My absolute favorite trait about Dick aside from his craziness is his ability to control every single person in existence. The best part is, he's so clever in the way that he does it that people almost never notice.

Bart knows!! Dick's brilliantly sly okay. Honey catches more flies that vinegar? He takes it so far that breaks he the ceiling with it because by the time he's done, people don't even know they've been manipulated. And if they do, then what can they do about it? He always wins.

With friends and family he does it to make them feel better without being so overt and discomforting them.

Jon came to him when he was feeling lost and upset and Dick set up the perfect conditions to encourage him and pick him up. He's just so good at doing what he's doing but he does it for all the right reasons.

But the extent Dick can go trick and manipulate someone is off the charts. A virtuoso.

In a Titans comic, Dick literally spent MONTHS acting depressed and weak after Donna, Wally, and Garth were kidnapped to another dimension by a villain just so he could trick the villain into thinking that his career was over and bring him into the same dimension so Dick could take him down.

He fooled everyone.

He planned, pretended, and calculated every single fiber of his own mind and body until the whole world was fooled by his acting. He tricked an interdimensional being who had psychic access. That means he was so extraordinarily manipulative, he can control his own thoughts inside his head to trick someone else. Voldemort's legilimens has nothing on Dick's talent.

His acting is just so on point that he outschemes the schemer.

When the Crime Syndicate (Superwoman, Ultraman, Owlman, Power ring, etc) arrive on Earth to take it over when Dick is Batman, Dick needs to do something fast. But to make things worse, there's a being that's so powerful, that both the Crime Syndicate and Justice League combined have a snowball's chance in hell of defeating him.

So what does Dick do? He runs the game.

I love how they characterized Owlman as a snake because that would make Dick a mongoose since mongoose eats snakes. And do you know what Mongoose represent in folklore? Action, adventure, boldness, fearlessness, impulsiveness, independence, optimism, rebellion, resistance, resourcefulness, speed, adaptation, agility, quickness, intelligence and wit. All characteristics that define him.

He plays the world like a chessboard, always five steps ahead.

He always has an ace hidden up his sleeve.

His thoughts are always masked behind a disarming smile.

He has mastered the art of manipulation.

And that's while he's outright fighting. His subtlety is just so seductive.

He's the spy everyone on TV wishes they could be. He's the type of spy people read about in history books and marvel at the ease, grace, and legendary story he leaves behind. He's the spy that everyone knows and dreams of in their fantasies.

There's a reason why Batman's only contingency plan against Nightwing is "Let's hope he fucks up." Because with his intelligence, skill, power, charisma, and raw talent - he's goddamn unstoppable.

I genuinely think one of the best Harley’s I’ve seen recently (IMO of course) is the Gotham Knight’s Harley. So let me rant about her.

One of my favourite things of upfront is that she’s clearly not that young. That might sound weird but lemme explain. One of my biggest pet peeves about comics, is female characters who are supposed to be the same age as a male character, yet they look like they’re 20 whilst that male character looks age appropriate. In every Harley adaptation, she is canonically supposed to be the same age as Bruce and yet… If you pick up any modern comic with the two characters, Bruce looks late 40s, early 50s (which he is) yet Harley looks to be in her 20s. It’s gotten to the point where I’m not surprised if people do think Harley is supposed to be decades younger because of this, which is just sad. In Gotham Knights, she looks the same age as Bruce and still has a great design and characterisation. She isn’t a grandma, but she also isn’t a college student. It makes sense in the story since this is an older Batman, and the story is late in his career when he already has a full Batfamily and Harley’s already left the Joker. No way could a 30-year-old Batman have done all of this yet, so he’s not 30, he’s middle aged and so is Harley. It’s a weird thing to bring up I guess, but I appreciate a story about a Batman whose career has literally ended, having a Harley who clearly isn’t 20, and is still written amazingly.

The next thing I love about her is she’s not an anti-hero. Here’s the thing, I don’t mind Harley being an anti-hero, she’s a character who since the beginning was always written to he sympathetic and redeemable so her becoming an anti-hero and even allies with Batman himself is fine in most comics (as long as they don’t just skip straight to that point) but I do miss Harley being a villain, as it’s just a fun thing to see the character do. This is a late career Batman story, so she is no longer with the Joker which is great but, she’s also not an anti-hero saving the day, she’s still a villain but is no longer bound by the Joker and is free to do things her own way. Her schemes are both chaotic, funny but also scary, making her a real threat whilst also not making her as evil as the Joker. She’s fun in the way you don’t really mind she’s being a nuisance, unlike the Joker who is fun in the way that you want it to be over if that makes any sense.

Another thing I love is her relationships with the team. It’s clear from dialogue with the Batfamily that she and Batman have a friendship, reminding me of the old Batman the Animated Series episodes where Harley and Batman were allies. She was still a villain in those episodes, but she ended up doing the right thing and was genuine in her attempts to help Batman. Here’s its very similar, even though we never actually see Harley meet with Bruce, we know from how she speaks of him that she is on good-terms with him, and has been his ally for a while even though she is villainous. This just comes down to preference, but I much prefer a Harley Quinn who will enact a villainous plan, but also genuinely help Batman with his vigilante stuff over a Harley who completely reforms and just becomes a shitty “hero” who is like a Wish version of Deadpool. This Harley seems genuinely upset that Batman is dead, and not in the way “Oh, I have nobody to play with” but in the “Oh, my friend is gone” kinda way. Her relationship with the titular Gotham Knights is less developed despite it being assumed she has faced them before, yet it’s still there. Her dialogue with Red Hood is best out of all the Knights as he is genuine when he talks to her about her help, and she is genuine when she talks to him. No trickery, no unspoken anger between them. Just two people genuinely trying to help each other, even if Harley is planning a comeback behind the scenes, her conversation with Red Hood is genuine and heartfelt. Even after being captured she compliments the Knights and tells them they will do good following in Batman’s footsteps.

I also think her plan is rather dumb but in the good way. It’s very comic-booky without being too stupid that it’s just annoying or too serious/realistic that it doesn’t suit a superhero game. It’s the right amount of camp AND suits Harley. A mistake I see a lot with Harley being a villain, is her plans just being things the Joker would do, but now it’s Harley doing that. Maybe for an early-career Harley who just broke up with the Joker sure, it makes sense her plans would just copy his without her own personal flair, but if that Harley has been without the Joker for a while, but her plan is literally just something he’d do exactly the same, it’s stupid. She’s not the Joker, she needs her own style to be part of her plans or it’s just a Genderbent Joker. In Gotham Knights, the plan is similar to something Joker would do. Harley brainwashing civilians to become reckless, deranged and dangerous on paper is something a Joker would do, but it’s in the execution. If this was the Joker, he would spray laughing gas on a crowd, and the crowd would have deformed Joker smiles on their faces as they went nuts. Harley though, she uses her psychology degree and her own brains to convince people they need to feel safer, and then those pills make people reckless and insane. The way it’s shown too, it kind of implies Harley meant no harm from it, and it was just so she would have fun with a bunch of people like a party I guess. The issue is, these people aren’t in control of themselves and their bravery and lack of fear means they have no issue doing dangerous stunts that will kill them. It’s villainous for sure, but fine with good intentions. She’s not an anti-hero, just a fun villain.

Her design, admittedly isn’t the best, I don’t like the bob she has in her main Harley design BUT I think this is the best casual Harley design. Most of the time a casual Harley outfit is just Harley in a themed outfit that isn’t her costume but is similar, like Harley in a red and black jacket and pants. Sure it’s casual, but when Harley is out in public doing normal things, or just lounging around at home is she going to be wearing a full face of clown makeup and a tactical, high-quality red and black jacket? I doubt it. In this game, I LOVE her casual outfit. It’s just her hair up in her signature pigtails, a white tank top with scribbles all over it, some prison pants and some red and black slippers. Yes there’s elements of Harley, which is good, but it’s not what she would wear whilst fighting the Justice League just like how her jester outfit isn’t what she’d wear whilst binge watching some show on Netflix whilst on her couch. I can tell who it is from the design, and her own personal touches add so much character to her. She’s drawn Batman on her shirt, she’s clearly very crafty as shown from her hideout and makeshift outfit with the torn up sleeves and the scribbles and doodles all over her clothes. I genuinely prefer her casual outfit over her fighting clothes, but it’s just so fitting for her, and I love this Harley sm.

We barely see a late-career Harley Quinn but this is exactly what I imagined and I’m glad with how she came out in this game. Everything about her works so well, and my only complaints are small nitpicks not minor issues. I want more of her and I adore her character.

Your attention the whole day was on Shuri and that african-american girl she apparently saved. She hadn't even spent an hour with you this day because of how she clung onto 'Riri' the whole time.

How upsetting.

Yeah, yeah, Shuri had to protect the girl. But was she that into protecting the girl to the point she can't even spike up a conversation with you anymore? You were practically being taunted by their echoing laughter inside the laugh.

God you almost wanted to tear off your ears from its place.

It's not like that girl isn't capable of protecting herself after all. She has the brains to protect herself. She even created a whole Walmart version of Iron Man(no offense) for goodness sakes.

You rolled your eyes with a scoff when you hear Riri laughing at something Shuri says, tearing your eyes away from them. Okoye, who was standing beside you the whole time only looks at you unamused.

"This is a whole new side of you, (name)." She perks up. You peaked a glance at her direction, puffing out your cheeks childishly. At least someone still wanted to talk to you.

"I don't get what you mean."

Okoye gave you her usual taunting look, acting as of she was oblivious as well. "You're normally a laid back type of girl, but today.. You're scoffing, rolling your eyes, muttering and huffing alot." Okoye states.

You scoffed, waving your hand dismissively. "It's nothing."

"You just did it again."

"Did what?"

"Scoff."

"I don't scoff."

"You do, and you just did."

"It's a habit."

"Right.." Okoye hums, not believing every word you're saying. She looked at the direction the Queen and Riri was, raising her brows at the scene, and then back at your sulking aura.

"Oh my.. is the tough, cool, laid back (name) jealous?" Okoye taunts, a big grin etching on her pretty face. Her spear remains next to her as she leaned closer to your face, watching as your reaction looked as if you were mortified.

"Jealous?! God, no. Ew." You hurriedly refused, shaking your head at the atrocious idea. You and jealous dont go well at all.

Okoye only looks at you dumbfoundedly with her brow still raised, her expressions practically screaming 'yeah right' in a taunting way.

"Seeing new versions of you is certainly entertaining." Okoye states, only getting on your nerves even more now. You irked at her, and suddenly the air was hot.

"I'm glad you think I'm entertaining."

"Oh no, not you. just the other personalities that we rarely see."

You let out a frustrated sigh. Okoye snickered at your frustration, leaning on the counter behind her. "You don't have to hide yourself, (name). Almost everyone on the Dora Milaje practically knows your feelings for the Queen."

"What feelings? Were just friends."

The general scoffs at that, shaking her head at you stubbornness. "Yeah, you've got somethings to figure out, huh? Goodluck on that." She snarked, spinning her spear before taking her leave, leaving you standing alone dumbfoundedly.

What was she on about? There was certainly nothing going on between you and the Queen. If something were, you're sure you would have just jumped off a cliff. You'd rather bring your feelings to the grave than make a literal embarrassment out of yourself.

Your gaze then went back to Shuri and Riri, seeing how they were still talking and certainly looked like they weren't stopping anytime soon. You blew raspberries, grabbing your own spear that laid on the white counter and walked away. Away from the sight of those two together.

It was almost dark out and Shuri haven't been able to talk to you yet. It seemed like you were avoiding her for some reason. Had she done something wrong? You looked upset when she came to greet you a hello earlier.

Okoye practically makes a face as the Queen continued to harshly drag a pencil on the table.

"Is something bothering you, Shuri?"

The said girl nods her head hurriedly at that, immediately dropping the pencil with a loud sound. "(name)'s been avoiding me, and she looks upset whenever I go near her. I saw that you two were talking with eachother earlier, so I assume you know." Shuri rambles.

Okoyes brows raised, surprised at the fast pace of speaking. "..Yes, the girl is upset.. and yes, we were talking earlier.. and yeah.. I do know why she's acting that way—"

"Why?"

Okoye hummed unsurely. Should she just say? If she does, you'd probably come storming towards her with your spear, looking like an angry bull ready to pounce.

"Well.."

"Well?" Shuri imitates, impatient.

"She was upset about how you weren't talking to her anymore. And by upset, I mean jealous." The general spills. Shuri pauses for a moment, letting the woman's words in her sink in.

"She's jealous? That doesn't sound like her."

"That's what I said as well. She doesn't like how you've been with Riri more often, that's all I know. I've said too much." The general mutters the last part, disappointed that she couldn't keep your small secret to herself for even a single day.

"...are you sure we're talking about the same person..?" Shuri questioned. Whatever the general was talking about didn't sound like you at all. What happened to the cool, laidback (name)?

"Yes. She said it to me herself, even I was surprised. But you didn't hear this from me, okay?" Okoye hissed, giving the queen an fierce 'understand me?' Look.

The Queen nods, unsure of what to do. But now, she has to try and find you to confront you about what you were upset with. Or shall she say, jealous.

Shuri finally finds you in the gardens, seeing you just standing over the flowers with the most bored look she's ever seen. She might be very tired right now, but she could've sworn she heard you talking to the soft colored petals.

"Hi."

You swiftly stood up, a surprised look on your face at the sudden sound of a familiar voice. "Shuri? Hi!" You greeted at an unnecessarily loud volume. Yes, you were in fact talking to the flowers. If the Queen heard you, you might as well just drop down on the ground right now.

"I noticed you've been ignoring me." And at the Queen's words, your mood drastically changed. You looked at her blankly, as if remembering her actions earlier.

"Oh yeah."

Shuri slightly tilts her head at that, unsure of what to say. "..so, is that a yes about you ignoring me..?"

"Yeah."

The Queen was amused by your straight-forwardness. She let's a smug and amused grin show on her face, looking at you up and down. "Okoye told me why."

"She did?," You perked up, and the as if a light switch just flicked inside you, you realized what she said. "She what?!" You incredulously yelled. Shuri chuckles at your shock, noticing you slowly begun to feel an embarrassed furiousity.

"I've got to say, jealousy somehow doesn't fit you, but it is amusing." The Queen states, watching as you looked at her in annoyance.

"If you're here to pick on me, then I'm gonna go take my leave." You huffed, gripping on your spear with annoyance. Shuri stops you from walking away, looking at you apologetically.

"I'm just kidding around. Please don't leave, I'm not here to pick on you." She pleads. You hummed, pleased by her change of persona.

"Go on."

"I get why you're jealous, and I'm sorry. But I promise you, I won't do that shit ever again. You're the only one for me, (name)."

"You make it sound like we're together." You mentioned, completely unserious of the situation. Shuri looks at you, confused. "We aren't?" She questioned, raising a brow.

Your whole body stopped momentarily, letting her words sink into your thick skull. "What's that supposed to mean..?" You hissed, flustered. Shuri let's a coy smile form on her face.

"I'm saying I like you."

Your jaw dropped slightly, not believing your ears. The Queen of Wakanda, is out here, confessing her feelings for you like it's nothing.

Shuri steps closer to you, looming over your slightly shorter form. "You don't have to respond to my confession now, I completely understand, but I just wanted you to know about my feelings."

"I'll understand if you don't reciprocate my feelings, but im done pretending like my feelings for you don't exist. I like you, (name), not her. Not Riri. I wouldn't dare replace you with her after all the things we've been through together."

You felt like the air in your lungs had been knocked out. Shuri had just spilled her feelings out for you and you could barely react. You were speechless, you didn't know how to react.

You can't even figure out your own feelings yet, how do you respond.

Seeing your pressured expressions, Shuri gives you a reassuring look, grabbing your attention once again by holding your hand with her own. "You can think about it, 'kay?"

You only stood still. Shuri let's go of your hand, although she was disappointed, she couldn't force yourself to respond to her sudden confession. She turns around, beginning to walk away.

You wanted to reach out to her hand when she began walking away from you. You wanted to hold her hand and tell her your feelings as well. You wanted to tell her you like her.

But you can't.

everyone has different interpretations of scenes, but for real that scene with jamie and roy was just plain sexist. roy seriously said "i don't know if we're getting back together because she's a woman and you never know". like what the absolute fuck was that line? they showed up to her house condescending, completely unapologetic about their behaviour, and treated her like a trophy prize. she deserved to beat them up. jamie and roy have always been troubled characters, but they were never (not even in season one) sexist assholes. the show went out of its way multiple times to establish that even when they made mistakes it was due to personal insecurity and not misogyny.

and whenever it was something misogynistic, it was heavily criticised as such, which, in this episode, it was not. a lot of people did seriously not catch the blatant sexism of it at all and went "that's how these men act" (again, what the fuck?). jamie spent season three being respectful of roy and keeley's breakup and not making a move on her, out of consideration of roy's feelings. roy, who knows how abusive jamie's father is, probably better than any other male character on the show, physically assaulted him. despite the fact that throughout the season roy has been approaching jamie with affection, realizing that's what he needs to feel secure (complete disrespect to 2x08 too, one of the best episodes of the series). and while we're on the topic of violence, roy and jamie were never this violent with each other, even when they hated each other's guts. jamie, who gave keeley a truly heartfelt apology about the leaked video, making a point to not victim-blame or engage in literally ANY other sexist behaviour, just brings it up to upset roy in a dick-measuring contest. and one episode ago, one fucking episode ago, they were all getting along, keeley and roy were obviously trying to get back together, and jamie wasn't one bit bothered by it. they were holding hands on his bed and he saw them and smiled! regardless of whether you think the roykeeley arc was rushed (i do), jamie might have been heartbroken or sad, but he wasn't, not once, established as jealous of them. and this entire season was devoted to roy and jamie becoming friends by slowly growing comfortable around each other and actually trusting each other. every single one of those things was thrown into the trash. and yeah, sure, progress isn't linear and perfection isn't possible for people, but that WAS NOT regression. roy and jamie were never sexist dicks. those were two completely different characters.

ALSO, this scene normalizes the idea that it's perfectly forgivable to revert back to sexism whenever emotionally distressed, even if you are generally not like that in your life. it's not. in reality, you're either sexist or you're not, and doing this in one scenario will absolutely mean that you will be sexist in different scenarios too. nobody in real life will be sexist in some areas of their life and feminist in others. implying that this isn't the case shows a very poor understanding of feminist theory and ted lasso has more or less done a good job at not being sexist. i feel like this really excuses unacceptable behaviour that the show itself tells us, with rupert particularly, has very real consequences that perpetuate violence against women. to me, the light-hearted resolution of that whole scene was terrible and poorly written at best. people in the writers' room typed that scene, read through it, and did not find it weird at all. though it's not the first time in the third season, see: forgiving jamie's dad and far-right bigots (???).

and lastly, when people were asking for a love triangle resolution, they meant something fitting for the year of our lord 2023. healthy communication and conversations, mutual respect and love between the charactets, maybe even polyamory (3x11 had a great ot3 set up, too). nobody meant we wanted something from the fucking 1950s. literally the only worse way this could have played out would have been if keeley ended up with the one that caused the other more damage. legit disgraceful ending for roy and jamie as characters, and for the show as well. considering everything it has stood for so far.

(i'm sorry if this reads like i'm calling people out, i'm not, really, i'm just very mad. and also really sad, because i did not go into the ted lasso finale expecting unaddressed sexism. like that was Really Very Bad. for this show especially).

woahhh there's a lot going on here, anon. For anyone wondering, I'm assuming this is a response to this post of mine. While I don't mind discussion or being called out... this does feel like something that could've very well been your own post or an open response to mine instead of an anon note. Because if you've read my meta, you'll probably already know I'm not going to agree with you on this.

Just gonna drop a few short thoughts because I don't have energy to write a think piece when my broader thoughts are already contained in my original post:

I'm not sure where you think I was trying to excuse their words or pretending they weren't being sexist or like they weren't treating Keeley as a weapon in their own games or a prize to be won. I think there's a difference between excusing someone's actions versus trying to understand where they were coming from for the characters and where they are at now.

"while we're on the topic of violence, roy and jamie were never this violent with each other, even when they hated each other's guts" Roy & Jamie were literally beating each other up in the locker room and brawling right out there on the pitch in season 1, anon.

"Keeley and Roy were obviously trying to get back together, and Jamie wasn't one bit bothered by it." this is just not true. Roy was trying to get back together with Keeley. Keeley wasn't shown to be reciprocal (beyond sleeping with him, which is a repeated pattern of behavior for her on the show, and something she in fact did with Jamie in season one), and Roy misinterprets it, as Jamie misinterpreted it. In fact, I'd argue Roy deciding it was a good idea to try and make him and Keeley happen right there in Jamie's bedroom with Jamie crying to his mum one room over, shows he wasn't thinking about Jamie, not when it comes to Keeley. Roy wants what Roy wants and he assumed he was going to get it. And Jamie went through a whole journey of expressions when he opened that bedroom door, so I don't think it's fair to say he "wasn't one bit bothered." I think we've established at this point Roy and Jamie both love Keeley and have always been weird and jealous about it with the other.

The narrative was not that this is okay or acceptable behavior. I definitely didn't see the scene as light-hearted

"nobody in real life will be sexist in some areas of their life and feminist in others." i am a woman who considers herself very much a feminist. That doesn't mean I've never had moments of internalized misogyny or made harmful comments that buy into a patriarchal narrative, despite myself. Well-intentioned people make mistakes. We are all works in prog-mess trying to get through life as the best people we can be. Jamie and Roy, in my opinion, are fictional iterations of the same principle. I don't think this comes even close to destroying their entire characters in the way you are implying.

Hi Skippy.. I reached my turning point tonight.. We talk the past two years about the RF but tonight I want to talk about sm else.. I'm almost 40 successful without children.. Tonight I had ppl of my inner cycle attacking to me because I do not have children and why I should speak my opinion as long as I do not have children and I should stay in my place and do not speak. Everyone showed me their backs (literally) and stop looking at me because I had not right to speak according to them. I helped each and everyone financially and become the godmother of their children (not all of them). But just like that they erased everything and started telling me that as long as I don't have children I should sthut up and talk again when I have one.. We were out for dinner and I stayed as strong as I could keeping my sadness away from the children.. I was crying from the minute I left the pub (until now). We don't worth anything? We chose a different path from the other women, we chose our carrier. Does this make us useless?? Although we have succeed in many levels? I'm really so disappointed.. Why would someone say that? We sacrifice many things that none of them can understand. How can they insult sm like that? I'm deeply disappointed. I went outside for a drink and came back crying. Why should I abandone my work when when many of them think like that? Why did they even chose me for their godmother when they had these feelings? For the money?? As long as we pay it's OK as long as we do not speak?? A hyenas nest would be safer I think.. Sorry for the rant. Don't post it if you don't want to.. I'm completely devistated..

Hi! I am so sorry you were put in such an unpleasant situation. I decided to post, as sometimes anons have the best insight. Hey, not everyone wants children, some want them and can’t have them. Some have them…and even regret it. We are all different. I had tried for 10 yrs before I was blessed with my daughter. During those ten years, whenever someone asked me about having children…I would say….”nope, don’t want any”. I just didn’t think it was anyone’s business. My sister chose not have children. She had her personal reasons for that choice. I would always support her decision. I have great respect for someone that can acknowledge they don’t want children. Your life, your choice. It’s really that simple.

Your group sounds defensive. Sure, there are some things a non parent might not “get”….but for the most part it’s not difficult to figure things out…parent or not. Your opinion is important. Every single person has a right to be heard. You have things to contribute, and you deserve the respect to do so. You have done nothing to deserve this treatment. I think sometimes jealousy rears its ugly self. They may have the children, but they don’t have the career, the freedom that you have, or the financial security either. This was them one upping you. This was them trying to feel important. I doubt very much it was personal. It isn’t about you, but the reality they see, that they don’t have.

Children, no children. One of those topics on the long list of don’t say anything…..vaccinated…unvaccinated. Biden….Trump…Covid real…Covid fake. You can’t please everyone. I do think you really need to talk this out with those “friends”…not in a group…but one on one, privately. Tell them how you feel, how they hurt you. They may very well have no clue. They are likely so wrapped up in their own worlds, they never thought of your feelings.

Don’t be upset. You made your choice for YOU. You have that right. There is no wrong or right when one decides to have or not have children. It is a very personal decision. You have every right to speak up, but do it respectfully. Be careful of your wording so no one takes offense. That is the same they should do for you. Start off with something like….”I don’t have children but….this is what I see”…you can teach each other…we all teach each other, if we listen….

I find it interesting you note Amphibia to push the envelope more than the TOH since I've seen others consider the latter to push more into serious topics and tones than the former. I've seen some people point to Luz's depressed state in the 1st S3 special as to how 3A Anne should have been written, but I feel like people ignore whether what works for one character would really fit for a very different character, even withstanding the series differences.

i mean, luz is someone who loved her life in the demon realm and hated her home, whereas anne loves her home and certainly did not go to amphibia by choice, so there was a part of her that was clearly just happy to be back with her family, even if she knew that she had to return. but it's not like anne wasn't shown to be stressed and upset, we see that she spends as much time as physically possible trying to build a portal back to amphibia. i enjoyed luz's depression though, i don't mean to undermine that.

and yeah, i can obviously see why people say the owl house explores more serious topics, i just happen to disagree? i don't really know how to explain it, but i feel like the owl house sort of... lacks nuance? it's a show that's really good for kids and i'm glad it exists and have nothing against it, but it's not a show that particularly concerns itself with moral ambiguity (i can only assume the horror show that dana terrace initially wanted to create would have been more complex in that regard). like, amity is a mean girl, but she's pretty harmless and almost immediately shown to be sympathetic. hunter gets compared to zuko a lot, but we never actually see him do anything particularly bad, and he's sympathetic and redeemable and morally pure for most of his screentime. eda is an outlaw but we never actually see her commit serious crimes, she's literally the most ethical and morally upstanding character in the show. even lilith really only made one mistake her whole life and spent the rest of it trying to make up for it. i think there's potential for the collector to be interesting as a completely amoral entity, as opposed to belos who is pure evil in every possible way, but i'll guess we’ll see.

but what i love about amphibia is that anne, sasha, and marcy are all deeply, realistically flawed. after watching the first episode i literally turned around to my brother and said to him, "oh i love anne already. i love that she's mean." what makes anne such a better character than luz (in my humble opinion) is that anne consistently makes bad choices due to her many, many flaws. while luz goes around making friends through helping people out of the goodness of her heart, anne has to be forced kicking and screaming into doing any kind of work for the betterment of anyone else. anne is a friendly and caring person with a big heart, but she's also selfish, lazy, entitled, petty, impulsive, careless, irresponsible and ungrateful. so when we see her grow over the course of the show into someone who doesn't hesitate to help others, it feels significant because we've seen every step of her journey of personal growth. sasha and marcy, while given less screentime, are also characters whose flaws are established and challenged over the course of the show. but i think the fact that anne isn't a perfect person by any means is what makes the show work so well. luz being depressed for half an episode is quite literally the most interesting thing she's ever done, meanwhile anne was out here fucking up left and right, nearly getting her adopted family killed every other episode because she wanted to adopt a cat or eat a pizza.

i'm not saying the owl house is bad because its characters aren't morally grey, but personally, i have absolutely no investment in it or its characters, whereas i still find myself thinking at least once a day "oh god it's crazy how good sashanne is" even though the show ended like a year ago. amphibia also has multiple instances of cannibalism, suicide, and an entire episode parodying midsommar even though there's absolutely no way any of the children watching that episode got the reference (i had to explain it to my brother). i wouldn't call either show dark or nuanced, but amphibia definitely feels darker and more nuanced than the owl house. to me, at least.

Season 3 Episode 5 Thoughts

I have to start out by saying that this episode had such a high impact on me that I literally was not able to write these notes until the next day… So yeah that should explain a lot about how great this episode was

Let’s start off with sassy Gina. I think it is so fantastic how much she is using little comments and remarks to get back to EJ. It reminds me a lot of the last episode and how he was making little side remarks against Ricky. It’s almost like her subconscious way of showing him what he was doing to Ricky when he was mad. She was going to lash back the same

CARLOS’ NAILS I LOVE SM

Ricky breaking the 4th wall again by making eye contact with the camera 😭 pls

Also why does it make so much sense that Carlos was literally the only person to pull off the drama stunt with the rest of the cast? Like he really understands what makes good tv and I love that for him

Also the writing in this episode was 😙👌🏻 it was funny, romantic, dramatic, confusing and fast and everything else. It kept you on your toes and felt engaging every step of the way. The writers REALLY stepped up their game this season and it’s making the season feel whole and complete. I think some other story lines could be slightly more fleshed out but with the time constraints they had it was still done well

Kourtney saying “RCOSL” and Carlos getting annoyed gives me the same vibe as London and Mosby with the “PRNDL”

The fact that Gina said she CANT improvise and then she was asked to improvise in WDYKAL tells me it might not have been improv at all. She wasn’t improvising, she was acting out in vengeance. Which remembered what happened last time she couldn’t improvise and acted out instead? Mr Elton John got a drink dumped on his head at the dance in S1

And I LOVE that there is a water dumping parallel when Gina gets “upset” at Kourtney over her lines and gets to throw it again

I don’t know if this was supposed to be taken as a funny thing or not… But I find it really interesting that Ricky needed to lay down when Jet and Maddox were yelling so much of each other? It seemed like he was almost having some flashbacks to things that made him upset and his anxiety started to heighten reliving that trauma over again? Because not only did his parents fight like this but he also fought with Nini like this… it just seems like a trauma response for him to literally shut down so I’m not surprised he felt the need to lay down during all of that

But also on a lighter note it’s so funny how the kids are all yelling and everything is serious and then Carlos gets completely caught up on EJ not being Eric Junior and Ricky missing everything to yell about Maddox and jet being siblings completely out of context help 😭😭

And ok I’m not going to go TOO in on this because it’s been discussed a lot but there has been a lot of discussion around Ricky having regression (which is not true at all… look at other posts about this to get more context), but isn’t it interesting that Gina says OUTLOUD, “this is what the old Ej would do”. She is literally pointing out that him not being honest and hiding himself is a form of him regressing as a character. I’m really interested to see how the writers bring him out of this

I saw someone post about Ricky saying when you can’t find the words you just sing instead might be him hinting at singing Kristoffs lullaby and I LOVE THIS SM. But also I can’t tell what I would love more? If he is singing this off in a distance and pining at Gina or singing it to her 😭 both would be beautiful tbh

Bu that aside lmao I love this song. It’s implications with the kids around him and him looking with admiration at younger Maddox says a lot about their relationship. He just wants what is best for her through his actions and it showed so poorly. He feels so much regret even though he wanted to do everything right. Just a lot of misunderstanding and heart ache which I think sums up a lot of the relationships in this season as well

Ok who tf is EJ calling? I think it’s easy to assume it’s his dad but I don’t know that that is actually who he is calling and why? Is it to leave? Create more drama? Heal something that he feels or needs to be healed? I’m just very curious about who might be coming

Here's the teen titans (from teen titans go specifically) rated from most to least likely to trauma dump

1. Robin, he has told the teen titans his dramatic backstory so many times that at this point they tell him to shut up every time he brings it up because they don't want to have to hear his sad life story on a Tuesday afternoon. He still gets teared up about not having parents when he sees other people happy with their parents and he's very affected by literally everything bad that has happened to him in life and if he doesn't turn it into a dramatic backstory that made him into a hero he won't be able to live with what happened to him (that part is just a headcanon the rest is canon lol, he does treat it exclusively as his ~dramatic backstory~ tho), so he likes talking about it A LOT. and let's be clear his friends are sympathetic, they just dont want to hear about it once a week. He's generally pretty in tune with his emotions (presumably because of therapy) and open and blunt abt them, not really afraid of talking about it.

2. Raven, she's spent her whole life with a dad she hates and wants the approval of who just wants her to destroy worlds like him, rather than be what SHE wants to be and while she'd rather forget about him, he is still an active force in her life that tries to visit her so of course she complains about all the shit her dad's done. Putting her lower than Robin cus it's really only when her dad interacts with her that it flares up and she's open about it, Robin is just in a constant state of being ready to infodump about how awful his childhood was the second someone asks/lh

3. Starfire is the kind of person to tell a "funny story" about her childhood(/sister) and its actually literally just the description of a traumatic experience she went through. Like her life has honestly been pretty shit but she's very optimistic and not bothered by it most of the time cus it was just a normal part of life for her, but she does talk about her trauma on occasion.

4. Cyborg, he has nothing against talking about his accident and hes sometimes upset about it, but generally speaking he thinks he's better off as a superhero than a football star, and his whole life previous to and following what happened has just been pretty good, he was a kid with a bright future and he still is.

5. Beastboy just fucking lies about his past man he don't give a shit, the only time he's been honest about his childhood in show was when beastgirl told him her childhood and he was like "haha twinsies!!!! Besties!" Let's be clear that Robin also knows what his backstory is as he's pointed our 'that's not your backstory, this is your backstory'and beast boy was like 'lol what r u talking bout' so evidently he HAS talked abt it before, he just talks about it not much. 0/10 trauma dump and if he did it'd be some totally made up shit

I went to bed really upset last night

I think there was a variety of factors that made me into a bit of an emotional mess after finishing attack on titan

Its like "its just an anime" or "its just a show"

Firstly, it was the anime/show that's been in my life the longest. 2013-2023. I associate a lot of my tumblr posts with the show. I called any character Kaji Yuki voiced in any other anime 'Eren' for fun. My time watching the first season is so vivid to me. I remember so much about analysing this show, and talking about it with friends.

Secondly, due to my OCD, the O stands for obsessive, and that connects to a lot of things, but its extremely hard to get me out of my Obsessive mode. I actually planned to make this rewatch last a couple of months. I was like "ah yeah Ive seen season 1 three or four times so its not gonna be that entertaining watching it again, I'll try watch a few a day". ...That didn't happen. I dont know why or how, but season 1 felt v different to me. I still got chills, I still got shocked when something happened, I would finish an ep and have the urge to scream from the adrenaline that went through me when something intense happened before a cliffhanger, almost as if I didnt know what was gonna happen next.

The reason I put off watching the show immediately after it ended is bc I'm aware this happens to me and its hard to get out of it. In my head I thought my obsessive nature wouldn't come around until I got to season 3 which I hadn't seen before and I thought I'd get to season 3 by mid-January. But from the absolute get-go, it kicked in, and from 7pm on the 21st of Dec to 4am on 26th of Dec, I binged the absolute fuck out of the show, taking breaks to do essential things like eat and shower. I barely slept.

So needless to say, I've only just come back to reality.

Third, I'm emotional af. Stories impact me on a really high scale, and I start to get stomach aches and chest pains bc of it. Esp if the story is magnificent. I finished that show last night and when I saw "The end", I was still crying, I hurt all over, and I just happened to be lucky that a friend who has seen it (and shockingly, doesn't watch anime) replied back to me and we talked about for a little bit. It helped to rant it out a bit but my sleep deprivation caused me to make so many typos and I officially had to sleep, which was hard, due to the chest pains.

And fourth, I believe what I just watched was perfection. To ever rewatch the show again, I'll see everything differently. Everything. The first 5 seconds of the show will be different. And when I'd had that realisation, I started crying again.

Like, I'm thinking of moments in the show that are literally just "characters swinging around and slashing titans" which is what the show was first known for, and now I'll be thinking "holy shit, these scenes have a bigger significance than you realise".

And for a show that's not about romance, the romantic tragedy that ties it all together, is what got me more than anything.

If this show gave off a vibe that the creator never knew where he was going with it, then I dont think it would be as impactful. As someone who loves Stranger Things, not everything ties up perfectly. And maybe the creators had an idea of their ending and then had to figure out how to get there, but it doesn't show. I've a feeling that by the end of that show, I'll be thinking that they ran through different drafts for their ending and finally settled on one and brought back a few tiny moments from the other seasons that ties it in and boom, done.

But almost every moment of attack on titan comes full circle, to the extreme point that I believe he wrote this whole thing out, almost every millimetre of it, and then released it at a specific pace up until recent years, and then obviously the anime adapted it. Yes he could have made slight changes along the way like "I originally wanted this character to say this line but changed it to this character cause it was more fitting" or something like that, but nothing that would really change anything about the direction he was heading with it.

Do I regret binging it? Yes, bc I have loads to do that I now have get stuck into with v little breaks (SnK was SUPPOSED to be my breaks), but also, mainly, bc I felt like I was there. Like when you're away from home for a month and you come back and everything feels weird and sorta wrong. So that's a learning lesson to myself. Never binge again.

Last time I did that was with Succession, but I'm just lucky that Obsessive mode kicked in about 20 eps in (so the first 20 I watched one a day), and so when Obsessive mode came in, it was for the second set of 20 episodes).

Unlike SnK where I watched almost 100 eps in 5 days :')))

Anway, I'll be thinking about this fucking show for a while, especially Eren. Especially Eren. He's just too complex, and I like to analyse, and that's some long analysation.

Also Mikasa and Levi impacted me too (Hange is my girl tho).

Yeah tons of people are upset at the album prologue, many of them have received hate and threats online, getting doxxed and outed on top of that. Funnily enough they receive those threats from people that only want to see Taylor married off with kids and the whole picket fence spiel. Which is kinda funny. In an ironic way.

Anyway, I just wanted to say, there are shitty fans on both the Swiftie and the Gaylor side. You have one side trying to figure out when she lost her virginity and to whom, and another trying to figure out if one of the dance moves she does on stage is her subconsciously moving her hand in the same way you'd finger someone. So it's obvious that theorizing like that would make her uncomfortable. And those are just surface level, I'm not even gonna try going deeper and explaining every mental gymnastics moves each group makes to come to those conclusions.

You also have infighting inside each of those groups, which is just like, ridiculous? It feels just like the L and G attacking the B in LGBTQ+, like, c'mon?

My point being, this is just a regular release cycle ever since Taylor decided to become the sheriff of Pride Trailer Town back in 2019, with bi flag colored hair and all (it's called You Need to Calm Down lmao), after she liked a +18 wlw gif on this very platform, talked about "dating him or dating her" in an interview, saying "Gay pride makes me, me" and talking about decorating her girlfriend's apartment because she was too busy to do so herself. Just a small collection off the top of my head that's kinda difficult to misinterpret, and there is tons more, without ever going into lyric analysis and the sheer amount of queer flagging, but I digress.

The goal of this long-ass ask isn't really to defend, because I've seen first hand how many shitty people are there on each side. I know it's really fun to make fun of them, I've done it myself, even though I consider myself to be a part of this group of people. I straight up made crack pairings and figured out ways to connect lyrics to those pairings to show how silly some theories sound. But I'll reiterate, only one group has seen its members doxxed and outed which put these kids (yes many of them are kids) in very dangerous situations as it wasn't safe for them to be out. And that's something I'll always hold over the head of regular Swifties, because it's a life threatening act that members of the group have done. Meanwhile their strongest "ammo" is secret Kaylor baby (I strongly don't recommend THAT rabbit hole) which has very socially negative ideas interwoven in the theory, depending on who's your source of info, but has never physically put anyone in harms way.

Sorry for putting this block of text in your ask, it's been a long release day and while it's super easy for me because I'm in a way, a closeted Gaylor and remain anonymous online, some of my friends that received threats and insults today don't have my privilege. Lastly, whoever reads this, please do not fall down the rabbit hole of the monetized Gaylor theories if you ever do decide to look into it. They pretty much take old (and some new) theories people spent time putting together (because it's a really fun time) and put those behind a paywall. Also they don't have "sources", just give it a minute and think, who would provide information to a literal random fan? On tumblr of all places?

So, Emmet never recovers any of his memories, they've been like psychically removed on purpose. He finds out about the Blackmail because Ingo tells him. Eventually, after Emmet has made it clear that he loves Ingo the way he used to and he demands to know. Ingo has been avoiding him and it Hurts and plays into Emmet's insecurities about being a burden. If he's too much and Ingo wants less to do with him, he at least wants to be told so and he can willingly back off. Ingo is upset that Emmet thinks that way at all and in the end confesses about their relationship being used against him. The Blackmailer really only has the power so long as Ingo doesn't tell anyone the truth, so at least it can't be used against him for Emmet anymore. That doesn't mean the threat doesn't still hold power over his career and other relationships. How will the public react to finding out that the Subway Bosses are a bonded pair? How will their friends and family? Coworkers and employees? Ingo can't risk this info getting out. For the record, while we haven't completely figured out what the blackmail Is I wanna say part of it is definitely text message records where the twins are just extremely unmistakably gay and bonded partners.

Tbh Ingo's pokemon are not At All Thrilled about everything that's been happening but they Trust their trainer. Especially with the distress of having Emmet missing for a time and not remembering them when he gets back just concerning them more. And those who Did try got to see Ingo punished for their behavior. That pretty much scared them all away from antagonizing. Except Chandalure legit would have straight up soul-sucked the blackmailer if given the chance because not even Ingo would be able to prevent her from protecting him in the best way she knows how. No matter how much confusion and stress there is involved, she doesn't like that Ingo is unhappy. So she's kept away from him so she doesn't cause problems.

The way they finally DO get rid of the Blackmailer is an alpha fight between him and Emmet. Because this guy has done horrible unspeakable things to both of them. Emmet wins but doesn't kill him. At least not intentionally. Its one of those cases of internal injuries being Bad and going untended and succumbing to internal bleeding. So Emmet is responsible, but he didn't directly kill him.

They're both angry about the situation and want to help but before a certain point literally all they can so is watch things happen.

A Heartstopper Rant!

This contains minor to major spoilers by the way, so if you haven't watched or read it yet, then its best to keep scrolling and minding your own buzz. This is a lengthy one too so brace yourselves!

So... I just watched Heartstopper and finished reading the book, now while waiting for the updates of Volume 7 in webtoon, I decided to post a rant about Heartstopper because honestly, there is so much that I just want to say about the series.

First of all, I just want to say that Heartstopper is like being wrapped up in a warm blanket, having a hot chocolate, and being cozy and comfortable while the weather is cold or stormy. You know, those kind of days where you just want to feel comfortable? That's what Heartstopper is. I realized this while I was in the middle of episode 6, the scene where they're looking for Darcy and Tara and the gang barges into the door where they were locked in and then they ran cause they were late to the concert. All throughout the series, both the comics and the tv series was so warm and comforting and the reason for this is probably because it is really relatable. Come to think of it, a lot of what the characters did, we have done it too. Like when Nick was questioning his sexuality, so he ended up searching "am I gay?" on Google and I bet, if not all of us then at least a lot of us did it too. His confusion and frustrations was so relatable that I started tearing up too right as his tears fell down.

In my case, I really feel the struggle of Nick because I, too is feeling really confused about my sexuality. At the age of 15, I knew I wasn't straight. It felt weird to be labelled as "straight" or "heterosexual" because that didn't feel like me. I'm still confused to whether I am bisexual or pansexual, all I know is that I am not straight and me kissing girls and having been on a relationship with them and finding them hella attractive seals the deal. I still like boys but girls too. Which is why I hate that some people are mocking and laughing at that scene because that was such a heavy feeling. To be so confused and have no one to tell them what you are feeling so you resorted to the internet (which kinda helps tbh). Anyway, another relatable aspect is how Nick tends to "people please" like he can't say no and he cares too much about what other people thinks, a valid case is when he couldn't say no to Imogen's date because he didn't want her to feel bad and just as he was about to set things straight, her dog dies. I have a hard time saying no to people and wouldn't want to upset them so I really feel for Nick at this scene and others.

He really just radiates Golden Retriever vibes and I love how Kit Connor portrays Nick. At this point, Nick Nelson and Kit Connor are one and the same because you honestly just can't find the difference between the two. I am convinced he was born to play Nick and I am so happy and proud that he embodied the role. There could never be a Nick Nelson if it weren't for Kit Connor. I will literally fight you if you disagree.

Moving on, another person who is relatable is Charlie Spring. Honestly, I feel like I kin him. No joke, I feel connected to him more than anyone in the series and I think it has something to do with his mental health and how he carries himself. I'm not going to tackle his mental problems too much because I don't want this to end up sad and depressing, but I would like to touch up just how some particular scenes made me feel. An example is in the comics, wherein he overthinks why Nick is greeting him every time they passed by each other or when they are inside their form room. I feel for Charlie cause I would literally start overthinking why this popular rugby guy who's friends with some bullies is being nice to me, like is this some type of ploy? A joke? A prank? like isn't that something you would most likely do too? I swear, the minute I saw Charlie overthinking, I was like "oh crap! it's like another variant of myself!" and then I just watched and read as he continues to spiral into negativity especially in the other volumes and all I wanted to do was cry. I also felt for Charlie when he made out this scenario in his head about Nick confessing his feelings and I posted an Instagram story about it with the caption "same Charlie, same" cause I also create scenarios in my head like 24/7. It's quite comical and entertaining. So yeah, I kin Charlie Spring and I will protect and defend him until the end of times making sure that no one will hate on him. I'm trying to keep my Charlie rant brief so I might just make another blog post solely for him. He deserves it.

Let's not forget about the actor who brought Charlie Spring to life though. Joe Locke, if you ever end up reading this, you are an amazing person and no words could describe how much of an inspiration you have become. Like Joe's portrayal of Charlie Spring is just really amazing and great and show stopping and everything good basically. Just like Kit, I will fight you if you ever disrespect Joe. Literally, I would. I will smack you the way Tao smacked Harry with his beanie.

Speaking of Tao, I also relate to him. Not a surprise really, at this point I feel like I relate to all the characters (minus Ben and Harry cause fuck them). I don't relate to Tao a lot, but I do relate to his fear of being alone. I also have abandonment issues. I also relate to Elle because as we have seen it, she had a hard time making friends adjusting when she moved to Higgs. I also struggle to make friends when I'm at a new place, hence why I still have no friends at the place where I am currently living at :)

Although, I do have a bone to pick with the Netflix adaptation. It is obvious that they will change some parts of the story and add more stuff to it like them adding Imogen. What I don't understand though is them changing how Tao figures out that Nick and Charlie are dating. I really didn't like how he figures it out already since they only managed to say it during the Paris trip and for all of you who has read the comics, its kinda a long while till he figures it out. But I guess I can deal with that. What I am having a hard time dealing with is the fact that Elle practically snitched, telling Tao about Nick and Charlie. Like my girl Elle from the comics would never do that. Elle knows how to keep her promises and her mouth shut and considering what happened to Charlie with how he was outed, it really boggles my mind that Elle tells Tao about it without Charlie's knowledge or permission. Charlie already struggles from lack of control ever since the trauma that he got when he came out as gay without his consent. He didn't need that and it was out of character for Elle.

Despite those issues, I still enjoyed the Netflix adaptation and I really look forward to season 2. Call me dramatic but I instantly went to Google to ask "will there be season 2 of Heartstopper?" Yup, that series has officially taken over my life. Thank you Alice Oseman. If you haven't figured out, Alice Oseman is the person behind the great series, Heartstopper and she is brilliant, talented, and really amazing. I love her and I love all of the cast. Even the dog who played Nellie.

I really love Heartstopper. It has now been one of my comfort series ever since it came out and it's just refreshing to see a show about the LGBT+ community that isn't all sad and depressing, because not being straight isn't something bad. Just because you're gay, lesbian, pansexual, bisexual, or etc., doesn't mean it's the end of the world. In fact, it's really great to accept and to have finally figured out who we actually are because not a lot of us has the luxury of figuring out ourselves. Some of us, like me, is still a little lost and confused and that is the most frustrating thing ever. It really is. And of course, there would be the causes and the effects of coming out and it can be quite horrible and terrifying since there are a lot of judgmental and homophobic people, but I think the series made it a point to always mention either in words or just in actions that as long as you have those who supports you, they can be many or just one person, it's gonna be okay. We don't owe this people anything. To hell with what they say, we're living our lives and we are happy, they can shrivel up and turn to ashes. We are important, not them. They're just jealous cause we get to be happier and free with loving whoever the hell we want. At the end of the day, we all have someone to support us and that realization came from me watching and reading Heartstopper repeatedly.

It's comforting because it's relatable.

🔪-how do they react to injury / misfortune befalling their loved ones (significant other, family, friends)? do they put themselves at blame?

So every time this has happened to Gregor it has been from him deciding to hurt one of his loved ones, or as a direct result of his actions. Like, the first significant loss in his life was his father dying which like...he orchestrated and gave the go-ahead on that.

He feels bad about what happened to Elliot and especially Isabelle I think but as you can see here he kind of just...blames it on the person!

Its easier than dealing with his culpability. I think in different circumstances where he's more normal loss would cut him deep, and I think to some extent it does now, but he's good at compartmentalizing it (I'm upset about what happened to Elliot BECAUSE he's still alive and its politically troublesome for me, not because I hurt and nearly killed my brother)

🙈-whats a side of your oc that they don't want to show other people?

As touched on in the comic, much like Elliot he has a pretty severe anxiety disorder. Unlike Elliot he learned how to manage and hide it pretty well early on in life and instead had silent, undetectable panic attacks at parties rather than Elliot who was always visibly unnerved during social situations (up until he started being able to drink, at which point he spent all of them very drunk as a way to self-medicate).

Gregor obviously hates the idea of anybody seeing him like that and knows it would make him seem weak or incapable. Around anyone other than the dragon, when he can't get the dragon to suck up all that sweet sweet anxiety, he just tends to redirect it into rage because that's a more masculine emotion. You can see that in some of his interactions with Clara.

Uhhhhhhh he's gay. It doesn't come up but dude's gay. If the dragon didn't come into the picture he'd just be having an affair with a dude instead. He knows this about himself but is like, well, that's not relevant to my life. Which to be fair, I also went "well, that's not relevant" because it never comes up in the comic lmao.

💧-random angst headcanon

He was actually quite jealous of Clara and Elliot's connection, especially as a teenager, not because he wanted to be with Clara, but because Elliot was able to form a genuine emotional connection to someone. Gregor had never really been able to do that because so much of his life from the instant he really got aware about things was just masking. It's not a coincidence that his only genuine personal connection, the dragon, is a creature that is literally an empath which can sense his pain and turmoil even if he's hiding it.

He would genuinely be such a good dad and has always wanted to be a dad very badly but has kind of figured that wouldn't be in the cards for him. He can be rude and a bit of a bitch to his peers but I think would be able to put that away the instant a kid was involved. He would be so, so proud of any child of his and definitely cry on the first day of kindergarten.

🌌-what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

He literally came to me in a dream! I dreamed I was an exiled, winged prince who had had my wings chopped off as a corporal punishment for some crime and I had to hide in a monastery. I woke up and I was like damn that would make a great OC and here we are.

The first thing I DECIDED about him with my conscious brain was probably that the crime he'd been exiled for was trying to kill his brother, which was actually what he'd done in the initial idea of Fragile. Obviously things shifted quite a bit between this first concept I had at 13 and the current comic lmao.

💖-are they a subtle or a showy lover?

Little bit of both! He's shy and unsure, and has some really deeply held beliefs/ideas about True Courtly Romantic Love. So he may be a bit nervous and reserved sometimes, but it's important to him for any partner to know how much he loves them at all times, and as you can see with Clara when he has feelings for someone his whole orbit sort of re-orients around them. He would definitely be interested in SOME flashy gestures, like a big romantic wedding, but he wouldn't like. Idk buy out a whole stadium for a marriage proposal or anything like that.

i know its a salt blog so theres inevitably gonna be some negativity & hot debates about the same things that go in circles over n over again, but srsly some of u are SO quick to assume the worst & make innocent mistakes or simple actions into being some obviously malicious scheme, when most likely is that whatevr occurred is just harmless or misunderstood. 

"never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence" pls remember that!!! anji is not some evil witch making the site bad on purpose to scam everyone, not every user is out to get u or secretly talking sht about u, customs owners arent all evil rich babies who want the entire site to cater to them but everyone else to fcking die in a hole, usually ppl are not intentionally trying to upset u or others, & so on... most ppl is just doing the best they can given the situation theyre in & what info they have at the time. of course sometimes eveyeone makes mistakes or look stupid, but i doubt the intent is to be as harmful as possible always.

like how some ppl take it super personall when they dont get a text back immediately & start thinking "oh my friend must hate me, oh my bf is cheating, oh theyr ignoring me on purpose to get back at me for somethin" & all of that when usually its literally just.. ur friend was busy with family stuff or they were using the bathroom or lost their phone or whatever. not actually as big a deal as it may seem with the first impulse!

good exmple is the recent talk over having private customs on wishlist, that its done to disrespect the customs owner, a show of callousness saying u dont give a shit about them or their wishes or all that. when srsly the easiest answer is just that maybe the person putting the item on the wishlist just didnt think about it that much. they saw the item, thought it looked cool, & put it there. maybe they dont even know its private since some ppl dont have obvious info about thers, or maybe its just there for their own reference or smthn with no biger meaning than that.

i personally dont give tons of thought to examining every single miniscule action i take on dv or how even just making a wishlist can possibly be misintepreted or scrutinized by others in a hundred different ways (sounds exhausting) & im sure plenty others are the same . sometimes literally ppl are just not thinkin about stuff that deeply!! the easiest answer is likely the correct one, theres no deep complicated aulterior motives, the person literllay  just wasnt thinking about it!

(& im not ssaying ppl should be let off the hook for doing genuinely awful sht just because their intentions were harmless! (like how u can be uninentionally racist but that dosnt make what u did suddenly not racist or suddenly not still harmful & something u shuld take responsibility for, its obv still bad intended or not), but on here SO much of whats beig talked about is incredibily minor stuff like someone putting a wishlist item up or pricing an item too high or phrasing a comment a little too emotionally or coloring a pet like 3 shades off or whatever & in those cases why not be lenient)
