isekai setting where the isekai'd individual makes huge waves not through their attempts of uplifting the setting via the creation of the gun or toilet or car or grill or penicillin or whatever, but through the ideals and political views they believe in and live by. that the oil to a flame the lower/working class needed in order to make marginal yet noticeable progress against the systematic oppression created by the previous ruling classes wasnt the existence of new technology from a far-in-the-future era, but something far grander in scope.
to provide an example, the concept of universal healthcare to all living beings regardless of if the person/individual being treated was a friend or foe, another race, and/or a different gender in a medieval fantasy world that has never known true peace. despite being a foreign concept amongst a medieval world embroiled in constant war and bloodshed, even a little crumb of such an ideology is what causes some major players of the setting to slowly but surely reevaluate the issues that plague society as a whole and act on them.
i know people think something like that is too idealistic and optimistic or whatever, but damn wouldn't that be amazing to think about? change in a fictional society occuring not because of paragraphs long technobabble some rando realistically knows about as much as a pathological liar would speak on, but the core beliefs of a person ushering in a new wave of ideas that would bring change to society.
