Incoming message from @itsasset; 🍾 “what do you see in me?”
Blinking a few times, Gemma needed a moment to focus on the question. Or at least understand the question in its entirety. "I can't see inside of you… S I L L Y!" She laughed and looked away, taking another drink. How many was this now? She lost count, "shit, I think I'm drunk… Anyways… What I see in you is a friend, Shaaaaw!" Gemma drew out her name, leaning towards the other, "You and-and I could be GREAT friends. I think we gotta work through some shit, you know? Personal shit." Her words began to slur the more she talked, "What about you? What do you see in me?"

❛ --- EVERY TIME I KILLED someone, every time I got someone hurt, I used to drink. And then it didn’t bother me so much anymore, and I still drank, but not because of that. That’s when I knew I was royally fucked up beyond repair. ❜

plots please?
OUT OF WIDOW !!
first off, thank you so much for sending this ! i've been wanting to interact with you since i first followed but never found the opportunity bc anxiety, but here we are !
for my main verse the only plot i can think of is natasha being undercover in one form or another. by this i mean, they are either after the same target or natasha is deep cover & they cross paths. the spy spying on shaw & the team either to protect the target or because they unknowingly end up interfering with one of her assignments.
i can also see them crossing paths in an apocalypse/zombie setting & being a totally badass duo.

“your voice is putting me to sleep.” - @itsasset
“ I hope you mean that in a ‘it’s so deep and sexy’ you’re
falling asleep kind of way. Because that’s how I’m going
to take it so I’m going to keep talking. ”

I always forget just HOW MUCH I absolutely love Harold’s very first interaction with Shaw in Relevance. Every time I watch it I get SO OVERWHELMED by it. While Shaw does reject his offer at first, I feel like it’s a perfect illustration of how much he has GROWN from season 1, from the very beginning.
His original “ You can call me Mr. Finch ” has now turned into “ You can call me Harold ”. For the most part, he holds almost unyielding eye contact, his tone is softer, kinder, whilst also still maintaining an obviously authoritative air about him. Instead of thinking of targeting weak points, instead of laying out the things he knows about her ( as he did with John originally ) .... INSTEAD, he appeals to emotion, a lack of judgement, backed with that practicality of his still. He is honest in a more meaningful way by bringing up Cole, but it’s an apology. It’s saying I know that you cared about him & I’m sorry we couldn’t save him.
I find this ESPECIALLY meaningful because Harold has absolutely read Shaw’s file, he knows all about her. Most people would read about her personality disorder & immediately throw away any kind of attempt of emotionally reaching her, but Harold does not do this. At this point, he has helped SO MANY DIFFERENT KINDS OF PEOPLE, he is so much better at reaching them & so that’s what he does. He simply reaches.
What I REALLY like about that, outside of the show meta, is from a writing perspective ; the whole first half of the episode, they’re telling you that Shaw is a sociopath, but with those little but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t feel anything pieces here & there. & THEN, with this interaction with Harold, it puts those pieces together very clearly with her line ( & god damn that facial expression acting ), “ I never had many friends, never had much use for them. Cole was an exception. & He deserved better. ”
& THEN, Harold goes further later to ensure that Cole’s family believes that he died a hero. While that was of course for his family, that was also for Shaw.
So anyway, I’m REALLY FUCKIN EMOTIONAL about POI & Harold & Shaw’s friendship & I’m gonna cry, thank u for coming to my TED talk.

Gemma had been busy lately. Duty called, so she had not seen Shaw in a while. Though, she was sure Shaw heard the shit she was getting up to. She had a way of finding this shit out, which annoyed Gemma. "Long time no see, Shaw. What have you been up to? Since you have not been a major pain in my ass, which is a relief, though I missed you. And I am sure you will say the same, followed by an insult. Right?"

> # @itsasset said: “i’m coming to get you. where are you?”
“ about three time zones over, ” she replied almost dreamily, an inflection of dismay added to the mix; she looked down at the lit-up screen of her phone sitting on the seat beside her, the minutes reading 0:56. she supposed she should feel flattered that with less than one minute into this three-am phone call shaw was already eager to come over------ she’d feel better about it if didn’t have everything to do with the way her breathing stuttered out against the microphone pressed to her cheek, “ & currently on a moving train, ” she added after a beat, just to make things even more interesting ( as sweet as it was that she wanted to join her ).
she'd been told about twenty minutes after dragging herself through the aisle that she was heading to san fransisco, where there was a suite on the thirty-first floor waiting for her. only just under an hour and a half to go. her fingers shook where they rested beside her injured thigh, & she could feel the pure heat as it soaked through the bandages. it made her thankful for the earbuds she’d stolen on her way out ( & for Her assistance with the dialling ). “ just keep talking, ” she breathed out, sounding more a love-sick teenager twirling a phone cord around her index finger rather than someone with a potentially punctured femoral artery, but she took a few seconds than usual to get her mouth around a more animated tone, “ how was bear’s check up ? ”

your writing reads exceptionally smoothly. it is always clear while never being bland and altogether very easy to reply to. i love how you capture maeve ( and diana )'s personality in your narration style which makes the way you write unique to the character. it's always a pleasure writing with you!
YOU ARE ALWAYS SUCH A BIG SUPPORTER OF MINE AND I ADORE THE HECK OUT OF YOU, MY FRIEND!! You’re someone whose writing just downright inspires me, so I’m honored that you like my writing. I really try to bring out Maeve’s unique personality through narration, and I’m glad you think I do! YOU’RE THE BEST.
what do you like most about my writing style?

[ @itsasset » CLOSED STARTER. + cont. ]
light rain patters against the windshield they’re patiently looking through, the droplets blurring the line of office buildings across the street. without the hum of the heater or a tune from the radio, it’s quiet in here, despite the company ––– no complaints to be made, though, she has no desire for small talk and the sentiment seems to be shared. sharon flicks down the handle of the steering wheel to clear their line of sight.
( ... again, NOTHING. )
she readjusts her position in the driver’s seat to offer a slight frown. “ no, i don’t think so. ” she knows shaw is implying her own mistakes, but sharon carter is not one to make any... not the stupid kind, anyway. she’s too good at her job for those to let happen. “ people are creatures of habit, and we know from his file he’s very particular ––– he’s been to the same meetings every wednesday at the same time, finishing at nine-thirty... ”
