Izuku and Ochako have been engaged for years. Not for a lack of wanting to be together; they’re very much in love, thank you. It’s just that...they’re already basically married? Why put so much effort into a dumb ceremony? But eloping seems wrong because of their families and traditions, so they just. Put it off.

And off.

And off.

To the point where people start to roll their eyes a little because wow, why aren’t they married yet? It’s only thanks to one ridiculous, spur of the moment wedding between Eijirou and Katsuki-that Izuku’s coerced into officiating, during a mission no less-that prompts them to finally decide, you know what? Screw it.

Let’s get married.

And thus, the shenanigans begin...

One of the downsides to hero work is the paperwork. Not that Izuku hates it. Quite the contrary— it can be soothing, in a way. The mindless tap-tapping of the computer, filling in the blanks on the report, and starting anew. Over and over and over again. Izuku likes that part of it. He sort of finds himself zoning out and getting into a groove, and hours later will come to when an intern nervously jostles him, only to realize he’s finished probably fifty reports, stack half empty.

Yeah, he doesn’t mind the paperwork. Just. The bad paperwork, like a failed case. A villain that got away, or a civilian that died. There’s usually more paperwork involved in those situations, and they leave a cloud of melancholy lingering over Izuku as he works that just. Isn’t fun. This usually leaves Izuku himming and hawing, taking way too long or shoving that particular report aside and tackling others first. It’s the latter, today; Izuku grimaces at the report on his screen. It’s the failed raid, and he’s been staring at it for what feels like ages, trying to figure out where to even begin.

Still, Izuku must’ve been more zoned out than he realized, because when a pair of hands slam against his desk, he yelps and nearly falls out of his chair. His gaze whips up to see Kacchan leaning over his messy stack of pages, face screwed up in a scowl. Izuku tilts his head, brows furrowing. “Kacchan? Is...is everything alright?”

His face screws up even more, if possible, and he lets out a long, heavy sigh. “Our parents are being annoying as fuck,” he says through grit teeth, “and they’re being pissy we didn’t have a fucking ceremony.”

Izuku blinks. “O-oh.” That makes sense, of course. If he knows anything about Kacchan’s mother, it’s that she’s wildly outspoken and opinionated, not much unlike her son. And from what he understands, Eijirou is rather close with his family. So he’s not exactly surprised to hear this. Still, his brows furrow in bafflement, and he reaches to straighten some of the pages strewn across his desk. “Why are you telling me this, though?”

Kacchan huffs. “Because we’re doing it.” He slides something towards Izuku, carelessly shoving through case files and papers, and pulls away, revealing a sleek, square of glossed paper. Izuku squints.

Oh. Oh. Izuku’s eyes go wide and mouth drops open wide enough he’s almost surprised his jaw doesn’t just fall off and hit the floor. Because holy shit. The Four Seasons Izuku recognizes, because there’ve been a handful of hero conferences there and it’s. Fancy. Incredibly so. And the fact that Kacchan booked there is insane enough, but he booked there for a little over a week from today. “I...next Saturday?” he asks, voice hoarse. Kacchan tisks, gaze skirting away.

“Yeah, and you’re our fucking officiant, or whatever, so you better be there. And tell Cheeks to get off too, ‘cuz I know she’ll wanna be there too.”

And oh. Oh. Oh, gods . Izuku feels his eyes burn, vision blurring out of focus. “Re-really?” he says, voice squeaking something terrible. But Kacchan just pulls away and crosses his arms over his chest, glowering off into the distance.

“Duh. Who the fuck else would it be? You already married us anyway, so it’s not a big fucking deal.”

It’s rough and totally Kacchan but Izuku feels his heart seize a little in his chest. He sniffs and blinks, hard, fighting the desire to start bawling. “Kacchan…”
