i’m not really equipped to lay it all out in words right now but imo it’s biggest crimes are it’s relentless self indulgence and inability to kill it’s darlings making it a needless 2-part movie that should have just been one movie, the ending is— ABSURDLY unsatisfying, jesus, and well the cop thing. i don’t even think that IS a station of canon the way say uncle ben is, it just feels very— arbitrary, to tie gwen and miles together on that front? a lot of things in this movie feel arbitrary. aurgh.

I don’t know if you’re engaging in future Spidey discourse but if you are… I feel like he might do a final Spidey film to wrap up the NWH plot and then sign on to appearances as well (kind of like how RDJ wrapped his trilogy in 2013 but his final appearance in the MCU was in 2019) since Spidey is integral to the next two Avengers films. It’s all speculation but I don’t think he’s done tbh, just maybe not going for a trilogy

I don’t mind engaging but I’m less good at it than some of the other blogs!

Here’s my 2 cents: I found Peter’s arc and final decisions in NWH to be super disappointing. Trite, I’d say. I also didn’t find the love story between Peter and MJ in the Home trilogy to be all that compelling. So I don’t care about that version of Peter and I don’t care about that version of PeterMJ as is. I did, however, really enjoy the Allison Reynolds-ification and politicalization of MJ and think that character has loads of potentional. Personally, I’d root for an MJ movie with Peter swinging in here and there in the background to support her, to be honest, but that would never, ever happen😭

I’m excited for the ITSV2 and would be interested to see what they can do with Miles in a live action film. Maybe Miles can even breathe new life into Peter?

But it does seem like there are many reasons for Tom Holland to return for another Spidey film. And he’s a cash cow for Marvel/Sony. So I agree, I think, that he’ll be back for at least one more stand alone film and some appearances, maybe major, in other Marvel films.

Actually, expensive things shouldn't get pushed back! Investing millions of dollars in a movie or video game, but not making a workable schedule is stupid, they do it because they think you will see ITSV2 whenever, just whenever. Pokémon and Spider-Man are gaurenteed blockbusters (as long s critics can't have BDSP early) but can't negotiate a reasonable schedule? From the start? "We pushed it back to change the script" so your project manager misjudged the number of drafts or wasn't able to get enough? Electric chair. He'll never work in this town again. And the HR who fired him. My boss went home early and an hour later the lobby was full of people waiting to get interviewed. Everything can just waste your time now. Imagine. The senior was calling our boss-boss, now the stress of the stupid schedule was on her who scheduled the interviews without scheduling the interviewer! Guillotine, head on pike! People called the day before, this interview doesn't seem real, I said well it's always on that day of the week, I should have said trust your gut! If you can't make yourself a job kill yourself. In this society? Here hold still, you'll feel better. Great now I can't publish this.
