the umbrella academy x mighty nein crossover fic i ain’t got time for

Umbrella Academy spoilers, yo!

So, for starters, this is more a fusion fic as opposed to a legit crossover. The Mighty Nein  were adopted as babies by an eccentric retired adventurer who intended to raise them to stop the apocalypse. This is the who would be who list.

Shitty dad: we’re going to go with Vandren as opposed to Trent for emotional distance while still having good intentions, as Trent would just raise assassins and we’re going to dysfunctional here folks, not murderbots.

Robo Mom: Marion, please, absolutely.

Luther: Yasha!! Yasha is strong girl. Also, it’s implied that Yasha’s undergone a physical transformation as a fallen aasimiar, at least if we assume she WASN’T fallen prior to Zuela’s death. It's not quite "turned half-ape and sent to the moon" but its something.

Diego: Beau. Beau Beau Beau. She’s batman, she can fight real good, doesn’t have time for rules, will punch the truth out of you. Ex-girlfriend is a hot detective.

I heard a rumor: Controversial opinion but I’m going Fjord on this one. He’s certainly the most charismatic of the group. And Fjord would abuse his power/grow to regret abusing his powers, so I’m sticking with Fjord-as-Allison here.

Klaus and Ben: ok ok ok ok I know Mollymauk is obviously Klaus but hear me out just for a second: Mollymauk died. Mollymauk would absolutely hang around his found family after death. Mollymauk would absolutely have an unspeakable horror about him that he couldn’t control. Mollymauk as Ben and Caduceus as Klaus, especially since “speak with dead” is such a Caduceus power.

That said, I will accept arguments for the opposite. (Caduceus with tentacle powers? Especially if we made them plant tentacles? Caduceus drinking his loving his family juice? Molly the drug addict? Molly who can talk to the dead? Here for it.)

Five: I was torn between Caleb and Nott so we’re gonna put both of them down here. On one hand: super genius? Time travel? That's got Caleb alllll over it. On the other hand, small? Smart? Stuck in a body they don't want? That's a Nott the Brave thing. They can share the position, especially since the show doesn't have 8 siblings.

Vanya: My gut instinct said Caleb but my gut instinct was wrong. Grew up socially isolated? Loves art/music? Didn’t have many friends? Felt she was ordinary even though she wasn’t? Emotionally vulnerable to an abusive figure? Jester is Vanya and I won’t hear any other arguments.
