"H-hey! What boyfriend?" He winced.

Takeru scrunched his expression like Tooru was the stupidest person he'd met in his ten years of living.

"Kageyama-kun."

"WHAT THE HECK?" Tooru may have screeched.

"Joking," his not-so-sweet-anymore nephew deadpanned. "Hajime-san."

Tooru began not-babbling (because he was not babbling, but Takeru for some reason called it babbling) about how Iwa-chan disliked photos, and how Iwa-chan always looked hideous so it wasn't worth keeping images of him, and how Iwa-chan was not shallow and complicated like a boyfriend, but intrinsic and simple like a best friend. Because Iwa-chan is his best friend.

ive got this thing in my head and i hAVE to say it.

tattooed iwaizumi

okay basically at one point seijoh team is all very a lil tipsy (just think they’re of legal drinking age pls n thanks) and they're all yelling at each other about who’s too pussy to get a tattoo.  

the first years are like whispering to each other “how cool iwaizumi senpai would look with tatts.  wow, hed look so badass with tattoos wow”

everyone has a crush on iwa its canon 

and like all the second and third years hear them, and are like “iwa’s too pussy to get tattoos, he’ll stay out here in the lobby while we get them.” 

oikawa’s looking up alien tatt ideas on his phone, and starts chiming in, “haha iwa-chan would faint if he got tattoos, poor baby.  dont worry ill hold your hand” 

he really just wants to see iwa all tatted he’s a simp and nobody can blame him

so iwa is all red and blushy from the booze, and his head isnt leveled, and he knows its a bad decision, because he isnt thinking straight

but shittykawa is fucking smirking at him, trademark shit eating grin plastered across his face, toying with him knowing he’s gonna win

and he cant say no, because hes too riled up to think straight at this point

so of course he goes and gets one

and everyone's like oh no iwa’s gonna get some small tattoo, because hes smart but it’ll still be badass because its iwaizumi 

so imagine everyone's face when he comes out with the opposite 

and picture this :

iwa with a dragon tattoo on his shoulder, reaching like the middle of his bicep.

  im not drooling you are 

so is oikawa but like we already knew that 

everyone on the team is like ohmygod thats so sick and so cool and you're so cool iwaizumi ohmygod hes so badass i wanna be as cool as him

and at first he kinda doesn't like it because it was a rash decision, and he’s usually so level headed.  He makes impulse decisions, sure but nothing like this.  its usually just like running in to a store last minute to buy food, or like, im gonna go practice for a bit.  nothing this permanent.  

so like, the years go by and he like forgets about it, but it slowly grows on him, cause like it really is cool.  He just associated with bad judgment and didnt really take in that he chose a super sick design. 

so eventually, hes like, I wanna add more to it and he ends up getting a sleeve, which eventually reach his pec and on his other arm he gets some bands above and below his elbow, and he also gets one on his back, like his shoulder blades.  

and he looks so fucking good.  

so like, the next time he meets oikawa, after years of being apart and doing their own things, oikawa doesnt see his face, but the first time he sees iwa is when iwa has his back facing oikawa

and like, oikawa is like “oh look its iwachan omg i missed his dumb face lemme go say hi”

but then iwa takes of his shirt, and oikawa is like, “error file 404 not found″ 

cuz iwa didnt like tattoos, and this looks like iwa, but hes really tatted and really hot 

but by then, oikawa is like arms distance away, and iwa feels someones presence behind him, so he turns around and is like “omg shittykawa how’ve you been” and hugs him for the first time in forever

and oikawa is like short circuiting because “huh” 

and now iwa pulls away and oikawa sees the chest and his brain shuts down because iwa has so many tattoos

anyways yes, oikawa now understands why he had a crush on iwa in the first place all those million years ago 

any ways yeah ... brain rot in full effect

NanaGo Fic Recs (1/2)

* for fics under 300 kudos (go and give them some love) 

Genre #1: Gojo is a horrible little bastard man

My mind is restless with the thought of you, all the things you do* by CursedHoneyB - Teenage!Gojo gets to be a soft variety of bastard man, though he still very much earns his spot on this list. At least this time Nanami gets to have some of that hurt/comfort. I like this one because it has well-done cuddles and literally sleeping together and awkward teenagers trying to figure out this crush thing. I also very much like the segment from Gojo’s POV where he gets to be both soft and also a bastard man, it strikes the balance very nicely. Covers a single incident, in which Nanami is having trouble sleeping.

lovers that were not meant to be* series by Anonymous - This is PWP, be warned, and mind the tags on this one. If the things that are here are, in fact, YOUR thing, then this little series is fantastic. I like it because it takes all of Gojo’s ego and god complex issues and sets them on a collision course Nanami’s denial and stiff outer shell. Gojo is an unstoppable force, and Nanami is not quite as much of an immovable object as he wants to be. Covers two explicit encounters. 

moxibustion by shcherbatskayas - A seminal work in the horrible Gojo genre, I believe, wherein Nanami is unfortunately in love with a man whose god complex is severe enough and justified enough that this fic probably should be tagged for psychological horror. I love it. This take on Gojo has a terrible gravity to him, you can absolutely understand how Nanami got sucked into his orbit and is never quite able to get himself out of it. Covers two time periods - just before Nanami leaves the jujutsu world and just after he comes back.

Heart Laid Bare by athena_crikey - Gojo gets to play a more manchild flavored bastard man in this fic, irresponsible and mouthy and not quite able to take care of himself. Which is where Nanami comes in, the only person Gojo will accept some nice hurt/comfort from. There are so many lines to read between in this one - I love reading Nanami’s POV when he’s on like twelve layers of denial and repression. Makes my day. Covers a single incident, in which Gojo forgets to take care of himself while out on a mission.

Genre #2: SAD (i.e. canon-typical Major Character Death) 

in this life and the next* by keouil - I’m extremely surprised that keouil’s stuff doesn’t get more attention, the writing is good and they have such a variety of interesting aus. Check out more stuff by this author if you like the style on this one! Speaking of interesting aus, in this one Nanami is the grim reaper and Gojo is very literally flirting with death. Anything more I say will spoil it, but oh boy is this a fun little snippet of a tragedy. Covers one specific incident, and I can say no more. 

Limitless Scraps* by coudric - Nanami, and Gojo, and the ghost of SatoSugu, hanging out in the corner. I love anything that characterizes Nanami as an unreliable narrator, and watching him try and sort out his feelings in this fic is just SO much fun. Covers the development of Nanami and Gojo, from Nanami leaving up until the very end. 

oh, the sacred things you do by iwaoiks - hurglighglurgh it’s softtt and it has Nanami handling Gojo’s issues soooo well, and getting through his walls for the first time, and all that just makes the inevitable ending so much worse. Covers the development of Gojo and Nanami’s relationship from beginning to end.

Genre #3: Teenagers being tragic (i.e. set in NanaGo school days)  renaissance* by aschente - If you only read one fic on this list, make it this one. It’s incomplete (1/3 chapters, but the first one stands pretty well on its own) but it’s already my favorite NanaGo fic in the fandom. It just does the complexities and the awkwardness and the rough edges of teenage romance so, so well. I also love the handling of Geto and Haibara, and the way aschente characterizes Gojo and Ieri. You just know that this one is going to get worse before it gets better and I am ALL for it. 

Like Real People Do* by gyokuken - This one’s also incomplete, at 2/7 chapters, and very technically it’s still Nanami & Gojo rather than NanaGo. But even so, I love the dynamic this sets up. The flirting in this one is top tier, some of the best I’ve read in ANY fandom (even though Nanami’s not quite admitting to himself that’s what they’re doing just yet). I also really love what gyokuken has done with Nanami’s backstory so far, and I’m super excited to see where the story takes it in the future. 

Nothing Fades Like the Light* by GrimyLittleTrickster - Yes, it’s still incomplete. At 4/7 chapters this time. Someone had to write the NanaGo fic where Nanami is the unfortunate kouhai pining for his terrible senpai and I am pleased to announce that GrimyLittleTrickster DELIVERS. Gojo gets to be terrible, chaotic, and indecisive, Nanami gets to be super done, Haibara gets to be hilarious and the best friend Nanami deserves, and they all get to be the dysfunctional teenagers they deserve to be. I love it.

"Yuh huh," Iwaizumi grunted his assent.

"I was thinking," Oikawa paused to dig a chip out of the bag, "he might really shine in the later half of the game when everybody's exhausted."

Oikawa popped the chip into his mouth, and Iwaizumi watched him expectantly. His friend's face twisted around the taste like a big baby. Iwaizumi felt his face wobble with mirth. Oikawa loved salt and vinegar chips--but he always, without fail, made a face when he ate them.

"Ya think you're so smart, don'tcha?"

"I do!"

Iwaizumi kept a straight face, but his chest warmed.

"Glad ya realize Kunimi is good enough to do that."

"What kinda setter would I be if I didn't, Iwa-chan!"

Iwaizumi couldn't help his smile.
