“Hey, dont touch fathers weapons.” Masaru warned his son, Katsuki looked at his father with his crimson eyes then grabbed the base of his fathers sword, Masaru immediately took it from him and he started to scream. “What is he screaming for?!” Mitsuki came with a tray in her hands, Katsuki was only 3 but he was aggressive and hyperactive. She made him sat on her lap then gave a toy bow with a fake arrow. He stared at his toys with curious eyes and started to grin, he let out a cute pleased scream then started to swing the arrow in the air. Masaru sighed and took a cup of tea from the tray “He is only three but acts like a warrior.”  Mitsuki laughed and looked at his son “He is going to be the leader of our clan, of course he needs to act like a warrior.” Masaru was the current clan leader and despite his calm personality he was talented and successful. The leader of the clans house were always at the top of the mountain it was a tradition and that made them see the tents and the people of their clan clearly. They were living in a forest with full of rivers and waterfalls and Masaru’s clan was the strongest clan of the century, then there were kingdoms such as Marina, Metalia, Aros and Kagaku these kingdoms were the well known ones and Marina was the strongest of them all. Marina kingdom represented ‘water’ and they were pretty popular with their big ships and sea trades, their current king Seiji had a strong water quirk, he was married to a beautiful woman named Adelina and her quirk was strategy. Adelina was a part of a water clan called ‘Helen’ in the past and her clan was a big enemy of Marina kingdom. Then she fell in love with Seiji and when Seiji fell for her, they decided to end the rivalry and hate with getting married. Helen clan become a part of the Marina kingdom and they lived in harmony. Seiji’s kingdom was in good terms with Masaru’s clan, they were allies and friends. Even Marina looked like it didnt had any problems Seiji’s younger brother Kaito, wanted his son to become the leader after Seiji, he was only 5 but they were planning to make him the leader when Seiji got too old to rule, on the other hand Adelina wanted her 3 year old daughter Y/n to take the throne after his father.  Adelina’s brother Elijah, protected his niece from her greedy and heartless uncle Kaito. Seiji wanted his own daughter to rule the country but his brother were keep telling him that having Adelina’s daughter as a queen would be the same thing as wounding their pride since she was a Helen member at the past. Seiji was pretty mad about his brothers opinion, Adelina was his wife and that made her the queen of Marina.
-
When the night came, Marina castle was filled with busy servants they were preparing a big dinner table, usually it was just the king, queen and their 3 year old princess, but today there were going to be Adelina’s parents, sir Elijah with his wife and ofc sir Kaito with his wife and 5 year old son. Adelina was so nervous, she didnt like Kaito one bit and she was sure that he was going to say stupid stuff to offend her. The purpose of this dinner was to talk about the future of Marina and she knew that the throne topic was going to pop up, her daughter was going to be in danger, she quickly walked towards the guest room that his brother was sleeping in. Elijah quickly got up and bowed, then Adelina started to talk “Brother, i have this weird feeling in me and im sure that Kaito is planning something dirty. If you notice something odd tonight, grab Y/n and take her to the Dragon clan.” Elijah frowned. “Dragon clan? The one ruled by Masaru?” she nodded, Elijah was confused, how could a dragon clan was going to help them? “I know what you are thinking Elijah but Masaru is our friend and ally besides, Dragon clan has the best fighting techniques and weapons. They are living in the deep forest so my daughter is going to be safe.” She put a hand on his brothers shoulder and they both nodded. When everyone gathered around the dinner table Y/n was sitting on her mothers lap, her grandmother quickly sat next to her mother and helped her feed the girl. Seiji came with his father- in- law and Elijah, they were having a pleasant conversation then the doors of the dining room opened and Kaito appeared with his family, everyone frowned except Seiji. “Good evening, brother.” Kaito bowed and Seiji smiled. When they all started to eat the tension was thick. Kaito ended the silence with a cough and turned to his big brother “Brother, are we going to talk about the next leader of our kingdom?” Adelina quickly took a deep breath and looked at Elijah he had a frown on his face. Seiji answered “Why are you so concerned about this topic, im still alive arent i ?” Kaito saw the serious face of his brother and quickly laughed to ease the tension. “Oh brother, you are a great leader and you know that i adore you but we need to organise everything for our kingdom.” At this rate, Elijah was furious he quickly opened his mouth “Then i think having Y/n as the future leader would be the best option. Since she is the only child of Queen Adelina and King Seiji.” Kaito snorted and answered “Being the only kid of the queen and king is not enough and since Y/n is female having a male leader would be more to our advantage.” Adelina gave a death glare towards his direction even Seiji started to lose his temper. “What do you mean by that Kaito?” Seiji raised his voice, everyone was scared of Seiji’s serious self so Kaito quickly started to explain himself. “Y/n is going to be a smart and strong princess and i have no doubt about that but we are educating our son Rei for the sake of our kingdom.” *so this was his aim huh* Seiji thought. “My first priority is my daughter.” This was Seiji’s last words and it shut him up. Adelina catched Kaito looking at her daughter with cold eyes, she quickly gave Elijah a signal and Elijah cleared his throat “If you excuse me sir, i would like to rest.” Seiji quickly nodded “Of course Elijah, good evening.” Elijah, disappeared and Adelina quickly kissed her daughters forehead, she didnt wanted to get separated from her one and only child but if it meant to keep her safe then she was going to do it. “Please take Y/n to her room she needs to sleep.” She gave a signal to the maid and the maid nodded “As you wish, queen Adelina.” The maid quickly took Y/n and left. When the maid turned the corner she saw Elijah and bowed “Sir Elijah, your horse is ready.” Elijah took his niece and thanked the maid. He quickly got on his horse and left without a word. He saw the gates of the palace and the guards stopped him. “Sir Elijah? Everything okay?” he took a deep breath and hid his niece under his long cloak. “Im going to get some fresh air, now open the door.” The guard nodded and they opened the big gates of the palace, he quickly dashed towards the forest and after 20 minutes he saw the campfires and tents, it was the dragon clan. He continued to follow the river and found the big waterfall, when he reached the top of the mountain, he saw a big house made by strong and brown woods. The guards in front of the house quickly spotted him and shouted “Who is it?” Elijah gave a sigh of relief and replied. “Im from the Marina kingdom, im queen Adelina’s younger brother sir Elijah and i want to see leader Masaru!” The guard quickly got in the big house, after 5 minutes he came back “This way sir Elijah.”
-
Masaru was confused, he didnt expect to have a guest this late especially from his friends kingdom. The guard slided the door open and Elijah appeared, Masaru quickly got up and they both bowed. “Sir Elijah, i hope everything is okay?” he asked, Mitsuki was sitting behind his husband, she noticed the worry in Elijah’s face. Elijah quickly took off his cloak and they saw a baby in his arms, Mitsuki’s eyes widened. “Is that, princess Y/n?” she asked and Elijah nodded. “Let me explain leader Masaru.” Elijah started and smiled at his niece, she was sleeping peacefully. “Kaito, Seiji’s brother… He is trying to kill Y/n, he wants his son to take the throne but Adelina and Seiji is against the idea. I heard his personal butler talking, he was going to posion Y/n tonight. I didnt told Adelina what i heard, i didnt wanted her to panic.” Mitsuki silently gasped and Masaru furrowed his brows. “What can we do to help?” he asked, Elijah took a deep breath “We know this is too much to ask but can you keep the princess? Seiji doesnt know about this only me, the queen and her personal maid. We cant teach her how to fight, we can only educate her about politics, she needs to learn to defend herself please make her a warrior leader Masaru, we cant trust anyone else. On her 18th birthday im gonna come and take her back.” He bowed. Masaru looked at Y/n’s face, she was an innocent soul, rejecting her would be cruel, he loved Seiji and respected him as a friend. He looked at his wife and silently asked for permission when Mitsuki nodded he smiled and turned to Elijah “We are going to take care of her sir Elijah and we are going to hide her real identity from everyone, even from our son.” Elijah thanked and bowed “If you excuse me i need to return to the palace quickly, we dont know what Kaito is planning.” Masaru nodded, Elijah quickly got on his horse and left. When he left Masaru returned and saw Mitsuki holding Y/n in her arms. “How could they do something like this?!” Mitsuki was so mad, Masaru quickly shook his head and aswered “Kingdom games… They are always dirty.” Mitsuki sighed and opened her mouth “What are we gonna tell Katsuki, what are we gonna tell our clan? Y/n looks different from us even her aura is different.” Masaru looked at the little girl’s face and rubbed his chin “While i was hunting in the forest, i heard little cries and found a little girl by the river, thats what we are going to tell everyone including our son. But Katsuki should know Y/n’s given name, only us can call her Y/n. We gonna tell the clan that we named her ‘Ena’.” Mitsuki raised an eyebrow “Ena? That name means… Gift from god?” Masaru nodded and looked at the little girl “Yeah, it does. We respect nature and even Elijah brought her here its still because of the nature and fate, she is a gift from god.”
-
The cool air made Elijah’s face froze but he needed to go to the palace, her sister and the throne was in danger. Then he felt like he was being watched, he quickly stopped and shouted “Who’s there?” Then a group of men appeared, when he recognised what they were wearing he was speechles, they were Kaito’s men. “Where is the princess?” A man asked and Elijah scoffed “She’s already in a carriage which is going to a another kingdom.” The man started to ran towards him with his sword and Elijah quickly wounded him, he was a skilled man but they were crowded so he quickly counted them, there were eight people in front of him and he was alone. “You seriously came here with eight people?” Elijah laughed but the man smirked and quickly responded. “Actually nine people sir Elijah, we cant beat you with close combat but…” Then Elijah felt a sharp pain in his chest, when he quickly looked at his torso, he saw an arrow inside of him. “You cant notice an archer in the dark now am i wrong?” Elijah’s vision blurred and he fell from his horse...
-
When the morning came Katsuki quickly got up from his mattress and dashed towards his parents room, he quickly took a deep breath and screamed “AAAAAH!” This was his way of waking people up. His father groaned and opened his eyes, Katsuki was about to jump on them but when he saw a little girl laying beside his parents in a pastel pink mattress, he quickly stopped. The girl slowly opened her e/c eyes and they met with crimson ones. “Who… who?” She couldnt understand where she was, Masaru saw the confusion on her face and felt bad. Poor princess, clueless about everything… Mitsuki was wide awake and she quickly pulled Y/n towards her lap. “Katsuki, say hello to Y/n, she is going to stay with us from now on, you got yourself a new friend!” The little girl was confused, she was only three and her memories were not that strong compared to an adult but she knew that this wasnt her home. “Where… am… i?” Mitsuki quickly shoot his husband a panicked look and Masaru started to explain. “Y/n we found you in the forest… We are going to be your family from now on, im the leader of the Dragon clan and you are going to be my daughter. But our clan is going to call you ‘Ena’ the only ones who allowed to call you Y/n is us, understand?” The girl was even more confused… Something was missing, the warmth of a woman, the love of a certain woman, her mother. “Momma?” she quickly started to look around and Mitsuki felt disgusting, lying to a little pure soul was cruel, she quickly squeezed her “No sweety, momma is here look at me.” Katsuki was dumbfounded, what was going on? Then Y/n started to cry and Mitsuki tried to calm her down, Masaru took Katsuki’s hand and dragged him towards their big garden. He looked at his son and saw the frown on his face, he opened his mouth “Son, you are going to be a strong leader when you grow up. We need to help those in need, thats what leaders do. So i want you to be Y/n’s friend, can you do that for me, strong leader Katsuki?” Katsuki’s eyes shined with determination and he nodded. After twenty minutes Y/n came with Mitsuki, she was holding her hand. Mitsuki gently pushed Y/n towards Katsuki and waited for them to interact. Katsuki looked at his father and his father nodded while giving him an encouraging smile. Katsuki quickly took his fake sword that made from wood and handed to Y/n, she looked at him and hesitantly took it. Then Katsuki grabbed his bow and arrow. “Lets play!” he was trying to make her feel relaxed. Then her face lit up a little and she nodded, after thirty minutes they were playing, screaming and running around. Masaru and Mitsuki were watching them with small smiles on their faces then Mitsuki turned towards her husband and asked “ What if she doesnt forget about her parents? I know she is three and her memories are kinda temporary but any child can feel the absence of their mothers presence, I feel terrible Masaru.” He patted her back and looked her in the eyes “She is going to forget and this is for her sake, we are trying to help the Marina kingdom.” She sighed and nodded. “Besides, look at Katsuki he looks happy with a friend.” Masaru continued “Even he treats the other kids roughly i talked with him and he is being considerate.” He looked at his son, he was laughing while chasing Y/n. Mitsuki watched the kids and sighed “I hope we can protect her…”

One year later
“Woah Katsuki, your quirk is so cool!” You chimed and Katsuki smirked “Of course it is! I just got my quirk but wait and see im gonna be the strongest person in the clan!” you smiled and nodded “You are already the strongest!” Your words boosted his ego and he started to make bigger explosions in his hands. You didnt know what your quirk was, Katsuki got his and it was so cool! But you felt a little sad, you wanted a strong quirk just like his. Masaru immediately called a doctor and they made some test on you when they called Masaru, they told him that you had an Iq and strategy quirk. Having an Iq and strategy quirk is going to be so useful for you, it was going to help you calculate every move of your enemy in close combat or politics. When Masaru and Mitsuki first told you about your quirk you couldnt understand it clearly but one day when you were playing with Bakugou he started to chase you and sent you one of his explosions, you dodged it pretty easily, you started to see clearly and you felt like you were solving formulas in your brain. “Your quirk is not that useless Y/n!” Katsuki shouted with a smirk on his face, you smiled “Thank you, Katsuki!” when he was about to catch you Mitsuki called you both “Y/n, Katsuki! Your tutor is here, come on.” He huffed and replied “Fine! But we are not done Y/n, lets continue playing!” you nodded and gave him a toothy grin. After the lessons, you took a walk in the clan with mother Mitsuki and Katsuki, Katsuki was keep running here and there but you were shy, everyone was smiling at you and complimenting you, you squeezed your mothers hand and she patted your head “Katsuki! Hold Y/n’s hand!” she whisper shouted, she didnt wanted anyone to hear your given name, the rumors about the Marina kingdoms lost princess were everywhere so she didnt wanted people to become suspicious. Katsuki huffed and looked at you “Come on, Ena!” he quickly grabbed your hand and started to run. You were still uneasy with your nickname ‘Ena’ you couldnt understand why they called you with that name when you were outside of the Bakugou house but you knew that they were trying to protect you from something. “BAKUGOU! ENA!” Both of you heard an excited voice and when you turned around you saw Kirishima, he was holding a fake sword in his hand “Kirishima!” you smiled and your hold loosened on Katsuki’s hand, Kirishima quickly approached you both and started to tell you about his newly found quirk. “Woah! Thats amazing!” you clapped your hands and Katsuki snorted “Still! Im stronger than anyone!” Kirishima pouted and you laughed. Then Mitsuki called “Katsuki, Y- i mean Ena! Lets go, i want to have a picnic while watching the waterfall.” You pouted and Bakugou sighed, you wanted to play with your friends and both of them felt the same so Mitsuki invited Kirishima, the three of you started to ran towards the forest. You crossed the stone bridge while admiring the river and started to walk deep into the forest. Then you felt weird, it was… nostalgic. You rarely left the Bakugou house so the unusual feeling scared you, you stopped walking, Katsuki and Kirishima looked at you with confusion. “Hey! Ena come on!” Katsuki shouted but you were looking around. The feeling of a certain person, no… A man? Mitsuki managed to catch up with the three of you and saw the expression on your face “Ena? Whats wrong?” You started to run towards the waterfall and the three of them followed you, when you reached the waterfall, the feeling only grew stronger. “A man… A horse…” you started to mutter. “Ena, are you okay?” Kirishima called out to you while trying to catch his breath, you were too fast. “Ena…?” Mitsuki approached and patted your head. “Momma… Did father found me right here?” Her eyes widened *Oh no, dejavu…* she thought and cleared her throat. “No honey, he found you by the river.” You looked at her face *Momma, is lying…* you thought, your quirk was Iq  after all. Observing people and figuring them out was an easy task for you. *Is momma lying because… she wants to keep me safe?* “Ok momma… Then lets have our picnic!” You smiled and she gave a sigh of relief, your mood quickly changed and you didnt thought much about it, you were just four years old.

Eight years later
You and Katsuki were twelve now, he was always aggressive, competitive and rough while you were kind, calm and friendly. You and Kirishima were the only ones he considered real ‘friends’. Both of you were always taking lessons and having private training sessions. Bakugou was going to be the future leader of the clan. But you never understood what were you going to be… When your training session ended you decided to take a walk in the forest. “What… am i going to be? Who am i? Father Masaru always tells me that im a gift from the nature but am i a princess, a witch, a fairy? Everything im learning is too easy for me…” While you were muttering someone approached you from behind and just when you were about to turn around- “BOO!” Katsuki shouted and you looked at him, emotionless. “Wha- are you dead or something?!” You dropped the emotionless look and started to laugh “Dead? Ahahaha! Katsuki you are the only one who approaches me and tries to scare me all the time, im used to it!” Although you grow up together, Katsuki never saw you as his sister and it was the same for you, he was your first friend and you were his only female friend. He never told you but he really cared about you. You were always with him from the start, when he got his quirk you were the one who witnessed it first, when he got in trouble for stealing the apples in the kitchen you were his partner in crime, you were his training partner, his friend. When you were having trouble about sleeping because of your nightmares he always came and sat beside you till you fall asleep, when you felt lonely he tried to cheer you up in his own ‘Bakugou way’ you were the child of nature, a gift from god, his friend that god sent. “What are you doing here Y/n, you gonna get lost or something.” He huffed and you snorted “The child of nature getting lost in the forest? Come on Katsuki! Besides my power is Iq and strategy remember? Even if i get lost, i can easily survive!” he shuffled your hair “Whatever! Lets go before our old hag starts to look for us.” You rolled your eyes “She is your hag not mine, so… Bye!” You started to run into the forest and he shouted “Hey! Come back here!” He started to chase you, but you were fast so he used his explosions to get close to you, just when he was about to grab your arm you quickly jumped, grabbed a branch and climbed, he missed “Oi! Y/n, what are you doing?!” You were laughing like crazy, then he lost the sight of you “Y/n!” He called but there was no sound *There is only one place…* he thought, then started to run towards the waterfall. “Finally Katsuki, you are too slow!” He saw you, standing on the top of the waterfall gettin help from the big rock underneath you for balance. “What are you doing, dumbass?” He shouted but you didnt heard him because of the waterfall. Then you smirked and motioned him to come, he quickly used his explosions to fly and landed on the ground. “Y/n, you are gonna slip dumbass come here!” You shook your head “Nope!” Then you jumped. His eyes were wide, he knew that nothing was gonna happen but when he didnt saw your frame, he panicked “Y/n!” he waited but it was just the big roar of the waterfall and the big steam. He immediately jumped, his fall was rough and he swallowed a little bit of water. “Y/n?!” He was looking around then he felt little arms wrapping around his shoulders “Boo! Hehehe got you, Katsuki.” He jumped and turned to see your wet hair and shiny eyes. “Idiot! What were you thinking?!” he screamed and your eyes widened, he was an adventurous guy, why was he acting like an old man? “Katsuki? Were you… worried about me?” You asked and he avoided your gaze “Tch.” you smiled “Awww, you are the best!” you squeezed him and he pushed you “Hold onto me, im taking us out, im all wet because of you!” He tried to create explosions but it was hard when he was in the water, he managed to get the both of you out and dragged you towards the house.

Three years later
“Oi Y/n, wake up dumbass!” No matter how many times that you told him to knock, he didnt give a damn and barged into your room, like always. When he saw you, he regretted his action but it was too late. “K-katsuki?! GET OUT!” You were in your ladylike udergarments, your hair was messy just from waking up and your cheeks were now as red as Kirishima’s hair, thanks to him. His face turned red and he slammed the door shut. “I ALWAYS TELL YOU TO KNOCK!” You shouted “WHATEVER!” He shouted back and ran towards to the backyard just when he was about to open the door, his father appeared and smiled “Good morning, son.” But when he saw Katsuki’s face, he was confused. “Are you okay?” He avoided his father “Im gonna run!” and quickly left the house. When you heard him leave you slowly got out and found Mitsuki sitting on the front porch. “Mother Mitsuki, can we talk?” She turned around and saw your flushed face “Y/n, do you have a fever?” You quickly shook your head and sat next to her. “M-mother Mitsuki, Katsuki always barges into my room without knocking and… im a little uncomfortable.” she immediately understand what you were trying to say and sighed. “Both of you are growing up Y/n but men cant realise things unless you tell them, dont worry i will talk to him, stupid kid where are his manners.” She sighed and you smiled “ N-no mother Mitsuki, please dont be mad at him i just want him to understand that we are not kids anymore.” She patted your shoulder and giggled. “Yeah, you guys grew up together so he still thinks that he can have a bath with you.” Your face was burning up, when you were five, you always took a bath with Katsuki. “M-mother!” you covered your face and Mitsuki laughed.
-
Katsuki was running like a mad wolf, he was sweaty and tired but he felt alive, he used his explosions to fly and see the mesmerizing forest. It was fall so the red, orange and yellow trees looked more beautiful than ever. He immediately spotted the lake that he took his baths in and flew towards that direction. When he landed, he quickly kicked his boots and dipped his toes into the water, then he started to look around, your flustered and half naked image was still in his mind. “Dumbass.” His ears turned red and he quickly washed his face with the fresh water. He closed his eyes and tried to calm down but your red cheeks were still there… “I should hunt.” Hunting was one of his favourite activities, he felt strong, chasing his prey and finally managing to catch, the feeling of victory always lifted his spirits. So he stood up and set up a small trap and started to wait...
Katsuki managed to catch four rabbits and when he reached his house, he had a victorious smirk on his face when he was about to head inside, he saw you. You were training with one of the strongest archers in the clan. “Ok Y/n do it like i taught you.” You closed your left eye and took a deep breath, when you let it go you managed to hit the little red mark that your teacher drew. “Good job Y/n! If you continue to train like this, im going to teach you to how to shoot things while riding a horse then a dragon.” Your eyes lit up and you bowed “Thank you, sir!” he laughed and patted your head. “You are gonna be the best female archer in this clan, trust me!” his words encouraged you and you took a new arrow. “Ok! Now i want you to shoot the moving apple. If you can shoot moving things that means you are ready to ride an animal while using a bow.” You nodded and looked at the swinging apple, it was attached to a rope. Bakugou watched you silently, he didnt wanted to distract you, he always admired the you on the training grounds. Serious, determined, stubborn, most of the girls in the clan were busy with collecting stones and making necklaces, feeding the dragons, the sheeps or sewing clothes. “Focus, Y/n.” the instructors words interrupted his thoughts and he stared at your form, you pulled the string, slowly inhaled and exhaled, then… “Good job Y/n!” The instructor clapped and you grinned “I did it, sir!” There was an arrow with blue feathers in the middle of the apple. “Keep practising Y/n, if you manage to shoot the moving targets on our next lesson, you are going to train on a horse.” You bowed and thanked him, when he left you grabbed three new apples and tied them with a rope, Bakugou was still behind you and he was watching. *Lets see if it was just luck or not* he thought. In the blink of an eye you shoot the first one then you quickly aimed for the second one and shooted it. Now you were looking at the third apple, it was still swinging. *Left, right, left… right* You closed your left eye and… *Now!* when you looked at the third apple, its other half was on the ground. “I did it!” you started to jump like a baby deer and Bakugou chuckled. “Guess you are not that bad, dumbass.” You immediately froze “K-katsuki? How long have you been there?!” Your cheeks started to burn. “Quite a while actually.” He smirked, you crossed your arms and pouted “Y-you surprised me.” The flustered look only made his smirk grow wider. “Yeah whatever, you are not that bad.” Your eyes met and you started to feel calmer “Thank you, Katsu.”

One year later
Katsuki was taking a walk in the clan, when he woke up he looked at your room but then Mitsuki told him that you left for training. “Dumbass Y/n, she is leaving on her own now huh...” He sighed. You made some crazy ass progress in a year, you were stronger and pretty good in combat, you were the best female archer in the clan. The young men of the clan were amazed by your skills, you were the center of attention and aside from your battle skills you were so beautiful and elegant at the same time. You looked different compared to the people in the dragon clan. You had only three or four female friends because most of the girls in the clan were jelaous of your skills and you being so close to the next leader, handsome and strong Katsuki. When Katsuki reached the battle area he saw you and a girl holding a silver sword in her hands. “Take this Ena!” She charged towards you but you quickly dodged and kicked her in the knees. %80 percent of the audience was male and all of their eyes were glued to the battle. “Ena-chan doesnt have a weapon and yet, she is beating her opponent up!” One of the males spoke up and his friends nodded. “Her quirk is so useful in battle but i wanna see her shoot targets while riding a dragon!” the third male spoke up “She is so beautiful and yet so strong, i wonder if she’s single?” Katsuki was tired of the fanboys’ conversation, he scoffed. “Bakubro!” Then he heard Kirishima’s voice and saw him waving with a big smile on his face, he started to walk towards the red haired boy “You can see the battle clearly from here, Bakubro.” Bakugou nodded “I guess.” Kiri was so hyped, he was keep moving his fists and shouting encouraging words to you “You are doing a good job Ena, keep going!” Katsuki snorted and turned towards his friend “Are you five or something, dont distract her.” While everyone was clapping and cheering, your mind was a mess *Dodge, left, right… Now a kick to her stomach! Oh, im doing pretty good. Looking at her position, im guessing she is going to attack my knees or my feet, i need to be careful.* You started to ran towards her, she bent down and tried to grab your legs but you quickly jumped and now her back was facing yours, you quickly spinned and kicked her back, she lost her balance and fell on her stomach. You immediately sat on her back and holded her wrists. The crowd was cheering like crazy “YOU ARE AMAZING ENA!” or “ENA WON!” your opponent stopped moving and said “I give up.” You quickly stood up, extended your hand and smiled “You are pretty strong.” She smiled back and grabbed your hand “Not as strong as you Ena-san.” When you were about to leave she called back “Say, Ena-san. Wanna take a bath together in the lake?” You turned and smiled “Sure, i forgot to ask what’s your name?” she replied “Shiniqua.”
-
“Wow Ena, you were amazing out there!” Kirishima shouted and you laughed “Thank you, Kiri.” Bakugou was silent, observing your messy hair and scratched cheeks but your voice interrupted him “How did i do, Katsuki?” You asked with a big grin and a glint of hope in your eyes. He stayed silent for a second and snorted “You are not dead so… It was alright.” You laughed and pinched his cheeks “Awww, thank you!” His cheeks started to turn red, he was going to be the leader after all, he needed to look scary and strong but here you were squeezing his cheeks like he was a toddler. “Hwey, oi! Stowp, hmpf!” He quickly grabbed your wrists and yanked them off but you and Kiri were still laughing. “We are gonna go hunting with some friends, wanna come Ena-chan?” Kiri asked but you shook your head “No, sorry Kiri. I need to take a bath, im so sweaty and dirty also some of my friends are waiting for me, Bye bye!” You waved and Kiri waved back but Bakugou was too busy with covering his red face.
-
“You were so cool out there Ena-chan!” Hana chimed, you were relaxing in the lake with some of the girls in the clan. Hana was the only close friend you had, well except for Bakugou and Kirishima. “Thank you Hana but Shiniqua was pretty talented dont you think?” Hana nodded but Shiniqua quickly shook her head “I have a lot to learn from you Ena-san!” you chatted about all kinds of things and the topic now was a classic one ‘boys’ “Sayyyy… Ena-chan, you are pretty close with Bakugou are you guys you know…?” A girl named Shiko started to speak and the other girls turned to you, your face started to heat up and you quickly shook your head “N-no of course not! Me and Bakugou are really close friends, almost like siblings, we grew up together!” Your usually calm and collected expression was now a mess so the girls started to wiggle their eyebrows and continued to tease you “Ah, stop teasing me!” you yelled and attacked the girls while all of you were laughing Shiko stopped moving and turned pale “G-girls?” All of you stopped and looked at her “Shiko-san whats wrong? Shiniqua asked and Shiko pointed towards a bush “T-there is someone watching us, the bush moved!” All of you panicked and the girls started to shout “Calm down everyone!” you tried to calm them down but they were busy searching for their towels, all of you immediately grabbed your towels and wrapped it around your bodies, the girls were screaming and all of them ran away. You were suspicious that it was a spy so you immediately ran towards your house to get help, Bakugou was taking a walk in the forest with Kirishima and two guys named Arata and Ryuu. They were one of the strongest guys in the clan and they respected Bakugou so much, aside from Kirishima they were the only guys he could work together with. “So, Bakugou? Are you gonna attend the training camp?” Ryuu asked “Why should i? Im already training with strong warriors.” He looked at the sky and back to Ryuu “I dont know man, it would be fun to attend together” Arata spoke up and Kirishima nodded. “Yeah Bakubro! Just consider-“ Kiri’s eyes widened and he froze the guys turned towards him and eyed him with concern, his face was red as his hair “Kirishima you okay man?” Arata followed Kirishima’s gaze and now he was red as a tomato “Holy…” Bakugou rose a brow and exchanged a look with Ryuu when they both turned to look at what their friends were looking at Bakugou almost had a heart attack “What the-?!” Here you were running towards them with a towel wrapped around your body with flushed cheeks and wet hair, half naked… Ryuu choked on his spit and Arata covered his face, Kiri was worried but also too shy to say anything and Bakugou… well Bakugou exe just stopped working. “Katsuki! We need help!” When he saw the worry in your eyes he tried to focus but you grabbed his arm and pulled it towards your chest. He was too stunned to yank it off so he stared blankly at you. “Katsuki! Are you listening to me? I guess there is a spy in the forest!” Now all of them were alarmed and understood how serious the situation was. “A what?” He finally managed to answer “A spy, Katsuki! When we were relaxing in the lake one of the girls saw something behind a bush and all of them ran away, i didnt saw anyone but wanted to make sure so i came here to get some help!” A nasty scowl formed on his face and he straightened. “Lets go check it out then.” “We are coming too!” Kiri spoke up and the other two nodded. Katsuki shook his head “No, one person is enough… Oi! Stop looking at her!” He scolded them, Ryuu started to bow and apologise while Arata turned away and muttered apologies with flushed cheeks and poor Kiri, he was too pure he kneeled in front of you and waited for your forgiveness.
-
“Ok now, where is our spy?” He whispered and you pointed towards the bush, he grabbed his sword and started to walk towards it, then… *Rustle rustle* You jumped and crossed your arms over your chest, Katsuki turned around and grabbed your wrist “Get behind me Y/n!” Normally you would fight with him but since you were naked, you obeyed. Then just when he was about to make a move a deer appeared and ran away “Ack!” You hid yourself behind Katsuki but he stopped. “Hah? So our dangerous spy was a deer?” You replied “A what?” He sighed and turned towards you “Y/n, that was a damn deer.” You gave a sigh of relief but he snorted “Seriously, you guys ran away because of a delicious meal?” You blushed and pouted “When they said that there was someone i panicked okay, how should’ve i known?!” Now you were trying to cover yourself while Katsuki was laughing his ass off. “Yeah whatever, miss WARRIOR.” You sighed and accepted defeat then you shivered and Katsuki noticed. “Here.” He dropped his fur coat over your shoulders and his warmth enveloped you. “You are a weird one you know that?” You raised and eyebrow and gasped “Excuse me?” He smirked but didnt wanted to argue “Arent you tired dumbass? Lets go.” You hummed in agreement and both of you started to walk towards the house.
-
“Mother Mitsuki, do you need help?” Mitsuki was peeling a potato while the servents were running back and forth for dinner preparations. “Oh, dont worry Y/n! The servents are working and dinner is almost done, you had training sessions in the morning right? Why dont you rest a little?” You bowed and thanked her “Hmm, what should i do? I dont wanna sleep… Ah! I know what to do.” You ran towards your room and grabbed some stones that you collected before. Then you sat at the wooden floor of the front porch and started to make a necklace from the red stones. “These red stones remind me of Katsuki’s eyes, maybe i should give this to him.” When the necklace was done it looked elegant and beautiful. “Wow, im proud of this.” You hummed and smiled “What are you proud of?” The voice made you jump and when you turned to look, you saw Katsuki standing behind you “O-oh, nothing!” You quickly hid the necklace, he didnt question you further and sat next to you “How you feeling?” he asked and you smiled “Im okay, thanks to you! I didnt catch a cold.” He nodded “Good.” You sat there in comfortable silence then you gave a side glance and saw Katsuki admiring the sky. You sighed then looked at him again, he was beautiful, a sharp jawline, crimson eyes and ash blond hair, he was just perfect. “Why are you looking at me like that idiot?” You jumped and started shook your head in a defensive way “U-uh, i wasnt looking at you!” Then he snorted “Yeah? I dont believe you.” you pouted “Stop teasing me, Katsuki!” You playfully hit his arm and he chuckled. “Whatever, lets go and eat.” He got up and you followed suit, you quickly sat down next to Katsuki and waited for his parents, when Masaru and Mitsuki appeared both of you gave a little bow and they smiled. The dinner was lovely both of them were kind and loving, if only they were your real parents… Katsuki ate quickly then cleared his throat “Im going.” Mitsuki looked at his son and asked “Where are you going at this hour?” He answered “Patrolling with Kirishima.” Just when he was about to leave the room, you spoke up “Can i come too?” He looked at you, confused. “Its late Y/n.” He replied but you wanted to join him, this was the perfect opportunity to give him the necklace that you made. “Please Katsuki, im not gonna be a burden i promise!” He sighed then his eyes met your shiny and hopeful ones “Fine…” You smiled and jumped from your seat “Yay!” Mitsuki and Masaru watched you both leave. “Im glad that they get along.” Mitsuki started and looked at his husband “Y/n seems happy and she is pretty succesful dont you think?” Masaru nodded “Besides, she is a pretty good friend.” Masaru looked at his wife and sighed “I hope they’ll stay friends.” Mitsuki raised a brow “What so you mean, Masaru?” Masaru pinched the bridge of his nose and continued “They are not kids anymore, Mitsuki. Y/n is a young lady now and Katsuki is not a little boy, their relationship is different now. Mutual respect, trust and something im scared of…” Mitsuki quickly shook her head “No, you must be mistaken Masaru, they grew up together!” “But that doesnt change the fact that they are both matured. Katsuki is careful around her, i know im not the most talktive one in the family but im a good observer.” Mitsuki looked at the tea cup in her hands and sighed...

“Bakubro you came! Oh? Ena-chan you came too?” You waved and smiled “Yeah, i was bored and wanted to tag along. I hope i didnt ruined your ‘bro’ time.” He quickly shook his head with a serious expression “Of course not! I love Ena-chan, she is always welcome, right Bakubro?” Bakugou rolled his eyes “Hm.” Kirishima was one of the few people that posessed the ability to transform into a dragon so whenever Bakugou wanted to go on a patrol he always had Kiri with him. There were normal dragons in the clan but %3 of the clan posessed the dragon ability and all of them got trained for war. Kirishima was one of them and Bakugou always trusted him with his life even he didnt admitted it loudly. “What are you waiting for shitty hair, come on transform.” He quickly nodded and turned into a beautiful red dragon. Bakugou quickly hopped on his back and looked at you “Should i send an invitation? Hurry!” You huffed and grabbed his hand and now you were sitting on Kiri’s back, arms around Bakugou’s waist. Kirishima took of from the ground and your grip on Bakugou tightened. “Sorry, Bakugou...” you mumbled and hid your face in the fur around his shoulders. “Oi! Careful shitty hair, Ena is here too so control your speed.” Kirishima slowed down but your eyes were still squeezed shut “Come on dumbass open your eyes, this is not your first time riding a dragon.” You took deep breaths “Yeah but Kirishima is huge and he is faster than the other dragons!” Kirishima took that as a compliment and let out a pleased noise. After 15 minutes you were laughing like a five year old and enjoying the beautiful view then you remembered the necklace and straightened. “Katsuki, i made something for you.” He tensed up and started to listen, when he stayed silent you took that as a sign to continue “Its nothing much but i just want you to have it, you were my first friend after all.” Then he felt your small hands around his neck “Oi, what are you...?” when he felt the cold stones around his neck he turned his had trying to get a glimpse of you. “I collected these stones from the river, they were beautiful and the color reminded me of your eyes.” His heart was beating faster, he hated this feeling... “This is a thank you gift Katsuki. Thank you for being my friend when no one was there, i dont know where i came from, i dont know if i have parents or not, sometimes it wounds me but then i think of you and your family. Im so lucky to have you all in my life, i still dont know who i am but im gonna get strong and stay by your side when you become a leader.” His breath hitched in his throat, thats why he trusted you, you didnt had any connections with him from the start but you still become his friend, you created the connection with him and tried to get stronger to stay by his side. He took a deep breath and opened his mouth “It doesnt matter where you came from or who your parents are, it doesnt change the fact that you are strong thats how i see you. You are a part of this clan and nothing is going to change that, so you better get stronger and stay with me when i rule this clan.” Your eyes widened and cheeks darkened. You couldnt see his expression but he had a soft smile on his face, you tightened your hold around his waist and nodded.
-
“Oi dumbass, are you sleeping?” Your arms loosened their grip around him so he immediately grabbed both of your arms and you tried to reply but your eyelids were pretty heavy. “No...” Your breathing started to slow down and he sighed “Kirishima, we are landing.” Kirishima obeyed and tried to land softly as possible. When he managed to do it Bakugou turned towards you and your head collided with his chest. “What am i gonna do with you dumbass...” He started to take deep breaths and realised that he was inhaling your scent, he quickly shook his head and tried to wake you up “Oi, dummy wake up!” Your eyes fluttered open “Hah?! Oh, im sorry Katsuki.” He scowled and you got off of Kirishima, he transformed into his human form and looked at Bakugou mischievously. Bakugou glared at him and you yawned “Im sleepy, lets go...” You gave Kirishima a friendly hug and tugged at Bakugou’s cloak. “Lead us Lord Bakugou!” you laughed lazily and Kirishima grinned at you both. Bakugou grabbed your wrist and started to drag you, Kirishima smiled and whispered to himself “So he finally realised...”

Two years later
“Weak, harder!” Your lungs were burning up, sweat was dripping from your forehead and he was still energetic. Katsuki and you were training for two hours, he was pretty good at close combat so he wanted to show off by ‘teaching’ you some new moves. “Of course its weak! Im throwing hands with you for hours!” You yelled back and he snorted “You cant get stronger if you whine like a little brat.” He loved messing with you, he already knew that you were the strongest woman in the clan and you were just eighteen, he just wanted to show you his new technique but he was too shy to ask so training was a good excuse. “Katsuki please, im hungry!” He sighed and scratched his head “You stubborn woman... Fine!” After fifteen minutes you guys were walking side by side with meat buns in your hands. The shopkeepers were greeting you both with sincere smiles and bows. “Where are we going now Katsuki?” He looked around and turned to you “My dagger needs to be sharpened, we need to see Arata.” You smiled and nodded “Oh, its been a while since i saw Arata-san!” When you made it to the iron shop Arata greeted you with a confident smile “Ena-chan and Bakugou, what a good surprise!” Arata and Bakugou started to chat and you were watching the people of the clan work, then your eyes met with 3 pair of angry eyes. There were three girls eyeing you with an annoyed expression, first you didnt understand the reason but then it clicked *Ohhh right... They are jelaous bc im with Bakugou.* The ladies were crazy about Bakugou but he didnt looked at any of them, he was just too busy with training and other stuff, when you tried to brought it up he immediately changed the topic with an intense glare. “Oi, Ena we are leaving.” His voice interrupted your thoughts and you nodded.
-
Masaru was pacing back and forth in the garden, your 18th birthday was getting closer, he didnt wanted to hand you over to Elijah but he knew that you had responsibilities. “Five days... We have five days.” He murmured, normally he would be happy to celebrate your birthday but this was different, Mitsuki was the same, she didnt wanted you to leave and fight. You were like his own daughter and a part of the Bakugou family. Their minds drifted off to their son, he didnt had a clue. They didnt told anything to him, he was just like you, clueless... This remorse were going to be the end of them.
-
“Katsuki, w-wait!” You guys were running for ten minutes. When you left Arata’s iron shop, the girls of the clan started to gather around you both, Bakugou grabbed your wrist and started to run like a mad dog. You were tired of the chasing so you yanked him towards you and started to ran towards the girls “What are you doing shitty woman?!” You smirked and the girls looked at you with confusion, you ran into them like a bowling ball and knocked them off like bowling pins. Bakugou started to laugh and you shouted “Bakugou use your explosions!” He grabbed your waist and used his explosions to fly. When you lost the sight of the mad girls, both of you laughed “Why did you attacked them, dumbass?” You smirked and answered “They were sending me icy glares, i just needed revenge!” He snorted and both of you landed somewhere in the forest, when you took a look at your surroundings, you noticed the beatiful roses. “Katsuki, look!” You started to run towards the roses and he smiled to himself, you looked like a little girl. “I always saw the rose crowns but never had a chance to make them!” Bakugou looked at you with confusion “Rose what?” You smiled and started to explain with a goofy smile “Rose crowns! You know, the girls in the clan makes flower crowns from roses, sometimes they are red, white, pink or even orange!” He touched his red necklace that you made, your birthday was close so he wanted to make something for you, he bent down and started to pick up some white roses, you looked at him with confusion then he sat down and looked at you with an annoyed expression “Oi, are you gonna sit or what?” You sat down and started to watch him make a beautiful crown. He was the next leader he was a warrior and yet, his hands were skilled and careful on the roses. When he finished, he looked at the crown and hummed “Look.” You looked at his eyes and thats when you felt the warmth on your cheeks. He placed the crown on your head, you looked like a nature goddess. His cheeks turned pink and he averted his eyes “Happy early birthday...” He murmured and you looked at him with shiny eyes, smiling to yourself you decided to tease him “Whaaaa, i couldnt hear you Katsu?” The nickname made his heart stop, he grunted and looked at you with a frown “I know you heard it !” You laughed and replied “Ok ok, no need to be shy!” He growled and your laughter got louder. Then you looked at him with a sincere smile “Thank you, Katsuki.” You started to get closer and he gulped, why was he nervous? You gave him a tight hug and whispered “Thank you for being in my life Katsu.” His heart jumped and he inhaled your scent, this scent belonged to you... It was calming, soft, elegant. He wanted to return the hug but was too shy for it, so he slowly pulled back and you saw the tiny smile on his lips.
-
The evening came quickly and now you were having dinner with the Bakugou family, Mitsuki and Masaru were too quiet and Katsuki gave you a puzzled look. Just when you were about to open your mouth Masaru’s servent appeared and bowed “Leader Masaru, there is a woman wishing to see you.” Everyone in the table gave him a confused look and he got up, when you looked at mother Mitsuki, her expression was unreadable. After some time Masaru appeared with the woman and when her eyes landed on you she gasped. “Y/n!” Your eyes widened, only your father, mother and Katsuki knew your real name. Masaru saw the shocked expressions on yours and Katsuki’s face so he sat down and motioned her to sit. The woman’s eyes were glued to you and you felt nervous. Mitsuki’s hands were shaking but she tried to mask her anxiety. Something was very wrong, you were not dumb it was the opposite, your quirk was IQ and strategy and yet you were utterly confused. Masaru looked at Mitsuki and nodded “Y/n and Katsuki, we are gonna have a long talk.” Both of you looked at eachother, you gulped and met with the blonde’s ruby eyes, he sensed your anxiety and gave you a reassuring nod. “Y/n, this is Mrs. Kairi. Your uncle Elijah’s wife, in other words your aunt.” Your eyes widened and your face turned pale. Your aunt? Who? You had an uncle... You didnt had anyone, how was that possible? Katsuki was as shocked as you were, he looked at you for answers but when he saw your pale face, he closed his mouth and turned his eyes towards the woman. She gave you a sincere smile then Masaru continued “Y/n, i know its a lot to take in but fifteen years ago your uncle Elijah, your mothers brother gave you to us and left, it was all for your safety. Your other uncle Kaito tried to organise an assassination for you. He wanted his son to rule the Marina kingdom but your mother Adelina wanted you to lead and she wanted us to raise you.” Your mind was a mess, all the emotions came crashing down on you, you had a mother... You had a family, there were evil people like Kaito but it didnt matter, you had a family! Mitsuki got up from her seat and sat next to your other side, she squeezed you tight and you closed your eyes, silent tears started to fall and she patted your head, you were so happy that you had a real mother and you were happy about the fact that she tried to keep you safe by giving you to the Bakugou family but Mitsuki was the mother figure you always had and you were so grateful. Katsuki’s brain was the same, he was curious, excited and nervous. He was really happy about the fact that you had a family but he didnt know how you were feeling at the moment. Then Masaru turned towards your aunt and asked “Mrs. Kairi, its an honour to have you but i expected Sir Elijah on Y/n’s 18th birthday. Isnt it dangerous for you to come all the way here?” She gulped and the happiness in the room vanished. You looked at her, expectantly. She gulped and tears started to fall down from her face “When my husband Elijah gave Y/n to you. Kaito’s men attacked him and he...” She couldnt finish her sentence and started to cry, your eyes widened. Your uncle died while trying to save you, the guilt came crashing down on you and you got up from your seat everyone one looked at you with shocked expressions and you made your way towards your aunt, your forehead met with the floor and you bowed “I’m sorry!” Your voice was shaking but you didnt care. “I owe my life to uncle Elijah! I will take revenge!” Your voice cracked and you were a crying mess, your aunt patted your head and grabbed your hands, you saw the sad expression on her face, she cupped your cheeks and took a deep breath “Y/n... Your uncle was not the only one who got killed that night...” Your eyes widened and your body froze, Mitsuki gasped and Masaru were looking at your aunt with a pale face on the other hand Katsuki’s body was shaking. “Mrs. Kairi dont tell me that his father Seiji-” Kairi cut him off “No, the king is alive.” Relief washed over you but you remembered your mother and squeezed her hand “W-w-what about my mother, is she okay...?” Everyone were looking at her with hopeful eyes, when she bowed and sealed her mouth your body started to shake violently, tears were falling like rain droplets and your teeth were clashing. “Please tell me that my mother is okay!” You started to scream and your aunt started to tear up, you started to pull your hair, and shake your head. You couldnt accept the fact that your mother was gone, it couldnt be true, after all these years you found out that you had a family and now the precious people were already gone. “Kaito’s servant, poisoned her...” Her voice was shaking, she was having a hard time and you couldnt blame your aunt, it was traumatic. Then you felt your legs move by their own, you dashed towards the door and all you could hear was the muffled voices of Katsuki your step-parents and your aunt. You quickly grabbed a dragon and took off, you didnt had a clue about where you were going, you just wanted to run away from this nightmare “M-mom...” You closed your eyes and felt the warmth of a certain woman “Mom, is that you...?” The nostalgic feeling was too strong, it made your mind blurry. You decided to stop, you patted the dragon and it started to land. Now you were on top of a mountain, the dragon clan was still visible but it was far away. You layed on the grass and looked at the stars, the stars became blurry because of your tears, you wanted to wake up from this nightmare. Your mind drifted off to your father, you wondered how he was holding up, you knew that the demon, Kaito was still alive. Your blood started to boil, you were going to rip his head off and save the kingdom, you owed this to your lovely mother and uncle.
-
Katski watched Y/n’s breakdown with a sad expression and a broken heart. His strong, intelligent, optimistic and kind friend was having the worst day of her life. When you left he didnt think twice and followed you, first he thought of riding a dragon but you were already out of sight so he used his explosions to take off from the ground. Now he was looking around for the signs of you, he saw a campfire coming from the top of a mountain, it was far away but visible. So he decided to go there and when he saw you laying on the ground, he gave a sigh of relief. He sat next to you but you didnt reacted so he opened his mouth “Y/n.” The only answer he got was silence so he continued “I know its hard, i never lost someone important to me so the pain im feeling is nothing compared to yours but we are in this together, you are my... friend. We’ll fight together and save the throne from that bastard’s hands.” You sat up an your e/c eyes met his ruby ones, you never thought that Bakugou could be soft and follow you here. Your tears started to fall and you grabbed his neck, the sudden movement surprised him but when he felt your arms around his neck, his heart started to beat faster. “Katsu...” Your grip on him tightened and your tears fell to his shoulder. He inhaled your scent and held your waist. You were hugging him with full force “I dont wanna lose you too...” Your voice cracked and his grip tightened “I know you are strong and all but we dont know Kaito’s strenght.” He furrowed his brows and replied “So you expect me to let you leave, alone?” You tried to chuckle but your eyes felt heavy. “Katsu, I... I’m so lucky to have you in my life.” When he felt your body started to get heavier he didnt do anything to make you move, he wanted to feel your warmth. “Y/n, as long as we’re together, we’ll fight together.” You smiled and drifted to sleep, when he was sure that you were asleep he sighed and looked at the stars “As long as we’re together... I’ll be by your side.”
-
When the morning came Katsuki and Y/n took the map of the Marina Kingdom from Masaru’s archieve, her aunt stayed the night so they discussed about some important matters and Kairi promised to help them, with Kairi’s help it was going to be easy, they wanted to make a simple but useful plan so Y/n needed some strong men. She asked Bakugou for Kirishima, Arata and Ryuu’s help, Bakugou went to discuss the matter with them. Now Y/n was riding her dragon towards the Marina Kingdom it wasnt that far, she just wanted to steal a glance. When she saw the big palace and the beautiful water sources, her jaw dropped. The palace had an ocean and forest view, it was beautiful. Her heart ached, if only she grew up here... She shook her head and started to think about a strategy.
-
The boys were sitting at Arata’s iron shop, Bakugou told everything about Y/n, after he finished his friends were shocked “Ena-chan is what?!” Kirishima shouted, Bakugou gave him a death glare and growled “You want people to hear us shitty hair?!” Arata and Ryuu were shocked as Kirishima was but they decided to stay silent. “So you are telling me that Ena-chan’s real name is Y/n and she is the next heir of the Marina Kingdom, why didnt you tell me sooner?!” Eijiro was hurt, he thought that Bakugou and Y/n was his best friends. Bakugou scoffed and continued “I told you! They only told me her real name, i didnt know that she was a princess or something like that, Y/n and i just found out yesterday!” Arata scratched his head and interrupted “I’m sure she’s having a hard time...” Ryuu nodded and sighed “Poor, Y/n.” Eijiro felt sad, he wanted to see Y/n and make sure that she was okay, losing your mother was something terrifying. Bakugou sighed and looked at his friends “Its not easy but Y/n is not fragile, i know it.” They looked at Bakugou and saw the glint in his eyes, they smiled to each other and Eiji decided to lighten up the mood. “Lets save the throne! Then we will arrange the wedding!” Bakugou looked at him with confused eyes “What wedding?” He grinned and replied “Yours and Y/n’s!” Bakugou blushed but tried to mask it with shouting “WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!” Arata and Ryuu joined Kiri and continued to tease Bakugou.
-
When the evening came you called a meeting with the boys in the Bakugou household and all of them immediately came. “Y/n-chan!” You turned around, Kirishima was running towards you with open arms, your eyes softened and you ran into him arms. “Oi dont block the corridor!” Bakugou scolded you both but Kiri smiled and dragged you towards the meeting room. All of you discussed the important matters such as guards, servents and Kaito, Kairi came and gave you the map of the palace. “There’s going to be your birthday’s celebration in four days Y/n.” You looked at her with confusion and she continued “Your father Seiji, celebrates your birthday every year. He organises a big festival and prays for you to come home. Adelina didnt told him about you staying here.” Your eyes started to water “Father... How is he?” Kairi shook her head “After your disappearance he was crashed and your mother’s death made him sick. He is too exhausted to rule and now Kaito is responsible.” You clenched your teeth, that bastard took everything from you. Your friends sensed your dark aura and Kirishima patted your back, you gave him a tiny smile. “So in this organisation Seiji calls dancers, chefs, performers and musicians all of you can wear costumes and get in easily.” You nodded and turned to Ryuu “Ryuu can you find someone to make us costumes?” He nodded and you turned to Arata “Arata, can you make me a light but sharp dagger?” When Bakugou saw the cold look in your eyes he interrupted “You dont need a dagger, everyone has strong quirks and combat skills.” You shook your head and gave your final answer “I’m going to need it.”
-
The days passed quickly you were going to take your throne, tonight. Ryuu was busy with choosing the most strong dragons and gathering supplies and Arata was making weapons while Bakugou, you and Kiri worked on the strategy. The three of you were looking at the map of the palace. “The throne room is on the 4th floor. I need to go there, there is a big balcony and im sure that Kaito is going to watch the festival from that balcony my aunt says he never leaves the throne room.” Bakugou nodded and Kiri asked “What are we gonna do?” You started to explain “I want you to deal with the guards while Bakugou deals with Kaito’s right arm, Sir Yota.” Bakugou cracked his knuckles “Im gonna kill that little fly.” You sighed and continued “Be careful Bakugou, from what my aunt told me he has a similar quirk to yours.” He snorted “That doesnt change the fact that im going to tear him up to pieces!” You smiled to yourself, you thanked god for giving you such good friends they were in this with you and that gave you strength. You inhaled and gave them a sadistic smirk “Lets do this.”
-
“Okay we’re gonna left the dragons here.” You ordered “What are we gonna do now?” Kiri asked and Bakugou replied “Y/n’s aunt rented a carriage for us, we can easily get in without attracting too much attention, we’re gonna walk, its waiting for us on a stone bridge.” After walking for twenty minutes the three of you saw a regular carriage and the driver waited patiently before driving “Mrs.Kairi’s guests?” He asked and you replied “Yes.” When the carriage started to move you whispered “If we manage to capture Kaito and Yota, Bakugou will send a big explosion to alarm Arata and Ryuu and they will arrive with some swordsman to capture the soldiers that are working for Kaito.” Kiri nodded and gave you a big smile “We got this Y/n-chan!” You smiled back and looked at Bakugou, he was watching you. When your eyes met both of you averted your eyes. Things were different between you two, it wasnt bad or anything, there was just a weird aura between you two and both of you were trying to understand it. When you looked back he was watching the dirt road. You took your time to analyze his features, you understood why the girls was crazy for him. He was strong, captivating and handsome. You felt jelaous but it quickly disappeared bc you knew that you were the only girl who saw his soft and caring side, you guys grew up together and you saw all his stupid expressions and childish acts. A stupid kind of pride welled up inside of you. “Why are you looking at me ?” Bakugou’s voice interrupted your silly thoughts and you quickly shook your head “N-nothing!” Kiri caught a glimpse of the blush on your cheeks and he smiled to himself. Then the carriage abruptly stopped and you asked “Is something wrong?” The driver answered “No Miss, we are here.” Your stomach started to churn, you were so nervous. “Ok, thank you.” The three of you started to walk in the crowded streets, there were food stands, all kinds of shops and laughter. The people of the Marina Kingdom looked different from the Dragon clan’s you felt similar to the people of Marina, you didnt feel out of place. Bakugou saw the smile on your face and gave a sigh of relief. “Ok now we need to find the gates of the palace, where do we need to go Kiri?” You whispered and Kiri looked at the map “Just straight ahead.” You nodded and started to walk in a normal pace. The thought of your father made your heart beat in a crazy speed.” When you saw the big gates the three of you saw two muscular guards and they stopped you “Who are you?” You take a deep breath and replied “We are here for Mrs. Kairi.” He nodded and opened the gate “Wait here let me check.” You were so nervous that you tugged at Bakugou’s costume, he looked at you and sensed your anxiety, he let you grab onto him. “Ok, you can come in.” The guard came quickly and bowed. The three of you made your way towards the main hall and some servants welcomed you. The inside of the palace was empty, the streets were filled with happiness but the inside was cold and sad. You looked around and saw a young maid, you whispered “She looks easy.” Bakugou nodded and you made your way towards the maid. “Excuse me, can i use the bathroom?” The maid bowed immediately “Sure!” She guided you towards the right corridor and a big white door welcomed you. “This is the guest bathroom.” You smiled and bowed “Thank you.” She gave a nervous smile and left. When you saw her form disappear, you quickly followed the corridor and saw big white stairs. You managed to reach the 2nd floor but then you heard a butler and a maid speak “How is Lord Seiji?” The maid asked and the butler sighed “He is exhausted, he is talking about princess Y/n again.” Your heart dropped *Lord Seiji?* They didnt called him king anymore... You waited for them to disappear and looked at the big door, your heart was pounding. You hands trembled and you pushed the door open, the room was dark and the only noise you hear was erratic breathing. There was a tired man, laying on the bed with closed eyes. He was skinny but you managed to see his features, he was your father, you knew it. He took a deep breath and spoke up “...Adelina?” Adelina, was your mother’s name. You stopped breathing and sat next to him. You played with his h/c locks and he gave a content sigh, you kissed his forehead and watched him lose consciousness, when you got up and closed the door his eyelids opened slightly “...Y/n?”
-
“I guess Y/n managed to find the stairs, we should split up too.” Eijiro nodded and made his way towards the soldiers “What up guys? Why dont you guys enjoy the festival?” The guards gave him a confused look and Bakugou slapped his forehead. Bakugou followed the same path as you and saw the massive stairs, he ran up the stairs and made it to the 4th floor. When he saw you with the dagger in your hand, his heart pace quickened. “Y/n!” He whispered and grabbed your wrist. You jumped and kicked his manhood “Fuck!” He crouched down and you gasped “Katsuki, you scared me!” He hissed and tried to stand up. “Im so sorry!” He sighed “What are you planning to do?” You saw the worry in his eyes “Um, im gonna take my throne back?” He clicked his tounge “You know what i meant, are you gonna kill him?” You looked at the dagger in your hand and sighed “Im just gonna use it if i need it.” He looked at you in the eyes and holded your hand that has the dagger in it “I believe in you.” Your eyes widened “That Yota bastard’s room is at the end of the hall, i’ll see you in a bit.” You nodded and turned to the door.
-
Kaito was watching the streets with a smile on his face, he was content with his work. While his brother was suffering in his bed, his son was ready to take the throne, just when he was about to turn around to call his butler, he felt something sharp in the back of his neck. “Dont you dare move or make a sound.” The voice was unfamiliar and cold. “”Hands up.” He raised his hands and tried to mask his anxiety “Who are you?” You laughed sadistically and answered “Your lovely niece.” He froze and turned pale, when he made a move to take a look at you “I said, dont move.” He felt the dagger press harder on his skin, he hissed “I knew that you were alive but i didnt thought that you would come back.” He dryly answered but actually he was scared to death. “I came here to take MY THRONE.” He laughed and tried to hit you but you quickly dodged it “Guards!” He shouted but no one came, his eyes widened and you smirked “Did you really thought that i would came here, just to get caught?” The guards were nowhere to be found so that meant that Kiri got them all. He was trying to figure out your quirk but since it was about intelligence he was clueless, you calculated his moves and dodged. Then he grabbed a sword and charged at you, you took his head and smashed it on the ground, he groaned in pain and you kicked the sword “Yota!” He screamed but no one came. You took that as a sign of Bakugou’s victory and laughed. Kirishima managed to knock off the guards and Yota was nowhere to be found “Tell me, where is my lovely cousin?” When he opened his mouth you cut him off “Oh i already know! He is out of the Kingdom for special training right? Well, too bad.” He groaned “H-how do you know that?” You snorted “Aunt Kairi helped me a lot about gathering information.” Kaito growled “That little-” You squeezed his neck and he wheezed “Dont you dare talk about my aunt like that.” Then both of you heard a loud explosion, that was the sign that Bakugou supposed to give to Arata and Ryuu. You smiled and hit Kaito’s head with the back of the dagger, he passed out and you tied him with the metal strings that Arata made. When you opened the door, you saw Bakugou waiting. When you saw him in one piece the tears you were holding started to fall, just when he was about to open his mouth you pulled him in a bone crushing hug “Katsu!” He didnt say anything and returned the hug, after waiting for you to calm down he spoke up “We made it, i told you that we were in this together.” You pulled back and your eyes meet, you cupped his cheek and his eyes widened, when you started to get closer his cheeks turned red and he didnt know what to do, he closed his eyes shut and waited for the kiss to happen but when he felt your forehead on his, he opened his eyes. Your e/c orbs were looking at his ruby ones. “Im so lucky to have you...” Your tears were still falling, he smiled and closed his eyes “Same.”
-
After the chaos, Arata and Ryuu came with a bunch of swordsman and captured all the guards, maids and butlers that were secretly working for Kaito, you quickly hugged all of your friends and thanked them for their help. Then you went to the throne room and looked at the crown that were standing in the glass bell. “Mom uncle, im home.” After shedding your last tears you ran towards your fathers room, it was so emotional, he fainted and thought that it was all a dream, then the servants gave him his medicine and told him to rest. The people of the kingdom and the servants in the palace were confused so Bakugou gave them a speech of the princess’ arrival and victory. Everyone cheered and thanked the dragon clan for their help. The leader soldier of the Marina Kingdom’s army bowed and showed his grattitude to Bakugou and Kirishima. Then Masaru and Mitsuki arrived, they were proud and happy but they knew that you were going to stay in the kingdom so when the evening came they had a hard time saying goodbye. When you hugged Arata and Ryuu it was time for Bakugou and Kirishima, Kirishima looked at you with big teary eyes and pulled you in a tight hug “Oh, Y/n...” You patted his back and wiped his tears “Dont be sad Eiji, i will come to visit.” He pouted and his tears continued to fall “But its not the same thing, i know that they need you here but... You are my best friend.” You giggled and pinched his cheeks “What about Bakugou?”You asked and he pouted “You know what i meant!” After ten minutes of hugging with Kiri, Katsuki was standing in front of you, you never saw him this quiet. He was looking at the ground like it was the most interesting thing in the world, instead of talking you took his hands and he immediately look up. “At my happiest and saddest times, at my weakest and strongest state you saw all of me... You are the only one who knows the true me.” His eyes trembled but he decided to stay silent and listen. “My first friend, rival, partner in crime, role model... You are my everything, Katsuki.” His heart was pounding in his ears, his cheeks were red like his beautiful eyes and his hands were trembling, he didnt wanted to say goodbye, he wanted to see you when he woke up and he wanted to see you before going to sleep, he wanted to see you training, see you laugh, see you joke around because these past fifteen years were the most precious years of his life. “Katsuki, when you become a leader, you’ll get married and rule the clan. I know i promised you, i promised to stay by your side but... I need to help my kingdom.” You bit your lip and shook your head “I-im so sorry for breaking my promise...” The tears started to fall again “Im such a crybaby today, huh?” You tried to laugh but it didnt sound like one. “At least you’ll have the woman that you love, she’ll be by your side but i cant because i need to stay here...” He clenched his teeth and grabbed your cheeks, your face was now sandwiched between his large hands “Stop saying illogical things!” He shouted and you looked at him with wide eyes “Im not gonna marry with a random woman, i already decided arent i?! I wanna rule with you, i want you by my side!” Your cheeks were hot, you didnt wanted to misunderstood the situation but he started to sound like he... loved you? “K-katsuki but how...? What are you trying to say?” He groaned, here goes nothing... “I never said it loudly but it doesnt mean that its not true! I... I love you, there i said it!” Your mouth was agape and he was red like a tomato, your mouth started to tremble “Y-y-you love me?!” If he was embarrassed he was more embarrassed than before “Are you deaf?!” You quickly shook your head and grapped his hands “No! I just...” You were frustrated, you were struggling to form an answer and his expression started to change, he started to think that he was going to get rejected, to gave him an answer, you cupped his cheeks and slammed your lips on his, it was awkward but meaningful and cute. You quickly pulled away and started to shout “Im so sorry, i love you too i didnt know what to-” Your words got cut off by his lips and it take you a while to realise that he was kissing you back. “Don be so loud woman.” He mumbled and held you by the waist, you saw a sincere smile on his lips and both of you looked at eachother with loving eyes...
-
Four Years Later
“Is my carriage ready?” You asked while trying to get ready “Yes, your highness.” Your maid replied with a smile on her face, you grinned back “Where is my father?” the maid looked at you and answered “He is having tea in the garden, your highness.” You hummed and quickly got out of your room. Everything was perfect, all of the servents greeted you with sincere smiles and when you made it to the garden, you saw your father smelling the roses that you ordered. “Did you like the white roses that i ordered, your majesty?” Your father quickly turned around and gave you a strong hug, he was getting stronger and stronger. He smiled and nodded “They are beautiful, honey.” You smiled “Im gonna visit the Dragon Kingdom, do you want me to deliver a message for father Masaru?” He laughed and nodded “Tell him that i missed beating him at chess.” You laughed and gave him a peck on the cheek. “See you later, father!” Bakugou was the new leader and the old dragon clan was now a big kingdom. He was a strong and fair leader but in the inside he was your softie, you wanted to see him so badly and gave him a lot of kisses.
-
“No! I told you to bring the white roses!” The servants bowed and rushed to change the pink roses with white ones. When Katsuki invited you to discuss some matters, he got nervous and wanted everything to be perfect so now he was ordering the servants around. “Are the desserts ready?” The servants bowed and answered “Yes my lord, we prepared all the desserts that Lady Y/n likes!” He nodded “Good.” He nodded and tried to slow down his racing heart. Now you were a grown woman, you were strong, alluring, intelligent, beautiful, elegant, charming, captivating, you were perfec- “My lord, do you want me to prepare the lavender tea?” He growled and shouted “ARE YOU DEAF? IM TELLING YOU TO PREPARE WHATEVER Y/N LIKES THE MOST!” The servant bowed while muttering apologies and dashed towards the kitchen. Katsuki pinched the bridge of his nose and waited for your arrival.
-
When your carriage arrived the servants bowed but you gave them all a friendly smile “Katsuuu!” You shouted and ran towards the garden, he was watching the small lake, when he heard your beautiful voice, his heart skipped a beat but his expression was the same, he was good at hiding his excitement. You jumped on him and wrapped your arms around his torso “You tryna kill me, shitty woman?” You gasped dramatically and he snorted “You are hurting my feelings Katsu!” He rolled his eyes but the small tinge of pink was still visible on his cheeks. After joking around both of you sat down and discussed about economic stuff, he watched you carefully, your serious expression or the confused one, everything about you was beautiful, he wanted to see you everyday, by his side. Thats why he was going to ask you the ‘big’ question today. After the boring discussions he took a deep breath and started “I want my kingdom to become the strongest one in this century.” You decided to tease him “Too bad because mine is stronger than yours.” You waited for a comeback but it never came “You’re right... Thats why i want our kingdoms to become one.” Your eyes widened and when you see the smirk on his face your face heated up “B-but the only way is...” He cut you off and completed the sentence “Marriage between the royal families.” You choked on your spit and he snapped his fingers, a servant came with some papers in his hands and handed them to Katsuki, slammed the documents on the table, they were about your marriage... With him. When your eyes met with his, he had a victorious smirk on his face “What do you say, annoying woman?” Your lips trembled and you attacked him with a bone crushing hug “Katsuki!!!” When he heard your sobs, he snorted but hugged you with full force. When you calmed down he looked at you in the eyes “Now we can rule the world together, side by side...” Then you sealed the promise with a heated kiss...
-The End-
A/N: Im sure Kirishima would be like “SGDJASGDHJS” at their wedding

Courtship [1/2] (AjinWeek2020/3)
Day 3: Favourite Ship/Romance/Lover
By: @ryokasmagic
Note: I have two OTPs in Ajin (Tosaki/Izumi and Kou/Kei) and I honestly can’t pick between them. Decided to go with KouKei for this one though. This has two parts, so far part 2 is supposed to be posted for Day 7. I hope you enjoy!
…..
“You’re amazing.”
And ever since that fateful day, the words haven’t left Kei’s mind.
At first, he thinks there is nothing redeemable about Nakano.
He is too loud and gets overly excited about everything, always barging into Kei’s private space. He seems earth shatteringly optimistic and ready to take on whatever obstacle the world is ready to present him with an energy that Kei can barely begin to comprehend.
In hindsight, this might have been what has fascinated him about Nakano so much to begin with.
They gradually begin spending more time together, but then, this is bound to happen, Kei thinks, when you’re stuck in one hideout with eight other people with little choice in the matter.
It has nothing to do with the fact that he actually enjoys Nakano’s company.
No, he certainly hasn’t stooped down to that level.
Of that he is certain.
…….
It starts innocently enough.
They’re sitting outside the hideout, taking a break after hours of training.
“What if we weren’t Ajin?” Nakano Kou asks.
“What?” Kei frowned, “That is the most stupid question I’ve heard in weeks.”
“No, think about it.” Kou gestures with his orange popsicle. “What if we were…you know, normal high schoolers.”
“We are normal.” Kei frowns. He is a perfectly respectable member of society, thank you very much. He may have an above average regenerational ability that might classify him as “immortal” in some instances, but he has no duty to disclose that to anyone.
He isn’t a dropout runaway that can barely memorize the kanji required to graduate.
“You know what I mean.” the other boy says, “Like…what if we weren’t on the run from the government?” His gestures got broader.
“That’s a rather pointless scenario. You might as well ask me what would have happened if I hadn’t gotten hit by that truck.” Kei rolls his eyes and moves his hazelnut-chocolate cone out of reach, away from potential Kou-induced hazards.
He catches Kou eyeing him from the side.
“Seriously?”
“Yeah, seriously.” the redhead replies indignantly, giving him a light nudge that has Kei scowling, “Isn’t it fun to think of what-ifs?”
“No, it isn’t.” Kei replies, and then relents under the expectant stare. He takes a bite of his ice.
“Well, fine. Let’s say I wouldn’t have gotten hit by the truck.” He pauses, considering the possibility and comparing it with his schedule at the time. “I would have had to turn in a physics project that week. Write a biology exam the week after. Not to mention our assignment in history about the reformation of- “
“Dude, I mean like, fun things.” Kou says, exasperatedly, “Like, you know. The next party you got invited to- “
Kei is excellent at politely turning these invitations down-
“Or like, an outing to a karaoke place or an arcade after school?”
After-school is reserved for math-club-meetings and further study-
“Or like, you know, getting a girlfriend!”
“I never had one.” Kei replied bluntly.
“What?!”
Kou’s shocked enough that he drops his popsicle. It rolls a few feet away from them, out of the shade and into the scorching afternoon sun. He stares wistfully at its departure.
“Oh man, I was going to finish that.”
“Get a new one.”
“Noo, they’re rationed. In any way I don’t feel like walking anymore than I need to today.” He pouts, slumping against the cooling wall.
Kei sighs, before wordlessly offering him his chocolate cone.
“Really, dude?”
“Call me dude ever again and you’ll have bigger problems than this.”
“Thanks, man.” Kou says, which isn’t much better and gives him a genuine smile that Kei wishes wouldn’t make him so happy on the inside.
“Yeah, whatever.”
“So, coming back to the topic at hand- “
Kei suppresses a groan. He has been relying on the convenience of Kou’s short-term memory to prevent them from ever continuing the previous conversation.
“What about it?” he asks instead, reaching for the water bottle and taking a large sip.
“Like, really? Never?”
Kou looks a bit like a Golden Retriever whose owner has forgotten to take him on a walk.
“No.” Kei shrugs, “Is that so weird?” It’s a serious question.
He’s never considered that his social life could be boring, by others’ standards, being far too focused on becoming a diligent student that represented his family well.
“Ah, no, no, it’s cool.” Kou waves him off, words encouraging, “Not everyone has to have a girlfriend in High School.”
Kei doesn’t let him notice any of the relief he feels at those words.
“Some of us just aren’t dating our homework, ya know?” He breaks out into laughter.
“Die.”
“I can’t. I swear man, I’ve tried!” Kou throws up his hands in desperation, shaking his head and Kei turns away so that he can’t see the traitorous hint at a smile on his face.
“Would you ever want one, though?”
“What?” Kei arches an eyebrow.
“What do you think? “
A day full of peace and quiet, with no training or social interactions, preferably locked away in my room, Kei thinks, but he’s certain that’s not what Kou’s referring to.
“A girlfriend. Or, you know, a boyfriend.” Kou shrugs, and Kei feels the blood freeze in his veins.
His friend-by-default notices his incredulous expression.
“We’re in the 21st century, right? It’s not that weird.”
Kei doesn’t dignify that with an answer.
“You’re expected to marry someone of the opposite gender.” he says, remotely, “Unless you can avoid it.”
“In theory!” Kou has finished his ice cream and wipes his hands on the grass, “Like, maybe it’s not that you just haven’t found the right girl? Maybe you’re just- “
“Okay, enough.” Kei cuts across him. His heart thunders in his chest and thoughts of Kaito resurface in his mind, which is more than he can bear after hours of training exhausting him to the bone.
“Are you too much of a chicken to find out?” Kou’s grin is teasing, and competitive.
“Find out what?”
“If it’s perhaps not just girls you’re interested in?”
“When would I find that out?” Kei answers, ignoring the inexplicable jump his heart takes all of a sudden, “We’re fugitives in a battle. We barely have time for this.” He gestures vaguely and checks his watch, “Speaking of, we should get back to training.”
“Come on, ten more minutes.”
“You said that half an hour ago.” Kei deadpans, “No ten more minutes. This second.”
“Is that what you want me to say when you refuse to get up in the morning and want me to cover for you?” Kou teases.
Unfairly, he has a point.
“Whatever.” Kei sighs, chalking it up to the heat that he doesn’t feel like debating Kou on this particular topic.
“I propose a challenge. No, a bet. If you chicken out, I’ll assume you’re too much of a coward after all. Ready?” Kou asks, pointing at him, brimming with self-confidence.
“And what makes you assume I care?”
There’s the Golden Retriever look again. “Oh, come on, Kei.”
Kei sighs. He’s a good person, he tells himself, a respectable member of society. He’s doing Nakano a favor by not subjecting him to alienation from the only one in his peer group and the devastating consequences that might have for his social development.
“Okay, tell me what it is.”
“We pretend to be boyfriends for a week!”
Kei stares at him, dumbstruck, but before he can get a word in edgewise, Nakano cuts him to the chase: “No, wait. I’m serious. Nothing, strange, like, ya know.” He blushes scarlet, clearing his throat and Kei thanks the Gods above that he doesn’t elaborate on the subject.
“Like hand-holding and that stuff. Maybe a date night where we watch movies.”
“That sounds dumb.” Kei replies before he can stop himself.
“Dumb, but not impossible?”
“We don’t even have time for a…” Kei pauses, wrestling with the unfamiliar word and its embarrassing implications, “date night where we watch movies. We have to train. Fight Sato, in case you forgot?”
“Consider it a team-building exercise!” Kou grins widely.
“I could think of a way more interesting exercise where my IBM gets to practice attacks on you.”
Kou laughs.
“Yeah, we have to train.” he admits, “You’re right. But seriously. Do you really…not want to try it out? Or does it just sound unusual to you?”
Kei bites his lip. He can’t believe that Kou goaded him into this conversation.
“If we were, theoretically- “he cuts in sharply, as Kou’s eyes widen in excitement, “To try that out. We would need to have some rules.”
“Sure, definitely.” Kou nods along.
“And it would not cross a week.”
“Nope, that’s the idea.”
“And if I didn’t like it, we could end it at any time.”
“Yeah.” Kou replies without skipping a beat, “Consider it, like…a social project.” He stretches out his hand. “You’re on board?”
Kei has to admit he’s not completely adverse to the idea. He’d pay money to see the expressions on the others’ faces when he told them about their plan.
And also, for some strange, unspeakable reason, having a movie night with Kou doesn’t seem like the worst of ideas.
Kei clears his throat.
“It’s a deal.” he says.

LFC Caladhel/Kaito(Final Fantasy Edition)
Tumblr media
What I’m Looking For: People to deal with this curmudgeon. He needs more friends, rivals, enemies, fans, and interaction in general.
Fandom: Final Fantasy XIV.
Server: Crystal data center, Balmung server.
Venues I Actively Roleplay In: Tumblr, Discord, Google documents.
Favorite Type of RP: I’m not entirely sure what this means, but my favourite stories tend to happen when the ball rolls “from nothing”; as in, little, one-line joke posts that snowball into full-blown story wholly driven by the characters.
Triggers: I have none, but I will respect yours if you do.
**Things I Will Not RP **(IE: NSFW, Torture, Romance, etc.): There is very little that makes me uncomfortable; I have no problems separating writer from the subject matter written and I don’t believe that if you write something, that means you--the author--endorse that topic you’ve written about. That said, I’d like to know your limits so I can work within them to help us create a story we both enjoy writing. I’m not out to make anyone uncomfortable.
RP Strong Points: I’m easy-going, patient, adaptable, and capable of writing stories both episodic slices of life and involved, epic plots. Whatever your preferences, just let me know and I will work with you.
RP Weak Points: I probably write too much and drone on, so if you feel that way about any of my posts, please let me know; I’ll adapt them to make you more comfortable. I can also be really slow with my posts because I want to give you the best I’m capable of creating. I’m not the greatest with fast-paced posts, but I can try to accommodate if that’s what you prefer.
Tumblr media

Caustic.
Cautious.
Patient.
Workaholic.
Domineering.
Vengeful.
Control freak.
Hot-tempered.
With an innate talent for frost magic and a deep, abiding love for his mother’s homeland in Ishgard, it’s no wonder why many people assume Dhel must be a snowman. Those who’ve met him often use words such as “cold,” “aloof,” and “icicle up his ass” to describe him, but he has his reasons for being harsh, biting, and slow to open up to others.
Language(s): He’s fluent in both Eorzean Common and Hingashi, and in his spare time, he studies Meracydian and Gelmorran.
Height: Eight feet. 8′. 244cm. They grow ‘em big where he's from.
Body Type: Dhel boasts plenty of lean, ropy muscle and the athletic build of a man who can outrun a cheetah on cocaine.
Eye Color:  A brown so dark they might as well be black. In the sunlight, they sparkle with hints of gold and resemble a tiger’s eye stone.
Hair Color:  Blacker than a moonless night. His hair shines with azure highlights in the sun.
Age: 35.
Notable Scars, Marks, etc:
Thick, knotty scars cover his ankles, his heels, and his soles. They appear to be the results of serrated knives.
A long, thin scar runs up the back of his left calf; it’s the result of a tree-climbing accident as a child.
His knuckles bear the marks from a stupid game of “does it hurt?” he used to play with his brothers and other students when he was a kid. The game involves rubbing a pencil eraser over the knuckles until the victim either cries uncle or bleeds.
A thin scar spans the length of his left palm. Made by Bren’s treasured pocket knife, its’ the reminder of a blood pact he made with his brothers as children.
Tattoos/Piercings: This man is covered in tattoos. Left arm:
Family crest on the inside of his forearm. It’s a massive wisteria tree on a hill with the sun rising behind it.
Infinity symbol curling around his wrist. It looks like a musical staff with several notes.
A trio of fox kits chase a red butterfly down the outside of his forearm.
Musical staff around his bicep. The staff contains notation and a few lyrics written in Hingashi.
Right arm:
Azure Ourobros on the outside of his forearm.
Slumping marionette with severed strings on the outside of his bicep.
Fleur de lis on the inside of his wrist.
A Punch ‘n Judy stage with the titular characters on the inside of his bicep.
Words from his favourite poem on the inside of his forearm.
Full body:
From his jawline to his toes, he is covered in runic tattoos that are only visible when he uses magic. They glow a vivid violet during his spellcasting and should you catch a glimpse of them, the runes come from a language thought long dead.
First Appearances:  An enormous elf in a three-piece suit with impeccable grooming. If his expression isn’t telling the world he eats lemons for every meal, then it’s probably telling you that you’re wasting his time... and his time is not cheap.
What To Expect: Expect him to be a caustic son of a bitch. Dhel is a paranoid, guarded man and he has no interest in sugarcoating anything. Expect the cold, hard truth as he sees it, expect plenty of snark, and expect him to be difficult to get to know. He’s not the sort of grump just waiting for someone to be nice to him so his ice will thaw--don’t expect him to be a sweet, loving person after only a couple of meetings. But if you do manage to get on his good side and work your way into his inner circle, expect him to move heaven and earth for you.
Where I RP: Tumblr, Discord, and Google Docs mostly. I don’t do much RP in-game.
I’ve been told I am intimidating and people are afraid to approach, but I can assure you I am insanely shy and about as intimidating as fighting a feather pillow. I am quiet and have some trouble keeping a conversation going if I think I’m bothering you or think you aren’t interested, but I’m polite and I won’t bite your head off. So if you want to RP with Dhel or any of his brothers, just send a message. Or drop a starter in the inbox. Either way.

Danganronpa V3 Commentary: Part 4.5
Be aware that this is not a blind playthrough! This will contain spoilers for the entire game, regardless of the part of the game I’m commenting on. A major focus of this commentary is to talk about all of the hints and foreshadowing of events that are going to happen and facts that are going to be revealed in the future of the story. It is emphatically not intended for someone experiencing the game for their first time.
Last time in chapter 4, Maki opened up about her past, she and Shuichi and Kaito were ADORABLE FRIENDS, Kaito was a huge hypocrite on the topic of burdens, twice, Kokichi helpfully suggested some improvements to Monokuma’s script like an absolute moron, and Kaito’s bonus training for his sidekicks was totally not him desperately trying to prove that they still need him or anything.
Now for the last of chapter 4’s free time!
Shuichi:  (What can *I* do? The only thing I’m good at is solving mysteries, but I can’t figure out this academy.)
That’s not the only thing you’re good at, Shuichi! Your detective’s brain also makes you pretty good at coming up with plans. That plan with the cameras in chapter 1 was really not a bad plan if you ignore the fact that the entire premise of it (that the mastermind wouldn’t have a way of knowing about it) was flawed. But of course Shuichi wouldn’t think that or want to attempt something like that again since it indirectly got Kaede killed.
Keebo:  “What can we each do to make sure that we all survive…? We all possess Ultimate talents. There *must* be something we can do.”
YES IT’S ALMOST LIKE THE ULTIMATE ROBOT COULD GET US OUT OF HERE OR SOMETHING.
Geez. I was mostly not being too mad at Keebo because I figured he was largely oblivious to the difference his weapons could have made anyway, but this makes it a whole lot less excusable. (And again, there is no indication given that he’s not doing so because of his inner voice, which is the only truly justifiable reason that would make sense within the story.)
So that’s even more reason for me to not hang out with Keebo here like I wasn’t going to anyway, because that should by all rights lead to Shuichi persuading him to use his weapons and get everyone out of here today. And that’s obviously not in line with canon.
Gonta:  “Hi, Shuichi! How can Gonta help you today?”
Heh, this mostly just sounds like a polite, gentlemanly greeting, but in this chapter’s context, it definitely has undertones of “please tell Gonta he can help you today, Gonta really wants to be able to help you today”. Sorry, Gonta, I’d love to, but we’re already best friends; Shuichi needs to spread his friendship around others too.
Miu is in the computer room as she was all day yesterday as well, but interestingly, right now Kokichi’s hanging around in the corridor not too far from it too. He does apparently help her set things up for their Virtual World trip, so maybe that’s what he’s doing right now.
Despite Kaito not showing up anywhere on the Monopad’s map due to what is presumably a programming oversight (even characters who aren’t available should have their locations shown, with the understandable exception of Kokichi in chapter 5), he does exist during this free time slot and is perfectly available to hang out. The wiki says he is unavailable right now; the wiki is wrong. He’s in the warehouse. You’re welcome.
(The first time I played through this game myself, during which one of my missions was to find every piece of optional dialogue I might not have seen from Youtube playthroughs, I was determined not to give up on finding Kaito here and resolved to manually check EVERY SINGLE ROOM IN THE SCHOOL IF I HAD TO. Thankfully I started from the bottom up and the warehouse is on the first floor.)
Kaito’s reason for being in the warehouse probably has something to do with the fact that it apparently contains medicine. Like, you know, painkillers and stuff.
Kaito:  “I can see my training is already having results for you and Maki Roll.”
It is, and Kaito has every right to be proud of himself for that!
But it’s also interesting that while a lot of the characters are focusing on thinking about what they can do, since that’s what they discussed at breakfast, Kaito is instead focusing on what he already has done. Almost as if thinking about what he can do in future is painful and discouraging because there’s almost nothing he can do (short of suggesting even more bonus training for his sidekicks, which still isn’t going to help them escape), and so he doesn’t want to dwell on that.
Kaito:  “But don’t slow down here! It’s important to keep up your training every day.”
It is! Shuichi and Maki (with the addition of Himiko) are absolutely going to keep up their training every day when they get out of here.
(Also, remember back in chapter 2 when I mentioned that I’d started doing exercise myself thanks to Kaito? I’ve been doing that every single day for a little bit over a year now, and it’ll be several months more than that by the time this part I’m writing actually gets posted. Kaito is the best.)
Anyway, we’ve been on a roll with Maki lately in the rest of the story (pun totally intended), so let’s continue that by hanging out with her, shall we?
She happens to be in the dining hall, which is just across the corridor from the warehouse and therefore tantalisingly close to where Kaito is. They could all hang out as a trio again! Kaito would also want to hear more of Maki’s heartbreaking backstory! No? No. Silly game mechanics.
Maki:  “Something only I can do… I can think of just one thing. …I know what you’re about to say. But… that’s the reality.”
Oh, Maki. That’s not the only thing you can do!
Maki:  “Of course, I’ll think about… other things I can do.”
Exactly! You can fight and protect us!
Shuichi:  “I didn’t know that assassins were scouted.”
As the event proper begins, Shuichi just straight-up continues the conversation they were having last night. This is why I had to save Maki’s third FTE until now at the earliest – because having this before that scene just does not make sense.
Maki:  “It’s better if you didn’t know. Also, there’s no need for you to know.”
I dunno, Maki, if more people knew that there were child-slave assassins out there then maybe some people would be able to do something about it and this horrendous practice might stop. She just can’t see it that way, because she’s had to accept this as her reality in order to cope.
Maki:  “The orphanage I was raised at was run for that reason.”
Shuichi:  “…What do you mean?”
Maki:  “To raise potential candidates for assassins.”
Yup, that’s the truth of her orphanage. That’s not remotely fucked up at all.
Shuichi:  (How much is Maki carrying on her shoulders…? Such small shoulders…)
Heh. You sound like Kaito, Shuichi.
Maki:  “The basic training forces your body to go beyond its human limitations. They physically beat us to help us withstand torture, and taught us how to die when needed…”
Happy fun Free Time with upbeat music as our friend casually tells us about how she was tortured.
(It really is a shame Kaito couldn’t be here to hear this too. He would 1000% want to help her carry this awful burden just like Shuichi is doing, even though all they can do is listen.)
Maki:  “The only option left when you fail a mission is to die, right? Dying sooner is the nicer way out. It’s much better than being tortured alive.”
…I mean, she failed that one mission with the katana and didn’t have to die for it. I guess what she’s really talking about is if she were to get captured by an enemy of the assassin cult that would use her for information.
At least this means that when they’re all considering group suicide in chapter 5, Maki would know how to also kill herself painlessly at the end of it. You know. Reassuring thoughts.
Shuichi:  (I can’t bear to think of what Maki had to go through…)
I know, Shuichi. It may have never really happened to her, but she’s still having to live now with the memory of it, believing that it really happened to her, and that’s not fucking fair at all.
Maki:  “They tried to drag my dignity and tear it… To make me feel empty…”
They were trying to turn her into an empty, cold-blooded killer without a heart. And they didn’t succeed.
Maki:  “I wouldn’t have accepted the job in the first place if I knew I couldn’t do it… But most importantly… If I broke, then *that girl* would replace me…”
We’ll hear more about this next time, but she’s talking about her best friend from the orphanage. She put herself through what she knew would be literal torture and refused to break under it because if she did, then her best friend would go through that instead. God, Maki is amazing.
(Again, technically none of that really happened to her, but thanks to those fake memories, the person standing here is someone who really would do that kind of thing.)
Shuichi:  “That girl?”
Maki:  “… Sorry… Pretend you didn’t hear any of that just now.”
But it seems like, at least for right now, she’s not quite ready to open up that much. She’ll get there, though.
Kokichi:  “I bumped into Kaito, and he ended up giving me a lecture. He told me to think of a way to escape…”
Kaito has still been trying to get through to Kokichi! He still hasn’t given up on Kokichi and believes there’s some semblance of a decent person inside him who actually wants them all to escape! Kaito is so good.
(It also seems that, despite his earlier declarations, Kaito realised that punching him again might give off the wrong impression and decided to just stick to words this time.)
Kokichi:  “But the only idea I can think of is becoming the blackened myself.”
And… Kaito’s not wrong about Kokichi, but he is underestimating how massively, completely inconceivable it is to Kokichi to actually acknowledge that buried part of himself and start being co-operative. What’s about to happen tonight isn’t going to be for lack of Kaito trying to stop it, but even Kaito isn’t enough here.
Kokichi:  “That’d entertain everyone.”
Which is exactly what Monokuma wants, you are playing right into his hands and you should know this, you goddamn idiot.
Gonta:  “Nrgh… Gonta tired… Gonta think too much…”
Awww, Gonta. He’s been trying so hard.
Gonta:  “Rest is important, too… Gonta have to make sure he not useless when everyone need him!”
“When”. He’s still managing to stay so optimistic that that time will come. (Which it will. Sooner and far more tragically than you think, Gonta. Gaaaaah.)
Anyway, this time, in the very last chance we have for it, we’re hanging out with Kaito. Come on, now – you didn’t really think for a second I was going to go through the story without maxing out his FTEs, did you?
Kaito:  “O-Oh, Shuichi… What’s the matter?”
Just like he did a day ago, Kaito doesn’t seem super-thrilled to suddenly encounter Shuichi wanting to talk to him.
Kaito:  “Yeah, I don’t mind talking, but… My stomach hurts a little. Can we talk somewhere I can rest?”
But this time, he’s actually being somewhat honest about what the problem is. That’s pretty remarkable. Sure, for Kaito to be admitting to Shuichi that his stomach hurts a little, it must really be hurting one hell of a lot, but still. Kaito being willing to show even just a tiny bit of vulnerability in front of his sidekick is such a big deal and warms my heart. It’s okay, Kaito. Shuichi isn’t going to be any less inspired by you just because you’re struggling with a lot of things yourself, you absolute wonderful moron.
Shuichi:  (I spent some time with Kaito… Didn’t he say his stomach hurt last night too? I hope he’s okay…)
I’m sure Kaito hates the fact that his tiny nugget of honesty is making Shuichi worry about him and doesn’t want him to do so at all… but Shuichi absolutely should be worried about his friend.
Kaito:  “Hey, you got a minute? I got something to talk about.”
Shuichi:  “Ah, okay…” (He seems upset…)
Shuichi’s already getting the sense that there’s something more forceful about Kaito than usual as we start the event proper, and boy is there a reason for that.
Shuichi:  (Did I do something to make him angry?)
This, however, is not that reason. But of course Shuichi is lacking enough in self-assurance that he would immediately think this is somehow his fault. Of course it wouldn’t ever occur to him that maybe Kaito has issues and problems of his own and that might be what’s at the root of this rather than Shuichi having done anything wrong. (And this won’t be the only time Shuichi misunderstands Kaito in literally exactly this way.)
Kaito:  “I’m just gonna say it! What are you moping around for!?”
Shuichi:  “What?”
Kaito:  “When my sidekick is moping, it really ticks me off!”
Shuichi:  (I’m… moping?)
Shuichi isn’t moping. He’s still not a shining paragon of confidence or anything, but he’s been able to be a lot stronger and more positive lately. His own reaction to Kaito’s accusation just now shows that even he didn’t really think there was anything he was being particularly negative about, even though Shuichi is usually his own biggest critic.
Kaito disapproves of moping because it’s just wallowing in your negative feelings without making an effort to make it better. But in this context, the effort to make it better that Shuichi is supposedly avoiding would be asking Kaito for help. Right now, “Why are you moping?” really translates to “Why aren’t you letting me help you?”
Kaito:  “I told you, man! Don’t hesitate to talk to me if something’s wrong. But you’re still keeping stuff from me! Am I not reliable enough!? Spit it out! If you bottle everything up, it can’t get fixed!”
What this whole thing really is is Kaito projecting weakness and worries onto Shuichi in another desperate attempt to show that Shuichi still needs his help. His “Am I not reliable enough!?” in particular shows what’s really going on. Kaito is terrified that he really isn’t reliable enough, not now that he’s dying and Shuichi solved the previous trial entirely without him and is seemingly strong enough that maybe he doesn’t really need Kaito’s support any more.
(It could also perhaps seem like Kaito is projecting his own behaviour of hiding his illness from his friends, but like last time, I don’t think the fact that he is incidentally being hypocritical here is the point. If the point was Kaito deflecting, that’d mean that acting like he wants to help Shuichi would just be an excuse to distract from his own problems. But of course Kaito wanting to help Shuichi could never be an excuse – Kaito always wants to help Shuichi, and that’s the real problem.)
Shuichi:  “I’m sorry, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m not looking for advice…”
Kaito:  “You’ve got some guts trying to lie to me.”
Shuichi:  “…”
He’s not lying! Shuichi wouldn’t lie to Kaito, not about his own weaknesses and struggles, nor about wanting Kaito’s advice for his problems. He may sometimes hesitate to talk about what’s bothering him until Kaito prods him a little, but he has never and would never outright lie about it once prodded if something really was wrong. And if that wasn’t proof enough, Shuichi’s staring at Kaito here with a sceptical face like he’s wondering why Kaito even thinks this.
Kaito should know perfectly well that Shuichi isn’t lying here. So it’s really quite delightfully messed up that he would rather tell himself Shuichi is lying to him than face the idea that Shuichi doesn’t need him.
(Even though the only way in which that’s really true is that Shuichi happens to not particularly need his help right now. That’s a completely different thing from not needing him at all… but Kaito doesn’t seem to realise that.)
A couple of times previously, Kaito did a similar thing of starting off a conversation with someone by trying to make it about him listening to their troubles and helping them – once with Kaede in an invitation dialogue, and once in his first FTE with Shuichi. Both those times, though, when they didn’t need to talk to him about anything, he accepted that and was happy to start talking about something else. But not this time.
Kaito:  “Fine then! Listen up…”
Shuichi:  (Kaito encouraged me, complimenting me about my talent.)
If Shuichi isn’t going to ask for Kaito’s help despite Kaito insisting that he totally should be doing so, Kaito’s going to help him anyway, aggressively complimenting him and telling him he’s awesome so that Shuichi can see how inspiring and encouraging and important Kaito still definitely is. (Really, Shuichi had no reason to have ever stopped thinking that about Kaito in the first place, but apparently Kaito doesn’t see it that way.)
You may have noticed from the way I’ve been talking about this event that I’ve been casually assuming despite the flexibility of FTEs that this is definitely taking place during chapter 4, and that all of this is a part of Kaito’s canonical arc that I’ve been talking about the rest of the time. And the thing is, this event really does have to take place in chapter 4, going by the keeping-FTEs-in-line-with-canon logic I’ve been using. Kaito’s fourth FTE mentioned Shuichi being his sidekick, putting that in chapter 3 at the earliest, and while there are two slots in which Kaito is available in chapter 3, the second of those has him already feeling too unwell for it to be believable that a proper FTE would have canonically happened then. So this fifth and final one has to happen, not necessarily this late, but definitely during this chapter.
But even if that weren’t the case, I’d still consider this event practically a canonical part of this chapter. While nothing in it explicitly mentions chapter 4-specific details, this is so clearly written for Kaito’s chapter 4 state of mind as he desperately tries to compensate for the fact that he’s dying by being as helpful as he can to his sidekicks. It fits in beautifully with the rest of the hints toward that we’ve had so far up to this point – in fact, this event is significantly less subtle about it than anything else has been, which is why I’m happy I saved it until the end like this.
Shuichi:  (I should tell him… Then he’d understand why. I told him all about the case that got me the title of Ultimate Detective. I told him everything… so that he would know how untalented I really am.)
However, it seems like all of Kaito’s aggressive compliments just made Shuichi feel like he doesn’t deserve them and actually start to feel bad about himself. Now, at least, he has something to talk about that Kaito might be able to help him with, even though he genuinely didn’t need to talk about this when this conversation began.
(I don’t think Kaito was deliberately intending to bring Shuichi’s issues out by complimenting him, though. That’s far too underhanded and manipulative for Kaito to do no matter what state of mind he’s in. Plus, I’m not sure he’s even that consciously aware of the reasons he’s been acting this way, which he’d have to be for this to be deliberate.)
Kaito:  “I see… So you were chosen after you solved a case.”
Shuichi:  “Yes, and the most important part… I just happened to find some evidence that was missed. I accidentally solved the puzzle. It was all coincidence, happenstance…”
As soon as Kaito says something that puts things in a vaguely positive-sounding light, Shuichi’s immediately jumping to insist that no, that’s not the point, he barely even deserved to solve that case. It’s hard to know how true it is that it was all just a coincidence, but I’m inclined to think it wasn’t. Even if it is just a matter of Shuichi noticing something everyone else missed, that’s still him having better observation skills than anyone else on that case, which is something that’s important for a detective to have. Shuichi’s just likely to not want to give himself enough credit what with how much the outcome of the case traumatised him.
Kaito:  “Geez… You worry about the most trivial stuff, man.”
Kaito, you’re the one who was fishing for Shuichi to be worrying about even the tiniest thing so that you’d have an excuse to help him.
Shuichi:  “You have no right to say that! You don’t know what I’ve been through!”
Kaito:  “Hah! Nice! It’s good to see you actually have some bite to you.”
Shuichi’s response is a dialogue option that I picked, but I like this one, because I enjoy Kaito being proud of him for being able to stand by his own feelings, not even caring that Shuichi doing so involved snapping at him.
(Mind you, Shuichi was also standing by his own feelings earlier when he was asserting that he didn’t need any advice from Kaito right now, and Kaito was much less on board with that, but, you know.)
Regardless, when Kaito said “trivial”, he was really talking about the culprit’s feelings.
Kaito:  “He killed someone and was trying to get away with it! He’s a bad guy!”
This is an instance of Kaito’s often fairly black-and-white way of thinking, but even so, him putting things this simplistically helps Shuichi move away from worrying about how the culprit felt. Even if the guy wanted revenge, that still doesn’t justify murder, so Shuichi was right to expose him for it. Kaede and Kirumi’s crimes so far during this killing game were much less black-and-white, such that Shuichi has a decent reason to feel at least a little bad about cornering them, but that one guy? Screw him, he’s nothing like them.
Kaito:  “If he’d gotten away with it, he’d be crushed by the weight of his guilt. But you got him before that happened! He should be thanking you!”
It’s also very appropriately Kaito of him to see Shuichi’s job of catching criminals as important because it forces the criminals to take responsibility instead of running away from their own actions and the pain they caused. I especially love that Kaito even sees this as a good thing for the culprit himself. This will be a very relevant idea during this upcoming case in particular, in terms of a certain someone Kaito has already been trying to get through to a lot.
Kaito:  “I’ll support you all the way! I know you did the right thing!”
This might still be Kaito overzealously trying to compensate for his own feelings of inferiority, but it’s adorable all the same. This is all Shuichi really needs from him at this point – not necessarily major advice on specific problems, but just knowing that Kaito’s there for him and on his side no matter what. You’re already doing enough, Kaito. Just keep being you.
Kaito:  “And not just with that guy! From now on, if anyone holds a grudge against you… I’ll kick their ass!”
This is not ironic foreshadowing to the extent that one might think, because Kaito is never going to hold a grudge against Shuichi, however much it might seem that way. Of course, Kaito would also definitely want to kick the ass of anyone who even seems to hold a grudge against Shuichi, even briefly, just because doing so would hurt him. So… that’s a thing.
Kaito:  “So you just gotta follow the path you believe in! You’re my sidekick. So don’t hold back, and rely on me whenever you need to!”
These are Kaito’s voiced lines for his final event, and they couldn’t be more appropriate. They’re adorably full of him believing in and supporting Shuichi, with just a dash of that delightful undertone of him desperately wanting Shuichi to still rely on him even if maybe Shuichi doesn’t need to quite as much any more.
Shuichi:  “Kaito… thank you.” (Alright, so he’s foolhardy. But he supports me and expects nothing in return… He does so much for me… I could never turn my back on that. I will never betray his support and trust. I will never break my bond with Kaito!)
While Shuichi is completely oblivious to what’s going on with Kaito and why he’s being so aggressively supportive right now, it’s still just absolutely heartmelting how grateful he is for everything Kaito does for him and trusts him so wholeheartedly in return. For all of Kaito’s issues that this event has been subtly full of, they’re still incredible, adorable friends, which comes across so strongly here. Most FTEs, when they end on emphasising how much the protagonist has become friends with the subject, are kind of dampened by the knowledge that this is just an optional side thing that isn’t really there in the canon storyline. But here, this just serves to highlight the canon adorable friendship between these two even more and I love it.
And if only Kaito could hear everything Shuichi is thinking here. He would never turn his back on you, Kaito! No matter what weaknesses you might have and no matter what mistakes you might make! You have so much less to be afraid of than you think.
Shuichi:  “…I understand, Kaito.”
…Shuichi doesn’t really understand. He only understands the fact that Kaito will always be there for him, and while that’s true (or at least, Kaito has no intention of ever making it untrue), that’s not remotely the full picture here.
Shuichi:  “I will always depend on you.”
This sounds adorable on the surface, but is potentially pretty messed up if you think about it too hard. Ideally, what Shuichi means is, “I will always depend on you when I need to”, which is the healthy way of looking at it – everyone needs to depend on other people sometimes, and it’s great that Kaito will always be there for him during those times.
But… that might not actually be what Shuichi means. I’ve mentioned multiple times that Shuichi is pretty overly dependent, hence him latching onto Kaede and Kaito so easily… so he might be okay with the idea of always needing to depend on on Kaito. Which he shouldn’t! Nobody should want to be constantly dependent on someone else their entire life, and it’s especially unhealthy if it’s on one single person, no matter how reliable and genuinely well-meaning that person may be. Shuichi should want to become someone who doesn’t need to depend on someone else most of the time, even if that someone else is Kaito.
Kaito:  “Yeah! Just leave it to me!”
Under normal circumstances, Kaito would probably be able to pick up on this and recognise that it’s unhealthy and assert that Shuichi should be striving to become more independent. After all, his former sidekicks he mentioned last FTE no longer need him any more, and he seemed perfectly happy with that.
But in the state of mind Kaito’s in by this chapter, he’s not about to do that. Kaito may be a little bit like this even at the best of times, but right now especially he has become incredibly co-dependent – meaning, he’s pathologically dependent on the idea that someone else depends on him. He needs to be needed. And that’s pretty messed up of him too. There is definitely a large part of Kaito that’s worried Shuichi already doesn’t really need him any more – but he’s not letting that part have a say and continuing to insist that of course Shuichi should be constantly depending on him.
Shuichi’s dependency and Kaito’s co-dependency make them a perfect match for each other in a wonderfully messed-up kind of way, and that dysfunctionality lurking beneath the surface is another of the many reasons I enjoy their friendship so much. If it weren’t for this, things wouldn’t be about to fall apart like they do, and this chapter and the beginning of the next wouldn’t be nearly as delightfully heartwrenching.
Shuichi:  (Kaito’s smile was as bright as starlight. I couldn’t help but smile back.)
Bright like he’s a luminary or something! Space imagery! FRIENDS.
Shuichi:  (…Everything is going to be okay. As long as we have this, we can move forward.)
Oh boy, it sure—
isn’t going to be even remotely okay barely twenty-four hours from now.
Shuichi:  (Sometimes I feel as though I’m dragging him down, but I know I’ll catch up one day.)
You’re not, though, Shuichi! This could not be more completely opposite of how Kaito sees things! Kaito feels like he’s the one dragging Shuichi down, which is precisely why we just had this whole event of him desperately trying to show that he isn’t and that Shuichi can still benefit from his support! But Kaito has apparently managed to successfully convince Shuichi that he’s completely invincible and doesn’t have any problems of his own, so Shuichi has no goddamn clue.
Shuichi:  (I bet he’d laugh and tell me I have a lot of nerve for a sidekick.)
He wouldn’t, though. The entire point of Kaito’s sidekicks is supposed to be that one day they’ll reach even greater heights than him – we went over that in his previous FTE. Kaito should laugh and then tell Shuichi how proud he is of him for coming this far. I guess Shuichi genuinely never did realise that most of the reason Kaito was telling him about his former sidekicks was to imply that the same thing applies to him.
Or, at least… Kaito should show pride in Shuichi if Shuichi ever overtook him. But that’s Kaito at the best of times, and those are not the times he’s in right now.
In the report card summary for this event, there’s also a very similar line to the one from before:
“Kaito, I know it seems as though you’re dragging me along, but I’ll be right there beside you.”
This is such a delightfully ironic line, and the writers clearly knew exactly how important it is since they essentially included it twice. Oh, Shuichi, if only you had any idea just how completely backwards you have it. If only Kaito would tell you what’s really going on in his head, and then you could support him in return and help him figure things out. But then, this is Kaito we’re talking about here.
All of Kaito’s previous FTEs featured him talking about himself, like FTEs are supposed to. And in general, the final event in particular is meant to involve the subject talking about their biggest issues now that they feel comfortable doing so because of their growing friendship with the protagonist, and maybe having the protagonist help them a little with that. But in Kaito’s final one, he doesn’t talk about himself at all. Because of course Kaito would never talk about his issues, especially not to Shuichi, who needs to see him as strong and invincible in order to be able to rely on him, or so Kaito is irrationally convinced. (And if he somehow miraculously did talk about his issues and Shuichi helped him with them, that’d probably mean that what’s about to happen in the main storyline shouldn’t happen the way it does any more, which we absolutely can’t have.)
Yet this final free time event of Kaito’s still manages to be thoroughly about his issues, not even despite the fact that he doesn’t talk about himself and makes it all about Shuichi’s issues instead, but precisely because of it. It is so appropriate for Kaito that things should be this way, and I love it.

How would Kaede, Shuichi and Kaito react to their s/o grieving over loosing their pet dog they love?
Ok at first I had trouble figuring out if the dog died or got lost but it was too late to ask since I was done with Kaede after I started thinking.
And to be completely honest I felt like I was about to cry when I was writing this since it's almost been a year since my dog died- I had him for about 10 years and he died exactly a month after my birthday... But the worst part was that I was asleep when it happened and I just woke up to my mom freaking out holding his body and looking for his documents so she could take him to the vet... So I thought that I understand more this kind of loss since my dog often ran off but it didn't took long before we found him. He was a bit silly-. So if this request is referring to what happened to you irl annon stay strong! I know you can do it
Tumblr media
Kaede Shuichi and Kaito react to their S/O grieving over losing their dog
D/N- dog's name
Kaede Akamatsu
When Kaede saw you crying she immediately gave you the warmest hug and asked what happened. And she couldn't belive her ears when she heard the news.
Kaede herself started to tear up since she also loved your dog but not as much as you of course.
At first she wanted to ask if you were about to get new dog or pet in general but it wasn't the right time. Now you needed her support.
The two of you quietly sat on the couch and hugged each other very closely and it made you remember the times when your dog whould sometimes join your cuddlesessions too...
For now Kaede wanted you to let it all out and cry all you wanted. Even though she was crying too she pat your back "Stay strong S/O I know its tough but I believe in you" it took you a while to slightly calm down.
But boy you knew that it's not over and you were going to need a lot of comforting. Even picking up D/N's toys is heartbreaking... You weren't sure if you even wanted new dog but for now you decided to keep its belongings.
Kaede never let you be alone in this as she made sure to allways be there to comfort you. She thought it was the best way.
And so she helped you every day and you started going out so you could stop thinking about it. Whenever you were indoors she played piano for you if you wanted to listen of course.
Shuichi Saihara
He was surprised to see you crying and that's when you told him what happened wich made you cry even more...
Shuichi couldn't stand seeing you cry but he knew that there wasn't anything he could do right now.
So you ended up cuddling for the time being. Shuichi kept silent entire time since he just thought it was a bad idea to say anything at that point.
He was giving you both space and comfort since he was aware of the fact that you needed some time to think. You have right to do so and he can't possibly blame you either since he knew well enough how attached you were.
After weeks passed he asked you if you wanted new pet. But not as an replacement but it will be something to fill emptiness your dog's death brought.
(If you agreed) Before you did anything you had to ansver for yourself if you wanted a dog or other pet? No matter what you decided Shuichi was fine with it as long as he gets to see you smile.
(if you disagreed/weren't sure) Shuichi respected your decision and never brought up this topic. Of course this won't change what happened... So Shuichi tried to find something to help you.
It all ended up in you two looking up some random stuff to try out! It was quite fun and you spent a lot of time together. Thanks to that you were able to get your mind off it for some time.
Now whenever he saw you down Shuichi gave you few more seconds alone untill he approached you. Then you were sharing memories of D/N but you didn't cry even though you know that you won't see it ever again. After so many conversations about it you learned how to stay calm.
Kaito Momota
As soon as he saw you cry he dashed towards you asking what's wrong. You were crying so hard it was hard to say it but he managed to get it.
He asked you just in case becouse he could misunderstood it. But he was right... Your dog died...
At the time he was shocked but you needed him so he couldn't fail you no matter what. So he let you cry on his shoulder while he hugged you like he whould never let you go. Kaito decided to wait until you quiet down but he tried to cheer you up.
So then what he was waiting for? He asked if you wanted to go outside and train with him since this whould probably make you think of it less since you whould most likely to get exhausted.
It seemed like a good idea so Kaito pick a place where there was no way to encounter a dog.
After workout you went back home or so you thought. It was quite dark so you didn't notice when you were in the middle of the park.
He set a blanket on the ground and the two of you stargazed together. This was another Kaito-way to deal with it and get your mind off it.
Ok so now you were home for real. It was late and you were exhausted so you went to sleep.
Next day Kaito had another plan but he didn't do anything untill afternoon. The two of you took simple walk but you didn't know where you were going.
You ended up in a bowling club and you saw a lot of your classmates. Kaito didn't told them what happened but you just ended up having good time on class reunion.
And so you were going out every day untill you got better.

For the 100 Random Prompts ask: Tsukumo Yuma and 90 :D
from the, as I call it, “100 prompts meme”Summary: Once Yuma set his eyes on something, there was no way he’d let go.Word count: 2.608Note: on Sunday, I was writing about a heavily depressing scene so it did take me a while to even get herebut for goodness’ sake, I think I can’t comedy… OTL (also, this wasn’t supposed to get this long ^^; I guess I got carried away)
Rio snickered into her hand while hiding her mischievous grin.“Don’t!” Ryoga barked, a warning in his tone that still sounded embarrassed and annoyed.“Who could’ve thought that you, my dearest brother, would lose- ”“Shut up!” her twin shouted, irritated, before he continued to munch on the rice of his bento. He didn’t mean on prying on them. All he wanted to do in the break that finally arrived after a very long and draining lesson was to eat in peace with his friends. Even if he had no idea where Kotori was. But this bit in the twin’s conversation was enough for Yuma’s eyes to widen in shock. He had long forgotten the topic he and his friends were talking about. He couldn’t even tell if anyone noticed it and tried to bring him back into the conversation. Or if Astral was even talking to him. It was too hard to believe for him that Shark, of all people, would lose. And especially to someone who wasn’t him. He wondered for a short second if his opponent had been Kaito. The urge to find out more prickled over his skin. Without any other word to his friends, he darted behind them and almost leapt in front of the twin. They shriek and held their bentos out of reach from Yuma.“Who was it?!”Breathing heavily, the twins look at each other.“Wh- what- ”“Who did you duel?!” Yuma clarified his question.Ryoga gasped that almost sounded like choking. Rio laughed at him. Her twin’s cheek turned crimson red as Yuma’s friends joined them. Everyone but Yuma could see that he wanted to hide from all of them.“Who did you duel?!” Yuma asked him again. “Who was it?! Who beat you?!”The last sentence provoked an even greater waterfall of burning questions from Yuma’s friends. On top of them was Yuma, still trying his hardest to find out who on earth Shark dueled and who this magnificent duelist was to even beat him.“Believe it or not- ”“No, Rio – stop!” Ryoga tried to defend the last bit of his dignity but to no avail.“Our sweet and beautiful Mizuki- ”“Rio!”“Ko-to-ri!” his twin sister spilled with utter glee in her magenta coloured eyes.Ryoga slapped a hand on to his face while the other students around them, minus his sister, gaped at him with open mouths. Only Cathy remembered her manners and covered it with her clawed hands.“No way… ,” Tetsuo mumbled.“It is!” Rio said with a proud smile and crossed her arms.“H- how?! And why-ura?!” Tokunosuke wondered in astonishment.“So, to summarize… ,” the class representative Todoroki tried to phrase, “you weren’t just pitying her, were you?”Rio snickered again. “He didn’t even have had the time to with her crazy combos!”“Rio!” Ryoga hissed once more.“I mean – she obliterated him in her first turn!”That caused another round of gaping at them. It was visibly clear that Kotori’s friends had a hard time believing her. But then again, all of them knew that Rio wasn’t a liar. And Ryoga’s embarrassed posture spoke volumes. It was all Yuma needed to dash off the roof. No yelling voice could stop him. He darted down the stairs, past the classrooms to get to the schoolyard. There, he finally spotted her, chatting blissfully with her two friends Sei, Sachi and Aki.“Kotori!” he yelled, wheezing and panting. The recipient as well as a dozen other students flinched. Kotori turned around to him. The other students slowly returned to their own conversation and what they did as soon as they saw that it was Yuma who shouted like this.“Yuma, what on earth are you- ”“Duel me!”Kotori blinked surprised.“ …Excuse me?”“You heard me right! Duel me!”»You’re not even in the right condition to duel,« Astral chided him with a tired sigh.“Shut it! It’s always – a good time… to duel!” Yuma responded and still gasped for air.But much to his surprise, a cocky expression appeared on Kotori’s face. She smirked at him.“No.”Yuma’s eyes widen for the second time during this break. Her friends whispered quietly to her.“Kotori!” he whined and extended the last syllable.“Are you really sure?” Sachi asked her, stunned.“You improved so much!” Aki added.“Why don’t you want to further test your skills?” Sei wondered.“I won’t duel you,” his friend told him. She crossed her arms. “That is… not yet… ”This was practically a ‘yes’ to his challenge.“Prepare yourself, Kotori!” he said and readied his Duel Disk. But Kotori held up her hand in a graceful way.“Easy there, Yuma. I said ‘not yet’.”Yuma’s posture almost went limb as if he was a balloon and Kotori just stabbed him with a needle.“Why?!” he whined again.“You’ll have to do me a favour first,” Kotori answered and strolled towards him.Yuma knit his eyebrows.“Why?”Kotori snickered.“For starters, eat a bowl of vegetables, containing cucumber, bell pepper – you decide its colour –, and, most importantly, tomatoes!”At first, Yuma eyed her in confusion. After the last ingredient, his eyes widen a third time. But then he remembered his duel against Yasai Hosaku during the World Duel Carnival who was practically addicted to vegetables. He ate tomatoes during their duel and they didn’t even taste that bad. The ones they had at home were a completely different story, though. What a strange request. But he wouldn’t be Tsukumo Yuma if he’d chicken out of it.“Haha, no problem!” he boasted. The smirk on Kotori’s lips turned a bit more mischievous.“Really? Then let’s raise the stakes, shall we?” she prompted.“Hah! Bring it!”“You’ll make yourself the vegetable salad, about an hour before dinner. Actually, eat them raw. Don’t add any flavours like salad dressing or yoghurt. Also, you’ll send me selfies. One – making the salad, two – eating it, and three – finishing it. For. A. Whole. Week.”Yuma still thought that this request was really odd but he wanted to duel her way more and see for himself how much she had improved.»Shouldn’t you find out how she improved in the first place?« Astral wanted to know.“Deal! You’ll see – the week will be over in no time! Kattobingu da ore!”Kotori giggled again while Astral sighed and almost growled at the same time in annoyance.»Why are you like this, Yuma?!«“Can’t wait for your selfies, then!” Kotori chirped and strolled back into the school building as the bell demanded the students back to the lessons.
Much to his displeasure, it was easier said than done. He was rarely standing in the kitchen, usually either fir grabbing something to eat either from the fridge or sitting down at the dining table with his family. He had everything ready to make the salad – all three ingredients Kotori had asked him, a knife and a cutting board. But he was still very reluctant on getting on to the task Kotori had asked him for.»Don’t forget that you need to take a photograph of yourself.«“ …You’re not helping, man!” Yuma grumbled.Astral only shrugged. »I was more interested in finding out how she improved in such a short time. It’s not my fault you’re acting before you’re thinking.«Yuma grumbled a bit more. He heaved a sigh before taking the knife into his hand. But he still didn’t start chopping the ingredients. A quiet beeping from his Duel Disk distracted him. It was a message from Kotori. Are you eating dinner later this evening?Or are you simply skipping it? ;)–KotoriYuma grumbled.“I’m not skipping anything!” he promised, more to himself than to anyone in particular.» …I – didn’t say anything at all?« Astral countered, visibly and audibly confused. He didn’t read Kotori’s short message thus he didn’t understand that he was actually talking to her – even if she didn’t hear him. Yuma cleared his throat.“Anyway, as I was saying- ”»You weren’t saying anything, either,« Astral pointed out.Yuma pouted at him. He flinched, however, as his Duel Disk suddenly beeped. It was a video call. Even before he accepted it, Yuma already had an idea who called him. Once he saw the green locks of his best friend, he grumbled again.“What? Checking that I don’t chicken out?”Kotori snickered.“Actually, I just wanted to make sure that you washed the vegetables.”Astral blinked. »Huh? Why do you have to wash them before eating them?«“The dirt and sand and everything might not be the biggest issue,” Yuma answered.Kotori listened carefully.“I think it’s because of these… chemicals the farmers and so on use to kill… the things that attack the plants,” Yuma said, slowly. “Ne, Kotori – what are these chemicals called again?”“Pesticides. It sounds as if you’re trying to explain it to Astral.”“I am.”Kotori nodded. “They are actually intended to serve as plant protection products. You could imagine as protecting the plants – in this case, the vegetables – from harmful weeds, fungi, or insects.”Yuma shivered.“Eow, gross… ”“But you shouldn’t just wash them just because of this reason,” Kotori warned him. “This rule also implies to wholefood products – even if it’s forbidden by law to use pesticides but you never know who had been holding them in the end. Personally, I wouldn’t even trust the obots to the fullest. There still could be remnants of pesticides and harmful substances but as well as bad bacteria, fecal germs or mildew.”After her explanation, Yuma looked like he could vomit right into the sink. With an expression in his eyes that resembled some kind of a death glare, he stared back to the vegetables. Kotori snickered again.“Make sure to wash them properly, then you’re fine. After all, they are healthy- ”“I never cared about that!”Kotori sighed. “I know… ”“And most of them taste yikes!” He stuck out his tongue. While she closed her eyes and Yuma took all vegetables to wash them, Astral peered briefly to Kotori. Since Yuma was occupied with his task, he couldn’t see the soft expression in her eyes when she opened them again. He had a feeling that there maybe was a bit more to her request than just to mock her best friend a bit. After washing them, Kotori advised him on how to cut the vegetables without harming himself in the process. But since the most important nutritive substances, as Kotori called them, were in the skins rather than the vegetables’ flesh, she recommended him not to cut away the skins. His bowl was filled in due time.“ …You still want that selfie?”“Two selfies for today – when you eat the salad and when you empty the bowl. Since I already saw you preparing it,” Kotori answered. Then she winked at him with the cutest smile she had in store. “So I hope you enjoy your salad!”Yuma grimaced.
In the beginning, Yuma complained much and procrastinated much. Even if he was able to start the vegetable salad – particularly leaving out the tomatoes at first – and sent his best friend one of the two requested photographs, it still took him long after dinner to finish it. Astral was almost amazed that Yuma managed to choke down the tomato slices, albeit moaning and whining much. The second time he made himself a vegetable salad, he choked down the tomatoes right away. But after that, he had less trouble eating the rest of this vegetable salad. While doing it, Yuma diligently took the photographs for his best friend. However, Kotori pretended that she hadn’t received any photographs since the fourth day which was why she extended her request before accepting to duel Yuma. Although he whined to duel her right away, he never complained once because of her request anymore. Since long, Astral gave up on urging Yuma to find out as to why she suddenly improved her dueling skills. The human boy’s top priority was to fulfill her request as best as he could in order to finally duel her which was why any further try was for naught. When Kotori postponed his challenge a second time, Astral had a feeling that she was stalling. It seemed that she herself wasn’t ready to duel him just yet. Yuma, not realizing her possible procrastinating, still didn’t say anything against eating the vegetables before dinner. Because the change passed them barely unnoticed. Except for the tomatoes, Yuma had no problem with eating the bowl before dinner and slowly started to ask less and less for a third or even second portion. He even started to skip dessert altogether which has been a must since Astral lived with the human boy. By the end of the month, making himself the vegetable salad had become a habit for Yuma. It happened more than once per day that both, his sister as well as his grandmother asked him if he was sick. Yuma always denied irritated. It even happened that he took a bell pepper or half of a cucumber he cut into pieces before leaving his home, whether for school or any duels in the afternoon. Astral could barely remember the last time Yuma ate something fast food related. After a long and tiring school day, Yuma decided that he had had enough. He confronted her right after leaving the school building. Kotori blinked for a moment, and Astral thought she would postpone the duel again but much to his surprise, she complied with a quiet sigh. She nodded.“Okay, you win- ”Yuma cheered excitedly and quickly took out his Duel Disk.“Wait – let’s grab something to eat first- ”“Nah, I’m good. Oba-chan made me a super duper awesome bento for lunch!” He grinned while petting his belly at the thought of it and was barely able to hold back his drool.“Come to think of it – you finished it so fast, we didn’t really see what you brought with you,” their class representative mused.“What did you had in your bento anyway?” Tetsuo wanted to know.Yuma shrugged after a short moment.“Well… the usual, I’d guess – some tomato, cucumber and some eggplant slices, some renkon and white cabbage,” he counted. Right after that, he hummed a bit. “Man, who would’ve thought that renkon tastes so good?! I dig it!”The disbelieving and almost shocked expression that settled on every face of his friends escaped him while Yuma rambled on. Kotori then proceeded with giggling quietly and putting both of her hands around her nose and mouth. But this didn’t cover her blush.“I… guess it did get a bit out of hand… ?”Yuma stopped and turned around. “What got a bit out of hand?”Astral sighed.»She tricked you into eating more healthy food.«Yuma’s eyes widen in shock.“She did what?! Kotori!”“Well – you stopped stuffing yourself with greasy, ugly fast food so it was totally worth it!” Kotori tried to defend herself. They continued to quarrel for a bit before finally starting their duel. In the middle of the duel, Astral was able to espy both, Ryoga as well as Kaito near the school gate. As they seemed to quarrel as well, it slowly dawned to him. He couldn’t come up with any other reason as to why especially Kaito, who wasn’t a student from Heartland Academy, would come to this school. Kotori was able to improve so much in such a short time, and even managed to defeat Kamishiro Ryoga in a duel, because she requested both of their help.
A/N: little trivia – renkon is a root vegetable (the translation in German is “lotus root”, I just wasn’t able to find a direct translation into English for it, I’m sorry)

the first chapter of “Empathy without Sympathy”, aka the linked emotions oumota au! bonus points if you can tell who’s linked w/ each other aside from the obvious lmao (also it’s a bit longer than the stuff I normally post so I went ahead and linked it below)
read on AO3
---------------
He woke up with a deep unease brewing in the back of his mind. The type that tore across his entire body, constricting his muscles and leaving him shaky and nauseous. Kaito groaned, curling in on himself. That action was quickly reversed as the smell of blood hit his nose; a dark patch sat in the corner of his pillow where he’d spent parts of the night coughing into.
What a crappy way to start the morning.
Mentally berating himself for his weakness, he forced himself up, dragging his tired body to the bathroom to clean up. Fuck, why was he so fucking tense? He scowled at his reflection in the mirror, splashing water onto his face to resist the pull of negativity (and to clean the bits of blood off, but he didn’t want to think about that). Deep breathes, don’t cough, inhale, exhale. Everything was fine.
It calmed down, only to rise again with the morning announcement. He grit his teeth, trying to push down the sudden fear rising in his body. Dammit. He wasn’t scared of those stupid fucking bears. Thankfully this attack passed almost as soon as it came, though leaving him tired nonetheless. He felt a swell of empathy for Shuichi; it was clear from how he quivered like a leaf that he suffered from some sorta chronic anxiety issues, and dealing with this on a regular basis? Fuck, that had to be hell.
Though, the situation they were in was probably an even worse hell. He sighed, tossing his jacket on and leaving for breakfast, greeting a downtrodden Shuichi after a few minutes of lingering around. That wasn't surprising; the murders of Angie and Chabashira and the trial that had followed the day before had been rough on the entire group.
He herded his sidekick towards the cafeteria, pushing any distracting thoughts to the side. It’d be bad if he made the others worry; weakness from him would lead to fear in the group. He was the leader figure after all, so he had to keep everyone together to avoid another murder.
Of course, Ouma had to make that difficult. Even without the dark mood lingering over the hall, him opening his lying mouth was always a pain. At least he wasn’t moping like the rest of the group, though Kaito couldn’t say if that was from a lack of concern or what.
On a positive note, Yumeno was attempting to stand strong. If he didn’t have his hands full with Shuichi and Harumaki and his coughing, maybe he’d invite her to train with them. She could use someone to guide her along, even if Chabashira had given her a big push forward with her final words.
As he was finishing off his miso soup and attempting to nudge Shuichi into eating more of his eggs, Gonta finally lumbered in, worry written clear as day on his face. As he explained the addition to the writing in the courtyard, Kaito felt bad that he was finding himself bored with the turn of events. Was his training regiment just not enough to keep his ambitious mind focused? Maybe they were missing something, something that could snap his mind back into gear. He was Momota Kaito, Luminary of the Stars; he wouldn’t allow himself to become disheartened.
Just as he was jerking himself back into reality, Monokuma decided it was time to make his post-trial appearance. Stupid fucker and his stupid kubs, acting as if getting to access new areas was worth the lives of their friends. Disgust swelled in him at the very sight. It didn’t help that Ouma was acting all buddy-buddy with them.
Monophanie held up a stone and a paintbrush to the group, eagerly declaring them to be the latest keys before turning to her brother. “Come on, Monotaro; give them the third item.”
He tilted his head. “Huh? What item? I don’t have nothing!”
She gasped. “You lost it?! That was the motive!” She hit him upside the head with the frying pan again. Guh, he was tired of this stupid comedy routine.
“Oh, a motive?” Ouma sounded interested. “How disappointing, the game won’t be exciting without a motive.” He grinned. “But maybe that means I won’t get murdered after all!”
“Can you shut the hell up,” Kaito grumbled, though he had to admit he was relieved. He glanced towards the others; Shuichi looked deep in thought, eyebrows knitted as he looked to the silent Monokuma.
Who wasn’t silent for much longer, as he chuckled. “Oh, that old thing? I think it was dropped somewhere, but whatever! I got a better idea for a motive, so I enacted it right away! In fact...” His red eye flashed. “... some of you might be feeling it right now.”
Feeling? Kaito was no Ultimate Detective, but it didn’t take one to hear the implication that something had been done to their bodies. Was... Was whatever was making him cough the next motive? Were the rest of them sick too? A deep dread broke through his repressed emotions.
“What do you mean?” Harumaki asked, fixing the bear with a glare. They received no answer to her question, however, as Monokuma simply laughed at them and made his exit. The kubs hung around, though Monophanie was quick to follow her father’s lead, leaving her brother to the wolves. Not that he would be useful, with his convenient amnesia.
“Jeez, just forget about the stupid motive.” He scratched the back of his head, trying to appear nonchalant. “Let’s just go check out the new areas or whatever.”
“Hm, no, I don’t think so,” Ouma had to object, “I think I’m gonna go look for that third motive item; that sounds much more exciting!” Exciting? More like worrying; last time Ouma messed around with the motives, Hoshi learned that Harumaki had his motive video and watched it, leading to him choosing to give up his life to Toujou.
“I said,” Kaito repeated louder, “Forget about it.”
“Gee, who died and made you leader,” Ouma replied with a grin, dampening the mood further from the verbal attack. He clenched his fists, trying to hold himself back as a wave of anger followed the sadness.
“What's your fucking problem?!”
Ouma smirked, pulling his hands behind his head. “What’s your problem, Momota-chan? Are you that scared of what little ol’ me will do with Monokuma’s motive?” His expression quickly changed, big blobs of wetness filling the corners of his eyes. “I, I thought you trusted meeee!” He sobbed in his obviously fake way.
“Who’d trust a liar like you?”
The room was quiet as Ouma’s face returned to a more neutral expression. “Oh, well, I guess you’re right. That was a lie anyway.” Kaito bit down on his tongue as a stabbing pain hit his chest. “I’ll be going now; have fun with exploring!”
“Wait-!” Before he could stop him, Ouma ran out. Instinct forced him to run after, ignoring the others shouts.
It was probably a poor decision, he realized after a few minutes of “playing tag”. Just attempting to keep the other in view forced his body to its limit far too quickly. Frustration flooded him as he pushed himself harder, Ouma’s mocking jibes echoing back at him. This continued until he lost him somewhere on the 3rd floor, his chest throbbing in protest. He slumped onto one of the benches near Harumaki’s lab, glaring at his clenched fists and trying to hold down the cough threatening to rise. Why did he have to be like this? So... So weak.
... Now wasn't the time to sit around feeling sorry for himself. With a grunt, he pulled himself up, wandering up to the 4th floor. The place was still creepy as hell. He didn't linger long, especially when he discovered stairs leading up to the 5th floor. Shuichi must've unlocked it. His sidekick was becoming more reliable, thanks to his training of course.
And speaking of Shuichi, it didn’t take long to find him, along with Harumaki. The two of them were on the far side of the 5th floor, inside what appeared to be the Ultimate Detective’s lab. With the door left cracked open, he was able to catch bits of their conversation as he approached them.
“... only useful after it’s too late.” Shuichi hung his shoulders, eyes trailing along the floor in defeat.
Harumaki crossed her arms. “Why are you so gloomy all of a sudden? Do you want to die?”
He flinched. “You’d kill me just for that?!” Kaito snorted in amusement, before deciding it was as good of time as any to make his entry. After all, what kind of leader would he be if he didn’t step in to inspire him?
Once the ‘Shuichi pep talk’ session was concluded and he wandered off to go use the second item, Harumaki sighed. “He’s high maintenance. Not that he’s the only one; are you going to go look for Ouma again?”
He scratched the back of his head. “Prolly not. If he doesn’t want to be found, looking for him’ll just be a waste of time. I bet he’ll come running back when we find the Flashback Light.” He grinned. “So let’s get looking, Harumaki!”
She huffed. “Both him and you are a pain. Stop calling me that.”
They scoured the 5th floor, checking every nook and cranny on a level of thoroughness that would impress Shuichi. After some time searching in silence, Kaito got the feeling that Harumaki wanted to say something and turned to her expectantly. She stared back, before sighing again.
“So, what do you think the motive is?”
A paralyzing terror nipped at his nerves. “Uh, I, I dunno. Something to do with our bodies..?”
She glanced away. “I do feel a bit strange. Not sick or anything, but...” She hesitated. “Oddly excited? There’s nothing exciting me though.” She trailed off, running her fingers through one of her twintails.
“Huh, weird. Maybe it’s-” His eye caught on a distinct shape. “Oh, the Flashback Light!” He approached the pillar, finding it hanging on a nail far above the others reach. For him or Gonta, however, it would be easily obtained. “Great, let’s gather the others!”
Harumaki stayed silent for a long second. “Alright, fine.” Ah, was she upset with the sudden topic change? He’d have to make it up to her later.
The Flashback Light was horrifying.
Fire raining from the sky. Panicked screams, pushing, shoving, sobbing. The memories of dark times etched itself into his mind, into all their minds. He curled his hand into a fist on the table, using it to steady himself. The others were equally as unstable; Iruma shook until she fell into a chair, bringing her knees to her chest to assume the fetal position. Shuichi stood stock still, eyes wide with terror. Gonta started crying on the spot.
He had to take control of the situation. He knew that, yet his body would barely move. His chest felt like it was in a vice, terror constricting to the point he could barely breathe. His eyes languidly moved across the scared faces of his friends, until they met Ouma’s. Stone-faced, unreactive towards the chaos around him. Mask firmly in place. His lips split, corners turning up into a false smile.
An abyss opened up in Kaito’s chest, swallowing all the feelings the Flashback Light brought down into it until he was left with nothing but apathy. No, not apathy - Emptiness would be the better word. He felt numbingly empty, a dull ache leaving his body tingling.
“Fuck! I’m so fucking tired of this!” Iruma wailed, pulling his attention away. With her terror-filled shouts, the watergates opened, prompting conversation among the group about what they saw. The meteorites. The cult. The Gofer Project. It all sounded so surreal, but...
“It wouldn’t be so strange if something beyond common sense happened, would it?” Ouma pointed out, “I mean, with Monokuma and the Exisals, is anything really too far out there?” His conceited smirk both pissed him off and confused him.
“What are you getting at?”
“Hm? I’m not getting at anything,” he lied. Kaito scowled as he felt his interest in whatever Ouma was keeping to himself rise.
“Buncha BS,” he muttered in response, shaking his head. He couldn’t waste time indulging Ouma’s lies. “Anyway, don’t worry guys, I’m sure everything’s gonna turn out okay. We’ll find a way to escape this fucked up Killing Game and see with our own two eyes that everything’s fine!”
He clenched his fists, anger pumping in his veins. Out of the corner of his eye, Ouma slipped out of the cafeteria. Whatever. He could deal with him later.
“While I agree,” Kiibo hesitantly begun, “I think... I think I would like some time to myself to think about this. All this new information is, well, quite fatiguing to take in.”
Shit, yeah, the others did look pretty tired. He sighed, scratching the back of his head. “Guess you’re right. But don’t forget what I said, alright!” He might as well been talking to a brick wall as the others shuffled out, Iruma quivering and mumbling to herself while Yumeno dragged her feet, head hung. Shuichi went out the interior door back into the school by himself while Shirogane ducked into the kitchen.
“Um, Momota-kun,” Gonta spoke up as Harukawa was leaving, “If there is anything Gonta can do to help, just let Gonta know.” He pulled his glasses off, dragging his sleeve across his tear-streaked snotty face. “Gonta wanna be helpful to everyone, so he took manhole cover back off.”
He gave him a smile and pat on the back. “Hey, no need to cry man, you’re doin’ fine. I don’t think we’ll be challenging the underground passage again though.”
Gonta slumped. “O-Oh. Gonta think more of how he can help then.” He turned to leave as well, prompting Kaito to shout encouragements into his back. Damn, what a mess. His chest was burning after all that stress.
Guess it was time for a bathroom break.

Oh yeah, youre right about him searching for ppls validation, i think! Like, even negative attention—it really does sorta feel like a child throwing a tantrum. At the same time, in contrast to his childishness—or maybe not, we never really do give kids enough credit—hes very… calculating? I guess. I mean its clear hes laying out pieces to do something, we just dont know what at this point. That aside i feel like… while he is wanting the attention of ppl hating him, even like outside of any plans he has, doesnt exactly negate like? Also feelings like he doesnt have to be “good” bc the ppl around him arent either—with his whole thought process that anyone can lie. Then again maybe theyre supposed to parallel/contrast like… kaito seeking positive attention/validation, and kokichi seeking the negative. Like a child screaming “look at me, look at me!”. So maybe him calling saihara a partner is less him seeing himself on par with others — though it may still be like that, just him seeking that validation as well — and more telling of how he views saihara specifically. I think how unwielding he can be sometimes mighta earned his respect, some. His search for the truth after kaede died leads him to putting his foot down to save everyone more than once during the class trial, which mighta earned some respect esp since the timeline of kokichis infatuation (cough crush cough) coincides with that. Though its unclear what his views ARE exactly on truth vs lies — but hes said he hates liars, hes also said that everyone lies, and that theyre what runs the world. So it seems like he views them kinda like a needed evil? So maybe he saw saiharas searching for the truth in a world full of lies, fools hearty, but also admirable. It could also explain why he got so pissed when he caught him in a lie—lying to him, about him. Also off topic but ive learned that in the art book its stated that saihara was originally supposed to be nb and i feel fucking robbed
As someone who spent a lot of time working with kids via volunteer/summer work in high school, trust me, kids can be very calculating when they want to be - and honestly, their minds move in directions that a lot of adults can’t anymore. The power of ~imagination~ or as Kokichi Ouma would say, lies, perhaps? What is fiction and fantasy other than beautifully decorated lies for people to enjoy and distract from their own lives…
mumble-Beatrice-mumble-KOKICHISHOULDMEETBEATRICE-mumble
Also speaking of Beatrice and Kokichi parallels - if Kokichi has a line about wanting Shuichi to solve him I spontaneously combust, probably.
ahem, anyway -
I’m trying to pin down in my head when Kokichi started focusing on Shuichi specifically and while it’s pretty obvious in Chapter 4, I also got his love hotel pretty early on in my playthrough as well as doing a few of his FTEs so my perspective might be a bit biased. 8′D With that said, he made a pretty big impression on Shuichi during the Bug Meet-n-Greet when he woke up to Kokichi’s shining face but that may have been because Shuichi was the only one who got knocked out. Hm…
Oh, potential idea about Kokichi’s look on lies in regards to Shuichi specifically - I wonder if this is the first time Shuichi has lied not only to him, but about him? As a direct counter to him? I’m probably going to forget some of the lies (and I didn’t get every single one either, despite my best efforts), but to bring some up:
Shuichi lied about hearing someone in the dorms - Chapter 2
Shuichi lied about whether the second death in Chapter 3 was instantaneous or not, and also about K1-b0′s light functions -
All of those were in service of revealing the truth and finding the killer. And I think having both of these here is important because both of those, I think, lined up with Kokichi’s goals in those trials.
But in this trial, where one of Kokichi’s goals is to force Kaito into a corner belief-wise (undermining the new apparent leader of the group), he finds Shuichi starts lining up with Kaito a bit too much as an unintended consequence - sure, he’s trying to reveal the truth and find the killer, but either a) these goals don’t align with Kokichi - he spends a lot of the trial throwing out breadcrumbs to Shuichi to reach a certain conclusion (I’m not sure that conclusion was supposed to be the truth or not, which is something I’m gonna think on later, because it really does seem like Kokichi dropped the culprit’s name out of spite rather than it being his actual plan), but after lying about being in the salon he does expect to be taken at face value or at least be challenged with evidence rather than perjury or b) Shuichi is, whether intentionally or unconsciously, barbing this lie with the implication, “I’m going to lie to corner you, Kokichi, the culprit of this case,” and Kokichi finds this offensive to both the spirit of the trial, but Shuichi’s apparent role as the truth-seeking, unbiased, logical Ultimate Detective. Despite his initial plans, Kokichi has his own moral code for himself and those around him, and seeing Shuichi cross a line that way snaps something in him that makes him lash out. Does that make sense? I could be completely sideways on this but - 8′D
Man, the mystery of Kokichi Ouma is going to be fun to unravel!
Oh and about that last bit - I’m actually not surprised by that tbh. They made him pretty androgynous and the fact that they unapologetically gave him love hotel scenes for all the guys and girls is pretty… telling. I actually wonder if it was a sort of apology for the protag-switch, especially considering Kaede would have been our first main-game girl protagonist - he seems to straddle the line much more than both Naegi and Hajime! But honestly though, I wouldn’t worry too much about that. Fandom exists to rectify all the problems of canon (and sometimes cause some but that’s a different conversation), so if you want to write/draw/etc nb Shuichi, you can totally do that ~

Amongst the deep, swirling pool of darkness, the only relieving light came from the moon as itsbeams shone fleetingly and delicately through the shimmering curtains. Itbrought a familiar sense of comfort to Kiyomi; she had always preferred themonochrome gradients of the night as they shifted from blackened shadows toilluminated highlights with the curtain’s movements. It took away the starkrealness that daytime presented, and for the slightest of seconds, made her feelthat she was simply there.
She was there andnothing else in that moment mattered.
The night was almostromantic, and so she found herself also becoming romantic, and caving in to hermore tender tendencies, she began rereading old text messages.
Messages from Kaito.
They had only beentalking earlier that day at school, yet recently, it had become a custom forthem to text outside of school hours as well about idle things; homework, books, television shows, friends.
It was only today thatthe topics of the conversation had shifted…
‘So… Have you thought about your future?’ she had asked him, just out of the blue. Shemeant nothing by it – simply a curious, fleeting thought. He had typed backafter a minute’s delay,
‘No. It’s hard to think beyond today, to behonest.’ followed by, ‘Why?’
‘I was just thinking that I hadn’t thoughtabout my future, either. It’s kinda scary, don’t you think?’
‘That’s why I tried to avoid the topic.’ Kiyomi instantly picked up on the use of pasttense, and enquired,
‘Tried?’
‘Well, recently things have begun to change.’
‘What do you mean? For the better or for theworse?’
‘For the better.’ There was a pause, and she was about to type areply when her phone notified an incoming message, ‘Man, Shimizu-san, if only you knew how much for the better.’
Her eyes had widenedat that. Somehow, she had the feeling that this concerned her more than she hadinitially realized. Her fingers hesitated on the touch keyboard, hovering overdifferent characters to try and concoct a reply that did not hint at hersuspicions whilst trying to not drop the phone on her face. She reread the message, feeling heat tingle up her neck, and shequickly replied so she would not close the application out of complete embarrassment,
‘I’m glad.’
His reply was quick,as if he had similar thoughts to her.
‘I’ve started to think about the future becauseI can finally see a future.’ followedby, ‘It’s a future with you in it.’
The conversation hadabruptly ended there, because upon her initial reading of the fragile message, she had locked the phone as quick as lightning and thrown it to the other endof her bed, the blood pulsating in her cheeks and her heart racing like an oldsteam engine. Fast and hard.
Yet now, withforewarning on her side, she reread the message under the light of the starswith a less severe reaction. She could not stop her face from coloring, but inthe intimate envelops of darkness, she felt more at ease.
The message could beinterpreted in a myriad of different ways, and they all floated through Kiyomi’shead in a daze. The prospect of a future with her made the future worththinking about for him. Her presence in his life gave him a reason to continue. Theweight of that sat comfortably on her shoulders.
That was a weight she waswilling to hold.
In an instant, thescreen on her phone changed from the messaging application to a different one.The device buzzed gently in her hand.
A call.
She answered it.
“Hana-chan, goodevening.” She spoke into the microphone sweetly, quiet enough as to not disturbher parents.
“I didn’t expect youto answer, Kiyomi. It’s rare for you to be up this late unless it’s a Fridaynight.” Hana’s voice replied, her tone soft.
“I… I’ve had a lot onmy mind recently.”
“In a good way, or abad way?”
“In a good way, Ithink…” Kiyomi replied uncertainly, and the notion this gave across made Hanachuckle.
“You think? What’sthat supposed to mean?”
“Well… I’m sure it’ssupposed to be a good way. But it’s hard to know.”
“What’s up? Tell me.”
“It’s just… It’s a bitembarrassing.” Kiyomi brought a hand to her free cheek to try and steady her heart.
“Oh, I see what’shappening now.” Hana replied slyly, “This has something to do with Takahashi-kun,doesn’t it?”
“Please don’t say itout loud!” Kiyomi pleaded, shaking her head in discomfiture.
“C’mon, Kiyomi. Youknow that you can’t avoid this forever. Tell me what’s happening with him.”
“Well… We were texting…”
“Hmm?”
“And… He saidsomething… and I couldn’t quite make out what he meant.”
“Go on.” Hana urged.
“He said, ‘I can seethe future because…” she hesitated, struggling to force the words out, “because I see a future with you in it’.”
For a couple ofpainstaking, silent seconds, there was no reply from Hana. Then, as if shecould not hold it back any longer, she began to laugh.
“Hey! Don’t laughHana-chan, it’s mean! That’s really what he said!” Somehow, in the midst of herlaughter, Hana was able to say,
“I-I’m sorry Kiyomi. I’mnot laughing at him. I-I’m laughing at the way you said it; it was just toocute.”
“Please take this seriously,Hana-chan! I haven’t replied to him yet and I don’t know what to do.”
“Okay, okay. I’llhelp, don’t worry.” Hana’s laughter died down, and she added, “He’s saying he feels safearound you, Kiyomi. He wants to continue to have you there through thick andthin. If Natsuko was in this call, she would tell you it sounded like aproposal.”
“I-It was not a proposal!” Kiyomi defended, resisting the urge to once again throw her phone away from her troubles, “Hewas just being honest, right?”
“Right, of course.”Hana replied seriously, “Well, what do you think of it?”
“Me?”
“You are the one he aimed the message at,right?”
“Yeah, that’s… that’strue.”
“So? C’mon, you haveto have felt some way when you read the message, right?”
“Yeah, of course Idid. He used to be my best friend, but now I’m not so sure that’s how he feels.”
“Hey! I thought I wasyour best friend, Kiyomi!”
“You are! Both you andNacchan are my closest best friends. But Takahashi-kun is, too.”
“I’m glad you clearedthat up.” Hana replied light-heartedly, a smile in her voice, “So, what do youthink of him now?”
“I think… I think hewants to be more than friends.”
“And…?”
“And I think I do,too.”
“Of course, you do!You’ve been staring after him for literally eight months straight. Natsuko and Idon’t even place bets anymore, because I kept on losing.”
“Y-You used to placebets on me?!”
“Now, now, they wereonly silly bets, like, ‘If Kiyomi is still staring at Takahashi-kun bylunchtime, I will go and grab lunch for all of us from the canteen’.”
“So that’s why youwere going to the canteen so often recently, Hana-chan.” Kiyomi repliedsolemnly, her initial gratefulness at Hana’s selfless act being lost in thetruth.
“Yes, but that’s notthe topic of concern here. You think you feel the same way about Takahashi-kun,right?” There was a line of static on the other end, and Hana repeated, “Right,Kiyomi?”
“Stop making me say itout loud!”
“You need to be moretruthful with your feelings, Kiyomi. Don’t be scared to say how you feel.”
“R-Right!” she stuttered, trying desperately to steady her heart.
“Well then, you justneed to tell him that, yeah?”
“You make it sound soeasy…” Kiyomi replied quietly.
“I’ll make it easy.”Hana ensured, the motherly tones in her voice coming to fruition, “Are you ableto put me on speaker?”
“It should be fine ifit’s quiet.”
“Okay, put me onspeaker and open up LINE.” Kiyomi put Hana on speaker, but her finger hesitatedover the application.
“I-I can’t do this…”
“I’m gonna spoon-feedyou the lines, Kiyomi. Don’t you worry about a thing.”
“But the messageshould ultimately come from me, shouldn’t it?”
“And how long has itbeen since you should’ve replied?”
“… Five hours…”
“And how long have webeen friends for, now?”
“Eleven years…”
“Exactly. C’mon, I’llhandle it. Open up LINE and go into your chat.” Kiyomi obliged, “Now type, ‘Ihope that future will become a reality. I feel the same way, and the futurelooks bright because of it.’ or something like that.”
Kiyomi began to typeout Hana’s pre-prepared message as she spoke it aloud, but stopped halfway.
“Doesn’t this soundtoo… I don’t know, too cliché?”
“Did you even readwhat he wrote? That’s the most cliché thing I have seen in my life.” Kiyomihummed in reluctant agreement, and tried to continue the message, but hesitatedagain. Shaking her head, she deleted the message.
“It just doesn’t soundright, Hana-chan…”
“That’s fine. At leastyou know what would sound right, then. It’s a step in the right direction.”
“I know, thank you. Ireally do appreciate it.”
“That’s what I’m herefor.” Hana replied cheerily, “So, have any ideas come to you after thesuggestion I gave you?” Kiyomi stared at the message Kaito sent one more time:
‘It’s a future with you in it.’
“I… I think I’ve gotsomething.”
“Well, that’s great!What is it?”
“It’s a secret.”Kiyomi replied cheekily, beginning to type on her phone’s keyboard.
“Huh? First you’reclueless, and then when you do thinkof something, you won’t even tell me? What gives?” Hana replied teasingly.
“This is just betweenme and Kaito-kun. You’ll find out tomorrow when I see you at school, I promise.”
Kiyomi hit send.
“You better keep thatpromise – Hey! You just called him Kaito-kun, didn’t you?!” Hana practicallyyelled.
“I-I did no suchthing!” Kiyomi replied defensively, knowing fully well that she would never beable to escape this slip-of-the-tongue for the rest of her days.
“You so did! You so did – I heard it as clear asanything!”
“Hana-chan, please!”Kiyomi pleaded, yet laughed all the same. Through her bickering, she peeredback down at her message, which wrote,
‘I can see a future with you in it, too. ♡ ’

Since its close to Valentines day, how about the boys trying to make certain chocolates for thier crush?
Sure thing, please enjoy it!
Korekiyo Shinguuji
He tries his hardest, he really does, but this just isn’t his line of expertice.
But he reads the recipe very carefully before doing anything! Each step is followed carefully, he wouldn’t want you putting trash into your beautiful human digestive system.
He simply wouldn’t allow it.
So he makes sure to follow the recipe perfectly.
He also leaves quite a mess in his kitchen.
On Valentine’s Day, he’s sure he has everything planned!
He’s going to walk up to you, tell you that you look lovely, give you the chocolates, and wish you a happy Valentine’s Day.
Things...don’t go as well as planned.
As soon as he’s standing before you, he freezes up, his nerves get the best of him.
He thrusts the box of chocolates at you before walking away, blushing.
You’re pretty surprised, but...why not eat them?
They taste pretty good, nothing extraordinary, but not blande either.
Overall a nice gesture with good intent!
Rantarou Amami
A little more experience than Korekiyo, but still fairly inept.
He tries his best in the kitchen, but in the end, things come out a little messy...
Well, although they’re a little misshapen, they taste delicious.
He tests one just to be sure, this is a very important exchange, he can’t make you chocolates that you wouldn’t like...you’d never go out with him then.
Honestly, he’s kind of nervous, but he decides to take a deep breath and just do this.
So he walks up to you at your locker after the class, making casually friendly conversation, just enjoying a nice chat!
Finally, he segways cleanly into the topic of Valentine’s Day, and with all the confidence he can muster, gives you the chocolates.
They’re in a neatly tied, lovingly decorated little green box, and you can tell he put a lot of care into this.
You accept his gift with a smile, and you can tell he’s very pleased and relieved!
Maybe someday he’ll have the confidence to ask you out, but for now, this will do.
Kokichi Ouma
Is an absolutely useless cook, and there is no way in hell he made those himself.
But nobody ever said your underlings couldn’t make the Valentine’s Day chocolates for you! That was never specified!
Regardless, they taste AMAZING, and a whole new batch has to be made because Ouma keeps eating them all.
But finally, a batch sticks, and Ouma agrees to stop eating them and actually wrap some for you.
He puts them in a little bag, ties it with a nice ribbon, and writes your name on it.
He’s blushing just enough to be noticeable when he does this, prompting some teasing from his underlings.
Ignoring them, he decides he has to do this, he’s come too far to back out now!
So on Valentine’s Day, he approaches you right after school. He’s blushing again, and he’s quite fidgety. He looks nervous.
He’s just kind of glaring at the bag in his hands, like he doesn’t know what to say to you and is trying to avoid eye contact.
Finally, he takes a deep breath, and still beet red, holds out the bag.
You’re surprised at first, but he’s not done.
He tells you he’s liked you since the day he first saw you, and he wants to take your friendship further than just a friendship.
He...wants to be your boyfriend.
You agree immediately, you can’t help yourself, he just looks so cute, and you can tell he’s not lying, you can see how nervous he’s been about this, you can see how much he wants to care for you.
He looks absolutely elated when you say yes, like his entire world just got brighter, and you can’t help but laugh.
The chocolates are just a plus. Now you have Ouma too.
Shuuichi Saihara
He’s...not very good at this, but he tries.
The chocolates are in a pretty standard box, he can’t really think of anything special, but he swears he put a LOT of effort into making the chocolates themselves!
He sits with them in his bag all day long, waiting for the perfect opportunity to give them to you.
He’s blushing for practically the entire day, he’s really nervous.
And in the end...you go home without even talking to him once that day.
Just as well, he supposes.
He throws them out with a sigh, he chickened out again, what was he even thinking?
At least, that’s what he thought until you approached him on his walk home.
He was surprised, really! And a little mad at himself for throwing out the chocolates.
Even though they were pretty bitter.
But what’s this? You made chocolates for him?
He’s honestly really taken aback, he never thought you would do something like this just for him...
He’s very grateful! Maybe this could mean something more...?
But he doesn’t get a chance to ask before you’re back on your way home.
Maybe another time.
Kaito Momota
Out of all the boys, he’s the worst at this.
His chocolates look terrible, they probably taste terrible, but they are in one hell of a box!
It’s fully galaxy printed, and looks awesome.
He’s not nervous about giving them to you, that’s not a problem, but...
He’s pretty nervous about asking you out along with them.
He’s blushing a little, but otherwise, he looks pretty happy and confident!
He just really, really wants you to like him, that’s all.
So, before you two leave class at the end of the day, he asks to speak to you!
You comply, because you’re curious, and he’s sweet, and you’re hoping that maybe you’ll get something out of this because it’s Valentine’s Day.
He doesn’t avoid the top, but he does bring it up pretty casually.
He mentions that he made you something, hand hands you the box.
You’re more surprised by how great it looks than the fact that the chocolates look so bad!
You thank him quickly, and are ready to leave, when he stops you.
He says that isn’t all he wanted to say today.
Finally, he just mans up and tells you he’s had feelings for you since before he could even remember, and he wants to be more than friends.
You’re surprised, but you do say yes, because you like him back!
Happy ending!
Kiibo
He’s thoroughly searched the internet for the best possible recipes to use! The ones with the nicest ingredients, best reviews, and...the ones that are a bit on the pricey side.
So even though the ingredients pretty much swallow his wallet, he’s glad he could get them!
Every individual chocolate is individually inspected for quality before being boxed.
He’s a little nervous, because he can’t actually taste, so he has no idea if they’re good or not...but he hopes they are!
He doesn’t really know the proper protocol for giving you the chocolates.
He doesn’t actually know the proper protocol for Valentine’s Day at all, especially now that he’s had his first crush!
It’s very stressful! He’s nervous!
But he picks a time he feels suitable, right after school.
But things can never just work out perfectly...
By the time the end of the day comes around, he’s exhausted.
The constant stress of him being nervous about giving you the chocolates has been eating at his battery all day, and he’s just wiped.
You notice him struggling to stay awake in his desk as the class pulls to a close, he looks like he could pass out at any moment, but sleepy Kiibo still looks kind of adorable.
When class ends, the entire class leaves, and Kiibo just...doesn’t register that they’re gone...he’s still just sitting there, bobbing in and out of consciousness.
You walk over and sit beside him, stroking his hair gently and chuckling to yourself as you ask him if he’s alright.
He snaps to attention, blushing and apologizing.
He quickly remembers the chocolates, and musters up enough energy to offer them to you!
You happily accept them, and he gives you a tired smile, you can tell he was hoping for that.
You offer to walk him home, because you’re pretty sure he won’t make it hope alone...
Sleepy end?
Gonta Gokuhara
He makes an absolute mess of the kitchen.
Just a total disaster.
He tries his best, but in the end he has almost nothing to show for it...
He makes a few messy chocolates, and they’re not very good, but it’s the effort that counts, and he spent hours on these.
When he gives them to you, he’s so excited! He hopes you really like them!
You ignore the way they look, it’s the thought that matters.
You thank him very gratefully and give him a nice hug!
He hugs you back, and may or may not pick you up accidentally in the process.
He’ll ask you out another time, but for now, he’ll be a friend.
Even if he wants to be more.
Ryouma Hoshi
Well...a short story, really.
He puts a lot of effort into them.
A lot. Hours of effort.
Finally, they’re perfect, everything about them is perfect, you couldn’t buy more perfect chocolates.
He boxes them nicely, they’re just perfect.
But when he gets to school, he notices something kind of crushing.
You’re already getting chocolates.
Lots of them.
So many other people want you.
He’s out of your league.
He throws them away.
He never mentions this to you.

“Ah, um, how the boys would try and cheer up their depressed s / o? Sorry, sorry! “ “Could you do hoshi and gonta with a depressed s/o (if your okay with that topic I understand if your not okay with writing it)” -Anons
Most of the mods are completely fine with writing about darker subjects! No worries!!
Kaito Momota
He’s a big goofball so he tries his best to make you laugh.
Tickle fights are a regular occurrence, and you hate them intensely, with the fury of a thousand suns.
But it does help take your mind off of the issues that consume you.
Sometimes everything just feels like an unrecognizable sludge that you can never escape, and it makes a task that requires even the slightest amount of effort feel as if you’re dragging a car behind you.
Your muscles ache for no reason, and all he does when you complain is massage them.
He doesn’t shame you, he doesn’t ask how your muscles could possibly be sore when all you did today was get up to make a sandwich.
He just does his best to make you feel as if you’re important.
He never truly knows what lies beneath, and he doesnt think he’ll understand, but he wants you to feel supported and loved.
So he’ll do the best he can.
Kiibo
He immediately looks it up, anything and everything he can, because he wants to help you.
He makes sure to give you as much attention as he possibly can.
He’s bad with recognizing human emotions and what’s normal sad and what’s the swarming depression that renders you unable to move from your bed to even eat.
He worries about you a lot, checking up on you to the point of you getting annoyed.
He can’t help it, it’s compulsive.
You sigh and explain that sometimes you really just want to be alone to brood and be miserable without having to feel guilty about it.
He understands, fretting a bit, but only agrees to stop mother henning you so long as you keep your door unlocked.
He keeps his word, and so do you.
He does whatever he can, being as supportive as he can.
Rantaro Amami
He understands, and all you two can do is continue living as you both had.
He tries to make accommodations for you, so you won’t feel so badly about having to do things.
All it really does is make you feel like a burden.
You feel like a burden, and thus become unmotivated, which makes you unable to do anything, and the cycle repeats.
He can’t help but feel like it’s a losing battle.
He aches to make it better, for you to find enjoyment in the things you used to.
But it’s just not there anymore.
And all he can do is love you the same.
But thats enough for you.
You’re content knowing you matter to him.
You live for moments where he sneezes and almost hits his head on desks or walls or chairs.
You live for the way light rain sounds when you sit by the window.
You can’t help the unhappiness, and the apathy.
But these moments shine through it all, and you love every bit of it.
Kokichi Ouma
He’s horrifically blunt about his feelings, but at least he’s honest with you.
That much is good.
He wants to know how to help you, he really does!
But he’s not quite sure what he can do.
He treats you to good things a lot more often when you tell him about your struggle with it.
You two talk a lot about it.
Eventually it does become a casual part of both of your vernacular.
Because he’s willing to tell you anything, and you like to voice how you’re feeling so he knows what mood you’re in.
You two go back and forth, and turn the horrible awfulness of it into a joke.
Well, it lightens the mood and you don’t feel like your feelings are ignored as he always acknowledges them in turn, and adjusts his schedule accordingly.
Shuichi Saihara
He can relate.
You two have lengthy conversations about how it affects your interactions with other people.
You two act as netting for each other, trying to keep each other afloat.
You’re his buoy.
He’s your lighthouse.
Whatever your symptoms are, he always finds something to suggest to you that relieves it even just a little bit.
And you’re there for him no matter what, and that’s all he needs.
Korekiyo Shinguji
He makes tea for you.
He sits with you daily, handing you the tea he makes and just listening to you.
He knows venting can make things feel validated.
He knows it’ll take a while to heal, and it might never heal at all.
He’s prepared for that, and he holds you close at every chance he gets.
Because god, you’re so important.
Gonta Gokuhara
He smothers you endlessly in affection.
I mean, he does so anyways, but now it’s increased tenfold.
He knows how much it means to feel loved and appreciated, and he loves you more than anything so its easy to be supportive.
He just really wants you to be happy and will do anything for you.
Ryoma Hoshi
Oh does he know that feeling.
That horrible feeling of inadequacy.
Of being weighed down by things unrecognizable and foreign.
He tries his best to avoid the subject, and just be there for you.
He’s never been good at truly saying how he feels.
But he hopes you know what he means when he holds your hand and traces the lines in them.
You never speak, but you understand each other.
Thank you for the asks!! -Mod Tsumugi
