When you first walked in the front door, before you were able to even slip into a pair of house shoes you were always bombarded with hugs and kisses of greeting, ones you were always happy to receive. When you walked in today, however, the house was unusually quiet. Which was not what you expected. “Sanemi? Shinya! Seina!” You called out to the whole household, heaving the bags of groceries into the kitchen as you looked around. The house was tidy, toys put back in their usual spots, and no blankets scattered around the sofa and floor. There wasn’t a single stuffed animal sitting in a random spot in the house. It was suspiciously spotless. “Sanemi Shinazugawa!” you called out again, wandering down the hallway towards the wing of the house where the bedrooms were. Peering into each room for any sign of a small human or even your owl-eyed husband. Going back to the kitchen you pulled your phone from your bag, dialing your husband's number. It was picked up after 2 rings. “Hey babe, what’s up?” “Where are you? Where are the kids?” You put the phone on speaker so you could put away the groceries, organizing the many snacks for the twins and even snacks for you. “We went to the park. I bet them that if they could clean their rooms faster than I could clean the living room we would go to the park. They won, don’t check under their beds though. They both shoved most of their stuff under them. I didn’t even want to correct them, they did it.” You laughed, knowing that even though they no longer shared a room, they still shared ideas and personalities. Your neighbor had mentioned a twin telepathy thing that you denied, but it seems you were being proved wrong once again. “Oh, alright. Thank you for cleaning my love, it looks beautiful. Not one single block for me to step on” Sanemi laughed this time. You could hear children screaming in the background, high-pitched laughter, and squeals of joy. “Is that mom!? Tell her hi!” “Hi, Mom! Dad lost! Izumi is here too!” “Get out of my face, don’t scream in my ear you two. Go play with The Tomioka’s you’ll see Mom later.” Sanemi continued scolding the twin, Seina’s sharp tongue lashing right back at her father. She was a crybaby most of the time but when she was riled up she had an attitude that could rival her father's. “Seina be nice to daddy! He doesn’t like loud noises they give him headaches.” You called out, hoping she could hear you. “You hear that brat? Be nice” You didn’t have to see to know Seina was pulling a face, the grumbling that resonated through your speaker made you shake your head. Thankfully Shinya had chosen to remain quiet. Although he was 10 minutes older than Seina, he had your temperament, more docile and quick thinking rather than emotional. “Alright babe, I’m gonna throw Seina in the lake, go ahead and make dinner for three” Sanemi interrupted your thoughts with a maniacal laugh. “DAD! NO!” giggling ensued on the other end of the line, a few squeals accompanying it. “Dad! MY turn, spin me!” Shinya was joining in. “Alright bud, hold on. Let me say bye to your mom first.” “Bye, Mom!” “Bye, Mommy! Love you” You gave them your love “Okay, baby we’ll be home in like an hour. I love you” “I love you too Sanemi, Be safe.” The line cut off, letting you continue with the task at hand.

“Mommy we’re home!!” Shinya ran into the living room where you were seated, jumping onto the couch next to you. “Daddy took us to the park and we got to play with Izumi because she was there too. There were ducks and even a bunch of frogs! Daddy said I can’t keep one” Shinya was pouting as he cuddled into your side, resting his head on your shoulder. Sanemi finally showed up, Seina fast asleep on his shoulder. You waved him over to you, motioning to the seat on your other side. “we can go back and visit the frogs. But you can’t take them from their home, their parents will miss them. Just like Daddy and I would miss you if you left.” Shinya nodded, letting out a yawn. “are you guys hungry? I made Beef curry.” Sanemi shook his head laying his head on the back of the sofa. “They wore me out just as much as the park wore them out. Did you know that Izumi bites? I’m so glad they don’t, I would have to bite back” You giggled, reaching over to smooth back his hair. before looking down at your son who was passed out on your shoulder. You cooed smoothing his hair down as well. “And you bite hard my love, I’m pretty sure I have at least one scar of your teeth on my shoulders” “ah, that is supposed to be there, no one is going to fuck with a woman who has my teeth in her. No one should fuck with you anyways” You nodded “Very true, I also don’t think anyone would mess with a woman who has two screaming 4 year olds. No matter how cute they are, they were terrors when they are well rested. C’mon, let’s put them to bed, then we can eat and pass out on the couch” Sanemi didn’t waste time getting up from the couch, offering you a hand as you lugged the children to their rooms.

Marine Bio Headcanons

Mental illness held me in a vice grip because I cannot stop thinking about the marine biology club. interacting. OCEANS is a little family and you cannot tell me otherwise-

General Headcanons:

Kaoru likes pulling on the ribbon that holds Souma's hair up to tease him. If only every time he did it, he wouldn't have his nose nearly cut off by Souma's sword.

No matter how many times any of them towel him down, Kanata will be completely drenched the next minute.

When Souma isn't looking, Kaoru switches his homescreen to a goofy picture the group took at an aquarium in sea creature onesies and random aquarium merch.

Souma gripes at him for it before setting it back to an Akatsuki group pic but Kaoru notices that when the phone flashes with a notif later that Souma set the picture as his lock screen.

Kanata never yells but when he gets mad, the aura is absolutely menacing and everyone hurries to cheer him up.

Kanata likes showing Souma sea creatures the most (alongside Shinobu) because Souma responds with a childlike excitement and wonder, his eyes sparkling as he itches to name the next one he sees. He often thinks about how to bring up to Kuro and Keito that he wants to steal their child.

Kaoru likes nuzzling his head against dolphins like those trainers.

Kanata saw this and wanted to try and Kaoru moved aside thinking Kanata was going to nuzzle the dolphin. Instead, Kanata dived towards Kaoru and bumped their foreheads together, laughing.

Izumi is terrified of frogs and when Shinobu's chasing them, he often ends up running as well.

Shinobu was so scared to pet a dolphin but when Kanata guided his hand to its head, he now didn't want to leave it and the other three had to drag him out of the water.

Marine Bio Club (! era):

Kanata doesn't like parting with the sea creatures. Once Kaoru and Souma noticed that it was getting dark and tried to get Kanata to go home but he kept pouting, hugging various fish tanks as Karou and Souma have to pry him off.

Kanata likes initiating group hugs between the three of them and Souma and Kaoru try to stay the furthest away from each other.

Kaoru usually sputter something like, "Ew, I don't want to be near a man." And Souma replies, "Well, I don't want to be near a disgrace to society." Before they fight too much, Kanata just knocks their head together.

Kaoru liked jokingly asking Souma to make him a bento like Souma does for Adonis (Adonis does not stop talking about Souma during club meetups and Kaoru initially pays attention if only to make fun of them).

Souma thinks he's serious and vehemently refuses. This only makes Kaoru curious and when Souma's still stubborn about it, he claims that he can just steal some of Adonis' lunch to which Souma threatens to cut his head off like the ingrate he is.

Kanata likes taking the creatures out for 'walks' where he just picks up a bunch of them and piles them on his head and shoulders and just walks across the school grounds. Souma and Kaoru are running after him with as many fish tanks they can physically carry with them yelling at him to put them back.

Souma does not make Kaoru food but instead reluctantly offers to teach him how to make some of the dishes he uses. Kaoru uses them pretty frequently actually and in turn picked out a seafood recipe specifically that he knew and taught it to Souma, which the latter was extremely happy about!!

For someone who was so repulsed by males in his "I hate men, I'm not gay!" era, Kaoru shows a lot of physical affection towards these two, usually pinching Souma's cheek or ruffling and patting Kanata's head. Towards the latter half of the I era, he starts leaning his head on both when pointing or looking at things.

Kaoru accompanies Adonis to Akatsuki performances insisting that he's being a very good senior to his precious underclassman. He's really just curious about Souma's performances.

Souma doesn't believe that Kaoru goes to his performances because the man was suble about it, and says so when Kaoru mentions it in the clubroom later. Kaoru then makes it a mission to be the absolute loudest member in the audience. Keito and Kuro notice him and raise an eyebrow and Adonis is confused but is happy that Kaoru is supporting Souma so he just happily shakes the glowstick. At the end of the performance, Souma throws his fan towards the audience, square at Kaoru's face. Kaoru then threatens to keep it and they argue after the live. The next day after an UNDEAD live, Souma (who went to watch Adonis), Souma reluctantly compliments Kaoru on his performance as well.

Kanata likes patting Kaoru and Souma on the head- 1. to diffuse arguments between the two and 2. ever since Chiaki taught him what a headpat was, he's been obsessed with doing it to everyone.

Kaoru, at first, doesn't appreciate being touched by a man of all things, but he warms up to, and finds a lot of comfort in being patted on the head. Souma always likes being praised and he strives to get pet on the head. Jealousy over such praise often end up in more subdued passive aggressive arguments between the two and Kanata just uses both hands to tap them on the head, coddling them.

Kaoru likes staying as long as possible in the clubroom because he doesn't want to go home.

When Souma catches him, he says that he's doing it so that the fish aren't lonely. Souma doesn't believe that one bit but he argues that he can keep the fish company and stays there. Kanata joins in because he wants to stay with the fishies too. This isn't the last impromptu sleepover they'll ever have and by the sixth one, Kaoru is joking they should have matching onsies. Kanata's eyes sparkles and they literally cannot turn back. Souma gets a turtle onesie, Kaoru gets a dolphin one and Kanata gets a jellyfish one Souma and Kaoru bury their onesies in the back of their closets praying that it will never see the light of day outside the clubroom..

Once Kaoru's sister asked him to style her hair for a special occasion. Not really knowing anyone with longer hair than him, he asks Souma to style his hair as practice and Souma threatens to cut Kaoru's own with his sword.

Souma actually relents ,during an impromptu sleepover, when he figures out the reasoning and Kaoru feels like he's treading over a mine field as he braids Souma's hair. Kanata wanted to join in so he braid Kaoru's hair in little plaits and Souma ties Kanata's now short hair in a ponytail that sprouts from the top of his head.

Shinobu visited the marine bio club once and Souma showed him Kamegorou (the lil turtle!!!).

The turtle crawled on Shinobu, causing him to panic, but when Souma told him that Kamegorou like him, Shinobu didn't feel like getting the turtle off and made it a mission to not disturb it as much as possible. He almost left the room with Kamegorou still perched on his head.

Izumi, when he visited the marine bio club, just wanted to see what Kaoru found so interesting about it. When learning the tanks were open, he warns everyone to not let his clothes get wet.

Kaoru, who had his hands deep into a tank wading his arms around, then playfully flicks water at Izumi, and Izumi proceeds to ask Souma to borrow his sword.

OCEANS (!! era):

Souma spends a lot of time in the marine bio room in the school looking after the sea creatures. Shinobu helps him out because he feels an obligation to.

They spend the whole time gushing about turtles and frogs and have a competition to see who can name the most creatures.

Kaoru used to just soak in a lot of the info his mom rambled about during her work as a marine biologist.

Therefore, when they see a creature in an exhibit, he randomly decides to infodump on the animal. Izumi and Kanata are the only ones who know where such info comes from, so they listen intently. Souma and Shinobu just stare, confused, before turning to name the creature "Peppy" or something.

Kanata is fascinated by penguins.

They all went to the zoo and it took one momentary blink for the group to lose Kanata. Souma freaks when he catches sight of Kanata all the way down in the penguin pen, waddling his arms around alongside them. Shinobu is the first to voice his concern for his unitmate, albeit loudly. Kaoru's concerned, but the only sentiment he can let out is that it would be embarrassing to kicked out of a zoo of all places. Bystanders end up catching a glimpse of three teenagers scaling down a wall (they were trying to be discreet but Shinobu and Souma's yelling made it anything but) while Izumi is standing by the railing stuck in between calling out to them in concern and pretending he does. not know who they are. (He refused to ruin his clothes and Kaoru simply had to question that if he had clothes he didn't want to ruin, why did he bring them to the z o o ? )

Shinobu and Izumi catch wind of the onesies.

Kanata stated it pretty openly actually, sending the other two in a panic.

Shinobu, to their surprise, was very enthusiastic about it, wanting a frog onesie for himself.

Kanata happily got it for him and before Izumi could voice that he did not need one, Kaoru ordered him a penguin onesie.

Kanata wanted to wear them together but Kaoru figured that three people who graduated should not break into the school and stay there all night.

So they wear it on late nights in the aquarium and stay as long as it closes. (Sometimes they fall asleep on the floor and each other and get woken up by security, yikes)

Kaoru loves having another junior to tease so he likes messing with Shinobu as he did with Souma the year before (not that he would ever stop).

Shinobu doesn't know what's going on but he's not sure he likes it. Souma's always one to shove him away from Kaoru, shaking his head (no death threats this time tho!)

Shinobu once saw Kaoru surfing and praised his cool ninja-like moves.

When Shinobu lamented that he couldn't anything nearly as neat as surf as Kaoru did, Kaoru asked Shinobu to show him his ninja tricks which Shinobu happily obliged and now he regularly shows them to Kaoru.

Izumi had an intense fear of touching sea creatures at first.

The four of them, when they realised his hesitance, chanted around him in a circle to cheer him on to touch a baby seal at an exhibit. He eventually did and now he has a soft spots for baby seals.

Kanata is very proud of his junior unitmate for sharing his interest in the sea and spares no time in patting his head. Shinobu is happy that he is praised and the two have a stronger bond over the ocean. Kanata is very proud of his child :>

A dolphin, once at an exhibit, grabbed one of Izumi's loose jacket sleeves (This is why you actually wear your coat!) and wouldn't let it go.

After a brutal tug of war, Izumi lost. And was tugged into the water, leaving Kaoru hysterical, Shinobu concerned, and Souma trying to stop Kanata from jumping in alongside him.

Souma and Kaoru tag team to make a picnic for them on one of their aquarium visits.

Shinobu jumps into the kitchen wanting to help out, and he does with various ingredients and grabbing things for the two, but ends up clutching to the twos' arms when he's in front of an open flame (He's still scarred from Tetora's wreckless cooking bye). Izumi was about to help but all his nagging and comments about exact measurings and flavourings made Kaoru shoo him out the kitchen. Kanata's just there melting into the table, wondering when he can see the fishies (and eat them).

Shinobu convinced Souma to play hide and seek with him during aquarium visits.

Somehow, it ends up with the other three spending two hours trying to find them.

Marine Bio Club is one of my favourite groups ever for 7 years you guys don't understand oughdkhgfkh Izumi and Shinobu are such a perfect addition too!! I love this group and HappyEl has barely given us any content on the entire group but this is how they interact and nobody can tell me otherwise <3

Those brats... I’ve told them to do it seriously, but this is some crazy instruction. I’ll give them a lecture after this.

All-out Easter Etude! - Part 1

―Entrance (Night)―

Izumi: I’m home~.

Sakyo: Oh, you just came home too, huh.

Izumi: Yeah! Good work for today, Sakyo-san.

―(Lounge)―

Sakyo: We’re back.

Kazunari: Welcome home~.

Izumi: What’re you all doing here?

Sakuya: We’re doing preparations for Easter event!

Sakyo: Oh, the one that Miyoshi proposed?

Kazunari: Yeah, that one! It’s kinda tiring to prep for it tho, cuz there’ll be tons of different games~.

Izumi: Are you guys making easter eggs?

Azami: Kinda, but not really. The egg inside has a piece of paper with instruction written on it.

Izumi: Instruction?

Kazunari: I call this game, “Simon Says Easter Eggs Hunt”!

Sakyo: What kind of game is that?

Sakuya: It’s like a scavenger hunt. The contestants must pick up an egg and follow the instruction written on the paper inside.

Taichi: Sakyo-nii will be the rep of Autumn Troupe for this contest!

Sakyo: What? Since when did you decide on that?

Azami: You weren’t there for the event selection ‘cause you had some errands to do. You even said it yourself, “Go ahead and decide for me”.

Sakyo: Oh, that time... It’s my bad for not listening but you should’ve told me if you’ve decided already.

Taichi: Sorry, Sakyo-nii!

Izumi: It doesn’t seem like there’s that much progress though...

Sakuya: Actually, we all had trouble coming up with challenges to write on the paper.

Kazunari: We need some decent amount of them~.

Azami: And it won’t be good to have many identical ones too.

Sakyo: Perhaps it’d be better to go for a different direction that’s not too biased and easy to think about.

Izumi: Oh, how about writing a theme for an etude? It might be a bit different from an instruction though.

Sakuya: That’s a good idea!

Taichi: It’s fitting for us actors!

Azami: Etude themes... Anyone got any idea?

Kazunari: Here, here! I just thought of one!

“A person who frantically waves his hand for a taxi in a heavy rain at midnight, but the taxi is actually a police car”!

Sakyo: What the hell...

Sakuya: That’s very sad...!

Azami: How surreal.

Taichi: But thanks to Kazu-kun, we’ve got some idea of the direction! We just gotta think of themes like that!

Kazunari: Alrighty~, I’m gonna come up with lots of ideas~!

Sakyo: You better not just think of weird stuff.

“A rabbit who is wary of the surroundings to monopolize its favourite carrot”!

Izumi: Nice, you included an Easter element!

Sakuya: Mine is... “An Easter egg who is sad for not getting any paint”. How is it?

Kazunari: Super interesting, Saku-saku!

Oh! I got one more idea... “A frog who wants to be reborn as a boba”!

Azami: Are we having a surreal story fest now?

Sakyo: ...Cut that out, you brats. Take this more seriously, will you!

Taichi: Eek! I’m sorry~!

Sakuya: We didn’t mean to play around...!

Kazunari: I guess it’d be a problem if we put any strange themes in this game since Frooch-san’s gonna be in it~.

Sakyo: That’s not what I meant. If it’s etude, we’ll do it seriously. I’m just telling you to think more properly.

Azami: Properly, you say... In that case, an interesting theme that we don’t usually see might be better.

Sakyo: Hey, what’re you up to now?

Azami: Nothing.

Izumi: Now, now. You don’t have to be that angry.

🌸CHOICE 1: Make the event more exciting

They just wanna make the event more exciting, that’s all.

Sakyo: I know that.

But what if the game stops because the contestants have difficulty with a theme like the one just now?

They’d be sluggish and everything will be a mess from that point onwards.

Izumi: Sakyo-san...! I thought you weren’t that interested in the Easter event but you’re very serious about it!

Sakyo: What? Well, I gotta do it properly since I’m going to participate in it.

Izumi: Fufu, I’m kinda happy to know that you’re also enthusiastic about this.

Sakyo: Hmph, I’m not so keen on it though.

🌸CHOICE 2: Sounds interesting, count me in!

Izumi: It sounds interesting, so I’ll try coming up with a theme too. Let’s see...

How about, “A person who’s happy after they open an Easter egg and find a curry rice in it”?

Sakyo: You’re the only person who’d be that happy about it.

Izumi: EHH?! I don’t think that’s true though...

Sakyo: Heh, yours are probably the most surreal out of all.

Manager: The next game is “Simon Says Easter Egg Hunt”! Which is also an “Etude Game”!

Masumi: I’ll show her my good part.

Tenma: I’m gonna win this.

Homare: I’m very looking forward to seeing what kind of etude themes will pop out!

Manager: We’ve got quite a unique group of members here!

Sakyo: Guess it’s time for me to play now.

Omi: Do your best, Sakyo-san.

Juza: We’re rooting for you.

Taichi: Go, go, Sakyo-nii~!

Manager: Well then! On your marks, get set... Go!

Sakyo: Guess I’ll go with the egg that’s closest first. Let’s see what’s inside-.

......

Manager: Oh? Looks like Furuichi-san is frozen in place after seeing his paper. Sir, please read out loud your theme~!

Sakyo: ...“Sakoda Ken, who’s eating a fried shrimp set meal”.

Taichi: Whaaat! He’s gonna act as Sakoda-san?!

Banri: Pfft, the heck? That’s more of an imitation rather than an etude.

Juza: Who put that theme in...?

Azami: I wrote it thinking it’d be funny if Shitty Sakyo pulled it, but I didn’t expect for him to actually get it. I should film this.

Sakyo: ...So that’s what this is.

Manager: Quite a difficult theme there! What will you do, Furuichi-san?!

Sakyo: I’m an actor, so I’ll give my all to act it out.

Azami: Wow~.

Sakyo: You better watch me closely, you brats...

―After the etudeー

Banri: Oh, man~. If there’s MVP for this game, it’d be Sakyo-san for sure.

Azami: Yeah, that acting of his was the best. Bet Ken-san would cry if he saw it himself.

Right, I should send him the video that I took.

Sakyo: Stop it, don’t let the guys from Ginsenkai see that.

Azami: I’m the one who took the video, so it’s up to me how I want to use it. Anyways, gotta send it to Ken-san first.

Sakyo: Dammit...

Izumi: Great work, Sakyo-san! You were really impressive as an actor!

You were just like Sakoda-san!

Sakyo: ......

Izumi: Um, Sakyo-san? What’s wrong?

Banri: I’m sure that was meant to be compliment but that ain’t it for him, Director-chan.

Izumi: Huh?

Sakyo: ...Not happy at all.

Tsukuyomi: Facilier isn't connected to any royal, his only connection is him turning Prince Naveen into a frog.

Poppy: We'll have to ask Emu, but I think that works.

Kiriko: Wouldn't that place Sougo with the Royal villains?

Hina: As long as the person he's wearing isn't connected to royalty like Emu and Takeru are.

Hina: Here's what I think this would look like

Hina: July to December would be the Riders in their Rider garb, well parka versions of their Rider garb.

Mei: So you're saying, Geiz could wear the Wizard Parka while Takeru would wear the Revice Parka?

Hina: Right, Mei-chan!

Kiriko: That could work.

Kiriko: Although, let's have Emu and Shinnosuke exchange their Rider garbs.

This was just a really silly comic that I had drafted up in my notebook, since I liked it so much I ended up digitalizing it. Ichigo and Izumi's childhood friend is getting married so they were invited as the bridesmaids, the groom on the other hand (Ichigo's other childhood friend but Garuru's military buddy) invited the Demon Siblings to be his groomsmen. At the reception, Garuru gets a glimpse at Ichigo and his brain goes completely blank. Literally. Composure? What's that? — in the beginning, zuko has no qualms about courting sokka. he’s the son of an ally country’s leader like yeah classic political marriage like what’s the issue (other than his own stifling awkwardness of course.)

— — sokka has the brain cell so he’s probably hesitant to jump into a relationship. they’re both public figures and gay marriage was just decriminalized— zukos already a contentious leader. not to mention, sokka has dated royalty before and the devotion to duty only lead to heartbreak.

— — — kataras the one who straightens him out. she is like “we gave our entire childhoods to these countries— don’t let some grandeur of responsibility keep you from the happiness i know you deserve”

— whenever they’re separated for long periods of time, sokka writes these gorgeous, long winded, purple prose letters about how much he loves and misses zuko, and his travels etc that are upwards of 20 pgs

— just being around each other is enough to put them in way better moods. when one of them is gone, both are insufferable to be around.

— sokka goes on a life changing field trip with redemption arc!azula to find the stone for zuko’s engagement necklace and they bond & really connect in a weird way bc like... theyre sorta of the smartest people either of them know

— — meanwhile zuko, toph, and katara go on a life changing field trip for the metal for sokka a royal hairpiece and accidentally create probending

— sometimes it will get reeeeall quiet and sokka will just lean over and whisper to zuko “you know your great grandfathers were fucking right?”

— zuko obviously has days where he needs to just like escape and not to talk to anyone, so sokka will take the crown in his absence.

— — he spends those days doing all the shit zuko hates doing so he doesn’t have to

— sokka still struggles with feeling useless sometimes and thought it baffles zuko how he could possibly think that, he immediately will try to rectify it.

— — so zuko will show him the proof of a history textbook he had to approve, and show him every chapter dedicated to everything sokka invented, planned, or lead during the war and after to prove how important sokka is.

— sokka will be writing and when zuko sits really close to him on his right side, hell just switch the brush over to the left to hold his husband’s hand.

— when korra is first taken in by the white lotus, sokka insists they spend some time down there. zuko tutors her firebending and she loves him, but she’s obsessed with sokka who sneaks her out and teaches her sword fighting.

— not really a zukka head canon but when zuko first starts sleeping with the group at the air temple, he looks over and sees aang just levitating a few inches off the ground and is like “what the fuck” sokkas like “oh yeah that’s how he sleeps you get used to it”

— when katara finds out sokka helped toph have suyin, she’s like “it’s so touching that you want our families to be forever intertwined and for our children to always be connected!” and tophs like uh totally yeah

— — nobody tells her the interaction went “sokka be the father it’ll be funny” and sokka said let me ask my husband and zukos went “lmao do it it’ll be so funny”

— izumi ice dodges when she comes to age and crushes it, which makes hakoda and sokka both cry.

— — when iroh II wants to ice dodge, izumi refuses. she is however not supported by her fathers who are like “you did it! it’s a right of passage, izumi” “dont be a nerd, izumi”

— zuko, being a huge nerd, does indeed have iroh style his hair before their first date and sokka laughs so hard he cries

— sometime straight people will be like “oh the ladies must be sad you two are off the market!” and they will respond “our ex girlfriends are dating each other.”

— their wedding is extremely opulent, as pure sokkas request. zuko would’ve married him in a broom closet.

— zuko calls sokka “socks” and sokka calls him “zuks”

— sokka is very much that guy who wants to pretend he’s all cool but brings up his boyfriend all the time

i guess, i wrote most of my mai & izumi headcanons in this post, and i had naively thought i have nothing to add haha, but here are some more headcanons because as it turned out fire nation royal family is my favorite topic:

mai was always terrified with assassination attempts/a mere idea that someone might choose and hurt izumi just to revenge them with zuko, so izumi often slept with them, or mai stayed in izumi's nursery for whole nights.

izumi loved to fall asleep holding mai's hand, so she always, in any case, searched for her mom before bedtime and asked her to lie beside her and just give her a hand.

mai chose to teach izumi etiquette and all ladylike things by herself. remembering how her tutor and mother treated her in childhood (slapping her hands when she held a cup or pen wrongly, pulling her corsage so tightly that she couldn't breathe, all just to sit with a straightened back, teaching her to just be quiet and still and never reply even if someone offends you etc). mai didn't want it for her daughter.

it was always hard to keep a line between "izumi is allowed to do this and this because she's just a kid" and "izumi isn't allowed to do this because she's a crown princess of the fire nation and the future fire lord".

i headcanon izumi was that quiet, calm, socially awkward and really thoughtful child who just likes to sit and read tales instead of doing crazy things. mai wanted izumi to be more active: jump, scream, climb on trees, fight, run away, especially when they allow this, at least throw mud at some boy!! (mai even expected that maybe izumi would be as impulsive and hot-headed as her father, knowing zuko's temper). but izumi just loved to come to mama's or dada's study and sit with them while they were working.

after discussing it with zuko, mai thought up a new game. they made "important projects" for izumi such as "to set druk's firebending schedule", "to decide if they should honor a title to mr. ostrich-horse", "to host a tea-party for the court members (izumi's toys)", "to call a meeting of council members (turtleducks)", "to impose a tax for frogs for using the pond." they with zuko thought up a bunch of silly tasks like this and then had been giving it izumi with a serious expression, reminding that it's her work for today to look through and sign this stuck of papers.

when pre-teen/teen izumi noticed that the press, the council and almost everyone honored only her father (because he's the fire lord) and ignored/didn't show equal respect to her mom, she was so so mad. from then, she started to introduce herself as "crown princess izumi, the daughter of fire lady mai". zuko had never been offended, he was amused!! he always winked at izumi and whispered, "good job, turtleduck."

Sokka lingers in the doorway, indulging himself for a moment to watch the two of them, huddled up in Izumi's little bed and giggling about something he can't hear.

Zuko spots him first, a soft smile pulling at his lips. "Hey you."

Sokka strolls in, dropping a kiss to his head before taking his rightful spot at the edge of the bed. "I didn't miss story time, did I?"

"No, she wanted to wait for you."

"Aw, Starlight," he soothes, running a gentle hand down Izumi's arm wrapped snugly around her favorite red dragon. "Well I'm here now, so which one will it be? Wait, let me guess— Frog and Toad?"

She nods happily up at them, the picture of coziness as she snuggles down further under the covers. Zuko fishes the well worn copy from the shelf nearby and hands it over. "She wants us to read it together. We each have to do a part."

"Easy enough," Sokka shrugs, flipping through the pages in some futile attempt to find a story she hasn't heard a thousand times already. "So I guess I'll just be Frog, and you can be—"

"No way," Zuko cuts in. "You're definitely Toad."

When Sokka looks up, he's met with a stupid grin that he can't help but return. "What is that supposed to mean?"

Izumi giggles next to him, her mouth curling into a dimpled smile. "Toad's the grumpy one."

I have a question for you I have been wondering these days...

[Here comes Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood/FMA manga spoilers]

Why do you think Roy Mustang could recover his vision with a philosopher stone but Izumi couldn't get his organs back with the help of Hohenheim??

Hohenheim told Izumi he couldn't get her organs back (you can see it on the video below) but Roy revovered his vision and Ling and Hohenheim also offered its stone to Edward at the end of the serie.

[Minute 2:10] This is where Hohenheim tells Izumi he can't take his organs back

This is where Ling and Hohenheim offer his stone to take Al's body back

I think it could be a mistake. However, I have some ideas about what could happend there...

- Hohenheim doesn't want Izumi to open again the Gate of the Truth

- He didn't know how to open Izumi's gate. (Because each person has a different gate)

- He didn't think before that opening the gate was a possibility.

- Gates can't be open without transmutating (and kill) a person. However, Edward could open it because he has Al's armour near to him and Roy could recover the vision because he was forced to do it.

- Edward has better skills than his father about opening the gate.

- Hohenheim wanted his stone to fight Father so he didn't want to use it for Izumi.

The Izumi residence goes on a vacation. Izzy is having a hard time finding peace without being bombarded by his husband and his two little kids. This fic is nothing but fluff and twists the "there is only one bed trope" into something cute!

It was just a small trip, not too far from home. just a cabin. in summer. with his husband and two kids. A five and two year old.

Koushiro felt anxious as he was driving along the dirt roads. Tai laid back in the chair looking at the map. "Take a left.. wait no right!" Taichi corrected himself. "Taichi.." The redhead warned sternly as the mistake caused him to swerve a bit. The toddlers laughed at the movement. "Ouch full name." The brunet replied.

He rolled his eyes, continuing to drive to the destination. It was sunset, the sun glistened beautifully, having an aura of peace, yet Koushiro couldn't focus on the peace, instead a soft thumping on his seat that was getting harder. "Taimi Izumi, this is the second time I told you to stop kicking the seat." His voice was stern and somehow still calm. "Sorry papa," Taimi replied.

Taimi had wild brown hair and black eyes. He was very smart and compassionate, but very energetic. Intanaru, his 2 year old sister, was smart as well as more calm. She was still finding out her own personality as she was so little. She has not spoken a word at all and is most likely on the spectrum, like her papa Izzy. Right now she tries to mimic everything her brother does which leads to sometimes very troubling situations.

Taimi looked out the window not realizing they just pulled right next to the cabin. It was petite and seemed rather cozy. "Bubba go help dad take things inside, I need to grab Inta." The digidestined of knowledge told his kid. He nodded obediently letting Tai unbuckle his seatbelt. He carries just a little bit, but enough to make him feel like he's helping.

"Daddy can we play a game?" The little kid asked his father. "Maybe when we get all comfy in here alright bubs?" Taichi told him. Taimi sighed, understanding and somewhat frustrated.

Koushiro came holding the two year old on his hip.

The inside of the cabin was cute. It had a small living room area which shared the same room with the kitchen and had two more bedrooms- one bedroom with a king sized bed. "Tai I thought you said you booked the one with two bedrooms." he turned to his husband. The brunet rubbed the back of his neck "Oops.. Must have booked the wrong one. Sorry Iz" he responded uneasily. If Koushiro wasn't holding a toddler he would've slapped himself

"Eh it won't be that bad. Taimi is basically glued to you Izzy." Taichi tells him while unpacking his stuff in the drawers. "I'm trying to stop that so he doesn't have separation anxiety. Did you even read the parenting books I gave you?" Koushiro snapped. "You bought like 10 parenting books and I'm gone a lot. It's only a few days babe. We'll get Taimi used to sleeping on his own after this. He hasn't gone to bed with us in a few weeks anyways." The brunet reassured his husband.

Koushiro knew Tai was right. He was constantly paranoid about being a bad parent. He knew there will be a time to fix things and every parent makes mistakes. He leaned forward to give his husband a kiss-

They were interrupted by the bedroom door flying open, Taimi and Intanaru were playing swords with sticks they had found outside. The older kid clearly going easy on the one younger than him. The little redhead didn't have the best balance and her grasp on the stick was a bit weak. "Papa, daddy!! Can we go outside?" The two adults looked at each other for a minute before nodding. Koushiro and Taichi got up slowly off the ground. "Keep close where we can see you." Tai finally told them.

Outside was a bit darker than it was when they had first arrived. The area was open, but surrounded by forests. Taichi and Koushiro sat next to each other watching their children play.

Intanaru pointed at something. Taimi's eyes widened. "A froggy! Inta you need to catch it!!" He tells her. She panics trying to jump to catch the frog missing it by so much. She quickly got up chasing it until the frog ran into the forest bog. The brunet fell laughing "let's be frogs!"

Izzy had to hold in his laughter as his kids were now on all fours jumping around like frogs. Every few seconds Taimi would loudly yell "Ribbit!" While Intanaru tried to copy the sound. Barely anything came out other than a squeak.

"You know whenever someone talks she never looks directly at them." Tai said to him. Koushiro nodded he picked up on that too. Her eyes always seemed a bit glazed over and her coordination has never been the best at all. "Maybe we should check in with the pediatrician." he replies. Tai silently agreed.

They continued to watch the kids play frog.

Bed time has never been easy for the Izumi's. Inta never wanted to go to bed, Izzy always had trouble sleeping, Taimi was glued to Izzy, and Tai was a bed hog.

Getting Taimi to brush his teeth was difficult enough, sleeping with everyone was a nightmare.

Taichi was on the right while Koushiro was on the left near to the door. Intanaru and Taimi were in between them with a pillow lodged between Inta and Tai. Tai was a hardcore cuddler and was always worried of crushing his daughter. The five year old brunet had his head on his papa's chest getting as close to Izzy as possible.

Taimi was a lot like Tai. He basically radiated heat causing Koushiro to sweat badly. He held him close anyways falling asleep.

"..apa….papa.. papa.." Taimi was on his knees shaking the redhead awake. "Bubba.. what.." It had to be at least 3 am. "I has to pee…" Izzy groaned getting up helping the child off the bed. He held his hand as he walked down the small hallway to the restroom.

The light to the bathroom door was blinding. He sighed waiting for his son to finish his buisiness. The brunet hummed the tune of a song, possibling twinkle twinkle little start. He heard the flushing of the toilet. "Wash your hands." Koushiro told him. Taimi sighed very loudly turning the sink on washing his hands.

"papi.." he said in a squeaky voice. "Yeah bubba?" Koushiro tried desperately to stay awake. "I left my teddy in the car.." He stiffined, shit.

"Bubs.. you've been sleeping without it so far.. we can get it in the morning.." he tried to reassure him. "No! i need my teddy now!" he said a bit too loud. Izzy bit his lip. "Okay just this once, but we have to be quick." he said taking Taimi's hand using his other one to open the door.

Outside was beautiful.. the fireflies roamed freely and the crickets and the toads sang. There was a light trickle of rain and the soft sound of the wind. He grabbed Taimi's teddy handing it to him shutting his car door.

He didn't walk back to the cabin just yet. It was so beautiful out. He felt pure tranquility. Like he was riding on kabuterimon again. So far and so free.

"Papa.." Taimi said again. "hmm?" Koushiro kneeled down to him. The child kissed his fathers cheek. "Thank you.. I love you." he tells him. And even though he hasn't adventured in the digital world in years he knew. His adventure was far from over. That this was just a new journy.

He kissed Taimi's head. "I love you too,"
