Connie Armenta’s Memories
Tumblr media
My dearest friend Annette had a heart of gold!
Thirty years ago when I first met her she worked for an attorney that leased an office from IYPH. She eventually came to work of us. We were lucky enough to have her. She was a perfectionist and dedicated worker. She was so good at what she did the young attorneys would even ask her to review their work. If I had a project that required writing skills (work related or personal) she was the one to go to. You can guarantee it was well written. We were a team, she was the writer/organizer, I was the numbers person. She would always tell me to do my magic with the numbers. She was the one that organized all of our events.
Her favorite was the softball games and bowling parties. Work was so stressful at times. She put a firm softball team together and signed us up in a league so we can release some of the stress and have fun. She didn't want us just to work together but for us to know each other in a personal way outside of the office.
Annette liked bowling, her family did it in her younger days. She wanted to get into it and asked me to get her in a bowling league. I did and she looked forward to bowling nights. A couple years later she said to me thank you for getting me into bowling I have met so many great people, thanks to you!
Annette don't thank me for all the friends you have made it's you, You did that! With her smile and friendly personality how could you not want to be her friend. Friday night after bowling was Karaoke and dancing. She was great at it! Friday's will never be the same. Ralph lost his Karaoke duet partner. Annette should have been a teacher that is what she loved to do. Spread her knowledge!!
She would come over and give ukulele lessons to my granddaughter and she would have weekly Hula dance lessons to her Tiny Bubbles song.
Annette was one of a kind. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her knew she had an incredible energy, a distinctive laugh and the most generous heart. She always made time for others and never hesitated to help anyone she knew was in need.
Annette was more than just a friend, she was family. We will always cherish all the great memories we shared with her. Our family is so thankful that Annette was a part of our lives and she will always hold a special place in our hearts. We love you Annette and you will never be forgotten.

Vatican issues new stamp dedicated to Pope’s visit to Armenia

Vatican issues new stamp dedicated to Pope’s visit to Armenia
The Vatican has issued a new stamp on the fourth anniversary of the Pope’s visit to Armenia. The Holy See has thus joined the UN’s initiative, which has declared 2020 as the International Year of Plant Health (IYPH), the Armenian Embassy to the Holy See reports.
The stamp depicts Pope Francis and His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, watering the symbolic vine planted in Noah’s Ark, thus confirming that the theme of plant and earth health is a spiritual value.
Pope visited Armenia in June 2016. In 2017 the Vatican issued stamps dedicated to the Pope’s “Visit to the First Christian Nation.”
Designed by Daniela Longo, one the stamps depicted Pope Francis in front of the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan.
Pope Franics visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial on June 25, 2016. Within the framework of a three-day visit to Armenia Pope Francis denounced the “ideologically twisted, planned genocide of Armenians starting in 1915.”

“If a man loses one-third of his skin he dies; if a tree loses one-third of its bark, it too dies. If the Earth is a ‘sentient being’, would it not be reasonable to expect that if it loses one-third of its trees and vegetable covering, it will also die?” Richard St. Barbe Baker
The FAO says “Protecting Plants, Protecting Life.”
Richard St. Barbe Baker says; “The trees and vegetation, which cover the land surface of the Earth and delight the eye, are performing vital tasks incumbent upon the vegetable world in nature. Its presence is essential to earth as an organism. It is the first condition of all life; it it the ‘skin’ of the earth, for without it there can be no water, and therefore, no life.”

“St. Barbe’s unique capacity to pass on his enthusiasm to others. . . Many foresters all over the world found their vocations as a result of hearing ‘The Man of the Trees’ speak. I certainly did, but his impact has been much wider than that. Through his global lecture tours, St. Barbe has made millions of people aware of the importance of trees and forests to our planet.” Allan Grainger
“We forget that we owe our existence to the presence of Trees. As far as forest cover goes, we have never been in such a vulnerable position as we are today. The only answer is to plant more Trees – to Plant Trees for Our Lives.” ~ Richard St. Barbe Baker
