David is a lunatic he just turned a man into a bird. But he clearly has no stomach to kill off crew members even as he sheds them for plot sake (swede and buttons, ivan before the season). Two of those are still alive. He ‘killed’ lucius for plot sake and no one believed him but he kept it up til the eps dropped.

I think we’ll have a vaguely clearer idea after next week but trust me one thing i can tell u is: dont trust david. And do freak out over fan theory

Miscellaneous Trivia —

Was kidnapped and sold into a human trafficking operation by her uncle Ivan, as a collateral payment to the Russian Mafia for a large quantity of heroin

Meeko hates her shift (Maned Wolf) because it’s lanky and awkward, both of which her human form is not, and she doesn’t like to shift into it. She doesn’t even like to be seen with her feral ears or tail.

She has the same gastrointestinal hemorrhaging defensive mechanism that is passed down in her family as her brother, Remington. Intense or extreme emotions cause blood that’s stored in her stomach begins to pour from her nose and mouth.

As the two grew up, Remi pretty much raised the two of them, becoming more of a father figure than a brother, despite him only being 5 years older than her.

Severe. Her eyes water and her throat gets itchy before the sneezing, however. Prone to doubles or triples.

Do they get sick often?

Meeko is usually extremely healthy, usually able to easily be exposed to most viruses and remain healthy. However, her brother’s super virus’ always take her out.

How bad is it usually?

She loses her voice the day before as a precursor, and by the next day, she’s so full of congestion that she can never quite get the satisfaction of a full release. Usually runs a high fever and only sneezes in singles from how tight her sinuses get.

Do they stifle?

Not usually, as they would more than likely pop her brain. Though she has tried, Meeko is known for her very vocal sneezes.

How loud are their sneezes?

Not dad sneeze level, but moderately loud.

What do they sneeze into?

Quickly picking up her brothers habits from a young age, Meeko tends to sneeze uncovered.

How often do they sneeze?

They are few and far between, unless exposed to a cat or one of Remi’s super viruses. Then her nose is very sensitive.

How many times do they sneeze in a fit?

1-2 times is average, although triples are more common with feline allergies.

Do they have build-ups or are they sudden?

Tend to have a drawn out build up. Can be teased with false starts. Sometimes she’s so desperate to release a snuck sneeze, she will softly beg Connie or Biziil to help her induce to coax it out.

Do they sneeze in public?

Yes, although she tries to make them as quiet as possible. Usually also blesses herself after an unexpected sneeze.

Here’s the backstory: The pack of DuPont is incredibly rare and often disregarded due to the fact that they are not a blood-related family. Most of them are orphans or abandoned, and they came together as a pack to take care of and look after each other! The pack began with Marinette, Kim and Nino, and grew from there. “Come on, Marinette,” said Kim, “You’re only cold because you aren’t getting your blood pumping. Race me to the end of the bridge and back!”

“She can’t run in all those layers,” Chloe laughed. “You’re just looking for an easy win.”

Marinette didn’t protest. It was hard to run in her coat and boots, and she was really tired. A river excursion is the last thing she wanted first thing in the morning.

“I think we should take a photo!” Said Lila, “for memories! It’s not every day we get out of the school building with our friends!” Marinette was instantly suspicious.

But it seemed like no one else was. “What a wonderful idea, Lila! See? The Seine can bring out so much inspiration in us. I hope everyone is tapping into this goldmine!”

Everyone organized themselves by shortest to tallest, with most of the boys in the back and most of the girls in the front. Lila, being unnaturally tall, and wearing huge wedges, was among the boys in the back.

“Marinette, you should sit on the railing so you don’t get lost in the back,” said Lila.

“I’m good,” replied Marinette, cautious as ever.

“No no, that’s a great idea!” Said Rose. “You’re just a little too tall for the front, and too short for the back. Sitting on the railing would be perfect!”

Before she could protest, Marinette was lifted by Ivan to sit along the rail. “Just be careful,” she warned. “You know how my balance is.”

“We won’t let you fall, Marinette!” Kim assured. She wanted to believe them. She wanted to trust them. But too many times, luck just wasn’t on her side. So when Miss Bustier yelled “cheese!” And Lila raised her hands to pose, Marinette found one of Lila’s hands smacking her in the face. She reeled backwards and no one was quick enough to stop her fall. Marinette plummeted down into the frozen water. Her back hit the ice, which knocked all the air from her. If that wasn’t enough, her puffy jacket and other multiple layers absorbed water like sponges. Even kicking kept her from moving. She was going to drown here, from a cruel prank from a classmate. She would die at the bottom of the stinky, sludgy river. Warmth caressed her face, and tender softness pressed to her mouth. Something moist parted her lips and air rushed into her lungs. She blinked then, realizing that she wasn’t going to die. Huge green eyes stared back at her. Eyes of a strange creature, with slitted pupils and lime sclera. She let out all her fresh air in a gasp of bubbles.

Constance Anne Wilson, who has died aged 95, was one of the first people in Britain to lay claim to the description of professional food historian, after her book Food and Drink in Britain from the Stone Age to Recent Times was published in 1973. She spent most of her working life at the University of Leeds where, as a librarian at the Brotherton Library, she had the care of several categories of specialist literature. Among these were two matchless collections of early printed recipe books (singled out by the Arts Council in 2005 as having international significance), and having spent much time during the 1960s cataloguing one of these she boldly took the next step and wrote her pathfinding book.

Soon, thanks to her example, food historians would become an academic commonplace. The book might have projected her into another sphere altogether, when she was interviewed by the teenage magazine Honey a few months after publication. Her head, however, was not turned.

The great thing about Food and Drink in Britain is that it presents a narrative firmly based on fact (drawn from her early printed recipe books) rather than anecdote and speculation, the hallmark of many such accounts. The last serious appraisal of our food history had been Sir Jack Drummond’s more than three decades earlier (The Englishman’s Food, with Anne Wilbraham). She was able to extend her brief back into prehistory thanks to studying classical archaeology (under Sir Mortimer Wheeler) at university. As if anxious not to frighten the horses by an excess of historical scholarship, she stressed in her foreword that her work was also a recipe book, although the reader would have to be keen to explore some of her byways – have you ever asked your butcher for a couple of pounds of beef palates?

A few years later, she endeared herself still further to an important cohort of British food enthusiasts: those who make their own marmalade. The Book of Marmalade (1985) laid out every fact relevant to the history of the confection as well as supplying an excellent set of recipes for all sorts of amateurs, including those who wish to graduate to more esoteric combinations such as lime and honeydew melon. It is still the standard reference point for all those marmalade-making competitions and festivals, and sells steadily nearly 40 years after its first appearance.

Not content with writing significant texts (she was later to deal with the history of distilling, from Dionysiac ritual to modern cocktails, in Water of Life) and holding down her post at the university library, Wilson will be remembered as the prime mover of the Leeds Symposium on Food History and Traditions, the first session of which was held in 1986. Her exemplar was the Oxford Symposium, founded by Alan Davidson and Theodore Zeldin a few years earlier, but it had its own special character, which set the Yorkshire gathering quite apart. Its focus was relentlessly English, and often local; its approach was always historical, not veering towards more general matters of food policy or theory; and thanks to the involvement of Leeds University extension department, its attendees were drawn from a much wider social grouping than the internationalist, media-oriented Oxford affair.

Meetings in Leeds, and later in York, were serious, with heavyweight lecturers, but enlivened by brilliant lunches and teas with each plate brought in by individual cooks pursuing their particular culinary hobbyhorse, be it gingerbread, black pudding or mutton in a 17th-century manner. For several years, Anne was the single organiser and editor of the annual volume of themed essays. As a result of her efforts, there arose in Leeds a distinguished group of food historians – Lynette Hunter, Laura Mason, Ivan Day, Peter Brears and many others – whose work has had long-range consequences for the discipline.

Anne Wilson was born in east Gower, near Swansea, the elder of two daughters of Constance (nee Laycock) and Rowland Wilson. Her father was then an assistant lecturer in mathematics at University College, Swansea, but would rise to become professor of mathematics at the University of Swansea. Her mother was also a mathematician who had studied at Girton College, Cambridge, but had to give up her teaching post when she married in 1925. The two girls would follow their mother to Girton, although pursuing classical, not mathematical studies. Anne attended Mumbles primary school and then Glanmor grammar school for girls, Swansea, before going to Cambridge.

At university, Anne studied classics and thought to train as an almoner, as medical social workers were still known, in Chaucerian fashion. She soon decided this was not for her, nor the two short-lived jobs she obtained thereafter, and enrolled at the London Institute of Archaeology for a diploma. Subsequently, she worked in libraries arranging inter-university loans and pursuing qualification as a librarian at night school. This somewhat halting progress to permanent employment ended in 1961 when she was taken on by the Brotherton Library in Leeds, and there she remained until 1992.

For one whose outward demeanour was quite diffident, the grit and determination she showed in both her writing and in organising other people often caught one unawares. She was also, as if to underline these latter characteristics, a gifted clarinettist and constant member of Leeds orchestras and ensembles. As her publisher for 20 years, I never found her anything but amenable.

She is survived by her sister, Caroline.

Okay. Wow. Where do I start.

(HERE THERE BE SPOILERS:)

THEY MADE MERSTEDE HAPPEN. Now we KNOW that the crew reads fic, because that was pure fanservice. When he materialized and swam up to Ed, I couldn't stop giggling. My husband asked what was so funny, and when I refused to reply, he asked if it was a fan fic thing. Why, yes. Yes, it is.

(Also MerStede is a good look and yes it's camp and cheesy and cringefail or whatever the kids say these days, but honestly I can't blame Ed 'cause yeah, I'd go there. Also congrats to Rhys for living out his cryptid dreams. :D)

Not loving where the Olu/Jim relationship is heading. Seeing Archie intrude on their space was uncomfortable. And I don't like that they made Olu incompetent (he's been a pirate for how long and he doesn't recognize a battle map?). Zheng Yi Sao is amazing, though. "Girl, how are you?" 11/10, chef's kiss, you're doing great sweetie, etc.

I'm shocked that Lucius immediately pivoted to blaming STEDE for his misfortune instead of, you know, THE GUY WHO PUSHED HIM. Everyone seemed a little too on board with pointing fingers at Stede, and no one mentioned Chauncey or the effort Stede went through to fix his mistakes. He even admitted to Lucius to his face that he's aware he's a flawed individual who has hurt many people.

Apparently Stede's vision of their reunion involves a full-bearded Ed, even though the last time they saw one another Ed was clean-shaven. I get that they couldn't make Taika grow a short beard within days, but it's an odd choice for the character. I guess he's remembering Ed as he was when they fell in love? Also I was originally anti-Steard, but that opening scene gave me pause. Damn but that's a good look for Rhys.

Alas, poor Ivan, we hardly knew ye. And for Ed to barely twitch at his death? That's cold, man. They need him to atone HARD for his actions this seasons, because so far he's become very unsympathetic.

Ricky idolizes Stede the same way that Izzy idolized Ed, and it's going to end just as badly for him. Also now I want to try a gin Rick(e)y. Watch this become the new signature fandom drink (with orange juice in place of lime, of course). Lavender-eucalyptus scents will surge in popularity as well.

"You smoke now?" babe he just endured a cavalcade of horrors incomprehensible to the human mind, you're lucky he isn't strung out 24/7. Also smoking was probably considered medicinal.

Speaking of hard drugs, apparently Ed's been snorting rhino horn, which is an aphrodisiac. Is he just giving himself constant blue balls over Stede as self-punishment? No wonder his brain finally was like, fine, if you're not gonna get a therapist I guess I'll just have to make one myself. And Ed repaid this with a Looney Tunes sequence of repeatedly killing his hallucination.

Which leads me to ask...how did he get in that state, anyway? Auntie said that a man had his head bashed in, but the cannonball that Jim dropped would have caved in Ed's face, no takesy-backsies. Izzy's failed suicide attempt I get; 17th century pistols were notoriously unreliable and misfired all the time. You can't just lightly bounce a cannonball off someone's head.

ETA: You know what, I'll accept Ed surviving a cannonball to the face the same way that the show itself shrugs off all the various major character stabbings, hangings, and drownings in an era when the most effective medical care was catgut, laudanum, and hope. If Stede can survive being gut-stabbed AND hanged at the same time, not to mention Izzy getting shot minutes after losing a leg, sure Ed can deflect a fatal head wound. Why not.

Is it me or were there a LOT of suicide attempts, particularly on Ed's part? Like, I get that he's long past spiraled into insanity, but it's unnerving to watch someone repeatedly hold a gun barrel under their chin. I knew a guy (not well) who did kill himself this way, and in front of his kid no less. She was 18 months old and has no memory of it, thank god, but it was horribly traumatic for his wife and older sons, who were in the next room. So yeah. A trigger warning specifically for suicide attempts would have been nice.

They seem to be leaning hard into Buttons's mysticism. Now he can not only talk to birds, but he's being treated as some sort of sea god who can maybe turn into a bird? I hope they don't veer too far into fantasy; I like that it's more grounded with just a hint of theatricality.

Ed puts 'orgasms' as a priority on his list of three reasons to live. Oooooh, they gonna fuck nasty this season.

...they never did explain exactly how Stede got the crew off that island in a dinghy. Did he row them to land one by one? There's no way he piled them all in...the boat wouldn't support their combined weight.

Frenchie is dondurma, specifically a cone sold to you by one of those assholes who keep jerking it away on a stick when you try to grab it and laughing.

Roach is one of those Ben n Jerry's pints where they mix flavors together and act like it's super crazy to have done so, except this time it actually is. Like usually they pair complimentary flavors but Roach is legit an unexpected pairing. Maybe Cherry Garcia with like... Pumpkin cheesecake or something.

The Swede is obviously lingonberry glace.

Izzy is one of those Mexican fruit flavors where no matter what fruit it is they add salt, lime, and chili.

Just got my wisdom teeth out. I can feel every single stitch in my mouth and im scared to move my mouth. My lip and chin are still so numb every time I try to eat my pudding its lime trying to feed a baby thats new to solid foods. But god damn they gave me some of that hydrocodone and its sleepy time for me baby. Surprisingly enough it doesn’t Hirt as much as everyone said it would and ive had pretty good control of my mouth so far, like Ivan move things around with my tongue and I can swallow. But when the nurses were moving me to the recovery room i was high af on anesthesia and I said “what the fuck oh fucking shit what he hell” and they were like oh no swearing and i was like “oooh fuck” and then later when I was a little more lucid I tried climbing up the wall while I asked the nurse if I swore and she was like yeah and i was like did my mom hear? And she was like Bo sweetheart she didn’t and i was like good THATS all that matters and then I broke into a giggling fit.
