PGATW Part 6
Wanda Maximoff x Natasha Romanoff x OC (fem!reader)
Summary: The avengers take a vacation to a private island rental off of the Georgia coast! You now have an opportunity to spend time with your new family, especially Wanda and Natasha.
Word Count: 2.1K
Check out my main post for links to the rest of the parts. Third part of the day! I was just looking for excuses to post this, so I caved. Also I decided to add a small plot so that this wouldn't go on forever, so apologies if chapter posts take a bit longer! Also I extended expected length to 10 chapters... small warning though, i have commitment issues <3 (i've never written more than five parts to anything before, so roll with me on this one...) ~el
After what felt like hours (but was probably only 20 minutes), everyone was finally off of the plane and split between the three cars that you all were supposed to have for your vacation.
You managed to get a window seat, but peter ended up with the middle and Wanda on the other side. Pietro took the open shotgun and Nat was asked to drive, and now you were all squished in the car, on the way over to the bridge.
"So," Pietro started. "Wanda got Natasha and Talia? I'm impressed, sister." A grin tugged at his lips while everyone sat in shock. The silence was thick, and you were desperate for someone to break it. Even Peter looked nervous, but you knew that he would never tell anyone. The three of us weren't being that obvious, were we?
"Oh, come on," He mocked. "I'm your brother, Wanda. I notice things. I didn't think anyone else caught on though, you three were acting rather normal for all being in a relationship, though. But you never know! It's only day one, I'm pretty sure, so you all better watch yourselves." Pietro smirked.
"Thank you, brother, for looking out for me." Wanda sarcastically grumbled. "I didn't know you cared about my private life." He laughed.
"Of course I care, sister. Did Peter know about this, though? I would feel a little bad if he didn't."
" No- yeah... yeah I uhh- I knew. Yep. I knew." Peter nearly whispered next to you.
"Oh ok, that's good. That could have been really awkward."
"Yeah..." You managed to push out.
"So Talia," He started again, wishing the only thing he could do would be to shut up. You briefly thought about portaling out of the car and into one of the others, but you didn't want to leave everyone else at the will of Pietro. "How did the two of them ask you? Was it really awkward? Did my sister get shy? "Did Natasha get all flustered and soft?" The assassin and the witch glared at him, but he paid no mind. The two of them were obviously getting annoyed with Pietro's behavior, so you decided to do something about it.
"Actually, Pietro, it was really sweet." You smirked and you could feel everyone's eyes on you, even Natasha who was taking quick glances into the rearview mirror. "Yeah no, when they actually asked me to join their relationship, I didn't believe them at first. I thought they were fucking with me because I had been crushing on them for so long. Turns out, in Wanda's exact words, 'We're not fucking with you, Talia, we just want to fuck you.' really romantic shit if you ask me." Wanda's cheeks were bright red, but at least she was smirking. The boys looked uncomfortable, Pietro most importantly. You could apologize to Peter later.
"Oh yeah, Dude. No, your sister also has really talented fingers too, coming from someone who's seen them in action. She got Nat down hard. It was hot." You caught Natasha's wink in the mirror. "Yeah she called me a 'good girl' as she watched me cum too... her cunt tastes really good, Pietro. I'm sure she could say the same thing about mine." You finished your speech with a shit-eating grin.
"Forget I asked." The speedster turned back in his seat, not daring to make eye contact with you. You looked over to Peter and mouthed an "I'm sorry", but he just awkwardly shrugged it off.
"It's fine. It was worth it." He mouthed back, still obviously uncomfortable, but with a small smile on his face. You wanted to laugh but didn't want to interrupt the new silence as you continued on your drive to the bridge.
You noticed another bridge on the way, imagining that went to a bigger island in the area. There was a lot of traffic around it, so you assumed there was something else to go and check out later.
A little further down the coastal road, a mini-golf course drew your attention. You made a mental note, wanting to check that out later too.
The coolest thing though was the bridge. It had its own gate near the entrance, which all three cars had clickers to.
"Alright ladies plus Peter, welcome to your home for the next two weeks," Natasha smirked behind the wheel as you laughed at the absence of Pietro's name. He didn't dare say anything as you stared at the view from the bridge.
It was gorgeous yet simple. The marshes seemed to stretch forever as you spotted different types of wildlife that roamed the area. Everyone was silent in the car as they took in the view, happy to be exploring new surroundings.
From the top of the bridge, you could see two other islands both off in opposite directions, but they both looked like they were regular tourist destination spots, making you happy that you got to be on a peaceful island in the middle of all of it. You still wanted to check out the other areas, so you pocketed that adventure plan for another day.
As you drove onto the island, you began to notice how small it actually was, but that didn't really bother you too much, seeing as the only house that sat on it was big and beautiful.
It looked slightly worn out from the elements, but it also felt real and authentic. You liked it. There were two stories that you could see, and the front was grand. There were stairs off to the left side leading up to the main entrance, and two garage doors off to the right. Underneath the main part of the house was just a concrete space with beach access, and you could see the dunes from your spot in the car. You were excited.
"Hey, Web Kid, you ready to do some exploring? " You grinned at the person next to you.
"Hell yeah Tal." The two of you high-fived as you caught Wanda's eye roll.
"Natasha, you in? Wanda seems to think it won't be any fun." Natasha laughed.
"You know it." The spy gave a wide grin.
"I never said that!" Wanda exclaimed as Nat finally turned the car off.
"You looked like it..." You teased, making direct eye contact with her.
"Fuck you, Talia!" She laughed as she raced to get out of the car and ran around to your door, but you were already running to the house with Peter and Natasha on your heels when she reached your side.
"I get the biggest room and ladies chose first!" Tony yelled after you as the witch chased everyone in the house. Pietro just sat in the car, happy to be out of that mess.
Wanda almost ran into the three of you in the house as you all were stopped, gaping in awe at the rental home.
"Damn," You breathed.
The front room was a big, tall cylinder with wooden stairs curving up the wall to your left. From where you were standing, you could see straight into a big living room-like area, and just off to the right seemed to be a big kitchen.
The four of you walked into the kitchen slowly, taking everything in, especially you and Peter.  Off to your right, There was a grand entrance to the first bedroom in the house, which you guessed was right above the two-car garage. Peeking in, you saw a big king bed and a bathroom off to the side, as well as what appeared to be a large closet.
"Guess I found Tony's room." You snickered at the fact that he didn't get an ocean view, as well as it is right about the garage and right off of the main living area.
Around the corner and down the hall, you all found four smaller rooms on the right, all with queen beds and small bathrooms. They all looked similar too, and now you were happy that you got the first room choice. Down in the far corner of the main space was the laundry area with the only washing machine in the house. Why would something this big only have one washing machine? You internally shrugged.
"Let's head upstairs." Everyone followed your lead. As you passed the main entrance, you saw everyone else unpacking the cars outside. Boring, you thought.
At the top of the stairs was a small space with a balcony that looked into the living room, as well as a wonderful view of the ocean and beach The sixth bedroom was off to the left, with double doors. You opened it, and the second you did, you could see it in Peter's eyes that he wanted it. It was a thin and long room... definitely an odd shape... but you could see its charm. There was a queen bed on the ocean side, and the space was just wide enough to fit two dressers on either wall. The bathroom and closet were on the other side of the room, and it all felt simple, relaxing, and quiet.
"It's all your's, Peter." You smiled.
"Uhh, really? You three get first pick..."
"Yeah. Perks of spending time with the women. Plus, I think Nat and Wanda are going to want the room on the other end. This is a little small." You laughed, remembering seeing another set of double doors at the end of the hall.
"Ok, awesome!" He left the room and headed back towards the stairs.
"Don't you wanna look at the rest of the rooms before you get your stuff?" You shouted at him.
"No, it's fine! You all go on without me!" He disappeared. You realized he probably just didn't want to be in the middle of you three picking rooms, so you understood. Once he was gone, though, Nat spoke.
"Talia," You turned to her. "We understand that you only mentioned Wanda and me in a room, but you know that you are welcome to join us, right?" You smiled.
"Yeah, I assumed." You went to softly kiss Natasha. "But not yet." Wanda rubbed your shoulders. "In my own time, I promise. I just need to know I have a private space for a bit, ok?" You leaned into the witch's touch. "I'll probably spend a lot of time in there though, don't worry." Smirking, you turned to kiss Wanda.
"You don't have to explain anything to us, baby girl." Natasha wrapped her arms around you, as did Wanda.
"I know. I wanted to." That made everyone smile, and you wanted the moment to last a little longer, but you also didn't want to make it awkward. "C'mon. Let's go check out the rest of the rooms." You grabbed their hands and left Peter's room.
The hallway across from you was lined with doors to the remaining 5 bedrooms and another railing peering over the first floor right before the end. Two doors were on left and the final two were on the right, with the last one with french doors at the end of the hall.
The two street rooms on the right were both a little different but had the same idea. They shared a bathroom, though, which Tony failed to mention, so your last two options were the ocean views on the left. The one closer to the stairs reminded you of all the rest of the rooms, but your heart really fell in love with the second one. It was a little bit more of a re-designed rec room than a bedroom, with a big window looking out to the coast, but also an open railing with a rod curtain that peered over the first-floor kitchen and dining space to the right. Two the left was the closest and bathroom that were clearly last-minute additions, but you didn't mind. The best part of the room, though, was the placement of the bed. A queen bed sat elegantly under the big window, and you knew it was perfect.
"I love it." You grinned.
"Really?" Wanda's nose scrunched. "It's not that private..." She said, glancing over the railing.
"I can pull the curtain, silly." You rolled your eyes. "It's quirky. I want it."
"Ok... whatever you like, princess." You punched her arm.
"C'mon. Let's go see your room. Know what I'm getting into." You smirked, making your way to the final bedroom in the house.
While the room was a lot smaller than Tony's, it was much more valuable. There was a king bed placed right under a large, angled window that looked out to the water, as well as a light bathroom with a stand-up shower that shared the same view. It was gorgeous, and you were a little jealous. Only a little bit.
"I think it's lovely." You shined. "Let's go get our shit." Everyone laughed and followed you out and down the steps.
You were going to have an amazing vacation.

Tumblr media
Genre: friends to lovers au / friends with benefits / mature content / romance / angst
Characters: Shim Changmin x Kaia Ashton (OC)
A/N: Due to the overwhelming request I have followed your encouragement to bring back one of my older stories. This was back in a time where OCs were everything and writing one chapter in each main’s point of view was the trend. I hope that even though I have edited this drastically, that you can appreciate this story comes from my older style of writing. I definitely still read this often and find it enjoyable so I hope you will too.

Chapter 15 – Changmin’s POV.
They had been in Japan a week now and Changmin was feeling the stress of working hard on promotions. He was thankful though, this time around he had Kaia there to help pick him back up. They didn’t do much together as the opportunity of alone time was rare. And because Kaia was in the spare room during the stay, Changmin wasn’t able to take advantage of what little time he did have free to enjoy the company of his good friend physically. He was starting to learn though that he was satisfied just seeing her smile over the little things during the day, and Changmin wasn’t missing out on anything like he would have if she were back home. It was nice to have her around whilst he was working so hard.
But Changmin had to admit the more time he spent with Kaori Kimura, the more irritated he became. Her existence in his life was starting to affect him, and the extra effort Changmin was putting in was taking its toll. Management was thrilled however, and had scheduled a night off for both Yunho and Changmin. There was a catch however, he was stuck taking the Ice Queen out on their first official date. Just the idea of spending time alone with her in an awkward environment was enough to make him want to walk across a bed of nails or something equally unpleasant. Changmin was also silently annoyed that Yunho would reap the benefits of a free night for his hard work.
“Oh hello, you’re back already?” Kaia asked as Changmin and Yunho came back into the apartment after their last appointment for the day, smiling brightly. She had gotten a headache earlier in the afternoon and it was interesting to watch their manager dote over her, calling for someone to take her back to the dorm immediately to rest. Changmin realised Kaia had made quite the impression on their small team, considering she was getting along with everyone well. She was no longer seen as someone on the outside but a welcomed member of staff.
“Mm, something smells really good!” Yunho said and Kaia nodded brightly.
“I hope you don’t mind I thought I’d make a meal you could both reheat later since I wasn’t expecting you till much later. I’m not very good at making Korean dishes though so it’s just crumbed chicken, roast potato and salad.”
“Sounds more than good, how long till its ready Kai?”
She smacked Changmin’s hand away from the baby tomatoes she had out beside her array of salad ingredients. “Fifteen minutes. So go wash up and I’ll finish the salad.”
“And I’ll set the table,” Yunho announced, grabbing cutlery and plates from their places and going over to our small table to put everything out.
The men then headed to the bathroom, both sharing the basin to wash the remains of the make-up off their faces. Changmin glanced at Yunho, blowing the water droplets away from his lips and then turned to his friend. “You know I have to go on a date with the Witch tonight, right?”
“I do.”
“And you get to stay home.”
Yunho side-glanced at Changmin and tried not to smile. “Are you implying I’m getting a free ride?”
“Yes I am,” he answered simply and Yunho chuckled.
“You don’t have to go on the date.”
“If I don’t want to get a major scolding from management, I do and you know this.”
“What about Kaia?” Yunho nodded towards the direction of the kitchen.
“What about her?”
“You could take her out tonight instead.”
“Why would I do that when I have to go meet that vulgar woman for a late night supper after her schedule?” Changmin didn’t get where he was going with this.
“So have some time with Kaia before you go and make it easier to go out on the date then? Stop complaining about things that are totally in your power. Management scolded you for bringing Kaia along but you’re still alive. If you truly don’t want to date Kaori, make it so you can’t date her or stop complaining.”
“Woah, you’re really unsupportive right now,” he claimed and Yunho nodded once. “Why?”
“I swear, I’m surrounded by idiots,” he murmured and walked off, exclaiming loudly over dinner being cooked a moment later.
Tumblr media
Yunho had unsettled Changmin with his cryptic message, and so in the two hours he had spare, Changmin called Kaia into his room and they hung out. At first, they just caught up on what they had missed in each other’s day, Kaia getting comfortable and laying down beside him on the bed. Changmin had been playing with her hair, thinking over what Yunho was suggesting about making tonight any easier. Finally, Changmin realised what he must have meant, a smile crossing his lips.
“What?”
“I’ve missed you.”
“It was only an afternoon Min,” she replied, not following his thought.
“I mean I miss you.” He rolled to face her and Kaia’s eyes finally showed recognition. She leant in to kiss his lips and Changmin pressed mine against hers firmly, his hands roaming towards the hem of her shirt. Running his fingertips over her stomach, Changmin felt her muscles tighten in anticipation. He moved up her body towards her breasts and reached around to undo her bra, pulling his hands out and removing her upper clothing in one action. After taking his own top off, Changmin continued to explore and moan at Kaia’s touch, the forceful nature he had begun with simmering down and becoming more lingering. He had yet to remove her pants though Changmin was enjoying licking a path down to them, Kaia’s breathing getting heavier. He worked on them slowly, much to her impatience, and once they were off Changmin kissed a path between her thighs and up to her womanhood.
He hesitated above it, and changed my mind, taking off his own pants and reaching for protection. By now Kaia was writhing underneath him, her arms slipping around his waist to pull him closer. As Changmin entered her, she moaned in pleasure and so many feelings overwhelmed him in that moment. He had missed the intimacy, and he wanted to prolong it as much as he could. Kaia hadn’t thrown her head back like she usually did, instead her eyes connected with Changmin’s, holding his gaze lustfully. It was a sensual experience, and he had to admit that he liked the change. We were taking the time to please one another in a different manner, and Changmin already felt satisfaction from the intercourse.
Wrapping her legs around him to get closer, Kaia kissed Changmin’s shoulder and neck, causing his balance above her to collapse. It was the closest they had been against each other in a while, and he could hear that her intricate breathing pattern was a beat behind his, their bodies perspiring with the heat. It felt like an electric current was surging through his veins as Kaia continued to hold his gaze, intensifying the entire experience. Changmin never wanted it to end but the familiar clenching in his stomach arrived and he groaned in frustration, wishing his euphoria to go away. He wasn’t ready to end this yet.
“Changmin,” she breathed and he focused back on her face, her hand coming up to capture his jawline. He nuzzled into it and she smiled, her eyes finally closing and let out a moan to indicate that she had reached ecstasy. A warm feeling encased his nether region and it was enough to make him join Kaia in her heightened moment, their moans subsiding along with their rocking. Finally, they became still, though they didn’t part. Changmin looked at Kaia who had an indescribable expression upon her face.
“What are you thinking?” he asked, wishing yet again that he could read her mind. Kaia just shook her head and smiled.
“Nothing, nothing at all.”
“Well, I better move and shower.”
She frowned. “Why? This is comfortable. We could stay like this all night.”
“I wish we could, but I have to go out tonight.” He sighed heavily.
“I thought you had the night off? That’s what Yunho told me.”
“He does,” Changmin said bitterly and untangled the girl from around him. “I, however, have a date. Which I was really not looking forward to before, but you always have a calming effect on me.”
“With uh, Kaori?” she mumbled and he nodded. “How come you didn’t tell me until now?”
“I didn’t want to think about it if I’m honest. I wanted a good night or at least a few hours with you before I had to resign myself to the Witch.”
“Oh,” she simply replied and Changmin looked at her, Kaia’s expression becoming more complex to understand.
He didn’t move apart from hooking a finger under her chin so she’d look at him. “I really wish to be able to read every thought that runs through your head, Kai. I believe you’d be the most intriguing book to read.”
“Right,” she said and tried to smile. “Didn’t you say you needed to shower? I just remembered that I was halfway through writing my notes up before I started dinner, so I hope you have a good time with Kaori as much as you can, Min. I’m going to have an early night too, my headache is still lingering.”
“You okay?”
She nodded and smiled brightly. “I will be once I’ve had some meds and get stuck into work. Can’t be the slacker in this household!”
Kaia then got up and dressed, waving goodbye before departing the room. Changmin stared after her, still unable to decipher anything. He continued to think over it during the entire process of getting ready for his time with Kaori, and even in the car ride over to the Italian Restaurant he was expected at.
He left the concerns at the door with his jacket, however and followed the Maître de to the table reserved for him. He felt eyes upon him, realising that Kaori must have already been there with all the hurried whispers that failed to completely reach his ears.
She sat in the middle of the dining room, in view of everyone, smiling warmly at Changmin’s approach. He could tell it was going to be a hard night of acting, under the eyes of so many. It would be front line news tomorrow morning and this pretend relationship would be propelled towards all of his fans in an outlandish manner so unlike his usual self. He hoped the fans would be smart enough to realise he wasn’t like this, instead of reading it for what it looked like.
“Hello Changmin, it’s so nice of you to join me here.”
Changmin thanked the Maître de and then looked about them. “You truly love to make a spectacle, Kaori.”
“Oh, this?” She gestured airily and then graciously smiled. “Is it too public for you?”
“No, it’s a perfect way to air such an outrageous relationship, don’t you think?” Changmin glanced at the woman, hoping to throw an equally charming smile back at her.
She laughed. “Outrageous? Don’t worry Changmin, I’m sure you will fall hopelessly in love with me and realise that I did this more than for the benefit of our careers.”
He laughed back as they clunk the champagne glasses together before he gulped his down. Changmin couldn’t help but be intrigued by just how far this ruthless woman would go to achieve whatever her mind was already set on.

Day 7 - 100
Happy Birthday @psychologistofscience !! Hope you have a wonderful birthday and also that this story isn’t too bad XD Last one will be for free day, and I will try to make it fluffy to pay you back for this one XD Never listen to sad music while writing. I am so sorry. I also have to use tags I have never used before here.
Days passed too alike each other for the mage by now. Nothing really happened to make a day different, and that was a good thing. It meant the days of wars and troubles were over. Now there was peace, and no more worries about if those he loved would come back from war.
After their travels ended, Fay moved together with Kurogane back to his country, where they eventually settled in Suwa, Kurogane wanting to protect the legacy his parents had left him. Kurogane took over as the Lord of Suwa, and Fay became the new priest to protect it. He didn’t have the same powers as the usual priestesses had, but his strong magic made up for all he lacked in local magic.
Their first years passed in peace, and just the daily challenge of getting used to living together as husbands and learning how to take control of a while province. Fay learnt the language gradually, and were able to start communicating better with everyone, and Kurogane eventually realized he didn’t have to copy his father in everything, and found his own way of ruling.
Then came years of nothing but bliss. To Fay those times were still the warmest memories he had. Before the war, and after he had been able to make himself at home in his new world. Then they tried another challenge together, as they adopted a young orphaned girl. It was really hard in the start, but it eventually turned out perfect. Later they even adopted twin baby boys that had been left in the forest. Fay and Kurogane were happy, and they had everything they could have ever dreamed of.
Then came decades of war.
It seemed like there had already been a lot of unrest the time Kurogane had been gone, as many Lords wanted to make Suwa a part of their own lands. It had stood a long time without any Lord, but Tomoyo had kept it under her protection, saying it would stand there until Kurogane took it back or died. Once he took over as Lord, there wasn’t really much they could do, but they kept finding other things to complain about, as they all wanted more power, and valued each chance to speak against Tomoyo or her sister.
Once Kurogane returned of course they had said he was too young and impulsive to rule, something Kurogane easily had proved them wrong from day one, as he had more than matured over his long journey. Having Fay by his side did of course also help, as he had one of the strongest wizards with him. No one could deny him his Suwa, and over time he proved he deserved it as well. Suwa in no time became the strongest province and smaller provinces joined with Suwa to gain protection, as Kurogane and Fay would always do their best to help everyone.
Yet, after 30 years of bliss, it was cruelly ended.
Troupes from the greedier provinces waged an attack against the Shirasagi Castle, claiming they had been wronged and would use the empress’ own sister as a hostage. From there it escalated into war. Sadly, with more victims than Fay would have liked.
The first to fall had been the empress herself, Sōma falling next failing to save her. Tomoyo had barely been able to escape thanks to their sacrifices, being able to regroup and rally the forces that were faithful to the late empress, and many that had sworn to help the new lord of Suwa, that had protected them from dangers for over 30 years.
The war continued for the next 20 years. Fay feeling his heart almost break in two each time he had to watch his husband and their children go off to fight, knowing he couldn’t leave himself. He protected the borders from demons. Even if those they fought were humans, they could not forget about the biggest dangers. One demon getting through was enough to eradicate Suwa in just some hours. After the attack on the castle, and Tomoyo having to flee, demons had crossed through and ruined more than the attackers had been able to.
So, Fay waited and prayed. Keeping up to the point of exhaustion as he was afraid he would fail and those he loved dead. He would only rest when Kurogane returned, as he knew he would easily protect Suwa while he rested. They were a team. When the other was there, the other could rest and know they had their back.
Even when Kurogane grew older, Fay never doubted his powers. He felt like Kurogane just grew stronger with the years, and they never had any sort of issues with the fact one of them aged and the other didn’t. Both treasured the fact that they were together no matter what. Even in war their children grew older, and eventually found love as well, and during the final years of the war, the proud parents also got to become grandparents. First one of their sons found a wife and married, being blessed with a daughter not long after. Fay remembering fondly the first summer they babysat her, as the toddler were eagerly running away from her laughing grandfather, who enjoyed the calm between being a general. Fay already started spoiling the little girl, that would always fall asleep on her ‘grandma’s’ lap after a long chance.
Then their daughter also got a child, just before the war ended. A little precious son, that had been born too early, barely surviving the night as there was chaos. Sure they would lose the war, the other warlords had aimed an attack directly at Suwa in silence. If they cut down the priest, the demons would destroy it all for them.
It had not gone as they planned though. Far from it. When the battle was over, they had all been eradicated by magic so strong no one in Nihon had ever seen its equal.
With that the war was over, and now 20 years later, there was more grandchildren and there was even a chance of great grandchildren someday soon.
Fay gives a warm smile as he leans back against the sliding door on the porch, enjoying the warm breeze as he looks up at the setting sun, a cup of sake in his hand as he raises it to the sunset. He was probably getting silly on his older days, his sons kept saying he was probably going to go senile soon. He kept telling them there wasn’t really a history of people growing senile where he was from though, but they didn’t seem to believe him. He knew they were only worried he was getting a little funny though. They kept wanting to come over all the time to make him spend time with the kids. They probably knew something was up. They were smart kids.
“I heard the progression will pass here tonight.” Fay turns as he hears a familiar voice, smiling as he pours a cup for his guest as well. The barely older Tomoyo accepting it as she sits down beside him, both of them silent as they watch the daylight bleed away. “It is a scary Parade. Full of demons and other dangerous things, but even the power of a priest or priestess won’t stop them from passing. It is the one night the dead can roam the earth, wherever the parade of a hundred demons pass.”
“I think I heard something about it once.” Fay whispers, as he avoids her gaze, drinking the last of his cup. “It hasn’t passed since I moved here, so I can’t say much about it. It is only each hundred year is it?”
Tomoyo shakes her head defeated over his stubbornness. “Watanuki told me to tell you one last time he would accept a refund if you changed your mind.”
A soft laughter from the gentle mage, as he shakes his head. “I won’t change my mind. I have prepared for this for over 10 years now. My son is an even stronger priest than I can be, and there is no war, so all my children and grandchildren can grow up safe. I feel like I can rest now.”
Tomoyo bites her lips, wanting to say something that would magically make him change his mind, but she knew there was nothing she could say to change his mind. The only one that could have made him go one was already gone.
After all, Kurogane had died the last day of the war at the attack on Suwa. Realizing demons were able to break through the barrier, Kurogane had run to the hurt Fay, that had gotten stabbed. Fearing his past being repeated, he had protected his family without any regards to his own safety. By the time Fay came to again, Kurogane were barely breathing. Overcome with grief, the moment Kurogane had said his last words to him, the powerful wizard had used his powers to crush the remnants of the enemy and the demons that had started coming through the barriers.
He had lost his soul mate that day, and were still feeling like he would find him again. It just didn’t feel possible that Kurogane wouldn’t be there with him anymore. A world without Kurogane was a contradiction to him that had seen Kurogane as his world.
“Have you said goodbye to your children?” Tomoyo whispers, trying to guilt him into changing his mind, as the last traces of the sunset started fading over the mountains in the distance, a tune seeming supernatural coming from the forests around them, as everyone in Suwa had locked up their homes for the night.
This was the time of the parade of a hundred demons. It was a party for demons and supernatural creatures to rise up and party through all of Nihon. They would start in one part, and just move through the entire world. Fay had heard about it the year after he lost Kurogane. And how it was just a few decades away. Rumors had said that many people had gotten lost with the parade because they had seen their dead loved ones, and left the world of the living behind.
Fay had made his peace with the world. He had lived a long life, a much longer one than most people. He didn’t see it as ending his life. He just saw it as dying of the old age he would never physically reach.
“I have left messages to them all, they will all split what their father left them, but they have always known they will share it all equal. Takemi will take over my duties, and I think Sora wants to keep ruling in her father’s stead, she has done and amazing job with it so far, and I think Tsukiko is just happy helping both of them.” Fay chuckles gently, as he was blessed with kids that were able to share. He felt like they had gotten a lot of good characteristics from their father.
“What did you ask Watanuki for?”
“Something so grave the only price I could pay was my own mortality.” He gives a weak smile now, as the sun were already gone, a bright blood moon lighting up the skies to show it was the demon’s night. “To make sure a soul enters the demon parade, if just for one night.”
“Are you even sure it is going to…” Tomoyo starts, a last desperate plea, as she felt like Kurogane would have wanted her to take care of Fay for him. She was the only one that might outlast him after all. But her plea is cut short, as the parade were upon them. A festive yet eerie sight, as demons, ghosts and other vile creatures’ floats through the forest ahead of them, bright lights from spirit fires in all different colors, long shadows reaching them as neither of them really took notice of the parade at all, but the tall man that had appeared in the opening to the forest ahead of them. The years of war gone from his face as the harsh decades had washed away, seeming the same age he had when they had been younger together.
A warm smile on his face, as he looks at the gentle blonde, that were feeling tears well up. No, he didn’t see this as tossing his life away. Kurogane had been his life, so he just wanted to spend the last moments of it with the man that had given his sad existence meaning.
“Fay!” A last plea from Tomoyo, that had been taken off guard by seeing the phantom of her old bodyguard, just in time to grab Fay’s hand as he had been about to run to him, but she looks shocked as she felt his hand in her own, but he still ran to his husband, her touch or words unable to reach him anymore.
A tight embrace, the long-lost lovers not wanting to let the other go ever again, the smiling Kurogane brushing the weeping Fay’s cheeks loving as he brushes the tears off his cheek, before they kiss hard. Just breaking apart to laugh gently as they rest their foreheads together, finally together again. Forever.
The progression of demons and ghosts soon pass, the crying Tomoyo watching as her dear friends fades together in the warm summer night breeze. Feeling the cold hand in her own still, as Fay sat rested against the sliding door still, almost looking like he was just sleeping, a warm smile on his lips, as he in the end had no regrets in life.
