sometimes i think about undyne’s death in a neutral route and i

holy HECK her death is Messed Up. the. the obvious desperation as she struggles to hold on, her slowing down each time you hit her, the slow sad music, “undyne is smiling as if nothing is wrong”, her body literally slowly  turning to dust through the whole sequence, and ESPECIALLY the ending bit where she’s crying out desperately “I WON’T DIE, I WON’T DIE, I WON’T DIE, I WON’T-” while her body is melting, her voice slowing down until she truly turns to dust. her last words a desperate cry to cling onto life

SO much worse than any of the other deaths in this game NOT GONNA LIE #its genuinely horrifying the way she clings so desperately as she's dying #you can tell she's fading through the whole thing and yet she clings to life #screaming she WON'T DIE as she finally passes #it's so COMPLETELY different than in the nm route #in the nm route she completely reforms herself when you kill her #and when she finally does die she does it with a smile #knowing that she bought the other monsters time to evacuate #the whole atmosphere in That fight is her determination and optimism #but in a neutral route its just.... sad and depressing #in the neutral route she's determined to live. but not determined enough to truly do so #her body melts before she turns to dust #where in the nm route she Knows that if she doesn't stop you #terrible things would happen #and she's even More determined #not just for herself to live #but for everyone else to live as well #and that's enough to save her #at least until you kill her again
