him with fear, with terror and with anguish of knowing what he had become, in the decision that he had made from the moment he took a step inside the blood moon temple.
He did not stop repeating repeatedly what he had to do, what he was going to end up doing sooner or later, and what they was going to drive to madness; However on that route, it was very obvious that he had not took a second path, there was no deviation and much less a return.
He tried to force them into a hug, tried to get the dancer to talk to him, but not a single word that he expected from them came out of them, only a scream of fear came out of their mouth. They vocal cords seemed like they were going to end up damaged, and at the same time irritated the man's ears, even if he was confused it didn't take him long to realize why his dancer was having such a reaction.
He let them go, and almost instantly they escaped with all the energy they could muster in their legs, almost as if they wanted to simply disappear from the earth or teleport to a place completely away from him, and a scream from them — That seemed to call another man—was heard in the distance when his dancer was no longer in his range of vision.
That night, after a long time, almost for the first time in his life, he cried and collapsed under the temple, removing a mask from his face, removing that serious and almost emotionless personality from him. That part of him that sought so fervently to eliminate all traces of humanity, and eradicate those very human and sensitive feelings that lived in his heart.
It was terrible and horrendous, almost frightening, the feeling of knowing how his beloved dancer had treated him, even more knowing that it was her fault that they had reacted so badly, that the dancer had decided to simply reject him and walk away from him at full speed.
It was a memory that played in his mind for many nights, even for weeks he wondered what he had done wrong, what mistake he had made for them to make the decision to run as far away from him as possible, and why they had done so rejected in such a way that even running as far away from him as possible.
But, a memory appeared in his mind.
One that he had buried inside his chest, one that she thought he would never see again.
Two young people were walking in the middle of the forest, the illumination of the sun at midday allowed them to see clearly. The hurried steps of the youngest were the most heard due to the rustling of the leaves.
—Wait! I don't run as much as you!
The brown-haired young man was panting, air struggling into his lungs.
—Oh, come on! You seriously can't stand anything!
The dancer seemed almost unattainable with so little fatigue in an entire tour, especially when they had barely left their house after a long hour of training.
—I can't keep up with you, you just finished training, shouldn't you rest for a second?
—We're almost there, stop being a complainer.
The young man snorted in protest, his legs shaking but stiff from the amount of road they had traveled. The amount of miles they had traveled together was too much even for someone like him, yet the dancer seemed so excited that they ignored the pain in their legs or the fatigue in their body.
It was almost a miracle when the dancer took his hand, excited and jumping for joy.
—We are already close! —The dancer, almost unconsciously jumping with big steps, highlighting a dazzling smile in every second of their jumps.
The dancer looked as happy as always, but while he dragged his partner to the long mountain which they crossed with a path highlighted by the separation of stones and the grass without existing on that path.
—Are you going to tell me where we're going?
—Just walk!
It took them only three minutes to climb the small mountain in front of them.
Upon reaching the top, the little girl looked over the trees, and mainly, a small path where there was a large group of people.
The young woman took the hand of her companion, her free hand pointing to the people on the path.
—Look! It's there! —She shouted, excited —, they are professional dancers.
Both children looked at the group in front of them, and Shen couldn't help but feel somewhat confused.
—Did we come here just to watch a group of dancers go to their next destination? —The boy asks —, are you serious?
The dancer just looked at they partner again, before snorting, angrily.
—Aren't you looking? It means that there will be an event soon.
Shen had already been notified of the event, but they found such things incredible. The few times they left the house were thanks to the fact that they had found someone with whom they could share that enthusiasm for the world.
Shen could say something, but they just decided to look away and return their attention to the dancers and their path.
—They are so… incredible —The dancer mentions, a gasp of admiration comes out of them —, I wish I could participate in events like that.
They young friend, faced with this, only decided to look at them again, a question was formulated in his mind, almost immediately resulting in a question that was asked for them.
—When you grow up you want to be like them, I have to imagine—Shen mentions, before turning his attention to the path that the dancers were walking, now empty. —, you will travel the world, you will have many admirers, and many things, you know?
At this, the dancer, offended, looks at him again, pushing his shoulder lightly with his small hand.
—I don't want to be like them—The dancer responds angrily.
—Hey? why not? —He asks, curious.
—Because it would mean being away from you.
The young man's heart raced, before he just refused to look the dancer in the eyes, a slight blush on his face.
—Shen, I have to tell you something.
The dancer moved fluidly towards him, managing to position in front of him.
—What happen?
—If one day I ever leave, I want you to know that I won't do it on my own —The dancer begins their explanation—, my parents always insist that I have to go out into the world, dance and explore the whole world, but I want to stay here, with you. .
The young man's blush spread even more, but now he just stared at the young dancer, happily.
—So, if I try to leave here, do whatever it takes to stop me, okay? —The dancer asked, firmly taking his hands —. No matter what happens, I want us to be together no matter what.
At this, he nodded, a protective feeling rising deep in his chest, but stronger now.
That memory had triggered everything, and it wasn't long before he came to, noticing what he had in his arms.
The dancer moved with fear, their back arching as their hands clasped around his wrists caused a feeling of sorrow deep in his heart.
He realized that he had slipped out of himself, and now he had his precious dancer, beneath him, sobbing as they body trembled violently, trying to escape the deep grip he exerted.
—I see you did it —A voice echoed behind him.
Hearing his footsteps in the barely lit room only reminded him of the mistake he had made.
—I didn't think I would be capable of this, after all, you were the closest of all of us to stripping you of your humanity. —the hooded man mentioned, without removing his white mask with reddish details.
The man leaned against the old wood, between his fingers a deck of cards which he manipulated with such ease that he resembled an artist manipulating a paintbrush.
—However, I want you to be clear about one thing.
The bodyguard looked serious, his mask marked that lack of humanity, which was never going to be removed in the face of another cultist, or demon.
—You have permission to keep it, but if you betray us —The man threw a white card on a dark wood, rubbing against Shen's mask.
The letter passed through a beetle with ease, managing to split its body with a single attack.
—Don't think you'll have another chance.
The hooded man withdrew, his footsteps soon disappeared into the darkness, while leaving the clear sign that there was not a single human person in that temple.
There wasn't a single human person there, least of the dancer.
The dancer who was condemned to dance with their only and most fearsome dance partner.
