My dear little Ursa finally got a fresh faceup after close to 10 years. I really love her vibe now, she looks so much more lively than with her old one! I also swapped her eyes for a size smaller than before.
It's amazing what a difference 10 years of practice makes! My linework got bolder and more refined/cleaner, along with my blushing. I don't just blush in fleshtones anymore, I also add blues and purples strategically to breathe more life into a doll.
The what is what:
Sculpt: Dollzone Shoyo in normal pink
Eyes: Self-made acrylics in 14mm
Wig: Monique Gold in 7-8
Outfit: By colorful.misfits (a friend who's left the hobby)
In honor of 2024 being the year of the dragon in the Chinese zodiac, it felt appropriate to repaint my own noodle dragon girl Dollzone Po in white skin. I had absolutely hated the previous Faceup I’d put on her for many reasons, so I was happy to redo her. Also who can resist shimmer freckles?
See for yourself in the before and after below!
The new Faceup is much much cuter in my opinion. I opted for no applied eyelashes this time because her eyes are just so dang small!
The redo was prompted by her new wig, which was the first wig I’d ever sewn like this. The part is messy, but acceptable to me and not bad for my first time working with sewn wefts!
She’s just so adorable, I’m glad I finally bonded with her
I love how my Luna (Honeytree) and Cupid (Sunnydaze) are both tan Pukifee but Honeytree is so old and mellowed you can't tell x) or maybe that's just what tan looked like at that time?
I've ordered a reshell for Abraham, so he's being saved a spot!
Faceups are either company/artist done or by IzasFaceups.
I wanted to quickly share a picture of one of my current projects. I got this lovely body painted by the talented @izasfaceups in a trade and wanted to make it my recent character Munna. But It wasn’t really working out.. the Munna I had created in Pokémon Sword grew on me too much. But I am certainly not giving up on this body. I just realised I need to get it a head first and then create a new character for it ^_^
The tiny fish has returned! The dear @izasfaceups painted the guppy for me and made him the necklace, I am forever thankful ♥ (and I looove the drawing of Vadym ♥ mighty dragon).
I gave the little one a bit of hair and now the itty bitty fish is finished.

izasfaceups does such a great job and she's improving so much! I was looking through artists and revisited her because she breathed life into my older doll, and am thinking about getting him touched up. She's come so far!
My first doll project of 2024 was to re-style Ember. I made my first sewn wig from pre-made wefts and I am happy with it!
The part is messy, but it's not bad for my first wig like this. The wig cap is fabric and I bought it years ago from Angelesque still. I sewed most of the wefts on while the cap was on her head.
With her new pastel pink and mint wig, I finally kicked myself in the butt to also redo her faceup. I opted for now applied eyelashes this time because her eyes are so narrow that you can't see them at all.
This was her previous faceup and wig. The wig always was meant to be temporary, because I don't like it that much, but it was the only one I didn't feel bad cutting holes into for her horns.
The transparent horns are magnetic, but the solid ones are not, and of course they are a very awkward position making it impossible for her to wear normal wigs. Yes, the wig I sewed has holes cut into it for her horns. It's stretchy which is the only reason it goes over the horns at all.
The what is what:
Sculpt: Dollzone Po in white skin
Eyes: unknown 12mm glass eyes
Outfit: unknown, was a gift
Wig: Mohair Fiber by LaFiabaRussa, sewing and styling by me
Doing this spooky inspired skull faceup on this Faewoods Dolls Dahlia in lavender skin was fun and a challenge! The skull part is mostly acrylic with some pastel blushing.

I have been thinking a lot about dolls the last few days, and I thought I’d make a list of some things I hope to do (possibly) in the upcoming year:
-Junebug: She will come in somewhere in the middle of next year. My blue @nyxyscreations Luna. She is my bright colour loving gamer girl bat ;) I have to see what to do about her face-up, but her concept is done and ready.
-Hylia Mipha: She already got new hair and eyes, but I also want a new face-up by @hasels-aesthetics. For her open eyed and sleeping face plate.
-Munna: Minna is an idea I got after seeing @izasfaceups Dollzone Chinese Dragon body. I got loads of ideas for them. I think they will be a ‘sleepy’ dragon character who loves oversized sweaters. Still thinking about the possibilities and what kind of head to go for.. And what further styling to give them.
-Sprout: Junebug’s best friend. I got this idea after seeing a tan Notdoll Lucy on DoA. Still thinking about the details, while playing her trainer character in Pokémon Sword. She loves fluffy things and dresses a bit more tough/modern.
Any of you got any exciting dollie plans in the new year? ^_^
