International Working Women's Day 2024
Tumblr media
The first Working Women's Day in 1917, which marked the beginning of the February revolution and was declared a national holiday in the Soviet Union the same year, thanks to comrades like Clara Zetkin and Alexandra Kollontai. It remained a communist holiday until its adoption in the 70s by the UN, of course, dropping the "working" part in the name of the holiday.

International Women’s Day was in fact founded by communists, as International Working Women’s Day, and was intentionally launched as a day to link the fight for women’s liberation and the fight of the working class for communism. Unfortunately in the century or so since then, this internationally observed day of militant action has been totally co-opted by liberals and reformists who have erased its communist roots. Rather than fighting for women’s liberation and communism, it is simply a day to “celebrate and empower” women, which is a meaningless liberal platitude.

International Working Women's Day
International women's day ❌ International working women's day ✅
The advent of the neo-liberal economy gradually replaced the International Working Women’s Day with the International Women’s Day. IWWD was the result of a long anti-capitalist struggle for social, political and economic freedom from discrimination against working women on the basis of gender.
The removal of the word “working” is a worldwide attempt to vilify the significance of this struggle. Today we take a stand against it and wish you all a Happy International Working Women’s Day.
Let us destroy the patriarchy and the capitalist society and become cognizant about and participate in this great struggle.
"If wealth was the inevitable result of hard work and enterprise, then every woman in Africa would be a millionaire" - George monbiot
Long live struggling women.

Militancy is not masculine, fragility is not feminine
Posted by Geelong Anarchist Communists 8th Mar 2024 International Working Women’s Day 2024 Militancy is not masculine, fragility is not feminine Despite the theme of International (Working) Women’s Day 2024 being “Invest in Women”, the socialist origins of International Working Women’s Day must not be forgotten. In Australia, IWWD was commemorated for the first time in 1928 with a rally in…

Daily updates of Daniel saying I love you to Aira:
Sent you a video message na to be honest, kung ako lang at magmemake face eh pakiramdam ko mukha lang akong tanga pero sobrang comfortable kong nagagawa sayo (and I love it to be honest haha 😩) cute langgg!
I love you so much! Bawi tayo later ha?
PS. Gigigil ako sayo, pakagat me hehehehe (03/08/23)

International working women’s day was first celebrated in 1909 by the Socialist Party of America by the proposal of Theresa Malkiel, a Ukrainian-American communist and labor organizer, and first made into an official holiday by the Soviet Union in 1917.
The date, March 8th, commemorates a demonstration held by women’s textile workers in Petrograd against WWI, food shortages, and the Czar, which ignited the February Revolution. Don’t erase the revolutionary origins of women’s day!

Quote
But you cannot draw the masses into politics without drawing in the women as well. For under capitalism the female half of the human race is doubly oppressed. The working woman and the peasant woman are oppressed by capital, but over and above that, even in the most democratic of the bourgeois republics, they remain, firstly, deprived of some rights because the law does not give them equality with men; and secondly—and this is the main thing—they remain in household bondage", they continue to be “household slaves", for they are overburdened with the drudgery of the most squalid, backbreaking and stultifying toil in the kitchen and the family household.
Vladimir Lenin, International Working Women’s Day (x)
